[00:06] welcome to another episode of the weekly reset. Taliesin and Evitel's wondrous wisdom show in a week where the race to world first mythic is really getting

[00:18] exciting because you know, we've got some mythic raids. Blizz have, and I don't use these words lightly, pulled the rip cord with a lot of private auras for healing frames in particular. There's huge rounds of tuning, there's

[00:31] data mining and raid schedules and free things from promotions and also I want to talk about what a triumph I think that this first week of raiding was on a number of very important levels and we will we will talk about all of that and

[00:46] more. But first, the reason I know you're all really here, the race to world first heroic for guilds with a name a bit like Immortalis. The race of mostly because then they wouldn't have to do quite so many split runs. And

[01:00] in this opening week, the mighty, brave, sweet-smelling, handsome people's sweet-smelling, handsome people's champions Immortalis Argent Dawn EU, yay! People's champions because of course we haven't been actual champions

[01:14] for quite a few expansions now, cleared the Void Spire and Dream Rift on normal quickly and efficiently before failing to kill heroic Dream Rift and then also failing to kill the first boss in heroic Void Spire, which is a shame especially

[01:29] as the reason for our failure in both cases was simply not making the DPS check in either fight, which is awkward, honestly, but easily solvable when we come back with a modest great vault's worth of gear this week, right? Yeah, I

[01:44] reckon so. In the meantime, that slightly less than Herculean effort puts us above Immortalis Spiritus, Immortalis Amicus and Covenant of Immortalis who are all yet to clear everything on normal but behind, bit like Immortalis

[01:59] on time taken, with Immortalis in second and Infinitus Immortalis in first place currently, all of whom have killed a heroic encounter already. But only one, meaning that we are just one boss kill away from the leaders right now. And I

[02:15] think this is a silly race to world first, to which I would say, yes, obviously, but also, look me in the eye and tell me that that wasn't watching Liquid Guild up there 49th healing priest this week. Rest assured,

[02:30] we will be keeping you up to date with all the exciting twists and turns of this race over the coming weeks. But now it's time to join Evie for a rundown of the week's news. Welcome to Evie's news rundown. Let's run down. The raid goes

[02:46] mythic this week, but not all of the raids, obviously. Some of the raids we don't have yet. It's confusing, I know. Let me explain. The Midnight season 1 release schedule is staggered across four weeks. Season 1 kicked off last

[03:01] week, which means we are now entering raid week two, and with it have mythic difficulty for the Void Spire raid, mythic difficulty for the single boss Dream Rift raid, the launch of raid finder wing two and story mode, and the

[03:14] launch of the mythic plus season. So, if you're wondering where the March on you're wondering where the March on Quel'Danas is, that opens next week on all difficulties. And by all, I mean mythic, heroic, and normal. LFR and

[03:28] story mode for that final piece of the story puzzle will open in week four. Instead, enjoy the story quests that hit this week to set the scene and recruit many pointy-eared cousins to the cause. Tally will talk about all the cool lore

[03:44] here to try and make all these numbers make sense. Hope that worked. Your mythic plus rotation for this season includes the Magisters' Terrace, My'sara Caverns, Windrunner Spire, and Nexus Point Xyemus

[03:59] dungeons from Midnight, and the return of Algeth'ar Academy, Seat of the Triumvirate, Pit of Saron, and Skyreach dungeons to that rotation. Don't forget that keys drop Champion up to Hero gear depending on the level, and make for one

[04:15] of the best ways to fill out your weekly vault with two to nines giving a Hero gear vault slot, and plus 10s and up the coveted Mythic track goodies. I'm absolutely loving these mangy ass keystone mounts. With a 2000 plus rating

[04:31] this season giving you the Calamitous Carion, and a 3K and up rewarding the Convalescent Carion, which really does look like it needs some convalescence, or perhaps you're the one who needs it after all those Skyreach runs. As

[04:46] promised, a new round of class tuning goes live on March 24th taking on board feedback from the first week, and continuing to nerf Disc Priest damage because we all know they love a bit of harsh discipline. Giving Resto Druids a

[05:00] bit of restorative healing buffing, giving Beast Mastery a little pat on the head in the form of a 5% overall damage buff, and ignoring all Warriors completely. If you are feeling left out in this round of tuning, don't forget

