I Took My Entire Family on a Dream Trip to Africa

[00:03] family to Africa. And if you are expecting the typical family vacation, uh, this is not that. Growing up, we were only shown one side of Africa. So, we have made it our mission to discover the truth. And in doing this, of course,

[00:17] I had to set a few rules. Commandment number one, thou shalt not hold back. We are experiencing everything Africa has to offer, including the slums. Commandment number two, thou shalt shed at least one tear. And let's be honest,

[00:30] it's probably going to be me. And the final commandment, thou shalt not leave final commandment, thou shalt not leave Africa without leaving a mark. [Music] When you step outside of your world, you

[00:42] realize how much more there is. And on this trip, we're about to find out. So, this trip, we're about to find out. So, let's go to Africa. Welcome to Nairobi. This is Jamok International Airport. We landed in Nairobi late at night and as

[00:56] soon as we stepped off the plane, there was music playing, dancers moving and a was music playing, dancers moving and a big welcome sign waiting.

[01:10] Marriott. I think the JW stands for just wow, because that's exactly what I said when a robot rode up to us offering us drinks. You want a drink, D?

[01:31] woke up this morning feeling like African royalty. Excuse me, we feel like African royalty. At this point, I feel like I could be king of Nairobi. Well, sir, the kingdom is definitely calling. So, we headed downstairs because we had

[01:45] places to be and our driver pulled up right on time. Nah, I knew this was a family trip and we are tight, but I didn't realize we were about to get this didn't realize we were about to get this close. We tight up in here. Our driver

[01:58] was taking us through Nairobi, giving us the full experience. One minute we're riding past the president's house, and the next he says, "I want to show y'all something real." He pulled up to Kabida, the largest slum in East Africa. No

[02:11] filters, no warning, just raw life happening in front of us. This is our lovely tour guide taking us around. And what is your name? Did I get I make sure by the time we we entering evening, you people are very happy. Very happy. I

[02:25] love it. We didn't go deep that day, but the view is stayed with us. And what we didn't know, we be coming back here on our last day for something unforgettable. Welcome to Kenya. Let me tell you

[02:37] something. Kenya does not give you time to process anything. We went from the to process anything. We went from the slums to Yep. This is real life. What are you doing, Monica? Nothing. Just walking around in Nairobi and happened

[02:49] to come across a baboon right here next to me. Can you see what I see? They are all around. Huh? They all around us. Baboons are all around us. Crazy. Look at this. All across the street. What you think of that, Dad?

[03:08] believe this. Look at this little baboon right here. After surviving our baboon encounter, we finally made it to the encounter, we finally made it to the Messiah market.

[03:22] moment we walked in, the Messiah rolled out the royal treatment. They dressed us in tradition, in pride, in power. You feel like a king? I feel like king of Kenya.

[03:36] Then one of the Messiah warriors let out this powerful growl. And of course, my husband thought he could match it.

[03:48] his sounded a little bit like his engine wouldn't

[04:01] Come on. [Music] [Music] You got to give this a try.

[04:20] man. Look at that man. Oh, wow. Wow. Look at you. Look at you, baby. Come on here. Now, you already know what time it is. It's time to bargain. So, Kelvin is over here bargaining.

[04:33] Look at it whispering. This is a top secret bargaining going on right now out here in Kenya. In Kenya. Where we at, man? In Kenya. So, Kelvin loves this painting here and

[04:48] he trying to work with the man to get the praise out. They whisper attention. This was some serious negotiating going on.

[05:03] So, which is cool. So, the final price is $1.95 for the paint. 195 with all the other stuff we got. All right. With a good steal. I can't tell you the price. All right. A good nice steel. All right. All right. And this is the painting that

[05:16] All right. And this is the painting that he worked on from the 450 to the 195. So, basically the lesson, you can always go. We wrapped up our very first full day in Kenya with laughs, culture, and way too many souvenirs. But this was

[05:31] only the beginning. Tomorrow we head from the city to the wild, and you are from the city to the wild, and you are not ready for what's

[05:45] are wondering, first and foremost, Mon'nique, why are you up so early? And then, girl, why are you so hyped? And that is because while the rest of the right now, but we are getting ready to go on the adventure of a lifetime. Who

