[00:07] to the great 12.1 Curse of Oollettech patch guide. Blizzard has finally confirmed the release date of August the 11th and we have lots to look forward to and get through. A new raid, new dungeons, a new

[00:21] world boss mode, housing updates, huge vault and gearing updates, quality of life changes, and loads more. So, will this patch make you all like >> I have had it with these mothering snakes on this mother patch

[00:34] >> I actually really like >> these mothering snakes on this mother. >> Let's sink our fangs into patch 12.1 and find out what's coming and what you need

[00:46] to prepare for. Okay, go go go go go go. >> Like previous patches, 12.1 will be released over a staggered schedule. So, let's kick off with what we're getting right away on August 11th. First up, the Coiled Isisle. This is our new zone, a

[01:01] sprawling island off the coast of Zullean, where the new story campaign sees us join Zuljara in a desperate pursuit of her hotheaded brother until eventually we convince him to be good now and he is totally redeemed. Am I

[01:13] telling the truth about the story? You'll just have to play and find out. As well as the story, The Coiled Isle lavishes us with a range of new world activities. Zuljara's forces come with a new renown track, granting loads of

[01:26] lovely Ammani and snake themed items and three new mounts, only two of which are snakes, sorry. The staging ground for many of these activities is the suitably venomous looking vaults of Oolletch. While in the area, you'll have access to

[01:40] a zone specific talent tree called the Altar of Corrosion, which apart from looking like a snake, grants nodes giving a range of player power and quality of life perks, including venom protection, added passive damage through

[01:55] venom coating, and venom wards. There's a lot of venom, and only so many words for it. These nodes are unlocked using corrosive coins, which you can gain through pretty much any openw world activity in the area. A variety of

[02:09] rotating public activities will pop constantly in the vaults. Bars will be completing them will culminate in a boss fight. That sounds weirdly familiar, doesn't it? Anyway, on top of that very special and unique gameplay loop, you'll

[02:24] encounter curse surges. These are events that spawn rare elites across five rotating locations on the aisle. [music] Killing these rares will contribute to zone progression and grant you corrosive coins for your snake tree and will also

[02:37] unlock cursed fishing in that location. Cursed fishing will lead you to Taka, a Tortolan sea captain with his own localized storyline and rep grind, which has you searching for the remnants of his crew and rewarding you with access

[02:50] to more cursed fishing locations along with some renowned goodies from second mate slugs like the sea dwelling eye serpent mount and this actually pretty cool venomous green recolor of the great sword of the ebban blade. Release the

[03:04] recolors, the people said, and the people shall have them or at least one. Another notable reward is a new fishing rod, which is a fishing rod. Okay, but hear me out. And which also turns you into a swimming snake when underwater in

[03:19] midnight zones, giving you both water breathing and increased speed and a super cool snake form, of course. >> Also on the aisle, you'll find the new world boss system known as layers. Layers are a completely new approach to

[03:32] world bosses, turning them into instance encounters with scaling difficulty, much like delves. The interface is also very much like delves. At launch on the 11th, you'll be able to encounter the first layer known as the tidebound grotto and

[03:47] face off against the naga sorceress Nimissa wavealler, but only on worlds difficulty for now with normal heroic and mythic flex difficulties unlocking the week after. And why am I so excited about this boss? Because I am. I am

[04:00] excited. I promise. Well, it's because with raid level difficulties come raid level rewards. World difficulty will drop veteran one out of six gear. Normal will be champion 1 out of six. Heroic hero one out of six. And mythic will

[04:14] drop myth one out of six gear with the added bonus of offering flex difficulty accommodating groups of between 15 to 25 players, potentially making these tidebound grotto world bosses a genuine

[04:28] part of your raid team's evening. And I think that's pretty cool. Nimissa wave cooler also drops the clumped asteroidia housing decor item which is just a bunch of gnarly old god adjacent starfish and it is it's awesome isn't it look and

