[00:33] the ones that got buried, ignored, or just unlucky with timing. And honestly, some of these are better than the stuff topping the seasonal charts right now.

[00:49] show. It revolves around bounty hunter Chateau and her encounter with Asian assassin Son. In a twist of fate, Son also happens to be hunting her down and exchange for going out with him, Son will help her out behind the scenes.

[01:03] complicated when the two are made to face their dark past that come knocking. be forced to rely on each other to get through it. Now, this show caught me by surprise. The dynamic between cold tsundere female and the opposite is a

[01:16] tried and true formula, but it never gets old. I also found [music] the level interesting, but I guess that's to be expected because it is a josei series, a that often. If you're up for a romance that's dark and mature, this could be

[01:31] that's dark and mature, this could be something worth picking up.

[01:48] CloverWorks and it promised superpowers, drama, and mysteries. You've got an friends forced to work together to protect the future of their home, the whole dead friend mystery, and superpowers. It even began with a double

[02:01] episode special that sets the tone of the series really well. Then, the pacing setup before jumping back into the fray with the action. I find the show nice people feel tuned out by it. CloverWorks, while still being one of

[02:14] endeared themselves recently with the controversies related to Promised Neverland 2 and Wonder Egg Priority.

[02:29] >> We then move on to Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt. Hero, no matter how similar the aesthetics may be. Genius Prince is

[02:43] actual genius and one of the best rulers the kingdom of Natra can hope to have. there's nothing that the genius prince wants more than to sell the place off to Even more unfortunately for him, though, things seem to conspire against him, and

[02:58] selling off the kingdom just gets harder and harder. At least with each failure, citizens for what they are. This is an anime that hits a home run with its comedic timing and surprisingly good character and world-building. It seems

[03:10] anything but that when you start getting into it. I would definitely recommend waiting for the next episode to drop, so you just play some random mobile game to kill time? Yeah, turns out I've been doing that for free like an idiot.

[05:05] That's quite a mouthful for the title, yeah? And it's another new take on find an isekai where the protagonist and his best friend get summoned to another world with the clause that our hero ends up being a complete bombshell of a girl.

[05:18] Tachibana Hinata and said handsome friend Tsukasa now must defeat the Demon also to get him back to his original body. The premise should clue you in Japanese things at first glance, but it ended up being a winner. It's got great

[05:32] comedy owing to the setting, and those expecting a generic isekai will find expected. It's a rom-com isekai that derives its humor from how ridiculous some of the situations are, and it is a load of fun.

[05:57] of a group of children set up to have some fun times in space. However, life adventure gets crashed by an accident. Left with each other and technology, overcome the dangers that await them in space. Mysteries abound and we're given

[06:11] a story that sets us up to root for a ragtag group of children. But I think noteworthy. Given the nature of the production, that's also to be expected its world. The show is quite immersive as a result on a surface level, but it

[06:25] be uncovered once we dig a bit further past the surface. We're talking about meta commentaries on influencer culture, ethics, and the like. The pacing of Orbital Children can be a little bit hit or miss, but it's overall a beautifully

[06:38] themes that people might enjoy and relate to.

[06:51] >> When I saw this show, I expected an outrageous action-filled adventure and time. The fights are cool and all, but it's the world-building where this show episodes to kick off the series and set us into a world that's way different

[07:05] from our own. Yep, you heard that right. We're here for some wild, over-the-top fun. And over-the-top fun is what we get in this ride through a post-apocalyptic world. It's buoyed by the engaging and compelling characters and as far as

[07:17] complaints whatsoever about this show. For Studio Arzes' first project, the For Studio Arzes' first project, the guys have come up with a winner.

[07:36] Skeleton Knight in Another World. The title may seem either plain or edgy unique comfy feel that you don't see from action isekai too often. I've seen people compare it to Overlord, but besides having overpowered skeleton

[07:49] I think Skeleton Knight chooses to take a different approach with the character more traditional one if you like. That doesn't mean that the show is shallow or anything like that. For all we know, the world of Skeleton Knight is downright

[08:02] anti-royalty themes a lot of isekai seem to espouse. [music] It's a theme that I can't help but appreciate no matter how often it's been isn't enough to satisfy you, perhaps the visual and sound direction will.

[08:15] It's a casual isekai that doesn't revolutionary to the table. That doesn't mean you can't find something to like about it. It's got some great fights, a likable cast of characters, and nice art

[08:28] sexual scenes that could cause controversy, however. >> We have a movie up next, and it's Bubble.

