11:51[00:00] Hello there and welcome to another video. Today we're going to take a look at the BlizzCon schedule for 2026. This has just released last night and I kind of want to go through it and see what we can learn on the World of Warcraft side. Obviously there's rumors of Heroes of the
[00:15] Storm and Starcraft and new IPs and things like that, but this video is going to solely focus on the kind of World of Warcraft content that we are going to see at BlizzCon 2026. I will be there, so hopefully going to be IRL streaming and live tweeting and things like that. They also
[00:30] one else that it is all available online as well. You can catch the live stream on the different channels for the respective games and on the Blizzard stream as well. So yeah, a free virtual ticket, which is really nice to see. So let's kind of jump into it and take a look at this. This is
[00:44] more of an untripped chatty discussion. I'd love to know your guys' thoughts on this as well. So here is the schedule right here. This is obviously the timings are my local time here in the UK. So yeah, let's not think too much into those. So we have the opening ceremony. This is
[01:00] obviously going to happen on the Hall D. Now, the cool thing about this year particularly is that it is kind of going back to a more throwback BlizzCon. I ran in 2019 as well, and 2019 is way more similar to this one. Now, 2023's BlizzCon did only have one stage,
[01:16] and that was in the Arena, which is now used for Overwatch World Cup. If you look at the map for 2026, it is extremely similar to 2019, and each game having their own separate stage and everything like that is something more akin to a more traditional BlizzCon, so
[01:30] So, yeah, it looks like we're going back to sort of a more normal BlizzCon this time around with tons of cool panels and things like that, which we will take a look at. So, anyway, opening ceremony happening on the Mythic Stage in Hall D, or the Main Stage, I guess they've called it now.
[01:44] Now, this is obviously where they're going to kind of do broad stroke announcements. So there'll be like a section for Diablo, a section for Warcraft, a section for Overwatch or StarCraft or Heroes of the Storm and things like that. And that's where they're going to be like, hey, you know,
[01:56] Chris Meston will come on stage and be like, look, this is the last Titan. and, you know, someone from the classic team would be like, this is Camelot, or whatever it is, right? And, you know, to kind of give you the rough idea, and then you'll have panels later in the day,
[02:09] which will deep dive into those things, which we'll take a look at. So that's the opening ceremony, that's about an hour and 15 in length, so if we cut across here, we can see that the first panel here is World of Warcraft What's Next.
[02:21] So this is on the main stage as well, so let's join the World of Warcraft team for a first look at the next chapter of Azeroth, with new adventures, features, and surprises for players old and new.
[02:33] Now, I think this is going to be specifically the Classic Plus panel. I think they're going to announce it in the opening ceremony, and then they're going to jump into the What's Next for, you know, a bit more details on what is going on with this kind of new thing that they're bringing out, right?
[02:49] So, because the wording there doesn't really imply kind of retail stuff, as there is another What's Next, which we will take a look at right now. So we will also have some MDI stuff going on.
[03:01] I'm not going to deep dive too much into that. I don't really follow the MDI or anything like that. So yeah there will be kind of eSports going on on the World of Warcraft stages throughout the days So moving on we going to slide across There is a weird very suspicious gap here so maybe a new IP maybe Starcraft or something like that
[03:20] So we do actually have a panel here on the Legends stage, which is Building Cutscenes in World of Warcraft. So this says, Watch Blizzard artists build a World of Warcraft cutscene, tracing the process from storyboards and performance
[03:33] through animation, lighting, and final polish. So this is really cool. I love, love, love, love, love these panels so much. I love hearing the devs talk about what they make and everything like that. That's something we did not have in 2023,
[03:45] so it's going to be very cool to go back to this. And cutscenes specifically are something that have definitely evolved since 2019, when the last time we had a BlizzCon like this. So, yeah, very much looking forward to this panel here.
