12:09[00:02] everything we know about the Marvel Studios X-Men movie coming in 2028. I'm channel and the Marvel Studios X-Men cast is coming together with Deadline reporting that Scott Summers Cyclops will be played by Kit Connor from
[00:16] Heartstopper alongside another Marvel Studios mutant Wicked actor Joe Locke and from the movie Warfare alongside Marvel actors like Joseph Quinn, Will not yet officially confirmed by Marvel Studios, this news is expected to be
[00:29] confirmed at Disney's D23 event on August 14th where I will be there on the sounds like the latest X-Men actor confirmed after Samara Weaving as Emma Grey that we learned about in Spider-Man Brand New Day. In this video, I'm going
[00:43] to break down everything we are learning about this Marvel Studios X-Men film. By themed designs available at our merch store nerdriot.shop. Specifically, film like Delmar's Deli and The Physics Are Theoretical, But The Fun Is Real.
[00:57] Who Suit design and our Guy in the Chair shirt. And a huge thanks to all of our fans who rock our gear, post selfies and tag us like Trevor Minnie. I hope that Raptor didn't bite you too hard. CHF Sam, looking good in that Doctor Doom
[01:11] design. And this guy, Tech Booth Operator Barrel SC, who might be the one tenant shirt. And stay tuned to hear about Transformers Eternal War. So, Kit Studios to play Cyclops, Scott Summers, in their upcoming X-Men film. The first
[01:27] film of the mutant saga we're learning. Deadline's Justin Kroll broke the news and auditions over the last couple months have been happening for this X-Men reboot and that a small group of actors tested after the July 4th
[01:39] that Samara Weaving will be playing Emma Frost, Sadie Sink is of course playing and what's going to be a very complicated marriage involving Jean point. Sadie Sink finally opened up
[01:53] interviews with Variety and Entertainment Weekly and shared that Things creators the Duffer brothers that she would be playing Jean Grey, which is Uncanny X-Men 134 in the Stranger Things pilot episode, which was part of the
[02:06] Dark Phoenix Saga. But, Sadie did not tell anyone else in the Stranger Things cast, which makes the footage of all the cast crying during the final table read, smiled, even funnier. But, Sadie was also asked whether Jean is headed to the
[02:18] Westchester estate at the end of brand new day, and she said she genuinely had no clue. But, Sadie did offer this to Variety as to what all the X-Men will be film. She said, "It's been really exciting all the conversations we've
[02:30] had, and I feel really lucky that I have this introduction in through Spider-Man X-Men is all about, too. The more I've gotten into it and researched what makes incredibly flawed and maybe have done bad things. That makes them even more
[02:44] more complex hero if they don't start relationship to their powers, because it's not like they've asked for this or easier. They make them a lot harder, actually. So, knowing Jean's struggle
[02:57] will be important to the future of her character and where she goes just makes excited for." Sadie also told Variety that she has not met her X-Men she wasn't part of the July screen
[03:10] with Entertainment Weekly, she did confirm that she was part of the screen Sadie just didn't want to get caught in the gotcha question, and she would have Tamara Weaving based on the phrasing of the question. But, also in that
[03:23] question that was asked, Sadie did seem to confirm the production timeline for the movie of a 2028 release. Those are the X-Men cast we know for sure as of rumored include Kaylee Spani as Rogue and Charles Melton as Hank McCoy Beast,
[03:39] and Jake Schreier would have worked with in season 2 of Beef on Netflix. This Thunderbolts director Jake Schreier and written by Beef writers Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo. Joanna Calo was also the showrunner of The Bear. Kasra Farahani
[03:53] working on Loki, Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Avengers: Doomsday. Elsewhere Indiana Evans kind of put her own name in the ring when she confirmed that she director Jake Schreier and that Mystique is her favorite character.
