Chapters
The meme coin market is highly active with seven, eight, and nine-figure runners daily. The main question is how to find these coins before they pump.
Trading meme coins is incredibly risky; over 90% of people lose money. Meme coins are worthless and will eventually go to zero. Never risk money you can't afford to lose.
Old method: trading terminals like Axiom, Padre, or Dexscreener for new pairs. New method: FOMO app for token and trader discovery, which is unbeatable for finding coins with momentum.
FOMO broke 100,000 daily active users. The trending tab shows only 40-50 coins, with most users watching the top 10. Trending indicates attention, not guaranteed gains.
A bot in the Waypoint Discord pings when a coin enters FOMO trending, giving early research opportunities.
Use FOMO alerts to see what top traders are buying/selling. If 10 top traders ape into the same coin, it's a signal to pay attention. Never copy trade; use for information.
Leaderboard shows P&L over 24h, 7d, 30d, all-time. Example: UniPCS is up $7 million this month. Follow traders with 'motion' who move charts.
Look at token P&Ls to find early entrants with strong conviction. Example: Wood got in at $12M market cap, held to $254M, up $2.85M.
Trending coins have higher entry points. New pairs offer lower entries but more rugs. Example: FOMO Pump Guy made $825K from $100 on a 10K market cap coin.
Narrative is the story behind a coin, driving attention. Attention is key: are more people paying attention tomorrow than today? Narratives can be anything: cute animals, funny memes, KOL buys, viral TikTok.
RWA meme coins link to tokenized stocks. Example: Artificial Inu (AI) on Robinhood went from nothing to $320M market cap. Other examples: Fatcoin (diabetes stock), Nudes (Snapchat), Cameltoe (Lululemon), Boner (HIMS).
Boner paired with HIMS stock went from $2.2M to $90M in two days due to the RWA meta and short squeeze narrative. The ticker is funny, driving volume.
90+% lose money. Example: a trader made $330K from $2,600 but had many losses before. Treat losses as tuition; start small ($5-$10) to learn.
Steps: check picture/ticker, holders (filter friends), website, Twitter, search contract address. Look for viral narrative. Jimothy was a raccoon with a shortened spine going viral.
Catalysts are events that push price up. Examples: brands posting (Mudang), CEX listings (Binance, Robinhood, Coinbase). Jimothy ran out of catalysts and dropped to $7.4M.
People like Ansem, CZ, and Kobe (Base chain) can move charts. Kobe following Basecap on Twitter took price from under $1M to $17M. Coinbase listing took it to $42M.
Crypto-native narratives (Basecat) need crypto catalysts. Mainstream narratives (Jimothy, Peanut) have broader emotional appeal and can go viral outside crypto.
Peanut was a squirrel unjustly killed, creating 'Justice for Peanut' narrative. Elon Musk and Trump hosted it, sending token from $10M to $600M. Binance listing took it to $1.8B. Then no catalysts, now at $50M.
Waiting for someone to tweet is the worst catalyst. Example: Asteroid (Tesla/SpaceX mascot) bled out after initial pump.
No universal answer. Rule of thumb: take out initial investment at 2x or 3x. Example: bought $750 at $430K market cap, sold at 2x, made $1,400. Later the coin rugged to zero.
Theses in FOMO are marketing; people want you to buy after them. FOMO has rev sharing for referrals, so be skeptical.
Successful meme coin trading requires a systematic approach: use tools like FOMO for discovery, focus on narratives and catalysts, follow top traders for signals, and always manage risk by taking out initial investments early. Remember that most traders lose money, so treat losses as tuition and never risk more than you can afford.

[00:00] The meme coin market is on fire. Every single day, we are seeing seven figure, eight figure, and even nine figure runners. But the number one question I am being asked is how do I find these coins before they go up?
[00:12] So in today's video, I'm gonna do my best to teach you everything I know about trading meme coins, from how I find them, how I evaluate if they're gonna go up, what the main catalysts are, what the main characters are, and when to sell.
[00:24] Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to another Crypto Gorilla video. As usual, I am not a financial advisor. Trading meme coins is incredibly risky. Over 90% of people lose money doing this. So you're way more likely to lose than you are to win.
