House of the Dragon S3 Episode 5 Breakdown - Game of Thrones Easter Eggs You Missed!

[00:01] Dragon as both the Greens and the Blacks are being pulled into terrible choices and labyrinths with no exits. Welcome back to Screen Crush. I'm Ryan Ary and references, and little things you might have missed in season 3, episode 5 of

[00:13] again a few changes to the opening sequence of this episode. To start, Corus' figure in the tableau of Reneer's Council is only half filled. This is likely meant to represent the way he's still technically her hand, but is not

[00:26] kingdoms. After their argument in Landing to go fight the remnants of the Triarchy. Allison and Helena's figures also get a close-up this time, which is fitting because they have more focus in

[00:39] these two men, one clean shape and with brown hair and one with lighter brown or auburn hair and a beard. Now, we're not entirely sure who these two men are, but our best guess is it's Janos and Tom Tangle Tongue, the two men that Aegon

[00:52] field they're in front of could be the body of Sunfire that the people of Rrook's rest are ekking out a living on top of. If the opening is taking into could also be Lar Strong on the left and Tylen Lannister on the right reunited at

[01:06] Rook's Rest. But usually the opening credits only depict events that have the camp of the Rivermen and the Winter discussing the ways in which Kristen Cole has been hampering their progress,

[01:19] obstructing them with his guerrilla warfare. These three men are Oscar Rody the Ruin, who's leader of the Winter Wolves from the north, and Lord Peter Piper. Now, the Pipers are one of the most important noble houses in the

[01:32] Riverlands. Lord Piper initially bucked at Oscar's leadership because of his Oscar put Damon in his place. >> Mind your tongue, boy. Will you have our >> Oscar orders Lord Piper to take his men to Stony Sept to secure passage across

[01:47] the river. Now, Stony Sept is a town in the Riverlands that is not too far from House Piper's castle at Pink Maiden. So, that's probably why Oscar sends Piper in particular. Based on the location of Stony Sept, this probably means that the

[02:00] Blackwater Rush. This river flows to King's Landing into Blackwater Bay, from Stannis Baratheon ships in Game of Thrones. >> Rody says, >> "They flit of ours like [ __ ] deer

[02:15] endure in the north. >> Now, deer flies are most common in wetlands like the Riverlands, so it makes sense that he's never encountered them in the cold but dry north. This also seems like a debate the two of them

[02:28] have had before. Much like Rob Stark, Oscar Tully is another young lord who's earned the respect of many seasoned warriors with his calm disposition and Cole, ending by saying, >> "Oh, we could play his game." Now,

[02:41] they would stage a gorilla attack on Cole and his men, which they do when they set the crow's feet traps for the Green's horses. But what Oscar actually shot of the episode of the burned bridge. They need to get ahead of Cole

[04:39] suspicious noises. He gets stabbed in the back by Kristen Cole. Now, in Westeros, a knight killing someone like this, especially a venerated knight like that of the King's Guard, is seen as very dishonorable. But, as Cole said

[04:51] >> our fight will not be clean, but it will be pure. He sees this as a noble cause, so he has accepted any means of warfare to achieve his ends. Gane High Tower is also willing to sink to Cole's method since he's setting fire to the tents in

[05:04] Cole have been in an ideological battle since season 2, but it seems like Cole's approach last episode did sway Gane to >> But it is as you said, Swayne, we must cling to our honor lest we'll become

[05:17] >> Gane trusts Cole and does believe that he is to some extent an honorable man. Both of them have dirt or suit smeared on the lines in their faces, a form of medieval camouflage. They quickly leave the camp in disarray and then flee.

[05:30] randos are trying to win Reneer's bounty for killing Aemon. She offered the take down Aemon, and there's lots of people who are willing to try to win the is a haunted wreck. We see the black goat in Harrenhal, and we've seen this a

[05:45] around Alice Rivers and is representative of dark magic and mysterious goings on across the narrow sea in the free city of Kohar. The main god worshiped is the black goat who demands daily blood sacrifice. So even

[05:59] in Westeros, the black goat is still an ill omen. One of the men says slayer. >> Now Aean is now believed to be a kinslayer twice over. He killed his nephew Luke in season 1 and now the

[06:11] brother Aegon. This would also technically make him a king slayer, but I guess Aean the king slayer kins slayer is a bit of a mouthful. Alice calls Rene >> ungrateful queen and owns her bounty. Remember, she told Damon that she wanted

[06:23] to be granted Harrenhal as a boon for giving him his host of rivermen. She is Grover Tally so that Oscar could take over and lead their forces into battle. >> Do nothing now. In 3 days time, the winds will shift.

