How to Master Combat in Beast of Reincarnation

[00:02] fresh spin on a familiar formula. Like Seiro and so many other modern melee action games. It is based heavily around parries, but you also have to manage several different meters, keep track of enemy weaknesses, balance using your K9

[00:15] companion, think about whether to switch from melee to range combat, etc. There's having trouble getting the hang of Beast of Reincarnation's combat, here's a quick primer going over it all.

[00:36] only got one main attack button in the right bumper and up to a four hit combo by mashing it out four times. There's no charge attack by holding down the button or extra combo string by changing up the rhythm of your button presses. One very

[00:49] important thing to note is that any attack out of this combo is cancellable at any time. So you never have to worry about overcommitting on offense since you can always immediately cancel into a guard even while you're mid combo. This

[01:03] means it's important to be aggressive and active on offense, but always be and active on offense, but always be looking to parry an enemy's attack.

[01:16] dodge and you do get rewarded with a counterattack for timing it perfectly, you'll still want to default to parrying when possible. It's simply the more rewarding and safer option. The one exception is when an enemy telegraphs

[01:28] one of their attacks with the red flash. These attacks have to be dodged as they or parry. As you progress through the game, you'll eventually start to unlock new blade arts and Nushi arts that will expand your combat options dramatically.

[01:42] To start, you have Shakuyaku and climbing Higabana. Shakuyaku is an by simply pressing square on PlayStation 5 or X on Xbox to execute a quick two-hit combo that deals extra damage and stagger for just one bar of your

[01:57] and stagger for just one bar of your entanglement gauge. max out their stagger bar and open them up for an execution. Be careful about using it too liberally against tougher enemies though as your entanglement

[02:11] gauge is a safety net that will let you block attacks even if you mist time the parry. Blocking without parrying will chip away at your meter. And if you're cop blocking without any meter left in the tank, you'll be staggered yourself

[02:23] and left totally defenseless for a few seconds. As you might imagine, based on the above, parrying is essential in Beast of getting staggered, staggers your opponents.

[02:37] It builds resources for both you and coup, and it activates your weapon's unique effect. It literally opens up all of your combat options while also keeping you alive. As such, you need to make sure that you're paying close

[02:50] attention to each enemy's attack patterns. Most enemies don't have more than two or three different attack chains, so try to identify what's coming by the first windup, and try to remember the points in the combo where you'll

[03:02] need to delay or speed up your next parry attempt. As you progress down the skills that open up new combat options for you. How you approach combat play style, but here are some recommendations of some strong

[03:17] recommendations of some strong strategies to mix and match. in the middle skill tree for Emma, which is largely devoted to powers that

[03:31] involve using her hair in combat. Sprout Shakuyaku will enable you to sprout a large flower straight ahead, letting you leap into an engagement or disengage just as easily. The next skill just underneath it, Helm spplitter, is the

[03:44] come crashing down from the air with a powerful AoE attack. Pump a bunch of able to do heavy damage to both groups of enemies and bosses. Combining it with

[03:56] climbing Higanbana, which is done by pressing the attack button once and then pressing square on the PlayStation or X on the Xbox, is another great way to putting down a plant that you can grapple to, which will enable even more

[04:10] damage. Eventually, you'll get new Nushi skills that allow you to follow up Helm spplitter with more attacks and even another aerial skill that will let you crash down in a specific area and sprout damaging plants all around. If you like

[04:23] the style of using flowers at sproutable grapple points and starting off engagements by dealing a lot of AoE damage, this is a great combat style to damage, this is a great combat style to employ.

[04:39] enemy is weak to by looking for this icon next to their health bar. And then you can match that icon with something in your own combat kit that does the same type of damage. You can look to your range weapons,

[04:52] coups blooms, or your melee weapon, all of which have their own specific damage further enhance damage to enemy weaknesses by equipping mods to K's blue bloomarts. Status effect amp, for example, will double the status effect

[05:06] buildup on an enemy, which will always temporarily stun them the moment the this mod on the left branch of Ku's skill tree. There are several other mods whenever you inflict certain status ailments, which makes this side of the

[05:21] skill tree a great option if you want to make this a key part of your combat.

[05:33] can be extremely powerful. Partially because your crossbow and bow and arrow are some of the best ways to inflict the aforementioned status ailments, but also because there are several other tricks you can utilize to maximize your range

[05:45] damage. For one, the left skill branch of Emma's skill tree is chalk full of great skills for range combat. Even the core skill that is available right from the start, tracking shot, can dramatically increase your range damage

[05:57] track foes and pierce through them a number of times. A little further down range attacks a chance to not consume any ammo and is especially great for the

[06:09] rapid firing crossbow. And if you invest a little more heavily into this branch straight up damage multipliers for both the crossbow and bow and arrow.

[06:25] dance takes, you can enhance it further by synergizing your charms and spirit stones with them. If you're focusing on range damage, definitely keep an eye out for the sharpshooter skill gem, which gives a 25% chance to restore Ku's FP by

[06:38] one whenever you target an enemy's weakness with a range attack. Empowered headsh shot, faster reloads, and fire rate are other stones you'll definitely want to consider as well. Another potential avenue for you to travel is

[06:51] critical damage. There are a ton of spirit stones that can help you out here. Most stones that have entangled in the name will increase your critical rate by a certain percentage on top of whatever other primary effect it has.

[07:03] Critical damage increase offers just a straight up boost in critical damage. critical rate whenever Emma is recovering HP, which is easy enough to make happen all of the time by making sure you regularly feed Emma and Coup

[07:17] charms either. You'll amass a ton of these over the course of your adventure, and they can offer very substantial buffs that can synergize well with for. Make sure to note both the standard effect and the randomized secondary

[07:31] effect. Sometimes the secondary effect can be even better than the primary one, through your collection. Finally, don't get overly attached to a single sword. Most swords have the same base stats, and the only real differences between

[07:45] them are their damage type and their unique sword effect, which kicks in whenever you land a parry. Some swords, like shark cutter, which has a unique sword effect that lasts 5 seconds and increases your crit chance by 10% every

[07:57] time you and coup attack, or the light neck blade, which increases the damage of your second attack by 1.1, and your critical chance by 50%, are integral to critical hit builds. Others, meanwhile, are great when it comes to targeting an