[04:07] play or you grew up watching that you're them. >> Oh, I mean, uh Mystique has always been >> There have also been rumors that Professor Charles Xavier of this film
[04:20] has come down to a couple different actors, including Bill Skarsgård, the 35-year-old actor who plays Pennywise of the It franchise, and Tom Pelphrey, the incredible roles, including Netflix's Ozark and HBO's Task. Meanwhile, other
[04:34] confirmed and it's neither of those two actors. In The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision newsletter, Boris Kit reported that Christopher Abbott from HBO's Girls last year also tested for the role of Professor X. But, unlike their
[04:48] Pelphrey were no longer in the running, Marvel would not respond as to whether or not Abbott still was. I mean, whoever gets cast, I'm excited to see a Charles Xavier in the MCU who just has an American accent. The Patrick Stewart and
[05:01] that he's an Englishman, when in fact that character was supposed to be born York's Westchester County. There have also been some rumors out there that Adrian Brody is in contention to play Magneto, Erik Lehnsherr. It's not from
[05:13] somewhat reassuring to hear that Marvel Studios might be considering a Jewish actor, specifically Adrien Brody has won two Oscars, both roles being men who survived the horrors of the Nazis in World War II. At 53 years old, Brody
[05:26] would be a generation older than the other actors confirmed for this film and just mentioned for Professor X. But, as I mentioned in Monday's video, Marvel sticky timeline issue and maintain Magneto's canonical backstory from
[05:40] that Namor kind of suggested in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever that mutants in the MCU might just age slower than normal humans do. Jake Schreier was born surprised if this movie altered Magneto's backstory away from World War
[05:54] going on to try to get Jamie Lawson to be Aurora Monroe or Storm. Jamie Lawson Matt Reeves' Batman films and in the Penguin series and she's only 28. I
[06:06] brought to Bella Real that she was just a bit older than that. The official D23 poster was released on Friday and the art includes a depiction of Storm in the black Outback costume that we saw her wearing in X-Men '97 season 1. While we
[06:19] are expecting some X-Men '97 and Marvel animation news at D23, if they're huge event, I'm expecting some live-action Storm related X-Men announcement. And of course, Adam Driver has been speculated to be cast in some
[06:32] role in this franchise, perhaps as Nathaniel Essex, Mr. Sinister, but Kevin always passes on everything they talk to him about. According to scooper Jeff scoop said that the runner-up for Cyclops was Asa Butterfield from Ender's
[06:46] Game and Hugo. And we have seen many times that during the casting process, close to a big role but doesn't get the role, they'll sometimes offer them mean, Nicholas Hoult was one of the finalists for Kal-El, Superman and
[06:58] with you. Why don't you play Lex Luthor?" I mean, there's obviously no X-Men. Nightcrawler, Kurt Wagner, Iceman, Bobby Drake, Angel, Warren III. Now, we aren't sure as of this taping of the movie's release date, but
[07:12] of its write-up of the Kit Connor reports. Upcoming X-Men movie will kick off a third saga of Marvel following Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret Wars. Following Doomsday and Secret Wars suggests that X-Men will be the next MCU
[07:26] release after Secret Wars. Secret Wars coming December 17th, 2027 and the next open release date on Disney's slate would probably be May 5th, 2028. I'm so non-committal with its release date for Ghost Rider when they announced it
[07:39] in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con. So, I think the 2028 slate is actually going to be X-Men on May 5th, 2028, Ghost Rider on July 28th, 2028, Black Panther 3, which is confirmed to be December 15th, 2028. Yes, three MCU movies in one
[07:53] year. It's a big scale up from just the one movie we're getting in 2027, but hey, Marvel Studios released three movies in 2025 even after they announced also suggest that Ghost Rider and Black Panther 3 might be expected to connect
[08:06] in some way to Marvel Studios mutant saga. For ideas on how that is going to movies with the Fantastic Four, with Nova, and a possible recasting of Tony Stark, check out Sunday's episode of our sneak peek podcast. I'm a simple man. I
[08:20] like lasers, I like big robots, and I like big robots with lasers. I like Transformers. So, whenever there's a new way for me to re-engage with all the Decepticons, I'm excited. That means right now, I'm excited about
[08:32] Transformers: Eternal War. Transformers: Eternal War is a new strategy game with original story full of action and adventure. It's a celebration of for the franchise as a whole. The story follows the rise of the Chaos Legion, an
[08:48] Unicron, who is capable of wielding the unstable chaos energy to summon the ultimate evil warriors. As familiar influence, the balance of the universe begins to collapse. Faced with a threat
[09:01] encountered, Autobots and Decepticons must confront an impossible choice: continue their endless war or stand together to protect Earth, Cybertron, and the future of all they fight for. The combat system is streamlined, so you
[09:14] You recruit, upgrade, and command an Transformers while assembling powerful team synergies. Transformers: Eternal repetitive maintenance and more on assembling powerful teams, developing
[09:28] strategy, and pushing back against the growing Chaos Legion threat. It's easy to pick up and hard to put down. Pre-register for Transformers: Eternal War on iOS or Android by clicking the link in the description. Since Bill