[05:59] needs sleep when a lion's waiting for us in Africa? So, one thing we cannot do is go to the jungle looking uninvited. So, I grabbed my jungle best and before I could even put the blouse on, Kelvin stepped in front like not on my watch. I

[06:12] quickly finished getting dressed, belt, scarf, boots, and of course the watch because we need to make sure that the animals know what time it is when we are there cuz it's hitting time. We headed downstairs to grab the breakfast bags

[06:26] the hotel pack for us because nothing says safari morning like a croissant in a paper sack. And then our ride pulled up, not a van this time, a green safari truck. Now it's getting real. So feel free. We are going to drive to Masara

[06:41] right away. All right. Yeah. So, it it's about 6 hours without traffic, so it's not that bad. Okay. 6 hours might sound long, but not with our driver. You're just flying through stuff. Yeah. What we doing about 100 hours? And before you

[06:56] know it, we made it to our first pit stop in the middle of nowhere. I mean, we are in the elements, y'all. We are in the midst of everything. The people are They walking on the way to work right now. um to help the kids out here headed

[07:10] to school. So, we hope that you are enjoying it and we are ready. Let's go. So, we got back in the truck, but wait a minute. Can't leave my phone. And after four more hours of bumpy roads, small towns, and some very questionable sites,

[07:25] we finally made it. Welcome to the Messiah Mara. Named after the Messiah people who have lived here for centuries, it is one of the most iconic wildlife reserves in Africa. This is where the great migration takes place

[07:38] and where the big five make their home. So before we went in, we had to pop the top of the truck so we can get up close and personal with nature. And as soon as we rolled through the gates, we already spotted the first animals. Zebras. And

[07:52] just like that, the mission was on. Spot the big five. If you don't know, the big five are the most iconic animals out here. Elephants, lions, buffaloos, leopards, and rhinos. And if we see all five, that's like hitting a safari

[08:06] jackpot. So, we have just spotted one of the big five. We are on a mission to spot all of them. Do you think we can? Let's find out. Listen, when you are standing up in a moving safari truck trying to get that perfect giraffe shot.

[08:19] Well, that's how you lose a head in a safari. I call myself standing up while we driving and it just was gone with the wind. I was out there feeling cute, but clearly the animals disagreed. Yeah, we're trying to be very quiet cuz I

[08:31] don't know if they going to attack and it looks like they about to attack something. So, we are out here watching them rain or should I say rest. It was them rain or should I say rest. It was wild, beautiful, and a little awkward

[08:45] because as we all sat there in silence just watching, then out of nowhere, our driver says, "All right, time for lunch." and drops us off in the middle of the jungle. The whole family just got dropped off in the middle of the safari.

[09:00] Look at her. And had the nerve to set up a little blanket. No guards, just a blanket and some boiled eggs. They gave us something from the army of the Lord better than this. Don't put this on my Jesus. It's a wrap. It's a chicken wrap.

[09:14] How it taste? Dad said, "I'm going to eat." Huh? It tastes all right. That look like bread. Huh? It's a wrap. Some kind of They wrap something up for you. There you go. You want the body? Oh, you going

[09:28] to eat it? Oh, dad said, "Y'all want y'all?" And there was lunch, y'all. The most unpredictable meal I have ever had. But we hurried and got back in the truck before we became somebody else's lunch. And we set out to find the rest of the

[09:41] Big Five. Can y'all guess what's behind me? Drop it in the comments. Let me know what you think it is. And listen, it did not take long. Lions just chilling. One of them still had blood on his teeth like it just finished eating. And

[09:57] clearly I wasn't the only one soaking it in because my brother, he stepped right in because my brother, he stepped right into his once in a lifetime moment.

[10:20] here on Broadway. Well, you know what? We are making life our stage. This lion is laying on his back. I don't know what he went out there and just did, but my baby needs some rest. Okay. And then he have his legs bust wide open. I mean,

[10:33] stretched. And just like that, the circle of life continued. A few feet away, the hyenas were already moving in, finishing what the lion started. And the adventure didn't stop there because next thing you know, we were stuck. Oh lord.

