AI Summary
In this video, Taliesin and Evitel rate and rank the new World of Warcraft tier sets from the upcoming WoW Forever expansion, based on datamined previews. They discuss each class's set design, comparing them to classic and modern aesthetics, and share their personal favorites and disappointments. The video concludes with a final ranking and a call for viewer opinions.
Chapters
The hosts introduce the video as their first WoW Forever tier set ranking, referencing their history of rating tier sets since 2016. They mention that the sets are from datamining and not yet available in-game.
The Warrior set is criticized for being too detailed and modern, with too many elements like gems, gold, and fur. The hosts prefer simpler, more classic designs for warriors, though they appreciate the helmet's shape and the glowing red eyes.
The hosts agree that the Shaman, Druid, and Warrior sets don't work well, while the Rogue set is acceptable. They note that some sets look better in BlizzCon trailers than in the datamined previews.
The Priest set is highlighted as special and fitting, while the Mage set has a 'forever feeling.' The Warlock set is declared the winner, with Hunter also doing well.
The hosts give the top sets a score of 7 out of 10, with the Warlock taking the crown. They encourage viewers to share their opinions in the comments and thank their patrons for support.
The hosts conclude that while some tier sets succeed in capturing a classic feel, others fall into modern design traps. They invite viewer feedback and emphasize the subjective nature of their rankings.

[00:00] This video is sponsored by Squarespace. Hello, my name's Talia Sin. And I'm Evertel. And you know what, Evertel? Yeah? Way back in 2016, we sat in front of a PC a bit smaller than this,
[00:17] and a camera quite a lot smaller than this, and one microphone definitely way smaller than these, and we did our first ever World of Warcraft tier set video.
[00:29] How could I forget? Where we cracked open some wines, we went through the latest tier sets, and we rated them ourselves. We decided which ones were best and which ones were worse. On a very objective scale.
[00:41] Well, that's the only way we ever do anything. Completely objectively. Exactly. And that's the brilliant thing, because it means no one can ever disagree with us. And every single rave tier ever since, we've looked at those tier sets and we've told everyone else in the world which are good and which are bad.
[00:58] And until we tell them, they don't know. At the moment, there's a whole bunch of WoW Forever players who are sitting there expectantly waiting for us to tell them which of the new tier sets are good and which are bad.
[01:10] Well, lucky for you, here we are to do exactly that. It's our first ever WoW Forever tier set ranking video ever, Sal. All of these sets from Datamining so far, they're not available in-game. But as far as we can tell, they will be available together
[01:23] from the three opening raids launching on December 9th, 2026. The new 10-man Barrow's Deep, the new 20-man Hyjal Summit, and the returning 40-man Onyxia's Lair.
[01:36] It's not going to be as long as the usual ones because there's no Avoca, there's no Death Knight, there's no Onyxia. We're going to be rating them in the normal way that we rate them, through pure aesthetic pleasure that they give us.
[01:48] But also, for me, it's really important that WoW Forever sets fit in the aesthetic of the game. A hundred percent. And I've put these sets on standard definition models as well, just to kind of give it that proper forever feeling.
[02:02] I think you've gone the right route here. I'm going to be keeping an eye out for lighting and water effects on these. Oh, wow. A slight change in 2016. We're not drinking any wine today, because we're going to pick the kids up from school later on,
[02:14] and that would be really irresponsible. Speaking of irresponsible, let's talk about WoW Forever. Okay, go, go, go, go, go, go, go. Which class do you think this is for, Eritrean? Well, Wild guess it's a Druid. As you can see, we're just taking all of these from Wild Head, because that's what we've got.
[02:28] They don't display in-game at the moment. Oh, no. This is, in fact, Druid. It's very Druid-coded, and like quite a lot of these sets, it is, I think, hear me out, quite retail-coded as well.
[02:41] What do you think? Ooh, I mean, looking at this, I could see this as, like, a leveling set in retail. Legion retail? The feathers that kind of spray outwards. Like that? That is very retail-coded, in my opinion.
[02:54] When I look at this, it makes me think of the Legion set. We have logos on the shoulders. They have those feathers coming out. I think they're a bit more intense, those ones. But it's giving me some old-school vibes. The horns, you've got this nice kind of, like, low-poly fur,
[03:10] a lot of feathering going on. I thought that was just like the model going full-on board escape 3. We get to go to the side on the pube showage from underneath. The silhouettes are druid to me, but again, it says more recent druid.
