Influencer Marketing is DYING
44sControversial claim about influencer marketing dying grabs attention, paired with a 19 million view story that hooks viewers.

Nick Fowler shares his journey from $0 to $50,000 per month using TikTok Shop, an affiliate marketing platform where creators receive free products and earn commissions on sales. The conversation covers the program's requirements, strategies for creating effective content, and the potential for massive income with minimal upfront investment.
TikTok Shop allows creators to get free products mailed to them, make a video promoting the product, and earn a commission on every sale generated through that video.
Beginner needs 5,000 followers on TikTok to join the affiliate program. Must be in an eligible country like the United States.
Successful videos counter the typical feed with a strong hook, demonstrate product use, and build trust through genuine, non-salesy tone.
Nick started TikTok Shop after moving from Hawaii to San Diego, in debt, and made $900 profit on his first day, then $59,000 in his first full month.
While running a 50-mile ultramarathon, Nick’s video hit 19 million views overnight, earning him $20,000 profit in one day. The product was a retractable car charger.
Nick's sister made $70,000 profit in her third month, and his mom made $28,000 in her second month, both with no prior TikTok experience.
Best products are those you personally use or want, solving your own problems. Authenticity and genuine belief in the product drive conversions.
Start with high volume to test, then narrow down to what works, focus on quality, and then expand again. Tiktok does not penalize for posting many videos.
Nick predicts 10+ years of growth for TikTok Shop, with other platforms like Instagram and YouTube likely to integrate similar features.
TikTok Shop offers a low-barrier opportunity for anyone to earn significant income by promoting products they genuinely like. The key is consistent posting, authentic content, and mastering the trust factor over hard selling.

22:46Shift from Influencer Marketing to Performance-Based
Explains why average people are currently making money while big influencers decline, a key market insight.
27:29[00:01] Everyone thinks influencer marketing is like the thing. It's dying like crazy. right now. I mean, while I was on the run, I was like, "What are you doing?" I run?" And he's like, "Your video is at like 19 million views at the time."
[00:14] and see how much you made from that." Cuz 19 million views is insane. you had posted the video? >> It was the night before. So, she tried it her second month she made 23 or $28,000 profit and no experience. She we
[00:28] made her download the Tik Tok app on her phone and she made 28 grand her second you go around your house right now, scan Tik Tok has a scanning feature, you can it's on Tik Tok, you could make money from that right now.
[00:41] >> Um, okay. So, once you scan, is it that simple? You just scan the product and Streamlined, click a link, and it will set you up with the affiliate could literally pull out my phone right now, make a video of that product, post
[00:53] now, make a video of that product, post it, and it could make me a ton of money. episode of the report. Today, I got someone who is doing big things uh in
[01:06] the business, in the online space, and this might be the best beginner opportunity in 2026. He personally went from zero to $50,000 in two months with about. I'm very, very excited to learn all about it. I got my man Nick Fowler
[01:20] >> What's up? I'm happy to be here, man. >> Dude, appreciate you coming on, man. And the Tik Tok shop stuff and everything you're doing, you are a full-time US uh >> Yeah, dude. >> Dude, thank you for the service, bro.
[01:35] >> What does that entail? >> Uh so we there there's a ton of things aviation rescue swimmer. So we're jumping out of the Hilos rescuing that. I was out in Hawaii for about four years doing that. Uh but we also door
[01:50] gunners were uh anti-ubmarine warfare, like tons of different stuff. Freaking for the service, dude. >> Uh, so you went from 0 to $50,000 in 2 >> with Tik Tok Shop. What is Tik Tok Shop? >> Tik Tok Shop is basically you get a free
[02:07] product mailed to your house from a company, a brand. It could be Crocs, it could be, you know, Ninja, uh, QVC is on there, and they just send you free stuff, and you get that product, you make a video of it, and every time that
[02:20] video makes a sale, you get a commission from that sale. Uh, so you know, you it depends on the price of the products you make. But if that video goes viral, you make a ton of money. It's pretty
[02:32] >> Yeah. Interesting. And so, uh, how many views typically do you need to get in >> That's a good question. I get that one a lot. So, it depends. Like I I just got a
[02:44] Roomba. They're on Tik Tok shop now. And I got 200 views, made a sale, and that thing's like $500. And so, I made like 50 bucks off 200 views, which is really crazy. And it varies like nuts. It's all dependent on like how well you are at
[02:56] content, right? And how good is that right now? Like there's a lot that goes into it. But uh it's I would say it's pretty typical. You know, every 2,000 3,000 views you're making a sale or so.
