[00:00] Hey folks, this is Khani. Patch 1207

[00:03] offers several new gearing up options

[00:05] which let solo content players get up to

[00:07] item level 285 gear and even higher in

[00:11] some cases. That's the highest item

[00:13] levels solo players have ever been able

[00:15] to obtain during a season. So you can go

[00:18] into season 2 fully decked out like

[00:20] everyone else. So, let's go over the new

[00:22] gearing options in 1207, how you can

[00:24] quickly get hero gear if you're

[00:26] returning to the game, and how you can

[00:28] get your hands on some of the best gear

[00:30] available without jumping into any group

[00:33] content. Now, before we jump in, be sure

[00:35] to hit up that like button and subscribe

[00:37] so you never miss another video. With

[00:40] the arrival of patch 1207, almost every

[00:42] old gearing up option or path has been

[00:45] more or less invalidated. Any gear

[00:48] source below champion isn't really worth

[00:50] spending your time on due to the new

[00:52] zones in this patch. To unlock these

[00:54] zones, you'll need to complete the

[00:56] quests from Riftblade Meia in Silver

[00:58] Moon. Progress through those and you'll

[01:00] open up a portal to one of the two new

[01:02] zones, Val and Nagtal. These zones are

[01:05] on a weekly rotation, so we only have

[01:07] access to one of them at a time, but the

[01:09] gameplay loop is more or less the same

[01:11] for both of them. There are two main

[01:14] rewards that we're interested in here.

[01:16] The first is field accolades. Everything

[01:18] you do in the zone will reward you with

[01:20] the field accolades currency. Whether

[01:22] that's completing world quests and

[01:24] objectives on the map, killing rare

[01:26] spawns, or just looting treasures, it

[01:28] all rewards you with field accolades.

[01:31] Those rewards are higher if you choose

[01:33] to enter the zone on heroic mode, and

[01:35] you can do that using the drop-down menu

[01:37] on the portal or teleporter when you're

[01:39] zoning into these zones. Heroic mode is

[01:42] quite a bit harder, but as long as there

[01:44] are plenty of people running around, it

[01:46] shouldn't be too bad. I would mainly

[01:49] focus on killing rares whenever they pop

[01:51] up. If you're on heroic mode, each rare

[01:54] kill will reward you with 60 field

[01:55] accolades, which is kind of crazy. Every

[01:58] rare also has a chance to drop warbound

[02:00] champion gear. So, that's a very easy

[02:02] source of champion gear if you're

[02:04] playing a lower geared character. and

[02:06] you can scroll away everything you don't

[02:09] need to help gear up your rolls much

[02:10] faster later on. It seems there's about

[02:13] 20 minutes between rare spawns. So keep

[02:15] your eyes peeled for the yell

[02:17] announcement in chat and check your map

[02:19] for where the rare spawned.

[02:22] While you're waiting for the next rare,

[02:23] you can work on the zone quests, world

[02:26] quests, and the bonus objectives on your

[02:28] map. The world quests in these zones are

[02:30] on a much shorter cycle than usual. Each

[02:33] one only lasts an hour and they spawn

[02:35] every 20 minutes from what I can tell.

[02:38] Each one rewards 30 field accolades and

[02:40] they're fairly quick to complete. The

[02:42] bonus objectives appear to be a bit more

[02:44] random, but they will continue to pop up

[02:46] periodically, so they're worth

[02:48] completing as well. Between the world

[02:50] quests, the rare spawns, and the bonus

[02:52] objectives, you should always have

[02:54] something to do in the new zone that

[02:56] will be earning you more field

[02:57] accolades. You should also pick up any

[03:00] treasures that you come across while out

[03:02] adventuring as each treasure contains

[03:04] eight field accolades on heroic mode. So

[03:06] that's going to add up very quickly. And

[03:09] then if you do end up with no rares, no

[03:11] world quests, and you can't find any

[03:13] more treasures, most elites in the zone

[03:16] actually drop five field accolades each

[03:18] when you kill them. This includes the

[03:20] roaming elites that are little schools

[03:22] on the map. So they are actually worth

[03:24] killing. If you see someone fighting an

[03:26] elite and you don't have your next

[03:28] target locked in, go give them a hand.