[00:38] So never risk money you cannot afford to lose. Except the fact that meme coins are worthless. It's not a question of if they go to zero, but when they go to zero. And nobody is responsible for clicking the buy button except for you.
[00:51] So if you're cool with that, hit the subscribe button and let's jump right into today's video. So let's take this step by step with the first step being, how do I find meme coins that I want to trade that have the potential to 100x? Now the old way of doing things which is still viable if you want to do this is with a trading terminal like Axiom,
[01:08] Padre or just on Dexscreen or looking at new pairs. The issue with this is there are hundreds of tokens launching every single second with multiples of every coin. Sometimes you'll see 50 down here look how many there are of this coin and not only that there's Solana, there's Binance,
[01:24] there's base there's robin hood which is the main chain people are trading on right now but there are runners across every single chain so i want to see them all but there is so much garbage here and while yes i can filter a lot of the garbage out the new way of trading is by using a tool
[01:39] like the fomo app if you aren't using fomo whether it's on your desktop or your mobile device in my opinion you are doing yourself a disservice and i'm not saying you have to trade with fomo by all means if you have a trading terminal that has better fills, if it gets better prices, whatever,
[01:54] use that to do your trading. But in terms of token discovery, as well as trader discovery, FOMO is unbeatable. So if you don't already have a FOMO account, I will put a referral link in the description down below. When you use it or my code CryptoGorilla, you get a 10% discount on
[02:10] your trading fees. So it's a no brainer to use it, but it also helps me out a lot when you guys use my referral link because I make these videos for absolutely free. Now, one of the reasons I say the trending tab is so powerful is because of the sheer number of users on the platform. They just
[02:25] broke their own record, breaking 100,000 daily active users, meaning at any given moment, there are potentially tens of thousands of people looking at the trending tab on FOMO. And there's only 40 or 50 coins in this trending tab, and most people are just watching the first 10, especially
[02:42] if you're on your phone. So much so that when I'm in DC chatting with my friends and we're scanning for meme coins, we'll talk about a coin, somebody will say which one is it, and we'll just say it's number two trending on FOMO. That's actually become part of our vocabulary. Now just because
[02:56] something appears in trending, it doesn't guarantee it's going to go up, nor does it guarantee it's not a rug or a scam coin. What it does guarantee is there are a lot of eyes on the coin, and meme coins are all about attention. Now because so many people are paying attention to the FOMO trending
[03:11] tab, we've gone ahead and built a bot in my Discord, Waypoint, which I'll put a link for it in the description down below if you want to check it out. And this tool pings you the second a coin enters in the FOMO trending section. That way, at least you know, hey, there's something new I got
[03:25] to go research before everybody else notices it. So that's one of the ways I'm finding tokens that are coming on my radar. The other way is by following some of the top traders in the space. As you can see on the left side in the alerts tab, I'm getting a ton of signals for traders buying,
[03:40] selling or even leaving a thesis, their opinion on a token. Now I don't do this to copy trade people. I do this to see what everyone is buying or selling. If 10 of the best traders in the space
[03:53] are all aping 5,000, 10,000 clips into the same coin, it signals, hey, there's something that you should be paying attention to right now because everybody's throwing their money into it. And this works great, especially on your mobile device
[04:05] because I'm getting the signal sent straight to my phone and I see it right away. Now finding these traders is easy. If you want to see who I follow, you can just go check it out on my profile. It's all public, but there's two different ways you could do this. The first is by going to the leaderboard, where we're going to see everybody's P&L over
[04:20] the last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or all time. So here I'm able to find some of the best traders. Let's say UniPCS. He's an amazing trader. Just this month, he's up $7 million, and you could see his portfolio is very green.
