Driving a Focus RS on an Airport

[04:06] owned. That has the most torque with a 1.9 L.

[04:27] That's like auto brakes four good. When you said auto brakes, I thought Uh in the Boeing 767 we normally use auto brakes three. It's a nice firm braking, but if you're on a short

[04:42] runway, you're putting that on auto brakes four or even auto brakes max, which basically throws everyone in the front of their seats. So Fun stuff. Interesting. I thought most of the braking when an airliner

[04:54] most of the braking when an airliner lands is from reverse thrust. Part of it. Yeah. But still it's all your disc brakes in the wheels, which I know from from you know, shorts and stuff that

[05:07] am I right to say that um the brakes on an airplane, it's not like a brakes on a car that has one brake disc. There are multiple brake discs per wheel. Mm. Yes. per set of wheels, I guess it is.

[05:22] >> Right, yeah. Cuz it's not >> Per landing gear. You're not a Right. >> per strut. Yep. Yeah. I'm going to back mode, and I'm also going to move my cam- my microphone, which I can feel

[05:37] is pressing up against the seat belt. Then if you're comfortable, we'll go past that. I wonder if track mode will only activate if you're on a designated track.

[05:53] It's not giving me track mode. Does it know So So I put it in track use only. I'm not I'm not in gear. I'm like, yeah, track, please.

[06:05] It knows something's up. I need to Google this. Yeah. I'm I'm used to high-turbo stuff from like the '80s that was like raucous, like the A70 Supra, and uh

[06:25] this is completely normal to be to be going that quick. taxiway. We're not on the actual runway. It feels

[06:40] like you're going slower than you are. Because there's no like other traffic that you're just blowing past. And now for the disclaimer. Please do not attempt what we just did.

[06:54] Driving around at an airport. We were permitted to do this because Tony has a very good standing with the crew here and the owner. We weren't doing drifts, and we got

[07:07] nowhere near the flight line. The flight line is the never cross the yellow line from the taxiway where vehicles can drive to the runway where vehicles drive to the runway where vehicles can't. Also, this airport has no control

[07:22] tower. There's no one monitoring what's going on on the taxiway. This does not mean that you can just go to a local airport, drive through the gate, and end

[07:34] up where all the planes are. Do not do that. We were here with permission and on their very good graces. But it was a lovely way to do pull after pull and a full bore brake stop on the RS and it didn't disappoint. And I enjoyed this