[03:22] For me, older, more classic druids have slightly kind of higher silhouettes loaded towards the top with their shoulders. I would call that an almost M-shaped silhouette. That's the druid shape from our legion onwards. In my head, right, maybe that doesn't stand up to historic scrutiny, but that's just what I feel.
[03:38] Yeah. I like how green it is. It comes in different colourways, obviously. I like the horns. I like the... I don't know, I literally just turn these upside down. I have like the opposite silhouette. You want the shoulders going up?
[03:50] Yes, I genuinely, like I want that shape really. Or I slide them up the shoulders a little bit. So they're coming like a little bit further up the head like that. That's so picky, I know. Otherwise I kind of like it. I'm kind of with you.
[04:02] I think it's just like a little too elegant. I think droves need just like a little bit of like, feathers need to be sticking out and like slightly symmetrical. This is it for me, right?
[04:14] It is the feather shape out of the shoulder pad. It's so modern well. It's so recognizable. You know what does that too? Those like cloaks that you get now in the art class? Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a lot of like swooping outwards. It's just not a shape you generally have.
[04:27] In pre-Catharine, it just says modern well so much. It's like that kind of shoulder shape and the way it comes out like that. Oh, and that's what's doing to me. It's kind of taking me out of my forever mood, despite the design, which I think is otherwise fine.
[04:43] On the back of the hood, there's this druid symbol, but it just looks like an eyeball, and it makes it look like you're a cyclops, which is the view you're going to always see of it, right? Oh, no. It's going to look like you're being watched as you're running the whole time,
[04:56] with, like, the eye in the back of their head. I think this is as close as we're ever getting to playable ogres. Oh, that gives it an extra point. Okay, speaking of which, I give you the score out of ten for this one. Ooh, it's tough.
[05:08] I'm going to give it a seven and a half. I'm going to give it a seven as well. Yeah? Yeah, because I like the design. I think the design fits. The design's cool. It's just those shoulders. The shoulders spoil it for me, and they take me right into, like, modern wow years.
[05:20] Oh, I've been looking forward to this one, Evie. I've been looking forward to all the joy that the Hunter sets have given us in the past in these Tearset videos, and now we get to do it in a whole new game. What do you think of your first wow forever Tearset, Evertel?
[05:35] This is kind of crazy, but I love it. This is, this is Rexxar. Yeah. You've got, you've got Rexxar and you've got skulls stuck to your shoulder.
[05:47] Brilliant. Yeah. But there's something about it. I think having it in like the forever environment, in the forever vibe, low polying it a little bit still looks good. I don't know, the skulls are a little high res. Not for the first or last time in this video, I hate the shoulders.
[06:01] There's a big wing on there. I hate the shoulders that really take me out of it. Why? Why? Just press a few polygons from there. Just make them a little more. Not the polygons. Okay, this is a common mistake, I feel. I'm not saying that you're mistaken.
[06:13] No, no, no. It's only a shoulder theory. I'm really curious. People are saying, well, too high res, they're too high poly. They're not. The problem is, like, the design language of Kia and Transmod has changed over the years,
[06:25] and these very kind of rounded shoulder pads, they're modern well, you know? Like, if you compare this to the T1 Hunter set, right? It was sharp, angular, right?
[06:38] It was big. I mean, that's the detail. That was a weird, weird... It was a male set embellished with hauntory, skinny, leathery type things. Whereas this is, I call the modern wow style,
[06:50] it's been this since War of the General, rock painting. It's like, blades look like they could be made out of rock, but they're just painted. Shoulders look like they could be made out of rock, painted. And this is the same for this. They're bones and they're skeletons,
[07:02] but the entire thing could be rock painted. And that's a design choice. There's nothing wrong with it. I like it in modern wow. But if we're doing a Wow Forever set, which is supposed to fit in classic and vanilla, I'm not sure I feel the same. And, like, these cuts of fur underneath the skull on the right-hand shoulder pad as well,
[07:19] and the left-hand ones, for that matter. Again, just, like, very modern. Wow. So modern. Because we have so much of that popping up with, like, test cars. I think the rest of the set, though, was very, very cool. Oh, look at that little, like, Batman, Catman thing he's got going on.
