[04:07] finally give it another chance. While it's airing alongside WITH OH [\h__\h] TO the Umam Musme franchise, acting as somewhat of a prequel. But you don't franchise to enjoy it, which I can guarantee cuz I also didn't and I

[04:22] skipped all of these to get straight to this one. But but after watching this, going to go back and experience everything the franchise has to offer because what an experience this was. We cool. So, if you're like me, you don't

[04:36] taste to see if you want to commit to the entire franchise, start. >> The series follows the legacy of Augguri countryside town of Kasamatsu as she breaks out of a small town to become a

[05:02] But if there's one thing she can do, it's run like an absolute beast. And by From my memory, season 1 felt more like an idol show kind of vibe with some to today, it's clear it has fully embraced the sport, the drama, the

[05:16] stakes, ringing much closer to a shownen sports anime than anything. The idol aspect takes a little bit of a backseat, and what we are left with is highintensity, heart pounding races, one after another, as Auggry makes a name

[05:28] I love sports anime, but you know how this [\h__\h] goes. The first episode of the Honestly, a bit too smoothly, and you start thinking to yourself, uh, it's It doesn't go this smoothly. Second episode, the opposing team enacts their

[05:43] throws everything into a loop. That one uninformed guy in the crowd is like, has probably [\h__\h] himself in the process. Then you get to episode 3. This waiting for. After 60 minutes of being [\h__\h] around, the protagonist finally

[05:59] locks in, figures out the opponent, developing his new ability in the last minute that wins them the game. YES. [screaming] enough and you get to these two episodes

[06:14] and you're like, "Come on, can we just do a thing already?" Cinderella Gay wastes no time in throwing you head first into the action. Every episode run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run eat

[06:26] [\h__\h] fatso parenthesis affectionate races never overstate their welcome. In how fast-paced it run through them all. this new character, this new rival for this one big race, then it's over and

[06:39] might sound a bit quick for you season sports anime watchers, and it would be that case if these races weren't such a concentrated burst of adrenaline. At [\h__\h] running [music] like this, but once I got over that, it so perfectly

[06:52] pushing themselves past the limit to reach inhuman speeds. Racers quickly appreciate the different approaches of each runner. As the race plays out, you the screen cuz you're anticipating that moment where they get to the final

[07:08] stretch. When the anime ramps up with an energy that doesn't just burst out, it energy that doesn't just burst out, it explodes. You hear the roar of the crowd as the commentator eggs them on as you watch

[09:20] the references. What I didn't realize is that the entire story is based on real life events, real races, real careers. Agree coming from the small Japanese eventually set the nation on fire and become a cultural phenomenon. That

[09:33] against a rival horse named Tamo Cross that also happened to be an ash gray the source material for this was a manga, but it turns out it was [\h__\h] Wikipedia. [music]

[09:49] >> It is insane how perfectly Augur's story was set up for a shownen underdog story. further in and you see that the real Auggury cap was born with a deformity in his leg causing it to be bent. Trainers were unsure if he could even walk let

[10:03] alone run. And this was portrayed in the anime by her mom massaging her flexible that's why she loves to run just cuz she can run. [laughter] And this was the exact moment I realized I was lost down into the Umamus rabbit

[10:17] Knowing this stuff is not necessary at all, but it just adds that extra layer of appreciation to the stories you're seeing unfold and puts the pieces into place of why an anime about horse girls running felt more real than your typical

[10:30] source anime. An upset genuinely feels like an upset. There is no plot armor or in real life. And unless you spoiled yourself [music] by googling the source material, you feel that tension in the race during those big moments. Will