[06:37] >> But Damon refused and never even brought the idea up with Rene. So instead, Reneer offered Harrenhal as a reward, and Alice isn't happy about it. A recurring motif in this show is often that Reneer is being made to look worse

[06:50] because of the actions of the men around her, especially Damon. She was called cheese into the castle and they killed Jiharis. In last episode, the extreme actions of the Goldcolaks under Lutherant worsened her reputation with

[07:03] the small folk. Now Damon never telling her about Alice's request because he'd already decided to deny it makes Alice think that Rene is ungrateful to her. Alice talks about the people who died to build the castle of Harrenhal under the

[07:15] Cruel. He was one of the kings of Westeros before Aegon's conquest and he ordered the building of the largest castle on the continent. Harrenhal took 40 years to build and thousands of slaves died for his construction. Alice

[07:29] also mentioned last season that Heron cut down the weirwood trees to build the gods. >> Black hadn't felt the grove of weir were trees that grew on these lands. >> It's no wonder that the place is

[07:41] theory last episode that Alice Rivers wasn't a living woman at all, but instead a spirit herself. This has now been disproven, but we think it's not outside the realm of possibility that she is in communication with the spirits

[07:54] them in some way. It also seems like Alice might be tied to the spirit of the Harrenhal, she says, >> "And she's always thirsty." >> And this is very reminiscent of when she was talking about herself in episode

[08:08] two. >> For all their worth, they will never satisfy my hunger. >> We see Aemon dreaming and he hears Aegon screaming and then laughing. He's having visions of Aegon, much the same as Damon

[08:21] had visions of Assirus last season. The castle is making him confront his guilt ambition. >> His face was on fire. No. I saw him. He >> Aemon also immediately lunges for the Valyrian dagger that he took from Aegon.

[08:37] that Viserus once held when he told Reira about the song of ice and fire. >> From my blood come the prince that was promised. almost used to assassinate Bran in Game of Thrones and that Arya eventually used

[08:53] to kill the Night King. Aean says >> she saw it. She said I would die. and he is referring to his sister Helena who in season 2 told him his fate. >> He sits on a wooden throne and you you'll be dead.

[09:07] >> Now Aemon is feeling lost and trapped. Ever since he claimed Vaggar as a child, he has felt untouchable. But now that Reneer has six dragons, everything has the world to feeling like a helpless child. Maybe that's why he keeps turning

[09:20] to mother figures, as he says here. In Fire and Blood, the book the series is adapted from, Aean and Alice Rivers do have a romantic or at least a sexual relationship, but here it seems more like a mother and son. Now, of course,

[09:33] knowing Aean, that doesn't mean there's nothing else going on. We cut to Orwh in the Red Keep as Alice hums a lullaby for Aean, and the music echoes in the Red Keep, perhaps symbolizing the way that Alice's magic

[09:47] reaches farther than anyone knows. A servant in the Red Keep is releasing Allen's suggestion. We saw cats throughout King's Landing in the we've mentioned in our other breakdowns, Arya used to chase cats as part of her

[10:01] training with Serial Forel. And Tom and Baratheon also had a pet kitty himself. >> That's a pounce. >> And I'm just saying it right now. If going to lose it. So, a servant watches Orwh as he passes. And this is one of

[10:14] Misaria's many spies throughout the Red Keep. She might be working for the crown now, but the white worm still keeps a close eye on the comingings and goings manages to talk his way past the guards by using the classic technique of

[10:27] >> I'm not certain how familiar you are with disorders of the um female >> He delivers the moon tea to Allison and Helena. Now, this isn't the first time the tea to Allison after her affair with Kristen Cole in season 2. Now, moon tea

[10:43] to prevent pregnancies, as we saw with Allison, but can also be used to end pregnancies prematurely. In the Game of Thrones books, Lysa Aaron was made to her pregnancy, and it nearly killed her.

