How to Get Twitch Affiliate in a Week

[01:31] an affiliation with twitch the main reason people want this is because it subscribe button so people can subscribe to you at tier one tier two and tier three it also allows you to have emotes for when people subscribe to you and it

[01:45] also allows people to cheer bits as well which is basically twitch's in-built most streamers because you know they want that they're like hey i want to be journey and start to earn some bucks from playing video games there's a lot

[01:57] affiliate as well so i do recommend that if you do become an affiliate which hopefully a lot of you do after watching this video please do read your affiliate there a lot of information that you need to know and people don't read it they're

[02:10] yeah except you know so read through it you need to be aware of what are the requirements the requirements for affiliate are having 50 followers on your twitch channel you need at least

[02:22] seven unique broadcasts in a 30-day period which means you know you can't just go live seven times in one day they have to be seven unique streams at least 500 minutes of broadcasted time in 30 days and in all this time you need to

[02:34] have an average of at least three viewers once you get all that there's no the agreement they're like hey you're great you're part of the affiliate program here you go yes or no so the first thing

[02:46] to become an affiliate is starting your stream with an actual plan yes you might but you're open to other things as well but if you're someone who's coming into this with i want to make an active push on this i really want to grow i really

[02:59] followers and all that kind of stuff you're going to want a plan are you just gonna go live when you're playing games with your buddies each evening anyway or this week i'm streaming this game and this game i'm going to stream on this

[03:12] day at this time and i'm going to stream at this day at this time you have to remember you are starting a show a piece of content that its sole purpose is to what's the point in even streaming you could just play video games and not

[03:24] bother think about it this way if a cast to a tv show showed up one day and had filming that day and they just hit record on all the cameras it would be absolute chaos and not in a good way so come in with a plan i'm not saying that

[03:37] you have to script out your entire stream but know that okay today as per hours the first half an hour i'm gonna do some just chatting i'm gonna talk some viewers in and talk to them in the just chatting category then once that 30

[03:51] minutes is up i'm gonna move into the xyz game category that i'm playing and then i'll go back to just chatting at the end for 10 15 minutes or whatever involved in that plan is really beneficial for viewers especially new

[04:04] you and they want to know when they can watch you again definitely have a loose structure if anything to your streams and to your week on streams number two have solid branding from day one you

[04:18] need to have a solid look and feel to your streams that people can start to when you first start your twitch channel all you want to do is go live and start streaming and like being funny online

[04:30] people get bored with or don't put a lot of effort in at the start now the thing in i know you're thinking like i'll do it another time i'll do it next week year there's so many people who i know have been streaming for so long and i go

[04:45] assets they found by googling twitch logo or twitch panel sometimes this that you might have to get someone to make a logo for you or make some designs for your stream but there are plenty amazing places out there that you can

[04:58] get this stuff very affordably or perhaps you know a friend who's a this kind of thing or you might be able to meet somebody through games who might thing now things you're going to need logo panels some designs for your

[05:12] streams like alerts starting soon screens be right back screens chat boxes you're familiar with them if you're being a streamer or watch streams those you're starting off because it gives your audience a look and feel to relate

[05:26] to now your branding does not have to be 100 like permanent when you first start out when i first started out i hired some logo designer on fiverr for like 20 bucks and they did absolutely everything and it was fine for me for about eight

[05:39] completely rebranded my entire channel and design and put a bit more of an where it is now i think it looks a lot more sleek and more kind of grown up i know get something in there to fill in those blanks and get your brand done and

[05:54] nice it just kind of looks a bit unprofessional not very appealing to somebody when they go on a channel and there's just like a green box here and a nothing's kind of coherent and fitting together it looks like you're taking

[06:08] streaming a lot more seriously when you have put time and effort into this stuff so definitely get your branding nailed as soon as you can number three have an idea of what you're going to stream on twitch what kind of streamer do you want

[06:21] to be do you want to be just chatting streamer are you an artist are you a or are you something that's never been done on twitch one of the things that while when they first start anyone who's been doing it for long enough will agree

[06:34] with me on this is finding your voice finding your style and niche of content i'm a bit of a believer that you can't really just find that out from day one you can't know that before you go in it's like me here on youtube i started

[06:46] completely pivoted now i make these type of videos new ones every week for those a rough idea of what type of creator you'd like to be going forward it really allows you to get better at that from very early on let's say if you're into

[07:01] games and does a lot of chatting and a lot of kind of crazy ideas on his on his like to be like you've got the idea that you want to be that kind of creator one but the fact that you know that that's kind of an inspiration to you or

[07:15] appealing to you you can start to practice that you're not going to be and your first day week or month on twitch isn't an accurate reflection on now but having a rough idea of what style of content you want to make or

[07:30] what sort of creator you want to be will really help you get better because it's focus on those areas that you can get better at down the line it also allows because you can point out things that maybe you need to work on going forward

[07:44] warzone and stuff like that but i also used to kind of sprinkle in variety games uh every kind of second day on my streams from that i figured out that i playthroughs of games that i've never played before and put a massive emphasis