[08:46] >> Classical literature being the inspiration for anime is nothing new, movie that's inspired by The Little Mermaid, as in the original tragic version of that? Yet, here we are with Bubble, a movie that dazzles us with

[08:59] symbolic world. Like a lot of anime films, Bubble has that magical aura all with the art that hearkens back to the Shinkai films we've come to love. The typical boy meets girl story that we've

[09:14] giving spoilers, I'd say that it adds more to that usual trope. One thing it has over a lot of other anime movies is how well it does immersion. A lot of anime films cheat immersion through rotoscoping visuals and all of that, but

[09:26] Bubble manages to keep the audience immersed in the fast pace of its action overwhelming. A decent story backed by stunning visuals and an amazing looking to pick up a new anime film.

[09:39] compared to the exploration and sci-fi in my opinion, but it's good enough in in my opinion, but it's good enough in all counts.

[10:05] Cute girls with guns [music] on special ops? I've seen a lot of those already, interest. However, watching Lycoris Recoil immediately made me think that not in the story or the setting being super unique or memorable or anything

[10:20] like that. It's all in the execution. People may flock to Lycoris Recoil for the strongest aspect [music] this anime has going for it is in its character colorful personality shines through in their interactions, and even the

[10:34] can really feel the chemistry between the characters of Lycoris Recoil, and Suddenly, a rescue op gets more rage moment carries more gravity, and you get hooked to watching the series,

[10:48] the characters. It's the emotional pull that's the boon of Lycoris Recoil. should forget the amazingly choreographed gun fights and action sequences. Those things get really tense at key moments.

[11:11] Mercury. With mecha as a genre taking more and [music] to keep up with the modern anime scene of trying to stand out, it's no franchise [music] to take that leap. Witch from Mercury decided to take the

[11:24] franchise to a place I never expected it would go to half a decade ago. The whole course Yuri [music] bait. What I like about Witch from Mercury, however, is modernization/innovation thing, we never lose too much focus on

[11:39] what I feel was the franchise's main appeal, the Mecca. The mobile suits look as good as ever, weaving the fun of robot battles, surprisingly tactical and animation that's surprisingly top-notch. Then again, it is Gundam, so what else

[11:52] to be a new launching pad for the franchise [music] to recapture its glory days, aiming to pull from both new fans and veterans. It's a serviceable one at days will ever come back in terms of popularity, but [music] Gundam is here

[12:05] popularity, but [music] Gundam is here to stay and evolve along with the times.

[12:22] Yeah, there's stuff like Ghost in the Shell, but how often do those come out, [music] much less be picked by the mainstream public? Then came Cyberpunk wild. [music] Cyberpunk Edgerunners broke all my

[12:35] expectations when I saw it. I saw it as probably a middle-of-the-road nice show promotion material for the gaming franchise, but I came out pleasantly [music] surprised to have seen a show that presents some strong and relatable

[12:47] and the explosions. The best part [music] of it is how it engages the before pulling the revelations, the world, the technology, and the action. it pulls [music] the curtain and reveals some twists that make us second-guess

[13:03] our life choices and perceptions right around episode 6. Trigger's also manning the wheel, so season fans will probably know what else to expect. Overall, a surprisingly good video game adaptation full of action and relevant themes, but

[13:15] surprisingly soon. Game adaptations have been getting better and better these been getting better and better these days.

[13:34] hero Shinpei uncovering the mysteries behind shadows that began appearing in connecting to human deaths and a sinister supernatural force enveloping we're in for a ride. Summertime Render is the show in this list that I feel the

[13:49] part of the series is done so well, [music] you're left anticipating the left and right. And as each episode unfolds, you start seeing the bigger is. It also does a great job in adding stakes to the time loop mechanic to keep

[14:04] protagonist a cheat code. The pacing is on point, the action's on point, and it's a show that has such a strong foundation in terms of its plot. Summertime Render has a serious case of being 2020's [music]

[14:17] being 2020's [music] anime of the year.

[14:33] the best one of them all, it does a great job capturing everyone's attention quality and eye-catching characters [music] and game designs. The animation is awesome, and this is a series whose author did some thorough research on

[14:47] gaming. Overall, there's an air of geniuses here, and it felt like the guys making it a passionate love letter to gaming and the community that made it possible. And it's a plot with a goofy start that gets even better as the anime

[15:00] this show by the time this video comes out, then come [music] on, have the time of your life. Shangri-La Frontier is such an entertaining show that even who've been in the world of video games will find it one of the most fun rides

[15:13] will find it one of the most fun rides in 2023.

