What's Your Favorite Gaming Memory? - XBOX 25th Anniversary

[00:00] In celebration of Xbox's 25th anniversary, Fanta and Xbox teamed up to release special edition cans showcasing iconic characters from legendary gaming franchises.

[00:12] We took the opportunity to surprise IGN staff with these limited edition cans. Oh, all right, I get Diablo. I got Halo. Ooh, World of Warcraft. I love Forza Horizon. Orange Panda and it's Call of Duty.

[00:24] I'm so glad I get to talk about Diablo and probably throw back a few of these in the process because it's going to be fun. Presented by Fanta.

[00:37] Oh, my first memory playing Diablo. I go all the way back to the original game. Blizzard did a beta test. You actually had to sign up on their website and be selected to get into the beta test.

[00:50] And then they would mail you a disc. They would mail you a CD. I did not get selected, but my best friend Robert did. And so I spent so much time at his house and we played the heck out of that game.

[01:03] I fell immediately in love with it. And as soon as the final game came out I been a Diablo super fan ever since I fondly remember my first time playing Halo My dad was just like Branda come here

[01:16] We're going to play the Halo campaign together in a co-op. And I was just like so excited because it's been like this, you know, like cool thing that I've always wanted to play. My first memory of playing World of Warcraft was not knowing anything about what I was doing.

[01:31] I saw quest markers. I clicked them. But more important than that was discovering the world itself. Through that first playthrough of my first character in WoW, there was, I guess, a sense of immersion that it felt like a world that I wanted to be a part of.

[01:47] Oh, wow. My first memory playing Call of Duty would have to be playing with my brother's zombies. Call of Duty Zombies was one of our favorite things to play and run through. It was so fun, so addictive, and so terrifying.

[01:59] Also, we couldn't just stop playing it. So my favorite Forza Horizon moment, it would be that original mission for Forza Horizon 5 where you're jumping out of a plane in a car and it's got like a parachute. You're jumping into a volcano. It's like everything is going crazy and you're just in the center of it. It's awesome.

[02:18] I have played Combat Evolved an untold number of times Not only does it have an anniversary but a new game with Campaign Evolved So going into Campaign Evolved is really exciting for me because I get to see it with whole new vision

[02:32] I think when you look at MMORPGs before WoW and when you think about where it is now, it really set the bar. Some of my favorite games today are directly influenced by WoW. How you socialize in an MMORPG, how classes work, and how progression works with characters.

[02:50] I just think WoW is still a masterclass in world building. I don't think there's ever been a Forza Horizon game that I've not enjoyed. And the fact that 5 and 6 have both gotten 10 out of 10 masterpieces from IGN, I think tells you everything you need to know.

[03:05] What's fun about this Fanta partnership for Diablo fans is that you get an in-game item with the can. And of course, Diablo fans know that most of the fun of Diablo is whatever your next unique,

[03:19] cool, fun item is. So, you know, the fact that there's a little bit of a crossover from the real world here with the can Great I in It just like OK I going to go buy myself a little treat and get something for my game that I going to be enjoying anyway Like it a perfect pairing I already keeping one for myself but I sure there going to be a lot of people

[03:37] that are going to be collecting one of each two. So my cousin actually collects special edition soda cans. It's like his thing, so I'm definitely going to gift him this. He's going to go nuts for it. This is a collector's item, so get your hands on it while you still can.