[04:35] So this is potentially somebody you want to follow. I follow him because he has motion. When he just mentions a coin, it goes up. And then the other way is by actually looking at a token. So for example, let's go to AI, a token that did really
[04:47] well. It went to 300 million. And we just go through all the different P&Ls here in the FOMO app. This is only people inside of FOMO, not the entire market. And I want to look for people who got in early and had strong conviction. For example, Wood got in at a $12 million market cap
[05:04] average into this coin and it's at 254 million. So not only did he get in early, he held the entire way. And we can take a look at his position. He put in a lot of money still, $232,000, but he's
[05:18] been buying, selling, buying, selling all the way up. But he's currently up $2.85 million. That is very impressive. So I would go to his profile and I would evaluate, is this a good trader? Is it somebody I want to follow? He has some good trades here. How often does he trade? For example, Mu,
[05:34] he made $60,000 on Moo, amazing. So this is somebody I follow, but you need to evaluate if it's somebody you wanna follow. But again, never copy trade any of these people, you will get wrecked doing this only use them for information Now there is a downside to only using the FOMO trending section compared to a terminal like Axiom or Dexscreen or looking at new pairs and that is
[05:56] you won't get as low of an entry because all these coins already have volume. They're already at a certain market cap whether it's you know 100k, 200k, a million, whatever it is. And the perfect example that people like to use is FOMO Pump Guy who this guy put in $100 into the Bullets Coming
[06:12] coin at a 10k market cap and he's made 825 000 profit from 100 that is absolutely insane this is what most people want to do but this is like winning the lottery most people are not going to
[06:26] do this nor will they have the conviction to hold for this long without ever selling this guy hasn't sold yet what is he doing something like this you could only get looking at new pairs but i'd rather not deal with all the rugs again not that there's not going to be rugs here but i'd rather look at
[06:41] coins that have momentum, that are already moving, and that people are showing interest in. Now as an in-between, you could always look at the graduated section. You can even open up a separate tab here just so you see them, like trending up here and then graduated down here. Entirely up to you.
[06:56] You'll see coins before they pop into trending. So now that we understand where to find tokens, let's talk about what makes a coin go up. And the most important thing for a token is the narrative.
[07:08] Narrative is the story behind a coin is what drives attention. And attention is the most important thing with a coin because it means are more people going to pay attention to the token tomorrow than they are today, which increases the likelihood
[07:22] that the price is going to go up. Now, narrative can be literally anything. The narrative can be the animal's cute. The meme is funny. It could be a certain KOL bought in. It could be a certain person on Twitter is talking about it.
[07:35] It could be something on TikTok that is going viral. There are so many different narratives that could move a meme coin. Let's try to go through a few examples. The main thing happening right now, or the main narrative, is RWA meme coins.
[07:49] And what people are doing is they are linking meme coins to tokenized stocks. So by holding a meme coin, they're using the fees to purchase tokenized stocks and airdrop it to the holders of the meme coin.
[08:01] Now, the biggest example of this is this coin called Artificial Inu or AI on Robinhood. Robinhood is the main player for the RWA narrative, even though every chain is trying to dominate it. And you could see the coin went from literally nothing a few days ago all the way up to a $320 million market cap.
[08:21] And because of this success, we are seeing a ton of tokens run off of this narrative, right? it's created a meta where people are just chasing the next stock meme coin. So if we just look
[08:33] through some of the coins here, we have Fatcoin. This is a meme coin paired with a diabetes stock. We have Nudes. This one is paired with Snapchat. We have Cameltoe, which I actually bought into this one because I found it funny. This one is paired with Lululemon, but one of the most
[08:49] successful ones recently is going to be Boner. This one is paired with HIMS. As you can see, it did incredibly well over the last two days, going to an 80, even higher, a $90 million market
[09:01] cap, when just two days ago, it was sitting at roughly $2.2 million. Now, why did this happen? One, it's part of the meta. Everybody's chasing the RWA tokenized stock meme coin play. Two,
[09:13] there was some narrative going around about a short squeeze happening on a stock, and the stocks that fit that narrative were AMC, HIMS, and there was another one, I forget the name. But what happen with HIMS is the ticker is BONER and it's just really funny. Like imagine so much volume on
[09:29] the meme coin that it's buying the tokenized version of the stock which purchases the actual stock when the market is open. Imagine that actually sends the price of the stock up and then on a financial news channel they have to talk about how the stock is going up because of a meme
[09:44] coin called BONER. That would just be the funniest thing and that's a really good narrative that's going to push a token. So this is one of the coins that did really well. Does it mean every single coin you find that you think is funny is going to do well? No, absolutely not. Like I said,
[09:59] I bought this camel toe coin and look, I'm currently down $44 on it, right? It's not taking off even though the meme is really funny. What I think too many people are doing is they're seeing all these people with these crazy P&Ls, especially that now we're in this social trading age where
[10:14] everybody's P&Ls is public, everybody's tying it to their Twitter account and it's a flex. I think too many people are falling for this trap that it is so easy, but this is the minority. 90 plus
[10:26] percent of people lose money on meme coins, right? Some people get lucky, like this guy, he put in $2,600, so still a big amount of money, really early into this coin, and now he's up $330,000. That's absolutely amazing, but if we go to his profile, how many shots did he take
[10:44] before this paid off? Here he lost $1,300. Here he's up, that's the coin we're talking about. Here he lost $3,300. You know, on TIG today, he lost $2,700. There's a lot of losses that he's taking until he finally gets to the win. So you guys need to look at this as the cost of tuition.