[07:35] Like, that is so shit. But it's so good. Yeah, you were right the first time. Batman, Catman. I think this is going to look very, very cool on an orc in particular. Yeah, he's going to eat. I love how it calls back to an iconic character, an iconic look.
[07:49] And despite its, like, gloss and sheen, if it has to be anything that's kind of up-res, like, I love this. This is going to look so cool. Look at this stupid little face. I think the Rexar reference definitely scores it a lot of extra points for me.
[08:04] Absolutely That carries it for me What are you putting it as I giving this an eight and a half I a big fan I going to give it an eight Okay This is made Look at that little magneto head
[08:16] This is one of my favorite ones, only because I think this one fits in forever really, really well. I think this fits with the classic vibe. It's got a good classic-y style silhouette. The runes are all around the place without being ostentatious, I don't think.
[08:32] I think it looks old school, low fantasy enough, but it stands. Do you know what's really doing it for me? Those flattened orbs on the robe. I know you have a flattened orb.
[08:45] That was 14 years ago. Look at that. Look at those little warped orbs. Look how flat they are. Look how they go over the corner of the sleeve. Oh, my God.
[08:57] Thank you. Look at his belt and that little upside down angry face. Whenever I look at it, I'm just going to look at a belt that is angry because it's been put on upside down. Exactly. It's like he wasn't looking when he got dressed. He put the belt on and the belt's like, no, oh, because it's a magic belt.
[09:11] It's a mage set. So obviously he's like, oh, I'm upside down. Another reason why I actually, despite you saying I like it, this set is going to score 0 out of 10, is because it's a mage set. Yeah. It's magic.
[09:23] Yes. And it has, in fact, got a magic hat. That hat may look nice. But think about this, when you put that hat on, it's going to magically make all of your hair disappear.
[09:35] It's a bald cap, it's a literal bald cap. So unless you've got a bald character to begin with, you are going to hate putting this hat on. Okay, but think of the transmog potential with it. No, I don't know what you mean. What is transmog? I'm playing WoW Forever, I have that told in the write-off.
[09:50] What are you even suggesting here? No, that hat is going to ruin the entire thing. You're going to hate every moment of wearing this set. That's why they've had to make, like, the headset so high at the back. So you don't actually get to see the horrific, like, damage and violence that the hat has done to your hair.
[10:07] You don't even clock back. You don't ever, everyone else will see it and they'll be laughing at you and you'll forget. You'll forget that your stupid hat has disappeared all your hair. And you'll be like, why are they laughing at me? I don't even know. So that's a zero out of ten for me.
[10:19] Sorry. Okay, but listen. No, zero out of ten. There is nothing more modern than hair popping out of your hat, right? Like, there's nothing more future-looking. No, you're wrong. There's nothing more future-looking.
[10:31] No, you're absolutely wrong, because actually, that's still a retail thing. Hats making your hair disappear is still a thing, which is why they would never make a hat like this. The technology is still as bad in Intel,
[10:44] but lessons have been learned, which aren't present here. Regardless, I love this. I love like the painted on quality of like the robes in the back. I feel like real relief with this set, but I feel like it is the right side of the line.
[10:57] This is a 9 out of 10 for me. I give it an 8.5. This is like pure mage shiz. Technical term. It's Paladin. Woohoo! Wow forever. Obviously very Paladin-centric at the moment on the beta.
[11:10] I love a Paladin. This is giving me some old school feelings, but again I'm with you where I feel like there's a shoulder problem. We have a shoulder problem in a lot of these sets in that they're really big and chunky and heroic in a retail-adjacent way.
[11:26] In a more modern way, I would say, yeah. Like, you know, obviously, like, classic wow, very big on the chunky shoulder pad. Absolutely. But they've just got a slightly different feel. Like they go like this.
[11:38] Or they go like this. You know, they've got, like, slightly less elegant angles. I don't think this is the worst offender by any means. No. In principle, this is one of my more preferred sets as well, because I think it does a really good job of recapturing the kind of classic spirit
[11:52] while sort of adding something new. It feels good. Like, look at all this kind of dead space on the shoulders and pointing towards you. Like, they didn't put anything in there. You just look at those pixels. And I think that's kind of important, actually.
