This video is a detailed playthrough and review of the new Skyborn starting zone in World of Warcraft's upcoming Classic+ content. The creator shares first impressions, critiques the art assets, and discusses gameplay mechanics like horizontal progression and the new racial abilities. The overall tone is positive, with specific feedback on what works and what feels out of place.
The creator starts the Skyborn starting zone experience, noting the anticipation and the initial quests.
The environment looks good, but some mobs and assets feel too 'retail' with high detail and vibrant colors.
The creator discusses the warrior class, noting that rage generation feels fine at low levels but may be an issue later.
A suggestion is made for a dedicated art team for Classic+ to avoid style clashes with retail assets.
The cave environment is praised, with the environment team being highlighted as doing great work.
The creator explains why they didn't complain on the podcast, as it wasn't the right time or place for feedback.
A speedrun technique is shared: dying in a cave allows instant respawn in the city for turn-ins.
The sword looks slightly out of place, but the gameplay feels classic, not retail.
The Gale Striders are critiqued for being too vibrant and modern-looking.
Paladin is considered the most well-designed class so far, with a dynamic rotation.
Horizontal progression means old gear remains viable, and you mix pieces from new and old raids.
The Ley Line racial provides 100% increased health and mana regen for 15 minutes, which is powerful for leveling.
The creator is against adding a new class soon, preferring to focus on content and letting the game develop.
The creator emphasizes that differing opinions are welcome in the stream and community.
Getting upgrades still feels rewarding, which is fundamental to the classic experience.
The creator finds the quest log UI covers the whole screen, making it hard to multitask while reading quests.
An Easter egg with musical frogs is discovered, rewarding a companion frog pet.
The final quest feels too grand for a level 14 character, with max-level characters and a Windlord encounter.
The creator reaches level 14 in 6 hours and 25 minutes, ending the playthrough.
The Skyborn starting zone is a visually impressive and well-designed experience, but it struggles with art assets that feel too 'retail' and a final quest that is too grand for its level. The overall feedback is positive, with the potential for refinement based on community input.

08:23Differing Opinions Welcome
Emphasizes the importance of allowing differing opinions in the community, a healthy stance for content creators.
29:23[00:00] Guys, we've been baiting you for days, for weeks, for months at this point. Skyborn, what do we got? Give it to me. What's going on? Look at you, bright-eyed and ready for adventure. We've been awaiting your arrival, anticipating your much-needed help here in Central Village.
[00:15] I imagine you're brimming with nerves and excitement for what's to come. Florian, I'm Blind Samurai. I can't see you. Call out to me. Gale's greetings, Blind Samurai. I am honored to bestow your coming-of-age relic today as you're recognized for the potential you bring to the Shandarai.
[00:31] Our people have faced great hardship and persecution in our complex history. Today you're given this relic, which is of many held by those before you. Someday, when your ashes are scattered to the winds, we'll pass to another.
[00:43] Okay? We live in a time of great uncertainty for our people. We face unprecedented challenges that require bold solutions. We also must contend for ordinary and mundane here in Thundelgrove. Okay, cool. See?
[00:55] They keep it simple. They keep it simple. We have to focus on the boring and moon-banging. I like it. The full-trend population has been on the rise. They're a vital part of the ecosystem, but it has to be balanced.
[01:08] Okay, cool. I like that. That's kind of nice. Not bad. So I think, like, this rock here looks like it could be in classic, and, like, same with this and same with this.
[01:20] This building kind of looks like a recolored night elf, like with this and stuff, like that's kind of fine. The trees look fine. Slay eight pesky cirrus flies in Central Grove.
[01:32] I mean, I can handle that, guys. I can do this. So far, like I think the trees look good, the mountains look good, the water looks good, the ground looks good. Some of these mobs look good. The quests read well.
[01:44] I mean, overall, this is pretty fine so far. Cool. So we start off with Humble Beginnings. We're doing some basic kill quests and it wants us to go deeper in the forest and find the queen.
[01:57] The queen fly. Cool. Oh, this guy wants to group up for the queen. We send this hard.
[02:11] So, rage so far on a level 3 warrior feels fine. But that's only level 3. Because apparently it feels awful once you get higher. You need to test it as arms, not prod.
[02:23] I actually was going to tank, but I could tank as arms, probably. Don't pretend like you know what classic warriors should feel like. I have done more 1-20 warriors than the majority of people out there, Aslof, okay?
[02:35] Trust me, I have a lot of experience in the 1-20 range. A lot. Has that, you know, limited? 1-20? Yeah. Yeah, 1-20. A lot of experience at 1-20.
[02:47] I mean, so far, I'm vibing with this, guys. I got, yeah, so far I'm vibing. We get a brand new chest piece, 67 armor. I'm not going to go, I'm not going to make you guys watch me wear a cloth chest on this playthrough, alright? But, retail mobs.
[03:00] Okay, so this is like the first mob that definitely does feel a little more on the retail end of things. The color palette is actually like kind of okay, right? It's not like too vibrant or too out there, but just like the detailing is like a little too high for like a level 4 starting zone.
