[00:00] She has the capabilities to do it all,

[00:03] which is uh something I haven't said in

[00:05] a long time in fighting games in

[00:07] general. I think I think she might be

[00:08] the one.

[00:12] So, she's an alien warrior. She's this

[00:14] queen of this planet that's basically

[00:16] dying. Uh and she's looking for a large

[00:19] enough energy source so she can save her

[00:21] people. Uh noble ambitions, but by any

[00:24] means necessary. And so you kind of see

[00:26] the events play out in the show where

[00:27] she's basically attacking a facility

[00:29] very similar to the one that you see

[00:31] here in our game uh where she's trying

[00:32] to, you know, get energy for her people.

[00:34] She carries uh like her people's uh

[00:37] staff of leadership. Basically, she uses

[00:40] it to drain energy. So her hook is

[00:43] essentially that energy drain. She can

[00:45] actually steal your meter, your boost

[00:47] gauge by using her forward special. Uh

[00:49] and you see there up at her boost gauge,

[00:51] if she has all three boost bars, it

[00:52] actually has this max indicator. Once

[00:54] you have that max, you can actually

[00:55] amplify her normal boost damage to get

[00:58] extra impact. So, for example, here's

[01:01] her down special, which is sort of like

[01:03] a DP kind of thing. But then if you

[01:05] boost it, single boost, she gets this

[01:08] armored version of that same thing. But

[01:09] then if you hold it, you get the max

[01:11] boosted version, which is only available

[01:12] when she has max boost. So really

[01:14] impactful, but it costs two bars of

[01:16] boost. So, we needed to not only convey

[01:19] in gameplay and on UI, she is draining

[01:22] energy, but we also need to convey once

[01:24] she reaches that boost max state that

[01:26] you have that ability available for you.

[01:29] Let's say you initiate boost max,

[01:31] there's a little burst to indicate it,

[01:33] right? And then once you start to drain

[01:35] boost from the other player and such,

[01:36] you'll you'll get that little indicator

[01:38] of not only are you draining, but you'll

[01:40] see your opponent's boost bar also get a

[01:42] little of their energy being drained as

[01:44] well. So then another way that she can

[01:46] actually manipulate the boost gauge is

[01:48] by using her super too. So she creates

[01:49] this force field around her which is

[01:51] going to absorb projectiles that'll

[01:52] actually give her boost back as well. Uh

[01:54] but the thing is if you're close to the

[01:56] opponent it's actually going to refill

[01:57] her boost gauge as well. She also can

[01:59] fight really well because of the the

[02:01] weapon mid-range. I think she's got a

[02:03] bit of keepaway in her. Like she does

[02:05] throw out projectiles but she actually

[02:07] doesn't have a really good projectile in

[02:09] terms of like going into like a trade

[02:11] war. They're non-traditional. So, as

[02:13] they travel, you really don't get hit by

[02:15] the travel. You get hit when they stop

[02:17] and they kind of have this little pulse.

[02:19] And it's kind of a good keep out tool,

[02:20] right? You'll see the projectile stops

[02:21] and it zips forward. But you can also

[02:23] aim it up or down. So, downward goes

[02:25] down then up. Up goes up then down. The

[02:27] boosted version has this whole path that

[02:29] clears out in front of you.

[02:31] >> Looking at her general kit, I think a

[02:33] lot of players might think of her as

[02:35] possibly a zoner. I like to rush people

[02:38] down. That's just how the West Coast was

[02:39] raised. This character has so many

[02:42] unique ways to force a character like

[02:45] across the screen. Uh like her charge

[02:47] air normal causes a ground skid. This

[02:49] heavy is going to be insane as a whiff

[02:52] punish tool. If she air dashes towards

[02:54] you, she's going to be reaching out

[02:55] pretty damn far. One of the biggest

[02:58] things I really do enjoy with her is her

[03:01] mobility combined with that down heavy,

[03:03] especially in the air. It's just so

[03:05] ambiguous. You're going to have so many

[03:06] opportunities with this character to mix

[03:09] your opponent up in neutral um with

[03:11] their movement alone. She definitely

[03:14] feels like a very significant threat

[03:17] against everybody in this game

[03:21] >> because she doesn't have a projectile

[03:22] assist. It's probably better to team up

[03:24] with characters that do have projectile

[03:25] assist to help her approach. So, I think

[03:27] anyone like a robot or Cecil or any are

[03:30] actually really good choices there. Uh I

[03:32] actually still like Mark for his forward

[03:33] assist. I really think that's a great

[03:35] approach to like cast people off guard,

[03:36] helps you approach, makes an opening for

[03:37] you to get in there. Uh I think her air

[03:40] jump heavy or air jump down heavy I

[03:41] should say is a really great crossup

[03:42] tool too if you are trying to approach.

[03:44] So anyone that can lock them down for a

[03:45] moment and give you this option to jump

[03:46] in and just mix them up on which side

[03:48] you can be with air down heavy I think

[03:49] is going to be really useful. Anybody

[03:51] also with an assist that causes even

[03:54] more of a juggle in your combos, right?

[03:56] I like to pair her up with someone like

[03:59] um Invincible for the back assist

[04:01] uppercut. I like to pair her up with

[04:03] Adam Eve for the back assist projectile

[04:05] to set her up even further for either a

[04:07] corner carry or set you up for boost,

[04:09] drainage, what have you. She has the

[04:12] capabilities to do it all, which is uh

[04:14] something I haven't said in a long time

[04:17] in fighting games in general. I think I

[04:19] think she might be the one.