[12:05] There's not too much embellishment on the shoulders. That goes a long way towards bringing it back down to classic level. And I'm a big fan of that. You do have, like, kind of cross-drapes and everything,
[12:17] and the 2D-ness of that is really cool and very evocative. I think that's terrific. And, you know, like, the kind of higher-res helms, which is what we're seeing, really, aren't we? We're seeing higher-res, like, shoulders and helms, and then more traditional kinds of the rest of the set.
[12:31] Yeah. I don't mind the detail so much on the helms compared to the shoulders. I think, you know, I'm much more willing to live with that. And, like, the design is just, like, flat out for, right? which is what, you know, Paladin is supposed to be, like, full Captain America kind of combo.
[12:47] And I think that works. I think that's really cool. Again, it's like instantly recognizable boots and gloves. Those are some old-ass boots and gloves with some texture pasted on. And that is great.
[12:59] I think the pants are a little fancy. Pants are a little fancy. Oh, do you like some fancy pants? I love a bit. I love some fancy pants. Pants are heavy, they call you. Like, obviously, it makes your hair disappear at the back. I mean, it's going to get extra points if it does that beautiful classic thing of making your beard disappear when you put it on as well.
[13:16] Of course it will. Can't tell from the original Liz Conn image, alas, unfortunately, but we'll see. To me, this is like the gleaming paladin heroism of olden days.
[13:28] It's clearly better than sort of leveling sets and dungeon sets and stuff like that, while still completely fitting in the vibe. So it scores high for me. What's it for you? I'm going to give this one an eight. Solid eight for me, I think.
[13:41] Yeah, I'm going to give it an eight as well. It's one year over. This is Your Priest. And there's lots that I like about this set. I think the design for this is phenomenal, by the way. I love the dark and light halved mask.
[13:55] That is really good. I think it's exquisite. That is so good. I love the olive leaf around the hood. I think that's fantastic. I like, again, the light and the darkness. the kind of the glowing gem and the skull.
[14:09] Because yeah, we play with a bit of both don't we? And also, I love the slippers. These are some of the nattiest slippers I've ever seen in World of Warcraft. Forever, retail, classic.
[14:21] These are literally the finest slippers I've ever seen. If this was a retail set, I'd be like 10 out of 10. No joke. This is awesome. This is like a really, really good set. I can't wait for the mythic item effects on it. It's stunning.
[14:33] It's like the eye balls and all that thing. But it's not a retail set, Evie. It's a WoW Forever set. And as such, I don't think this one looks as out of place as some of the others do.
[14:45] I don't know. It's got a very distinctive silhouette. Now, you could argue that it's not really a priest silhouette. I wouldn't disagree with you. But the design of this one is so unique that it doesn't make me think of any other priest sets or modern sets in the game.
[15:00] And actually, weirdly, even though it doesn't kind of play by classic rules, really, because it also doesn't play by retail rules, it actually fits. I think that's the main point. You know, compare this to the Druid one.
[15:13] And the problem is not so much that it doesn't really fit in forever so much. It's that it actually brings to mind more modern sets. I initially saw this and I thought, oh, this is far too high res. This is far too much of a retail fluid.
[15:26] But then, yeah, like, going through my mind, it's not actually evoking any existing retail sets. Yeah. Like, the shape of the head. It's got a little pointy chin. I love it. It's got a little pointy little chin.
[15:38] I love it. It's so good. I like such a good set. This design is 11 out of 10. Yeah. The design is stunning. In terms of, like, the concept, yeah, okay, it would fit really well into modern wow. This is one of the only ones where I'm like, well, it's not really, like, classic, but I'm actually okay with it in this sense.
[15:54] That's not docking any points for me. If you're just wearing those robes and gloves and shoes, you're just some guy. You're just a priest who, like, maybe ran some dungeons, right? Yeah, yeah. Put the shoulders and the helm on there,
[16:06] and you are, like, the cream of the crop. I disagree with you. I think anyone seeing you walking around in those slippers would be like, oh, my God, this guy's a big deal. Have you seen those slippers Where you get your slippers bro This is a nine for me I mean give it an 8 No I going to give it an 8 I going to give it an 8 just because I not bothered
[16:25] by the fact that it doesn't really fit into it. I'm not bothered by it. But I feel I can't give much. For me, the perfect set is going to be both. Like, it's going to excite me design-wise
[16:37] as much as this. You're right. But it also, like, fits seamlessly into classic as well. So, I mean, I dock it one point for that, even though it doesn't bother me, and I'm going to give it an 8. Actually, do you know what?