[03:18] or maybe potentially anywhere. We talked about this a lot yesterday and the day before, and the day before that. This is my first time actually experiencing it in its own. Yeah, I wouldn't mind them taking another pass on the art year
[03:31] and just being like, okay. Someone on my Discord actually, like, empathized pretty well. Imagine you're a retail artist. You get hired at Blizzard, and you do the art for the past five or six years on retail, and you're in a group, you have your style down,
[03:45] and people generally like what you're doing, and this is all great. And then all of a sudden, you didn't sign up for classic, by the way. You signed up for retail. Retail art, that's your job description. And then all of a sudden, across your desk,
[03:58] it's, oh, we want you to make these super low HD or SD things because this is the new project we're working on. It has nothing to do with your current art style or nothing to do with what you're currently doing and nothing to do with the stuff you've been doing
[04:13] for the past however long, but you have to do this now. it's like I can empathize a little bit I was talking to my wife, my wife's an artist and she was saying she empathizes a little too but she also did tell me yeah but if
[04:26] you're hired to do that then that's what you should do anyway and I was like oh yeah that's true I think a nice middle ground might be maybe this project needs it's own art team, maybe that's what
[04:38] it needs, maybe with this massive influx of players we actually just need an art team that's fully dedicated not just splitting their attention between retail and this, but that does the art for this and the style that this is meant for, right?
[04:51] And then I was chatting with Shannon about that, and I think, like, that was kind of what she suggested, too. Instead of trying to split the art team down the middle of, like, okay, do retail assets that are like this and then try to do these ones that are completely different,
[05:04] instead it's like, let's have just a team that does this stuff well and then the team that does the retail stuff really well. That means paying more people. Yeah, but, I mean, I think this game, I mean, I guess I don't really know,
[05:16] but I think this game is going to be insanely wildly popular. In other words, like, it's justified to hire some people for it. I think that's proven at this point. You can't expect to build an incredibly wildly popular game
[05:30] without hiring the required amount of people, right? Like, this is a season of discovery. Let's be honest. This is not season of discovery. This has the potential to be nuts.
[05:42] So I like this cave. this cave looks good I think the creatures in the cave we've already talked about enough but like the cave itself looks nice the fog looks nice it's clearly like a low level cave
[05:55] yeah the environment team is clearly just on another level like they're doing work man I feel like you've turned tables on the theory wise video if you compare
[06:08] with the podcast can you explain yeah so I talked about this briefly this morning um but yeah I think I can touch on it again we have official channels to talk to the devs
[06:21] about feedback that's awesome by the way a lot of big games do this I'm glad that's the case it's pretty cool talking on a podcast
[06:33] about the launch of something isn't the place to whine and complain about the all the checklists of things that I personally want in the game. That's not the appropriate time and place
[06:46] to say, oh, by the way, can you do this? It's a podcast about the launch of the game, not the time nor the place. And we have the channels for the time and the place for that. And I've been very annoying, of course,
[06:58] to them about the things that matter to me. So I hope I explained that this morning, but there's been quite a bit of people that have said that, so I hope that makes sense. I was more just trying to, like, read the room and it didn't seem like a place to complain about things
[07:12] that seemed the place to chat about the launch experience. Of course, that doesn't mean I was going to give any feedback, but it wasn't the place to go to Superdude.
[07:26] Do you want to make sense 100%? Yeah, I think most people understand that, but just because we have been getting some questions.
[07:42] Ursana! We're stunned. I like to turn off that CC effect there. We're half HP here. Okay, we have to lock in and dial against the Ursana.
[07:58] Okay, we really have to lock in and dial against the Ursana. Bro, I can't wait to play hardcore forever. It's gonna be so fun. Imagine this on hardcore, my heart would be beating and I wouldn't have health bots normally.
[08:10] Yeah, we're gonna, I mean, it's not hardcore guys, so if we die, we die, we're gonna run out of here. I forgot my warrior keybinds. I used a health pot. No, I misclicked it. Um, I'm doing a speedrun, guys.
[08:23] So, when you're doing speedruns, what you want to do is actually die in that cave and then return to life like this. And now you're back into the city instantly for the turn-ins. I'll explain the tech later, but all you need to know is this is much quicker and more efficient. All right, crate sword, two-hander, 2.7 speeder.
[08:39] Mmm. I think we're going two-hander, boys. Yeah, we're getting up a five as well. And we gotta report into the village. Oh, that's a big sword.
[08:51] That's a really big sword. Retail sword. Um, yeah. I feel like the hilt. I feel like the sword, like the sharp part is kind of chill.
[09:04] The hilt is a little whimsical. But that's being pretty nitpicky and pretty critical. I don't know. That's pretty critical. I think the sword doesn't bother me like these bother me, right?
[09:18] And these don't bother me as much as the bear forms bother me. And the bear forms don't even bother me as much as the UI. It's like a spectrum of, like, how out of place does something feel. It's not like it's binary. Is it out of place? Yes or no.
[09:30] It's like, how out of place is this? Is it a tiny bit out of place? Is it very out of place? I feel like with this sword, it's like maybe slightly, but I'm pretty sure. Do you feel like you're playing classic or retail right now?
[09:44] It does feel like I'm playing classic, though. I will say that. Retail doesn't feel anything like this at all. Retail is like, you're already level 30 by now. You're already flying around on mount. You're already, you have a whole spellbook of abilities.
[09:58] This does not feel retail-y in the slightest. the look, you know, but in terms of, like, the feel and the gameplay, no, I wouldn't confuse this. I have to say, I think warriors are more fun to level than mages. I think
[10:14] I'll say it. Like, warriors are awesome. I'm only level 5, so, like, it's already reminding me, like, I get to, like, hit things and press keybinds and, like, charge, but mage is very crossbow heavy. Okay, so those are the Gale Striders. Definitely a little modern on the
[10:29] Gale Striders. They're pretty muted, though. In my head, I pictured them a little more vibrant. The Pride Claws, you know, yeah.