[10:56] Allison calls Orw, and he has done quite a lot to help her out. He spoke candidly with her about Viserus in season 2 and also is the one who made it possible for season 2 finale. >> I need passage and your discretion. But

[11:10] Orwhile lets Allison know that this is the end of him sneaking around to help her since he will surely be caught under Reneer's rank. Allison confirms what we >> Agon, >> there was a lot of debate about the

[11:22] Aegon all along. >> Agon, >> she may be a few months along in her pregnancy, and Aegon's injury is only a few months old. So, it's likely that she conceived shortly before he got burned.

[12:29] >> Last season, she visited Damon in his visions at Harrenhal. all a story your part. >> Perhaps she's getting some insight into Aean's visions and dreams there as well. Allison tries to convince and then force

[12:41] Helena to take the moon tea. Now, this may seem cruel, but she's genuinely terrified for her daughter's safety. If Helena is pregnant with the Green's heir, then her life is in danger. Allison wants nothing more than to save

[12:53] her daughter. As she said in episode 1, >> "You I may yet redeem." >> "For your own sake, do not wish to be free." Allison never wanted her children, which is part of the reason she's been a subpar mother. She was in

[13:05] times her age, and it destroyed her life. She resents her children's existence because they took her freedom away from her. One of the reasons she's able to love Helena as much as she does is because she sees her daughter in the

[13:18] same situation she was in, trapped in a political marriage, her opinions and thoughts never considered. But this means that she can't see the ways in which Helena is different from her. Helena genuinely loves her daughter and

[13:30] >> It's my own. It's mine. >> Helena watched her son murdered in front of her and she can't bear the idea of losing another child in any form. young. >> Now, Vaseris ordered Moon Tea to be

[13:44] after she snuck out with Damon. She didn't sleep with Damon, but she did same night. Laris then told Allison about the Moon Tea delivery which made this led to her finding out the truth

[13:58] thing that turned Allison fully away from Rea and led to her wearing high tower green at Reneer's wedding. We then go to Rea who is negotiating with Sabita Frey. Now we saw the phrase in season 2 when Jayce went to go negotiate with him

[14:11] the twins. That's the crossing that is the seat of House Frey. This is the same marriage pact to cross in Game of Thrones in the disastrous deal that ended in the Red Wedding. Jace promised the phrase Harrenhal in exchange for the

[14:24] crossing, but now Rene has offered it up to anyone who kills Aean. Everybody wants Harrenhal and everyone is mad about this. Instead, Reneer has offered Sabitha a seat on her small council to appease her. Lady Frey isn't happy about

[14:36] when to stop arguing with the queen. >> Dumped himself Lord of Harren Horn in the meanwhile. For now, however, I would be pleased to >> Adam and Bao report that a village on the outskirts of Windishtown has been

[14:51] catch a break. In the Song of Ice and Firebooks, Gregor Clegane and his forces destroy Wendishtown and kill all of its people, which is the reason Ned Stark mountain during his brief reign as Hand of the King. Sabitha Frey has sent on

[15:06] Torren Manderly gives her the cliff notes on what's been going on. See snakes's boss and now a dragon rider. >> Lord Dar is our ally. >> Mhm. >> Damon reports trouble in the city, which

[15:18] we'll be seeing a lot more of in this episode, and blames Misaria for it. Every episode now, we're seeing Damon and Misaria clash and squabble. While Rene has a single-minded focus on her own vengeance, Damon brings up the two

[15:30] Bottom. And Torren Manderly says, >> "Has ever been a realm unto itself?" area of King's Landing. And it's also the origin of characters like Dunk from Night of the Seven Kingdoms and Davos, Stannis's right-hand man who started out

[15:43] as a smuggler. Misaria also looks offended when Torren manderly describes the people of Flea Bottom as undesirabs. She herself has lived in the underbelly better than Torren the kind of desperation that drives the people who

[15:55] live there. Damon undermines Reneer in her council by refusing her order to go to the Riverlands to look for Vagar and then walks out of the council after this disagreement. She follows him and says, >> "But my voice must again compete with

[16:07] >> And this is an issue the two of them had in late season 1 and early season two where Damon kept acting without Rene's permission. After he knelt to her in the season 2 finale, it seemed like he was finally ready to submit to her, but he's

