[00:01] absolutely wild in the stock market. And if you've been following this series for portfolio is looking much better than it started this series about, I think, 4 months ago now. And the stocks we've

[00:14] been mentioning have been doing so, so well. Moreover, in April, which was just last month, so many people were seeing surprising dividends, profit, and money Well, if you missed out on all of these

[00:26] dividends and profit, please don't miss the 10 stocks to invest in for this month because May 2026 is turning out to be even more interesting in the stock market in Nigeria. So, as usual, in this video, I'll be talking about my top 10

[00:39] Nigerian stocks to buy for May 2026. And all of these 10 stocks I'll be talking about in this video have been picked based on earnings data, the sector, and so many things happening in Nigeria right now. So, without wasting your

[00:52] Now, the first stock for this month is International Breweries. Now, what exactly does this company do? Now, International Breweries is one of Nigeria's major beer producers, and they make popular brands like Trophy,

[01:05] Budweiser, Castle Lite, and even Hero Beer. And they're part of the AB InBev global family, which means that they also have access to international brands is interesting. Now, you see, this company, they just posted their Q1

[01:19] earnings, that is, their first quarter earnings, and the numbers were better than expected. Their revenue grew by about 18% year-over-year, which was driven primarily by their premium beer segment. And this tells us something

[01:32] important about Nigerian consumers. They're actually spending a bit more for expensive beer like Budweiser, Castle Lite, and so on out there right now. And International Breweries is perfectly positioned to capture this trade. And

[01:46] distribution network into smaller cities and towns where premium beer wasn't previously available in Nigeria. So, it is on my list for this month, although it is not really an exciting stock, but if you're looking for a steady growth in

[01:59] the defensive sector, then this is a solid pick for you. Now, before I go to video and if you're new to our YouTube channel, please subscribe to the YouTube channel and help us get to 10,000 subscribers. Thank you. Now, the second

[02:11] stock for this month is NAHCO, N A H C O. Now, NAHCO means Nigerian Aviation Now, let me explain what they actually do because it is not immediately obvious

[02:23] provides ground handling services at Nigerian airports. So, what that means the airport, someone has to handle the cargo and the load and also unload luggages, service the aircraft, assist passengers with special needs and also

[02:38] provide technical support. Now, that's what NAHCO does. They operate at major airports across Nigeria. They operate in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano and so local and international airlines. Now, why should you actually buy this stock

[02:53] is that air travel in Nigeria is exploding right now and cargo, especially in e-commerce logistics, is actually booming. And here's the model. You see, they have exclusive contracts with major airlines and this

[03:07] means that they have recurring revenue, they have predictable revenue for the company. And when maybe Air Peace or maybe British Airways needs ground handling in Lagos or in anywhere in Nigeria, they are using NAHCO. And they

[03:19] are also expanding into cargo logistics, which is beyond just airports. They are now building warehousing capacity and even cold storage facilities for perishable goods. So, you think of pharmaceuticals and fresh food. So, the

[03:31] for this company include increase in domestic and international air travel, higher cargo logistics expansion, especially in e-commerce. I also have airport infrastructure improvement, which is happening in Nigeria right now.

[03:45] And also long-term contracts that they have will also provide them revenue visibility. And since the beginning of 2026, this stock has actually been doing who have bought into it. But it is not yet too late for you. And moreover, most

[03:58] people are not thinking about Airport Services PLC, which is exactly why you Now, the third stock for this month is for short. And I think this one is interesting because it is not just one

[04:11] business. Custodian is basically a financial services empire in one stock. company is all about, Custodian is a holding company with subsidiaries in insurance, I'm in banking, asset management, pension fund administration,

[04:26] and so on. Now, think of it like owning a piece of multiple financial businesses all at once. Now, you see the insurance arms on the right, life insurance, insurance. Um the asset management division manages pension funds and also

[04:40] mutual funds. And they also own a significant stake in the banking sector in Nigeria. And here's why I like uh Custodian uh stock right now. You see, Nigeria's insurance penetration is actually still less than 1% of GDP. And

[04:53] that's incredibly low compared to other countries. And you see, as Nigerians get wealthier and more financially educated, insurance adoption will definitely grow massively. And Custodian is one of the largest pension fund administrators in

[05:05] Nigeria. Every month, millions of workers in Nigeria contribute to their pensions and Custodian manages all of these funds. Now, their recent earnings showed a 22% revenue growth and also improved profitability across all their

[05:18] stock that will give you simple diversification in the financial sector, then this one is for you. Now, before I continue with this video, I want to let ebook on the Nigerian Stock Market Guide for beginners. Now, this is not like

[07:08] interested, click on the first link in the description of this video, or you can check the pinned comment of this video for the link to get the ebook. video. Now, the fourth stock for this month is United Bank of Africa, UBA.

