▶ Play Clip"The title promises a 'huge Marvel news roundup' but delivers a casual podcast with lots of banter and speculation, not hard news."
In this episode of Screen Crush, the hosts discuss recent Marvel leaks and rumors, including three mystery characters in 'Avengers: Secret Wars', Sacha Baron Cohen's Mephisto in 'Ghost Rider', and Dafne Keen's X-23 as the new Wolverine. They speculate on the identities of the Latverian witches, the role of Doctor Doom, and the future of the X-Men franchise.
According to Alex Perez, there are three new mystery characters in 'Avengers: Secret Wars' that haven't been seen before.
Rumor that Sacha Baron Cohen's Mephisto will appear in 'Ghost Rider'.
Rumor that Dafne Keen's X-23 will be the Wolverine for the MCU.
Leaked images from San Diego Comic-Con show three Latverian witches, with speculation on their identities (e.g., Clea, Wanda, Ancient One, Sylvie).
The witches could be entirely new characters, not variants, possibly serving as fodder for heroes.
Colton suggests the witches could be Gamora, Black Widow, and Jane Foster, representing characters thought dead, similar to Doom's deception.
Hope that Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda is in self-imposed exile in the Void, not corrupted, and that the Champions find her.
Hope that the left witch is Famke Janssen's Dark Phoenix, with Doom unlocking her powers.
Idea that each witch is from one of the three worlds: X-Men Earth, Fantastic Four Earth, and MCU Earth.
Leaked image shows a character with a third eye, likely Doctor Strange, possibly corrupted by the Darkhold.
Preference that the masked character is our Doctor Strange, genuinely believing he's doing the right thing, not a variant.
Rumor that Sasheer Zamata's Jennifer Kale will appear in 'Ghost Rider', possibly as one of the witches.
Secret Wars will follow the 2015 comic: Doom rules Battleworld, heroes don't remember the past, and there's a resistance group of Avengers.
Fans clamor for Nova; discussion of introducing new characters like Miles Morales, but concern about overcrowding.
Leaker 'My Time to Shine Hello' says Dafne Keen will return as Laura in the MCU's X-Men film, not just Secret Wars.
Colton argues X-23 is the perfect age, solves the problem of replacing Hugh Jackman, and can be a bridge to a new Wolverine.
Alex agrees: X-23 is an elegant solution, as she's already loved and can graduate to Wolverine like in the comics.
Ryan warns against tying X-23 to past continuity, comparing it to the issue of recasting iconic roles like Dr. Octopus.
Preference that X-23 is from a different timeline, not a clone of the new Wolverine, to avoid continuity issues.
Suggestion to have a 10-year gap between Hugh Jackman and the next Wolverine, with X-23 filling in.
Alex pitches X-23 appearing in a bar scene in the new X-Men movie, helping the young team without being a main character.
Idea of characters like Gambit (Channing Tatum) being scattered in 616, lost and without a country.
Concern that Disney might avoid a female Wolverine due to target demographics, despite fan love for X-23.
Counterpoint: Everyone loves Dafne Keen's X-23, so it's a safe bet for Marvel.
Idea that X-23 has a scrambled mind, trying to figure out who she is, possibly visiting the facility where Wolverine was created.
Hope that Professor X tries to help X-23 restore her memories, with a line about her not being supposed to exist.
Suggestion to make a solo X-23 movie titled 'Laura'.
Super chat question about Earth 1218 (our reality) and whether Doomsday's release date (12/18) is a hint.
Super chat theory that Doom could manipulate Wanda by pointing out Steve Rogers got a happy ending, but she can't.
Hosts agree they don't want Wanda manipulated; they want her to own her actions.
Love the idea of Wanda as a hermit in the Void, with the Young Avengers finding her.
Super chat question about Alan Ritchson (Jack Reacher) as Venom; hosts discuss his fit for DC or Marvel.
Super chat suggests Miles Teller as The Maker (evil Reed Richards) in Secret Wars; hosts love the idea.
Discussion on Henry Cavill as Wolverine; concerns about age and being typecast from Superman.
Super chat suggests Daniel Radcliffe; hosts joke about it.
The hosts are excited about the potential of X-23 as Wolverine, seeing it as a smart way to transition from Hugh Jackman while honoring the character's legacy. They also speculate on the mystery characters in Secret Wars, hoping for meaningful reveals that tie into the larger multiverse narrative.

41:43[00:08] pretty excited to talk about the future of the MCU. Specifically, we are going to be talking about leaked images of apparently people who are working for leaks, but these seem legit and not like AI generated slop. And a couple other
[00:24] Apparently, according to Alex Perez, there are three count three mystery characters. in Avengers: Secret Wars, new characters who we haven't seen they might be, and we're gonna talk about the fact that he's also saying
[00:38] apparently the devil himself, Mr. Sasha Baron Cohen's Mesto, is going to appear in Ghost Rider. And the rumor, and I don't know if this is true or not, but whether or not you think it's a good idea, that Daphne Keane's X-23 is going
[00:52] to be the Wolverine for the MCU. All are open and they are appreciated but not required. Thank you guys for your support and let's get started with our usual panel of experts. First of all,
[01:06] break, Mr. Tommy Beck told. What's up, Tommy?
[01:22] great. Is that Deborah you're talking to or is there somebody else >> in Costa Rica right now trying to track Janet down. I was just negotiating with a group that refers to themselves as Los Banditos.
[01:34] Uh I don't know. I'm trying to figure out if she's down here for pleasure or for work or what's going on. >> I think Los Banditos might have been the group that Dom Terrarero is running with and Fast and the Furious four or five.
[01:47] >> that explains all the all the DVD players. Okay, got it. Okay. roll with that. I think that's what's going on. If you find Dom, then you'll >> Okay. >> And uh speaking of always trying to find
[02:03] who's always on hold from the Comic Book Club podcast, Mr. Alex Albin. What's up, >> Hey, Ryan. This is actually really annoying. I had ordered or I thought I ordered this amazing [ __ ] suit, but somebody else bought it. They have my
[02:17] [ __ ] suit, and I don't know what's going on with it. So, I'm just like, I'm on hold with the store. Uh and hopefully Hopefully I find out. all the time. My luggage always gets uh switched around with other people at the
[02:30] airport and I've had [ __ ] suits that end up on continents and come back smelling like who knows what. And finally, uh we've got the guy who's trapped in our TV but doesn't know us. So, please don't tell him. Hi, Colton Agburn. What's
[02:42] going on, man? >> Hi. I I have no funny commentary. I I'm [laughter] >> You are just generally funny. General got a lot to talk about. >> I love that. I love that, Tommy. You You
[02:55] brought your whole room with you on this this journey to Where'd you say Costa shelves, everything. Wow. >> I did. I I brought my beloved Buffalo [laughter] >> Wow.