[03:09] >> Is Instagram doing this as well or is this solely just a Tik Tok thing? >> The way that Tik Tok is doing it is it's just Tik Tok. Like Instagram obviously has their like integration with Shopify, right? But it's so different in the fact
[03:22] itself. They have their own shop feature. It's just like Amazon but built into Tik Tok. So all you have to do as a buy now. Like there's probably a ton of people are probably watching this that
[03:34] very simple. And that's what's so dangerous about it for a consumer is because of it. And especially if you have a good creator that's converting you, like they're making a ton of money. >> Yeah, absolutely. So Tik Tok shop, let's
[03:47] say someone gets on Tik Tok and they're brand new. uh not a ton of followers, know, get to a position to where they can start landing these these collabs or >> So, it depends on the company, but if you're a beginner, you don't have any
[04:00] app, which is actually what my mom was. She never had the Tik Tok app. And what you want, you need 5,000 followers to start. Uh you can get into the program is where they allow you to post as much as you want, which is like the lottery
[04:15] more you post and you hit a viral video, the more often you're going to make money, right? So 5,000 followers is the threshold. You need to be in an eligible country like the United States for example, and you make, you know, you
[04:27] making sales. So >> the one thing I like about Tik Tok now with the algorithms, the algorithms are so good now. Um, you can put out a video on on any topic and if you have the right keywords, it will pick up on the
[04:39] the video as well and it will push it to the right audience if it's a good video. And so what what is the what is the key to structuring a good video that's going to structuring a good video that's going to get views but also uh you know go out
[04:51] >> It's all about countering yourself from what the typical feed looks like. So hook look? And this goes into just like basic concepts of of content, right? But drastic or do something that's different than what the previous thing that they
[05:06] saw in their feed. So, if it's whether, you know, if I'm trying to sell this microphone, for example, I could like throw it off a cliff and that would look crazy, right? But I need to get into the points of why they need to buy it and
[05:18] huge portions that a lot of people miss is like, how do I get this person to it for me. That's the whole reason that they're seeing this video other than, to, you know, close out the app and then just go and purchase it from Amazon,
[05:32] get them to trust me specifically, but you really need to hook them from the beginning. So you hook them and then you go into like kind of maybe a description how to use the product. You demonstrate it and then from there you go into
[05:44] them at that point. You're like, "Hey, this thing's on a huge discount. It's limited stock. Uh x y and z about why they need to buy it right now." And then because a lot of people have never bought from Tik Tok shop. So uh they'll
[05:58] where to go. And that's probably like, you know, you'll be like, "Hey, it's in the link down below." And and they'll have to uh actually use the link on your video in order for you to get that sale. >> Exactly. Yeah. So that's one that's one
[06:10] of the caveats to it is that like it's only on Tik Tok right like I mean you upload it to other platforms and people can still purchase from you which people have been doing recently which is pretty cool but it's really only integrated to
[06:22] Tik Tok right now. >> Yeah. We do uh heavy Instagram uh collabs and we we're going all in on influencer stays at our boutique hotels, to be the ones that have travel audiences, right? And so uh for example,
[06:36] owners, real estate investors, or people that are trying to get into business real estate. And so if I went and did like a collab at a hotel or at a restaurant, it's not the right audience for that. And so, um I think having the
[06:50] Uh, but if you think about the overall brand and growing it, you know, not just finding that the people that are successful at this are putting out they're putting out different types of content and then sprinkling this in?
