AI Summary
Patch 12.0.5 introduces the Void Forge, a new system for acquiring Myth-track gear via Void Cores, alongside new content like Void Assaults, Ritual Sites, and minigames. This guide explains how to maximize Void Core efficiency, avoid bugs, and prioritize activities for optimal progression.
Chapters
New content includes the Void Forge, Void Assaults, Ritual Sites, and minigames. Void Forge offers two pieces of Mistrack gear per week, with potential for more. Bugs can hinder progress and waste Void Core bonus rolls.
Pick up the last Voidcore Shard quest from Decimus in Voidstorm. Complete it via a quick LFR wing or Bountiful Delves. This unlocks the Void Forge, allowing weekly purchase of two Nebulous Voidcores.
After completing the quest, buy two Nebulous Voidcores per week from Decimus for 5,000 gold, 2,000 Voidlight Marl, or 80 Veteran Dawncrests. The Void Forge unlocks account-wide, and the seasonal cap allows catch-up.
Buy an extra Nebulous Voidcore from the Tokens of Merit vendor next to the Great Vault for six tokens. You can earn up to six tokens per week if you have three or more vault rewards, allowing one extra Voidcore weekly.
Use Void Cores in Mythic+ dungeons for Myth-track gear. Lower content (Delves, Heroic raids) caps at Hero track. Mythic+ 10s are easier than Heroic raids and yield Myth gear, making them the optimal choice.
Avoid using Void Cores on Hero gear; save them for Mythic+ 10s to maximize Myth-track drops. Accumulating Void Cores over weeks allows multiple Myth gear rolls at once.
Bonus rolls remove items from the loot table until all are obtained, guaranteeing eventual drops. Prioritize dungeons with the most upgrades for your spec, and use the Catalyst to adjust stats.
Swap loot spec to remove unwanted items from the drop table, increasing chances for desired gear. Example: switching from Retribution to Protection removes a bad DPS trinket, improving odds for the Gate of the Alms trinket.
WoWhead guides list priority items but assume Mythic raiding; adapt to your content. Taking Tokens of Merit from the vault is often better than bad gear, enabling extra Voidcores.
Bug 1: Decimus may give only one Voidcore if you buy from vault vendor first. Bug 2: Duplicate items can drop from bonus rolls, wasting Voidcores. Hold off on rolling until fixed.
After Voidforge, start the Ascendant Millhammer project, a four-week quest to collect items from dungeons, raids, or delves, allowing further gear upgrades.
Pick up the 'Voyage Strike' quest in Silvermoon. Complete Void Assaults (weekly rotation) and Ritual Sites (five tiers, optional challenges) to earn Field Accolades for Champion and Hero gear.
Decor Duels (hide-and-seek) and Abyssal Anglers (diving) offer fun rewards. Check WoWhead for class changes and adjust rotations.
Prioritize completing the Voidforge and using Void Cores in Mythic+ 10s for Myth-track gear, while saving cores until the duplicate bug is fixed. Engage with new content like Void Assaults and Ritual Sites for additional gear and rewards.

[00:00] Hey folks, this is Kalani. Patch 1205 is finally here, bringing us a bunch of new content and a lot of new ways to gear up. The Void Forge lets you get two pieces of Mistrack gear per week,
[00:12] with some chances to get even more. The Void Assaults and Ritual Sights let you farm Champion and Hero gear faster than ever before. There are some fun new game modes to check out, and there are quite a few bugs
[00:24] in this patch that can seriously hinder your progress and make you waste Void Core bonus rolls. So let's go over the new content in patch 1205, how to make the most of your Voidcore bonus rolls, what pesky bugs you're definitely going to want to avoid, and what we would recommend you get done first.
[00:41] Now before we jump in, be sure to hit that like button and subscribe so you never miss another video. The first thing you want to do is complete the Voidforge. Pop by Voidstorm and pick up your last elementary Voidcore Shard quest from Decimus.
[00:56] The fastest way to complete this quest would either be to do a quick clear through a three-boss LFR wing, like the first wing of the Void Spire Raid, or clearing through some Bountiful Delves. But the most important thing is to pick this up before you head out and do any of this content, otherwise you're just delaying your Voidforge completion, which means delaying getting your hands on some very shiny free loot.
[01:19] If you haven't been completing these Voidforge quests every week, you may have a bit of catching up to do, so just complete those quests until you get to 6 or 6 on the Voidforge counter.
[01:31] Hand that quest back in, and your Voidforge will finally be completed. You'll now be able to pick up two Nebulous Voidcores per week from Decimus by trading in 5,000 gold, 2,000 Voidlight Marl, or 80 Veteran Dawncrests.
[01:46] If you don't need the Dawncrest to upgrade your gear anymore, I would probably use those, but it's going to be up to you. The Void Forge does unlock for all of your characters, so after finishing the quest, you'll be able to pick up two Void Cores on every single alt you have up at max level.
