House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 6 Breakdown & Ending Explained | Game of Thrones Easter Eggs

[00:02] your host, Paul. In this video, we're breaking down House of the Dragon. lot of things to talk about. If you play golf, then you've heard of a hole in

[00:16] one. If you play The Last of Us, then you've heard of a Joel in one. And if you watch House of the Dragon, we've got a coal in one. Yes, the episode starts things off in a big big way. and we say goodbye to one of our most beloved

[00:30] chess pieces moving about and some big But is the show spinning its wheels a bit? Well, in this breakdown, that's exactly what I want to talk about. And as always, we start with the tapestries.

[00:43] already had, but it looks like they're building up certain elements. We once more have the two figures tearing things apart, which is normally when we transition to the logo. Here though we see two men pulling someone apart by the

[00:55] arms which represents a destruction of the goldc cloaks. Also thought it might where we go to next. In the village commons across elms another of the ghastly feasts was found. Familiar with such sites by now. Sir Christristine's

[01:08] outr rididers grimaced and rode past paying no heed to the rotting dead until the corpses sprang up and fell upon them. That's exactly what we get here he reunites with his men to descend upon a Tully camp.

[01:21] >> It's a trap. The soldiers here have been waiting an ambush and this is an event is something they should have realized sooner as they quickly spot >> we found no sign of their foe. >> They're also all rivermen and likely

[01:33] wouldn't have been waring against each other. You also see a white bird on a Mallister. They're of course louse Tully. And speaking of shields, while also see the shield of House Cole. This is the sigil that Kristen was painting

[01:47] earlier in the season. I think I'd also be as moody and emo as him if my house sigil was just some dots to represent Cole. But moving on, this entire scene that both sides are fighting now. It's a pretty badass fight. And to be fair to

[02:02] Kristen, he proves himself a great fighter. This is something that we haven't actually seen for quite a while. And despite Kristen proclaiming he's the realm's greatest warrior ever, it's nice to see him busting some heads though.

[02:14] to beat Damon within season 1. Now, because of his skill, Cole and the gang actually managed to hold their own and take down the Riverman forces. >> WE LIKE THE WAY. >> This is the High Tower's motto, which

[02:28] Unfortunately though, they're all surrounded. And though he makes a valiant last stand, the day is done. All this was but a prelude. For the lords of forces. When Sir Christristen left the lake behind, striking out over land for

[02:43] Blackwater, he found them waiting at top a stony ridge. 300 mountain knights in armor as many long bow men, 3,000 archers, 3,000 ragged rivermen with spears, hundreds of northmen brandishing axes, moles, spiked maces, and ancient

[02:57] iron swords. Above their heads flew Queen Reneer's banners. Who are they? A squire asked when the foe appeared. They showed no arms but the queens. Or death, answered Sir Christristen Cole. >> Who are they?

[03:11] same, it is slightly different to the account in the book where it's more just so the forces can surround them. I do like this change though, as combining the two battles works really well here. Like the book, Kristen also calls for a

[03:26] broker the men's lives. >> If I strike my banners, WILL YOU SPARE >> I like how this moment also kind of mirrors Damon treating with Orman Cole offered to tell their men to stand down, but the Rivermen are not accepting

[03:40] any surrender here. In response to Cole's offer, Oscar Tully then says, >> "I made a promise to the dead. Cole, I told them I build a sept out of enough bones yet." >> Which is a line that comes directly from

[03:53] characters here are a bit different to the text, as there we have Sir Gerald Gray. always kind of read it as the negotiations going on for a bit longer as well as in the book Kristen even wrote out to treat with them.

[04:06] will die as well. >> Which is also a line pulled directly from the story. That's alongside Rody Run's line about dying with a weapon in hand. However, there he prefaces it by saying that winter's here and that he

[04:18] knows the days are drawing short. I'm actually very surprised I skipped over that line cuz it's one of those easy slam dunk winter is coming things. But different. And the winter wolves have been sent south first as they're a group

[04:32] of old men. When it came to the Starks and the tradition in the houses, winter old warriors decided to leave their family for battle so as to not take up resources. So that might be implied, especially as Allison later suggests

[04:46] Aean spent winter at Harrenhal. But yeah, the winter is coming line would have been an easy slam dunk. Am I the only one who likes cheap Easter eggs? Colin pulls out Allison's handkerchief and wraps it around his sword. He was

[04:58] seen often sniffing this last season and requested this as her favor, which would essentially be her blessing that he go to battle. At iton in season 1, he won Reneer's favor after beating her uncle/husband, but Allison's favor led

[05:10] also believes he'll go forth and have a standoff that will be sung about for centuries to come. But the guy suffers a similar fate to Jace and is shot from afar. It's a far cry from the glorious death he's been seeking. And though he

[05:23] challenges them to a twoon-one standoff, things are cut short. There's no big sendoff, no glorious battle, and the guy is killed without any real fanfare. You can even see little Oscar looks a bit disappointed as he's often spoke of

[05:36] honor and usually done the right thing, even to the point he was ordering crimes. So, I wonder if his willingness to defeat Cole without honor is due to the Lord Commander's gorilla tactics against them. And I do wonder if he was

[05:49] actually fully on board with shooting him from afar or if he was just kind of gorilla tactics. Now, in the show, Cole's killed by Allison Blackwood, whereas in the book, this was actually Red Rob Rivers. How about Allison is a

[06:03] big character later in the story. Um, and I think they're just setting her up to be more crucial later on. Three arrows flew across the field, striking I'll have no songs about how brave you died, King Maker, declared Longleaf.

