He explains the hidden costs of traditional e-commerce (MOQ, inspections, shipping, customs) and introduces an agent-based fulfillment model that lets sellers focus on marketing and sales.

Three e-commerce business models

Muhammad Ahmad explains that there are three models: dropshipping, branding, and a hybrid 'dropshipping brand'. He will focus on the hybrid as the strongest way to start in 2026.

[00:42]
Dropshipping is effectively dead

Traditional dropshipping ended around 2020, but people still talk about it because trending products remain popular.

[01:08]
The hybrid 'dropshipping brand'

This model combines branding and dropshipping: you become a real brand without employees, warehouses, or holding inventory.

[01:36]
Packaging makes the brand

Customized packaging with your logo and brand name moves you from a random dropshipping store to a real brand, setting you apart from the competition.

[01:51]
MOQ barrier

Traditional e-commerce requires a minimum order quantity (MOQ), typically at least 300 units, which is a major obstacle for beginners.

[02:23]
Quality inspection costs

You must hire a third-party company to test product quality, costing between $300 and $800, adding to your upfront expenses.

[02:53]
Shipping and customs

Shipping goods costs around $500, and customs duties must be paid, pushing your total pre-launch spending past $1,000.

[03:35]
Marketing and sales are essential

The 'dark side' is that you must learn marketing and selling—the two most important skills—to ensure your product actually sells.

[04:48]
Random dropshipping doesn't scale

Without a real brand, reaching 10,000–50,000 orders is nearly impossible because customers trust platforms like Temu, Amazon, and eBay over random stores.

[06:25]
Agent-based global fulfillment

An agent handles packaging, quality checks, fast shipping, and tracking numbers, letting you sell to any country without managing logistics yourself.

[07:12]
SmartWay: the 2026 model

SmartWay is a no-waste, no-warehouse, no-employee approach where you focus only on marketing and sales, building a real brand without inventory.

The video presents SmartWay, a hybrid dropshipping-brand model, as the strongest e-commerce start for 2026. By using an agent for fulfillment and zeroing in on marketing and sales, newcomers can build a scalable, trusted brand without inventory or employees.

[00:01] by [laughing] just running around looking for anything to work at, anything at all, just wanting to start, just wanting to make money. No, I want to start in a systematic way, and my choice of business model has to be smart. I, Muhammad Ahmad, have been working in e-commerce since

[00:15] 2017, and this is one of my brands that broke the 10,000 order barrier, and we'll soon get the second one, but that's not our topic. Let's focus on how you can start in the strongest way in 2026. Initially, for us to start e-commerce, we have three types of business models. We have the dropshipping business model.

[00:30] Okay, dropshipping is almost the traditional business model, unfortunately, it ended in 2020. Okay, but tell Muhammad that even today, people are still talking about it, it's very normal because it's still

[00:42] trending and people are talking about trending products, so it's very natural that you still find it and people are still talking about it. We have another method called branding. Okay, of course, this is a polished name. It's basically been around since 2011, and it's a traditional e-commerce platform where you source and sell your products.

[00:56] But there's a way to combine the positive aspects of both brands and dropshipping. So, you're asking me, "Mohammed, what's a dropshipping brand?" Okay, so is it dropshipping and branding

[01:08] asking me, "Mohammed, what's a dropshipping brand?" Okay, so is it dropshipping and branding In short, I'm becoming a real brand without having employees, warehouses, or the most important thing: merchandise. A traditional brand has all of that, and

[01:23] dropshipping doesn't. But what sets dropshipping apart and allows it to become a brand But what sets dropshipping apart and allows it to become a brand is the packaging. The packaging is the product's packaging. You know what product you're

[01:36] selling. If you were to sell it, you'd be just like any traditional dropshipping store. But if you have a customized package with your logo and brand name, then you're in a league of your own. You've moved from this stage to the next, you're in a league of your own. You've moved from this stage to the next, but at the same time, you don't have enough stock. So,

[01:51] today, before you start, let me explain one of the most significant obstacles you'll face if you're going to do traditional e-commerce. Number one, you'll have to buy the MOQ, which is the minimum order quantity—a specific number of units for your product.

