This video provides a comprehensive ranking of the best weapons in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, focusing on both steel and silver swords. It highlights top-tier options like Aerondight and the Toussaint Knight's Steel Sword, explains how to obtain them, and discusses niche builds and the new transmogrification feature.
Almost all statistically strongest weapons are in the Blood and Wine expansion, as it's the highest level content.
Aerondight is the best silver sword, obtained by earning all five chivalric virtues and completing the 'There Can Only Be One' side quest.
Aerondight's mechanic: hits generate charges increasing damage by 10%, guaranteeing crits when fully charged. Killing with a fully charged sword permanently increases base damage.
The Crafted Toussaint Knight's Steel Sword is the strongest steel sword, with high base damage, armor piercing, crit chance, and bleed/burn chance.
The Grandmaster Griffin Silver Sword provides a 21% sign intensity boost (up to 25%), scaling all spells. Requires completing the Scavenger Hunt quest in Toussaint.
Disheft is a silver sword with a 20% sign intensity boost, found in Blood and Wine by following the Will of the Wisps.
Iris is a unique steel sword from Hearts of Stone, building energy on light attacks to unleash a powerful heavy strike. Pairs well with Bloodbath mutation.
The Belhaven Blade offers a 15% poison chance and 100% crit damage bonus. Its predecessor, the Vitus Venomous Steel Sword, is found in the Open Duffney quest.
The Bloodsword, found in Skellige, has a guaranteed bleed chance, synergizing with Wolven gear. The Geralt of Rivia crossbow is the highest damaging ranged option.
Transmogrification lets you change gear appearance while retaining stats, but requires unlocking master blacksmiths Ioana and Hattori.
The best weapons in The Witcher 3 are largely found in Blood and Wine, with Aerondight and the Toussaint Knight's Steel Sword leading the pack. For sign builds, the Grandmaster Griffin Silver Sword is essential, while niche options like the Bloodsword and Geralt of Rivia crossbow offer fun alternatives. The remaster's transmogrification feature adds a layer of customization, but requires unlocking the master blacksmiths.
Aerondight is the best silver sword
It's a returning iconic weapon that remains the top choice for almost every build.

The permanent base damage increase makes it a weapon that grows with you, rewarding early acquisition.

Its combination of high base damage, armor piercing, and status effects makes it a staple.