[06:16] There's 10,000 dead on your account. He was speaking to a corpse. The Legion then swarmmed the men and we see as they die surrounded from all sights. Closing out on Cole, we see he passes away holding on to Allison's favor, who's the

[06:28] person he had on his mind the entire time. Ultimately, he's just a casualty of a fruitless war and goes out like the chump he always was. Also, I h held off cuz I'd pre-ordered the steelbook and I was like, I'll just wait for that to

[06:43] but it ain't been a good week for characters called Cole. The battle that followed was as one-sided as any in the dance. Lord Rodrik raised a warhorn to his lips and sounded the charge, and the queen's men came screaming down the

[06:56] shaggy northern horses, and the knights on their armored destriè. With Sir men who had followed him from Harrenhal lost heart. They broke and fled, casting aside their shields as they ran. Their foes came after, cutting them down by

[07:10] the hundreds. Afterwards, Sagarabald was heard to say, "Today was butchery, not battle." Mushroom, upon hearing a report of his words, dubbed the fight the ever since. Now, while this scene in opening was pretty great, I do feel like

[09:37] lost. But to be fair, she doesn't really seem to be the sentimental type. YOU WANT MY SON DEAD? YEAH, I'LL go do it. Finally, they're found by the gods, and leave King's Landing. She probably could have just stayed, though, cuz things

[09:50] aren't going well. And we see Damon reeling from his discovery last week. and though they've got a victory against approach. Damon also wants to take Orman

[10:02] should just burn them out. But this would mean Rene attacks her own people, her. Now, I did find lots of similarities with her and Allison, but the latter is much, much worse. I think Allison's actually willing to kill her

[10:16] own kids, which I think is morally way worse and killing some people who never hit the thumbs up. Rene is basically unwilling to do anything that would be threat of a challenger to the throne with Helena being pregnant. The war and

[10:30] the problems in her city could be won in one single burning, but she doesn't have the stomach for it. Whereas Allison is like, "Fuck them kids." Also, I point this out every week, so might as well do it for this one. But my Zarya is now

[10:42] rocking fully white after her color scheme has been building towards it. She and it's just a nice bit of costume design for the character. Also, love the back and forth between Damon and Torren, and they joke about how yes, dragon fire

[10:56] can discern between who's cool and who's not. I think the Sabbath of Frey/ Torren Manderly friendship's brilliant as well, and the lad also dodges the cup like George Bush dodging that shoe. But Allan agrees with them and thinks they should

[11:08] hold back. However, Damon starts bringing up Egg on the Conqueror. In his mind, dragons are how he took over the land and that's what they should use on Friend and Po. Like Damon's harsh and brutal ideas in war have backfired

[11:20] before though, as he allowed William Blackwood to conduct savagery against off all the Rivermen and Oscar Tully. Really, I think he just sees that there's only one way of dealing with things. And we see firsthand in this

[11:33] episode how you can't defeat an idea. Even when killing those who've been large group of people who simply won't accept Reneer as the queen. Now, whereas Damon is channeling Agon in the scene, Renez thinking of someone else.

[11:47] >> Throughout the episode, the image of Asseras hangs over her and she even focuses on a statue in the throne room. So, they're very much clashing heads as they're inspired by different leaders and we are going to see how there's

[12:01] think. But for the moment, Damon's told to remain in the city and hunt the might be a greater reason that she's holding him back as she seems insistent he remain in King's Landing. I do wonder if with him gone that would mean she's

[12:15] even more vulnerable and she's worried that he might sneak off with someone more influenced by what happens in the book as there he's secretly hooking up with Nettles. It's also shacking up with Myaria and the rogue prince is a bit of

[12:28] a wild card. Rene even orders Nettles to be brought before her for the infidelity and Rene's a lot more worried about losing her husband. Alan is also told to petition Valarian men and they become a key factor in the episode. Rene then

[12:41] [clears throat] bravians. declared for the Greens. So, I did like this little switch up to keep us book readers on our toes. As we hear, Boris is currently fighting the Vulture King,

[12:55] which is a title that many took over the heirs with the first appearing in 37 AC. The Vulture King was someone who'd stand as in a front of the Iron Throne, and Mountain. At the moment, he's been raiding through the Stormlands, and

[13:08] exactly in the good books since Luke died, and Reneer is annoyed that he's hand. How about taking their clothes? We'll have to do and she sends men in >> Give me your belt. >> Cutting to Tumbleton, we see Hugh and