[02:02] Now, the Void Core cap is a seasonal cap that increases by two per week, so if you swap characters later on, or you want to pick up an alt later on down the line, or maybe you're just late to the party, you'll be able to catch up immediately and buy up to the current seasonal cap all at once,
[02:19] so you won't ever get left behind with this feature. Now, there is a way to pick up a third Nebulous Voidcore every week, but it does require a bit of setup and some bad luck. You can buy an extra Nebulous Voidcore that does not count your weekly limit from the Tokens of Merit vendor next to the Great Vault.
[02:37] Whenever you open the vault and you don't have any good items to choose from, you can take the token of merit currency down at the bottom. You can get up to six tokens per week if you have three or more rewards to choose from,
[02:49] and the void core will cost you six tokens. So you can only ever get one extra per week, but at least that gives you another chance to get an upgrade if your weekly vault ended up being full of garbage.
[03:01] So now that you have some void cores in hand, what should you spend them on? What items should you be rolling for? Well, that's going to depend entirely on what kind of content you like to take part in,
[03:13] but I will say that the best place to use your Void Cores is probably in Mythic plus Dungeons. If you use them in Prey or Dells, you'll only get up to Champion gear if I understand it, because that's the highest gear track you can get from that content normally.
[03:27] If the Void Cores work for Hero gear in Tier 11 Dells after you reach Rank 9 on the Renown track that is a bit better but you still be capped at hero track which isn ideal If you use the void cores in the raid you get gear
[03:41] from the difficulty that you're on so if you don't raid mythic you won't ever see myth gear from bonus rolls in raids. But if you do mythic plus dungeons you get rewards based on the weekly vault
[03:53] item level for those keys which means completing plus 10 keys or above and using a void core bonus role will give you Myth Gear. So you can only get Myth Gear from these bonus roles by doing
[04:05] Mythic Raids or clearing Mythic Plus 10 dungeons or higher, and Mythic Plus will always be significantly easier. Honestly, I think Mythic Plus 10s are even easier than Heroic Raids, so if you want to maximise your gearing potential, you should aim to only use Void Cores in a
[04:20] situation that yields Myth Track Gear, which for most players will only realistically be Mythic+. Now, you can use your Void Cores on lower gear tracks if you want to, but with how easy Hero
[04:32] Gear is going to be to obtain in patch 1205, I would actually encourage you to save your Void Cores instead of burning them on Hero Gear. Even if it takes you a few weeks to work up to clearing Mythic++ dungeons, if you save your Void Cores each week, you could have four, six, or even eight
[04:50] Void Core to use at that point, which means that many pieces of Mist Gear just waiting to be rolled on. With the way things are currently set up, I really don't think it's worth using a Void Core on anything lower than Mist Track Gear, but this will ultimately boil down to
[05:05] what content you are comfortable completing. Now, when you use a bonus roll, you can get any item from that Bosses, Dungeons, or Activities loot table. When you get an item, that piece of gear will be removed from the loot table
[05:18] for that difficulty for future bonus rolls until you've gotten every item. This means if you really need a specific item, like a trinket, you will eventually get it if you keep rolling on the same dungeon or boss.
[05:30] So if we're using our void course in dungeons primarily, you want to look for the dungeons that have the most upgrades for you. Getting more pieces of myth track gear will be more impactful than getting one best-in-slot myth item,
[05:42] especially if it takes you five rolls to get it. Just take a peek through the seasonal dungeons and their loot tables and look for the ones with the most items that you're going to need. Remember that you can always use the catalyst to change the stats on your gear and turn gear into set pieces,
[05:58] so sometimes the actual stats an item drops with doesn't matter quite as much as you might think. Now, one pretty huge tip you can use to narrow down your choices a bit further is to swap your loot spec.
[06:11] Certain items will only drop for DPS, tanks or healers and you can swap your loot spec around to remove unwanted items from the drop table. It's actually super easy to see this in action if you open up your dungeon journal, pick a boss fight or dungeon and swap the spec up at the top.
[06:29] You can see that if we head into the Dream Rift raid, I can swap my loot spec from Retribution to Protection to remove the bad DPS trinket from the loot table, which means I would never see that item while using a void core bonus roll, giving you a higher chance to get an item you want,
[06:45] like the Gate of the Alms here trinket, and reducing the number of rolls you would need to guarantee that item drop. It's also worth noting that most WoWhead guides have now been updated to give you a list of items to prioritize first with your void cores,
[07:00] but those guides do assume that you doing every kind of content including mythic raids so just keep that in mind If they tell you to roll on Raid Trinket first and you not clearing the raid on Nithic or even at all
[07:12] that's not really going to be relevant to you, but it's still worth checking to see if any dungeons are particularly valuable for your class or spec. Something else to be very careful with is your weekly vault, because you can now trade
[07:25] in the Token of Merit Constellation currency for additional nebulous void cores. Each void core costs six tokens, which is your weekly maximum, but these void cores don't count to your weekly limit, so you can actually get three void cores per week if your vault
[07:40] ends up being bad. So taking the tokens as merit is almost always going to be better than taking a piece of healing gear or a bad piece of myth gear, and this makes it even more valuable to get at least three weekly vault rewards every single week. You can also
[07:54] get three easy rewards on your alts and let them stockpile even more nebulous void cores when you get around to gearing them properly. Now, unfortunately, there are a few bugs for this system that you should be aware of.