[04:41] with a new patch we of course have a new dungeon rotation beginning with week one mythic zero difficulties will be available for all dungeons in the new rotation. Mythic zero dungeons will be on a weekly reset which means you get to

[04:55] do one of each dungeon for a chance at some 292 item level gear. Our new dungeon rotation includes the new dungeon, the altar of fangs, a suitably snaky three boss instance which is very important to the story and which has a

[05:09] chance to drop some decor like the pillar of the fanged altar and a shot at the multi-headed writhing brood snake mount. The midnight dungeons for this season include Murder Row, Den of Nalarak, the Blinding Veil, and Void

[05:22] Scar Arena. While the three returning legacy dungeons are King's Rest, Ruby Life Pools, and the Temple of Sethales. Yeah, I know there's already been a huge thankfully, there has been considerable work done to repath and rebalance the

[05:37] trio and make them more palatable to a modern Mythic Plus audience. We'll see make on these heroic and mythic dungeons in week one along with world content will go towards your first great vault opening on August the 18th, just in time

[05:51] for season two. But more on that in a moment. Also with the arrival of 12.1 is a new delve season which brings with it some new storylines for existing delves, mostly involving snakes, as well as giving us three brand new delves,

[06:06] granting us access to the troll area known as the ring of glory, which is an objectively hilarious name and has some excellent story variants, including one called game day in which you basically play football, but it's called headball.

[06:20] Man, the jokes just write themselves. And then there's Naraldor Isle, which relays various stories about clashes between the Tortolans and the menacing giant folk known as Naraldin. The third delve is, of course, the new Nemesis

[06:34] delve is, of course, the new Nemesis Delve, Venomfall Deeps. Azare is a classic Nemesis boss sporting the usual cones, dots, and mandatory interrupts to contend with, but also introduces a Simon sayslike sequence during

[06:47] intermissions in which you need to memorize the order in which quadrants are marked safe to stand in or you know [music] just die. Ask will launch with Aster. difficulty available during the first week. Well, Aster won't be

[07:01] available until the launch of season two in the second week, but we're dropping him in here now. So, you have time to mentally prepare yourself to join the mentally prepare yourself to join the fabled Let Me Solo Him Aztor achievement

[07:14] crew because the Hall of Fame for defeating the Nemesis boss on double question mark mode will no longer be capped at 4,000. It will be given to anyone who solos him on the higher difficulty level in the first week of

[07:27] season two. That means you have a chance. That means the fabled vanquisher of Azare title and the Apotheic Soulcrusher mount could be yours in one Soulcrusher mount could be yours in one go. You got this. Apart from the Nemesis

[07:41] delve, all other delves will be available up to tier 7 on launch, but with no bountiful delves available just yet, which will only come around with season 2. Lest we forget about our other favorite world tier content, Aelor is

[07:55] ready for you and for a new season of prey. Prey hunts will be available in normal and hard modes with the patch launch and will welcome some suitably venomous affixes and new targets in both the coiled isle and the existing

[08:09] midnight zones. Also, according to the WoW news article, Aelor also has a few new voice lines to deliver to you. Holy [ __ ] Holy [ __ ] Sorry. Sorry. It's just it's been a while. Oh yeah, for PvPers, the arena's training grounds will be

[08:25] live at launch, too. I was going to make a joke about how I've never PvPd in my life, but actually the prospect of running arenas with a bunch of bots as opposed to having my ass handed to me by real people is actually really

[08:37] appealing. So, that's coming too. August the 18th, season 2. And with that, we are finally into week two of the patch and the launch of season two. Are you still with us? Yeah. Good. Okay, the headline for August the 11th is as

[08:52] always the launch of the new raid. The Venomous Abyss delivers eight raid bosses and a hopefully thrilling continuation of the story as Zuljan frees the scaly denisens of the vault of Oolletch and we race to stop them no

[09:06] matter the cost. The final boss is a multi-headed snake goddess Oolletch herself. And on mythic, she has the chance to drop what is possibly one of the best named mounts in the game, the primeval sky friend. Not fiend, friend.