[15:26] made some great first impressions coming into the fall 2023 season. I mean, I had and I'm glad to see that it got the start that it deserved. All it took was a first episode and a cool opening sequence to get the anime community

[15:39] what seemed to be David Production putting in a lot of effort in making a can see from holding this back from becoming even bigger is the weird streaming rights thing that also locked people who watch legally, just like what

[15:53] then. But, that shouldn't be enough to stop devoted anime fans from being able to experience this fun and exciting story that gives everyone a slice of series. Wacky turns of events, some top-notch action sequences, and a

[16:07] sprinkling of fan service that Shonen fans won't be strangers to. Make sure to tune in to Undead Unluck when you get the chance to.

[16:32] zombie craze of the 2010s. Are zombies cool again? Well, not exactly, but Zom 100 wasted little time setting the anime world on fire. No, adding a premise and a main character more relatable to the weary fresh grads and youths of today

[16:45] doesn't exactly make Zom 100 a unique zombie apocalypse story by a substantial amount. Who cares about being original when you can stand out in other aspects? You know, like having movie-quality art and animation from the get-go and a very

[16:57] expressive and charismatic cast of main characters. There's impeccable chemistry between members of the main group, and individually, they feel very loud and together to push the bar on what already started a pretty enjoyable ride through

[17:10] the zombie-laden Japan. Zom 100 is a solid watch, definitely deserving to be one of the best of 2023. It's just unfortunate that it's a victim of with what we have right now, it's still a worthwhile watch. Why don't you check

[17:23] it, too? It's nothing too original. The execution and seeing the characters in action make it A GREAT WATCH. >> [screaming]

[17:39] they're completely overshadowed by even the moderate hits of the season. I'm not that the best of them are better than the big hits from Japan, but I think them with you. After all, we've got a showcase of insanely good fight

[17:54] animation and action sequences from old hits like White Cat Legend, and a lot of the Guardians. Blades of the Guardians has a simple premise with a historical gripping in the show that would make you want to keep watching it. It could be

[18:07] the characters or the way the story moves on and develops at a good pace. It while feeling the stakes and the dangers of its era in history. It didn't take immersed in this anime, so you should give it a shot and see for yourself,

[18:20] give it a shot and see for yourself, too.

[18:33] and I think it's surpassed all expectations [music] and became my favorite amongst the new action anime from 2023. Integrating good world building and engaging mysteries into an action title turns out to be quite a

[18:46] have thought, eh? And it helps that there's this uncanny atmosphere to keep contemplating the more mature themes the anime has for the audience. [music] It's hit like the big action titles are, but it does more than well enough for

[19:01] itself, I'd say. Heavenly Delusion does have rather risque content that might shock viewers, but it remains one of the best in 2023. With enough action and an interesting world, one filled with a sense of mystery, it showcases the

[19:13] potential of action anime. It's not all about the breathtaking animation and get the appeal of hype, but there's a lot more to anime action than those, and lot more to anime action than those, and Heavenly Delusion more THAN PROVES IT.

[19:40] focus is about a human and a ghost or some spiritual being teaming up to deal with supernatural threats. Heck, winter 2020 had two of them, albeit with settings. I think that on paper not a lot of people would find Toilet-Bound

[19:54] Hanako-kun anything too special compared to In/Spectre, its primary seasonal It seems to be your relaxed action version of In/Spectre. However, I think that Hanako-kun really takes it to

[20:07] two main characters. The characters in especially the main lead. I also liked how the arcs are quite quick and into one another. Is Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun an unpopular show? Not by a

[20:21] long shot. Is it better than a lot of people give it credit for? I definitely people give it credit for? I definitely think so.

[20:41] this list. I've talked about how much I like the short series for many videos traction. That's understandable given its nature, but I'd like to once again encourage you to watch this show. Being much shorter than a full anime series,

[20:54] the short running time you get treated to a lot of amazing fight scenes and unique art style that gives its own signature flair. The story's also pretty animation and art direction is really where Fog Hill shines. You'll be

[21:07] that are as good as it in these departments. Watch out. I'm telling you, Chinese anime is about to take the world by storm.

[21:27] when it was first announced. Then, circumstances forced it out of theaters. Then, it became a Netflix movie, and then it ended up being a one-and-done that it would end up having a fight like this. I'm not saying that that's a bad

[21:41] the messed-up situation of the world at large, A Whisker Away could have been a lot better and definitely more popular. After watching it, I really don't mind Miyazaki or a Shinkai film. Leave the comparisons and the expectations aside,

[21:56] whimsical and fantastic [music] adventure into the beauty of magical the helm, and I like her work generally speaking. It really makes me feel that with the way it looks and how the [music] story flows. With that being

[22:11] if you haven't done so yet. It's a fun adventure that would provide a fun way for you to pass a weekend with the family or your loved one.