[03:30] The more people that know that elites

[03:32] are worth killing, the more folks you'll

[03:34] see helping each other out, which just

[03:36] leads to more field accolades for

[03:38] everyone.

[03:40] You'll also want to make sure you pick

[03:41] up the zone weekly quests before heading

[03:44] out. The first one is the showdown

[03:46] weekly quest, and this is just your

[03:48] standard fill the bar type quest, so

[03:50] everything is going to count towards

[03:52] that. When you hand it in, you'll get a

[03:53] bag of goodies that contains 175 field

[03:56] accolades, 15 myth crests, and 15 hero

[04:00] crests. So, you can put all of those

[04:02] rewards to good use. But when you hand

[04:04] that quest in, you'll actually gain

[04:06] access to another weekly quest that

[04:09] rewards another bag of goodies. You can

[04:11] choose between world quests and

[04:13] objectives or rare and elite kills. So,

[04:15] make sure you pick that up before

[04:16] heading back out so you can get another

[04:18] bag with 175 field accolades and 10 hero

[04:22] crests. It doesn't stop there, though.

[04:24] After you complete that quest, you'll be

[04:26] able to choose the other option that you

[04:28] didn't already complete. So, you can

[04:30] actually pick up and complete three

[04:32] weekly quests to take part in the zones

[04:34] activities, and each one will reward you

[04:36] with 175 field accolades. All of these

[04:40] weekly quests can then be repeated on

[04:42] your alts if you really want to. So,

[04:44] that's one way to earn a lot of field

[04:46] accolades quite quickly for each of the

[04:48] characters that you're wanting to gear

[04:50] up before season 1 comes to an end. In a

[04:53] couple of hours play time, I was able to

[04:55] pick up almost 1,700 field accolades.

[04:58] And I know I missed quite a few rares in

[05:00] that time. So, you can earn field

[05:01] accolades quite quickly in the new

[05:03] zones. Now, if you find yourself dying

[05:07] too much on heroic mode, you can just

[05:09] knock the difficulty down to normal and

[05:11] do more or less the same thing. It's

[05:13] just going to be a bit slower because

[05:15] everything rewards fewer field

[05:17] accolades. The rares still drop champion

[05:19] gear though, so it may be a good idea to

[05:21] stay on normal mode until you have a few

[05:23] pieces of champion gear under your belt.

[05:26] But that's going to be up to you and how

[05:27] much you're struggling. I imagine fewer

[05:29] players will be in the normal modes,

[05:31] though, so you might find it difficult

[05:32] to kill the rares or complete objectives

[05:34] if you're all by yourself on a lower

[05:36] geared character. I guess we'll have to

[05:38] wait and see where the player base

[05:40] decides to congregate.

[05:43] Another easy source of gear comes from

[05:45] the new zone world bosses. On heroic

[05:47] world tier, the world bosses can drop

[05:49] hero warbound gear. And this works just

[05:51] like the other world bosses in midnight.

[05:53] So, you aren't guaranteed to get an item

[05:55] your current class can use, but you are

[05:58] guaranteed a piece of gear for your

[06:00] first kill on your account for the week.

[06:02] So, you will get a piece of hero gear.

[06:04] It just might not be the one you want.

[06:06] The good news though is that you can

[06:08] trade it over to an alt. So at least

[06:09] you're gearing up one of your characters

[06:11] with that free piece of hero gear. If

[06:14] you only kill the world boss on heroic

[06:16] mode, you'll also get a piece of

[06:17] warbound champion gear at the same time,

[06:20] which is a nice bonus. The world boss

[06:22] world quest rewards you with over 200

[06:24] field accolades on heroic difficulty,

[06:27] and the quest to kill the world boss

[06:28] rewards another 75, which is a huge

[06:31] chunk to put towards your next piece of

[06:33] gear.

[06:35] Now, before you get your world boss

[06:36] kills in, make sure you pick up the

[06:38] knocking off the top quest from Desimus.