[16:19] still bucking under her leadership. Damon blames Rene for the murders of the >> "Will you let yourself be rattled by vapid taunts by the painting of stripes on town?" After Olf prodded her insecurities last episode, Reneer sent

[16:31] responsible for the graffiti, calling her queen of bastards. But because of worse with the small folk than the graffiti ever would have. Damon wasn't wrong that her response was unnecessary. But Rene wants so badly to be liked by

[16:46] her people that it is driving her to desperation. Alinda, Rene's lady in that her son Joffrey has returned from the veil. Alinda has been a loyal member of Reneer's court since Dragonstone, and she returned to King's Landing last

[17:00] season on Misaria's orders to hunt down Targaryen bastards to ride Rea's dragons. Rene is visibly uncomfortable with the idea of seeing her son. She is his two older brothers that Rea is

[17:12] looking at her children without imagining their deaths. She also blames knows that it was her pursuit of the throne that led to them dying. Then we Leris is trying to talk some sense into him. Aegon asks which way is west and

[17:27] >> I have no idea. >> Aegon expects Laris to know everything and to do everything for him. Even though Laris himself is a noble without much experience outside of castles. Laris is a smart guy, but he can't know

[17:39] SHOUTS, >> "STOP TELLING ME WHAT I CAN'T DO." Aegon this season, but this is the closest to what he is truly feeling. Aegon is used to being a fit young man, a warrior, and a king. But now he feels

[17:53] helpless. Even as Larish tries to help him find a new purpose, he can't accept what he's lost, and he needs someone to blame. Back at the Red Keep, Misaria presumably that maid servant we saw earlier informed her of Warw's visit to

[18:06] the queens. Allison tries to claim that the moon is a headache remedy for it. She used to work in a brothel, so she's very familiar with moon tea. So instead, Allison gives her a little bit of truth. I took a lover after Visaris.

[18:20] >> She drinks the moon tea herself to cover for her daughter and Misaria asks, both?" >> This question shows that she knows exactly who Allison's lover was. Kristen Cole was a common knight, elevated to

[18:33] and then named Han. He's the only man in the green court who is both a commoner and a lord. Allison appeals to Misaria's sympathies as a woman, which Misaria can understand. She has also experienced a pregnancy that she didn't want when she

[18:46] she was a child. He tried to kill her and left her for dead and this was just Then Allison says, >> "I am her prisoner as you were once if >> In season 2, Misaria was discovered as a stowaway when she tried to flee Westeros

[19:01] and then was imprisoned on Dragonstone. Damon promised to free her in exchange for information, but then abandoned her instead. It was only because Reneer once again given her freedom. but she does know the fear of being a prisoner.

[19:14] where Kristen Cole's host is making their way towards the Stony Sept. Now, Gane reminisces about the High Tower in Oldtown and his childhood there. He talks about Orman saying, >> "He was a thin skinned twaty man."

[19:27] not getting along last episode. >> When we were young, Wayne thought him >> Dwine is trying to give Kristen something to live for. He values his how hopeless he is, especially given that Cole keeps leading them into

[19:41] increasingly dangerous missions. Kristen has a death wish and Gane wants to save episode, >> "There is no home for one like me." >> Gane is trying to prove him wrong by offering him a new home, a place in

[19:54] Oldtown with the high towers. So before Kristen can respond, their horses start placed crows feet, which is a medieval name for what we call cow trips, on the ground. These were designed to be anti-avalry weapons, but are still used

[20:07] in the modern day to puncture tires. The men have no choice but to kill these progress even further. Most of these knights were the high tower sigil, but the crown lands. Here we go back to Allison and the Red Keep who is holding

[20:21] looking ill. We learned from Orwh last season that moon tea has a very adverse Allison herself experienced these same side effects. She removes her necklace faith on it. She has been wearing the symbol of the faith prominently since

[20:37] initially we thought that her taking off the necklace was a sign of her questioning her faith, but instead she has a more practical purpose in mind. We Allison is still wearing her wedding ring. She still has loyalty to Viserus

[20:51] even after his death. Next, we go to Damon and Luther Larent. Now Damon last episode, but he says >> was well schooled in those manners. Was >> Damon himself responded to the crimes of King's Landing with extreme force when