[13:22] Olaf exchanging shifts with them, alternating between watching the town. bottle of booze. And I love how you can see their dragons snuggling up, which is book as well. Unchained, they were kept beyond the town walls, free to fly and

[13:36] hunt as they would. Silverwing and Vermathor oft coiled about one another don't know if referring to dragons as characters the right terminology, but spot a burn farm when they sit down on the hill. So, it looks like the dragons

[13:51] have been causing some chaos. Now, Olaf has accidentally become important at work and now he absolutely hates it. The guy reminisces on the good old days of being poor and brings up market day. I think for the character though, the

[14:04] grass is always greener and he may even think the glory lies by going greener. Hey, that's something that kind of has been building throughout the season and the way the blacks have been treating him. Isn't exactly nice. Even after

[14:17] about, totally can't drink, and slapped in the street. It's a far cry from the under the rule of someone else who abuses him. When he was younger, he was abused by a noble, but managed to push through it by holding on to the hope of

[14:31] one day being seen as a Targaryen. However, Reneura and Damon wouldn't let him take the name, and they're limiting what he can do. Now though, he doesn't have the cope to think that he'll be some big big dragon lord one day cuz

[14:43] isn't going well. So what we're seeing is very much the old be careful what you >> Not one hour with the lads. >> Olaf is also very vain and doesn't see the point of having a dragon if no one can see it. Miris's words in episode one

[14:58] where he was angry that he had a dragon but wasn't made a lord. He also says [sighs] hot pies. And I did wonder if this might be a nod to the character Hot Pie, one of the best characters in the main show.

[15:10] Who has a better story than Pie of Hot. Make Hot Pie sit on the Iron Throne. Now, I did uh I did actually wonder what Hot Pie was up to these days. Uh and I opened a Game of Thrones inspired bakery. So, what I want you to do for

[15:25] this video is write your best bakery themed pun below. The best one will get a voice note sent by Lord Kevin. Spoilers. I was thinking on it, right? And uh the best one I could come up with was Game of Scones. Hey, Game of Scones.

[15:39] You having that? >> OH, BROTHER. THIS GUY STINKS. >> ANYWAY, ULF CLEARLY DOESN'T think his life Yes, it was [ __ ] that, but Ult doesn't think his life's improved. And now Hugh's got to spend the next two

[15:51] days watching the city. How about he takes matters into his own hands and heads in there looking for his wife. >> Come on, girl.

[16:06] Reneer, the ladder is pretty annoyed that she's still trying to escape after also forgot to mention last week was that the actor who played Reneer as Modern Warfare reboot. But seeing that, I actually looked into if there was any

[16:21] other extra Easter eggs, and apparently during filming, an extra shouted, "Cod bombshell at Helena's pregnant and the pair have a pretty open conversation changing things a lot from the book, but I think the baby's importance will still

[16:37] are well aware they're trying to escape and they get a double god placed on them. Also love how Allison's like, "Oh, that sucks, man. You you can't confine us." And it's like, "Love, you're prisoners. You are actually the enemy.

[16:52] You caused all this [ __ ] Love wasn't even strict with them initially. And now Helena is pregnant which causes even further issues. If anyone sees she's carrying a child, then dissent will rise once more. So Allison suggests going

[17:04] away to somewhere far away with Helena. And again, it's like love, you literally not understand? You're being punished. So she ends up leaving herself to do the unenviable task that will hopefully win their freedom. Kind of plays off aspects

[17:18] of the book as well and is clearly building towards Elena's depression. In the events of Blood and Cheese and basically was resigned to her bed chamber. The show obviously skipped out on this though and Helena never really

[17:31] they've added in this element which is pulling her in that direction. So, it's book. Where this scene differs massively is how the bing goes. In the book,

[17:43] Allison goes the Iron Throne and puts forth that they divide up the kingdom. This will give Aean and Agon their own seats elsewhere, but Rene is furious. She says they would have had that if they'd not pushed forth with war, as all

[17:55] of them were royal family members anyway. But she's lost her sons and now it's off with their heads. To which Allison replies, "Bastard's blood shed at war." Rene then threatens to take Allison's tongue and some accounts say

[18:08] she actually went for it. However, the book then says that her hand was stayed by Mysoria. Now, I do wonder if this is what they built their alliance from for the show, but yeah, the work doesn't really make them mates. Myaria instead

[18:21] suggests she send them to the brothel and delivers the very cold line, "They speak of bastards so freely, let them have one of their own." But in the show, it would be like, "They speak of bastards so freely, let them have one of

[18:33] we then see she's caught between both sides and lies about knowing Helena was pregnant. Pointing out the housemate who helped in their escape attempt, Mysoria then orders the gods to get her. >> Let me know when it's done. Now,

[18:46] board who could spell the secrets. And it shows just how ruthless My Moria is. Though she is in sending Allison Elena to the brothel, she is uh not very nice either. She's someone who is in prison just like Allison and is well aware the

[19:01] crown can turn at any second. Shows again how people like Mazzari and win. But Rene is still clinging on to the way her dad used to rule. With Last Supper and see the gold cloaks resigning from their duties. This whole

