He calls it one of the top three craziest anime announcements he has seen in a long time, but admits it looks good and he might enjoy it.
The anime is being made by Studio MAPPA, known for hits like Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan Final Season, Hell's Paradise, and Chainsaw Man. Despite controversies, MAPPA consistently produces high-quality, successful anime.

2:52Dark Theme Prediction
The creator predicts the anime will address the serious damage of drugs like fentanyl, despite its cute appearance.
3:58[00:21] I I I'm trying to gather my thoughts. I
[00:23] I'm I'm trying to just
[00:28] They are actually unironically like we
[00:31] we got we just they are making an anime
[00:35] about
[00:37] drugs like just just that they're
[00:40] they're making
[00:42] literally the best way to summarize this
[00:45] is Moa blob lolly girls
[00:49] do fentanyl. That that's that's
[00:51] literally
[00:53] that is that that's that's literally
[00:55] what this is.
[00:58] Okay. Okay. We we we have finally
[01:01] reached the point where we're getting an
[01:05] anime about drugs and it's cutesy moa
[01:11] blob characters at that like
[01:15] bro.
[01:17] Oh,
[01:19] I I what what is the comment?
[01:25] Hey, I saw this,
[01:28] bro. It's
[01:34] what? Like, dude, this is the craziest
[01:38] anime announcement I think I have seen
[01:40] in a very long time. Like I think this
[01:44] is top three craziest anime
[01:46] announcements because unironically I I
[01:50] might get some heat for this take, but
[01:52] unironically this kind of looks good.
[01:55] Like it looks like something I will
[01:58] probably enjoy. So we we need to just we
[02:01] need to just address the elephant in the
[02:02] room here. Okay. So first off, this is
[02:04] being done by Studio Mappa. Yes, the
[02:07] Studio Mappa. the same studio that has
[02:10] made JJK, Jiu-Jitsu Kaisen, Attack on
[02:13] Titan's Final Season. They've done, you
[02:15] know, Hell's Paradise. They've done
[02:17] Chainsaw Man, the Chainsaw Man movie.
[02:20] You you get the point. They are um quite
[02:22] the animation studio. Regardless of your
[02:24] personal feelings about, let's say, the
[02:26] anime they do, or um your personal
[02:28] feelings about how they treat their
[02:30] employees, the point of the matter is is
[02:31] that Studio Mappa does make good anime.
[02:33] They do. Like, you you can't you can't
[02:35] deny that. They they make highquality
[02:37] projects that legitimately are the talk
[02:40] of the 2020s. Like everything that they
[02:42] pretty much have made for the 2020s has
[02:44] been a successful mass hit in from what
[02:47] I have seen. And so when I take a hard
[02:49] look at this just this anime adaptation,
[02:52] this feels like a weird middle ground
[02:55] between like mainstream anime fans and
[02:58] then like moa blob cutesy enjoyers of
[03:02] anime. And like let me let me explain
[03:04] how I arrived at this conclusion. So
[03:06] obviously this the the design of these
[03:08] characters just straight up they're moa
[03:10] blob. They are like the traditional
[03:12] cutesy moa blob like characters that you
[03:14] know you can see in a lot of comedy
[03:16] slice of life shows. And the fact that
[03:19] you have studio Mappa that is very well
[03:21] known for making hyperrealistic or
[03:23] trying to make realistic looking anime
[03:25] that's just you know very mature
[03:27] looking. I mean let's let's like let's
[03:28] look at Chainsaw Man or you know let's
[03:30] look at JJ K. Seeing them go into a Moa
[03:33] Blob adaptation is honestly it's a
[03:36] whiplash. Now, I'm not saying they
[03:37] haven't done stuff like this before.
[03:38] They've done some different projects in
[03:40] the past, but this one really just takes
[03:42] the cake because it's like it has a
[03:44] blend of the art style that a lot of
[03:46] traditional anime fans enjoy, but it
[03:49] also clearly has action and quite a an
[03:52] interesting topic. A very interesting
[03:54] topic that um I feel like uh is it's a
[03:58] dark topic actually. I I I feel like
[04:00] looking at this, this is probably going
[04:02] to be a very dark anime. Like the front
[04:05] appearance of this seems to be kind of
[04:07] just very funny or comedic and all that.
[04:10] Don't take it too seriously. And I could
[04:11] be wrong, maybe you shouldn't, but I
[04:13] feel like this is going to be like a
[04:16] kind of a very dark title kind of
[04:18] addressing just like the damage that
[04:20] stuff like fentanyl and stuff like that
[04:22] can do to people. And I mean, I'm all
[04:23] for that. I think there's nothing
[04:25] necessarily wrong with that, but it's
[04:26] just it's quite a quite a different
[04:28] anime. like it's not something I
[04:30] expected Studio Mappa to tackle, but
[04:33] here we are. Um, I will say though that
[04:37] first impressions of this, I'm not
[04:40] against it. I like I said, I know
[04:41] there's going to be a lot of people that
[04:43] are going to be like, "Oh no, what is
[04:45] this?" Like, "This just looks like like
[04:46] there's going to be propaganda and
[04:48] stuff." And maybe there might be, but
[04:49] the point is is that I don't really hate
[04:51] it. There's not anything about this so
[04:53] far I've seen that makes me want to
[04:55] outright hate it. I think it looks
[04:56] cutesy. I think it's probably going to
[04:58] be it's going to tell a very dark story.
[05:00] Probably going to have some funny
[05:01] moments as well. It's going to have some
[05:02] crazy animation. I mean, this sequence
[05:04] alone is just insane, by the way. Holy
[05:07] crap, that tongue detail, by the way.
[05:09] But, um, like it's Yeah, I I I feel like
[05:12] this is this is going to be interesting.
[05:13] I I'm excited, honestly, to see when
[05:15] this comes out because, uh, we don't
[05:17] necessarily know exactly when this is
[05:21] coming out. Like, it's a working title
[05:23] apparently, like Gimoto Psycho. So, we
[05:25] we don't know if it's going to air this
[05:28] year or next year. I'm going to assume
[05:30] by how these announcements work, we
[05:31] might get this maybe either at the end
[05:33] of this year or the beginning of next
[05:34] year. I could be wrong. This is Netflix,
[05:37] by the way, that announced it. So, it's
[05:39] it's entirely up to how Netflix wants to
[05:40] release schedule stuff. But yeah, I I
[05:42] kind of wanted to just take a few
[05:43] moments to talk about this because it's
[05:45] like, yeah, that title I'm not lying.
[05:47] That's a real title that it's it's not
[05:48] even clickbait. I mean, look what you
[05:50] see on screen. It's it's absolutely
[05:52] wild. So, I I'm interested to see. I
[05:55] feel like Mappa could tell a very mature
[05:56] story while also having some uplifting
[05:59] and comedic moments. So, let's let's
[06:00] just see how this goes. I will
[06:02] definitely be watching this with great
[06:04] interest in seeing, you know, when I I I
[06:06] don't know if we got a staff reveal or
[06:08] not yet. So, hopefully like when more
[06:10] information comes out about this, you
[06:12] know, or I might make a follow-up video
[06:13] tomorrow if I need to. If there's more
[06:14] information that comes out, I I will
[06:16] discuss it. But, uh, thank you so much
[06:17] for watching. May all of you have a
[06:19] fantastic day or night wherever you
[06:20] live. Be safe, stay healthy. She be out.
