[00:00] did you know that small YouTubers even

[00:01] ones with small follower accounts can

[00:03] get brand deals and have you ever

[00:05] wondered how much you can get paid for a

[00:06] brand deal in this video I want to share

[00:08] with you the pricing model that you can

[00:09] use the brands are willing to pay even

[00:11] if you have a small subscriber account

[00:12] so stick around by the end of this video

[00:14] you should be aware of the industry

[00:15] standards and maximize your earnings

[00:17] with the right pricing

[00:19] [Music]

[00:22] strategy all right welcome to today's

[00:24] episode for those of you listen on the

[00:25] podcast come check out YouTube and for

[00:27] those of you on YouTube check out the

[00:28] podcast because we've got both platforms

[00:30] rocking and today's video is going to be

[00:32] all about pricing strategies now my name

[00:35] is Joey Valor for partner of profits I

[00:37] work with Brands to help them work with

[00:38] influencers and I also help influencers

[00:40] get brand deals just like you so today

[00:43] we're going to talk about that even if

[00:44] you have a small Channel we're going to

[00:45] start with Point number one Impressions

[00:48] what are Impressions it's your average

[00:49] views you get consistently on each video

[00:52] and how do you figure that out do you

[00:53] look at the last video do you look at

[00:54] the last 20 30 typically Brands what I

[00:57] recommend is look at the last 10 videos

[00:59] tally up those 10 videos and the view

[01:01] counts and then dividing by 10 that

[01:03] should give you your average view count

[01:04] per video as it stands today you need

[01:07] that number in order to determine the

[01:09] pricing in The Next Step so make sure to

[01:11] go do that now pause the video come back

[01:13] number two is your Channel's growth rate

[01:15] percentage even more important than

[01:17] subscriber counts is how fast is your

[01:19] Channel Growing because if you have

[01:21] 5,000 followers today or views and you

[01:24] grew over the past 6 months by 50%

[01:26] that's going to continue to grow and

[01:28] that's what a brand should be aware of

[01:30] it's not necessarily how big your

[01:31] channel is how fast you're growing your

[01:33] growth rate can become very valuable and

[01:35] for Brands looking at YouTubers again I

[01:37] suggest looking at the growth rate which

[01:39] you can calculate by looking at the last

[01:41] 6 months growth if you go to something

[01:43] like socialblade.com or something

[01:44] similar you can go to free analytic

[01:46] tools like this and you can figure this

[01:48] out and it's important to know that as a

[01:50] Creator because that gives you fuel when

[01:52] you're going into your negotiations that

[01:54] yeah you have a small Channel but you're

[01:55] showing a lot of potential now the

[01:57] amount of money that you can make varies

[01:59] significantly depending on the placement

[02:01] opportunities and the strategies that

[02:03] you use whether it's mid-roll pre-rolls

[02:05] Etc but there's some more creative

[02:07] places you can actually start to

[02:08] advertise and monetize and those views

[02:11] and Impressions add up which means more

[02:13] money for you the Creator and listen

[02:16] we're not going to get into that in this

[02:17] video but there is a whole playlist on

[02:19] how to get more brand deals even if you

[02:20] have a small channel so check somewhere

[02:22] in the description or somewhere in this

[02:23] video there's going to be a link to the

[02:24] next video which is going to be all the

[02:26] placement opportunities that I recommend

[02:27] as the prime real estate number three is

[02:30] actually how do you price your

[02:31] impressions so the way that the market

[02:34] usually dictates a price it's called CPM

[02:37] cost per Mill now what they do is they

[02:40] take whatever impression count it is

[02:42] whether it's how many emails are sent

[02:43] how many views you get on a video you

[02:45] divide by th000 and you multiply by a

[02:47] factor of a CPM so cpms now you know

[02:51] that you can go and start to understand

[02:52] this next part which is how do you

[02:54] charge cpms per placement opportunities

[02:57] we're going to cover the most popular

[02:59] ones right now that you might be aware

[03:00] of but there's pre-roll mid-roll post

[03:02] rolls dedicated videos and product

[03:05] placements pre-roll ads are as they all

[03:07] suggest of course they're at the

[03:08] beginning of the video and they're

[03:10] around $45 CPM now this can vary

[03:12] depending on the Creator depending on

[03:13] the brand so take this with a bit of a

[03:15] grain of salt but know that these are

[03:16] the most Prime real estate placements

[03:18] because they're the beginning of the

[03:20] video where people are typically

[03:21] watching mid roll ads it's still

[03:23] valuable they're still engaged

[03:25] potentially and you know especially if

[03:27] you have really good content you can

[03:29] still charge on $40 CPM for that now the

[03:32] next one is post roll this is like the

[03:34] least significant Because by the end of

[03:36] the video people have probably tapered

[03:37] off and it's probably not 100% watch

[03:40] time on all your videos so it's usually

[03:41] $35 CPM and again don't take these

