[00:01] Promise me you will come back.
[00:08] >> What if I can't?
[00:11] >> The Odyssey is a massive story. That's a
[00:15] really exciting challenge to take on.
[00:18] >> This is definitely the biggest movie
[00:20] that I've ever done in my career. It
[00:22] feels like we made six or seven movies.
[00:24] And in a sense, we did. every single
[00:26] kind of chapter of this adventure was at
[00:29] a different location that posed a
[00:31] different challenge.
[00:32] >> You just know that the locations when
[00:34] you're telling a story like this are
[00:35] going to be like characters unto
[00:36] themselves. So, they have to be extra
[00:37] special. And so, we found ourselves in
[00:40] these really amazing places.
[00:44] >> There are parts of the world that I
[00:45] don't think I would even have ever seen
[00:48] or known about had it not been for this
[00:50] experience. As an actress, it's such a
[00:52] luxury to be in such an immersive space.
[00:55] I don't have to pretend like I'm on a
[00:56] boat. I am on the boat, you know, like
[00:58] we are at sea. What a gift. You know,
[01:02] there's a certain level of information
[01:04] that you learn when something is real.
[01:07] So, when you go to these places, you
[01:08] just feel it and it just adds another
[01:11] layer to what it is that you're trying
[01:12] to express.
[01:14] >> Action.
[01:15] >> One of the things I like about shooting
[01:17] on location is we're moving countries
[01:19] every couple of weeks, so it gives you
[01:21] this incredible momentum.
[01:24] The issue on this film is that we're
[01:26] shooting in extraordinary places that
[01:28] were hard to get to, hard to shoot in.
[01:30] >> You know, you normally if you're doing a
[01:31] Hollywood movie at the base camp is 10
[01:33] seconds away from the set. When you're
[01:35] shooting Chris not movie, it's like
[01:37] that's a 45minute hike in sandals.
[01:40] They're full costume. I mean, every
[01:43] location we went to, I would get there
[01:44] and I'd just start laughing. Go like,
[01:46] who thought you should shoot a movie
[01:48] here?
[01:50] You know, we're shooting in Nester's
[01:52] cave in Greece. It's this incredible
[01:54] place, but nobody's ever tried to shoot
[01:56] a film up there. And so to see the
[01:58] rigging that they did to basically turn
[02:00] it into a natural sound stage, I I don't
[02:03] I don't know any other director who
[02:05] would try it.
[02:06] >> There was no location that was
[02:09] straightforward and easy, but all of
[02:11] those locations made sense for the
[02:13] story. Really, it wouldn't be the film
[02:15] that it is without going there and doing
[02:17] it for real.
[02:20] The scale was so so big. I think what's
[02:24] so special about Chris's movies is that
[02:26] he goes the extra distance to make it
[02:28] feel authentic for us on set, which then
[02:30] makes it feel more authentic for the
[02:32] audience in the theater.
[02:34] >> I mean, there's a reason we call these
[02:35] things odysseies. This is the Odyssey,
[02:37] and it really is a journey through all
[02:39] of these incredible places and hopefully
[02:42] something that just really profoundly
[02:44] entertains and moves people.
[02:46] >> As a fan, I'm so excited. I cannot wait
[02:49] to sit in that IMAX theater and
[02:52] completely be lost in this world that
[02:54] he's created.