[10:48] We didn't we ran out of gas. Wait a minute. Now, we didn't actually run out of gas, but in that moment, it surely did feel like it. You say you can share that water. No, I don't want to know about

[11:00] you have to drink. Y'all know elephants are one of my so majestic and beautiful. And just when I thought the moment couldn't get any better, the whole herd started moving.

[11:12] It was like magic. Down the hill, into the water, like something out of a documentary. And if that wasn't enough, a whole crew of hippos were already in the water just chilling like deep in relaxation mode. It was wild, but it was

[11:28] peaceful, powerful, but calm. This is the kind of beauty that they don't show you enough. But the day wasn't over just yet, because next we did something we weren't even sure we were allowed to do. We made our way to the border of Kenya

[11:43] We made our way to the border of Kenya and Tanzania, or as some say, Tanzania. The sign literally said international boundary, no entry into Tanzania. But something about that moment said cross anyway. So yeah, we are in Tanzania

[11:57] right now. We literally just crossed the border to be able to come in here. How country right now. I I don't know what to say. You know what to say. The possibilities, man. Endless if you if you put your mind. And in that moment,

[12:11] we did what came naturally. We lifted our voices and our praises together. our voices and our praises together. [Music]

[12:51] life. We didn't get to see all of the big five, but what we did get was something way bigger. A connection to the land, to each other, to something we didn't even know we were missing. But listen, the day wasn't over just yet.

[13:05] Because while everybody else thought we were heading home. All right. I know. I I'm not the one who picked this. All right. So, nobody blame me for anything. right. We were sleeping in the middle of the jungle tonight. Like real jungle.

[13:21] When we got inside these lodges, we even had to sign waiverss because the animals roam freely around the property. And they definitely warned us and told us to lock the doors because the baboons, yes, they will come in. So, we had to get

[13:34] escorted to our rooms. And I was doing what I do best, singing for protection. what I do best, singing for protection. The lights. Yes, indeed. So, we dropped our bags, freshened up, and headed to meet the family in the

[13:49] and headed to meet the family in the dining area. and the lights keep going out on us. They blinking on and off. We had to eat countdown to lights out had already begun. But before we left, the staff

[14:05] came out and gave us the warmest welcome with a song we'll never forget.

[14:20] wait. Uh-oh. That's what I told you. Wait, wait, what? Wait, what happened? I running. I don't know what that was. It could have been a monkey. I don't know. could have been a monkey. I don't know. They said Wait, what? Wait. Okay.

[14:34] They said Wait, what? Wait. Okay. What? What is wrong with you? out there? You going to get it? I know. Let's go.

[14:51] This is on the outside of our room. There's nothing but literally Msiah Mara jungle. You saw anything out there? Yeah, it's some elephant. Sometime elephant. The elephant and blue and the zebras. So they have elephants

[15:05] zebras. So elephants. Elephant, buffaloos, and zebras. And buffalo. Yeah. Oh lord. Get me to this room. All right. Now it is go time. We have

[15:17] less than an hour before the hot water shuts off and 2 hours before the lights go completely out. So y'all, we settled into our hut in the middle of the freaking jungle. And I said, "Let me come outside and see what it looks like

[15:30] and show you." This is absolutely amazing. You probably can't see much because it's dark. And they said the baboons and all the other animals are baboons and all the other animals are out here. Let me see. Can you see? Yeah.

[15:43] out here. Let me see. Can you see? Yeah. So, right over here is forest. You can't see that well, but there's a stream down there that the elephants go and drink from and the buffaloos and they can actually cross it and come

[15:56] right here in front of our house. So, let me go back inside, but I had to bring you out to be able to come and see this. And then they have baboons out here. And just like that, we spent the night in the wild. And tomorrow, the

[17:35] to our day. In fact, it is currently 3:06 in the morning. Why you up early because today is about to be absolutely legendary. We are getting ready to go on a hot air balloon across the savannah. Now, listen, waking up at 3:00 a.m. was

[17:51] already wild, but unzipping a mosquito net in the dark, that's another level. So, we met up with the family, climbed into another safari jeep, and hit the road again. It was dark, it was bumpy, there were animals, there were no