[19:15] story is actually a major change up from the book and there Luther Login died during a ride at Flea Bomb. Damon at this point was also hunting Vaggar with Nettles. So yeah, they're showing kind of the dislike of Reneer and what her

[19:28] rule is bringing by having the most loyalist soldiers be like, "Uh, we're not doing it anymore." The men haven't been paid and people are being murdered and Damon isn't exactly a nice boss to work with. He berates them after one of

[19:41] shame >> all of you. You forget what this city was. This line actually reminded me of also reminiscing

[19:53] refuses to accept things have changed and also refuses to accept their cloak. Thus, they put them down on the table and the city watch goes out with a whimper instead of a bang. Now, the watch itself is probably the most

[20:07] successful thing that Damon's ever led. and he turned this organization into a well-armed force in the city. Now it's failing though and I find it very site where their brother-in- arms were killed and it's symbolic that the gold

[20:21] cloaks died here in more ways than one. Death is something that surrounds the entire kingdom and we see that Callis is clearing up the Triarchy remnants. We wonder here if the remnants are replacing Daltton Greyjoy attack on

[20:34] Lannisport and all the surrounding areas. Colin then goes and asks for help and Corus is like, "Nah, mate. She wouldn't legitimize you. I'm not I'm not >> And how many years did it take you to do the same?

[20:48] >> And he's got you there, mate. To be fair, Callus, of course, only cares continue forward. >> History >> History does not remember blood.

[21:05] accepted Luceris as his heir. But now all the men in his line are dead who carry his name. Well, Leno is still alive, but yeah, he he obviously doesn't his bastards and he's angry because Reneer could make it so the name isn't

[21:19] extinguished, but he does give some info and tells him Tylen Lannister is making in the woods, we then get a scene that feels like it's ripped out of Good Fellas. Larus is also like, "Ah, mate, hole's not big enough yet, but Thailand

[21:33] can't be asked." And after offering him the spade, he basically just turns and looks away. He then tells Agon about the passage to Braavos. And I love the framing here as we cut between the two guys advising the king. We jump back and

[21:45] forth and Agon does the ultimate test on them by asking Thailand if he thinks he's a terrible man. Kind of says it in a roundabout way. Ras Laris was just a lot more direct. Laris has the better advice and he's not scared of Eegon,

[21:59] which I think in the end is why Eegon chooses his plan over Tyling to sail to days at Rook's rest and then head out on the ships. Or so we think. And that the ships. Or so we think. And that takes us back to theory time. [music]

[22:18] going to head out to Rook's Rest and likely go looking for Thailand. However, upon arriving there, they'll likely find Aegon, who's obviously the thing they've been after the most. Now, I think this is when Sunfire will probably rise up. I

[22:31] know I said that I thought he'd rise up with Janos, but I think it makes way the book, Sunfire is alive at this point and roaming through the countryside, and the Blacks keep getting attacked by the creature. I think the dragon is in some

[22:43] Agon said he was still alive. Personally, I think that when the blacks arrive to take them, the dragon will rise up. And this will be when Agon throws his spanner in Reneer's plants. Also, if you like dragons, then why not

[22:56] the video where we've got a t-shirt for C-ax, Vaggar, Caraxis, and more. We also with a lot from Night of the Seven Kingdoms. Plus, there's big sales on there, too. And the more you buy, the

[23:23] in the distance. This is likely her sister and Adam who are currently scouting about. Also feel like she might rise up with her own dragon as well cuz Jane seems to be treating her like [ __ ] Who is getting some affection though is

[23:36] Aeand who Alice thanks for saving her life. All you want to do is go and find Vagar, but Alice wants him to rest and recover. Aemon even suspects that Vagar might be wary of the castle itself, which is understandable. I love how we

[23:49] have these two sides looking for Vagar as well as Baylor and Adam are searching the role in Dam in the book as there he was the one who was basically leading the hunt against it. Alice then later gives Aean a reason to stay and proposes

[24:02] characters. There's even some foreshadowing of what's to come. And I they've said it like five times to the character. And when you find your mount, will you fly to your death? >> Now, this aim and leaving Harrenhal

[24:17] storyline happens in the book, but it is very different there. He actually leaves the castle to burn the rivers, but he ends up returning. The burning instead has been given to Vagar, who's gone feral, and it might be Aean walking in

[24:29] Alice stands over Aean while he sits on the bed. And in our trailer breakdown, I did mess up and I'm sorry. H I apologize, but I thought this shot was that isn't the case. It does symbolically look like he's bending the

[24:44] knee and becoming subjugated by her and her plants. You could say he's falling for her. And speaking of falling for her, we cut to Lady Jane who's pushed >> Never ceases to be fascinating. >> The best execution style from Game of

[24:58] Thrones is back. And it's no coincidence that Jane meets everyone in this room because the threat that hangs over it or under it. Slapping Raina, we hear she's for her sister. Jane is really abusive to her and Raina's stuck between a rock

[25:12] era, she'll be potentially killed because of what happened to Jace and it would also undo Damon's cover up. Jane is also in on it too and knows that Damon killed a shepherd. Staying with Jane isn't really that good either, and