[07:05] >> It totally depends. Like, you could have somebody who is promoting tech products somebody that's promoting skincare and do really well. It's all dependent on people buying right now, right? And those are going to do better. Uh but
[07:21] those also mean there's going to be more competition in those markets. So it's noticed for myself I sell tech products really well just because I resonate with those products more just like how I am. But you got to like find what you
[07:34] unique features that you have as a human being that you can leverage and make stories of like Miguel, there's this one guy Miguel who I work with. He has like construction worker, but he was like, I'm going to go into skincare products
[07:50] than who he is, but he made a ton of money off skincare because he has under eye bags and he used that product and it worked for him and he showcased that and he made a ton of money from it. So, it's like it's all dependent on like who you
[08:02] want to go for and like what suits the products that you're trying to pick. >> Yeah, that the Botox helps too with the eye stuff, man. Yeah. Yeah. I got on the Botox game uh 18 months ago. Game changer, bro. Um, okay. So, I want to
[08:14] hear the story, man. How did you go from in debt to making $50,000 profit each month, uh, and your story of your most viral video, 19 million views, uh, and making $20,000 in one day while running the San Diego 50-mi ultramarathon. I
[08:29] >> dude. Yeah, that's a So, this is kind of the start of my whole journey is, uh, business really whatsoever. I I've Didn't really know what I was doing. And
[08:42] I was doing that when I was moving from Hawaii to San Diego and the military was moving me and I was like, "Hey, I'm in a ton of debt." I was moving. I had like went into like debt with cars. It was like a it was a mess and even credit
[08:55] was like, "I need to make some money." So, I was kind of like back against the wall. I was like, I need to make some money here. And I was like, I'm going to dabble in some something that's that has low risk but high reward. and I heard
[09:07] about Tik Tok shop and I was like, "Hey, I could start this right now and just money I would have to put into this to start making it. And it was I thought that was crazy. I was like, I don't know another industry that's like that. And I
[09:19] TikTok account that I had already previously grown and started posting. And within my first I think it was 30 something days, it was January 1st,
[09:31] 2024, that was when I made $900 in a single crazy because I, you know, military income, don't don't make much money. Made $900 in a day off of a Tik Tok app. That's weird. I was like, I don't come
[09:44] Year's. And I was like, great way to celebrate New Year's. And then the next profit. And then the next day I made like $3,000 in profit. And then the next day I made like $8,000 in profit. I was like, what is going on? What's happening
[09:58] >> Damn. >> Uh, and then that whole month was like I made 59,000 in profit. my first full month doing Tik Tok shop and I was like what is this world? I made my yearly salary from the military on Tik Tok and
[10:10] that's like you know like you know it sounds fake but like that's like that actually happened to me and that's kind of like you know weird but then I was forever and so I was like I'm going to keep pushing it right and I was also
[10:23] training for an ultramarathon in San Diego. So that was a 50-mi ultra and I again I was continuing doing Tik Tok shop and I was midway through my run. My
[10:35] why are you calling me on my run? And I I answered it. He's like hey man like I'm not checking my phone. I'm running an ultramarathon. And he's like your time. >> Uh and he's like check your account and
[10:48] million views is insane. >> And how long was that period from when >> It was the night before. Damn. 24 hours overnight. Yeah, it was like overnight. I think it was either 16 or 19 million views. I can't remember exact. I'm
[11:01] pretty sure. But either way, like and I checked my phone and I was like, "Okay, I'll check it." Checked my phone and I made 20 grand in profit that just from >> Damn. >> It was like what is going on? That is
[11:14] >> That's insane. And uh so I ran that race as fast as I humanly could so I get home >> Oh my gosh. It was crazy. >> Yeah. What what uh product was that? There's a retractable car charger. So, random product. I needed it because I
[11:27] way, the best thing you can do for product research when you're trying to find products is find stuff you actually want and would use around your house. wanted and I was like, "Hey, I actually want that product." They only had like
[11:39] 50 sales at the time on TikTok. And um, and I was like, "Yeah, I'll get that converted immediately. Everyone was like, "I want that product." Because I so many people out there that are like me that wanted a retractable car
[11:51] charger, right?" or whatever. And uh yeah, it just worked out. made it perform so well? >> I honestly I look back at that video a lot and I honestly think that my editing skills I had no experience in that world
[12:05] really. So I didn't know what I was doing. So that looked awful, but my tonality in my video and how I came off was so genuine because it was and like I like, "Hey, like this video, this product's normally this price on Amazon.
[12:19] like I actually think this is pretty cool and people really resonated with that and trusted me and so they bought because of it. >> And do you typically do like what's the ideal call to action in these videos?