[18:07] lights, just stars overhead and a whole lot of praying. So, we are currently in the next safari jeep headed to our hot air balloon. And it's a bumpy ride, y'all. I'm going left, I'm going right. I don't know if I'm up, I'm down, but we

[18:21] I don't know if I'm up, I'm down, but we here. And we are excited to be going. Now, for some reason, we keep getting dropped off in the middle of nowhere. Like, why do they trust us to survive out here? Out here in the middle of the

[18:34] jungle right now. Look at We're literally in the wilderness. Look at this. Oh my god. Nothing. You can't see nothing. So, after submitting our next set of waiverss, we met up with our pilot and he had to go over a breakdown

[18:48] of instructions and how we can stay safe in this jungle. This is my compartment. Okay. Okay, I have all my inflation tanks, all my gadgets, ropes, everything Okay, please don't touch anything on that side. Okay, on the right and the

[19:04] left hand side of the basket, we have two compartments on each side. I will divide you in groups. We are seven passengers. Yes. So, two, two, one, and two. Okay. Then my parents were up first. They got into the hot air balloon

[19:20] while it was still on its side. while it was being filled with air. Yep. Laying on your back getting inflated along with the balloon. Now that is a trust I don't think I had. But once they got everything afloat, it was our turn. And

[19:33] we all went over there to climb in nervous, excited, all of it. And before nervous, excited, all of it. And before we knew it, we were up.

[19:53] honestly, I have no real words to explain. But as I looked around and saw the joy in my parents' face, our brother, they were all just glowing. And

[20:05] in that moment, I couldn't help it. I cried, not for me, but for them. So that's commandment number two. Somebody had to cry. And yep, it was me. But as

[20:17] we floated over the jungle, we spotted some animals. We got so close to trees that I literally could put my hand out and touch it. We even saw a leopard way off in the distance. Now that's super rare. I didn't catch it on camera, but

[20:31] trust me, it was there. We are officially flying over the Messiah Mara right now. And I'm telling you, these views are absolutely insane. This is amazing. This is a once in a-lifetime experience. This is something that you

[20:44] the moment that you realize that Africa is nothing like you see on TV. So, after about 30 more minutes, it was time for us to land. And we had to sit down and grab onto the rope. Now, the pilot prepared us and said it was going

[21:00] to be a bumpy landing, and we bounced about three times until we flipped over. about three times until we flipped over. We just landed up.

[21:14] and we all had to climb our way out of that thing. Legs in the air, hair all over, but it was so worth it. Getting out was a whole another story. But listen, we survived and it was worth every single second. There is nothing

[21:29] that can beat this experience right here. Absolutely amazing. It takes the cake, y'all. What you say? There's a lot of cakes. What you say, baby? There's a lot of cakes. A strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, and this takes them all.

[21:44] Oh, I had the shades over the thing. We just landed in the middle of nowhere. Look at y'all. Y'all in the middle of nowhere. So, after crash landing like some true adventurers, we hopped back in the safari jeep. And yes, the pilot came

[21:58] with us because they had something set up next that was about to take everything to a whole new level. They brought us to this open clearing in the middle of the wilderness and a breakfast setup out here in the wild like full on

[22:13] restaurant in the savannah vibes. After washing our hands, you know, we started this meal off with prayer. Thank you for your praise for what you've done for us people over here who prepared this meal for us. God, let us eat this meal, God.

[22:41] The kind that remind you you really out here living. They say breakfast is the you are having it in the middle of the jungle with the sun rising and the animals roaming free is also the most special breakfast of the day. Oh, and

[22:55] did I mention we graduated from flying over the Masai Mara officially certified [Applause] [Music]

[23:18] breakfast, we thought we were full, but now it was time to feed our souls. Next now it was time to feed our souls. Next stop, the legendary Messiah Village.

[23:31] are getting to know the people who have lived in harmony with this land out here in Africa for centuries. They welcome us in with history. Back in the day, you didn't need a diary to get married. You needed strength. Kill a lion, get a

[23:46] wife. Kill two lions, you go twice. Three lions, you got three wives. Oh, wow. They even showed us their ancient horn used to alert the village. One sound for danger, one sound for celebration. Lucky for us, we got the

[24:01] celebration. Lucky for us, we got the happy one. After that, they performed their ceremonial welcome dance.