[05:14] that we have another coming next week on March 31st. Of particular interest to all taking part in the race to World's First, and again on April 7th just to make sure that story mode tuning is just right. But wait, because I had the

[05:29] audacity to actually finish this script early, Blizz came in with another round of cheeky tuning overnight. This time specifically to nerf Guardian Druid into the cold hard ground, and actually buffing Arms Warriors because they

[05:44] complained so hard. Well done, you complainers. You did it. Have you been doing your regular pray hunts like a good boy/girl for our gravel-voiced basement daddy Astalor? Good for you. Did all of his Silvermoon base quests

[05:59] reset for you after you unlocked nightmare mode? And did you do them all again anyway because he asked you to, so of course you did. Have you been neglecting our sexy Anguishy elf man in his sexy little torture basement? Well,

[06:13] lucky for you, the journey to nightmare level pray has been hot fixed this week, greatly reducing the number of hunts required to reach rank four with Astalor and unlocking nightmare mode. Not very punishing of you, Blizz, but a good

[06:27] incentive for anyone who needs to catch up in their pray journey. Because what are we playing for if not for Astalor whispering sweet violent nothings in our ears? As part of the now endless stream of promos, QR codes, shop items, and

[06:43] drops, the new cuddly void gurgle, that's purple flavor, is our newest Twitch drop arriving on March 26th and entering your housing decor collection after watching four hours of wow content on Twitch over the next month or so.

[06:59] Speaking of housing decor, the Pinterest London treasure hunt took place this weekend, rewarding treasure hunters and QR code sharers the backboard and hoop play set, the bluebird's golden cage, and the preserved gift of Gilneas decor

[07:15] items, or rather, rewarding treasure hunters who managed to redeem their codes before 7:00 p.m. GMT on Saturday and denying all others. Reward redemptions were briefly paused, but the hunt is officially back on now on

[07:29] Pinterest itself. Search for the terms immortal siege flowers and you'll find the code for the gift of Gilneas and more terms and decor will be revealed each day. You have until April 6th to get your goodies. Oh, and this appears

[07:44] to be only redeemable by people in the US, UK, France, and Germany. Also, according to the T&Cs, specifically not redeemable by anyone in mainland China, Russia, or Belarus. They're just like extra excluded, apparently. Speaking of

[08:00] missing out, the Hall of Fame for being one of the first 4,000 players to down one of the first 4,000 players to down our new nemesis Nalaeus closed a mere 9 hours after opening in EU and after 14 hours in NA, confirming that EU just

[08:15] goes the equivalent of 5 hours harder than NA. It's just a fact. You can't argue with me. It's science. The lucky 8,000 received a feat of strength and title, and all the rest of us got a very good night's sleep instead. 12.0.5 data

[08:30] mining never ends, does it? For those of you already looking ahead to 12.0.5, we've had some exciting visuals appearing for us in the data. A slew of new mount models have been dug up, including Sunwalker-style giant eagles

[08:46] with glowing adornments and totems, another Amani bear, another hooded hex eagle, another hawkstrider, which is fine, the Magister's spellbee, which one, hell yeah. Look how hard this purple stingy guy goes, but also two,

[09:02] completely missed the opportunity to be called the Magister's spelling bee. These absolutely savage Gilnean draft horses, which appear to be blinded in both eyes, but make up for it with the most voluminous braided manes and tails,

[09:16] and then these guys. The arboons. arboreal baboons. These are currently listed as baboons. These are currently listed as in-game shop items, and while I am sick

[09:30] to death of this specific skeleton and never want to see it again, I also kind of love these sickos. Conceptually, I'm confused, but also kind of intrigued. beflowered wings look like when they fly. Am I going to buy these mounts?