The 21% sign intensity boost is a massive scaling factor for spell-focused builds.
02:59Transmogrification requires master blacksmiths
It's a quality-of-life feature that's gated behind progression, adding a layer of customization.
06:55[00:00] With so many weapons to choose from in The Witcher 3, across both your steel and silver swords, and, I guess, your crossbows, if you're the one person that uses it, it can be hard to pick out which ones are actually worth keeping equipped.
[00:13] While your choice is heavily intertwined with the armour sets and character builds you're running, there are a few options that sit head and shoulders above the rest. If you're looking to deal out tons of damage, here's our official ranking of the best weapons in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Remastered.
[00:30] Unsurprisingly, almost all of the statistically strongest weapons are tucked away in the Blood
[00:42] and Wine extension, given that it's the highest level content in the game. That said, a few essential picks are still worth hunting down early, like the Blood Sword for Morgren.
[01:00] Aaron Dyke sits at the top of the S tier. First featured in The Witcher 1 and 2, this iconic silver sword returns in blood and wine and remains the undisputed king of silver blades
[01:12] for almost every build. To get it, you need to prove your honour by earning all five chivalric virtues and completing the There Can Only Be One side quest into Sank. Behold, your Arendite.
[01:26] Arendite is ridiculously overpowered because every successful hit generates charges that increase your sword damage by 10%, guaranteeing the critical hit once fully charged. Even better, killing an enemy with a fully loaded sword expends those charges to permanently increase its base damage, meaning the earlier you unlock it, the harder it's going to hit as you scale into medium plus.
[01:52] If you can avoid taking damage and keep building those charges it becomes an absolute monster Next up for Steel Weapons is the Crafted Tucson Knight Steel Sword
[02:09] While you can find lesser Magic or Master versions out in the wild, the Crafted variant is by far the strongest Steel Sword in the game. To get the blueprints, you'll need to clear out the hand space at the Aulac Ruins in Northern Tucson,
[02:22] defeat the boss at the top of the tower, and take the diagram straight to Master Blacksmith. What makes it an absolute staple is its absurdly high base damage, its massive armor piercing, bonus critical hit chance, and the passive chance to inflict both bleed and burn on enemy soldiers.
[02:43] If you're running a fine heavy build, your ultimate goal is the Grandmaster Griffin Silver Sword. Getting your hands on Grandmaster Witcher gear is always a bit of an ordeal, since you need the master crafted version first, but it is well worth the effort.
[02:59] Once you complete the Scavenger Hunt Grandmaster Gryphon gear quest in Tucson and craft it, you get a massive 21 base boost to sign intensity, which scales the power of every single spell you cast.
[03:11] You can level that up to 25%, which is huge. Throw away its extra critical hit damage, dismemberment chance and bonus monster experience and it easily outclasses the competition when paired with the full Grandmaster Gryphon armour set.
[03:30] Four alternative sign set-ups look more clever than Disheft and its steel counterpart, Dutis. Disheft is a silver sword that flatly grounds a massive 20% sign intensity boost across all five signs.
[03:43] It's also a really neat little Dark Souls easter egg where Geralt kneels down at a bonfire. You can grab it during the main story in Blood and Wine while exploring the land of a thousand
[03:55] stables Just beat the cloud giant leap over the bridge railings and follow the Will of the Wisps down into a cave Following that same Will of the Wisps over past One Walk Tower we also leading directly to Jesus on a Fallen Knight Corpse
[04:10] giving you matching 20% magic boost across both weapon slots. Moving into ATX Steel Swords, we have Iris, the unique turf blade rewarded for completing the Hearts of Stone expansion.
[04:26] assuming you choose to side with all geared at the end of whatsoever a man's soar. Iris builds energy as you land light attacks in combat, turning bright red when it's fully charged so that you can unleash a devastating, extra-powerful heavy strike.
[04:48] With the remaster's red combat skills encouraging you to wield light and heavy attacks together, Iris is an absolute dream when paired with a Bloodbath mutation build.
[05:03] If you prefer damage over time setups, the Belhaven Blade is a top tier crashable steel sword from Toussaint that packs a 15% chance to poison enemies on hit, alongside a staggering 100% bonus to critical hit damage.
[05:17] If you're still working your way through hearts of stone, you can grab its predecessor, the Vita Venomous Steel Sword, by looting the vault chest during the Open Duffney quest.
[05:29] I prefer to resolve this elsewhere. Stolen scroll will throw you out into the street. Revenge is best served cold. Pair either of these with the Vita Venomous Silver Sword, which you can pull from the
[05:41] stone in Master Mirror's Nightmare Realm, and you'll have a lethal, poison and odd combo heading into the endgame.
[05:56] The niche builds feature hold some surprisingly fun options The Bloodsort found during the Inheritance treasure hunt in Skellige features a guaranteed chance to inflict bleeding which synergises so well with the Wolven Witcher gear.
[06:14] And finally, if you actually want to make your ranged weapon useful, the Geralt of Rivia crossbow, unlocked by winning the shooting tournament in the Warble of a Smitten Knight, is the highest damaging option available.
[06:26] Alternatively, the Earthline crossbow, found during the Bear School's scavenger hunt in Skellige, offers strong critical hit boosts that pair so well with heavier tank builds. But remember, with The Witcher 3 Remastered's brand new transmogrification feature, you
[06:43] can change the appearance of both your armour and weapons while retaining their original stats. But in classic CD Projekt Red style, it's not quite as easy as just going through your
[06:55] inventory from the get-go, much to the disappointment of some fans. It doesn't work quite like how it did in Cyberpunk 2077. You're going to need to unlock the two master blacksmiths, Ioana and Hattori, each specialising
[07:10] in armour and weapons respectively. Greetings, I hear. Greetings, girls. How might I be of help? Listen, would you craft something for me?
[07:22] If you want to pull off a fit with the stats that you want, it is going to cost you quite a bit. Luckily for you, we've made a full guide on how to unlock this highly requested feature, so it shouldn't take you too long, so make sure you check it out too.
[07:37] Let me know what you think of The Witcher 3 Remastered if you're playing it, and if you get stuck anywhere else, we've got guides to every corner of this massive RPG. Whatever you're looking for, you're in the right place.