[21:05] Viserus having to give him a warning. >> Any further performances like last >> They uncover the bodies of more gold cloaks and this little girl is spying on them. She reminded us of the network of little birds that Varys controlled. This

[21:19] to the master of whisperers. These are the same kids who ended up killing Maester Pycel on the orders of Kyburn. Now, this little bird reports her heterocchromia. You might recognize him from episode 2 this season. He was one

[21:33] talked into standing down from the battlements and allowing Reneer into the city. It seems like this didn't sit well with this man and his compatriots who are now working for Orant High Tower to upset things in the city. Now, we have a

[21:45] with the Faceless Men, the Order of Assassins from the House of Black and guard's two different colored eyes are meant to represent the black and white of the manyfaced god that these assassins worship. These killings seem

[21:59] to be done highly professionally and for pay, which tracks with what we know Orand orders John Roxton to >> fell every tree from here to >> because they need more lumber. Now, this couldn't help but remind us of Sauran

[22:12] of Fangghorn. >> The forest of Fangorn lies on our doorstep. Burn it. If this comparison is intentional, it doesn't spell good news for Orund. Darren off-handedly complains about his studies being dry, but he

[22:26] Orman's reaction. >> Dry, did you say? Ormond holds such studies in high regard. >> He sees himself as a scholar. He studies the histories.

[22:39] >> Darren mentions high tower conflicts with House Greyjoy, Peak, Osgrey, let's quickly go through each of those. House Greyjoy rules the Iron Islands and it's Theon's home from Game of Thrones. The Greyjoys are a lot less honorable

[22:52] noble houses of Westeros and they're basically more akin to pirates. We've actually appear. >> We could offer the title to the young >> The conflict with the high towers that Darren is probably learning about here

[23:06] happened before Aegon's conquest when according to the world of ice and fire, King Theon III Greyjoy was killed by a high tower in Oldtown. Next is House Peak. They are an ancient house of the reach and historical enemies of House

[23:19] Manderly. The house that the master of coin Torren Manderly is part of. There's Peak and High Tower that I could find, but there was a war for succession over the throne of the Reach before Aegon's conquest. Houses Peak and Manderly were

[23:32] specifically mention which side House High Tower took. Perhaps this show the Manderlys against the Peaks. Fire and blood readers will also probably remember the name Unwin Peak, but he has not appeared yet in this show. House

[23:46] again without a specific conflict with the High Towers, but they might have Civil War. House Gardener were the former kings of the Reach before their who replaced this ruling house with the

[24:00] we know Marjorie and Loris Tyrell from Lady Elena. >> Tell Cersei, I wanted to know it was me. House Gardener on the field of fire, so their line was fully extinguished. And

[24:14] sequence of this show. And the Manderly reestablishing a gardener on the throne of the Reach. Finally, he mentions House from Game of Thrones when we saw Ned Stark do battle with Kingsg Guard member

[24:27] Arthur Dayne or the Sword of the Morning in one of Bran's visions. During the first Dornish War, when Aegon was attempting to conquer Dorne, Sir Joffrey Dayne burned the lands outside of Oldtown. Orund questions,

[24:39] >> Maria Martell. Now, Maria Martell is a quite famous figure in the tales of Aegon's conquest as Orman describes. Later members of House Martell include Rhaegar Targaryen in Game of Thrones, and her brother, the Red Viper, Ober and

[24:53] you're deadly, right? >> As he tells Darren about Mia, the two of them play a chesslike game called Seass, which originates in the free cities. George R. Barton has not figured out exactly how Sevass works himself, but we

[25:05] powerful piece in the game, and the goal of the game is to take down the king. relevant to this period in Targaryen history. The story of Maria Martell is also important because of the connection that we can draw to current events. One

[25:19] possible connection is to Sir Kristen Cole. Cole is doing much of the same tactics as Maria Martell, hiding, lying, and wait, and biting his time, and then engaging in underhanded tactics. Orman mentions the Martell house words,

[25:31] >> "Unbow bowed. Unbent." >> And Cole also echoes this later in the >> Just like Maria and Martell, Cole refuses to back down or surrender, no matter how far outmatched he seems to be. It's also the same kind of tactics