[12:31] to, right? And so it's like, you know, you got to give them value, have a good hook, you got to give a lot of value and then a very quick subtle call to action. actions? >> It's again the number one thing is you
[12:45] need to continue the trust. So if you feel like the urgency is going to take them away from that trust, you don't do it because the or the trust factor will actually convert them better than the urgency would have. So if you do want to
[12:57] kind of intuition. You have to feel out from your own tonality. Like look at your own self. Does that sound salesy? And if it does, then maybe don't do it. And this is very top offunnel content, right? But if you're going to add
[13:10] urgency, you really want to add like, you know, hey, like this thing's on a maybe a higher price, but right now this thing actually is like 50% off and I I And if you come off with that genuine like feeling and you be real with
[13:24] people, they purchase 10 times more than like the hard selling, which is pretty >> Did you come up with the uh price anchoring uh and maybe some sort of like offer or does the company tell you, hey, this is what you kind of have to play
[13:37] brand deals with these companies, then they can tell you what they want you to full creative freedom. You can do whatever you want. I could make a 5-second clip of the product and technically fulfill what I am obligated
[13:50] to by Tik Tok. Uh but obviously, why would you do that, right? So, it's like and price anchoring is a really good method, too. I that's what I did in that first video that went very viral. So, yeah. Uh it works psychologically, but
[14:04] careful with your tonality because TikTok like everyone's looking for the something and they want to get out of there. What what is price anchoring for >> Price anchoring is uh comparing what was a price to what the current price is.
[14:17] So, it's saying like, "Hey, for example, uh I got this thing for $45 on on Amazon. Right now on Tik Tok, this thing's 15." That that could be a good anchor. There's obviously different ways of doing that's how we do it on Tik Tok,
[14:30] versions. Like another good one would be, you know, to force someone into a decision. um yes or no would be like hey like normal pricing is is typically this you could say you know $100 but if you move forward right now right now only we
[14:45] >> Yeah. >> Okay cool man. So uh I'm curious your Tik Tok shop. >> That's the craziest part about >> That's the craziest part about [laughter] this. So yeah. So I I started
[15:00] [laughter] this. So yeah. So I I started doing it and my sister and I are very similar in the fact that we really like finding things to like obsess over. And ton, she was like, I got to start this thing. She started and she was comparing
[15:15] made money like almost right away. And she had to it was taking her three any money on this. This is like really sucks. And then she made 70 grand her third month on Tik Tok in profit. And again, that's her whole yearly salary
[15:31] right there in a single month. And she had again no experience in Tik Tok. And is going to be like, that's so fast. To her, it took so long because she's comparing herself to other people like myself that were having it so quick. And
[15:44] then after that, my mom was like, I kind of want to try now cuz like she was >> Your mom liked the 70 bag. like, I don't like this. This is freaky. This is like, you know, she's a
[15:56] of thing. And so, she's like, I don't like this. But then when she saw like okay, I want to start trying this. So, she tried it. Her second month, she made 23 or $28,000 profit. >> And no experience. She We made her
[16:10] and she made 28 grand her second month. >> Pretty crazy. Nuts. Yeah. So that happened and then um and then now my two years now. And >> what's the most you've ever heard of
[16:24] someone making in one month? >> Funny. So right now currently that's been public about it. Uh there's a girl Kayla, she's watching this probably. She >> 400,000 >> in in commission off of product sales on
[16:39] Tik Tok with her audience on Tik Tok. Crazy. Uh, and she again full-time Tik Tok shop affiliate just posting a ton of Tik Tok shop videos just like mass posting, right? And that's number one. 400 and something thousand. I know
[16:52] there's somebody else that's about to that did or is going to announce probably over 600k is my guess. I don't know actually myself, but I know it's it's up there with hers. But >> So, uh, but your whole family's making
[17:06] obviously like the everyday person can can get into the game and do this. Uh, mistake that you see people uh make when they get into this game? stopping. Like, there are so many people that just try to quit it. Like, cuz they
[17:20] they're like, I'm not seeing success. They see all these people making tons of anybody. They're like, they're making a ton of money. I'm not. I'm tired of this. I quit. And to be honest, like, if
[17:32] products, you will make good money. and you just need to master those two things and that's it. Like everyone focuses on all these really weird kind of side quest things and they get distracted and then they end up not making money for
[17:45] they're like I didn't I didn't have success that never worked and you know it's just that's not how it works. But anybody can it's just you need to master >> Is it best to use a product that you already use personally?
