45sThe dramatic opening claim that trading changed his life immediately hooks viewers, especially those curious about alternative income.
▶ Play Clip"Delivers on the promise of a personal story, but the title oversells the 'complete' transformation with some fluff and repetition."
In this personal video, Benjamin, known as Bilgo, shares his journey from a security guard earning €1,300 a month to a successful trader who has withdrawn over €250,000 from funded accounts. He details his early interest in trading sparked by a documentary, his struggles with mediocre academies, and his eventual breakthrough with a self-developed strategy. The video aims to motivate others by showing that a normal person can achieve financial freedom through trading.
Benjamin introduces himself as Bilgo, 27 years old, from Seville, Spain. He started trading about 7 years ago and wants to share his personal story.
At 16-17, he saw a documentary in economics class about the stock market, featuring a trader using Metatrader. This sparked his interest in making money from home without a boss.
In late 2018/2019, he got into cryptocurrencies due to the bull market, then quickly moved to Forex after seeing an Instagram ad for an academy. He joined for €80-90/month but found it mediocre.
He worked as a security guard with rotating shifts, often 12-hour days, earning around €1,300-1,700 per month. He described the 'rat race' of working to pay bills until retirement.
At 21-22, he realized he didn't want to work until 67-71 like his father, who was also a security guard. He decided trading was his alternative path.
He became obsessed with trading, studying Smart Money from an English-speaking community despite not speaking English. He eventually developed his own strategy based on liquidity points and market open times.
He left his job three years ago, became a tax resident in Cyprus, bought a house in Spain without a mortgage, and lives in a two-story house with a pool. He has withdrawn over €250,000 from funded accounts.
He emphasizes that his story is to motivate others, showing that a normal person can succeed in trading if they are dedicated and persistent.

16:36[00:03] trading has completely changed my life.
As you know, my name is Benjamin, although I am better known on social media, both on YouTube and Instagram, as
[00:32] both on YouTube and Instagram, as Bilgo. And I am 27 years old, although in about a month, on August 25th, I will be 28 years old. I am from Spain,
[00:44] more specifically from Seville, in southern Spain, Andalusia, and I started in trading about 7 years ago. Although this spark or impulse that I felt to learn more about trading was
[01:01] quite a few years ago.
The program is directed by Jordi Evole, I think, if I'm not mistaken, and you can still watch it on YouTube.
[01:32] The video is still up and you can see that first video there, that first spark that ignited my passion for trading, right? At that time I was a kid, a young man of 16 or 17 years old who was in his first year of high school, even in his fourth year of
That
[01:59] las inversiones de de Wall Street, ¿no? That whole world, well, the teacher showed it to us with that documentary, with that program, that trader who appeared in that program was a stock trader, right? And he showed a little bit about what
[02:12] Metatrader was like, if I'm not mistaken, I think it was a different kind of program, right? The Metatrader, but it taught, well, did n't it? All the Japanese candlesticks, indicators, how you could make money from home, that's what
[02:24] caught my attention at the time, right? The ability to earn money from home. That's what caught my attention. I mean, wow, this job, right?
That's what caught my attention too, of course, the
[02:50] growing in that program. And at that time, what caught my attention was that world, that profession, that business of how you could speculate with stocks, see if your analysis was right , see if you made money, see if
[03:05] something happened in the world and you could buy at a better price, if you could sell at a better price, and also, obviously, working alone, not having a boss and working from home. That's what attracted me most at that time to this
[03:19] profession, to this job. That's where things stood.