[25:44] that Orand is using in King's Landing to undermine Rene by using assassins to attack the Goldcloaks and weaken her reign. Orman finishes by saying, >> "And Dorne remains unbroken even today." Now, Dorne would never be successfully

[25:57] multiple attempts. It was only eventually brought into the Seven Kingdoms by a marriage pack when King Darren the Good married Mariah Martell Targaryen from Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Darren wins the game by using

[26:11] the dragon piece, which enrages Ormand. Orman doesn't like the reminder that no matter how clever he is, he can't win against the Targaryen dragons. And this is also a reminder that Darren himself is a Targaryen with a dragon, no matter

[26:24] how much Orman has tried to cleanse him. Darren tries to diffuse the tension with Orman, but it doesn't work. Orman's facade cracks and he knocks all the quickly and tries to frame his anger as being irritation with Darren for

[26:37] >> Never apologize for victory. >> But it's clear that his anger started after he lost before Darren apologized. Much like last episode, it's clear that Darren has firsthand experience of being the recipient of Orman's rage. Orman

[26:51] made with Darren's face, wearing the crown of Aegon the Conqueror. Now, at currency of the realm is the gold dragon, which always bears the face of the king. By minting these coins with Darren's face, this is another step that

[27:04] Orand is taking to legitimizing Darren as the true king of Westeros. We go back gardens with her daughter Jihara, showing her a caterpillar. Now she warns Jihara not to touch the bug, saying, >> "But that would be death for you or me."

[27:17] notes about a poisonous butterfly called an Allison, which kills everything around it. Now, we noted then that the butterflyy's name is quite similar to Allison, perhaps spelling doom for everybody close to Allison herself, but

[27:30] George RR Martin said about the toxic butterflies in his blog post, complaining about changes from Fire and Blood in this adaptation. He argued that small changes the show has made will spiral into disastrous narrative

[27:43] consequences. One of the changes was the elimination of Helena's youngest son, Mor, who was already born by this point in time. But as this season has shown, Mor may yet be on the way. Allison wants to persuade Helena to escape the Red

[30:05] assume that the opening credits are her work, but perhaps Alice has a hand in this storytelling as well. Aemon cries to Alice about how Aegon tormented him >> I woripped him. >> Now this is all true. We saw Aegon

[30:17] were kids. >> Behold the pink dread. >> But it's hard to have too much sympathy for Aean here. As Allison asked, "Have yet sufficiently been avenged?" >> A has either killed or attempted to kill

[31:27] really needed to hear this. Only through acknowledging what he is can Aegon begin >> You are a terrible man. >> Now, we've had a lot of discussions especially when this is how he feels about him. But Aegon is Leris's last

[31:43] chance to claim power. Rene hates him for joining the Greens. And Aean hates just flattering him to improve his own station. The only one who listened to Laris was Aegon. So he needs to make Aegon king again so he can return to his

[31:56] >> I should be glad of your talents. You only make your grace. >> We go to Rea in the King's Landing set. Now, she's been here a few times, but only accompanied by Alice. In season 1, Allison took her here to help her mourn

[32:08] her mother after she died in childbirth. And then in season 2, Rea snuck in to try to reach an understanding with her old friend. Now for the first time, she is here on her own accord. Ever since Adam appeared to her on Seasmoke, Rene

[32:20] has believed that she has been divinely ordained for the throne. So she is looking for answers in religion really for the first time. Damon speaks to her be overheard. how this has always been how the two of them spoke privately to

[32:33] how the two of them spoke privately to one another. >> And Rene is unsettled by the news of the Goldcloak's deaths. She says,

[33:26] alive. Now, in the book, Thailand was still at the Green Court when Reira took imprisoned. But here, he's fairing better. And just a reminder, Tailand and Jason Lannister were twins. It's Jason who the Winter Wolves beheaded. So now,

[33:40] Tylen, the second son, is now Lord of Casterly Rock. Back in their chambers, maids. Now, the maid that Allison gave her necklace to tries to lead them to >> "You said the nurse would meet us with Jihara." Now, they're immediately caught

[33:54] by Misaria, so we don't actually know if this was going to happen, but I suspect into leaving without her daughter to save her life. Allison talks Msaria into hiding Helena's pregnancy from Reneer temporarily. She plays on Misaria's