[08:08] First off, Decimus might only give you one Void Core instead of two if you buy one from the weekly vault vendor before getting your Void Cores from Decimus. So just make sure you always get your Void Cores from Decimus first every single week.
[08:22] And then the second major bug is actually really bad. There have been a lot of reports on the forums and on Reddit from players receiving the same item when using their Voidcore bonus rolls. The way the system is supposed to work is that you can't roll a duplicate item
[08:36] until you've earned them all from that difficulty. So if you go into a Mythic plus ten Winds on a Spider, and you roll on a boss and get the Heart of Wind trinket, and then do it again and get the Heart of Wind trinket again,
[08:48] that's not how it's supposed to work. So evidently, that part of the system is not working correctly. So for right now, you can actually get duplicate items, which would make some of your Void Core rules completely worthless.
[09:01] Getting the same trinket twice, or really anything twice, isn't going to be useful at all, so until we have confirmation that this book specifically has been fixed, I would maybe hold off on using your bonus rolls.
[09:15] Now, with the Void Forge completed, you can also start working on Decimus' new project, the Ascendant Millhammer. This will allow you to upgrade your gear even further, but it is going to take a while for Decimus to build it.
[09:28] Another four weeks, to be exact, and you'll have the same kind of quest to collect three things each week from dungeons, raids, or delves. So it's basically building the Voidforge again, but for a different reward, and this time it's four weeks instead of six.
[09:41] So pick that quest up before you head out, and make sure you keep up with it every week. After all of that's taken care of, you can check out some of the new content options in patch 1205. You should see a purple important quest in Silvermoon called Voyage Strike.
[09:56] Head on over there and pick that quest up. That's going to ask you to investigate a Voyage Strike, which are the smaller assaults going on in the Eversun Woods and Zul'aman zones. Only one zone will have assaults per week, and they'll rotate as the weeks go by.
[10:10] So go find a Voyage Strike and complete it. Now you may be tempted to stay out here, finishing a few Void Strikes and farming some Field Accolades, but I would encourage you to head back and hand that quest in as soon as you
[10:22] clear your first Void Strike. It will lead into a few other quests which unlock more content, and you'll actually get a weekly quest to complete more Void Strikes, so it's better to pick that up first in my opinion.
[10:35] These quests will also lead you to the other new content type in this patch Ritual Sites You be asked to investigate a Ritual Site which you can also find on your map and these will always be in the zone that doesn currently have Void Invasions So if the Void Strikes
[10:50] are in Eversong, the Ritual Site will be in Zul'Aman, and vice versa. Head on over to the mark on your map, and you'll find an obelisk that you can interact with. Ritual Sites have five tiers of difficulty, and a bunch of optional challenges that you
[11:03] can add to increase your rewards and keep you on your toes. You start with tiers 1 and 2, and to unlock the higher ones you need to complete the tier below it. I would do your first ritual fight on tier 2 so you can unlock tier 3 and really get the ball rolling.
[11:18] Once again, I would head back to Silvermoon to hand in your quest after you complete your first ritual fight, as that's going to open up a bunch of other quests that let you unlock the various challenges to increase your rewards if you do want to go far and field accolades,
[11:31] as well as more quests to complete more ritual sites. After you pick up all those quests, you can head back into the ritual sites and farm field accolades to your heart's content. Now, the vendors to trade in your field accolades are right next to the quest givers,
[11:46] and 75 field accolades will buy you a piece of champion gear, and 500 will buy you a piece of hero gear. You can also trade in your dark particles for more field accolades, and you'll be looting these from any mob that you kill inside Void Assaults or Ritual Sites.
[12:02] If you want to take a break from the field accolade farming, you can jump into the fun new game mode called Decor Duels. You can queue for Decor Duels in the PvP Quickmatch menu, and you take turns hiding or seeking, and it's a pretty fun minigame overall.
[12:17] There are a few bugs with this game mode right now, unfortunately. Notably, some players aren't getting any rewards at the end for not participating, which seems odd in a game mode where the goal is to hide and kinda stay still.
[12:29] And then apparently Hunter's humanoid tracking works in this game mode sometimes, which kinda trivialises the whole thing, so hopefully that gets fixed pretty quickly. And then there's also the Abyssal Anglers minigame off the coast of Zul'Aman.
[12:43] There's a purple important quest to pick up over there, so it's super easy to find. This one is another fun-focused activity where you dive under the water water and try to earn as high a score as you can, to upgrade your diver's gear to be able
[12:56] to go for deeper and longer dives and to catch rarer fish for even higher scores. There are plenty of achievements in cosmetic rewards to pick up along the way, so go check that out as well. And then quite a few classes saw some hefty
[13:09] updates with this patch, so I would take a peek at your WoWhead guide to see if anything significant has changed, and get to grips with your new territories and rotations. that's what we would recommend you do first in patch 1205, and how to get the most out
[13:24] of your nebulous void cores. So that's it for this video. What items are you going to be using your bonus rolls on first, or are you going to wait to make sure the bugs are fixed before you go rolling? Leave all your thoughts in the comment section below.