[09:22] Because this is World of Friendcraft. Now, she also drops a new decor trophy. the raid, you'll be collecting your brand new class tier sets. We've ranked each one of these sets very thoroughly and extremely scientifically in another

[09:36] which one is objectively and correctly the best. Venomous Abyss will be available on August the 18th on normal, heroic, and mythic difficulties along remaining three raidfinder wings unlocking one per week over the next 3

[09:52] weeks. Story mode doesn't arrive until even later on August the 26th for some unknown reason. So for players who don't raid and want to experience the story um well I mean uh tough titty. You're just going to have to bug it, I guess.

[10:07] Or wait. Alongside the raid, of course, will be the arrival of the new Mythic Plus season. All of those dungeons we mentioned previously will unlock on Mythic Plus, while Mythic Zero will continue dropping 292 gear and swapping

[10:21] over to a daily reset. For Mythic Plus enthusiasts, you have a whole new season of sweat, tears, bricks, and an assortment of titles and rewards to Conqueror will grant the title the

[10:34] green Breath of Blight mount, while Keystone Legend will give the leaner, meaner, or really just more red breath of ruin mount. The higher level titles are a bit underwhelming this time around

[10:47] with Keystone Myth getting a rating of at least 3,400 will give the venomous contender title, while ending the season in the top.1% of players in your region will make you the venomous hero. By this point, you will definitely have learned

[11:02] that venomous is spelled with an O and not an E. That's also your reward. Season 2 also heralds the start of the layers season with normal, heroic, and mythic flex difficulties finally opening up for the tidebound grotto. You'll have

[11:17] had week one to practice on worlds tier, so you'll be ready to go straight into a 15-man mythic flex. I'm sure of it. Don't forget about that summoning stone out front for when you're grouping up. With season two in delves, coffer keys

[11:31] will start dropping and bountiful delves will become accessible along with the asterk double question mark difficulty for the nemesis delve we talked about earlier. Fabled vanquishers of Azare assemble. You have one week to achieve

[11:45] glory. Coming on August 18th will be the nightmare mode for prey hunts along with the new curse of the Isisle feature. This is a new prey mode activated by completing a short quest line and saying hello to an avatar of Astelor on the

[11:59] aisle itself. And once you do, you'll get a whole spooky skybox change and the ability to collect oified relics which are scattered around the map. Collect enough of them and they can be placed at a haunted brazier and will summon a

[12:13] bonus target Rcala who drops loads of goodies including key shards, crests, anguish towards your prey journey, void light marl toys and a suitably nasty worm mount. Your prey seeker's journey will continue as usual along 10 levels

[12:28] with the usual perks and cosmetic rewards along the way. And that's it. >> you might think Everel just lied, but Everile's actually incapable of lying. probably should have led with this because this is a big one. There are

[12:42] substantial changes to gearing coming in season 2. First off, you will be delighted to hear that bonus roles will be making a return in 12.1, beginning with week eight of the patch. One bonus roll will be available per week from

[12:56] Orin Straylight. Yeah, you remember Orin, the moody void elf that we first encounter in the void storm, who is convinced a little void shade is trying to torment him when it's actually just really sad and lonely. It's one of the

[13:08] gone off to do his own thing for a while and has enlisted Orin of all people to be the designated void call maker in the meantime, and you'll find him hanging right around the catalyst in Silver Moon. So, that's from week eight, but

[13:21] bonus roles will also be available as an option from the Great Vaults starting immediately in season 2. Like literally from your first Great Vault opening on base of the Great Vault UI which will

[13:34] now give the option to collect one glorious void core instead of having to week. There is one catch, however. In order to unlock this option, you must order to unlock this option, you must complete at least three raid, dungeon,

[13:47] or world slots in your vault. But this is a great option to have, especially considering that going forward, raid rolls will only cost one void core instead of the usual two. Your great vault rewards themselves are also being