[17:59] >> 100%. Yeah. That's why I tell everybody I everybody I coach, I'm like, if you go Tok has a scanning feature, you can scan the items around your home and if it's on TikTok, you could make money from that right now.
[18:11] >> right. If you already use it, you believe in it, the video is probably some good storytelling behind it as well. Um, like for example, like you well. Um, like for example, like you know, I love I love boats. So shoot, if
[18:26] probably not something that they would sell on Tik Tok shop, but you know, maybe there's some sort of like material or supply for boat cleaning or something like that that's unique that maybe gets pushed out to a bunch of boat owners. I
[18:38] don't know. Um, okay. So once you scan, is it that simple? You just scan the literally just get Streamlined, click a link, and it will set you up with the >> Yeah, basically. So, if you're in the program and if I were to scan this water
[18:51] phone, it'll be like, "Yep, this is on Tik Tok shop." Like, add it to your showcase is what it's called, and that showcase will be like the products that your showcase, I could literally pull up my phone right now, make a video of that
[19:03] ton of money within >> And and how long does it typically take to get set up? Like, because you got to give them uh bank account stuff and all >> Yeah. So, uh, once you have the account set up, which, you know, only could take
[19:17] like a day or whatever, they'll they'll once they approve you for the program, you know, put in your bank information. Takes like however long, and then uh you the week, honestly. >> What's the most expensive thing that you
[19:31] >> Funny enough, there was a guy that just posted a sauna. He got a at home sauna, $2,000 sauna, and he got delivered for free from Tik Tok. These kid's like 18 >> He's got a sauna delivered to his house. It's like two grand. Obviously, like,
[19:46] Amazon. So, you're not going to get more than likely I think Amazon's actually pushing like really highriced products now. But think of Amazon products. Tok shop. So, you can get really expensive stuff like uh Meta Rayban
[19:58] glasses, DJI products are on Tik Tok. So, we'll we'll promote like DJI stuff or um the Meta Ray-B bands. Crocs uh PlayStations on there. So, I'll promote off of it. >> Damn, that's cool. So, if someone's
[20:12] looking for the best ROI productwise, you said it was two things. Content, get good products. So, if someone's like, "Hey, I don't have any good products want to go browse other products that have the best ROI. What's the best way
[20:27] >> They have to look at theirelves. So, like, what do you like and what are you you can use to sell? Everybody's different. So, that's why I say like, somebody, but it might not work for you. And so you need to look at yourself in a
[20:41] something I can really showcase in a unique fashion um that solves a problem? That's a huge part. And can I solve my own problems with these products? Like, uh, I don't have a mop. Okay. Well, here's a really cool and good mop that
[20:55] you actually wanted. If it's on TikTok, you should promote. Like, that's how I go about it. Think about your own world and and sell stuff like that. Like, you thing that you might work in. Like we were talking about the construction guy,
[21:09] mean he has to promote construction material, right? But it could relate to something that maybe he has a flaw in. Look at your own flaws. That's a huge like quote unquote flaw on yourself or something, maybe it's visually or just
[21:22] mentally something and there's a product that could fix that or or promotes that product and use it and showcase it solving that problem because you will actually believe. >> Yeah. And how about volume? Like you
[21:37] mentioned this this one gal did $400,000 in a month. Um what are some of the bigger numbers that you're seeing people do, you know, annually in Tik Tok shop? >> There's a methods to to doing. So you could do a ton of volume on one account.