[22:27] Kakushigoto, I immediately thought of the infamous Eromanga Sensei, a far more wholesome take on the secret identity storyline and minus the [music] incest of it in that way? However, when I was done with Kakushigoto, I got an

[22:40] it's certainly a great way to subvert expectations, right? Kakushigoto is primarily a comedy, no doubt, but it does have a lot of genuinely touching complete the experience. The characters are easy to sympathize with, and I know

[22:54] some of you can also relate to the situation of having a double identity. I know I certainly did. When Kakushigoto was airing, I didn't notice that much in here because I think it's severely underrated. Come in for the comedy and

[23:06] you'll come out with some feels and some honestly dramatic and melancholic honestly dramatic and melancholic moments.

[23:23] survival game with gifted people gaining powers from a supernatural source. While I like the overall character designs for Darwin's Game more, Gleipnir has far darker tone and atmosphere. Personally, I just like how all in Gleipnir goes in

[23:36] its gritty survival premise. Gleipnir decides to skirt classic conventions and in a revenge storyline. The atmosphere is also darker and more of a mystery. doesn't equal good, it works like a charm in Gleipnir. The only downer for

[23:51] the show, in my opinion, is its kind of nonsensical last episode cuz they wanted fight, but the manga version of that fight is a bit far off from where the episode count ended. Taking advantage of the barren spring season, Gleipnir got

[24:03] However, I think that barring circumstances, the show would have state in the community right now. It state in the community right now. It does deserve more love. Really, it does.

[24:18] knew immediately where Dorohedoro would be in the anime popularity ladder, so to speak. Dorohedoro prides itself on its black comedy, crass humor, over-the-top doesn't exactly tell the story of an underdog learning to survive the

[24:32] dog-eat-dog world like what Vinland Saga or other similarly dark shows would have done. For me, Dorohedoro didn't follow the traditional formula for mainstream success. However, I knew that with how all in it went on those mature themes

[24:44] and story execution that it would find itself as an underrated gem by some that's exactly what it became. In a more mainstream appeal like Bofuri, Dorohedoro is probably at the exact spot

[24:57] [music] where I expected it to land. Still, if you're up for some mature and wild entertainment, Dorohedoro might just be the hidden gem for you.

[25:10] another derivative of the Attack on Titan formula. Still, I can't understand something as good as it would warrant. The crisp and fluid visuals aside, I do to kick things into a high gear. You've got the amazing fight in the opening

[25:24] video, but it did turn out to have a pretty slow start. Overall, I like feels. You can quickly tell that a lot of love and care has been put into the characters are fun to watch, and

[25:37] expect from this series at first glance. Stop [music] sleeping on Deca-Dence, Stop [music] sleeping on Deca-Dence, guys. season. Who doesn't love a cop show with a lot of psychological thriller

[25:51] elements? Not exactly too many people, it seems. Now, this isn't a knock on the that looked like Psycho-Pass, I expected a bit more pull and fanfare coming in. I guess it's the comparisons though to the masterpiece that is Psycho-Pass, which

[26:04] makes ID: Invaded unappreciated. Setting aside the comparisons, I believe that ID right. At its core, it's a pretty nice to be a serious live-action crime drama. It also has a lot of well-written

[26:17] usual tropes that you see in the medium. So, yeah. Stop calling it a poor man's [music] ID: Invaded a shot. It's definitely going to be worth your time.

[26:40] overdrive in taking those big projects. >> [music] >> You know, these guys from stuff like Chainsaw Man, AoT, Jujutsu Kaisen, and

[26:53] isekai. Indeed, it's not the place to expect MAPPA to be, but man, did they do a good job on this one. Isekai and cooking as a combination is nothing new. We already have a handful of those, but Campfire Cooking still manages to be

[27:06] all know the drill, don't we? Amongst the group of heroes transported into another world, one guy, who's the protagonist, gets blessed with a power that's completely out of the left field. So, in this case, instead of something

[27:18] that can still be combat-worthy, Tsuyoshi finds himself specializing in if you can use it to attract the aid of the legendary wolf Fenrir. Thus, this

[27:33] strange world, solving problems and preparing the best and most amazing meals for this world's inhabitants. As you might expect, Campfire Cooking is a really chill anime. There's the isekai to give the whole thing a vibrant

[27:46] fight, but it's mostly focused on the cooking aspect. It's funny, relaxing, and actually, it's quite educational, if I do say so myself.