[11:02] That's why you shouldn't be YOLOing thousands of dollars. You can even go very small. Go with $5. Go with $10, you know? Who cares that you aren't making $10,000 in a single trade? The goal is to
[11:14] learn from trading and to understand the market, understand the meta. And once you see you're getting a lot of wins and you're doing well, and you're actually understanding the market, you're training your trading muscle and you're learning to hold because how many people would
[11:28] have held as high as he held, right? You would have put $2,000. You would have probably sold when you made five or 10 profit This guy held all the way to 330 The guy on AI coin this dude who put in and he up million
[11:45] How many of you were to held this long and continue blasting into this coin and then it goes up? I would have probably sold at half a mil or a mil, even less, right? This guy held to $7.5 million and he has not sold a single dollar.
[12:00] Absolute insanity. Now let's talk about another narrative, and then we're going to include catalysts as well as main characters. We're going to tie it all in. So let's look at Jimothy, because this is somewhat recent, and it's pretty good.
[12:12] Now, let's say you ran on Jimothy, and it's really early on. The coin hasn't pumped yet. How do you decide if this is something you want to get into? First thing I do, I look at the picture and the ticker. Is it funny? What is it? Is it an RWA stock? Like, what is it?
[12:27] I go to the holders. I check out who's holding. Again, I follow a lot of people, so I'm going to see my friends. I'm able to filter by friends only, and I can see who's in this coin. After that, I'm going to go to the top. I'm going to look at the website.
[12:39] I'm going to look at their Twitter, but I'm also going to click this search button, and it's going to search Twitter with the contract address as well as the ticker. And from here, I'm going to be looking for people telling me about the narrative,
[12:52] and I'm going to want to figure it out as fast as possible. So right here, I can see Jack Duvall posted about a raccoon, And you could see he has a shortened spine, right? Do your post, post about it. And what was happening here is everybody was posting videos of this raccoon on social media.
[13:08] And it was going viral on Twitter, on Instagram, on Facebook, on TikTok, whatever. And the more something goes viral, the more likelihood a meme coin is going to go up in price because meme coin traders want to ape into that virality.
[13:22] Not because there's any correlation between the raccoon and the meme coin, right? The raccoon didn't make the meme coin, but we're all aping into it. because it's going viral. So great, now the Raccoon is going up in price because it's viral, but then what's the next catalyst? A catalyst is important for your token to continue going up.