[07:22] Now, you see UBA is one of Africa's largest and most international banks. UBA operates in 20 African countries, plus offices in New York, and London, and Paris. And in Nigeria alone, UBA has over 1,000 branches. And across Africa,

[07:36] and thousands of corporate clients, and finance. Now, you see on the traditional banking side, UBA has rock-solid fundamentals. They have strong corporate banking relationships with multinational

[07:50] companies operating across Africa. And then on the digital banking side, UBA has also launched what is called Leo. Leo is an AI-powered banking chatbot that lets you do banking transactions through your WhatsApp, your Facebook

[08:04] Messenger, and even other platforms. And with this Leo, you can also check your balance, transfer money, and pay bills all through your chat. And it's actually working. Millions of transactions are now happening through Leo. Now, they've

[08:16] banking app, which is generally one of the best in Nigeria. And this stock is actually great for dividend investors, though they've not paid their dividends this year, but UBA has a strong track record of paying consistent dividends,

[08:29] even when investing aggressively in expansion and technology. Now, the fifth Now, you see, Sterling Bank is a commercial bank, but here's what makes the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Now, you see, Sterling Bank, they call themselves

[08:44] mean? Now, you see, Sterling Bank has deliberately focused on five sectors. You have health, you have education, you have agriculture, you have renewable energy, and you have women-owned businesses. And they're not just trying

[08:57] actually specialized. So, for example, they have dedicated lending products for hospitals and clinics. They finance different projects. They provide working capital, especially for schools and educational institutions. And they have

[09:10] programs designed specifically for women entrepreneurs. Now, there are multiple reasons why you should actually get this stock this month. Uh the first reason is customers, and they have been focusing on getting so many Gen Zs and even

[09:23] millennials to bank with them. Now, secondly, they have been partnering with sectors. And when I mean high-growth sectors, I mean health care, education, renewable energy, and some other fast-growing industries in Nigeria. And

[09:37] the third reason is that Sterling Bank has less competition in this niches. Now over corporate loans and retail deposits, Sterling Bank owns this specialized segment of nation. And their digital banking platform is also growing

[09:50] fast. They've invested heavily in mobile banking and their app is actually really good. So if you love investing in the banking sector like me, they should also check this one out. Now the sixth stock to buy for this month is Seplat Energy

[10:02] time I'm mentioning this stock in this series. Uh from the first time I mentioned it till today, it has gone up by almost double the price and it is still doing really, really well. Now Seplat is one of Nigeria's leading oil

[10:15] and gas producers. Uh Seplat has been doing well for so many years and just like I expected it to do well this year, it has been doing just that. So if you bought it in January or February when I mentioned it, you should actually be in

[10:27] good profit right now. And don't forget that I said in my previous video that Tony Elumelu is also an investor in this company. And you know this guy when he always tend to do well. Now the seventh stock for this month is Conoil PLC. Now

[10:41] you see Conoil operates in Nigeria's downstream oil and gas sector. Now let downstream refers to the part of the oil industry that deals with refining and customers. Now you see Conoil doesn't drill for oil or explore for new

[10:56] reserves. Instead, what they do is that they buy refined petroleum product and then they sell them through their network of gas stations and distribution market lubricant, uh greases and different petroleum products out there.

[11:10] And for so many years, Nigeria had fuel subsidies. The government subsidized petrol prices to keep them artificially low and this sounds good for customers, but it was actually terrible for these fuel marketers like Conoil because their

[11:23] actually nothing. And the subsidy has now been removed for some years by the current president and fuel prices have now gone up really high. And since then, most of these uh companies like Conoil have recorded so much profit. And their

[11:37] most recent earnings showed gross profit margin expanding from just 8% to 14%. And that is really huge. And they're also expanding into retail network. They're opening new gas stations in high-traffic locations across Nigeria.

[11:50] And this stock is perfect for you if you prefer to invest in the energy sector. sector or you want to diversify into that sector, then I'll advise you go for Seplat Energy. Now, the eighth stock for this month is United Capital PLC. Now,

[12:04] United Capital is an investment banking and asset management firm. Now, let me explain what they do uh day-to-day. Now, you see, on the investment banking side, raise capital. So, let's say for example, a company wants to go public uh

[12:17] that is IPO, then United Capital structures the deal, they find investors, and they manage the process. So, if a company wants to issue bonds, uh United Capital also handles that. They also do mergers and acquisitions

[12:29] side, which is the asset management side, they manage money for institutions, uh pension funds, high-net-worth individuals, and even retail investors. And they also run uh mutual funds. They manage private

[12:42] portfolios, they and they offer wealth management services. Now, you see, The thing is that they thrive when capital markets are booming. And right now, the Nigerian capital market are on fire. They're really doing well. The