[34:07] rivalry with Damon, arguing that the only one that Rene will stick by is her >> They've ever been two sides of a coin. >> And Rene has said the very same thing about Damon to Misaria. >> They were halves of a whole. Misaria

[34:19] affections with Damon and she fears losing like earlier in this episode when husband. >> You grace. >> Allison is showing her charismatic side this season, manipulating the people

[34:32] around her expertly to keep herself and Helena safe. Now once again back in the Riverlands, Cole finds Vagar's footprint. Now we really don't know what this dragon is up to without Aean. She seems to be wandering wild, just hunting

[34:44] Throughout this episode, Gane and Cole have been hacking their way through the underbrush, and now they're set upon by leeches. At this point, Cole's pretty at Harrenhal, another group of men come to find Aean, climbing up the castle's

[34:58] weirwood tree. Now, this is the same tree where Damon first met Alice and of ice and fire in the season 2 finale. One man attacks Alice and says, >> That means that these guys are Iron Islanders. Salt wives is what they call

[35:12] women who they capture and force into sexual slavery. whereas their rock wife is an Ironborn woman that they actually married. Aean quickly takes these goons down and Alice seems pleased. This is the first time someone has actually

[35:24] work for her interest last season, but this season he dismissed her. Now instead, she's turning to Aean to see if she can get what she wants through him. watching Aegonis tells the master of the camp, Janos, his suspicions. Now Janos

[35:38] goes searching through Aegon's things to confirm the theory and finds his crown, Remember, Rene wears Jiharis Consiliator's crown instead, the same Thailand argues against going to Braavos, speaking in horror about its

[35:52] >> He got along pretty well with the Triarchy last season, but I guess being to have that effect on a guy. He says he shared everything with them and then inkling about what he might be referring

[36:06] >> I want you to [ __ ] my wives. >> Janos confronts Aegon with the crown. look to other people to fix his problems. Instead, he swiftly kills Janos to prevent him from speaking. Now, this is a violent act, but it shows

[36:19] power back. >> You will call me your grace. >> After he says this, some notes of the Green's musical theme creep into the music track. This is the same motif that played when

[36:33] the green dress, and it shows the Greens clawing their way back to the top. Damon speech, which is against Luther Largeant's advice from earlier in the episode, but largent was wrong. Damon does inspire them and keeps them loyal

[36:47] them double pay, which you know doesn't hurt. He says, >> "The seven kingdoms become nine," >> which feels like a reference to the >> There are nine kingdoms, sir. >> Damon and Larent torture an agent to the

[37:00] high towers who has Darren's gold dragon. The man claims that he worked true. It's possible that he was one of the assassins, but he might also be a pathy to cover for the real killers. Cole and Gane finally make their way to

[37:13] the bridge at Stony Sept, but they're too late. Gane tries to talk him into is determined to face the Riverlords and head-on battle, no matter the cost. Gane sees in this moment that Kristen Cole has absolutely no intention of surviving

[37:27] not just defeat. >> And they will sing songs of it, and wants to be a knight of old with his beautiful maiden at home, mourning his noble sacrifice. But what he actually is is a pathetic wreck of a man, but he

[37:42] speech to his men, and I'm not going to lie, I was expecting one of them to his speech does move them, and they head to battle with the rivermen. Dwayne, Kristen behind. Now, at the Red Keep, Helena and Allison discover a secret

[37:57] passage out of their chambers behind a painting of a dragon, but instead they end up stuck. The passage is blocked and Helena drops their lantern when she's startled. They are trapped and alone in the dark. And in the final horror of the

[38:09] episode, Damon uncovers a feast for traitors. Eight more goldc cloaks have been brutally murdered and posed in a horrific Last Supper scene, and among Larent. In the book, Larent is killed during a riot in the city, but this is

[38:23] definitely a worse way to go. Now, this is an echo of a scene from the book where Kristen Cole's host comes across a gruesome feast staged by the rivermen feed and posed them to intimidate Sir Kristen's army. This isn't quite the end

[38:36] to avoid saying more in case they utilize more of this plot line in the show. A feast for traitors is also a clear reference to A Feast for Crows, the fourth novel in the Song of Ice and Fire series. And Kristen concludes by