[16:49] There's another set which I gave a high score, and I like this one just as much as that one in different ways, and I wouldn't feel good. I'm going to have to give it an 8.5 like I did that one as well.
[17:01] For sure. It's no less good than that one, for sure. Exactly. Okay, okay. Can I sway you towards the 8.5? Can I help you justify the 8.5? I just said I was going to do it, but please do. Yeah, any insight? The face is like, it sums up the feeling of like walking through the new light shaft.
[17:19] Right? Like at one point you're in shadow, and then at another point you're in the light. Right? I'm actually taking away a point again now. No, 8.5. This is rogue. What are you giggling about?
[17:31] Why are you chuckling about? It was a little bald head. You won't be chuckling when you're on your PVP server. No. And you're walking along the street. and this guy comes sneaking out the shadows for you. This guy's going to destroy me.
[17:44] I mean, is there anything more iconic for a rogue than just, like, a red face mask? Yeah, exactly. Right? Even if it is a red face mask with weird kind of strappy bits around the side. Exactly, exactly. I don't know what it is.
[17:57] I don't know what it's trying to be. It looks kind of weird. It's like defiant brotherhood. Like, it is just evocative of old school wow feelings for me. Perfect for the rogue. I love that it matches nothing else in the set.
[18:09] It's just like, you see that coming for you, and you know... It's the force, it's the embellishment on that. Exactly, and you know you're going to be messed up. And then, you know, tools of the trade. You've got your little daggers under your shoulders for some reason.
[18:21] Well, again, a very modern, wow-feeling thing. Yeah, like, daggers, daggers, anything poking out from underneath your shoulders. I don't like little blades on the shoulder. And the two are on top, right? They're just on top. And again, the shoulder pads are a little bit round for me, a little bit.
[18:35] But I wouldn't mind seeing them slightly more slanted or jagged. That's good for a rogue, I think. And a bit smaller as well. I know this is a human model, right? But, like, generally, I think this set would be way better if the shoulders were just a
[18:49] bit smaller and a bit more angular and a bit less round. And, like, this would be a top-tier set for me. I like the jaunty clothing that he's presented with. Yeah, the kind of Japanese feel. Yeah, you know, he's, like, a little bit of a breakish, roguish.
[19:03] He's got that going on. Well, do you know what I like? I feel like, you know, he's walking around, okay? and he's walking around in his little clothes, he's wearing his little outfit and his outfit has a cravat, a red cravat, but then it's time to do some road shit
[19:19] and he's like yeah, and he goes like that and pulls it over his mouth and then he starts throwing everything around his head and everyone's like what what what, it was cool when you just pulled up your cravat why are you throwing everything, why are you doing that, that's so weird, why do you always do that man
[19:34] I can't hear you. I've got a red belt around my neck. I like a few of the things this does for me. I'm not in love with it, but I think it's pretty solid.
[19:46] I'm going to say a seven. Again, they're more like slender models. I think this looks way better. It scales the shoulders down a little bit and kind of makes it that much more sneaky and agile
[19:59] and sort of all the things it should be. And with that in mind, I'm going to give it a 7.5. No, actually, I'm going to give it an 8, because it does fit beautifully into the classic ethos,
[20:11] apart from the shoulders, which I'm not a huge fan of, but I could say that about pretty much every set, if I'm completely honest. So, I'm going to give it an 8. This is Charmin, and I f***ing hate this.
[20:23] It's super. I'm sorry. It makes me think of a lot of recent modern sets. That fur style is like that kind of fluffy, really cloud-like fur.
[20:36] You know, you actually get that on shop sets, which are like a pretend kobold costume. I didn't want to say the S word. It looks like one of the mascot sets from the shop. It evokes a lot of like the shop amounts as well, like kind of the furrier wool.
[20:51] Well, that's what I mean. Yeah, yeah, totally. so it loses a ton of points for that for me because it just screams retail for me now what I do like I do like the boniness of these bones
[21:04] these bones as well you know yeah if you look at the bones around the shoulders they're jagged, they're pointy in quite a classical way which I really like, I like the bones
[21:16] hate the fur yeah the bones are okay we will have to have a discussion I love the little earring. We're putting a little earring in there.
[21:29] Oh, yeah, that's cool. It's such a fruity little shaman thing to do. But yeah, I'm with you. The fur, and I think combinating to the fur and the markings, it feels so modern to me. Well, I mean, what I do like is the markings on the paws.