[06:41] This quest requires you to kill the

[06:43] world boss in four different weeks to

[06:44] obtain a special quest item, and it

[06:46] rewards you with a myth track piece of

[06:48] gear. You can choose between a cloak, a

[06:51] belt, and some braces. So, that's one

[06:53] slot that you can fill more or less for

[06:55] free for just keeping up with this quest

[06:57] and getting your world boss kills in

[06:59] each week. I would encourage you to look

[07:01] at the stats on each piece of gear from

[07:03] the quest and compare it with what you

[07:05] would get if you put these pieces of

[07:07] gear into the catalyst. You can easily

[07:09] check your catalyst results by using an

[07:11] add-on like keystone loot. Find the item

[07:13] with the best stats for your class or

[07:15] spec and then lock that item in. Then

[07:17] you can avoid that gear slot when

[07:19] obtaining gear from other sources to

[07:21] make things even more efficient.

[07:24] You can take all of your hard-earned

[07:25] field accolades and spend them to get

[07:27] more champion gear or preferably some

[07:30] hero gear. You can buy champion gear for

[07:32] specific gear slots for 100 field

[07:34] accolades each, which can be worth it if

[07:37] you're still struggling to stay alive in

[07:39] the heroic world tier. But personally, I

[07:42] would recommend saving up for the hero

[07:43] gear boxes instead. You can spend 500

[07:46] field accolades for a random piece of

[07:48] hero gear or 750 if you want to target a

[07:52] specific gear slot. I would probably get

[07:54] the one random box to start off with if

[07:57] you don't have any hero gear yet. That's

[07:59] going to save you 250 accolades for the

[08:01] most part, but after that, I would

[08:03] probably stick to the gear slot boxes.

[08:06] When these hero boxes were first

[08:07] introduced, I bought three random boxes

[08:10] just to test things out, and I got three

[08:12] weapons in a row. So, I don't really

[08:14] trust the odds there. I'd rather kill a

[08:17] few more rares and know that I'm going

[08:18] to get an upgrade. When you're buying

[08:21] your hero gear, remember to avoid buying

[08:23] pieces of gear for the same slot that

[08:25] your Myth Track quest gear is going to

[08:27] be in. So, if you reckon you're going to

[08:29] pick up the belt from that quest in 4

[08:31] weeks time, don't buy a belt from this

[08:33] vendor. You don't want to waste 750

[08:36] field accolades if you can avoid it.

[08:39] So, that's how you can easily kick

[08:41] yourself out in full hero gear just from

[08:43] these new zones, but you can actually go

[08:45] a bit higher thanks to the new

[08:47] difficulty option for ritual sites. Tier

[08:50] six ritual sites reward you with five

[08:52] myth crests per run, and you can run as

[08:54] many as you want, giving solo content

[08:56] players an endlessly farmable source of

[08:59] myth crests for the first time. We also

[09:01] don't have any crest caps to worry about

[09:03] at this point. So, you can just run

[09:04] these over and over again to farm as

[09:06] many myth crests as you want or need.

[09:09] Every 80 myth crests you get. So, for

[09:12] every 16 tier six ritual sites you can

[09:15] sit through, you can spend your crests

[09:17] to upgrade a piece of radiant spark

[09:19] crafted gear to item level 285. That's

[09:22] the highest item level you can get as a

[09:24] solo content player right now. The

[09:26] current spot count is about 16, which

[09:29] means you can craft eight pieces of

[09:30] gear. If you don't include your tier set

[09:33] pieces or trinkets, that means you can

[09:35] cover most of your gear slots with

[09:36] crafted gear right now. You also won't

[09:39] have to craft a piece of gear for the

[09:41] slot that your myth track gear quest

[09:42] will fill in. So, that's one more slot

[09:44] you don't have to worry about. Now, if

[09:46] you haven't made your piece of gear yet,

[09:48] whenever you go to craft it, or whenever

[09:50] you make your crafting order in Silver

[09:52] Moon, just add the crests in down at the

[09:54] bottom of the crafting page. If you get

[09:56] a rank five craft, it will be guaranteed

[09:58] to be item level 285 if you're using

[10:01] myth crests. If you've already made a

[10:03] piece of gear, you can recraft it using

[10:05] your own professions or by making a

[10:07] recrafting order of the crafting order

[10:09] clerks. It won't require as many

[10:11] materials, and you can slot the

[10:12] mythrests in the same way.

[10:15] Because we're mostly interested in the

[10:17] myth crest rewards from the end of your

[10:19] ritual site run, you want to focus on

[10:21] completing them as quickly as possible.