[14:00] considerably buffed, particularly for raiders. LFR, normal, and heroic vault slots will now award one track higher than the difficulty level of the content with. So, for example, filling out a

[14:14] raid slot with heroic boss kills will award a myth one out of six track item. So, for any guild that typically just clears heroic, this is actually a great incentive to keep those heroic farm runs going. For mythic raiders, you'll be

[14:26] receiving full-blown myth six out of six gear in your vault slots. And the last two raid bosses will grant the chance for some nine out of six mythic gear. What meaning that even the most dedicated of mythic plus key pushers

[14:40] raiding for a chance at some of the strongest pieces. And for any gear that is put into the catalyst to turn it into a tier piece, it will now retain its secondary stats and canrip effects in addition to tier bonuses, meaning that

[14:55] super meta tier optimization mode is go. Class changes. Beyond the gear updates, the classes themselves have all seen changes across the board. We're not here, so best consult Wowhead and your dedicated class Discord for the latest

[15:09] on the flavor of the month of your heart. But who cares about actual gameplay and mechanics when player housing is receiving an entirely new system to play with? At long last, blueprints will allow players to import

[15:24] export rooms and entire houses by generating blueprint strings. I cannot overstate how big this is going to be for the player housing community. Not with other players, you'll also be able to, you know, just save your own to go

[15:39] back to instead of having to face the pain of having deleted your insanely cool build to make space for your latest failed experiment. Oh, that's another feature coming too, a mass delete function, which they very gently called

[15:52] reset, which you can apply to your house interior, exterior, or both. Blueprints can be shared across regions except for China because they can and will have be too good for the rest of us to deal with. And you can save your entire house

[16:08] interior, exterior, both, or even individual rooms. You will have 50 save slots to play with with an additional 10 autosave backups which appear every time you import a blueprint, making it easy to revert back should you change your

[16:23] mind. When importing a blueprint, you'll be able to see a full list of room types and decor you're importing, which you can easily filter to see which, if any, elements you're missing. To accommodate for this new era of import export mania,

[16:35] a new permissions menu has been added. This defaults to no one, but can be used to grant permissions to visitors passing through your home to copy your designs to their own strings. This can be given freely to anyone or limited to any

[16:49] combination of neighbors, guildies, friends, or party members. In addition to blueprints, houses will now be able to reach level 12, which increases both room and decor placement budgets and grants access to large exteriors, which

[17:04] they? The total decor storage limit has also been increased in 12.1 from 7,500 to 10,000, granting just that little bit more leeway for all the true housing pills out there. 12.1 will be bringing in loads of new decor, but also new room

[17:20] in loads of new decor, but also new room and exterior designs. Artisal rooms will be purchasable with community coupons from Goran Longmore in Founders Point and Rother in Razer Wind Shores. And these are just that, beautifully

[17:32] Bellamth Temple Room and the Silver Moon Study and the Augramar Theater and the holy [ __ ] the autuminal Westfall Barn. All of which feature really thoughtful materials and construction as well as

[17:45] some very snazzy lighting effects in many cases. The Westful Barn designs many cases. The Westful Barn designs also include two new exterior facade faction neighborhood and which brings our total exterior design options to

[17:58] cover human, orc, blood elf, night elf, and Westfall specific cultures. Hopefully, this means we will have more completely random racial exteriors on the way too and not in the shop. Also, in 12.1, you'll finally be able to move

[18:11] the placement of your entrance hall around to existing rooms, which means you will finally be able to make a proper basement, though. The other major addition to player housing in 12.1 is the ability to plon

[18:25] housing in 12.1 is the ability to plon your pets into or onto your player home. Hunters, don't get too excited. This isn't about you, sadly. This is just for what we call battle pets. Pets can be placed using 11 different plinth types

[18:38] and can be set to sit still or wander at will about the place. The current limits will about the place. The current limits are 25 pets outside and 100 inside, which opens the doors for so many frankly outrageous scenarios to play