[03:44] numbers so literally just know that

[03:46] pre-roll is the prime placements mid

[03:49] roll is the second best placement and

[03:50] end roll typically is the lowest

[03:52] placement then you have dedicated video

[03:54] now this is the cream of the crop

[03:55] placement for any kind of brand because

[03:58] they have a whole video it could be a

[03:59] five 10-minute review video on the

[04:01] product it could be other ways that you

[04:03] monetize this video of terms of how to

[04:06] explain the product in a different way

[04:08] but your only focus is the product and

[04:10] that brand and their business so you can

[04:12] get creative on how you roll this out

[04:14] but you can typically charge like a 5x

[04:16] CPM so imagine if it's a $50 CPM if it's

[04:20] a product video placement review video

[04:22] type thing you're charging around

[04:24] anywhere from 3 to 5x that amount

[04:26] because of the amount of editing and

[04:27] time it's going to take and then you

[04:29] have product placements now this is just

[04:30] like when you have a product in the

[04:31] video maybe you're not mentioning it

[04:33] maybe you are but it's not a real big

[04:35] Focus you're not spending a lot of time

[04:37] talking it through these are lower

[04:39] values like $20 cpms and again don't

[04:41] take it literally as to how much you

[04:43] should charge although this is a good

[04:44] starting point all right so if you do

[04:46] have a small Channel and if you're a

[04:47] brand looking at a YouTuber with a small

[04:49] Channel and you look at the Impressions

[04:51] and it doesn't seem like you have a lot

[04:52] of money to make don't worry because

[04:54] there's also factors you have to

[04:55] consider when you're sponsoring somebody

[04:57] on YouTube or if you're asking a brand

[04:59] to sponsor you now let's talk about some

[05:01] bonus tips because again you might have

[05:03] a really small Channel today and you

[05:04] might be thinking I can't even charge a

[05:06] CPM that's worth it it might be like 50

[05:07] bucks today for a video 100 bucks first

[05:10] off don't get caught up in that know

[05:12] that a sponsor leads to new sponsors

[05:14] opportunity leads to new opportunity and

[05:16] for the brand side of things consider

[05:19] the micro creators are growing so

[05:21] getting in on the ground floor with them

[05:22] is a lot easier than people who have

[05:25] millions of followers already they're

[05:26] already picked over you can't get in so

[05:28] start the treat micro creators with more

[05:30] respect and here are the bonus tips I

[05:32] have for the Creator side price for your

[05:34] today value you can't lie about your

[05:36] viewers right they can see that Brands

[05:38] can see it it's easy anyone can see it

[05:40] it's public knowledge so price for your

[05:42] today value but factor in what's your

[05:44] growth how fast are you growing I'd put

[05:47] that forth and I'd bake that into the

[05:48] cost a bit because if they lock in a

[05:50] deal today and they only release a video

[05:53] for or 6 months later or 12 months the

[05:55] price is going to change your viewership

[05:57] is going to go up so you want a price

[05:59] for today value but factoring your

[06:00] growth potential the next bonus tip is

[06:03] consider a commission share first off

[06:05] Brands like to hear this and they'll

[06:07] offer longer term deals for these types

[06:09] of things plus you get to make a

[06:11] longtail dividend on that commission

[06:13] from your videos and your viewership

[06:15] going up over time so consider a

[06:17] commission share and then explain the

[06:20] editing cost I like to always bake that

[06:22] in kind of like hey Brand I'd love to

[06:24] work with you on this video This is

[06:25] where my impressions are this my CPM is

[06:27] but I have these editing costs and I'd

[06:29] love to do a bigger video for you and

[06:30] more production value could we factor

[06:33] that into the cost here's what my hard

[06:34] costs are be transparent be honest be

[06:38] upfront Brands appreciate this and

[06:40] you're more likely to sign a longer term

[06:41] deal with communication like this so

[06:44] hopefully took away something from this

[06:46] episode that helps you now position

[06:47] yourself to a brand to possibly get your

[06:49] first brand deal that makes me excited I

[06:52] hope it makes you excited and Brands

[06:54] please do not disregard the small micro

[06:56] creators okay they're valuable they're

[06:58] growing they're hungry you want to work

[07:01] with them now you know the pricing

[07:02] strategy so you can maximize your

[07:03] earnings with YouTube brand deals but if

[07:05] you wonder like I don't know what are

[07:06] the places I can sell on my YouTube

[07:08] channel we talked about a few today but

[07:10] there's 10 really good placements that

[07:12] you can monetize to increase your CPM

[07:15] cost across all these monetization

[07:17] platforms so you're going to want to

[07:19] check out this video and I'm going to

[07:20] link somewhere in the description or on

[07:22] this screen check out this whole

[07:23] playlist to learn how to get more brand

[07:25] deals even if you have a small YouTube

[07:27] channel and a small follower account

[07:30] deserve that brand deal and hey if

[07:32] you're still watching this video and you