[10:41] Those don't really seem to fit the aesthetic as much. Gale Striders, Pride Claws. Oh, they have bright ones, too? Okay, maybe that's what I was thinking of. Oh, there we go, Team Six. Fit near the basic campfire for typing slash fit and wait until you receive the buff.
[10:58] Oh, yeah. Great Outdoors. Raise your mining skill to 21st. I can do that. Probably set our hearthstone to the new village. Sod 2.0 will last 3-4 months.
[11:10] Bro, this is like so not sod. If you've played it at all. I feel like there shouldn't be any more difference in sod. Okay, that's not completely true. But you know what I mean. It's just like so different, bro.
[11:23] What do you think of the new zone so far? I think overall the environment looks good. The clutch reads well. They don't throw you into it too fast. Things are explained. You get explanations of both your racials.
[11:35] You get the low-level gathering profession quest. Overall, I like it. I'd say the critiques on some of the new art assets being too retail-y are very valid,
[11:48] and I agree with them. I think there's varying levels of severity on some things, like this sword.
[12:00] People are like, oh, well, it's, like, way too big or looks like a retail sword. It's like, well, I think, I don't know, like, the sword doesn't bother me, like, a ton. But things like those owlbears that we talked about are, like, definitely much higher on the list of, like, oh, crap.
[12:16] Or, like, these sail striders out here. It's like, eh. I don't know. I think that's kind of where I'm at. I'm only level 6. Oh, I never got my warrior training, I just realized.
[12:30] Literally just complaining about dumb stuff. I mean, if me looking at something and giving my opinions is complaining about dumb stuff, then I don't know what to tell you, man.
[12:42] I want to be able to give my honest feedback, so I'm sorry that upsets you. Most well-designed class so far? I think most people would agree that it's Paladin. Paladins got a lot of love,
[12:55] and they're well-designed in the sense that you have a rotation that's somewhat dynamic and interesting. A lot of people think Hunter is up there, too. Yeah. I haven't played a Hunter yet, but I think Paladin players are pretty happy with the thing.
[13:08] Actually, not all of them, to be honest, but a lot of them are like, all right, the PvE rotation for Red, like you have Holy Strike, and then you have Seal Twistings, You have like two different seals that you're going to be using.
[13:21] And then you have judgment. And you have consecration. And then hammer of wrath when the boss gets low. That's not including any type of utility that you're going to be doing throughout the fight. Like a dispel of freedom of Bob.
[13:33] I'm confused about how horizontal progression is going to work. What happens when everybody is level 6 to C3 city Hey thanks for the donation I glad that you enjoy the content So the way horizontal progression works is when you in full tier 3 and you fully kitted
[13:50] what doesn't happen is a new raid comes out, and you replace every single piece of gear that you've already had. Oh, is this an elite mob? Oh my gosh. Am I...
[14:02] A level 8 elite mob? I don't have hamstring. I can't solo this. Um, so yeah, what doesn't happen is like every gear, you completely replace your entire gear set.
[14:17] Alright, Tim's crying. Let's lock this in. I'll tank this thing. Woohoo!
[14:29] Alright, Tim, finish him off. I'm outta here. Oh, yeah. Sorry, to finish that train of thought. Like, in retail, you know, the raid comes out,
[14:43] you replace every single piece of gear, and the old content is no longer worth doing. If you go into retail, the only content worth doing is the most recent raid. It gives you far better items than the previous raid.
[14:55] You would never do the old raids, and all your gears replaced. Now, horizontal progression in this game will still have some vertical aspects, of course. You have to, right? So the new raid is going to give you some better gear, right?
[15:07] or else you wouldn't want to do it. But your old gear will still be okay. Your old gear, in terms of set bonuses, might still be better than the new gear. So you might use a few pieces from the new raid
[15:20] mixed with a few pieces from the old raids. But not only that, the old raids will still be worth running because they drop valuable gear in them. So there's multiple components to this.
[15:32] If you're a new player coming in, you don't just get to the newest raid. You do all the old raids because they will prepare you for some of the more difficult stuff, but also there's just some good items that you use on the more difficult stuff.
[15:45] What other components? The strength doesn't just double and triple and quadruple over the course of a year. So if you play a retail expansion, when you start the retail expansion, I'm just making these numbers up, you might start at like 100,000 lives.
[15:58] I'll mute that for a second. And then when you are at the end of the expansion, you might have like 500,000 life so your HP bar like 5x's at the same level
[16:10] I don't think they plan to do that with this game, I think what they plan to do is more something along the lines of when new tier comes out you will have more stamina and it will be better pieces
[16:22] but it's not like each tier you're going to double or triple your life total it's not like each tier you're going to have 50% more life than the one before that so the point is if you take a break for a year and then you come back.
[16:35] Your character's not completely out of date. Of course, you're not going to be completely up to date either, but you'll still be able to take a break for a year, come back, and then be like, okay, let's hop in some raids. Let's be kind of wooden classic era.
[16:47] So this is a really long, complicated answer, but hopefully Pseudo-Michael just answered the question for you. Okay, so I'm feeling weak now. Without that ley line, we're level eight on the warrior. Level one through five felt really strong.
[17:00] Now it's like, all right, I need to lock this in and dial it. Oh, there's like a secret waterfall over here. Check this out. Oh, it looks like there's a ley line in there too, maybe. I'll go... potentially grab that. Oh, this is pretty cool. Bandit hideout sanctuary. You go under the waterfall and then check a little mini cave here.
[17:19] There's a ley line in the back of the cave and then some dudes to kill and then like, it looks like the boss is back there. Okay, if I really like this, this is rad. I don't know what that thing is. Or that thing. Maybe another quest that I missed.