[03:09] >> Well, when you're soothing, you have to do so in the comfort of your own things. >> So, there's that. I Many a Batman movie. Why do you think he has like uh yachts foreign missions? >> That's right.
[03:23] even sure if we're allowed to show this or if we're going to get demonetized. podcast. By the way, we're available on all podcast platforms. Follow us on Screen Crush Rewind. Thank you. So, um we had some leaked images. Now, at SDC,
[03:39] San Diego Comic- Con, they did show off three different Latin witches and they we've got a better link look at them right here. These are the Latvian witches. Um, I'm colorb blind. So, who would like to narrate for us what the
[03:54] color on the left appears to be to you? >> Sure. Right. I'll go ahead. That's neon pink. >> I hate you. I'm not that color blind. >> Well, no, it's not red. It's >> It looks bronzish or brown.
[04:10] >> It's like a It's like a burnt orange kind of. Yeah, for not getting that. You guys can't place it either. Go ahead, Alex. >> No, it's also the image here is much darker. I mean, I was not at San Diego
[04:22] Comic- Con, but all the images of it at San Diego Comic- Con were a little like an orange and a yellow kind of took the photo. So, >> this just looks a little dark to me. I
[04:35] would say orange personally, but >> the middle definitely green and the >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, this matches what we've I'll go, "Yeah, this is real." Um, what
[04:48] talked about before, but you know, what do you guys think about why there's three mysterious individuals? Are they Doombots? Are they Doom's black order? Um, what do you think we're looking at? >> It looks like a Destiny's Child type
[05:05] they're standing. >> Fan of Destiny's Child, so he gathered >> Yeah. Middle one's Beyonce. >> Total sense. Yeah. Ah, yes. >> Uh, people in the comments letting us know that we're idiots. [laughter]
[05:24] umber. We've got definitely a copper penny color. [laughter] We've got different people chiming in on this. >> Sorry. Go ahead. I think it was Colt was >> Are we talking about who we think might be under the
[05:37] much know who we think they are, but go ahead. >> Do you Okay. Well, do you guys think there's any possibility that it's not that and that they just genuinely are like Latvian witches? Because yeah, it
[05:50] it's fun to think maybe Clea's under there, maybe Wanda's under there, maybe the the ancient one or uh Sylvie. Lots of cool characters that you could have under there. Um you could have I always pronounce her name wrong. Is it Funky?
[06:04] Funky Jenka. >> Oh yeah, she could. Yeah, she could be >> Yeah, maybe she's in there. But there's also the possibility, it says Latverian witches, which kind of maybe makes me think that they're just
[06:18] >> Latvian witches that have been around perhaps even longer than Dr. Doom. And I I've heard the theory that maybe his attire is based on their attire that
[06:31] whatever. >> Yeah. So, it is fun to speculate and I do want to do that on who maybe be under there, but I do think it's possible that there, but I do think it's possible that they're just new characters and fodder
[06:45] heroes. [snorts] >> The most famous Latian witch was Doom's lot of sense. I hadn't heard this theory yet that he would base his attire off of his mom who taught him how to do magic, which again, it does create a parallel
[07:00] with Loki who learned magic from his mom. And I like the idea that a sil that in the middle. Um my >> and Doom might have and Doom might have been raised by witches boy to quote uh Thor and Loki's mother. Yeah.
[07:14] >> Very good. Yeah. Oh, that's right. Yes. I was raised by witches boy. >> Um I was confused for a second because I saw that as like witches boi. I was like thing the kids are talking about? >> Witches child. Destiny's Child comes
[07:29] >> Witch Summer. >> No way. >> Can I throw out that? >> Can I throw out something that's going >> Can I throw out something that's going to be dismissed immediately?
[07:41] ahead. >> Here's here's who I here's who I think >> All right. >> Gamora, Black Widow, and Jane Foster. represent three characters that are very
[07:54] important that are thought dead, much like Dr. Doom, who looks just like Tony theme of mind efferie. I don't think that's who it really is, but I think it's going to be three people uh assuming the form of those three dead
[08:07] Although Star-Lord's not in this movie, so maybe that just immediately >> uh diminishes. >> But those three people were also sacrificed in one way or another. You know, Jane Foster, Thor, could have used
[08:21] the power to save her at the end, but instead he he could have like lied to your daughter back." Uh, but had he Well, no, I guess not because actually Jane wasn't sacrificed, but she did. >> Which one's Gamora?
