▶ Play ClipThis video provides a straightforward guide on how to become a Twitch affiliate in 2022. The creator outlines the three key requirements—50 followers, 7 streaming days in 30 days, and an average of 3 concurrent viewers—and offers practical advice on achieving them efficiently.
To become a Twitch affiliate, you need 50 followers, stream for 7 days in a 30-day period, and reach an average of 3 concurrent viewers.
Streaming for 7 days in a 30-day period is the easiest requirement, as most streamers already do this.
Getting 50 followers is challenging if you rely solely on Twitch discovery. The creator recommends posting short-form content on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or Instagram Reels to build an audience that will follow you on Twitch.
Achieving 3 average viewers is the hardest part. Streaming for 6-12 hours to 1-2 viewers hurts your channel analytics. The creator advises streaming only 1-2 hours and stopping when viewership drops below 3.
The 30-day period is a rolling window, not a fixed month. Each day, the oldest day drops off. Streaming to low viewers for long periods makes it harder to raise your average.
Ask a friend or loved one to log into Twitch, open your stream, and leave it running on their computer to help boost your viewer count.
If your viewership falls below 3, end the stream immediately. Continuing to stream to low numbers hurts your average and delays affiliate status.
Becoming a Twitch affiliate is achievable by focusing on the three requirements and avoiding common mistakes like streaming too long to low viewership. Use short-form content to build an audience and leverage friends to hit the 3-viewer average.