[03:57] So as we move on, we do get another What's Next? Yeah, so what do we cross at What's Next 2? Electric Boogaloo. So this says, Discover what's ahead for Water Warcraft
[04:09] as the development team previews upcoming adventures, features, and updates. Now, as said, I think this is the more retail, modern game one. It's going to talk about 12.15, 12.17, 12.2, 12.25, 2.7,
[04:22] and Last High End as well. I think they're going to go probably, you know, they probably will talk about the Last High End. I don't think they're going to go super detailed. I think it's going to be broad strokes, maybe looking at Northrend, maybe looking at, you know, different dungeons and things like that
[04:37] that are planning to come back. I don't think we're going to get, like, a super deep story, deep dive into it. But we might. You never know. It is BlizzCon after all. So this one is 45 minutes in length and is on the main stage. So let's move on, and we have another World of Warcraft
[04:51] kind of thing happening here on the Warcraft stage, and this is World of Warcraft Developer X Creator Showcase. This is joint creators and the World of Warcraft developers for live gameplay, conversations, and community fun. So, a few little speculations for this.
[05:05] Number one, I'm not involved in this, so I'm not, like, lying here. I genuinely don't know about this. So, a few things. People are speculating that perhaps it is the Classic Plus thing. So, obviously, a couple months ago, we had a couple of Classic creators head over to Blizzard
[05:20] and have, like, who knows, like a preview or something like that. We don't really know. It was all under NDA. But that is kind of suspicion here, that it could be that. It could be the creators from that talking with the devs about what they're making.
[05:32] The other potential thing is housing. People are saying this might be a housing event. I think we will probably find out a bit more details on what this is before BlizzCon. I would imagine over the next couple of days, we're about a week-ish, like a week and a half away from BlizzCon at this point.
[05:47] I think we probably will get a few more details on this specific thing that's happening at BlizzCon. So, yeah, very interesting. Could be housing. It doesn't seem like there's any other specific housing stuff going on, but housing is obviously a big part of WoW now.
[05:59] So, yeah, it would not surprise me. So moving on for the rest of the day, we only have the community night and then the NDI stuff So not really a ton of other World of Warcraft things happening on day one
[06:13] But yeah very much kind of we're going to learn a lot about what is coming for retail and obviously the classic version of the game So moving on into Sunday September 13th We have the first World of Warcraft panel is here and this is the World of Warcraft Deep Dive So this is a 45 panel
[06:31] It says, go deeper with the World of Warcraft team for a guided look at systems, adventures, and design ideas shaping the next journey through Azeroth. The next journey through Azeroth. Now, that's some interesting wording there.
[06:44] I don't know what particularly that means. This could be, again, a Classic Plus thing, but it could also be retail. But again, it's on the main stage, so it seems pretty important. And I would imagine after day one, we will definitely know what the deep dive will be specifically.
[06:59] So yeah, that's the kind of first thing in day two. Shortly afterwards, we do have World of Warcraft, Crafting, Coziness, and Creative Freedom. It says, World of Warcraft designers share how they create warm, expressive player homes
[07:12] through layouts, decor, customization, and small details that make a space feel personal. So yes, this is a player housing panel. This is another 45-minute panel, so yeah, they're just going to kind of...
[07:24] Presumably, it's going to be some of the housing team talking about player housing and kind of showing off some of the stuff that they've created there. Yeah, again, if you're into player housing, this is going to be an awesome panel, of course, and that will be on the Legends stage as well.
[07:37] All the while, there will be AWC stuff going on as well if you're into that kind of thing. moving on shortly after we do have world building in world of warcraft so this is my favorite panel from 2019 i absolutely love this kind of stuff this is going to be the absolute highlight of
[07:53] this one for me so this is join world builders from world of warcraft development teams as they unpack the craft of building memorable worlds from cultures and geography to visual language history and details that make a setting feel lived in again last time we did this they had
[08:09] like, wow-ed it open, and they were kind of going through different zones and taking a look at the deep dive of that, I thought it was frickin' amazing, I absolutely loved it, so, yeah, this panel is gonna be fantastic, and I'm very much looking forward to that
[08:22] one. So, as said, more AWC going on, Overwatch, Hearthstone, etc., we do have another Warcraft panel here on the World of Warcraft stage, and this is World of Warcraft Art Design.