[21:51] posting 100 [snorts] plus videos a day, which is insane on one account on Tik penalize you for posting. Yeah. So it's very unique in that feature. So, there's account, but there's also people that are like diversifying to multiple
[22:06] accounts and posting on four or five accounts and they're just like mass account will hit and go crazy and then another account will hit and go crazy. So, there's like that method too. >> Yeah. So, uh, do you believe that the
[22:21] better path is to post as much as you can volume or just like try to go a little bit lower volume but put out the best quality photo, uh, the best quality >> That goes into the debate of quality and quantity. I think, and I think even
[22:34] love I love him. >> Love Brier. Shout out to >> Brier Cochran. He's uh I really like he kind of mentioned this and it works very similar to Tik Tok shop is like the kind of accordion effect of like your content
[22:46] of accordion effect of like your content of how you can uh kind of very narrow it things that have previously worked and like the data that shows that these styles and these formats and these products are working for you and then
[22:59] it down and kind of lower the quantity and then focus on the quality. And then pull it back out and then see, okay, let's test out more things again. And worked again, narrow it down again on that. That's what my sister's doing. And
[23:15] she's making backto-back 100k months in profit off of it. So that's what she's I'm going to go back every month and study the things that worked and then narrow it down one a couple months and then know the next months I'm going to
[23:27] kind of it depends on what phase you're in. new content creators will ask me like, "Hey, like, how do I know what's going the best way to to do that is to actually go post every day for 90 days."
[23:41] And now you have 90 days worth of content that you can study and see what that's working good, double down on the stuff that doesn't work, you can nyx. business. You every 3 months, you know, you as a business owner, real estate
[23:54] your personal life, you should be doing and not working, right? the things that are working, let's double down on it. that are not working, how can we eliminate those things, cut it out, or
[24:07] that sort of thing. And that's really the game right there, man. You know, okay. And so, dude, it's crazy because it's such a big thing. I've personally I long has this thing been around, man?
[24:20] 2023 it got uh kind of announced to only few c few creators but then they mass opened it up in um like I think late 2023 which was when I got on I got onto it like super early and again it's still super early like I mean it's a in China
[24:36] don't know China is a 4 trillion dollar social e-commerce uh market they like their version of Tik Tok which is called I think Dawwin is their version they Really? >> Yeah. It's a market in the US. It's
[24:51] growing dramatically. I'm I'm about to make a YouTube video about this because since they launched that feature, it's just skyrocketing their that market. So everyone's expecting that we're going to kind of do what t what China's doing in
[25:06] that regard. So I think that that's what's that's what's happening. So it's around for what two years I think now. Um, and I think it's gotten maybe another 10 plus years until something
[25:19] drastic in the world of social media shifts. Uh, but I think 100% YouTube and Instagram are going to build their own features that we're work because they're They've already announced it, I think, on on Instagram, but
[25:33] >> And so, is that the future? Instagram's going to try to do it. Uh, YouTube's going to do it >> 100%. Yeah. 100%. I I would be shocked if and it's funny enough Mr. Beast was actually talking about this and I 100%
[25:47] see this happening. There's a thing where a person could like pause a video video right now could pause this video and then they see this microphone, they buy now and purchase it and it gets delivered to their door. I see that
[25:59] being the future of social commerce, social e-commerce. Like that's just that wouldn't happen. >> This is the Sure SM7B microphone by the way in case anyone's curious. Best best microphone for podcasting. And fun fact,
[26:11] uh, Michael Jackson used this, uh, uh, microphone to record Thriller back in >> yeah. It's the mic's been around forever. Joe Rogan uses it. All the all the top podcasts use it, but it's been in the game for decades and decades,
[26:24] They're great. >> Yeah. So, uh, how do you see it evolving you mentioned it's got a 10-y year lifespan. How do you see it evolving? I I mean I think that every social platform is going to integrate their own
[26:39] version or one platform is going to monopolize the whole idea of it and and companies will spread it across to other platforms on their own. So like you could upload it to that platform like say it's whatever the name is.io io or
[26:52] whatever and you could take your your piece of content that you made and you will give it to the brand and they will distribute it across Instagram, YouTube, uh Facebook, Tik Tok and whatever the commission is that you make, you will
[27:05] kind of already doing. A lot of brands are already doing that, but it's not to the mass scale like anything that anyone would truly because everyone's still in now. Everyone thinks influencer marketing is like the thing. It's dying
[27:17] like crazy. So, everyone's going performance-based right now. And so, they're all going, "Okay, how can I get a normal average person to sell and make a lot of money cuz everyone wants to buy from the person that they seem like,
[27:29] look like, or act like." And no one no one really relates to Kim Kardashian to to that cuz it's such a different lifestyle than a lot of people. And so, don't even know who I am. And that's kind of kind of by design. like they
[27:44] like me, acts like me, they're going to want to purchase from me. And so the average person is making all the money right now. And that's the huge shift. out, which they're kind of doing right now, is when the the market like floods
[27:58] money. >> Yeah. Do you think that like with this space traditionally 99% of people online are consuming, and by the way, it's 4.8 billion people that use social media.