[08:35] >> The green one. [snorts] >> Okay. I mean, one you want her to be. >> Why is Gamora? Yeah. >> Yeah. Well, so two two different thoughts about that. One, if it is those characters or literally any characters,
[08:48] I would assume they're from Doom's dimension, so any of the continuity that >> Um, >> if they were Liberian witches. Yeah. >> Yeah. Exactly. So, they might be those actors playing those characters. Or to
[09:02] playing Tony Stark, but playing Victor von Doom, maybe they have entirely faces, which sounds insanely confusing to me, but we're already past the Rubicott on that. So, who knows? The I kind of agree with Colton though that
[09:16] >> just like the Black Order was like here comes the Black Order and they're kind of nothing in the movies. They're just there to sort of kill time until we get to Thanos. It sort of feels the same way to me, but conversely,
[09:30] like I said this here on the show before, but it's such a wasted opportunity if you're the sum total of your imagination about the multiverse is. What if we had an X-Men Earth uh Fantastic 4 Earth than an MCU Earth,
[09:45] infinite multiverse and coming up with like >> here's an alternate version of Agatha, here's an alternate version of Sylvie, or maybe these are characters we know who have traveled the multiverse or
[09:57] who have traveled the multiverse or anything like it's just it's a wasted opportunity to not have that in the movie in some way. I thought prior to Infinity War, like just before the first trailer, I because
[10:09] I don't think I'd read the initially the comic the Black Order appears in. I thought that Thanos would use the Infinity Gauntlet to bring back the villains from past movies, you know? I because I was just going off the the
[10:21] in the comics. So, I thought, "Oh, cool. He'll bring back Iron Monger and Red Skull and maybe we'll get like a Masters of Evil kind of thing." I think if they did this, if they had these characters wearing a mask and they're just some
[10:34] lady from Latvia, it's going to disappoint people. I will say though that like as soon as we see the powers of these people, the energy manifest, I will, but I'll be in the audience going that's gonna be Wanda. That's
[10:49] >> But I don't think it's Wanda. Go ahead. >> Yeah. Would I don't know that one doing this that seems very Wanda. >> Yeah, I agree. like feeling herself, you know, feeling the Scarlet Witch. Like I I don't know. There's something about
[11:02] >> screams Elizabeth Olsen. >> Here's why I hope it's not. Um I do think I I do think Elizabeth Olsen will be in Secret Wars. I think she's in the void already. I think she's probably either a
[11:16] hermit, like she said, "I am destructive. I can't be near anyone." Or she's lost her memory. I would prefer it if she is self-imposed exile. I think that would make the most sense if like maybe she can't kill herself because the
[11:29] power of Cathone won't let her. And as we theorized, Colton, you know, you did the champions coming together initially in Secret Wars and looking for her and giving ultimately being about Wanda
[11:42] love that idea. You just said who I hope it is, though. I hope the person on the it is, though. I hope the person on the left is Fky Jensen's Dark Phoenix. If Fky Jensen would have been in this movie from the start, right? Like if she would
[11:55] have been Hi, Maxi. There's Max. That's a good boy. If she would have been then automatically it does two things. It overshadows Sades thinks Jean Gray and it makes us think, well, [ __ ] when she be going to become the Dark Phoenix,
[12:09] like Jean Gray in a movie these days. It's just like a countdown to when her power unfolds. I love the idea of because in her timeline, she was fine. Like the last time Logan saw her, if we're saying the Logan timeline is a
[12:23] different timeline, so she had yet to turn into Phoenix and unlock in this powers were like locked in her brain. I love the idea that Doom unlocked it and What do you guys think? >> I love that.
[12:35] >> I like the idea, which I hadn't really thought about before, that maybe each of the Ladvari witches are from one of the three worlds that we're dealing with here. So if we have FA Jansen from the X-Men Earth, we have somebody from the
[12:47] Fantastic Four Earth, though there's not a lot of people there. a lot of people there. >> Natasha Leon. [laughter] the last one is from the MCU Earth, whoever that is. I mean, that that could
[13:03] >> I that joke worked on a lot of levels. Well done. The characters around. Yeah. No, no. Just sometimes you laugh and sometimes you think and appreciate [laughter] it. >> Yeah. Yeah. Good job. Yeah, I like that.
[13:18] >> Oh my god. The 10 is back. >> Um, sorry. >> Going back to what we were saying earlier about the Okay, watcher. Yeah, I [laughter] go ahead. >> I thought that's what you were doing.
[13:33] >> Going back to what we were saying earlier with the idea of like them being variant versions of certain characters. I I don't know. I think I got burned on that a little bit with Multiverse of Madness because of just how poorly they
[13:46] handled it. Like they were just there to be there like, "Hey, look, it's it's be there like, "Hey, look, it's it's them, but it's not them." Haha. I don't know. It I I kind of personally prefer if and are we going to talk about the
[13:59] the other one in the mask as well? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. that character when we get there as well as these other characters, the witches. I would kind like if it is Wanda, I want it to be our Wanda and I I don't want it or at least
[14:12] the 838 Wanda that we met who also kind of got set on a path of perhaps, you know, being like, "Oh my god, this multiverse thing is dangerous. Look what them to be like brand new characters. If it's Clea, I I want it to just be Clea.
[14:27] Not not that we've really spent any time with Clea really, but I wanted to be the one that came and recruited Doctor Strange. I want her to have like been characters that we've kind of already followed. So, like it it has that impact
[14:41] when they take the mask off if they go that route. So, that's kind of what I'm I'll I'll save the rest of that for when we get to the the next. I don't want to show this for very long. This one is definitely a big leak. So,
[14:56] this is another one where golly, look at that guy. It's either bullseye or that's that guy. It's either bullseye or that's a hole for Doctor Strange's third eye. THAT WAS TAKEN. >> THIS IS SO ANNOYING.
[15:09] >> Man, >> you really did a good job setting that >> I'm gonna have to totally rethink Halloween now. I guess >> what's the for Halloween? Mine, too. >> Yeah. No, my whole family were going as
[15:21] >> Oh, >> there you go. Right. Okay. I went as the briefcase last year. Um, actually, no, not in this. I do have a a bad MF wallet, too. Okay. It's a mighty big coincidence that here's a guy that we
[15:35] to be in the movie. At one point, misspoke, said he was in it. Oh, no, I'm not in it. Like, it's hard to keep track. Um, that movie he develops the third eye because he tapped into the dark hole. Now, I personally really hate
[15:49] the mid-credit scene where he casually opens the third eye and goes off with opens the third eye and goes off with Clea, but I do think that like to your if they just make them random people, I think
[16:02] is a great way to incorporate Loki and whoever else. >> What do you guys think? Are we wrong possibly be? >> No, it and it has Okay, maybe it's
[16:15] Bullseye. No, it has to be our strange. Like if it's a variant Strange, I I am going to be upset if it's just like some other random str We've seen so many variants of Doctor Strange even in just Multiverse of Madness and then you have
[16:29] I don't want him to have been like corrupted by Doom or you know he's possessed by the dark. No, I want him to just genuinely think that he's doing the right thing. Same thing with Wanda. I I I know in the comics she like loses her
[16:42] memory and all that. I I don't want that. We've already done the, you know, her having the heel turn, face turn, whatever. Oh, I I was corrupted by this. Oh, what? No, I just want her to gen I I want all the people, including Doom, to
[16:56] genuinely like believe in their cause, believe in their mission, think they're hoping. >> Sy's the only one where I'm like, I don't know why Sylvie would do that. That's pretty antithetical to what she
[17:08] >> I think because Doom may approach her and say, hey, you bought us time. Loki bought us time, but this thing is still on a a path to absolute destruction.
