Why You're Not Rich: Trading Isn't a Slot Machine
60sChallenges common misconceptions about trading with a bold, contrarian take that sparks curiosity and debate.
▶ Play Clip"The title promises urgency but delivers a motivational vlog with some solid trading advice buried in vacation footage."
A day trader shares his philosophy on trading discipline, emphasizing the importance of focusing on monthly income rather than daily or weekly results, and the need to change behavior to succeed. He illustrates his points with personal anecdotes from a vacation in Orlando, including a profitable trade that paid for his trip.
Most traders misunderstand trading, thinking it's easy or a slot machine. It's not; it requires skill and discipline.
The speaker preaches monthly income over daily or weekly, because trading outcomes are not fully controllable. Some months are slow, and that's okay.
During hot months, traders may feel invincible and think daily income is possible, but this is delusional. Slow months are a grind and require patience.
When facing break-even or losing weeks, traders often want to switch strategies. The advice is to stay the course and keep following the plan.
The speaker made $1,191 on a 5-lot trade (about $5,000) plus close to $1,000 on a live account, totaling around $6,000 for the day, which paid for his trip.
Confidence in trading behaves like an uptrend: it goes up, pulls back, and goes up again. Slumps are normal, even for the best traders, but consistency brings it back.
Trading is not a game; consistent profits come from skills, not luck. To build skills, you must change your behavior and act like a profitable trader.
Referencing 'Atomic Habits', the speaker emphasizes creating small habits (like writing down not to revenge trade) that snowball into lasting behavioral change.
Worrying about daily or weekly income messes with your head. Instead, aim for monthly profitability, accepting that some weeks will be break-even or losing.
Trading success comes from consistent, disciplined behavior and a long-term monthly perspective, not from chasing daily wins. Stay the course, build small habits, and the results will follow.

19:13[00:16] you decide to do that, guess what? You want to get average results, right? Most traders don't understand this game at a high level. We want to talk about that later, but please do not behave the same way as most traders behave. So, today
[00:29] I'm going to Orlando to see my best friend. Basically, he didn't see the supercar yet. And you know, I just I don't know exactly what I'm going to do there, but basically I'm going to go
[00:42] there and then relax. But of course, I'm going to I have like at least one day to trade. So, I'm going to definitely take a trade. Today I took a trade with the Discord. First trade was a loser. Second trade was a winner. So, pretty much up
[00:55] that trade later on. So, yeah. So, that's pretty much it. Lately I've just been basically, you know, losing losing a lot of weight. I don't know if you can tell. And you know, since I'm going away, every time I
[01:08] go away on vacation I gain weight. So, I know I'm going to gain at least 10 lb going to lose it right back, you know what I'm saying? But overall, go there. I'm not even worried about, you know, diet. I'm just going to eat, you know,
[01:21] the pounds again, you know? But yeah, right now I'm just going to Orlando.
[01:41] most traders really don't understand trading. They think it's like either easy or it's a slot machine where you can just win
[01:53] day. And it's not like that, guys. It's not. Okay, this is why I preach monthly income and I think I'm really the only
[02:07] that will basically talk about monthly income. Because everybody else talks about daily something or weekly. you have to understand that trading
[02:23] is a thing that you don't have really no control of. So, certain months are going to be slow. You can't control that. You know, so the way to go about it is forget about
[02:37] how much can you make in a day, how much can you make in one week. Do monthly income. what's going to happen is you're going to have months where you're on fire,
[02:50] you're hot, you can't lose. And that's going to make you It's going to uh you delusional and it's going to blind you and make you feel like, "Oh, I can make daily income." And yeah, you you you were making daily
[03:04] And yeah, you you you were making daily income or weekly income and that's because you had a hot month, all right? But, there are some months where it's just a grind, bro. It's a grind like
[03:18] next day you're losing, next day you're winning, next day you're losing. So, you're like you break even for the week and then the following week, same thing, You probably didn't make nothing that week. But, it could be those last 2
[03:31] weeks where boom, out of nowhere, that's your whole month, okay? Those 2 weeks is understand that you know, they can be like either the first 2 weeks or your first last week,
[03:46] whole month. And you have to be okay with that. You have to just keep pushing. Keep at it. Right? Keep trading
[03:58] through the growing pains, through the the the painful market. Cuz, you know, um lately it been kind of suspect, but I was still able to be profitable for the month.
[04:14] Okay? And that's because I understand the process. I understand like, bro, some weeks is going to be trash. So, usually when people have these slow
[04:27] weeks or break even weeks, they want to switch strategies, okay? And I'm telling you right now, do not switch strategies. Just pain. And you're going to see, "Oh, shoot. I'm
[04:42] And you're going to see, "Oh, shoot. I'm profitable for the month."