[28:13] that number's probably gone up now. Um, and then 1% are creating. Do you think that number will shift as this evolves to where we have something closer like 10% creating? >> I don't think that it will. No, I think
[28:28] the unless there's a huge cultural shift in the world where like that feeling of a 9 to5 and and stuff goes away, which I don't think that will personally. I I
[28:40] it'd be great in a lot of ways, but I just don't think that that mindset will ever really shift, at least in our lifetimes. So, I think it always will be like 1%. Or maybe it will grow because maybe they people see like the average
[28:53] money and the influencers, the the big influencers are kind of not as much uh anymore. If they see that and it's truly in front of their face enough, they might shift into it. Um cuz I mean, I was that person like I was like, I'm not
[29:05] influencer, but now the average people are. So, I think if that becomes the case, we could see a growth in that regard, but I don't think it will truly >> I'm curious for the um the platforms,
[29:18] Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook. We know as the platforms, you know, evolve, they And so, they want to keep people on the on the platform scrolling. um they make a lot of their money off paid ads, but with this Tik Tok shop thing, you would
[29:32] think that the companies running paid ads traditionally are going to cut back on their ad spend because now they got influencers doing it for free. I'm make money when so many people are doing it? They did they take a split off of
[29:44] >> Yeah. So, they they take a cut of the sale. So, there's there's fees. So, Tik because they were giving it so much incentive to get the platform up and moving and it worked. And so they still do a ton of like discounts for brands
[30:00] crazy to get on that platform. So they're like, "Hey, we'll discount and product." It's like insane. They're like, "We'll pay for that," which is pretty odd. And I mean, it's good. And so they're doing that, but they're also
[30:15] taking fees from the sales as well. So um it's kind of a huge thing for a brand to get growth, but it's also not right now the best thing for them to stay on them to get the exposure and get the sales, but really it's like, you know,
[30:29] Shopify, Amazon that are really getting them their their huge profit margins that's what I've noticed. >> Yeah. Um, you mentioned you keep mentioning like profit, right? So, gross and then and then net profit. What What
[30:42] are the expenses that come out of being a a Tik Tok shop creator? kind of crazy part about it. That's like kind of the nicest thing about it. you you could literally pick up your phone, make a video, make commission from the
[30:55] products you're selling, and it be that simple. Like, people over complicate it. In reality, it's very simple. Like, make a really interesting, fun video, show people why they need to buy this product and and then post it and then you make
[31:08] commission and then obviously pay taxes or whatever. But yeah, I think a lot of think, man, I got to I got to, you know, overthink and I got to get all this stuff and have editors. cuz I'm like, "No, no, no, dude. All you need is a is
[31:22] an iPhone." And uh another cool thing I like about this new iPhone 17 is uh it's got this cool feature where you can be shooting on this camera, the main camera, and then the camera that's facing you uh can also dual record. And
[31:37] so you can be featuring like a walkthrough uh or a product or even like show your reaction right here. And so you're talking to the audience while at. I've been doing that for my stories and I actually did a real like a walk
[31:50] through my boat a couple weeks ago in Catalina and I did that that exact uh >> That's actually I So I've heard of that but now that you're thinking of it going to when we leave here I'm going to go and film with some videos like that
[32:04] what everyone else is doing cuz most people aren't doing that and so I'll be product if I wanted to. >> Yeah, it's it's a huge hack on this new iPhone 17 Plus. Literally, you just when you hit your video button, there's these
[32:16] dots in the top right hand corner. You click that and it says dual. You hit you literally just start shooting. It will shoot what you're looking at, but it will also shoot your reaction on your face. So, I was in Catalina uh two weeks
[32:29] views. I just did a boat tour. So, I went through my whole boat, two-minute video. Um, and it had my reaction here while I was showing the audience exactly what I was looking at, the bedrooms, the stateaterooms, the cockpit, um, all my
[32:42] literally just put like some subtitles to it and I just fire it off as a real so this feature of your content creator uh is going to be a big hit and I I'm I'm the only person that I've seen online using it. And it's great for
[32:57] like organic content and have people, you know, get to know you a little bit have to flip-flop, right? You'd be like, "Okay, like you're looking at what I'm looking at." But it's like one or the other. Now you just it's literally nice
[33:11] and everyone can see what you're looking at. They can see your reaction. It's great brand building and I'm shocked that nobody is using this feature. So, Plus or you don't have one, go get one. It might even be on the new iOS. I don't
[33:24] this feature. It's big, >> dude. That's great. The the thing with that too, I've noticed the psychological trigger of seeing someone's face too. Like even in like Tik Tok shop content, I have that too where like you can you
[33:38] perfectly fine. And a lot of my most viral videos are not showing my face at all. But if you can show your face in some kind of capacity that doesn't will actually help build that trust factor more because there's a
[33:51] of if I'm going to buy something from this person, I want to see what they >> So it's like kind of like that with that. That's like kind of people are like how like what does he look like?" Right? This is kind of like nice to see
[34:03] you behind the screen, too. But all but not distract from that thing that you're >> anyone can do this. And um yeah, and so I think for the folks that are doing Tik >> That's smart. >> Yeah, I like that.