[09:40] minutes of Spider-Man Brand New Day, we are expecting Chamal Tillman's character to come back as a villain in the mutant saga. And the MCU has already introduced Kamala Khan, Ms. Marvel, played by Iman Vellani, Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta,
[09:53] suspected mutant Wanda Maximoff, Scarlet Witch, Elizabeth Olsen, and then based Billy Maximoff, Wiccan, played by Joe Locke, and suspected mutant Tommy Maximoff, Speed, played by Rory Mullica in the upcoming Vision Quest series. And
[10:07] also suspected mutant Franklin Richards. For many years, Franklin Richards was canon, but for the past couple decades, that was changed so that he was kind of mutate who could make his DNA look like
[10:20] status remains debated, and if you consider him a mutant or you don't, I'm not going to argue with you. But so far, the confirmed cast of this X-Men film, Locke, Rory Mullica, and Iman Vellani, it all represents a very young group of
[10:34] actors. Like we are going to have a Jean and a Scott in their early 20s. Kit Connor is 22. Sadie Sink is 24. Now, Tamara Weaving is 34, which actually in the comics, there is at one point a love triangle with Scott and Jean and
[10:48] Emma Frost. Because Emma Frost, in addition to being able to turn her body telepath. But a slightly older Emma Frost also suggests that we might meet that she might have already gone through Emma Frost's tragic backstory as a
[11:02] teacher at the Massachusetts Academy training the Hellions until Trevor along with the mutant hunting Sentinels killing other mutants and staged a surprise attack on the school that
[11:14] massacres most of Emma's students. Already, the way Brand New Day left these final shots of Jean Grey are meant to be seen as leading directly to the X-Men film, according to this interview with Variety where he was asked, "How
[11:27] forward?" And Feige said, "Well, for people who have seen Brand New Day, they Spider-Man films and into the future of the MCU. And I think we're still in just came out, but it leads into another very well-known Marvel franchise created
[11:42] by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Yeah, that Lee and Kirby franchise, obviously X-Men. So, maybe we really are meant to see Jean Grey headed on that bus out of Westchester County where Charles Xavier is. I mean, I know I was probably
[11:56] over-analyzing that shot of Jean leaning her head against her own reflection as connection to her future clone Madelyne Pryor. I think Marvel Studios will get to that, but based on Peter Parker inventing what are essentially mutant
[12:09] inhibitor collars, I think these early era X-Men stories are going to be all about mutant containment and oppression and Sentinel technology. So, two we think Marvel Studios is going to announce a Wolverine actor, someone who
[12:22] claws fighting in the bar brawl referenced in She-Hulk? And could they go with an actor who's slightly older, someone in their 30s? Or would any age gap like that make things just really messy with Jean Grey and Scott Summers
[12:35] being in their early 20s? And a second question, how much will Marvel Studios Celestials as part of the mutant genetic origin story? The current season of X-Men '97, which is awesome by the way, is establishing that in that animated
[12:48] universe at least, the Celestial Eson the Searcher visited Earth in ancient times and experimented on Insaba Nur, aka Apocalypse, to elevate and transform all of mutantkind was really part of the Celestial plan and grand design. Eson
[13:03] MCU. He was the one who wielded the Power Stone in the flashbacks in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1. So, can we connect the dots here and say that Infinity Stone radiation does have some impact on the X-gene? The same
[13:17] by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner in Endgame? The same Bruce Banner who was just effectively the Albert Einstein warning the J. Robert Oppenheimer of Brand New day about the dangers of mutant suppression technology. Again,
[13:30] when Marvel Studios confirms this mutant cast, I will be there in person at D23 in Anaheim reporting all of the updates that you can hear fastest by joining our channel starting 6:00 p.m. Pacific time on Friday, August 14th. Comment down

[13:56] And here's a little clip of our recent Who Invited This Nerd episode where I talked about the lessons I learned from trying to stupidly report on rumors live on the scene from events like D23 and Comic-Con. So, with all this confidence
[14:08] that I had as this high school junior, I was like, I know what I'm doing now. I close to the sun because this year I really wanted to try to report eyewitness things of what I was seeing and hearing. I I wanted to inform the
[14:22] public about like what the word on the street is. And I learned a lot of valuable lessons about currently in progress news and rumor and Diego. Um I don't normally do that kind of
[14:36] thing. I don't normally break news per my sources cuz I don't have that many sources and the sources that I do have, I normally just keep internal to help the New Rockstars team plan our production schedule and our programming
[14:48] slate and I'm not trying to get word out there that way. That's not really the hustle I'm involved with. But while I was there in San Diego, I started to get like, okay. And uh so there was two things that I reported while I was on
[15:01] the ground that actually maybe three that um were either not accurate or just complete like hoaxes or rumors that were just like not true at all. Uh and also just
[15:16] taken out of context that really I should have known better and phrased it better. You can listen to whole podcast and join this exclusive dialogue with us below or going to n our underground.supercast.com.
[15:29] And don't forget to pre-register for Transformers Eternal War on iOS or description. Big thanks to Studio Tech Brian Kim, New and Abby Priel and all of our supporting editors for their [music] work on this