[17:20] Here's your opportunity to one, you can see Loki again. And two, I I can I see a don't know. >> And not mentioning he probably killed Loki, but also uh she watched a reality crumble around her once before. And
[17:34] suffered more trauma because what drove her in season one of Loki was suffering destroyed. Sorry, Tommy. Go ahead. No, I was just going to say I like I mean I the people through the first threequarters of this movie are going to
[17:49] Right. Doom will always think he's in the right, but the people following him might eventually be like, "Oh, what he thinks is right isn't necessarily what we think is right." So I I could imagine people Oh, the watcher and Watu will
[18:02] always watch. But I think uh because he's a pervert like that. He's nasty. >> yeah, we keep a chair in the bedroom called Diwatu. I Yes, it's a special chair in every hotel room for the watch you to just watch. But, uh, it gets
[18:16] distracting on my honeymoon. It was a real nightmare. I think >> the, uh, what was I? I lost my train of thought. Oh, yeah. I want these people to be heroes that we know that think that they're helping this man who's the
[18:29] ultimately realize it's Doctor D. All he really wants is to control and dominate everyone. So that's my my hope is our Doctor Strange and our Sylvie and all Wanda and that they eventually have to
[18:42] >> Doctor Strange has turned villain in pretty much every universe that we've whole point of Multiverse of Madness, that his need for control and not being ruins reality. >> And I think here's one that the I don't
[18:57] think we talked about this, the yellow orange whatever witch. think, oh, maybe not because it's a little bit more like flamboyant. But the ancient one, >> I could totally see Tilda Swinton coming
[19:12] back in. I mean, she was involved. She's in ingame. be an in-game encore that's, you know, setting up Doomsday. They're going to deleted scenes. She's a She's been the Sorcerer Supreme. Doctor Strange is
[19:27] probably the Sorcerer Supreme in their universe. Uh, I'm sorry, Dr. Doom is probably the sorcerer supreme in their universe and then now he's got Strange could be there as well. [snorts] >> Uh I'll throw two things out there. One,
[19:41] from the comics in the Secret Wars comic, Dr. Strange is Dr. Doo's lieutenant to odd battle world. >> So this strange, right? correctly, I don't know if they unlock his memories. I think he knows, if I
[19:55] remember correctly, it's revealed towards the end that like he knows "No, we got to this is the only way of saving the multiverse and eventually they do turn him against Doom." He's not exactly on Doom's side, but he is on the
[20:09] multiverse they have left. So, I can see that. The other very boring reason I think this is characters we know just as we're talking about it is a production reason which is you have masked characters throughout there so that
[20:24] Benedict Cumberbatch and Tilda Swinton and everybody else don't have to be on set the entire time. You could bring them in either digitally or for one quick insert scene right at the end and that's pretty much it.
[20:36] There's a rumor now that Jennifer Kale, played by Sasher Zameda, is going to be in Ghost Rider. And I wonder, you know, she's the only witch that survived from the coven and Agatha along. I wonder if she could be one of these people, too.
[20:50] >> I don't do you have any out-of- box predictions? I guess. predictions? I guess. >> Uh, no. Only inbox predictions because I >> minted box >> Well, yeah. I mean like if they unmask
[21:02] you want the whole audience to be like oh man it's that person who I instantly recognize versus nothing who's awesome like I love the character. along which did well but wasn't even necessarily the level of like Loki where
[21:17] people would potentially be like oh that person oh right that's Sylvia I kind of remember that. So, I do think it needs to be those top tier characters if there is a reveal because doing something >> some deep cut character is just not
[21:31] is a reveal moment. >> And and I think you're you're right on it there because that's that's what they showed when they announced Downey is as Doom. They they had him take the stage which with a bunch of other masked
[21:44] cloaked people >> pulls the mask off. I I think they they end. I think that's still how the movie's going to end. Us getting >> reveals the Russos were laying clues and telling stories. They're definitely
[21:59] setting up these witches, I think, to be one of those big potato problems. Which reminds me, we have a brand new on our merch store right now, the big potato himself, Dr. Doom, uh, from what Elena Bova was saying about
[22:11] Bova was saying about >> Dr. Potato. Dr. Big Potato Potato. favorites like Delmare's Deli, fresh and delicious. I've got mine on the way because it's an Easter egg. If you get it, you get it. Classics like the Dougle
[22:25] going to be taking a lot of our X-Men stuff down soon. So, if you have not gotten your Xavier School for Gifted Youngstster shirt, the ESU shirt is that we put on that, so it looks a little tattered. And of course, old
[22:39] remember it. And I hate how it always cuts back to me before we do this. It's so awkward. And here's the Frasier Beast. Another one designed by Colton. we've got a mer our merch links are down below. And if you're a store member, you
[22:53] get 15% discount and orders over $100, get free shipping. So go with your friends today. >> So next, Alex Perez is one of those rumor leaker guys. I don't know what his connection
[23:06] is to stuff, but my goodness is he usually correct. So, he does this monthly Q&A. And this month he was talking about Avengers: Secret Wars, which will presumably follow the plot of the 2015 Secret Wars, where Dr. Doom has
[23:20] won. He rules Battle World, probably the void, and none of the heroes remember the life before. They only know God, Emperor Doom. Uh, but Alex Perez seems resistance group of Avengers. Just like in the comics, there is the leaders, the
[23:36] newbies, the younger heroes. And this is where I think the champions might come into it. And there's also, he says, never before seen characters. group of allies is going to be divided
[23:50] stories. Basically, I hate to say this, exact template of Infinity War and Endgame. But there's nothing wrong with that because those movies copy the template set by comic books. So, the
[24:03] question I have for you guys is who could these three never before seen in the movies presumably characters be? Are we going to get uh Rick Jones? >> I mean, it's like when people copy our Easter eggs, it it turns out well. Uh so
[24:18] I I see no issue with them like duplicating uh the the plan or the interview where they were asked about this? how um
[24:30] >> Doomsday and Secret Wars are connecting and like they they're talking about how oh it's a new beginning but yes we're also looking at that how it's a next step and the the connection between it all and like how Doomsday is like lead
[24:44] straight into it. So I I do think that Doomsday as well is going to be adopting 2015 Secret Wars as well as well as the >> I mean look if the movie ends with Dr. Doom defeated then what the hell happens in Secret Wars? Like it's it's one of
[24:57] >> I think a lot of audiences who don't know the comics were genuinely surprised by Infinity War. But I mean Alex, you know what it was like. We're there the >> Oh yeah.