[25:25] as we see, Jane's really abusive in the scene. This is a theme that's run throughout the season and be it here with Damon and Olf or Darren and Orund lots of characters have this messed up relationship. Raina then kind of echoes

[25:38] some of the sentiments of Ulf. >> All my life I have yearned after a dragon and now I have one but I have lost everything else. you wish for and it's completely

[25:50] wonder if Lady Jane will eventually have to send some soldiers like in the book when this rain of stuff blows up in her face, which yeah, it is going to happen, isn't it? We then see Alan meeting with Baylor, who's exhausted from all her

[26:03] thought she might hook up with Adam, which would be different to the book. around to the source material, and the pair end up kissing. Happens a lot lifted from this part of the book, which talks about Baylor kissing random dudes.

[26:18] Not long after the queen's court removed to King's Landing, whilst leaving Lady Baylor on Dragonstone, Baylor had been caught allowing a kitchen scullion to slip his hand inside her jerking. [ __ ] hell. What? Slip kitchen

[26:30] scullion slipping his hand inside her jerking. Sir, Robert outrage had sent offending hand removed. Only the girl's tearful intercession had saved him. I was even pondering if this might lead to an irritating against Allan as he's now

[26:44] making moves on his son's ex- fiance. And the guy's been dead like a week. Also, h I want to apologize for how much out of focus the last section of the video was. Uh I realized after exporting it, I'm an idiot. I don't know how

[26:57] cameras work. I'm not a camera guy. I'm more of a read the book and explain the book guy. But at this point, we then cut to Wayne with Orman sniffing away at his perfume pot. I love how he keeps insisting Gwenne gets a bath and it's a

[27:09] then see how his senses overload him later on. And I do wonder if this might battle of Tumbleton. Neither know that Kristen is dead yet, but Gwen correctly says that fighting on is madness. What I love about this scene as well and what

[27:24] to see what Darren actually thinks about Orund. So far, we've only seen things when he's with him or with his dragon and haven't really heard him talking about the character. Orund is also such

[27:36] a dick tow as well and he makes several jokes about the character being gay. He solace in the arms of his men and then says backs against the walls which I was like wait that's that's like some 1990s homophobia that and I was a bit like

[27:51] [ __ ] Orman you [ __ ] But this is something that fans speculated on in real life since Freddy Fox is openly bisexual. Baby and Frankle who played might happen to them in the woods that he could fall in love with or something.

[28:04] And though it was said jokingly, fans kind of picked up on it and did say, "Ooh, they they could be in love or something." But we all know he only has sniffs for Allison. But yes, it it looks like the character is indeed gay. And it

[28:17] just shows how much of a [ __ ] Ormond is because this guy is like fighting for his cause and being treated like [ __ ] which kind of reflects things with like Alf and Raina. Gwane also says he hasn't seen a feather bed for weeks, and this

[28:31] pair were discussing home. Outside, we then see the fear Darren lives with and Orund. He was made to kill Cat's brother, and Ormond is the devil on his shoulder. Darren describes himself as being like a puppet, and it's clear he

[28:45] that Ormond will simply be ruling through him and hates that he's painted a target on his back. In the book, they don't even have the thing about Orman trying to put him on the throne. But Rene is desperate to get Darren's head.

[28:58] She doesn't care that he's still just a boy and says one day he'll be a man and to come down the line. Gwane then suggests taking the throne and casting Orman down, but Darren's more of a realist. I will never be king, uncle. We

[29:28] heading there instead. Cutting to Helena, we learn she refuses to eat and questions Allison about the lie around Jiara. She's figured out she wasn't taken and hidden on the road and now can no longer trust her old mummy bear. She

[29:42] sees her as being someone who wants to save herself. And ultimately, from be what she does when she leaves King's Landing. We also see as Helena selfs to cross stitch with. She tries to stick this in her finger, and it's a lot like

[29:57] how Allison used to pick at her nails. Shows she's now racked with the same anxiety, but the needle is taking things beyond that. Helena is completely spiraling, and like most of the kids here, is just sick of being used in this

[30:09] war. Allison then looks at what she's making and it appears to be a man in a vagina. This is in front of a castle while a woman stands on the high to the right. Now, this is obviously a due to the eye and the woman on the right

[30:22] appears to be Alice. This is all in front of Harrenhal and it's symbolic of spoiler section, but the image very much represents birth coming forth and birth and rebirth are also symbolized by eggs. also wondered if this was her copying

[30:36] what Alice was stitching last week, but it's probably just Helena visualizing her dream. We cut to Aean, who then seems to be ditching Harrenhal, but he's interrupted by a stable boy. This is someone that Alice mentioned last week,

[30:49] on a killing spree. She then reveals the eggs, which we learn were laid by Dreamfire. Raina, like like not like Raina from the show, like another Raina. Um, she came here after her daughter died, and the eggs ended up being laid

[31:02] here. Dreamfire also laid eggs at Castly Rock. And I do wonder if they're all going to come together to play in this big Game of Thrones. You might remember the showrunner came out and was like,