[10:23] To that end, I would use these six

[10:25] challenges, which means turning off

[10:27] malevolent boons and embers and enabling

[10:30] pretty much everything else. Those

[10:31] specific challenges slow you down

[10:33] significantly as you have to clear the

[10:35] obelisks and empowered monsters before

[10:37] you can take on the mini bosses and

[10:39] bosses. With those challenges disabled,

[10:41] you can just focus on completing the

[10:43] objectives, which is just killing the

[10:45] mini bosses and bosses, I would ignore

[10:48] absolutely everything else, including

[10:50] treasures and rares. Getting the lower

[10:52] shrine buffs is still probably worth it,

[10:54] though. Now, because ritual sites are

[10:57] still going to be rewarding you with

[10:59] field accolades, it's probably worth

[11:01] moving on to tier six ritual sites

[11:03] before you are fully equipped in hero

[11:05] gear. Not only are you going to be

[11:07] replacing some of those pieces with 285

[11:10] crafted gear as you earn enough myth

[11:11] crests, but if you wait until you've

[11:13] already bought a full set of hero gear,

[11:15] you won't really have anything to buy

[11:17] with the field accolades that you're

[11:19] getting from farming ritual sites. So, I

[11:21] would probably head on over to ritual

[11:23] sites when you're in about half hero

[11:25] gear and just test the waters. If you

[11:27] need some more gear to make tier six a

[11:29] bit easier, head back to the new zones

[11:31] to keep farming there instead.

[11:34] This is definitely more of a steady burn

[11:36] kind of grind rather than getting it all

[11:39] done at once gearing option. With a bit

[11:41] of practice, you can probably clear a

[11:43] tier six ritual site in 10 minutes or

[11:45] less if you're being efficient. I

[11:47] managed to get my runs down to 7 minutes

[11:49] on my 277 Paladin. But with you needing

[11:52] 16 ritual sites per piece of gear you

[11:55] want to craft, it is still going to take

[11:57] you quite a while.

[11:59] It's also worth noting that if you don't

[12:01] have all of your radiant sparks and

[12:03] you're behind on this specific currency

[12:05] in your currency tab, it's probably a

[12:07] good idea to include some bountiful

[12:09] delve runs to the list. Not only will

[12:12] they help change things up and give you

[12:14] a bit of a different scenery from ritual

[12:15] sites, but you'll still be earning myth

[12:17] crests. You can still get 20 myth crests

[12:20] per week from running four tier 11

[12:22] bountiful delves, and they have a good

[12:24] chance to drop a radiant spark if you

[12:26] missed a few weekly quests. I'm not sure

[12:28] if radiant sparks can drop from ritual

[12:30] sites or from completing content in the

[12:32] new zones. I personally haven't seen

[12:34] any, so keep your eyes peeled for any

[12:36] extra sparks. If they can drop from the

[12:39] new content, fantastic. If they don't,

[12:42] your main option as a solo content

[12:44] player will be delves. And then don't

[12:47] forget, you can use the ascendant void

[12:49] cores from the nil hammer to boost the

[12:51] item level of maxed out crafted hero or

[12:54] myth track weapons and trinkets. So, you

[12:56] can bump up the item level of your hero

[12:58] trinkets as well as your crafted weapon

[13:00] for a little bit of extra damage. And

[13:02] that gets you an item level 295 weapon,

[13:05] which is very shiny indeed. Now, if you

[13:08] want to get your hands on some better

[13:09] gear a bit faster, your only real option

[13:12] would be jumping into mythic plus

[13:13] dungeons and working your way up to plus

[13:15] 10 keystones. They're not too difficult.

[13:18] It just requires a bit of learning and a

[13:19] bit of patience, but that will give you

[13:21] access to guaranteed Myth Track gear by

[13:24] using your void core bonus roles, as

[13:26] well as faster hero gear acquisition and

[13:28] faster Myth crest farming. If you manage

[13:31] to get a full hero gear set from the new

[13:33] zones, but really don't want to do the

[13:35] ritual site farming, mythic plus keys

[13:38] should be very easy with your shiny new

[13:40] hero gear. But if you want to stick to

[13:43] just solo player content, the new zones

[13:45] and tier six ritual sites are where

[13:47] you'll be spending most of your time.

[13:49] But that's how you can get up to item

[13:50] level 285 or higher as a solo content

[13:54] player in patch 1207. So that's it for

[13:56] this video. What are you going to be