[18:51] already did all of those in the weekly reset. Okay, fine. 100 handies. I said it. The housing die system will be completely revamped in 12.1. [music] There is an extremely in-depth article about how and why this has come about

[19:06] which I treasure as a piece of development memorabilia and you can read that if you like. But in short, instead of having to carry around a different item for every [music] different color dye, dyes are now condensed into color

[19:19] dye, dyes are now condensed into color families. So roy biv plus black, brown, and [music] white. So having a purple dye item will now allow you to apply any of those purple color variations to a piece of decor. This is huge for saving

[19:33] bag space. Likewise, crafting dyes has been vastly simplified. All you need to craft dyes in 12.1 is to be an alchemist scribe, have the right herbs, and click the dye station. That's it. Oh, and they've added 15 new colors, too. So, go

[19:48] wild. Finally, for player housing is the addition of four new neighborhood endeavors, which are very, very welcome indeed, particularly for players who original rotation within hours of them all being launched at the beginning of

[20:02] first endeavor to all neighborhoods, Endeavor. Grifter and his traveling troop of traders will share their Armani themed wares with you over the course of

[20:14] this endeavor, including some great lower shines and the steamy romance tablet. Candle culture is the cobalt themed endeavor, which will give a variety of candles, but also ropes. Every BAR has its day, sees the Onaran

[20:27] Centaur crew looking for help with training their doggos, and has nice uh barricades as well as pet themed objects. And finally, vacation season they're bringing all their nice sea bless along with them. That was a lot of

[20:42] housing news. But that's still not all for us in 12.1. There are lots of UI updates to look forward to, including currencies being split into drop downs by activity, which absolutely rules. The cooldown manager continues to be live

[20:57] developed with the ability to track potions, trinkets, and cooldowns on racial abilities being added as well. The ping system will have increased functionality, and you'll now be able to ping your action bar and spells for all

[21:10] to see, and your health as a chat bubble. Yes, you'll be able to ping your health as a chat bubble. But hey, they've added mana now, too, so we're all even now. Oh, and they've added a back button to the achievement panel, so

[21:22] nothing else to do on that front, I guess. Coming slightly out of left field is a new guild chat Discord integration. Yes, you'll now be able to link up your Discord chat with your in-game chat so that you're not constantly replicating

[21:35] conversations or missing out on all the hot goss. Guild leaders will be able to link up a dedicated Discord chat channel so that it appears in game, and Discord-based chatters will be marked with a handy icon. You will need to

[21:48] formally link your Battleet and Discord accounts in order to use this, so bear that in mind. Also, try not to break terms of service while you're at it. I know what you talk about on Discord. I see you. We'll have two new warb band

[22:01] camp screens available in 12.1. A silver moon camp and a void tinged silver moon okay? Which you'll be able to get from Leaddin after collecting four silver

[22:13] moon city emblems, which she gives out as part of her weekly quest rewards. That means you'll need to do eight weeks of these to get both Warband screens. for at least 8 weeks anyway, so you're all good. Beyond that, well, you'll have

[22:27] the continuation of the main campaign story as well as Arator's story. And there's a whole new quest line for the Argentina. Aw. Anyway, decor duels will be going away completely. So, spend those coins on the cosmetics and not the

[22:41] be going away while the decor items will continue to be sold in Silver Moon for Void Light Marl. >> And that, my friends, is patch 12.1. familiar gameplay modes, trees, and renown tracks to contend with, but also

[22:57] layers to add to our play time, welcome buffs to gearing and bonus roles, and absolute game changers like blueprints, which will shift the way player housing works for good. But what do you think? Is 12.1 enough to keep you going with

[23:12] looking forward to most in Curse of Oollettech? Let us know in the comments below. If you enjoyed today's video, don't thank me. Thank our patrons and members who give their actual real life money to make all of our work happen and

[23:25] without whom [music] there would be a whole lot less Talas and Everel. So like it, downvote the [ __ ] out of it and remember my name is Night Man. Now my name is Talin [music] from me and Everel too. Until next time, cheerio.