[31:14] not the same thing." And everyone was like, "Well, they look like the same thing." And he was like, "Ah, I suppose yeah, they might actually be that." Or back and forth between the creative team where some people said they were the

[31:27] eggs and some people said that they weren't. But they now brought new eggs into it as well. And when I seen these, I was like, is this are these Danny's eggs as well? Potentially. But the dream fire connection is also pretty big as

[31:39] that's actually Helena's dragon. This is one that Aean tried to get his sister to ride in the war. And though that didn't happen, it hasn't really been in the in the book, Raina became friends with Mega Towers, who was a sickly young lord

[31:52] and eventually was sought to be a witch by the common folk. So there is even the read there that she might be somehow connected to Alice. But these eggs hatching would massively change the course of the war and also give Aean a

[32:05] big advantage in taking the throne. >> I'm tired of this desolate existence. >> Now, this could be her simply talking about being fed up with life in general, but book Alice is much older than she seems. She's a lot like Melisandre in

[32:19] she's been waiting for the right man to come along and Aean represents that. and Alice touches upon the ancient strength that exists there. We've of weirwood tree and it's something it could use to overtake the kingdoms

[32:35] coupled with the dragons. The pair would be unstoppable and thus Aean decides to remain at Harrenhal. Shors talks about being the lady of the water which is a Arththeran legend. in that Arthur took Excalibur from the stone and was then

[32:49] pronounced king. So, she's very much offering a similar thing and wants to in the throne room, we then see how she's basically denying everyone's requests. Even crying babies are [ __ ] outside and without the city watch,

[33:03] Rea's like, >> "You have my condolences. I shall attend the Sept." >> Sending thoughts and prayers. I also

[33:15] wonder if she just doesn't care because Septan Eustace mugged her off about the coronation. Myaria is clearly doubting her master as well and her fate seems to This is said to show one isn't worthy to

[33:28] father's statue. He's positioned looking away which though it fits with the other statues symbolically it plays into the idea that he's not happy with her judgment. Now in the book the cutting of

[33:40] she takes King's Landing. She apparently spends hours making the Lord swear feelalty to her and that obviously didn't happen in the show, but I did wonder if they were doing something to change it up. Rene has obviously had her

[33:53] period during this time and when I saw that happen, I did wonder if her getting up and then bleeding might be mistaken for this happening. However, in the end, they do go a bit more book accurate, even if it happens a bit later in her

[34:05] rule. Septan Eustus tells us that the ceremony went on all through that night. It was well past dawn when Reneer Targaryen rose and made her descent, and as her husband, Lord Prince Damon, escorted her from the hall, cuts were

[34:17] seen upon her Grace's legs, in the palm of her left hand, wrote Eustus. Drops of blood fell to the floor as she went past, and wise men looked at one another, though none dead speak the truth aloud, the Iron Throne had spurned

[34:29] her, and her days upon it would be few. Leaving the throne, we then get a great overhead shot that shows the passage through the swords. Sort of creates through the middle. It's at this point that we then cut to Damon who's making

[34:42] Landing disguised as a gold cloak. It's kind of playing upon the devious nature of the war now. Orund is fake surrendering. Allison sneaking out disguised as a maid. Soldiers are playing dead. Even Reneer posed as a

[34:55] Septin last season. And we have Hugh, the great assassins. And now, get this. who they are and a lot of it's on the Damon then catches the assassin and I

[35:08] god earlier in the season. He was Lord of the Greens and is still rocking that colored clothing in the street. Now I can't remember who first pointed that out. I did see it on Twitter. Uh but shout out Twitter guy for noticing it

[35:21] was the same actor. He then gives quite a chilling speech about how they have no sigil and are simply the people of Westeros. The more the blacks kill them, the more are driven to their cause. And ultimately, people just won't embrace

[35:33] Reneer no matter how much they try. He also mentions Darren the daring by name, which is Darren's nickname in the book. Now, they haven't really showed that much in the show, but he acts as Orman's scout. Um, goes on his dragon and kind

[35:46] of looks ahead of the battlefields, takes part in said battles themselves, and is basically quite a strong warrior, especially for his age. But Damon's could have tortured this guy and potentially got a bit more information,

[36:00] barging. Oh, >> which way you're [ __ ] >> Turns out Ol's been trying to sneak off to the end, and this shows Ulf's true character. He's acted hard done throughout the show, but we see how he

[36:15] treats someone he thinks is beneath him with utter contempt. feel like the Targaryenss are all kind of the same. Uh, and he would be just like Damon if he was given half the chance. Well, not all the same, mate. Viseris was a good

[36:28] guy. I will will admit that. But yeah, a lot of them are tickets. The gods toss a coin, as they say about the Targaryenss, but finally stands up to the rogue prince and tries to up to him with them both liking the pleasures in the town.