[34:15] >> So uh you're doing the you're doing the Navy stuff swimming and you mentioned before we started recording Tik Tok shop is retiring you out of the Navy. >> Oh yeah, I'm getting out. I'm getting So it's funny. I Everybody I'm like I'll
[34:28] like I'm doing this at work or whatever." And they think it's crazy. crazy. >> They think it's like they're like this is weird, whatever. But uh but they're also like they they've been you know
[34:40] military their whole careers. I've been in for 9 years now or going on 9 years. And so like everyone I work around has been in for 9 plus you know 20 years. familiar with this lifestyle or these these things. And so when I talk about
[34:54] that much like you're making that much money like and they try to learn like learn as well. And then um dude it's just it's wild. Like yeah it's crazy. be like, "Hey, dude, like how do I do this, too?" Oh, yeah. My wife My wife
[35:08] >> Yeah. All the time. It's funny because like It's funny cuz I I I do a lot of TikTok after work, right? Like I do it all after work. I have to leave work and then I work on my business. And it's like I get almost all my day taken away
[35:22] from me, which sucks. But uh and I would quit right now, but I can't because I'm under contract. The military owns me. But uh but they they don't understand that like I need to prioritize this right now for myself and I obviously
[35:35] work early. I'll skip out early. And like they're probably going to see this, I I got to leave out I got to leave out and work. Um and they'll be like, "Hey, got to stay here." And I'll be like, "Let me ask you a question. If you were
[35:49] could make three grand, would you stay here or would you go home?" And they're was like, "Cool. I'm going to leave." You're on your lunch break right now, >> Yeah, like >> it's funny because uh Well, how how have
[36:02] >> Yeah. So, they already have my separation papers. Uh even even my high you need to go and pursue this." I was like, "Let me out early if I can." You >> I was uh I was working full-time air traffic control for 11 years. Um you
[36:17] business and I was doing the real estate stuff on the side for a while. Um, and then so I know I know what you're what you're going through. And then uh the I was like, "Hey, one day I was like, I'm not going to go back." So I told
[36:31] him, I said, "Hey, uh, December, end of the year, I'm out." And so, you know, like one foot in, one foot out. It felt good to go in cuz I knew it was like, of the tunnel, but at the same token, I was kind of checked out mentally.
[36:45] to this whole world of business, right? It's like it's only been two years for me, but like I'm excited for that. I'm like I'm trying to, you know, pursue. I want to really dive my time into it and um and really dedicate to it fully. So,
[36:57] >> I love it. Nick, this has been amazing, dude. Appreciate you coming on. Uh where they want to learn more about Tik Tok shop and even learn about your offer that you have teaching other people how to uh become a Tik Tok shopper?
[37:11] People can look at that. I also uh if people want to, they can DM me about how Instagram and uh I'll get them in touch and obviously I have a program I can >> I love it, dude. I love it. Uh he's Nick Fowler. Always dropping game and uh good
[37:25] luck on the retirement, my man. I'm Rich Summer's listeners. Thanks for tuning. We'll see you guys on the next one. Peace.