[13:39] So it started going down, down, down, but then brands started posting about it. Very similar, if you remember the Mudang token, the exact same playbook happened. So the price started to go up again as Minecraft posted about it, as Major League Baseball posted about it. Google, if you
[13:55] wrote Jimothy had a little Jimothy crawl across the screen, right? The price went higher and higher and higher until it ran out of catalysts. The main catalyst here would have been a centralized exchange listing. So something like Binance, Robinhood, Coinbase. Unfortunately, that didn't
[14:11] happen in time and it went down and now it's kind of just trading at 7.4 million. So this one went down. Let's talk about centralized exchange listings as well as main characters. So we have main characters in crypto that have the power to move a chart very much. So an example of this
[14:28] would be Ansem. When Ansem talks about a coin, it goes up in price, whether it's in his Discord, on Twitter, on his stream. If you're paying attention to him, if you're using a Twitter tracker, if you're watching his stream, if he says something, the coin's going up. It's just
[14:42] how it works, right? Another example is CZ. People literally look for his old tweets or even new tweets and they'll make coins based on what he says. There's people whose job it is is to deploy coins based on different characters across Twitter. Now another main character is Kobe. Kobe works for
[14:59] the base chain and what he did is he followed the Basecap Twitter account on Twitter and it made the price go from under a million to, it went to 17, to 17 million. It went up to 25, but let's just
[15:11] call this 17 million. Then it kind of traded sideways. It was even going down a little bit under 10 million because nothing happened. There was no catalyst that happened to make this continue going up. But then they got the Coinbase listing and the price went from 9 million all the way up
[15:29] to 42 million. But same thing, no catalyst. The price is going down, down, down. And then it started to go up a little bit because people are assuming base is not going to let this die and they're going to crime the coin. But then what happened here? Why did this go up? Remember I
[15:44] said this guy, I follow him because he has motion, he transferred himself. This is what he does. He'll buy 2% of a token with multi-six figures. He'll transfer it into his FOMO account instead of buying it in FOMO. And then he'll leave a really long thesis on why he's bullish. And this
[16:00] is him on the chart. It went from 22 mil to 43 mil. Then again, it bled out because people are waiting for the next catalyst, which to me, the only catalyst left is either the team mentioning the coin like Brian Armstrong or them climbing it, right? That's how I view this coin. So those
[16:16] are examples of catalysts. So once you're in a coin, you always want to be asking yourself, is the narrative growing? Is this thing going viral? And unfortunately for a coin like Basecat, it's limited to the crypto world. So you need crypto catalysts in order to make it go higher
[16:31] versus a coin like Gemathy, which this is a mainstream narrative. It's an animal and it has a shortened spine. So animal, emotion, people are very emotional about animals. I love animals.
[16:44] And then, you know, it's a deformed raccoon, right? He has a miniature spine. So there's even more emotion for him. You feel bad for the raccoon. Videos are going viral. And it's a much better narrative when it's outside of the crypto world. Now, one more example of this with other
[16:59] main characters that are not in the crypto world, because all the examples I just gave you are crypto native people is going to be peanut peanut was a squirrel that was unjustly killed and we
[17:12] had this narrative of justice for peanut okay and what happened was you know it started to go up because the narrative was going viral on social media again animal um injustice they killed the
[17:24] squirrel for no good reason so people were outraged and it was going viral then elon Musk and Donald Trump arguably the two biggest KOLs in the world hosted Justice for Peanut and they were using this
[17:36] as their political campaign to win the election. This was one of the wildest things to see when it sent the token from a 10 million market cap all the way to like 600 million and then what's
[17:48] the next catalyst? Boom, it got a Binance exchange listing and it went all the way to 1.8 billion. Then, what's the next catalyst? The biggest KOL spoke about it, Trump and Elon.
[18:00] The biggest, or arguably one of the biggest exchanges, Binance, listed the coin. What comes next? Nothing. People stopped talking about the squirrel. People forgot about it. The guy who owned the squirrel tried to launch his own coin and get fees and bounce this one,
[18:14] and it started going lower and lower and lower. Now it's at $50 million. Maybe on the anniversary, Trump tweets about it, but that's going to be a short-lived pump and dump. Again, because what's the next catalyst after he tweets about it?
[18:26] And waiting on somebody to tweet about something is the worst catalyst you can have. Asteroid is the perfect example of this. Asteroid was the official Tesla mascot or SpaceX mascot, right?
[18:38] It went to 100 and something million, and then we were just waiting for Elon to do something, and it bled out. It bled out. It bled out. Now he'll sometimes say it, or you'll find it on the Tesla site. It goes up, but it ends up just bleeding out. So we've covered how to find a coin.
