"Title implies aggressive 'stealing' from Tinder, but the video is a solid SEO case study with actionable advice—delivers value despite the slight hype."

AI Summary

Scott Valz runs VA Select, a service that manages the entire online dating process for clients, from profile setup to messaging. The business relies almost entirely on organic Google traffic for customer acquisition, generating millions in revenue. This video explores how they dominate search results using clever SEO strategies.

[00:01]
Business Overview

VA Select manages the entire modern dating process for clients, including a 90-minute matchmaking call, profile setup, and message management, so clients only need to show up for dates.

[01:25]
Origin Story

After sending 47 messages on dating apps with no response, Scott developed a formula for success. He became overloaded with dates and hired a copywriter to replicate his system, launching VA Select in 2009.

[02:20]
Key Metrics

VA Select has 120 employees, clients spend an average of $1,900, and 98% of traffic comes from organic search. Profit margins range from 10% to 30%.

[03:57]
Traffic Reliance

Scott admits that if Google traffic stopped, the business would fail. The entire customer acquisition funnel is built on organic search.

[04:24]
SEO Strategy

Two main content buckets: online dating keywords (e.g., 'Tinder pickup lines') and matchmaking keywords (e.g., 'best matchmakers in New York'). Matchmaking converts 40x better.

[05:45]
Monetizing 'Junk' Keywords

Even low-intent keywords like 'Tinder pickup lines' are valuable because they attract traffic that can be monetized through other services.

[06:16]
Traffic Stagnation

VA Select's traffic is flat—not growing or shrinking. The host identifies a need to protect existing rankings and find new keyword opportunities.

[07:28]
Keyword Research Technique

Use modifiers like 'versus' and 'reviews' to find commercial intent keywords. For example, 'Hinge vs Bumble' converts well.

[08:10]
Reddit Dominance

Reddit owns 32% of the traffic for VA Select's target keywords, while VA Select only has 3%. This indicates a major opportunity.

[09:05]
Protecting Rankings

For a page ranking 4th for 'hinge versus Bumble', updating content to match user intent (e.g., a comparison table) can help recapture traffic.

[10:39]
Reddit Marketing Strategy

Identify where Reddit already ranks for relevant keywords and contribute valuable answers. For example, 'best Tinder bios for guys' has 14k searches/month and a low-authority site ranks with one link.

VA Select's success hinges on SEO, but its flat traffic shows the need for a dual strategy: protect current rankings and aggressively pursue untapped keyword opportunities, especially on Reddit.

[00:01] partner without Ever Lifting a finger meet me to select a service that does flirting for you would you say that you can get anyone a date yeah today we'll find out exactly how they're stealing

[00:13] customers from Tinder using Google if you lost all of your Google traffic tomorrow what would happen to your business it would fail how veto select was built from scratch we have been a seven fig business for over a decade in

[00:28] them dominate their Niche and pull in more customers organically without spending a single dive they're ranking with one link this is definitely something you guys should be on you want to just introduce yourself

[00:42] and what you do I'm Scot valz I started VA select back in 2009 when I came across your your business I didn't really know what to think can you kind of explain what your business is all about at VA select we manage the entire

[00:56] about at VA select we manage the entire process of modern dating for our clients themselves so we start with about a 90-minute call where the Matchmaker gets to know all about the client and what they're looking for in a partner we will

[01:09] set up profiles on the optimal dating platforms for them and literally manage everything so that all they have to do is just show up to the date how do you come up with an idea like this so back in 2008 I was trying like different

[01:25] approaches to dating right so I had used the dating apps I even tried some dating apps were really frustrating I sent at one point 47 messages and I

[01:37] sent at one point 47 messages and I literally didn't get a response and so I different after testing different responses and dialing in his approach Scott was able to develop a dating formula for Success over the course of 6

[01:50] months soon Scott was overloaded with dates and the idea for VA select was born with average users wasting over 2 hours a day on dating apps Scott in the market he quickly hired a copywriter to put his proven system in

[02:05] place and started sending messages on behalf of clients in 2009 when I launched the business I was I was very fortunate in that I got a lot of media coverage we were growing like 40% year-over-year and we were able to reach

[02:20] seven figures within 5 years so we have been a a seven figure business for over a decade so how many employees do you have right now we have about 120 people service cost our average client is spending about 1,900 and they're meeting

[02:37] someone within 3 months isn't it super awkward to explain that the person that was chatting with them that was flirting with them was not them most of our clients aren't actually explaining that to anyone you know they're not telling

[02:50] the other person that they they use a service generally speaking like when you feel like a really awesome chemistry connection with someone they just they don't really care to my surprise Scott might be right V select's website is

[03:03] littered with positive reviews and success stories all from those who claimed the service helped them to meet their perfect match all of a sudden there was a steady flow of interested Partners this is the perfect woman for

[03:16] Partners this is the perfect woman for me oh I love you I love you H I was a bit skeptical of all the Bold claims so I ask Scott to show me how it works in real time so this is a 28-year-old client who we were setting messages for

[03:31] you can kind of see the progression from the opening message to the date in in the next screenshot this line here I guess there's only one way to find out is kind of cheese yeah it's a it's but you know what like what works online

[03:45] actually a lot of times it does feel a little bit cheesy I have to admit Scott had me impressed but I was concerned to hear what he mentioned next so can you kind of walk me through the process of how you get

[03:57] customers like 98% of our traffic is is organic search right so we get you know clients referring other clients and that drives business but those are like very high conversion and it's not a lot of traffic so if you lost all of your

[04:11] Google traffic tomorrow what would happen to your business it would fail Scott has taken a massive gamble relying solely on Google vs his business especially with core updates that have been crushing small businesses luckily

