07:21[00:00] 3 million views 5 million views 9
[00:02] million views about 1 year into starting
[00:05] shorts I had finally figured out the
[00:08] blueprint to consistently going viral
[00:10] and today I'm going to be passing that
[00:12] knowledge onto you this video won't be a
[00:14] basic tutorial where I tell you to use a
[00:17] certain Niche or hashtags all of that
[00:19] stuff is you'll be learning the
[00:21] exact formula that top creators use to
[00:24] blow up all of their shorts so Focus up
[00:27] take notes if you'd like and let's get
[00:29] started
[00:34] before we can talk about breaking the
[00:36] algorithm we need to understand how it
[00:38] works and also how it can be exploited
[00:41] and first things first it's not random
[00:44] and it has nothing to do with luck the
[00:46] algorithm simply shows the best most
[00:48] engaging content on the platform so as
[00:51] long as you can make engaging shorts
[00:53] with high retention then blowing up is
[00:56] pretty much guaranteed and to prove that
[00:58] statement let's go back to one when I
[01:00] was just starting out on
[01:02] shorts I had basically no idea what I
[01:05] was doing and my shorts wouldn't even
[01:07] break a 100 views but I kept improving
[01:10] my content until I finally started
[01:13] having success on the channel I believe
[01:15] it took about 4 months for me to hit 10K
[01:18] subscribers but here's where it gets
[01:20] crazy on my next Channel after that I
[01:23] hit 10K Subs in 3 weeks simply because I
[01:27] was more experienced and knew how to
[01:29] make better content cont so believe me
[01:31] when I say the algorithm always
[01:33] recognizes good shorts and pushes them
[01:35] forward and you'll start seeing this
[01:37] happen with your shorts if you do
[01:39] everything I tell you
[01:48] to everything else is completely useless
[01:52] if you neglect this step an interesting
[01:54] topic is the basis of every viral Shore
[01:57] out there and without it you can never
[01:59] hope to get many views so start with
[02:01] this think of your intended audience the
[02:04] people in your Niche what do they want
[02:06] to see what type of videos are already
[02:08] performing well in your space take some
[02:11] time to consider these questions I also
[02:13] suggest that you go research the big
[02:15] channels in your Niche to see what vide
[02:17] types worked well for them now I found
[02:19] this Creator's Channel and I think it's
[02:21] a perfect example of why those things
[02:24] are so important if we look at his most
[02:26] popular shorts you'll see that the
[02:28] topics are aimed at a younger audience
[02:30] mostly school kids therefore when he
[02:32] starts making videos that don't appeal
[02:34] to younger school kids you can see that
[02:36] his views shoot way down but now if we
[02:39] look at his most recent short he got a
[02:41] lot more views than usual because he
[02:44] again started targeting his core
[02:45] audience so always consider who your
[02:47] audience is and what they want to watch
[02:50] now just by following that advice your
[02:52] video ideas will be 10 times better than
[02:55] they were before but there's still more
[02:57] to it take a look at this short and try
[02:59] try to see what's wrong with it Mr Beast
[03:02] shared the key secret to his success on
[03:04] YouTube and it's not what you'd expect
[03:07] like all you need to do this this
[03:09] applies to people who have not uploaded
[03:11] videos but have dreams of being a
[03:12] YouTuber is make a 100 videos and
[03:14] improve something every time all right
[03:15] the video continues for 20 more seconds
[03:18] but we can pause it there so what went
[03:20] wrong well the topic itself wasn't the
[03:22] issue it was pretty attention grabbing
[03:24] and the audience probably initially
[03:26] stayed to watch but this short still
[03:28] would have never performed well because
[03:31] the Creator made a huge mistake that you
[03:33] might be making as well for a minute
[03:35] pretend you're the audience of this
[03:37] short so the video idea was introduced
[03:40] to us at the beginning how Mr Beast got
[03:42] successful we got interested and decided
[03:45] to watch to find out how but only 5
[03:48] seconds later we immediately got what we
[03:50] came for Mr Beast revealed how he got
[03:53] successful so there was no more
[03:55] anticipation and we ended up scrolling
[03:57] away the terrible mistake this Creator
[04:00] made was paying off the topic too
[04:02] quickly ideally the secret should have
[04:04] been revealed at the end that way the
[04:07] audience had to keep watching in order
[04:09] to find it out this shows us that the
[04:11] delivery and execution of the topic are
[04:14] equally as important as the actual idea
[04:16] which takes me to my next
[04:24] point this is a huge aspect to master if
[04:27] you want to effortlessly make viral
[04:29] content editing is how you present your
[04:32] video the external things like cutting
[04:35] pacing and captions structure is how you
[04:39] compose your video with things like
[04:41] storytelling and payoffs learn how to
[04:43] combine good structure and good editing
[04:46] and you'll be going viral with every
[04:48] single post and to help you guys with
[04:50] that there's a system that I use called
[04:53] HPC which I'll break down for you guys
[04:55] starting with h the hook the first 5
[04:58] Seconds of your shorts also the most