[25:10] snap. >> Oh, that was you. >> I thought it was the Jazz club next door and I was like, man, that guy's [laughter] really loving the jazz over there. Keeps talking about snapping.
[25:23] uh super chats to get to here in a second, too. But like, you know, and let us know in the chat who you think these mystery characters could be. Who do you >> Well, who have they been calling for? They've been clamoring for Nova, right?
[25:36] there? >> Sure. I know Nova's got such a great first scene for I guess it'll be a movie now of showing Thanos destroying Xandar and like this one thing survived. Like that to me is I really don't want to
[25:49] >> I'm just trying to figure out who's left that could be like who would who would be meaningful to >> Exactly. There's like Alpha Flight. I Flight necessarily in Secret. >> Um what about Ryan Gosling's Ghost
[26:05] movie is not going to be an origin story. second, but I don't know. I just fear introducing too many new
[26:20] characters in a movie that is already going to be very very very crowded. >> I don't know if I don't know if that's a good idea or not. sense. >> Yeah. And Tom Holland, didn't he say
[26:35] that thing where he's like, I know when Miles is going to show up. I don't think >> said there's a plan for it. Yeah. >> Yeah. So, I don't know. I mean, he plays an important part of the Secret Wars comics, so it certainly could
[26:48] particularly if you have different fragments of the multiverse coming together, that is one way of introducing him. It's a weird way of introducing >> I would imagine they want to wrap up the Spider-Verse movies first, but then
[27:01] to be wrapped up >> by now, so that might factor into it as well. Could three characters that we haven't seen before mean simply like the MCU X-Men? Like we have Cyclops cast, we have Emma Frost cast,
[27:16] >> they could be in there. >> Magneto, Xavier, and someone else or >> Find out in like two days, too. >> Well, at the end there, Tabby. [laughter] >> Variety said a while ago that Sink would
[27:30] >> in Secret Wars. Yeah. >> Yeah. Um, I don't know. I go right back about them putting the new X-Men in it too much. I I kind of liked the idea of
[27:43] the last time, you know, we saw Gene was in Brand New Day. I liked the idea of just picking back up with that >> in the X-Men movie, which is after Secret Wars, after the universe reboots and all that, and kind of not really
[27:56] acknowledging the the Secret War that that just happened. Yeah, >> that's true. Can I ask you guys this and let me pivot then. Is there >> are there characters that are existing
[28:09] that just your personal ones you hope show like Rocket Raccoon for example? to see? Because it's got to be somebody they don't have to overexlain. So that
[28:21] >> If you're looking for an Eternals followup. Wait, who's that? Okay, so get this his brother, right? But he's not really his brother. It's like it's a the past would you like to >> You're Yeah, that's such a good point
[28:34] because I'm like where's they did such a great job introducing Aubrey Plaza as to? >> She I mean she might actually be famous enough to bring back into Secret Wars. >> I mean
[28:51] death. >> Can I sign of death? [laughter] >> Um my answer would be Adam Warlock. I love that character. I thought that he know if that's the right movie to introduce him, but I really I love Will
[29:03] Poulter. I think he'd be somebody I'd love to see continue. Secret Wars might be too crowded for him, though. >> Maybe Mahersula Blade. >> I mean, yeah, but the way he's talking, [laughter]
[29:16] >> I think that just be a typical Feige swerve if he's like, "Mha, go trash us >> Do you think there's going to be a moment in T23 where Mhersa comes on stage and hands back the hat to Fei? [laughter]
[29:30] >> I would kind of also like to see um Don Cheetel, but then again that has so many like where there's so many questions associated with that character now. >> Do you remember endgame? >> Yeah, I'm really struggling to think of
[29:46] ahead. >> Better Bill, he's part of the Thor core. I like that. >> Love to see that. I think that would I'm trying to think of like a big three like oh like these major characters they're
[30:02] something more in the vein of like a a Corg or something. So you could do a character like that. I >> it it could be again if they are aping the comic directly. You have tons of different variants of various characters
[30:19] hanging out on battle world. You have a whole Thor core. You have tons of hulks. you have zombie versions of people. >> So, it could just be that. It could be >> it could be Hydra Cap and maybe there's another actor who's playing Hydra Cap or
[30:32] >> I do hope they have fun with that. I I want the um cantina scene kind of battle. >> Oh, man. You know, we're going to be >> scrolling. It's really It's really [clears throat] on the nose, but they
[30:47] should just get Anthony Star to be hydra. That would be great. Just hydrocap. >> No, that would be absolutely perfect. let's let's move on. Right, past the three characters thing, we've also got
[31:02] um My Time to Shine Hello, who I'll be honest is an annoying leaker. I don't know if My Time to Shine Hello is does get real information because it seems like every other tweet is oh my god in capital letters with you trying to think
[31:15] that they know something that who knows if they do. I've seen them maybe accurate on a couple of things like A Broken Clock, but they said that Daphne Keane will return as her version of Laura in the MCU's X-Men film.
[31:28] >> Okay, not in, you know, maybe in Secret Wars. Not what they said. They said in the X-Men film. So, will she be Wolverine moving forward? Will the X23 should note that the X-Men film is going to take place after Secret Wars and
[31:41] Alex, you can correct me here. I think Miles Morales was the only multiverse news. >> Yeah, it was Miles and the Maker. The evil Reed Richards also ended up there.