[17:31] Yeah, I'm grabbing this for sure. How do you find ley lines? They're on your mini-map, which is actually pretty nice. I didn't know that's where you guys hold nayscale. Shout out shot on that one.
[17:46] Okay, so we turn into windstones, complete the quest, we get our XP, got another quest complete over here. My mining skill is still not 20. Gale greetings!
[17:58] Ooh, big leg upgrade.
[18:27] Okay, cool. So this is where, like, the hostility between these two groups is starting, I think. Can I get up this? He's my racial.
[18:40] Oh my gosh, that worked! Nice! I did not think that was going to work. Stop her veins.
[18:52] Okay, I'm really bad at blacksmithing. I haven't, like, I haven't done this. Okay, so you make sharpening stones, and then you can make rods, bracers... Oh, you need a blacksmith's hammer.
[19:04] There's a green vest you can make insa? Oh yeah, dude! Heck yeah! That's cool. Sharpening stones, I guess we'll just keep sending. Some gear's really good, apparently there's blue boots, level 10.
[19:21] Oh, cool! How long? 5 minutes?! You've been touched by energizing winds, increasing speed by 40. Hostile action ends. Oh, okay, so it just helps you get to the town.
[19:35] I see. Wow, I'm zooming now. Okay, so these are the Gale Striders that people have a big problem with. Not only is the geometry more modern, but also the color palette is incredibly vibrant.
[19:56] You don't really see these types of colors in the classic Azeroth. I think there's room for valid critique here, guys. I do.
[20:10] Not to be a hater, but I do think toning down the color palette here would just be a W. Opinions on Warrior so far, from 1 to 9 they feel good, they feel about the same. I don't really notice any rage normalization stuff coming into play at least yet.
[20:25] So, we'll see how things go as I continue to play. Rage starves at all? I mean, kind of, that's just how it works when you're 1 to 9. But apparently it gets worse later, so I'll keep playing and forming my opinion.
[20:38] People are saying it comes online like after 10, after you get some more armor too, so... a grand adventure we find ourselves
[20:51] in peril what's going on the high order seeks to find a pragmatic and enlightened solution to our current crisis okay one does not rely upon divine intervention from external forces we seek to master
[21:03] our own destiny for the first time since we've arrived in Skywall since we left our homes in Kalimdor the world has grown they call it Azeroth now and it's a massive vibrant world Haha, vibrant, huh? Recently we discovered a way to use our magic to carve a keyhole of sorts
[21:17] to peer through the plains to learn much of Azeroth. Oh. When we peered through that keyhole, someone else peered back. Members of a magical order much like our own called the Kirin Tor. We have learned much from them.
[21:30] The elementals who brought us here are gone. Any feats they used to maintain our homes can be replicated with highborn magic. But our powers have grown weak and skywalked. Looks like we've got to leave and go to Azeroth. So among us must leave this place of existence.
[21:44] We must travel to Azeroth to rediscover what we've lost and bring that knowledge back as a tool to save our homes. Akira and Tor have graciously agreed to receive us as their guests and we will need their help if we are to succeed.
[21:56] We will need explorers and adventurers of all kinds to think on this and when the time comes I hope you will consider joining us and tell them good fortune. A grand adventure. Complete class. So basically we're out of power.
[22:08] we gotta bounce out to Azeroth, we're gonna join up with a Kirin Tor in full sen. Hmm, interesting. Oh, there's a cave here, there. This Shriekling Sledgeling doesn't necessarily look like it's part of Classic,
[22:21] and this one isn't necessarily the color, it's just like, there's so many sharp angles, like... You know? I think just toning it down to fit in the Classic world.
[22:33] It's the druid form, do they look like that, though? If it's Classic, does it? I mean, the coloring is nice, right? So that's cool. I don't know. I think there's like too many. If there's a ley line in here, I'd want to grab it to get...
[22:48] Dude, I can't see anything in here. It's foggy in here, boys. It's foggy. The shriekling is newly born and has poor eyesight. Enemy detection range is greatly reduced. Yeah, I can't see anything in here either, bro.
[23:00] I think it's just a fog, honestly. So my FPS is now at like 300 right now. Honestly, that's still a little on the low end for what I experienced on, like, retail and plastic, but I feel like finally they figured out the Memory League thing, so it's, like, playable now, which is nice.
[23:18] Carry Fillion Flamebreeze to safety while avoiding enemies. Ugh! I got you, Fillion! Let's get out of here, Fillion! And this guy in front of me is also going to carry another version of you out!
[23:31] What add-on are people using to do the spells and when to learn them? There's an add-on called What's Training, which is the same one from the other one that tells you what you can get soon, but... I mean, for level 20, it's completely unnecessary.
[23:43] I downloaded it this morning, kind of more just to see if it worked, and it did, and I was surprised. And I was like, oh, okay, I'll leave it on then. Oh, this place looks cool. Shrine of Akir. You cross, like, the bridge.
[23:56] The music changes. It's different over here. I hope a vibrant bird doesn't pop out. I'm immersed right now, boys. I'm immersed. Oh yeah. Guardians, Spirit Callers, Blademasters.
[24:15] Now that looks like classic. Yeah, this area right here is done very well. That looks cool. I mean they're all the classic assets, right? Like, it should. Or not, like, a lot of them
[24:27] This isn't. Like this is, I think. Hey! Level 10! Okay, should I go Arms, Fury, or Prot? Everyone in the shop is saying Prot. I kind of want to try
[24:39] Arms just to see what people are complaining about with Arms. If people are saying Prot feels good, maybe I won't do that one. If I am going to go Arms, and Rend
[24:51] is actually good, I think I do go Improve to Rend even though you normally wouldn't. Dude, this zone, by the way, looks awesome. Like, this looks so cool.