[24:17] was out there jumping with the best of them. [Applause] Y'all, they didn't just invite us into the village. They invited us inside their homes as well. It was built by the

[24:32] women out of cow dung. Yeah, I said it. Cow dung. So, what we never does, Masian, we never built houses. It is the work of women. Women build houses. They

[24:44] take care of the young kids. They should cook for us. And they walk also 2 km away from here to fetch water using the litters over here. And yet it was one of

[24:56] the most peaceful places I've ever been in. Kind of tight. Low ceiling and love everywhere you looked. The living room, kitchen, bedroom were basically all in the same space. And yet it worked. And they all live as one community. Strong,

[25:12] resilient, united. And when I say strong, they explain to us where they get their strength from. They drink cow blood mixed with milk. That's where they blood you mix with the fresh milk and then you drink. So milk and blood mix to

[25:27] drink. Very good for health. It makes us strong. They offered it to Kelvin. But you know Kelvin wasn't about to drink that. I want to show you how making fire. Okay. And no lighters, no matches, just sticks and centuries of tradition.

[25:41] It took less than a minute. Now, they tried to sell Kelvin a knife. And if you know anything about us by now, you know that man loves to bark. Let's just say they met their match. And this was another highlight of our visit. We got

[25:54] to meet the chief and his first wife. He to meet the chief and his first wife. He actually has 12 wives and 55 children. At the end, they brought us to their market where they sell handcrafted items

[26:06] to support the village. But instead of shopping, we decided to donate. We gave them every single thing that we had to give in our wallets. And at the end of the day, we came to the other side of the village and my dad was sitting there

[26:19] surrounded by other villagers. Look over here, Chief. D, you got to look over here. And just like that, we wrapped up one of the most humbling, powerful, and unforgettable experiences of this entire trip. Next stop, back to Nairobi. But

[26:37] trip. Next stop, back to Nairobi. But the journey is far from over. our wake up in the morning, but that's because we had a flight to catch and we were not about to miss Mombasa. And let me just say, anytime you have to walk

[26:52] outside to board your plane, you know, you were about to go somewhere good on our way to Zimbabwe. We weren't going to Zimbabwe, but close enough. Mombasa welcomed us and so did about 47 people trying to help us with our bags. And by

[27:06] help, I mean tip hustle. We have a team trying to help us figure out how to get to the hotel. Hey, what's going on y'all? So, we in the city of Mombasa. Mombasa. Yes. And we are just loving the culture, loving the people. We are right

[27:22] hotel. After we get our bags packed, we're going to come back out and show y'all what's next. So, we headed to our new spot at Jamra Beachfront Hotel. Now,

[27:34] listen. I was excited and so was the family. The views, the room, the whole family. The views, the room, the whole vibe. It was immaculate. We are here. This is the room me and my husband staying in right here. Look at this

[27:48] staying in right here. Look at this amazing room. It is huge. Okay, this is amazing room. It is huge. Okay, this is the life. We have a bathroom

[28:01] shower. Not a little one. It's actually a nice size. Then look at the view, though. That's the thing we want to see. This is the view. Wow. That's the Indian Ocean right there, y'all. This is the next room

[28:25] view. Taking y'all on a little tour. See what it looks like around here. This is the kitchen. We finally had a space where the whole crew could stay together. Family reunion, anyone? Now, we were only here

[28:39] for 24 hours, so we had to move quick. And we were hungry, so we hopped into our van and headed over to Chicken Inn to refuel. Now, I don't know if my dad was hungry or if he really loved that chicken, but he said it was better than

[28:53] any that he ate at home. Now, my dad ordered a slice of cheese pizza, but they ended up bringing him a slice of cheese. D. cheese, babe? Really and truly, I didn't.

[29:08] cheese. You must have told them. They They made up for it with the chicken. It tastes good. It tastes good. Next stop, you know we love to shop, so we headed to the market. The alleyways were picture tight alleyways, handmade goods,

[29:21] and a lot of bargaining. So, we in Mombasa Market, and we're all the family is trying to get some stuff to bring home to the US. So, uh, we got a whole right now. They're looking at this beautiful orange dress.