[31:55] >> an amazing character who I really >> if the Multiverse Saga didn't produce the Maker, I'd be really disappointed if if actually that's my pick. I'd love to see evil I'd like to see Miles Teller in this movie as the maker just so he can
[32:07] >> Uh because he would kill that role. Okay, so Deadpool will be the other character. >> Okay, Colton, you're the one who wanted to talk about this. >> Yes, I I want Daphne King. Yeah, she's
[32:21] awesome. Uh I see no reason not to do it. She's she's the perfect age like uh it. She's she's the perfect age like uh with Sadi Sink and the the Age of the X-Men they're introducing. I think Marvel still has an interest in doing a
[32:34] few more things maybe with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, but separate from the uh like mainline X-Men like maybe in a Deadpool thing or an X-Force thing. I think you port Daffhne Keane's X23 Laura into the new X-Men. And the X-Men have
[32:50] had members of their team like this before like a like a bishop who who knows about, you know, different timelines and comes from other Yeah. I I don't think it's this massively like too convoluted confusing thing. Just be like
[33:06] they could just mention it in passing like almost as a joke. Yeah, I'm from a I think it would work. I I think she would be a great fillin for Wolverine for a few years and then you can
[33:19] introduce like the proper MCU proper Wolverine at some point. Alex. Sorry. No, >> I was about to agree with that. I think it's a really elegant solution for a big problem, which is how do you replace
[33:34] Hugh Jackman? And even if you find the perfect actor to play Wolverine, to replace Hugh Jackman, every story and every single thing is going to be comparing him to Hugh Jackman versus you have Daffhne Keane, who everybody
[33:47] graduating to Wolverine, just like she does in the comics. Put her in the We'll probably see it in Secret Wars, but definitely do that for the movie. And then you also get somebody I don't know her actual age, but like somebody
[34:02] who like you're saying is a little older or pitched a little older than the X-Men who seem to be being pitched as teens who was a little worldw weary but maybe is not quite as old as say Emma Frost or other potential villains of the movie.
[34:16] Um I think it's great. It's a great idea and they should 100% go for it. >> And she's so badass. Like I I think that we didn't get to see just how badass she could be in uh Deadpool and Wolverine. Like there are some really cool moves
[34:29] claws and all that. >> And you could really have her be like really have her be >> Wolverine essentially like have the the scrambled mind can't quite remember her
[34:42] And that ties into the multiverse. works. Tell me what you think >> because it doesn't exist in anymore. So yeah, >> uh I I pretty much agree with Colton. I
[34:54] do want to just be uh out of respect to the account, I want to pronounce their name correctly. It's my time to shine. Hello. That's how you say the account when you read it. But uh yeah, no, I think um
[35:07] of having her brain be scrambled and kind of have a similar Logan origin, I do with that character. I think it solves the problem of having like an than Hugh Jackman that people aren't going to be like this replacement is
[35:21] completely different character obviously, literally. So, yeah, I I like >> And imagine Dr. Octtop. Okay, go ahead. >> No, I'm sorry. I'm not. You should talk. >> Yeah. Imagine she's the one that like
[35:35] goes on that um mission at some point that we saw Wolverine go on and I think it's X2 when he goes to the lab where he was created and all that. What if we see >> she could be the one that finds the new Wolverine and like it's this variant. I
[35:51] variant and all that of her father but you don't have the new Wolverine I think be her dad. You kind of have them have like a bickering brother sister type relationship. I think it's a both just the worst idea. Oh my god. You just keep
[36:05] hitting me with things I hate on this idea. I'm sorry but no wrong. >> No. I'm so sorry. Okay, look, it's the Dr. Octopus problem where we can't introduce Dr. Octopus unless
[36:19] played by Alfred Molina. So, we can never have Dr. Octopus or Green Goblin did the nostalgia ship pulling them from something else. This is why I keep saying, please retire Hugh Jackman after Secret Wars so we can get new Wolverine
[36:34] stories and aren't tied to past continuity. The only way X23 works, and I love this idea, is if she's lost her memory. And this reminds me of when the DC universe did this reset after Crisis on Infinite Earths. They killed off
[36:47] Supergirl, but Supergirl's Earth 2 counterpart, Power Girl, was still around. So, they had to like reinvent a new origin for her where she didn't remember her past and they like pieced it together. That makes sense. I love
[36:59] But, I think if she's a clone to Wolverine, Wolverine needs to have been around since like World War II. That's where you lost me. I don't want this brother. They're the same crap. >> Um, and the other problem is if she
[37:13] the X-Men, the whole point it seems like of this X-Men team is that they are teenagers. They're on the run. They're hunted by people and she would just be like, "Oh, I've done this before. This is like, yeah, this is an entirely
[37:27] whereas I think if everyone on the team is facing this for the first time, then the first time because we're in their shoes." You introduce one person who already knows what's up and it just destroys dramatic tension.
[37:40] destroys dramatic tension. >> Do you want her to be a clone of whoever the new Wolverine is? Like completely right. >> Okay. >> I want her to be from a different
[37:52] timeline or universe or something. Yeah, >> I think after this, no more timelines, remember their old timeline, but they've their origin is tied to this universe. how they worked it out with the
[38:04] Fantastic Four. Good luck, Kevin Feige. You figured that out. >> No, it's fine. I was going to make a stupid joke about what if they reversed it and made a large mail clone of Daffhne Ke's Wolf.
[38:17] what I was going to say. >> All right, let's do it. Yeah, >> I'll say let's do it. the four >> in the comics. They've practically created the Wolverine family now, like which is, you know, back in the day it
[38:29] Batman did that, but you got like Daka and you got X23. Who's the other one? The little the little girl >> that no one cares about that was uh >> Got it. >> Greta Thberg.