[36:41] However, it doesn't go down well and Damon smacks him in the street. Now, this is bad for two reasons. Firstly, it's going to piss off even further and maybe even make him go looking for places more welcoming. Second, this is

[36:55] in public view, and the optics are that the city watches beating people up, so it won't help Reneer's cause either. The spy girl also notices it as well and is likely reporting it to her masters. So, she might be like, "I seen Olot H

[37:09] getting beat up by Damon. Maybe we could go offer him a deal." But this massively where it talks about Alphen Hugh's time the women in the brothel and were generally disliked. But here they're far

[37:23] more relatable, but also clearly more about themselves than the plight of the Targaryenss. Speaking of disguises and sneaking about, we then see Hugh working away at the defense. And it plays off the line from the earlier

[37:36] episodes. shows that the people that Damon wants to burn as well are just another lord's bidding against their will. They probably have day jobs that pay for their family supply, but now they've been drafted into defense

[37:49] making. We also get quick shots of the bar the barians coming in and this sets up the meaning that we get here. We also have Orman saying that Darren must be careful when choosing a hand. He says Rene made a

[38:01] good choice in picking Cores and the capture at the end could potentially lead into him trying to turn him. His fate's massively different to the book as well as there he remained at King's Landing. Orund also says he didn't like

[38:13] Otto which shows he's not objective and it's kind of a bad sign as we saw firing Otto was Egun's biggest mistake. He then says how you can't claw your way to power but that's also exactly what he's doing. The assassins then arrive and I

[38:26] did think for a second he was like being a bit like me when I see a a a Baratheon a bit like me when I see a a a Baratheon banner myself. a bit too much mate. I feel bad for my editors. Boo all you want, mate. They're

[38:41] spending half a day doing that edit and I feel really sorry for them. But there is a little clue here that these are forces as the guy to the left is also start of the episode playing on his vanity. They say they're there to bend

[38:55] the knee, but Gwain quickly figures things out. Now, I couldn't quite make his name is, but it does sound like Orin Baratheon. How about that character died started. Either way, they asked to see

[39:08] knee, and it just seems so stupid by Orund to immediately present him, especially since he's used decoys in the past. Then attacks, and Orman's EVEN >> "NO, [screaming] STOP HIM. STOP HIM. >> I DON'T KNOW, MATE. You might be an

[39:23] idiot. Also, just don't think the guy likes splitter violence. And for as much as he talks a good fight, he's clearly not a warrior. Guy is sick at the sight of the battle. And to be fair, he the guy did get his dick cut off in front of

[39:37] him. So yeah, it is going to put you off your dinner even if you don't have that stuff with sense. This is carried out by none other than John Roxson, though, kills someone later in the book with his sword offer maker. This leads to

[39:50] possibly the funniest death in Fire and Blood. Uh, which is something that I might tell you about in the spoiler section. The fight also shows just how and how he's willing to put himself into battle. Orman just stays behind the

[40:03] table and is clearly a cow when it comes to war, which is why he waved the white flag with Damon and then still kept fighting. Gwane also clearly knew the Baratheonss and is just a much better leader than Orund is. We then see Hugh

[40:16] being reunited with his wife, but it goes down as well as Agamen on returning breaks down because of the loss of her brother and everything that's happened on the road. We don't really learn specifics, but it's clear she's been

[40:29] through a lot. How about Hugh's here to just talk about the glory, him claiming a dragon, and being the VIP in King's Landing. Rather than comforting her, he's here to say they have coined a fine house. And Cat clearly feels like she

[40:42] house. And Cat clearly feels like she was abandoned. I needed you here. conversation is going to weigh heavily on the character which will be something spoiler section. Jumping back to Orman and Wayne, the former thanks him and

[40:56] confronts him about his own pride and how he'll sacrifice others to get what he wants. He questions what his real plan is, which to me might be sacrificing Darren. Orund has successfully created a cult ready to

[41:09] kill for the wouldbe king. And if he can bait Rene to burning the city in Darren, then he can possibly get the realms to unite for vengeance and install a non-targen on the throne. I feel like that's what he's trying to do here. Um,

[41:22] city. Darren will be killed. And he'll be like, "Oh, I was Darren's best mate. I was. You should follow me. Let's go and get revenge. Follow me." We then cut back to Reira and Allison with a letter pleading once more to help Helena. She

[41:35] which is something several of the Targaryenss have possessed with it allowing them to see the future. Dy saw the fall of Valyria and Aegon saw the seven kingdoms also had it as well. And it's how Allison knows Ammon's at

[41:49] Harrenhal. Now because of this, Reneer may even want to weaponize her abilities and possibly use her to strategize things going forward, deciding to send Allison with an escort who will also be an assassin. The Daaja queen eventually

[42:01] Helena, but Rene says she'll keep her watch until she returns. >> Did I not warn you that you would come to this? Helena, who says she could refuse to kill her son. Have Allison sees it as

[42:16] dealing with the choices of their parents. Otto made Allison go to Viseris, and Allison forced Egon to take the throne, even though he ran away on the day of the coronation. Allison also didn't begrudge her marrying her

[42:29] brother. And now everything's falling apart because of her parents. Helena also looks at the wooden horse, which is a symbol of innocence lost. Finally return as soon as she's able. We then get the idea of parents being distant