[29:35] beautiful orange dress. [Music] After exploring the city, we changed and ran down to Nali Beach because there was

[29:47] one thing we had to do. It's windy out here, but we just made it to the Nali Beach and about to get on a camel. Oh, yeah. Baby say yeah.

[30:12] Lean back. [Music] world. And let me show you how high we can get.

[30:26] This is what I'm talking about. High in the sky. There's just something about riding a camel into the sunset that feels iconic. So happy right now because of the fact that anything is possible. Tell you, anything is possible only if

[31:07] adventure, we finally had a quiet moment. Just me and Kelvin walking along the beach barefoot in the sand. We didn't catch the sunrise, but we caught a moment. And sometimes that's enough. I'm out here in Mombasa among the

[31:21] people. Absolutely enjoying it out here. This beach right now, I don't even know how to describe this feeling. I've been to many beaches around the world and something about standing in the Indian Ocean that just I don't know, it

[31:35] revitalizes me. It energizes me. And while we were out there, we met this amazing group of volunteers who clean the beach every morning. They spoke into the beach every morning. They spoke into the camera in their native tongue.

[31:56] beautiful. We got a chance to touch the Indian Ocean, to stand in it, to just be a part of this. Who would have thought this is something that you would see in Africa. Unfortunately, it was time for us to leave our beachside apartment, but

[32:12] not without a show. Now, that's what you call packing with purpose. We headed back to the airport and flew straight into Nairobi for our final

[32:25] stretch. Now listen, I've stayed in some beautiful places here, but Tribe Hotel, this was a whole vibe. [Music]

[32:52] to Village Market. It was massive. And when I say they don't play about cameras, I'm talking about security stepping in quick. I was just recording. Uh-huh. But we made it work and we headed

[33:05] were stalling. So, we wanted to try a little bit of everything. There was so many different levels in there, so many different shops. And we ended up in the grocery store. Of course, you know, we had to stop by the bakery. What's up

[33:19] everybody? We at Zucchini Food Market and guess what? We saw these delicious desserts and we wanted everyone to get what they wanted. They got donuts. They got chocolate croissants. They got cinnamon rolls. They got everything you

[33:33] could ever ask. We grabbed us some sweets. My mother-in-law was excited running around that store seeing all of the amazing things that they had. Bread, the amazing things that they had. Bread, herb, and Gosh. Wow.

[33:49] tell us now? What else? Come on. Take us on a tour. She taking us on a tour. Zucchini. Okay. Got some Got some fresh zucchini. That's Oh, no. Broccoli. Broccoli. Broccoli. The market name is zucchini. Yeah. Broccoli. Got broccoli.

[34:01] different. Green apples. Oh, yeah. She's selling y'all the stuff, y'all. But then something happened that none of us expected. My mom was sitting outside waiting for us and a young man walked up

[34:16] to her, paper in hand, voice barely above a whisper, asking if we can donate name was again? I couldn't hear you. Dennis. Dennis. And what's the name of Dennis. Dennis. And what's the name of the school? St. John. St. John. Okay.

[34:29] And it's a orphanage and school. Okay. And again, me and my husband looked at each other and grabbed every single thing we had in our wallet. We single thing we had in our wallet. We counted it out and we handed it to him.

[34:43] counted it out and we handed it to him. [Music] want to help you as much as we can. Okay. And his eyes lit up, but he stayed

[34:59] composed. You could see it meant everything to him. And honestly, it meant everything to us, too. This is really what it's all about. Giving back. Kenya had already given us so much, but on this day, we got to give something

[35:12] back. So, that felt so good. We were planning to go to a school tomorrow to give. And we kind of got tired. A lot's going on right now. And so, we were do it. And then this young man happened to come up to my mom sitting down and

[35:26] ask if we can donate to the school. So, you know, God orders our steps, had us in the right place at the right time. And so we ended up blessing him with every single thing we had in our wallet and our pocket. He wanted to cry and we

[35:40] could see it, but I don't think he wanted to do it on camera, but we just are walking in our purpose, which is to help as many people as we can. And we want to do this every single place. We plant our feet in every country, every