[09:45] Probably not. But for some reason, I don't hate them. Blizz, hilariously, dropped a blue-eyed Devourer Demon Hunter skin in Overwatch with the Devourer Genji skin about a month ago, sparking concerns that Void Elf and

[10:01] Devourer Demon Hunters would be stuck with fell green eyes and customizations for good. But finally, the long-awaited Demon Hunter eye customizations will arrive in patch 12.0.5. Demon Hunters will finally be given a

[10:15] voidy cosmic blue eye color, and both the blue and the original fell green will have the option to be relatively normal-looking and flameless. Because we can all just agree that Demon Hunters

[10:27] can all just agree that Demon Hunters simply do not get flamed enough. Anyway, enjoy your new eye color. You deserve it. As always, we have links to lots of relevant WoWHead articles in the description below covering all the

[10:39] topics we talk about today in more detail for you to peruse at your leisure. So, get perusing. As Void Spire and Dream Rift open up into Mythic this a couple of minutes ago, Race to World First players, and indeed anyone who is

[10:53] a healer or cares for a healer, will be buoyed by changes to certain dispels, which are no longer private auras as of the latest hotfix. Now, if you've been on WoW Twitter this last week, then you probably noticed a lot of complaints

[11:08] about three fights in particular: the double dragons Valegor and Azshara, Chimaerus in the Dream Rift, and to a lesser degree, the Light Blinded Vanguard. All of whom throw out debuffs which need dispelling, and all of which

[11:22] were causing varying degrees of carnage and despair on healers' raid frame add-ons, which said healers were largely powerless to fix because of the fact that all of these debuffs were private auras. As in, add-ons could not isolate

[11:38] and change their appearance individually because the info was in that secret box. weak auras in retail. So, for example, in Dragons, the Dread Breath debuff went out at the exact same time as another raid-wide debuff which filled the whole

[11:53] party's frames with new icons, making it near impossible to spot who had the fear and who needed dispelling. But, now that Dread Breath is not a private aura, add-on makers can make the frame of the player who has it glow any color in the

[12:06] rainbow, making it super easy to spot. The same goes for the Holy Shield debuff put out by the Lightbound Vanguard and the debuff that needs to soak the pools in Dream Rift. Your healing frame add-ons are unleashed to make those

[12:18] add-ons are unleashed to make those flames flash, gyrate, have big neon sign graphics on them, or play a GIF of Tony Soprano pointing at it and saying, "Hey, dispel this, you idiot, or I'll whack you and I'll whack your whole family

[12:30] though." I am I haven't watched The Sopranos in quite a while, but I think that's right, isn't it? And to be clear, this is a very good thing because, of course, healing frame add-ons should have the freedom to tailor the way that

[12:44] they present available information as they see fit and to the player's preference. Absolutely. Hooray. Big win for everyone this. And I need you to for everyone this. And I need you to know that I am not criticizing literally

[12:57] anyone or belittling the trouble anyone was having when I say, for the sake of balance and from my own experience, using the default Blizzard frames, as I very different and I didn't really have any problems with any of those things at

[13:11] all. The Vanguard debuff? Super easy to spot on the default frame since it's the only debuff going out at that point in the fight and so the only icon occupying could make that icon as big or as small as I needed. I had it quite big cuz I'm

[13:26] in my 40s and I can't really see. But I didn't need to see the detail of the icon, just the position of it in the frame to know what it was instantly. In Dream Rift, I didn't have any problems because the two people at a time who got

[13:39] the debuff had massive circles around them. And since I wanted to dispel them the second they got to a pool, I wasn't looking at the frames anyway. I was looking at them and then mouse over to spelling their character as soon as they

[13:52] were in position. Also, if I was looking at my frames, the debuff was also very obvious, but that's not important. And in Dragons, yeah, that was very hard to spot who had the fear. So, what we did was as a raid group, we made the person

[14:05] who got the fear debuff talk on their microphone and tell us that they had the fear way before they needed to spell him. It's uh pretty amazing new tactic that we came up with and I admit it is not fair to expect other raid groups to

[14:17] play at that kind of high level, but that was our strat. If Liquid or Echo want to borrow it, they can as long as they give us credit. The player with the fear just tells us they have it. And because I know lots of you are getting

[14:29] because you think I'm saying you shouldn't have complained about this, I am not saying you shouldn't have complained about it. It is right that Blizzard have changed these auras, okay? But I also think it's fair to say that a

[14:42] lot of healers are so scared of the default frames, they've literally never function pretty well in these fights for a totally trash player who should uninstall. But may I remind you that at

[14:56] the end of that first week, I have the same mythic progress as anyone on Echo or Liquid or any other guild in the entire world. We're all talking about aren't we? And honestly, the amount of people on socials who just when I said

[15:09] that I wasn't having a problem have been telling me this week that I'm an idiot who doesn't understand the game because I didn't have a problem with a mechanic that they did struggle with is kind of funny, I think. Anyway, this is good