[12:55] stock market is up. More companies are planning IPOs, and bond issuance is increasing as companies are needing more capital. And even retail investors are now starting to invest more as more young Nigerians start investing because

[13:08] everyone is talking about investing on social media right now. And United Capital sits in the middle of all of this activity, doing what? Collecting fees and making money. And their recent earnings growth showed a 28% revenue

[13:21] growth with strong momentum in both investment banking and asset management digital wealth management platform targeting younger investors. And this is bringing a whole new generation of clients for them. So, if you think the

[13:35] stock market is going up and it's staying up right now, the United Capital is one of the best stocks to invest in right now. Now, the next stock for this month is Dangote Sugar. Now, let me tell you why Dangote Sugar keeps appearing in

[13:47] this monthly picks and why it is climbing the rankings every month. Now, you see Dangote Sugar is Nigeria's largest sugar refiner, right now. They refine imported raw sugar and they sell refined sugar to consumers, uh food

[14:00] manufacturers, uh beverage companies, and other confectionery makers out just a sugar refining company. They import raw sugar, they refine it, and then they sell it. Now, you see it is a good business, but it depends on global

[14:15] here's what has changed recently for Dangote Sugar. Now, you see Dangote backward integration. So, what that means is that instead of just refining imported sugar, they are now growing their own sugarcane. And they've

[14:29] plantations in northern Nigeria. We're talking about tens of thousands of hectares. And just last month, they announced that they achieved 70% backward integration. So, this means that 70% of the sugar that they refine

[14:42] right now comes from their own farms, not from imports anymore. So, you can see that it is a game-changer for Dangote Sugar. And here's why it is a reason is that it slashes cost for them. So, they are no longer at the mercy of

[14:55] global sugar prices or even the exchange rate fluctuations. They now control their own supply chain from farm to retail. Now, the second reason is that can now give their own price for their sugar. Now, the third one is that the

[15:08] Nigerian government protects local sugar producers. So, in case you don't know, there are tariffs on sugar imports to encourage local production, and Dangote Sugar is benefiting from this protection. And number four is the

[15:21] dividend potential. Now, you see Dangote Sugar is generating massive cash flow now return more money or more dividends to their shareholders out there. So this is perfect for dividend investors or if you want steady dividends and long-term

[15:35] capital appreciation, then this is for you. Now the 10th stock to buy for this month is Access Holdings. Now you see Access Holdings is the parent company of Access Bank, which is one of Nigeria's largest banks right now. But Access is

[15:49] way more than just a bank right now. You see, over the last few years, Access has been on an acquisition spree across Africa. They've been acquiring banks in Ghana, in Zambia, uh Botswana, Mozambique, uh South Africa, and even

[16:02] more. And they now operate in over 20 African countries right now. And they're They have payment processing subsidiaries. They're also improving they also just launched a blockchain-based cross-border payment

[16:17] system. Now you see Access Bank has executed this massive Pan-African expansion strategy, and they've built incredible structure for the business. They've invested billions, and yet the stock is still actually trading below

[16:29] understand what book value means, it means that the stock price is still lower than the actual value of the company's assets. So this means that Access Bank is kind of still undervalued. And here are a few reasons

[16:41] this month. Now you see the first reason is that Access Bank is now one of the largest banks in Africa by asset, and this means that they can easily scale up, and it means that negotiation power, operational efficiency, and the ability

[16:54] to invest in technology is now bigger for the company. Now number two is diversification. Now you see, unlike banks that are Nigerian only, Access Bank has revenue streams across different continents and different

[17:06] countries in Africa. Now number three is the fintech innovation. Now you see, payment platform I mentioned earlier, that is really huge. You see, sending money between African countries is currently expensive and kind of slow.

[17:20] right now is building an infrastructure to make it instant and cheap. And if they succeed, this becomes a massive revenue driver. And number four is about dividend. Now, you see, despite all this growth investment they are currently

[17:33] doing, Access Bank is still paying solid dividends to its investors. So, if you love dividends or you are a long-term investor, then this one is definitely for you. So, these are my top 10 stocks to buy for May 2026. Now, let's talk

[17:45] about portfolio management before I end this video. Now, you see, if you have 2026, you are probably sitting on some nice profit right now. And here's what I which is this month. Now, you see, from this list of 10 stocks for this month, I

[18:00] maybe Access Holdings and one other bank. Then you can take one investment or asset management company. I would say maybe you take United Capital. Then from there you can now pick Custodian Investment or maybe any other stock from

[18:14] you for this month. You don't have to invest in all 10. Just pick like four or So, there you have it, my top 10 Nigerian stocks to buy for May 2026. looking to invest in for this month, please feel free to let me know in the