[25:04] This looks so cool. I think I like the Shrine of Akir and the Ruins area, like, more than the rest of this so far. Like, these two areas are dope. You can just... it looks cold. Yeah, yeah, this is really cool.
[25:20] Cool. Duckwood vibes? Yeah. Oh, Desand, Thunder Armor, and Taunt. We got a big boy shield as well.
[25:35] So, let's check out some new level 10 warrior quests. Oh yeah, and then some warrior stuff. Blood Rage and Ren Rank 2. Okay.
[25:48] We don't need any of that. One handed mazes 4.7 deep. And they team up as well. Let's go. Level 11. Okay, let's re-get this ley line up here. Let's vendor everything.
[26:03] Ummm... 4.7 deeps on a one hander? Probably still not good enough. My shield is gonna be green now too.
[26:16] We got level 11. Let's grab this real quick. A lot of criticisms for Sky Elves, but I'm enjoying them. Yeah, I'm glad you're enjoying them. Ley Line is like a new Sky Elves thing, or a new Skyborn thing, Skyborn Elves, whatever,
[26:32] where if you use your racial on it, you get 100% increased health in mana regen for 15 minutes. 15 minutes, 100% HP in mana regen.
[26:44] It's crazy. So when I'm out of combat, you'll really be able to tell 80% 87% 94% see that? it's just like
[26:56] way more region than you would normally expect seems OP it's OP if you're like speed leveling but I don't think it'll be like OP in like a lot of the other aspects
[27:09] of the game so good for warrior leveling Torrens I think will be good for warrior leveling even better than that movement speed on the roads seems ridiculous. Do you think they should have a new class?
[27:21] I'm terrified of them adding a new class. I think there a higher chance the new class ends up being crazy in a way that breaks the game and you lose your classic feeling a bit I would
[27:35] if it was me and like you guys might be happy I'm not in charge but if it was me and I was in charge I would not think about adding a new class for probably two or three years minimum let the thing play out
[27:48] add some content add some raids add some dungeons add some other content and new class, down the road. I would literally just put it off for a long time.
[28:03] Eventually, sure, maybe. You know, it's a conversation. But I wouldn't even be thinking about it right now. There's so much other stuff to worry about. And yeah, to add to that, personally, if we never got a new class,
[28:18] I would be just fine with that. If this game went 10 years and we just got new quests, new dungeons, new raids, new items, reasons to level alt,
[28:32] tournaments. I'm fine. I'm okay with never getting a new class in this game, but like that's how much it freaks me out. But at the very least I would wait like, you know, one to
[28:45] two years, three years before even like thinking about it. save it for literal last resort that's my mindset yeah save it for more of a last resort thing
[28:57] it's just not something to think about anytime soon that's my take I know a lot of you guys agree with it and I know a lot very polarizing a lot of you disagree with that too
[29:09] which is totally fine I was reading some stuff online that confused me a bit I want to be very clear I want to be very clear about something it is 100% okay
[29:23] in this stream to have differing opinions and still coexist. That shouldn't need to be said ever.
[29:35] But I want that to be clear. If you have a differing opinion than me, that's okay. Okay. We don't have to agree on everything and still just be chill, right?
[29:48] Like, for example, I don't think there should be a new class anytime soon. If you think there is, that's okay. Really shouldn't need to be said, but there was a couple things that I was reading online that were confusing me,
[30:01] saying like, I don't remember exactly what it said, I don't want to paraphrase it wrong, but people felt as if they had to agree with me. And I'm like, dude, you don't have to agree with me. Absolutely not. Okay, so one of the things that I just thought of right now is it still feels really good to get an upgrade.
[30:18] Like, those are the things that are important. I was actually a little worried. Like, is the game going to be retalified to where you're getting upgrades so fast where you don't feel like the importance of it? But the answer is no. You absolutely do.
[30:30] Like, two strength globs still feels like, oh, yeah. And that's important, right? That's very fundamental to the classic experience. Wait till dungeons. The thing is, they said they've already been looking at dungeon quests early,
[30:45] and they actually agreed. I think it was in the podcast. they were saying like we don't want you feeling like you're just replacing your greens instantly. They actually might make it so you don't get greens until a bit later which I thought was kind of cool.
[30:58] Or blues. Yeah, yeah, blues. Blues until a little bit later. Exactly. So you actually like stay with greens for a while. They ruined Warrior Rage Gen. I've played Warrior for 20 plus years. I might have to re-roll.
[31:12] I think that's a little blown out of proportion. Like right now at level 12 I wouldn't say there's essentially zero difference. I think it might be a concern later, right?
[31:26] Especially once you get to level 20. But I think they might add a talent or buff certain talents to make it to where it becomes a non-issue. So I wouldn't really be concerned yet.
[31:40] If nothing changes until out of beta, like at all, until 60, then it would be cause for alarm. but I wouldn't be concerned yet. And this zone looks so cool! I can't get over it!
[31:52] Oh my gosh! So by far the coolest place in this new starting zone, I've been here twice now, is this right here. Like, this is so cool, dude! I like this area too,
[32:05] the Shrine of Akir, but like, the ruins, the Banaleth area, is like, rad. I'm trying to figure out where this heirloom is. If you're traveling to Banifel, I have a selfish request, my love.
[32:20] I believe it is no longer a part of this world. He had tried to go back and get supplies, even though I begged for him to stay. It's been over a week already, and I feel the worst. Maybe just in the back.