[02:07] In other words, you can't just go to China and say, "Hi, how are you, factory? Give me 10 units." No, it's not allowed. You have to order at least 300 units. You might go to someone else who says, "Okay, I'll give you 200 units," but the most important question is how the product will reach you without you testing the

[02:23] quality. This means you'll have to contact a company to contact a company to test or inspect your products. This company usually charges between 300 and 500 units, and some charge 700 or 800, depending on the number of units. But since

[02:38] you're buying low-stock, it's possible that, for example... $ 300, $350, or even $500, just to test your products. They'll send you a video saying that the products Muhammad made for you are professionally excellent. But is the process over? No, you still have to ship the goods to the country where

[02:53] goods home and start working with them—perfect! But to get the goods to you, you have to ship them by land, sea, or even air. Let's sea, or even air. Let's say your shipping cost is around $500. If you have a

[03:08] small quantity, say you found about 200 or 300 pieces of a product, and its price was around $ about 200 or 300 pieces of a product, and its price was around $ 300, plus $300 for the company to test it, that makes $600. Then, plus another $500, it's $ 1100. Is that all? No, you have to pay something

[03:23] called customs duties in the country where you want to sell. So, this means you haven't even started yet. See? So, this means you haven't even started yet. See? An order on your store means you've surpassed $1000. The dark side, the one no one tells you about, is that there's still marketing involved. What does that mean, Mohammed? It means

[03:35] I just paid and the product arrived. It won't sell on its own. No, and that's the truth no one tells you: you need to learn the two most important skills in e-commerce: marketing and selling. You need to learn how to sell

[03:53] and how to market. These are the two most important skills so that after you've done all that, you can start so that after you've done all that, you can start selling. You need to learn how to market and how to create a strong, irresistible offer. And what's more, how to be creative. Because you need to know that

[04:07] creativity is king. Your advertising content is king, it's your winning card because it's the first thing your customer sees. This applies to brands. If you work this way, as

[04:19] we discussed, you'll be worth more than $1000, maybe $2000, maybe $ 3000, maybe $5000, depending on the MQ, the many factors. There are factors, but I won't go into them because, as a beginner, you don't want all that headache. But let's say you start with the traditional method, which is traditional dropshipping.

[04:36] Traditional dropshipping is a great way to start, but once you launch, you'll discover that you've started randomly, and unfortunately, you won't reach a place, even if you

[04:48] randomly, and unfortunately, you won't reach a place, even if you generate sales. This means it's very difficult for you to reach 10,000 orders, 20,000 orders, maybe even 50,000 orders, without establishing yourself as a real brand. People currently only trust real brands. Think about it carefully: if you're a

[05:03] random store today with 100, 150 products, or even 50 products, and you ask yourself, " Why would someone buy from me? They won't buy from you. They'll buy from Timo, they'll buy from you. They'll buy from Timo, they'll buy from Amazon, they'll buy from eBay." In any

[05:16] case, you won't have a place among the elite. But if you focus on a specific brand, if you focus on establishing yourself as a real brand, then you won't be... You have the merchandise, and at the same time, you have

[05:29] the logo, the packaging, everything that makes you look like a real brand. This means you real brand. This means you can easily reach the can easily reach the scaling stage, and that's the key: reaching the scaling stage. When you

[05:42] reach the scaling stage as a real brand, customers will gain trust when they receive the product and your packaging is receive the product and your packaging is on it—meaning the packaging has your logo.

[05:56] This means you're a global brand. I want to emphasize this because it's even with traditional brands or dropshipping. How can you carry two brands? I have the merchandise, yes, you

[06:09] have the merchandise, but you're obligated to sell in the same country where you shipped it. Here, you can sell to Germany, Australia, Canada, the United States, or any country you want. Why? Because behind the scenes, there's something called an

[06:25] Because behind the scenes, there's something called an agent. Okay, this agent's job is to send or Behind the scenes, there's a behind-the-scenes hero who handles customer service for you. For example, if you have 50 or 100 orders a day, you don't need to

[06:40] 100 orders a day, you don't need to collect data yourself or contact a supplier on AliExpress who might give you a fake tracking number. This applies to AliExpress and similar platforms like Platform Four, but when you have an agent, they handle everything.

[06:55] They create the packaging, check product quality, ship quickly, and most importantly, send the tracking number to your customer. This means you've moved from a very basic stage because you're working with a method called SmartWay. It's the most powerful way to start

[07:12] if you want to operate without waste, without warehouses, without employees, and most importantly, without starting haphazardly or becoming a traditional dropshipper. You want to become a real brand, but

[07:24] the difference is that you're number one. You have the merchandise, no warehouses, no employees, and you can sell in any country you want. The best part is that you only need to focus on marketing and sales, which is the most important thing. I challenge anyone to say that marketing and sales aren't important. Marketing and sales are number

[07:40] one; you must learn them. Once you learn them, you've mastered the game. Want to work this way? Welcome! I've prepared a free lecture for you. Click on the link in the description to Click on the link in the description to access the free lecture.