[38:42] >> Sure. Greta Thberg, whoever it is. Um I don't remember. Anyways, there's like so Mhm. >> Let me really piss you off, Ryan, because I kind of agree that if you bring in uh MCU proper Wolverine
[38:54] alongside a Daphne King, it does kind of shine a light on what we're trying to brush under the rug, which is h just just let it happen. Just, you know, it it shines a light on that. I would be totally fine with them having a 10-year
[39:10] gap between the last time Hugh Jackman plays Wolverine and when they introduce the new Wolverine. And in that 10-year gap, let it be Daphne Keane because >> holy hell, who whoever they get to play the next Wolverine is gonna have an
[39:24] uphill battle of being accepted as the character. He's constantly going to be compared to Jackman's Wolverine. I think it's I I think it's a disservice to the actor that gets the role to have to play the character right after we see him
[39:38] Jackman's going to be in Secret Wars. Let me let me make a let me make an actual pitch to you guys about this just to kind of back up what Colton is saying. I don't think you have to have her in the whole new X-Men movie
[39:51] necessarily so much as like you introduce the new X-Men. If they are on the run, they're on the run. They're being chased by William Mezer or whoever, Sentinels, etc. And at one point they go to hide out in a bar. They
[40:05] get into the bar. They get into some sort of scrape. You see somebody in the back by the bar stand up. you see claws pop out and you're like, "Oh crap, it's Wolverine." And then it turns around and it's Daffany Keane and she's there in
[40:17] like the third act of the movie to kind of help them over that hump, offer of the continuity. You don't have to talk about any alternate universes or >> And then that's potentially left for a second movie or a spin-off movie or
[40:30] >> I I kind of like this idea that just came to my head that I'm particularly >> [laughter] >> after Secret Wars. I like the idea of there being some like nomadic >> remnants of the void scattered
[40:45] throughout 616 like have like potentially Gambit Channing Tatum Gambit maybe like just people that are like >> people without a country they're just lost amongst this new world and like I think that like kind of
[40:59] >> right and I picture Al Alex's pitch of like Daffany Keen in the bar like she's just doesn't know what to do so she's just hanging out and waiting and then all of a sudden she sees something quasi familiar to her in the X-Men. Like not
[41:12] going to immediately know who they all are, but like she can at least kind of some like-minded individuals willing to get into the mix with me here. So, I think uh yeah, I I I don't know. I like the idea of there being like that's the
[41:27] tie to the old Marvel films is like we just have a couple of these castoffs or castaways that are stuck in in 616. What if she's in a >> What if she's in a boxing ring in the bar? That'd be fun. Have her just like
[41:43] >> Let me be a little cynical about something real quick. Um, a lot of what we saw in the Multiverse Saga was this legacy passing of the torch. And not just in the Multiverse Saga, but like Star Wars did the same thing where women
[41:55] characters were finally given the chance to kind of headline these movies. And we saw it, you know, to a certain extent with Iron Hart, with Thor. Um, and I wonder if Disney being the cold, evil, calculating corporation that it is, um,
[42:12] would look at this prospect and go, "No, we want like Wolverine's like our Batman. We want Batman. We don't want female Wolverine, young female Wolverine. We've proven that that doesn't pull in new target demos like we
[42:25] demo that they want, which is classic Wolverine. And maybe maybe they would Jackman coming back as long as he wants regardless." >> I think here's what's different. >> Everybody loves Daffhne Key and his X23.
[42:39] Everyone fell in love with her and Logan and then again in Deadpool and Wolverine. If you're worried about needing to appease the the macho whatever side of the the comic book fan or fandom, you know how how they, you
[42:53] Wolverine or whatever." >> Me, the macho guys like me, right? >> Come on. Yeah, but Daffany Keane, she's gorgeous. I I'm I'm fine with that for a >> Yeah. >> I I think they'll find a way to be
[43:07] horrible trolls about it still, for sure, because they're always going to find their way to come around to that. But exactly what Colton is saying, I majority of the fans, >> it's a again a very good solution
[43:20] because they already like her and like we said earlier, you can still bring back Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. It's a different universe. You have >> dead him hanging out with Deadpool or alternately he's having this adventures
[43:32] think people will roll with it and be absolutely fine. >> So they can do both. And I think the one piece of the multiverse and timelines and all of that that they are perhaps maybe going to keep in play and like the
[43:46] TVA and all that is maybe with Deadpool like cuz Deadpool's this fourth wall breaking character. That could be the one corner of the MCU that still has fun >> You know, the mutant saga is not just going to be this is according to Alex
[43:59] going to be X-Men movies. They're going to do Deadpool and Wolverine and stuff like like Deadpool period and Wolverine. I wonder if X-23 as this person without a universe with a muddled memory. N Colton, you said earlier and I love this
[44:12] idea that she goes back to that facility where maybe Wolverine was created or of her going there and it's totally empty and she's trying to figure out just trying to figure out >> who in the actual hell am I and I don't
[44:26] even think she needs to be in the X-Men thing. Let them do their we are the kids join them later. >> Yeah. But I also think with her, the moment she meets Wolverine, it either solves the problem or creates more
[44:39] problems. But it's hard to imagine her meeting Wolverine and him rejecting her and it not just being like a a kind of a hollow echo of Logan, the movie Logan. So I hope that's not the case. >> I do too. And I really like the idea of
[44:53] Xavier trying to help her restore her memories and like >> he's even struggling running into a wall like have some kind of line that talks about how she's not even supposed to be there. She's not even supposed to exist
[45:08] for why she really feels like this outsider. >> Do a movie and just call it Laura. >> Just do an X23 movie called Laura. you interesting to see magic come into it because you know the sorcerers at
[45:22] Carage, they deal with magic and then you can use magic with a K. Like actual or Maline Prior if they want to go that way with it. Let's talk about some super chats. Let's get to this real quick. Uh God's Mystery 360 gave us $10. Very
[45:36] know, being that Doomsday is being released on 1218, it makes me wonder what happens to the 1218 universe in all already been rewritten and or has or have we already been rewritten and just
[45:50] universe? >> Let me look. 1218 Marvel universe. >> I don't understand the reference. >> Uh Earth 1218 is the designation given
[46:02] to our reality where superheroes and the other superpowered beings don't >> I wonder if that's why they're adamantly not moving this release date. >> Is it going to become real? Am I going to finally beat Spiderbed?
[46:15] watching. [laughter] >> Guys, did you hear that? I would still finish the movie. I got I got to be honest. Loved ones aside, hopefully us 20 bucks and said Doom could
[46:28] manipulate Wanda into being mad at Steve like he is because she was she was Steve in terms of going to a different universe and having a kid. So, she's thinking, "Why can't I do that?" But you can. What do we think about that?
[46:43] >> I don't like it. I don't want her being manipulated or controlled or swayed. I just want her to be own whatever she's doing. again. I mean, she can be the antagonist, but I don't want her to be
[46:56] >> I I don't think she'll be one of those witches. I seriously doubt it. I don't know. I I think um for this exact reason repetitive story beat. >> I love your hermit idea. her being in
[47:09] the void, the young Avengers finding her. I I think that'd be cool. Like they come across her in like some tavern in Battle World in a cloak. I don't That'd >> She's [laughter] putting clothes on the line. I don't do that anymore. Walks
[47:24] away. But I'm your son. You're not my son. Like whatever it is. I don't know. >> And then he gets attacked by a monster and she's like, "Stop. That's my son." Okay, let's go. Let's go do doesn't say that or just shows up at the end. And
[47:37] your accent?" Anyways, let's move on. Um, [laughter] Um, [laughter] >> hey, credit to Florence Pew. They have yet to even slightly drop that accent. And I am so glad.
