Colin and Samir break down the 30+ new features YouTube announced at its latest Made on YouTube event, highlighting the ones they believe will impact creators most. From co-posting collaborations and A/B testing titles to Gemini-powered podcast clips and dynamic brand placements, the video covers the future of creator tools including significant AI integrations.
YouTube announced more than 30 new features. Colin and Samir selected their favorites that they believe will change the future for YouTube creators the most.
For the first time, creators can co-post videos together. Up to five creators can be added as collaborators to one video. The video is shared to every collaborator's channel, and the uploading creator gets credit for viewership and AdSense revenue.
YouTube now allows testing up to three thumbnails and titles. The platform automatically picks the best title and thumbnail combination based on watch time percentage, removing guesswork for creators.
Gemini will scan long-form videos and suggest the best moments for clips and Shorts. YouTube chose a clip from Colin and Samir's interview with Ryan Tran during his 50 states in 50 days series as an example.
Creators will be able to live stream both horizontally and vertically at the same time with one unified chat. Vertical streams will also appear in the Shorts feed, expanding discoverability.
Creators can practice streams in private before going live, including simulated comments. This helps reduce nervousness and get used to the live experience.
AI highlights will automatically create Shorts from live stream content, making it easier to repurpose live moments.
Google's latest generative video model, Veo, is coming to Shorts. It enables tools like 'add motion' to reanimate your whole body based on a trending video, and 'add objects' using recommendations from Gemini.
Ask Studio is an AI partner that lets creators have a conversation with their YouTube channel. It can answer questions like top five thumbnails by CTR, fastest-growing country, or suggest a log line for brands.
Over the past four years, YouTube has paid out $100 billion to creators, artists, and media companies, highlighting the platform's support for creator businesses.
Starting next year, creators can mark slots in videos where sponsored segments can be added or removed. This allows more flexibility and could drastically change how brand deals work.
YouTube's latest feature drop is heavily AI-forward and creator-centric, giving individuals and small teams the kind of tools that used to require a production crew. The biggest winners will be creators who embrace collaboration, testing, and AI-assisted workflows.

04:57[00:08] not only the words coming out of my mouth,
[00:20] and that is one of more than 30 new features that YouTube just dropped. And we've selected our favorites to break down that we think are going to change the future for YouTube creators the most. And the last one is one that we've
[00:33] never thought would come. >> What a retention play on you, Call. >> You got to stay till the end. >> Got to stay till the end. Number two, collaborations. For the first time ever, creators can co-post videos together. Up
[00:45] to five creators can be added as collaborators to one video. >> We actually just did this in an episode with Michelle K, and it was really cool comment section. >> And these videos get shared to
[00:57] subscribe button for every channel. Now, for everyone wondering, the creator that uploads the video gets the credit for the viewership as well as the AdSense revenue. Collaborations are truly one of the best ways to grow as a creator. And
[01:09] now there's an even better way to collaborate on YouTube. You ever find turning because you can't decide which title and thumbnail to use? >> Well, now YouTube just solved that problem. Last year, they announced that
[01:22] you could AB test thumbnails. And now this year, you're going to be able to AB test up to three thumbnails as well as titles. So, YouTube automatically picks the best title and thumbnail combination based on watchtime percentage. All
[01:36] podcaster, this one's really big. Automatic video clips and shorts for podcasts. So Gemini will scan your long- form videos and suggest the best moments our interview with Ryan Tran that we did during his 50 states in 50 days. And
[01:51] here's the clip that YouTube chose. >> Let's just start with why are you actually making a video every single day for 50 days? What is the series? audiences to discover our show and this makes it way easier and faster for us.
[02:05] >> Next, live streaming. Live streaming has grown immensely on YouTube and it results in some of the most diehard communities and fan bases on the platform and soon creators are going to be able to live stream both horizontally
[02:17] and vertically at the same time with one unified chat. Now, this means that your more easily because they're also going to be showing up in the short speed. >> Z and Vert both coming soon. >> You're telling me you you call it Z?
[02:33] >> I call it Z horizontal. >> I call it Z. Zo N T. What do you call it? >> Horizontal. And these are just a few of the updates coming to live on YouTube because like we said, there are over 30
[02:47] new updates. Have they lost their mind? YouTube, have you lost your mind? Over 30. You can also practice your stream in private before you go live vertically >> which is great for someone like me because I get very nervous when I'm
[03:00] simulated comments and really get used to what it's going to be like. Another feature coming to live streaming is AI powered highlights. So, this creates on shorts. >> Mir, do you remember at the beginning of
[03:13] >> When I said that the last announcement is something that we've been waiting a >> Yeah. Are we there? >> No. >> Got it. All right. Just bear with us here. Stay till the end. Good. Hey,
[03:26] >> All right. YouTube is bringing VO, which is Google's latest generative video model, into Shorts. And that means that Shorts is about to get some pretty crazy AI powered tools. First, add motion. So, this allows you to reanimate your whole
[03:39] body based on a trending video. So, here's a photo that Colin took of me. And now I'm doing karate like pretty well, too. And then there's the add objects to your shorts using
[03:52] recommendations from Gemini. >> Samir, would you explain to me what this actually means for the future of video creation? So this feels to me like the creation? So this feels to me like the evolution of memes online. Memes have
[04:04] been this building block of culture on the internet. A way that people take internet video and use it as units of conversation. So this allows you to remix and recreate your own videos in ways that you just could never before.
[04:18] >> Okay. Next up, YouTube is adding Ask Studio, which is an AI partner built >> It's like having a conversation with your YouTube channel. So, here are some questions that I would ask studio. What are our top five thumbnails with the
[04:32] highest click-through rate? In which country is our YouTube channel growing the fastest? And what would be a good log line that we could use to describe our channel to brands? Okay, so over the past four years, YouTube has paid out
[04:44] hundred billion to creators, artists, and media companies. And YouTube's tools continue to support creators like us to launch and build businesses. And that brings us to the final update, the one that you've been waiting for and the one
[04:57] that could drastically change creator businesses forever. The ability to dynamically feature brands in YouTube videos. We're going to have to explain that. So, typically when we do a brand deal, that branded segment, the part
[05:09] where we go, "This video is sponsored by," is just a part of the video and it lives on the channel forever. But starting next year, we can actually mark slots in our videos where sponsored segments that we make can be added or
[05:21] removed. This is huge for creators and gives us a lot more options for how we more of the updates that YouTube just announced, check out the full Made on >> And I'm Samir. And thanks for watching all the way to the end. Seriously,
[05:37] >> it's very kind of you. >> And if you're still here, it's over. Actually, now it's actually over. You can you can totally go now. Seriously. Seriously. Yeah. All right. See you.