[05:20] hotel in the room. Uh I'm in a Ritz-Carlton right now, so I'm tired, you know. I'm not going to lie. I'm I'm I'm going to basically >> [clears throat] >> Um I'm probably not going to do nothing
[05:32] But they got a like a water slide over there. I think I'm going to do that the pool. I don't know. Anyway, um yeah, so basically
[05:44] take a nap and, you know, chill out cuz I'm tired. I'm tired tired. Yes, yes, and I'm going to show you guys my breakfast. I just ordered some breakfast, so basically, um
[05:57] I'm not going to eat all this. Um probably eat maybe a little bit of this, a little bit, some French toast, but uh yeah. So, I'm basically having my breakfast and um probably eat 20% of this. I'm not going
[06:13] Um but anyway, so that's my breakfast. Um I'm going to look for some trades later on. Hopefully, you know, the market, you know, is clear today and acts right and uh I
[06:26] get some good trades. So, I gave out the game plan today and basically I was these levels. Possible short, but I I kind of want to go long, so I'm hoping we get a dip to go long right here, but if not, I'm
[06:39] looking for uh shorts around this area and, you know, I'll see, you know, what happens with that, but um I'd rather a long, but right now the market is moving without me. So, um if I get a pullback though, right here, man, anywhere around
[06:54] here, I'll definitely go long and uh I'll you know, I'll see from there, but that's what I'm looking at right now, and yeah, I'll keep you guys updated. and yeah, I'll keep you guys updated. Boy, so basically I took this short uh
[07:06] at that resistance that I talked about right here. I sent that to my Discord. that TP right here. Let's see. Let's go a little closer. TP. All right. Come on.
[07:19] That's TP right there. Come on. Come on. Ugh, you know how Nasdaq is. strong right now, so we got to wait though. All right, I'll keep you guys updated cuz this might take forever, man. Oh oh oh, it's coming. It's coming.
[07:34] Come on. Come on, TP. Come on, TP, man. Come on, stop playing. Come on, please. Man. TP, let's get it, please. Oh my gosh. All right, now this might take forever.
[07:47] Come on, TP. TP. TP.
[07:59] with me. Can I get some W's in the chat? Let's Can I get some W's in the chat? Let's get it.
[08:15] >> [clears throat] >> Can I get some W's in the chat? Let's >> Can I get some W's in the chat? Let's get it. Stop playing, bro.
[08:28] get some W's in that chat. Let's get some W's in that chat. Let's get some W's in that chat. Guys, I made 1,191 * 5, so it's 5,000 on that one. And then on my live account, I made like close to 1,000, so
[08:43] pretty much like 6,000 for the day. Let's get it. Yes, yes, yes. Made that trade, bro. You don't understand how it feels. It's like a release because the market could play with you, right? Like this week was one of those weeks
[08:57] where the market was playing with me. But at the end of the week, I was just chipping away, chipping away, chipping away, making profits, making profits. Friday was like like a good day where I'm like
[09:12] this is what day trading can do for you, man. That alone paid for my trip. Like come on, bro, you know? And I would never tell you that day trading is easy. It's not. But it's rewarding, you know? Because
[09:27] if you just keep grinding and understanding the levels, the direction, know, get the rewards from that, you know? And
[09:39] even if you, like, in my opinion, looking at directions, looking at the levels is is like the best thing you can do. you. That's why I created the mentorship. So, come through. But,
[09:52] overall, once you do that, you know, um you will be ahead of most traders cuz most traders they bro, what they do is if the market goes up, they sell. Like, that's that's their strategy, you know? And in in my
[10:07] opinion, you have to have a game plan before the market opens, right? And that's what I do, okay? Sometimes I go live. Right now, I didn't want to go live because um I'm on vacation, but yesterday I went live. But, anyway, um
[10:20] today was a good day and I just wanted to show you guys the whole process. Um yesterday was a profitable day, too. So, yeah, um later on I'll probably go to the pool. But, man, you don't understand
[10:34] >> when especially when the market been acting stupid lately, and then you finally chipping away to gain back profits, profits, one of the best feelings in the world.
[11:06] pool and um just relax. I didn't go to I didn't stay in that long. Um I'm going to go out now. Probably get my my car, drive around a little bit, my my car, drive around a little bit, and um go from there. Maybe go
[11:19] other than that, um I'm chilling right now. They got like a lazy pool over out later, though. And they got like a a water big water don't know. I think it I might do that tomorrow, though.