[08:34] So, it says, see how World of Warcraft artists enhance familiar landscapes while preserving the spirit of Azeroth. Hmm. Now, a couple of layers to this. Familiar landscapes could be
[08:47] Quilthalas, obviously, in the most recent Midnight, and then obviously Northrend in the last Titan, very much probably is that. But, if you really want to get your speculation hat on, they could be talking about a classic plus, they could be talking
[08:59] about expanding zones that already exist in the classic environment, and talking about how you kind of have to fit into that visual language of a game from 2004 compared to World of Warcraft in 2026 with the different
[09:13] kind of art styles of sorts, you know what I mean, with different graphical limitations and things of that nature. So, yeah, again, a very, very cool panel, 45 minutes there on the World of Warcraft stage. So, moving on, we do have another one here on the main stage for World of Warcraft Design
[09:31] Deep Dive. It says join developers of World of Warcraft as they give a closer look at the design process which sounds very similar to the other panels so I not really sure what this is going to be I guess designing is broad strokes here with the game so it could be literally anything
[09:46] systems, world, classes, dungeons, raids, anything like that. Again, going to be an absolute killer panel. I'm very much looking forward to a deep dive on design of World of Warcraft. This stuff really interests me, and I'd love to see more of it. So yeah, very
[10:01] cool to see that on the main stage of BlizzCon on the Sunday there, so scooting along with the trophy ceremony, the AWC, the Voices of Blizzard panel, which again, there was actually a Voices of Blizzard panel in 2019, which had the voice actress of the Tell, Make It
[10:16] to Water thing, which was fantastic, and that was a great panel, I don't know if this specifically is going to go into WoW stuff, I would imagine it would have some WoW characters there, or some voice actors and actresses there for it, but yeah, very much a cool panel to go
[10:29] to if you are watching online or in person. We do also have this very interesting panel here on the World of Warcraft stage, and this is World of Warcraft Hardcore, what's next?
[10:42] So this is join World of Warcraft developers for a discussion of hardcore design, community stories, hard-earned lessons, and surviving Azeroth with one life. I did not expect Hardcore WoW to get an entire 45-minute panel on the World of Warcraft stage. I don't know what
[10:58] else they're going to talk about. Maybe there is something coming for Hardcore, perhaps its own, you know, game that you can download or whatever. I don't know what's next for Hardcore. Obviously, we're going to find out. Very interested in finding out more about that. Perhaps something
[11:13] in, like, the previous panels will kind of hint towards what is coming for Hardcore, and then in this panel, they're going to kind of deep dive into whatever that is. So, very interesting to see that. Did not expect it at all. We do have the Grand Finals of the
[11:26] AWC Championship match there, and then the closing remarks and the final Le Seraphim live performance, who did perform in 2023 as well, which is, yeah,
[11:38] it is certainly one of the performances of all time. Not quite my type of music, but, you know, I'll go see it. Why not? I'm in the area. And that's kind of it. That is BlizzCon 2023. Now, there are a ton of different gaps and things like that in this schedule.
[11:51] There is no doubt in my mind that whatever they announce, be it, you know, something new for WoW, something new for another kind of Blizzard property, we are going to definitely see some kind of extra panels being thrown in there. Yeah, that's happened historically,
[12:04] and it's going to probably happen again. So, yeah, there you go. BlizzCon 2026. I'm very much looking forward to it. As said, if you are there, come say hi. I'll be there wandering around. I'll be IRL streaming. I don't know what else I'm doing at BlizzCon.
[12:17] I'll be doing other stuff, I would imagine. Hopefully interviews with the developers to talk about some of the new products and things that are coming out for WoW. So, guys, thank you very much for watching. If you did like this video, please do leave a like on it and subscribe to the channel if you haven't already.