[32:33] I really don't like how to read a quest. I have to bring up my map. It's not that big of a deal. But, like, if I click on this quest, I can't just go to the... I just want to read it.
[32:45] I mean, I have my map, too. but I guess most of the time it's not a big deal but here it's just like it's kind of like with my talents I actually have the same critique
[32:57] of my talents sometimes I like the small talent tree on the left so when I'm like running and leveling I can just take a look at my talents and like read them and mouse over them while I'm like killing a mob
[33:09] and like sometimes when I'm killing a mob I want to like read a quest but it covers your whole screen so you can't actually like multitask. Like, kill a mob while reading a quest is not possible anymore. Or, like, killing a mob while reading your talents.
[33:22] It just covers the whole screen. There's an add-on for that? Yeah, sure. I mean, I know I can get an add-on, but that's not the conversation. The conversation is, like, baseline. Kind of sucks that it covers
[33:34] the whole screen. That's good feedback. Yeah, like, I'm talking about the pure... I'm not even talking aesthetically. I'm talking pure utility. Even if it had the new aesthetic, having it, like, minimized to the left and it collapses.
[33:48] The new aesthetic aside, just collapsing to the left. Or like with my quest log, same thing. I wish I could hide the map and just put the quest log like here. Right click quest on right.
[34:02] Open quest details. Oh! There we go! Yeah! This is what I want. When I click my quest log, I want this. Oh, that's great. That's what I want. But when I click on it, it's this. It's actually like right-click quest details.
[34:15] Oh, that's awesome. That's what I want by default, though, when I click on my quest. That's fantastic. How did you get that? So you click on the quest, right-click open quest details.
[34:27] So if you press L for quest log, it doesn't bring that up. When you click on it, it doesn't bring that up. If you right-click, the only way to do that is clicking here, right-click details.
[34:39] That's great. That's great. This is what I want. Can you keep on that? I would assume no. Can you keep on... that's another quest maybe you guys know. I would assume no. Because it's only for one quest. It doesn't give you like a whole log.
[34:52] Alright, turn and thumb boys! Turn and thumb! No in town? Oh, there's an Easter egg in town? Like, it's not that wonderful, right?
[35:05] What about this crystal? Ah, wait, yes, this crystal! Delenia, is this... a RECALL CRYSTAL?! Used to record an important moment, no doubt.
[35:17] This is surely what the turncoat hoped to offer us in exchange for our protection. The RECALL CRYSTAL is badly damaged, though. The recording is likely to be incomplete, so we must listen carefully. Okay, I'm ready to listen. Activated, Delenia! We need to learn as much as we can!
[35:32] Do not delay. Muster our forces, march immediately. The pylons are key and the wards come down. This is... Quickly, with our forces, we'll be exposed. My ritual must not... I alone am this task.
[35:45] The Windlord will... Our voices... He will come. We must not fail. Uh, okay. Speak with Delenia, Stormfist, and Valinor and follow her instructions. What are the next steps?
[35:58] Recruit the Windshapers. Okay. Do it. Woohoo!
[36:12] Bum bum bum! Fourteen boys! Fourteen! So I'm five hours, thirty-two minutes at level fourteen. We'll take that.
[36:24] Whoops, I actually want my blacksmith's hammer. We'll take that, that's not too bad! We'll finish up this desperate times quest, look at another point in parry, my warrior trainer is around here somewhere. I'm like definitely confused on this starting area, man.
[36:38] Oh my gosh, I am like super lost. I think it's... Up here to the left somewhere. I'll do this last quest. And then I also want to check out that Easter egg before I go.
[36:50] I'm at 12 hours at level 15. Dude, we're cruising on this starting zone. Oh wow. Oh, there's a bunch of like boats that you can take. Cool.
[37:04] Review of the Zone? I'll give you an official review in a second, but it's about what you would expect.
[37:18] Okay, so you guys are telling me that the Easter egg is a bunch of frogs. Musical Gus Jumper. I just killed a frog a second ago. Uh, sorry about that.
[37:32] Seeing with them. Oh, it's Zelda. Oh. I actually, yeah, I've played Zelda, but it's been a long time.
[37:46] I'm not, like, a Zelda superfan by any means. Um, awkward. They're jumping in song.
[38:02] And now they're all gone. And then you can click on this one? And then you get a... Oh, a companion frog. Wait, where
[38:14] is it? Oh, there's pet journals now. Did I know that? I think I might have known that. Account collections. Oh, there's Transmog, too. You know, it's... I haven't even opened
[38:26] this app at all yet. My eyes! Okay, we'll look at it. Pets. I actually do like that there's a pet journal. Because I don't, like, I actually don't like pets in WoW at all, but, um, having
[38:39] them in your bags is annoying. Hopefully this works with mounds, too. I would assume it would. So you get a little musical dust jumper. Nice. That's pretty rad. Well, the coordinates are 50, 70-ish. If you guys want to grab the little frog.
[38:52] The inner sanctum. Speak with Valenia Stormfist inside the inner sanctum at the Shrine of Akir.
[39:06] Okay. So I think we might be getting to the end here. Oh, maybe she's up top.
[39:18] I want to see Zar Rogue. I will almost surely have a rogue at some point. The thing is, it's going to take like a month to level. I might... Yeah, we'll see, we'll see. I will probably... What I'll probably do is have a bunch of my characters on hardcore.
[39:33] And then when I die, transfer them to normal. I'll probably level a lot of my teams to hardcore. Because leveling is hardcore fun. And then I'll probably end up raiding with them at max. Transfer them to a normal realm. That's probably what I'll do.