[28:18] gender bender isekai. It's a genre that's picking up steam in the online something alluring about being a guy reincarnated into [music] a girl and training from the ground up, honing your skills and unlocking OP powers as you go

[28:31] along. And I'd say that as a show, it's fine. Something that isekai fans will quickly, but it's got enough cool moments, beautiful art, flashy action designs that will keep you entertained. I just feel that in terms of what isekai

[28:45] and action fantasy fans typically look for, Reborn to Master [music] the Blade protagonist does have an interesting dynamic within herself, having different her two incarnations. Still, I've got to say the show finds itself as a niche

[28:59] title that I'm not sure I could just recommend to anyone randomly. So, I'm placing it here, but I did definitely enjoy it enough to include in this list.

[29:16] Following that, we have Reincarnation of Strongest Exorcist in Another World.

[29:30] reincarnation land again. >> Oh, [ __ ] Here we go again. though, I think this is the reincarnation show that viewers will be book and it does create an underdog story setup with our protagonist

[29:44] reincarnating into someone with far less power than he initially had to wield. been enjoying the character growth in terms of the protagonist Seika and the people who we all know will end up becoming his traveling companions and

[29:56] lonely at the top sometimes and returning as a more toned-down version of himself gives Seika a chance to forge bonds that he never had the chance to power fantasy at the end of it all, it's the journey and the ride itself that's

[30:09] going to matter. If you're a fan of the genre and the whole power fantasy thing, then this is a show that you're not going to want to miss.

[30:29] is a show that's riding high on the popularity of Spy Family and Yakuza that comparison, Buddy Daddies remains a pretty fun show to follow and watch. While it doesn't quite hit the mark if you compare it to Spy x Buddy Daddies

[30:42] that brings a crude type of humor and over-the-top action in a similar vein to say Lupin the 3rd. Buddy Daddies won't be the show to set the anime world on go through the pressures and the stresses of the weekly grind, but I am

[30:56] stresses of the weekly grind, but I am sure glad I decided to give IT A SHOT.

[31:16] STANDARDS, meaning a guy who's been watching stuff in the '90s, Trigun is an my heart, actually. It's not anime of the decade or anything like that, but I do feel it deserves its place as one of the classics from its time. Trigun

[31:29] Stampede as a return of the IP in the modern times ended up being a little bit more 50/50. On one hand, I do like how Trigun was reintroduced to the modern of the swagger and the cool action scenes of the original. It's really nice

[31:42] to see Vash back in action and still being the badass that he was. For new Stampede does its job [music] decently well. It's got great fight animation and the constant action ought to keep fans

[31:54] not quite the original, but I feel that it's an adjusted version for modern flashy visuals. It's the same though that it will never be mainstream because it's completely CGI. I really hope people do give it a shot.

[32:23] lot of bangers now, both in the world of anime and Western animation. These video game adaptations have already stepped up and taken the world by storm. The Cyberpunk anime was great. So, under the same good circumstances, I had no doubt

[32:36] that the Nier anime would be a home run. And for the most part of it, it actually is. It would have been a challenge to adapt such a widely known and popular video game product as an anime, but this adaptation captured the magic of the

[32:48] games, the themes regarding humanity, the epic action sequences, the breathtaking aesthetic and style that fits the title so much. NieR as an IP and as a universe has so much story to tell, and I'm pleased to say that the

[33:00] amazing narrative side has been captured in this anime adaptation.

[33:19] >> It's not our first rodeo with an anime told from the perspective of a skeleton the most popular amongst these shows, but I think we can extend that a bit to Skeleton Knight in Another World. However, what Unwanted Undead Adventurer

[33:31] decided to do a bit differently is place the emphasis on this being a more what it means to be reborn as well as a slower pace, and the production decisions with the visuals and the

[33:43] deliberate main character-centric approach. It helps give a good look at that I appreciate a lot. Still, that kind of decision can be hit or miss. for its own good, and I'm inclined to agree. All that despite me just saying

[33:58] heavily character-centric approach. Feel free to give it a shot, though. I think but I can see why the slow pacing is a miss for a lot of anime fans.

[34:29] gimmicks we can throw it to make it seem unique, right? Well, not exactly. into the boom and the anime and light novel industry keeps finding new permutations of gimmicks, mixing and matching them to give a lot of similar

[34:43] two. The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic also falls into that category. A lot of the things here are tropes we've seen before. An everyman protagonist getting another world is one. A world with black and white morality as well as elements

[34:57] of both racism is two. However, this anime manages to keep things seemingly fresh with how it plays these tropes and showcases the quirky characters whose archetypes we're quite familiar with yet now see in a new light. I mean, it's not

[35:09] to Use Healing Magic for things like overcoming training from hell. The anime is quite absurd and funny yet it also contains a plethora of hype moments make the show quite similar to a traditional shonen run through the lens

[35:23] traditional shonen run through the lens of THE MODERN ERA.