[35:52] continent. If we can bless, then that's what we going to do. All right, it is another day in Nairobi. And do you remember our driver Steven from day one? Well, we called him back for our last day in Nairobi, not

[36:06] realizing that today would become one of the most unforgettable days of our entire trip. We were supposed to just do some last minute shopping. But God had other plans. As we headed to a new market, we started asking Steven about

[36:21] his life, his family. And that's when he told us something we didn't expect. That he's from the slums. And he wasn't ashamed of it. In fact, he asked if we wanted to see where he came from. We are currently in the Madera slums taking a

[36:35] tour with Steven. He's showing us where he's from right now. And it's absolutely amazing. He walked us through the narrowest path, past homes held together with love and hope. And then he invited us into his mother's house. It was a

[36:50] tight fit, but it felt like family. His sisters, his brother, and then his mom sisters, his brother, and then his mom arrived. asked his mother to pray for us. And without hesitation, she stood, lifted

[37:06] without hesitation, she stood, lifted her hands, and prayed in her native

[38:21] my husband and I knew we wanted to bless her and she had no idea. So again, we pulled everything out of our wallets that we had that day and started that we had that day and started counting.

[38:41] wonderful job. We want to bless you. We want to bless you. When we finished, she screamed. She hugged us. She thanked us. It was raw. It was real. It was holy.

[39:05] Now, this is the experience that we came for. We wanted the real and we got every bit of what we wanted. Now, let me tell you how God keeps setting things up. We were completely out of money after that, like empty out purses and wallets.

[39:19] Steven thought we were just getting money to go shopping, but he had no idea what was coming. So when we were talking to him about his family, he mentioned that he was set it up for his wife and daughter to meet us at the market we

[39:31] were heading to. So when we got there, we went in, we did some shopping, and they finally made it. We met his beautiful daughter. She ran around smiling, not knowing what was about to happen. All right, so now we're about to

[39:44] bless another person out here. Our driver and his family is here. I'm whispering cuz they're behind me. But we wanted to He's been so kind, so generous, showed us his family, showed us around town and everything. And so we

[39:59] just want to be able to give back in quarantine. So after everyone grabbed their souvenirs, we headed to a side table and asked Steven and his family to join us. This is our first time in Africa and we have never met a person in

[40:13] Africa who has been so kind and so generous. We always blessing. you know how we are living. And that's why we really wanted to meet your wife because we wanted her to be a part of this because you've been so kind and you've

[40:26] done so much for us. You've done more than you should have honestly. And so we just want to be a blessing to you. You know, we already blessed mine. Whatever, like I said before, whatever God has done, no man can. That's right. Yeah.

[40:42] done, no man can. That's right. Yeah. But did you know God had this plan? Tell us what that is. She's like, "Oh, [Applause]

[41:03] wow. Steven gave a speech that touched every single one of us about sacrifice, struggle, and fate. about how hard things have been and how this moment reminded him to keep going. You have made me wonderful like proud man. Oh

[41:19] yeah. I've never met a client in my life that wants to see my family. You are the that wants to see my family. You are the first glance in my life that have asked me where about my family. And of course what my family always

[41:35] does, we ended in song. After this moment, we had to make one last stop at the Masai market. And I finally got to dress like a local. And baby, this is a look. We are finally coming to the end of our trip. And I hate to say goodbye.

[41:51] This have been a lifechanging experience. And I'm so glad that we got to share this with family, but there was just one more thing that we wanted to do special for our parents because we really wanted them to get the experience

[42:04] really wanted them to get the experience of a lifetime. So, we upgraded their seats to first class. And when they walked in and saw where they would be, this is what we do it for. I was waiting to see your face, bro. What y'all think

[42:19] about this? Y'all ain't never experienced this, huh? Aha. Y'all thought y'all flew first class before, y'all? All the way up here. You serious? Yeah, bro. You shocked.

[42:48] for, why we do what we do, why we work so hard. The joy on their face and in their heart. It meant everything to us. We wanted them to end this trip the way they deserved. Rested, honored, and full of joy. This wasn't just a vacation.

[43:04] This was a mission to connect, to grow, to give. And as we flew home, we didn't just carry souvenirs. We carried stories that changed our lives. And that's how we spent $100,000 taking our family to Africa.