[42:42] from their children as well. When we see Rene sitting down on Joffrey's bed, she still hasn't really spent time with them like at all and is using the time she has to take part in these petty little wars. Receiving a Baratheon uniform, she

[42:55] opens it up and it says, "Ho ho ho. Now I have a machine gun." Orman's gang are arrest Corless in the woods. Corus says their blades are needed in the city and King's Landing, but they're grabbed here and thus Rene is going to be left even

[43:10] more defenseless. Now, this is pretty different in the book as their callus It was upon hearing this that his army decided to abandon the queen. Whereas stormed by this gang. A callless might even be killed here, but that's just

[43:24] kind of me putting my knowledge of the book onto his fate. However, I definitely think that that is worth considering and it ends the episode on a pretty big cliffhanger. Now, I do feel like the pacing kind of let this episode

[43:36] down a bit as we had that massive bit with Kristen at the start and then just spinning its wheels a bit. I do think the episode was solid overall, but I don't know, it was just one of them ones where I think not that much of actual

[43:50] covered by things earlier in the season. But yeah, cold taking the arrow to the I'd of course love to hear thoughts below. But on we go to the spoiler section. So if you don't want to know, I'll hopefully see you back next Sunday.

[44:18] like, "Oh, it's good to see him again." But in the book, he was actually at couldn't find the goal like in the show. or he was then taken to be tortured. It was reinstated as master of coin when Agon II retook the city. As we see,

[44:32] Corus has also discovered that Thailand is still alive and making Baruk's rest. Luckily, he told this info to Allan before being captured by Orman's men. So, I suspect that Rene will no doubt send people to arrest him. We also

[44:44] theorize that it could lead to Egon being in danger and this might cause Sunfire to wake up and save him. We could also see Tylen just be taken and then tortured to reveal that Agon is in fact there. As a Baylor, she's hitting

[44:57] up Alan, which does happen in the book, but it takes place much later on. In the aftermath of everything that happened to Jay, she was asked to remarry, but she didn't want to go with any of the men chosen for her. So, this led to her

[45:09] choosing Alan to wed and the pair were married within 2 weeks. This happened much later down the line, but I think moving this relationship a bit earlier may help with another storyline that's to come, which is the treason of Alpen

[45:21] Hugh. Those two will eventually switch sides at Tumbleton, which leads to Rene claiming all the dragon seeds are traitorous. If she also learns that Baylor's getting with Allen, who's a guy she refused to give a title to, then she

[45:33] might be furious. This is also why Corus got arrested and thrown in the dungeons in the book. as after all the dragon seeds were deemed traitors. He did try and warn his sons and this led to his arrest. There he was kept in the black

[45:45] cells and some of his men tried to rise against Rene. Like I said, his army also departed King's Landing. Um so they are kind of playing off that by not having them be there. Part of me also wonders if Rene will turn against Alan while

[45:58] Corus has been taken and Orand might try and sway him to his side. Speaking of imprisonment, we have Helena making a tapestry even her mother wouldn't want Allison heading to meet her son and getting killed. And as we know, Helena

[46:12] is currently pregnant. Alice is also trying to get pregnant, too. And in the mentioned how Helena in the book was despondent and borderline catatonic after Mor's death. She does appear to be

[46:24] reaching that point here as she refuses to eat or even really talk to Allison. In the book, this spirals to the point that she takes her own life, which has been signposted by her not wanting to be in the room, wanting to see the moon and

[46:36] to do. I do wonder as well if she's mixed up her visions and the person surrounded in red is her after doing a tomin and jumping out the window like kind of a splat on the ground. Allison also said in the episode,

[46:49] >> "I will come back and collect you and we will we will walk out in the sun." >> Which is quite ominous. In the trailers, we've seen Helena with her hair flying around in the light. So, what if this is Helena quite literally walking out into

[47:04] blowing back, the sun's shining down, and this might be her walking out into the sun. Also recall like Allison gasping at one point in the trailers. Uh, but I could be wrong. However, I do

[47:16] think that she might go try and mess things up with Aean, come back to King's Landing, and then see her daughter jumping from the window. Now, regarding another one of Allison's kids, we know that Darren really dislikes being under

[47:28] puppeted by Dennis Reynold, sorry, his first cousin once removed. In the book, after the Battle of Tumbleton, Darren was killed, but his body was never located. So, I do wonder if they might even do Elenor and have him disappear

[47:41] and go off to live a very happy life, which might also be how he ends up in Hyrule. Lastly, we have John Roxson, who gets a sick kill, literally by gutting one of the assassins. In the book, he actually guarded someone h that I

[47:54] reveal here exclusive. Well, not an exclusive, but I can reveal here it was actually Hugh Hammer. After he turned, Hugh went full on demon mode and committed so many atrocities that the Greens wanted the guy dead. John Roxton

[48:07] was the one to kill him before battle and Hammer was gutted. However, John Roxson then slipped on his guts and died. So, yeah, quite a funny death. Uh, this is setting that up, but yeah, it is worth bringing up. Either way, that ends