[39:45] So like early on I level a mage normally and play and then when they launch hardcore assuming it's not super late then I would probably be like a hardcore warrior and if I eventually
[39:59] die then I would then transfer him and play him on like a normal realm. Dan Chan, thanks for the tier 1. I think leveling is hardcore just makes it so much more fun since you're always out of
[40:11] that threat of dying you know. Confront Lorthuna. Take the portal to the spires overhead and join Eladrin, Evangale, and Domsinger in their confrontation with the High Priestess.
[40:23] Ooh! 10.2 DPS, two-handed sword. She's D, by the way. Oh my gosh, it's like straight up, like, Cataclysm Alethir.
[40:39] I guess that's the point.
[40:59] This is above the new zone, I guess so, yeah. What dungeon is this This looks like a dungeon from Kata but Vortex Pinnacle Yeah yeah This looks like Vortex Pinnacle Adventurer The High
[41:19] Order and Windshaper fighters just took the wind bridge to the other side. The bridge is unstable and keeps sputtering out. Wait here with me until it returns. Whoa. Hmm.
[41:34] Alright, I almost just want to pause. Right now, up to, before this point, it felt very classic-like.
[41:46] I don't know what this little instance feels classic-like. It's cool. Don't get me wrong. It's cool. But this is the first part where, like,
[41:58] like, spinning over, and, like, it almost feels too, like, I'm level 14, bro. I'm level 14, right? I should be killing an elite mob at 14, or a normal mob. Okay, confront
[42:14] Lortuna. Oh, did I go too soon? Come on, maybe I went too soon. We are hoping for more reinforcements
[42:29] so this will have to do. Let's push forward. Okay.
[42:52] I asked my former sister how far you've fallen, keeping company with this high water filth. Barthuna, stop this madness! You know what bringing down the boards protecting Zephyrus will do? You can doom us all! Bring the boards down? The wards have been down for days, fools! No, I am merely lighting a beacon for the true servants of Alathir to follow.
[43:11] Ah! I'll make this easy for you, witch. Stop what you are doing now and I'll give you Death Swift. This is your last and best offer you will get from the High Order. empty threats, Eladrin.
[43:23] Regardless of what happens to me now, my great work is done. Consider yourself lucky to be here at the eye of the storm to witness the fruits of our labor. It's a pretty cool story. Rohash,
[43:35] they call us and answer me your end with joy. Who dares call the lord of the east wind? Wait, what is this place? How could you, such a place exist in the wind lord's realm?
[43:49] So the rumors were true. my wayward brothers did well to conceal this place from the gaze of Alakir. Yes, yes, it is by my will that the way to Zephyrus is opened to you. Bring me before your wind lord so he may know who is the herald of his glory.
[44:04] Huh. You dare to command me, mortal? No, I think not. Be gone, insignificant elf. No, no, I would never die there if he dies. Oh, that's great. That's great. Enjoy your remaining time as guests in my lord's realm until his judgment inevitably arrives.
[44:19] You'll know not when but it is coming. So she was like used to open the portal. Oh wow. And there's like three So this is an elite mob. Enveloping wind, ten seconds stun, Baron and black
[44:39] Wait, why can I charge in combat? That was weird. I don't have like the charge in combat thing.
[44:51] I must be a bug. I wonder if my lord will enslave your people or merely consume them for sport. Aye, wait, wait, what is this? Sorry that we're late. Max level.
[45:05] It took a bit of work to convince Archmage Rowan to open the Transplanar Portal. Kirin tore mages? And earth in a ring. This isn't what I expected from our first meeting to go, but I'm glad you made it.
[45:19] Nor is this how I envisioned our first meeting, Mom. So the Kirin tore mages and the shamans. The shamans are on the side of the Horde. The mages are on the side of the ally. Very well, mortals. For now, enjoy your respite. I simply cannot wait to tell the Windlord about all that has transpired here.
[45:33] I think it's time for us to be leaving this place I'll be opening a portal to Balinar Moln Earth Fury, the Earthling the Windshaper should be happy to accept you as our guest Yes, and you Archmage Runeweaver
[45:45] the High Order is eager to learn more to Cairn Tor Okay Wow So, I actually like some of this dialogue and the storyline of someone trying to get more power
[45:58] and the person who's more powerful is like, yeah, we're keeping you as a pawn see you later. Like, I like that. That's funny. My big issue is that we're level 14. A quest
[46:12] line like this would be cool when you're level 50 or 60, I think. I think 14 is too early to bring in, like, max level characters, like, all of that kind of stuff. I don't want that
[46:27] at 14, I think 14 should be similar to human starting zone 14, tauren starting zone 14, what are you doing, you're in westfall killing, um, pillagers, you're not, you're not, like,
[46:44] summoning some max level characters to do this, like, crazy conflict or whatever, I know it's a new starting zone, and it's a big deal to get out of there, but I still it's a little too grand. I like the dialogue and I like the story, but I think that probably
[47:02] could have been saved until much later. That's my knee-jerk reaction anyhow. So is that it? Is that the final? Is that the finale? Inventory is full. Spinquis Talos and Valinere. Okay. This sword is cool looking. I need to reflect upon this
[47:18] further but looking at the upside we have rid ourselves of Luth-Lorthunan to pride the cult of their leader. Our home has not been invaded yet and on the timeline of elemental demigods it could be years, decades before Alathir deigns to turn his attention to us.
[47:31] There's so much to fear now but much to celebrate as well. Okay, now we're going to leave Zephrys. In a second here...
[47:43] Can you leave Skygorn without finishing the story quest? That's actually a good question! Can you leave at level one and just go do the human starting zone? I actually don't know. I would assume...