[11:33] I got, you know, some stuff to do today. But overall, yeah. You know, I I don't really get out that much, bro. Like, for real, man. You got to work hard and
[11:46] for real, man. You got to work hard and play harder. Guys, in life, you have to be your own cheerleader. If you're not cheering for yourself, nobody will. So,
[12:00] to be happy for yourself. You got to motivate yourself. It comes from you first. Right? Don't ever rely on anybody outside. So, right about now, I'm driving.
[12:13] it's raining. Like, sometimes, like, you know, in summertime, guys, you know, Florida, it rains like this. But it's not like a rain sometimes all day. It just rains, you know, just for a
[12:26] But I don't want to touch on a, you know, one thing where, you know, when it comes to confidence, guys, when it comes to confidence when it when trading, like, trading is a trading is a
[12:39] confidence game. And your confidence will basically like a uptrend, okay? So,
[12:54] like a uptrend, it goes up, and then pulls back a little bit, goes up again. That's how your confidence, you know, could actually look like if it's trending the right way. So, your confidence will dip during
[13:09] those times where the market is slow, It's like, you know, you're trying to fight for break-even weeks, or even sometimes losing weeks.
[13:25] that process, your confidence could dip a little bit, right? But, as soon as you get back in place, know, I'm back on a roll. I'm I'm I'm back on
[13:41] You know, I'm making profits again." Your confidence shoots right back up. So, you have to understand trading is a confidence game, and you always go up and dip.
[13:56] are, your confidence you you will go through a a period of time where the confidence will dip. good 2 weeks, and you're trying to get out that slump,
[14:08] and then boom, all of a sudden, you get out that slump, and you start making profits again. So, understand that trading is a confidence game, I don't care, the best trader in the world goes through
[14:21] uh confidence slumps, or confidence pullbacks, you know? But, if you keep trading the right way, and don't switch up, don't switch your eventually, boom, you're right back on track. Your
[14:35] confidence is right back on track. >> Guys, I just woke up. Oh, man. Basically, Hopefully, it's not raining outside. I don't know.
[14:49] Oh, it's not raining. All right. It looks good. Uh All right. So, I took a shower, and now, about to get some breakfast. Yesterday, actually, I saw my best friend. Been
[15:02] knowing him since fourth grade. And, you know, he saw the supercar, it. You know, um I didn't really want to, enjoy myself, so I took him out for a drive. He was like,
[15:17] "Yo, this is different, bro. Like, this supercar is different." You know, he stuff. He was enjoying it, you know? And um we went to a Brazilian spot where, you know, they cut the meat
[15:31] bunch of different meats. So, we went to that. saying? I was driving around and he was like he was he was hyped about how people would just take pictures and,
[15:44] you know, all the attention I get from the super car. though, you know, overall. Um you know, so um I don't know exactly. I'm probably going
[15:57] But, um yeah, I mean, right now I'm trying to get some breakfast. I ain't And I don't know exactly what I'm going to do later, but yeah. to do later, but yeah. >> [music]
[16:45] >> Breakfast was good, guys. I'm not going to lie, it was really really good. But, um yeah, so I want to actually just talk about, you know, overall why you should take trading seriously. And I'm not saying that, you know, just to sound
[16:58] good, but it's literally the only way. Right? Trading is not a game. It's it's You can't like make a whole bunch of money in trading, you know, by getting lucky.
[17:11] you know, or one trade or whatever. Might maybe even 2 weeks, maybe. But, consistently making money from trading and getting lucky, no. It is is literally about skills, right?
[17:28] Taking trading seriously to build up your skills. And if you make money consistently, that's not luck at all, right? That's just pure skills. in order to, you know, build up your skills, you have to be willing to change
[17:42] your behavior, right? A lot of people want to, you make money and think about the money. Everything is about money, but what are you doing behavior-wise,
[17:54] you know, to actually change your behavior? Because if your behavior doesn't change, guys, you will never be a profitable trader. You have to behave like a profitable trader. You have to do the right things
[18:06] like a profitable trader. You have to, you know, follow your rules like a like a profitable trader. You have to do all the steps like all profitable traders do. You can't just say I want, right? Words.