[07:58] on chat helping me get through those games and that today is still my thing changed i still identified that i wanted to be that type of creator and i was with ideas that revolved around that sort of content style from very early on

[08:12] on the channel decide where your main push is going to be it's pretty common knowledge now that if you want to grow on twitch you have to have somewhere else to post content instead of just streaming honestly i'm going to get a

[08:24] make content on other platforms somewhere that i could just to grow on twitch you need to be active somewhere else i don't care where it is tik tok a lot of people like youtube but you know there's plenty of places that

[08:39] you can try you need to decide where your main push is and what your main platforms of content creation are going to be for me it's youtube and at times given up on tick tock it doesn't suit my content style i'm afraid i'm not a short

[08:52] form guy okay i'm a long-form guy all right i'm a youtube guy and it serves doing it and people watch these videos and they come and say hello on my twitch this video right now there's a high chance that i'm live go check me out

[09:05] a q a on my stream what i would have done differently if i was starting my twitch channel from scratch today and my first answer was start a youtube channel way earlier on i made no other content anywhere else for my first year of

[09:17] streaming other than on twitch and it's such a regret of mine that i did not start earlier so deciding on another platform that you enjoy is really really beneficial early on and will be a massive benefit to your

[09:30] awesome fortnite streamer a great place to post the clips you get on stream will just chatting streamer who does all these very cool challenges maybe you and put them out in little 10 minute segments experiment on all of those

[09:45] posting on the most or whichever one you feel will be the most beneficial to your content absolutely get posting there as quickly as you can and use it as a tool to cycle people into twitch i've worked with creators before who kind of say

[09:59] posting shorts and i'm posting tick tocks but a lot of the time when i look at their content there's never any cta or call to action at the end of these a cta would be you know at the end of a tick tock you'll have a bit of text that

[10:12] says want to see more live link in bio to my stream you know something like youtube shorts link your twitch in the description or put in a pinned comment under the video it's not enough to rely on people you know actively searching

[10:24] you're good so if you're posting on these other platforms make it easy to find you give yourself the best chance at that conversion from another platform to twitch as possible promote yourself not in another streamer's chat but

[10:36] streaming you definitely need to tell first day on twitch nobody's going to know that you're live it's going to be there's most likely going to be nobody watching you that's okay that's the same

[10:48] that don't worry remember that there was also a point where you know xqc had zero things i get asked by like you know new streamers is oh should i make a facebook page just for streaming things my answer is no because if you're

[11:03] a twitter with a couple of followers on it that's your own personal twitter why might be your friends in real life but they could be people who are interested people who i went to school with that i hadn't seen in like a couple of years

[11:16] who like regularly like every day watch my stream shout out danny but they only started i posted on it on my own personal channels so if it's something to just start from scratch and have a complete twitter dedicated to nothing

[11:29] instagram dedicated to nothing but streaming things because one it's really you've already got some people there to tell about your stream that's fantastic you're in a group chat with your buddies like text them be like hey everybody i'm

[11:44] if any of you want to come hang out in it do because in those early days having messages in your chat even if they're just your friends it's really good you know learning how to respond to messages and remembering to check the

[11:56] great practice for when people who aren't your friends are going to start promoting yourself to your already existing circles not in other streamers chats that that doesn't work it's dumb and they'll just annoy people make sure

[12:09] the stuff you have to stream actually works now contrary to what some people will tell you you do not need to have the greatest camera in the world or the start your twitch journey you can upgrade all that stuff later if you want

[12:22] to or you know just be like xqc and just use the same camera and microphone for all time but what you do need to do is make sure that what you do have works is your stream like running okay or is it like two frames a second do you need to

[12:35] drop down some settings doesn't matter if it's not perfect 1080p 60 frames a doesn't matter if you don't have a webcam do you have a microphone you have once we can hear you at least and see what's on your stream you're good to go

[12:49] don't worry about like the whole attitude of like well i really want to start a twitch channel but my my rtx 3090 uh won't be available for six know i gotta save up like 80 thousand dollars to buy the latest red camera so

[13:03] that i can stream an 8k video and otherwise no one will watch me or i need otherwise no one will watch me or i need a neumann u87 which is like a 4 000 euro microphone otherwise i can't stream no way you don't need to do that just start

[13:15] literally my advice to you is just start i don't care if it's on your phone or if it's on your laptop or whatever just start you will be surprised who will come and watch you and finally don't speed run this just because i did

[13:29] possible to do in a week doesn't mean you have to do it in a week one of my viewership which is like hundreds of viewers and it took him four months to different folks just because it might take me a week or it might take you a

[13:44] there's ways to rush this stuff i talked about it in my previous video about you that stuff speed running it isn't going to like magically boost your numbers overnight just because you

[13:57] that you're like a shoe-in to be the next best streamer on twitch and the time you spend gaining twitch affiliate is also valuable experience people want subs and they really want bits however just because you are an affiliate

[14:11] viewers have to be there for the subscribers to come after that so take your time don't rush it don't join some stupid follow for follow scheme let it happen naturally let it happen organically you will get there it's okay