[47:55] Yeah, because he said people could get here. I would assume you could take the bow and leave. Ha ha. That's funny. Take this ship from Zephyrus Isle to Dalaran City. Oh, wow.
[48:07] So this is what you guys were talking about, like getting to Dalaran. Alateer raid confirmed. Oh, true. I didn't put that together. Okay. Well, I'm glad I experienced this because now I can talk about it a bit more, you know?
[48:22] It actually was very similar to what I thought, but I actually liked it more than I thought I would overall. I really had a positive experience overall.
[48:34] I think a few of the art assets, yeah, like the... It's really the vibrancy of those one creatures. What are they called? the purple
[48:46] kind of streams out. The zone though I thought was beautiful. I love the Shrine of Akir. I love the ruins of Banifel. This area reminded me of like Moth
[48:58] a little bit or like Arathi. Very nice. The Easter eggs were cool. The lore was cool. The setting looked good. The quest played well until the last quest. The last quest
[49:10] to me felt too grand for a level 14 narrative. Um, yeah, I think that's pretty much it. I don't know if I have anything else to say besides those points right there. The music. The music was good.
[49:22] I enjoyed the music. How should it have happened? Um, the last little bit. I think telling a similar story to that without, like, summoning all of these high-level people and the, like, wind lord dude.
[49:35] I think telling a similar story to that through dialogue and you just kind of see the person, capture them, and call GGs. and, like, later on, maybe Skyborne get a quest where you see something, like, epic like this happen.
[49:48] I think just seeing something like that at 14 just screams modern MMO to me. Not even retail, or maybe retail, but, like, any modern MMO I've played feels this way, where, like, within your first few hours of playing... Actually, modern MMOs are more guilty of this.
[50:02] Within your first 20 minutes of playing, you'll see something like that. Whereas Classic WoW is traditionally, like... I'm trying to think of something that feels like that. Like the Onyxia questline, where you see a big dragon appear,
[50:16] is not until the end of the Onyxia questline at 6, you're not going to see that for literally months as a new player, or weeks if you're a seasoned player, right? The Elite was easier than Hogger, and the spectacle was more grand.
[50:30] Yeah, that's true, that's true. Ding, ding! The Skycutter, bound for Dalaran City, has arrived! All aboard! but how do you justify that the NPCs need to contact the outside world
[50:44] they've been hiding from to come help and join the factions without some massive looming threat? Like I said, you can keep the story of the massive looming threat without actually seeing it. You can kill something that alludes to a massive looming threat and then we need help.
[50:58] I'm just... It's just the whole thing feels too grand to actually get teleported to another instance and then spin in circles over this. It just feels too grand for a level 14 quest.
[51:10] The quest is cool, by the way. For a higher level. So it spits you out in Dalaran. Wait, I thought Dalaran was overtaken by enemies. Is there a part of it where it's not? Oh, Dalaran!
[51:23] This is only my second time seeing it, guys. My question is, how did all of this fit under that bubble? Because the bubble was tiny.
[51:35] Like, how did that fit under the bubble? Magic? Ohhhh. So you get to Dalaran. Oh, Dalaran's a sanctuary. So when I went to Dalaran the
[51:48] other day, I was getting owned. I had to run out. Oh, there's a mail box. Oh, it's a city. Wait, on this side it totally wasn't though, right?
[52:03] I ran in and got, like, killed. I had to run away. Take the Skyborn portal with Stormwind. There's a stormwind portal right there. Before I take that though, like, what's actually going on in here? I thought this was gonna be like a dungeon...
[52:17] with like hostile enemies. Wait, is this like a full on city right here? Oh, is this full on gallery? What the heck?
[52:30] Wait, what? Huh? Wait, there's like a full on city, full on mailbox? Enchanting? There's not, um, like an auction out here, is there? seriously? Autchinau's door is closed. Taylor... these doors are closed. Why are you confused?
[52:50] I thought Dalaran was a dungeon. I literally did it at BlizzCon. You're in like... so there must be some other lore. So this is where I ran up the other day and I started getting attacked. So I
[53:02] like this. Is this a Skyborn-only city? Like, does anyone besides Skyborn get attacked? No? Yes. All Alliance can go there. I literally got attacked here as Alliance, like, three
[53:16] days ago. There's a faction rep for it later. They changed it two days ago. Only Skyborn, not all Alliance. Okay, so maybe it'll be a reputation or something. That's really interesting.
[53:29] I'm kind of curious how they're going to do the dungeon, then. A rocky base in Battlemaster? I'm so confused. Wait, so... Yeah, there's a whole city here. I wonder...
[53:41] Okay. Yeah, very interesting. Oh! Oh! Oh! Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
[53:54] Premiere. Bro, oh, my God. Dude, I can't wait for this game to actually come out. Oh my gosh, man. I can't wait for this game to come out, guys. We might have to hit some Saturday streams when this game comes out.
[54:06] Like, I'm going to be so dumb addicted. Oh my gosh. Well, that kind of wraps up the Skyborn. I wanted to try to do the entire starting experience. I think I already pretty much gave my overall feedback.
[54:21] Overall, I liked it more than I thought I would. I think it's good. I just, I think that last quest, I think I had the most, I think I had every quest except that last one, I just felt two grand for 14 to me.
[54:34] I'd rather something more similar to like Harger or whatever. I also think the, you know, the assets. But besides that, I think the quest, the zone, it looked pretty, the music, I'm pretty chill.
[54:51] My slash play at 14 is six hours, 25 minutes, and we're in the storm wind at 14. So, he's pretty quick, too, overall.