But anyway, it just stuck in my head, right? I stored it in my brain and thought, "Wow, I unconsciously stored it in my brain, and that's it. You just leave it stored,
[03:45] right? Like parked in that place in my brain." And then it was 2019, late 2018 around, I don't know the exact date
[03:57] because I don't have it written down, but that's when I started hearing about cryptocurrencies , because at that time they were booming, a lot of people were talking about Bitcoin, about
[04:09] crypto, the new revolution, and obviously it was in a bull market, as you know, when something goes up a lot in price, people start talking about investments. In this case it was with cryptocurrencies, I don't know if I saw an ad or
[04:23] cryptocurrencies, I don't know if I saw an ad or something like that and I started looking into the trailer. At that time, since I was learning about cryptocurrencies, I was looking into Bitcoin, but I quickly made the
[04:36] leap to fiat currencies, and it was basically for a very simple reason, which is Because for a very simple reason, which is Because an ad popped up on Instagram for an academy that taught you to trade Forex very quickly, practically
[04:49] without thinking. I joined that academy, which I think was around 80 or 90 a month for a subscription, and well, they taught me the basics of trading, okay? With trend lines, support, and resistance. I remember
[05:06] that the teacher, the person who taught, analyzed all the charts within Metatrader. This is very curious because practically nobody does that. So , you can imagine the level of the
[05:21] teacher, the supposed teacher who was teaching people. I quickly left that academy; I was there for about three months, and when I had absorbed everything I needed to know—that is , the basic terms like lot size, pips, where to see
[05:37] fundamental news, how to analyze, which brokers, all that kind of stuff—when I took all those things for granted, the basics of trading, I realized that the academy was quite mediocre, and I decided to learn a bit
[05:52] on my own. I was pivoting I went to different academies that operated in the same way, with support, trend forecasts, and so on, and I learned a little from all of them, but with no results in sight. Of course, I should
[06:07] emphasize that at that time I still had my job. I had a normal, ordinary job. I was living on my own, so the bills, rent, food, electricity, clothes, car, all of that came out of my own
[06:20] pocket. I had to keep working, and I worked as a security guard in Spain. Well, I was in different places because as a security guard you don't have a specific job; you can rotate through
[06:33] different services, because as a security guard you might work in a subway station, a supermarket, factories, or patrolling certain areas in your car. In other words, there
[06:46] are many places where you can work. At that time, I didn't have a permanent contract, or anything like that. I had a contract that was renewed practically every month, so the insecurity was quite
[06:59] high. I didn't know if in a month or if In two months I was going to be unemployed. And my salary, to be completely transparent with you, I don't care, was around €1,300, €10,000. Maybe there were peaks in certain months where I worked
[07:14] more with overtime, and maybe I earned €1,600, €1,700. That was the craziest month, where I might have worked 240 or 250 hours. Absolutely insane. We're talking about shifts that were almost
[07:30] all 12 hours a day. I would start work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. I had to get up at 5:30 a.m., get my clothes and things ready, make my coffee, drive,
[07:43] and I was more than half an hour away from work. So, I had to get to work around 7 a.m., leave at 7 p.m., and get home around... 7:30-8:15, completely wrecked, exhausted, ready
[07:58] to shower, have dinner, and go to bed to start all over again. That's what they call the rat race: spending your whole life working, paying, working, paying, working, paying bills, paying bills, paying bills until you're 67
[08:14] or 71, the age at which you can retire here in Spain, if this doesn't change changed the retirement age countless times. So , maybe when I'm 67 , the retirement age will be
[08:28] , the retirement age will be 75 or 77. That means I'd be working from the age of 19, when I started, until 77, 71, I started, until 77, 71, 75, 67. In other words, 70% of your life
[08:42] working for €100, sleeping 6 hours a day, just going to work and sleeping, working and sleeping, to have zero freedoms, zero luxuries, and only freedoms, zero luxuries, and only working to pay bills. I know that
[08:57] in other countries this is even Worse. I know that in Latin America you're Spain, although that's saying something, because Spain is getting worse and worse. And I'm
[09:09] telling you this not to depress you or anything, because you all know the reality, right? We already know that we live in a system, unfortunately, where we work to pay unfortunately, where we work to pay bills and retire at 67 or 71.
[09:21] And that's the reality. I realized this quite early on; I mean, at 22, 21, 23 years old, I was already seeing the writing on the wall, as they say in Spain. I was already seeing what my life was going to be like, what the beginning and
[09:35] end of my life would be: working to pay bills. And I knew, I'm sorry , but that wasn't my path, nor was it the objective or the goal of my life. It wasn't being in a shop, in a supermarket, on my feet for 12 hours to
[09:48] earn 1300 or 100 in the best-case scenario. Therefore, that's when I realized I had to look for an alternative and that Trading was the best alternative. I knew it was either trading or
[10:04] living to pay bills until I was 71. That's when it clicked for me, around 21 or 22. That's when I realized this was a disaster. Spain, this was a disaster. Spain, politics, money, and I wasn't going to
[10:19] work until I was 71 as a security guard. Why was I so sure of that? Well, because my father was and still is a security guard. He only has a year or two left before retirement, and I know what it's like to live to
[10:34] work. My father has worked his whole life, and fortunately, unfortunately, the only thing we have, or the only thing my father has thanks to that job as a security guard, is a house. I think he has 50 years of
[10:48] contributions. He's been working on the streets since he was 12 or 13. For what? To work until he's 67, if they don't raise the retirement age to 71, and only have an apartment that he was able to pay off about five years ago. I didn't want that
[11:03] in my life. I wanted a slightly better life, or at least to die considering my life and my work, I started training and
[11:15] became completely obsessed with trading. I mean, I think I have trading. I mean, I think I have n't opened the TradingView app in six years obsessed with trading, and at that point, I was certain that to achieve
[11:30] anything in trading, to dedicate myself to it, I needed to be completely crazy, obsessed with trading, and nobody was going to be able to stop me. And indeed, I 've achieved it, as you know. And trading, as I've said, has completely changed my life
[11:46] story, although we're about to wrap it up , I started training with Smart Money, with a strategy from an English-speaking community that I think is no longer active or providing information, but anyway
[12:00] . Important detail: I don't speak English, so imagine the effort it took me to understand what they were saying. Let me explain. Why did I decide to go to the English-speaking community, to an English-speaking academy? Well, because
[12:13] in my humble opinion, at that time there wasn't a high level of instruction in Spanish-speaking classrooms. time there wasn't a high level of instruction in Spanish-speaking classrooms. They were very, very mediocre and very bad academies. Therefore, I decided to take the plunge, to study with an
[12:27] English-speaking academy. But I'm telling you this so you can see the level of commitment and know English and I had to watch the videos and understand everything, repeating it three or four times to understand it, because they spoke in English,
[12:42] they spoke fast, in fact, they had a British accent. Do you know what a British accent is like? It's very fast, and if you don't know very good, very fluent English, you're reality. But even so, I focused and started studying Smart Money with them.