[18:50] We've covered narratives and catalysts. We've covered different exchanges. We've covered different main characters, both in crypto and outside. Now let's talk about when to sell because I always get asked this question, and it's
[19:03] literally impossible for me to answer. I don't know your financial situation. I don't know how much you put into a coin or how much you're willing to lose. I don't know what coin you bought, what the market cap is, if you bought at $500 million or $5K market cap.
[19:15] So a general rule of thumb for me is when I buy a coin that I don't have real conviction on, right? if I buy a coin and I'm like, I think this is going to 100 million, cool, I'm going to just hold it, whatever, I'm taking the risk. Maybe I do take profits along the way, but I'm taking the
[19:29] risk. When I buy a coin like this, I literally bought this at like 9pm or whatever time it was, because I saw Wizard of Soho bought this coin. That was my catalyst for this coin, okay, or my reason to buy it. And I saw that EZ had posted, this is the Pendle Finance of Robinhood.
[19:46] So I was like, yo, DeFi's doing really good. That's another narrative that people are running, be fine Robinhood because the chain is growing. So I didn't verify if the tech worked. I didn't verify anything. So I bought $750 at a $430 market cap and luckily it went up, right? So at 2x,
[20:03] I took my initials out. That's my rule. Either at 2x or if I'm being greedy at 3x, I pull my initials because you never know what can happen with a coin. Now it went down a little bit, so I feel good about selling. Then it goes up even more, more and more. I miss selling up here
[20:18] at like 2.8. I sell at 1.7. Then it's like I'm bored. I was going out or something. So I sell the rest at 1.5. Now, a lot of people would say, oh, you could have sold higher. I regret it. It's
[20:32] gone up. You know, you feel bad. Maybe you even slow-mo back in. To me, this coin was dead. Like, I was never going to look back at this coin. And I made how much? I made $1,400. That was good enough for me. Now, if I would have held, if I wouldn't have sold, if I wouldn't have even taken
[20:49] my initials out, look what happens. Boom. It goes to zero. The team rugged it. I would have lost all my money, right? Even if I didn't sell up here to take profit, I would have been really happy that I sold right here and I took my initials because now I'm playing for free. Now I have zero risk
[21:05] in this coin. I purely have profit. And this happened so incredibly fast. So I'm pretty sure we covered everything I wanted to cover. I'm going to make a bunch more of these videos, so make sure you hit the subscribe button so you don't miss it. Oh, the one thing I did want to cover is the
[21:20] thesis section. So down here, we have people leaving a thesis, right? If I turn the alerts on, I'm going to see people leaving little messages right here, don't be like me, blah, blah. People are going to leave tweets. I really appreciate, I don't know what this is, okay? This could be a weird
[21:33] tweet, but I really appreciate when people leave tweets because it helps me with my research. But the one thing you have to remember about this is this is marketing. People will say anything down here to get you to buy because they're already in. They want a bunch of buyers to come in after them,
[21:49] especially if they are putting really good theses and you're clicking it to read it and you click buy, they are now getting paid because FOMO added referral sharing, rev sharing for somebody clicking
[22:01] your thesis and buying. So down here, this is marketing, okay? As nice as you might think somebody is telling you this coin's going up to buy it. Here's why it's marketing. Okay. So just
[22:13] remember that that's the last thing I wanted to touch on. Again, I'm going to make a bunch more of these videos. If you appreciated it, hit the like button, hit subscribe while you're down there. If you have any questions at all, put them in the comment section down below. Even if it's been
[22:25] five years, I will reply to you. Okay. I am obsessed with YouTube. I read my comments daily. I delete all the little bots, people selling coins down there. Do not buy it. It's all scams. Okay.
[22:37] I manually have to delete them one by one. If you want to support my channel, make sure you use my FOMO referral link or use code CryptoGorilla. It really helps me out. If you want to join my Discord, jump in DC with me, chat in the chat,
[22:49] or use our tools, right? Our FOMO bots, our Meancoin bots, our NFT bots. There's a link to the Waypoint Discord down there as well. Thank you for watching another Crypto Gorilla video. Peace.
[23:07] Thank you.