[05:01] important part of your content your hook
[05:03] should introduce the topic of the video
[05:05] while still leaving the viewer with a
[05:07] lot of questions look at how this
[05:09] Creator executed his hook on a short
[05:11] with over 70 million views I want to be
[05:14] the first person to have a snowball
[05:16] fight in the desert all right let's
[05:17] break that down so it was fast-paced and
[05:20] attention grabbing no pauses quick music
[05:23] with captions on the screen but it also
[05:25] gave us a lot of questions how's he
[05:27] going to have a snowball fight in thead
[05:30] where is he going to get snow how did he
[05:31] even get in a desert so we would have
[05:34] continued watching to answer those
[05:35] questions and that leads us to the
[05:38] second letter of HPC progression but
[05:41] there's a problem it's hot out here the
[05:43] sand won't form balls and we don't have
[05:45] any snow so Braden and I grabbed our
[05:47] cooler and headed for the mountains it
[05:49] was a long voyage and I often wondered
[05:50] if it was going to be worth it right so
[05:52] we're progressing along in the short and
[05:55] notice how the Creator is meeting the
[05:57] expectations he set in the intro he said
[05:59] he was going to have a snowball fight in
[06:01] the desert so now he's fulfilling that
[06:04] promise and literally showing the
[06:06] adventure to get snow this is something
[06:08] you have to do in your shorts imagine if
[06:11] he said okay now let's get some snow and
[06:13] then he walks to his car and pulls out a
[06:16] cooler filled with ice that would be
[06:18] terrible right we'd be so disappointed
[06:20] so make sure that the idea given in the
[06:23] intro matches the actual content now the
[06:26] final letter of HPC stands for climax
[06:29] the climax is the moment that the topic
[06:32] is fulfilled and the audience finally
[06:34] gets what they came for which in this
[06:36] case is a snowball fight in the desert
[06:39] now there's only one thing that two men
[06:40] can do with a cooler full of snow throw
[06:43] it at each other and that wraps up
[06:45] everything nicely that was overall a
[06:47] very good short the use of editing
[06:49] complimented the video Style the music
[06:52] was fitting he threw some jokes in there
[06:54] as well and the storytelling was very
[06:56] effective even if your Niche is
[06:58] completely different from this guy if
[07:00] you apply his same tactics to your own
[07:03] content you'll start seeing your shorts
[07:05] get hundreds of thousands of views and
[07:07] also never be afraid to imitate other
[07:10] creators learning from successful
[07:12] channels is a very important part of
[07:15] improving your
[07:21] shorts so at this point you should have
[07:24] the knowledge to make a good short but
[07:27] we're not done yet most people are
[07:28] limiting their views without even
[07:30] realizing it because they Overlook some
[07:33] crucial details about the actual posting
[07:35] of their content and I'm not talking
[07:37] about hashtags or the title that's only
[07:40] the tip of the iceberg on one of my
[07:42] earlier shorts channels I was kind of
[07:44] just experimenting with my uploads
[07:46] seeing if there was an ideal post
[07:48] frequency and time of day and what I
[07:50] found was actually pretty interesting
[07:52] first the day of the week didn't matter
[07:55] at all I had shorts fail and succeed on
[07:58] literally every day of the week but what
[08:00] actually did matter was the time of
[08:02] posting I noticed that my shorts posted
[08:04] in the morning would get noticeably
[08:06] higher views than any other time of day
[08:09] but that doesn't mean you should post in
[08:11] the morning let me show you something if
[08:13] you go to the analytics tab in studio
[08:15] press audience and scroll down a bit you
[08:17] can see the times when your audience is
[08:19] most active and if you look at my graph
[08:22] the morning is when I get the most
[08:24] traffic which means it's the best time
[08:26] to post for me but for you it's probably
[08:29] different so align your posting times to
[08:31] when your audience is most active now I
[08:34] also experimented with upload frequency
[08:36] how often you should post but the
[08:38] results I got weren't very
[08:39] straightforward between two channels I
[08:41] posted as little as twice per week and
[08:44] as often as four times per day just to
[08:47] see which was most effective so right
[08:49] off the bat four times per day was too
[08:52] much usually only half of them would
[08:54] ever get picked up by the algorithm and
[08:56] my overall quality of content dropped on
[08:59] on the other end posting twice per week
[09:01] worked better however it was kind of
[09:04] boring and unproductive since I could
[09:06] have been making more shorts in that
[09:08] time now I found that once per day was a
[09:10] sweet spot because I had enough time to
[09:13] make highquality posts while still
[09:15] posting enough to get consistent
[09:17] exposure but if you find that once per
[09:19] day is too much it's fine to tone it
[09:21] down really the most important thing is
[09:24] that you stay consistent and don't go
[09:26] too long without uploading or else
[09:28] you'll end up losing a a lot of momentum
[09:31] so that's my proven advice to making
[09:33] viral shorts if you want some more

[09:37] on retention then click the link in the