[04:24] for Scott his business is Alive and Kicking so I wanted to take a closer look at how he's been able to dominate search results on Google somebody searches for something in Google they land on your site what kind of pages are

[04:36] they landing on so we have two main buckets of search content that uh we focus on one of them is online dating so it could be you know Tinder pickup lines it could be you know Tinder pickup lines or Bumble bio examples and then on

[04:51] another side we have matchmaking keywords so best matchmakers in New York keywords so best matchmakers in New York so the matchmaking bucket converts about 40 times higher than the online dating traffic an average Matchmaker in New

[05:04] traffic an average Matchmaker in New York is probably charging $5 $20,000 so they're already really primed for a high-end service I when we compare like the extreme other side of Tinder pickup lines it converts hundreds of times

[05:17] better I mean hundreds keywords like this people often look at it and they invaluable for anyone like how am I going to make money off of Tinder pickup lines like it's just kind of like a meme site or you know you might see that on

[05:31] through there but they're just looking for traffic for ad Revenue yeah I find that fascinating because you've taken keywords that seem like junk uh to many people in the industry but you've built your business around that I I think

[05:45] that's an amazing thing all our visitors are valuable some more than others um but really kind of dialing in you know that that value equation has helped us to to monetize our traffic pretty well what are your profit margins like so we

[06:00] have like years where we'll do 30% profit and we have years where we do 10% profit it's a high volume relatively low margin business now that I've seen the wanted to share with him some tactics to help him find more customers from the

[06:16] legs of Tinder and Bumble and one of the discoveries we came across not related to Google is a gold mine that neither Scott or his competitors have dug into so yeah like what I noticed right away when I looked at your traffic was I saw

[06:29] almost like stagnating like it never really grew and it never really shrunk yeah the thing with growing search traffic is that you have to think about two things first you have to actually protect your current traffic the second

[06:43] for New Opportunities if you can do both of those then that's how you get the pages report and it's just kind of showing you U the pages that are driving the most search traffic to your site delete Plenty of Fish which I can't

[06:58] doesn't convert very well but then you does this page convert for you converts well yeah so these verses these verses type Pages which you know have some form of commercial value you have Tinder Plus

[07:13] versus Tinder keywords like reviews versus basically things that show some form of commercial intent are working well for you and there's still there around those keywords all right so let's look at some potentially new keyword

[07:28] opportunities so we want to find keywords that are going to contain modifiers and modifiers are just like an add-on to a base keyword so we have our base keywords and then modifiers might be like verses or reviews so we can

[07:42] click include any word and so we'll do review uh example versus and let's see what kind of keywords we come up with so hinge that there's a whole bunch of keywords in here you know that they convert well

[07:57] so let's copy the first 50 and paste that in here and if I go to the traffic share by domain then we can actually see which websites get the majority of the traffic from here and did you know that Reddit gets roughly 32% of the traffic

[08:10] for those keywords Reddit crushes it V to select so you are in the mix here but you only own around 3% of the traffic Shar and you definitely want to get to a place where you're owning more of it yeah so basically looking through these

[08:25] keywords when we group it by parent topic now we have a huge list of topics that you might actually want to go after is there anything in here that you don't think that you've covered yet I mean is hinge X worth it I don't believe we've

[08:39] done that um that looks new all right so we look and see what the top ranking we look and see what the top ranking pages are Hing X versus plus plus right yes so it looks like it's a paid thing so there's one potential opportunity for

[08:51] you so you'd basically have to look at you know what topics have you covered and you would bucket them into these are new opportunities we should definitely because our potential customers are searching for that as for the protecting

[09:05] your current traffic one of the big ones for you I believe was hinge versus for you I believe was hinge versus Bumble and so you rank fourth for the main keyword to protect your traffic if you have the links usually it's just a

[09:18] matter of updating the traffic to better match the intent of the Searcher so if we look at your page the question now is like what does the user actually want to see well the fact that Reddit is ranking number one tells me that people want to

[09:32] so I think it makes a lot of sense for you to learn how to do reddit reddit is marketing channel I think for you considering over 30% of that traffic goes to Reddit right% and so if you wanted to go and you wanted to do some

[09:47] like Reddit marketing yeah you can go and you can go to Reddit and search for like Bumble and then look for things that have uploads and stuff but the actually getting traffic still so you could waste a ton of time going and like

[10:02] see this and upload it and even if you're ranked at the top like will anyone actually see that yeah so what you can do is you can just go and see where reddit's already getting traffic brilliant and like we see here uh how

[10:14] does hinge work uh we can look at their ranking history you can see that they've been like in the top five forever basically it's unlikely that they're going to all of a sudden stop ranking for this so you can go put in your time

[10:27] in Reddit help answer this question I don't think you should hide behind a a pseudonym or anything but even just going in as V select and building up your brand in there I think will have a longer term impact another thing you can

[10:39] do with Reddit is we can look for modifiers so prompts pickup lines bies we can we can add in as many modifiers as we want right so let's go back here and see what kind of results we come up with best Tinder bies for guys that's

[10:56] wild that there's 14,000 monthly searches with that modifier and look like this is a very low Authority site they're ranking with one link like this is definitely something you guys should be on yeah for sure we could rank you

[11:11] Reddit you can put in like your seed keywords in this case these are just like the the dating keywords that that I entered the um company names and then you add in modifiers you find another modifier you just go and do the same

[11:25] topics yeah and then you just keep soaring them creating content around that as you start getting up there you track them all in a rank tracker as those rankings start to drop then you go and you protect that traffic that way

[11:38] kind of looks like this you want to have the net positive for sure flow of traffic right and so that's kind of what you need to do is is to have both sides of that to kind of get that parabolic growth for sure yeah it's the long term