[12:55] little better than with trend lines and support and resistance, but I still didn't see very clear results. So, I was with them for quite a few months, I don't know if it was six or seven. For about two months, although I was already
[13:09] studying on my own, analyzing on my own, and, well, researching my entire strategy, right? Based on liquidity points, which were n't mentioned much at that academy, my very tight schedule—I
[13:22] morning and two and a half hours in the afternoon—and the opening times of the focusing only on the highs and lows. I discovered all of this on my own because at that time, at that academy, they
[13:36] only explained the basic, classic smart money strategy we all know, with 300 order blocks and too many explanations and too much complexity. And with that pure strategy, with that classic smart money strategy, I wasn't getting
[13:50] results. So, it was through investigating and studying on my own that I realized all of this, which I explain on my YouTube channel and which is how I currently make a living from trading, using the strategy I developed. I do it all on my own
[14:03] , obviously using some basic concepts, but I practically do on liquidity points, certain entry confirmations I use, and stock exchange opening times . At this point in my life, things
[14:17] have completely changed. I left my job about three years ago, maybe a little longer. And now I 'm a tax resident in Cyprus. I bought a house in Spain without a mortgage. I'll leave
[14:31] so you can see. A couple of months ago, I bought a house with no mortgage thanks to trading. I'm a tax resident in Cyprus. I'm living in a two-story house with a pool, paying €2,000 in rent, and I'm not
[14:45] Those of you who follow me here, and I've been around for quite a while, know that I'm not one to show off or be indifferent to that kind of thing. I'm telling you this purely out of motivation. If I had continued working as a security guard, if I
[14:58] had kept that salary... In my life, I could have spent €2,000 on rent. And it's not just that; obviously, electricity, water, pool maintenance, and everything else is separate. I would never have had a pool all to myself
[15:14] at home if I hadn't quit my job and dedicated myself entirely to trading. Before, for my vacations—15 days in July, 15 days in week in August—I would rent a house with a pool. My vacations consisted of
[15:28] renting a house with a pool from someone, and now I have that house with a pool all year round, and this is all thanks to trading. That's why I say that trading has changed my life. I've already withdrawn more than €250,000
[15:43] in payouts from funding accounts and funding companies, and I'm not making this up like I always do. I'm showing you everything with clear results and proof because I know that, unfortunately, there are many people here who talk too much but don't show
[15:55] here, the certificates with QR codes, all those payouts so you can see that today it really does work. I retired from trading, and thanks to trading, I can afford everything I'm telling you. For many, it might not seem like much,
[16:08] but for me, at 27 years old, when I was earning €100 a few years ago, and now owning an apartment without a mortgage, a house with a pool in Cyprus that costs €2,000 a month, going to any hotel I want with my partner, all-inclusive, flying wherever I please
[16:22] , taking vacations whenever I want, having my own free time—that, honestly, is priceless. And again, thanks to trading, I'm not making this final video to brag; I'm simply doing it to give a
[16:36] are going through tough times in trading, because it's a very demanding business, and you have to be prepared to handle it. It's wonderful when things start going well, but it 's very hard at the beginning. I'm making this video
[16:49] solely to show you that a normal person like you, a 27-year-old guy who was working for €1,300, has made it. Why can't you?