[15:22] news and now, please, can we have proper white and black listing of buffs and debuffs on those standard frames, please? I do not need Prayer of Mending attunements. And poor resto druids are drowning out here. Someone, please,

[15:34] think of the resto druids, okay? But, I want to finish today by talking about something that I absolutely love. Um, I'm putting up a blue bots spoiler for this because it concerns the ending of the Void Spire raid and what

[15:49] happens to Silvermoon after the Void Spire raid. Those of you who have defeated Alleria or watched our cinematic analysis video will know that the climax of that raid is Xal'atath murdering Alleria with the Blade of the

[16:03] Black Empire, no less, ripping out L'ura, the dark naaru that's been living inside her for the last 10 years, using L'ura to blast through the Vanguard of Light's defenses and take the Sunwell. Oh, and also, Turalyon falls down into

[16:15] the abyss, too, but I'm sure he's fine. Don't worry about him. Xal'atath has won. The Isle of Quel'Danas belongs to the void now. The Vanguard of the Light There's only a handful of survivors from the blast and L'ura is now in situ by

[16:31] the Darkwell to be the final boss of the March on Quel'Danas raid next week. And I love the cinematic. It's awesome. Watching an important character get brutally killed and also Turalyon falling down is always going to be a big

[16:45] really think she's dead, either, but whatever. And I absolutely adore that this whole time there actually was a really good reason behind Xal'atath accosting Alleria specifically at every opportunity. The reason Xal'atath would

[17:00] go out of her way to try and make Alleria angry and keep hunting her down was because she wanted Alleria on her tail so that when she was ready to use looking for it because she knew that Alleria would be right there trying to

[17:15] kill her. And I don't know, I just love that Zally sees that as being just all the trouble of capturing Alleria at the end of Dragonflight or something, and then having to keep her alive and subdued until the time was right to chop

[17:30] the Naru out of her. It's just so Zalathane as a plan. I genuinely love it as a plot detail. Yay. But, the thing that I really like about all of this is what happens to Silvermoon. Because, yes, the skybox changes. Gone is the

[17:45] vanguard's thrusting defensive light shaft. Now, a thick purple void shaft pounds the Sunwell, but the entire city feels completely different in the aftermath, too. There's this eerie nighttime quality to the light, and the

[18:02] sound design changes, too. The ominous cracking of thunder from the void storm echoes about the place, and all that music that you've gotten used to in the capital over the last 2 weeks, the motifs are still all there, but in new

[18:16] versions, which are just a bit more distant sounding, a lot more subdued and distant sounding, a lot more subdued and spooky and ethereal-like.

[18:48] best comparison I could make about how this made me feel when I arrived here after the raid was that bit in Ocarina of Time where you go to the bustling town in the future, and it's all destroyed and filled with zombies now.

[19:00] There's a real hopelessness and despair to it all, but would absolutely suck if it was a permanent change or had to last until whatever raid comes in 12.1 next tier. This urgency, this feeling of danger it is the kind of move you can

[19:16] raid loaded in the barrel and ready to go a couple of weeks later to for that reason, I'm going to say that first tier is awesome. A huge success and

[19:32] contributes very, very strongly to Midnight being probably the best expansion experience at launch that I've had since Legion, really. This is just great. 10 out of 10, no notes. I had some notes. Watch the cinematic analysis

[19:44] for that. This is not going to last in all probability, and things are likely to change up again after players complete the March on Kezan. But that just makes it even more special, I think. This is very much Midnight's

[19:57] Argus in the sky moment. You had to be there, and people who were there will created loads of new music tracks for the city that will only be in the game for most players for two weeks or less. I mean, that's so cool. All of this does

[20:13] go some way to giving me confidence in the story of Midnight going forward, and of the story delivery in particular. It's been mostly very strong up to this point, but this this is just something else. I cannot

[20:26] sincerely. Oh, until Illyria crops up not dead. That's going to suck. But let's cross that River Styx when we get to it, eh? What do you think? Were you was? How are you feeling about Midnight

[20:40] healing frame add-on do you use? Apparently, I'm in the market for one. Let us know in the comments below. And thanks for joining us today. If you like this video, don't thank us. Thank our patrons who give us their actual