[18:19] Words is not enough, guys. You have to behave. It's that behavior that's going to change you to take your trading to the next level. I actually ran into a person that recognized me. Shout to him. He said he actually got the course and
[18:34] everything. And I think his problem was over-leveraging, right? And then I ran to another trader that was doing a valet, parking my car. He was
[18:46] basically telling me that, you know, he trade, you know, prop firms. And And basically his problem was changing strategies, right? So, he he I he wants, and then he will keep on flipping strategies. And this is where
[19:00] changing your behavior comes in place, right? Understanding, all right, bet. I right? Understanding, all right, bet. I can't keep on changing my strategy. Or I can't keep on to be trading. Or I can't keep on over leveraging. Like, you have
[19:13] to understand, guys, you have to change your behavior. That's the only way. And it's literally taking small steps, right? If you read the book Atomic Habits, he talk about small habits, right? So, you want to like create small
[19:27] habits and make these small habits, you know, your daily routine, and then those small habits will snowball, and then you eventually will start to behave and do the right things. But, it starts small.
[19:42] So, you can start small as in as soon as you revenge trade, the next day you write, you know, on your um or not not actually not the next day, that same day you write on a piece of
[19:55] that same day you write on a piece of paper or remind yourself, right? Um either on your notes on a computer, whatever the case is, to not revenge trade the next day, right? Those small habits lead up to you changing your
[20:09] understand, guys, it's you doing the same routine every single day. Yes, it's Yes, it could be annoying because it's the same thing. And one thing that's really going to tempt you to change your behavior is when you're
[20:24] going to have these slow weeks, right? These slow weeks and these slow months will try to like play with you, play with your emotions, and make you think something's wrong with you or the strategy.
[20:38] And I'm here to tell you guys, don't do it. Going to try to, you know, be tempted to change your strategy because it's slow or you're not making no profits. Don't do it, right? There are going to be weeks where, bro,
[20:52] the market's is going to be suspect. You have no control. Only thing you have control over is you continue to behave the right way and follow your rules, right? People ask me, "Hey, how you lose weight?"
[21:05] how to lose weight, right? You eat good, drop drop your calories, right? But, my question to you is, can you consistently do that every single day?
[21:18] Right? Because that's where the results come in. It's those it is you consistently doing the same boring thing every single day. Even though it's hard, right? Even though you want to, you know, cheat,
[21:33] have a cheat meal, go back to trading. Can you consistently do the right things Can you consistently do the right things every single day even though you have a suspect week or even though, um you know, you're not seeing profits
[21:46] um you know, you're not seeing profits this week. Can you continue to trade the [snorts] same way, the same boring way? And if you could, guys, that's where the results come into play. It's you doing
[21:59] the same boring routine every single day because eventually you will start to see that trading is something that you have to change your behavior to change your behavior and you have to understand,
[22:13] right, your routine every single day and you do that routine, right? You don't veer off, you don't change the strategy. And if correct that mistake right away, the next day, okay? You
[22:27] know, what I usually do, I tell my traders, don't worry about daily or weekly income. You know, it's it's it feels like I'm the only trader that talks about this, right? Don't worry about daily or weekly income. That
[22:41] um a thing that's going to mess you up, right? Because there are going to be months where you on fire. You have, you know, you're you're making money almost that alone is going to make you delusional, it's going to make you feel
[22:56] like, oh, I can make daily income or or I can make weekly income. But, there are going to be slow weeks or slow months where not making weekly income and it's going to mess with you. But, if you know that
[23:10] beforehand, it should not mess with you. It You should be okay with that and understand, okay, if I had, you know, two break-even weeks and then my last two weeks of the month or months are the weeks where I'm making my profits, at
[23:26] the end of the month, boom, I can be profitable. You see the difference? or every single week. You're saying, all right, bet. If I just continue to do the right things every single week, by the end of the month, I can get a paycheck.
[23:40] I can get profits. I can get, um, you know, a withdrawal, whatever the case That's how you should look at trading. Strictly, if you really want to do this on a professional level, you should look for a monthly income, not daily income.
[24:07] can't give up. You have to understand that this is a process. And, you know, it's going to be a grind, but it's going to be worth it at the end, you know? All grinds are worth it at the end,
[24:19] especially if you, you know, trying to accomplish something good. But, you got to be consistent. You can't veer off. You can't just say, You know how You know how many times I didn't want to do something, but I know
[24:35] if I do it, I'm going to get the results that I want, you know? So, keep grinding. And, you know, don't give up. If you really want this,
[24:47] you know, if you really understand, you know, that trading is worth it. button, hit that subscribe button. And, if you want to just learn how I trade, the information below, but guys, keep pushing
[25:01] and understand that you know, things that you really you know, things that's that you really you know, things that's really worth it is going to take time. happy. You're going to be happy that you didn't give up, right?
[25:14] So, let's get it. Talk to you guys later. Let's go.