[47:50] >> I was shocked the first time I saw an interview with Florence Pew because I thought they were Russian. I really thought that like that was I I don't it's this cool Russian person who can also do American accent sometimes."
[48:05] >> Yeah. and she's keeping it on thick even in Brand New Day Doomsday from what we've seen so far. Yeah, >> it's not a competition, >> it's not a competition, >> but in terms of character replacements
[48:17] multiverse saga, like you know, it's not a one to one, but like you'd be like, Hulk, Jane Foster could have been the new Thor, etc." By far the best put Kate Bishop number two. >> No offense to Sam. Um, let's see here.
[48:32] off, so sorry I'm not getting the end of it correctly. Gave us 49 pesos and said, Con?" Tommy, will the Watcher be watching at Tommy Con? watching at Tommy Con? >> I don't know. Can we afford him or is he
[48:47] Oh, watchers. >> He's winking at me, Tommy. [laughter] All right, I got to come up with like a graphic to put up on screen when you joke. I think we need >> on your screen, too. like the not the
[49:03] >> Monty G, friend of the channel, gave us five bucks and said, "Thanks to Alex for mentioning this live stream on Blue Sky. Otherwise, I would have never known it this, guys. We got to get better. >> Blue Sky. It's Blue Sky. It's where
[49:17] >> Yeah. Hell yeah. I'm on Mastadon. Is Mastadon still a thing? [laughter] >> You skiing you skiing over at uh Blue Sky. You know, I found an old tweet online. >> Oh, [laughter] where the real truth is.
[49:31] of mine where where I was asking, "Hey, what Mastadon server do I go on?" And I for I was like, "What the [ __ ] is Mastadon?" I could not remember because I always hop on whatever the new thing is to lock down that username.
[49:45] >> Just in case, you know. >> But yeah, so anyways, thanks Alex for that, too. War of Nine gave us five bucks and said on three, let's all say Alex. One, two, three. Okay, let's one, two, three. Ah.
[50:01] supposed to be a whole thing. Let's [ __ ] go. And Colton, too, and Tommy and Ryan. Let's go, Nerd. Unite. >> Thank you for just stopping at my name first and not including >> anybody. Let's go.
[50:15] >> You've clearly never tried to sing happy birthday over Zoom. If you think we can >> You should hear us trying to do our screen crush countdown in morning. >> Horrific. and on Monday mornings when nobody wants to speak. But at this
[50:29] point, we can't stop doing it because that would be wrong because I don't >> Yeah. >> Blaze Bastard gave us two bucks and said >> Blaze Bastard gave us two bucks and said [laughter]
[50:43] said, and I like this question. How do we feel about Allan Richson, we feel about Allan Richson, Jack Reacher himself as Venom? Okay. Yeah, >> he's a big guy.
[50:57] >> man. >> Just doing a lot. He's I've I've seen where he is just out there scorching earth on previous jobs that he had. He's like he he was laying waste to the Ninja Turtles franchise on this interview I
[51:12] saw. >> He just not I I wonder if he's like too because he's like one of those people that just doesn't seem afraid to kind of they didn't treat me well. Whereas it feels like everyone at Marvel, even if
[51:27] like it was really a joy to be there and I'd love to be back someday. >> He's gonna be DC. >> I was gonna say he's not he's not too loose of a cannon for James Gun, baby. I think they're gonna pull him in. Maybe
[51:42] >> No, Batman. >> Yeah, >> I could see him as a Bane if Dave Batista didn't already, I think, have Deathstroke and we'll get that Deathstroke um B.
[51:55] do it. I think he's done a great job over the years kind of distancing he slammed down a bunch. I don't think that he necessarily wants to spend of and good. He's a great actor, man. I'm like nobody, believe me, as somebody
[52:09] the 2000s, nobody was more shocked than me that Batista turned out to be a good >> I I think he's actually thought that >> he's actually going by Dave Biddyista >> Oh, is he? Okay. Over on Mastadon, he was doing an
[52:23] >> I still call him by his government name. Gotcha. I'd say I'm not on Mastadon. said, "Saw a rumor about there being three never seen before variants in Secret Wars like Miles Teller as the maker. Would be nuts, but improbable. We
[52:36] for your super chat." >> And Garzilla gave us another two bucks and said, "Caval might be the only dude that can follow Hugh." I really like >> I really like it. >> Okay. I I think everyone knows my my
[52:49] love for Henry Caval, but how old is he? I think he's a little old for the brand >> I think he's 41. I'm pretty sure he's a year younger than me. He's not that old. >> He He also I mean, this is a horrible way of saying it, but I feel like he's
[53:03] kind of burnt on being Superman. So for Marvel to pick him up and throw him in as Wolverine full time, >> it just feels like again people are just going to be always talking about that Superman versus Wolverine porting him
[53:16] >> He Let me be clear, he >> and he just wants to play Warhammer. He just wants to do Warhammer [ __ ] and like make his Warhammer universe. >> I want to be clear, he is not too old to play Wolverine right now. I just worry
[53:29] that maybe he's too old to play Wolverine like for the next 20 years, >> that's fair. >> A lot of people say Taran Edgington or like this next super chapl bastard again. Gave us $5 and said get Daniel
[53:42] >> Look, I'll do it. >> I don't think he wants to be Oh, okay. >> I'll get on steroids. I'll get the hair transplant. I'll do it. Yeah, we can do >> You don't need to do a damn thing, Colton. You just show up camera ready.
[53:56] >> I don't even need it. You're already getting the wings. You got it, baby. >> Yeah. >> And the last super chat is just from GL Saber. [laughter] >> The last super chat is from GL Saber.
[54:11] Gave us $5. Just gave us $5. Thanks so much, Colton. Sorry I stepped on your >> Well, guys, that about wraps it up for the show. I hope you enjoyed listening to us discuss and argue over Wolverine and X23. Let us know who you think the