[21:43] They're pretty much like a druid symbol. I feel like this guy is making this kill the feral druid in a duel, and then put them over his shoulders and the hunter's like, yo, that's usually the kind of thing I do.
[21:55] He's like, well, what do you think you do, dude? I like the distortion on the skirt, but the ones on the shoulders are so high-res. I know, they do look kind of suck on. It's a mixed bag, this one, for me. There's things about it which I really love and there's things about it which I don't like at all.
[22:10] Well, I will say at least the fur is, like, it is very vertical in the way it points up and I think that does a lot to kind of make it less modern and more in keeping. Yeah, you can see how it kind of jumps out at weird angles.
[22:23] Yeah, which is good. I'm gonna have to give this one a 7. That high? Really? The more I look at it, it's not as bad as some of them. You know, and the bones are sharp and cool. I'm gonna give it a 7 as well then.
[22:38] That actually puts it lower than the Druid set, which I can't do. It's clearly... Is it better than the Druid set? I think it's better than the Druid set. Both of them are very modern looking to me.
[22:50] They are. It's not even that they're too high res or too high poly. No, no. They literally just make me think of specific modern sets, right? Mm-hmm. So, ah, but it is at least as good as the Druid one, so I'm gonna give it 7.5. I'm gonna give it 7.51.

[24:49] and I think this is like the antidote for a lot of the problems I've been seeing with a lot of these sets. I like how gnarly it is. It's got a good bend in its little shoulders. It's kind of ugly in a sense.
[25:01] If you look at these shoulders, there's about a thousand times more polygons in this shoulder set than you find in, I mean, the true tier one. But I don't think it matters because it does keep that kind of, like, jagged, sharp design language, right?
[25:15] You know, like the skull with the teeth. It managed to look low poly whilst being quite high poly, which I really... And this is recognizing the assignment and fulfilling it. The shape and the silhouette of the shoulders doesn't look like modern wow to me.
[25:30] It's much more in keeping with a classic style silhouette, which I really, really appreciate. The chains. Oh, those are my favorite part. Look at those janky chains. They look much lower res and poly than they actually are, which totally works for me.
[25:44] And the way they go over the hood like that. They're so blocky. Even like the shadow effect over the face is a really old school shadow effect. This is like really understanding the assignment. Fresh and newer, but got that kind of older, wow-feeling design language going on.
[25:59] It doesn't evoke any real modern set. For me, this kind of ticks every box. This one is really, really good. I think one thing that you see a lot of with more modern sets,
[26:11] I think like with Warlock especially, you get this embrace of asymmetry sometimes. and there's something about just like straight up janky symmetry, like just straight up mirror energy,
[26:24] especially for a warlock when you have all these weird little things going on that really, really work. It's like the chain patterns. That evokes something for me. I really love that. The polygons are there, but they've done something really good with their work.
[26:40] It just gets it. I mean, like, you know, our big complaint has been the way the shoulder pads look too modern and they're too much, right? And these ones have just as much detail in them. These ones have just as many polys
[26:52] or anything like that, but it's just the language of it. And, you know, as a warlock, you're going to feel like a ball by putting these shoulders on. They're like easily the best shoulders, looks-wise, that you're going to get in-game.
[27:04] And you're going to be like, wow, okay, I mean, that's a step above the shit I've been wearing, okay? Absolutely incredible. But it generally looks like one of the Dreadlord models, their faces in Warcraft 3 when they're in like this little talking head thing.
[27:17] Where they come in like, oh, you will never go to the beach. And it's got that kind of look to it. And again, it just speaks to that classic WoW feel, which I absolutely adore. This is how you do it. This is what it is. They've pulled it off with this one.
[27:29] This is what tier sets in WoW Forever should be. It's a 10 out of 10 for me. Wow, this is really solid for me. This is a solid 9. Give me a 9. Warrior. Okay.
[27:41] Well, maybe it's just this colorway, but something about this is feeling a little modern to me. I'll tell you what it is. What is it? It's all of the horns.
[27:53] The horns are curved in a way that on the head, you just about get away with it. But on the shoulders, again, it's that down and up thing that like modern shoulder pads, like the embellishments on modern shoulder pads have.
[28:06] If you isolated these shoulders, there's no way I would think that they were there forever. and the little fluffy bits underneath, that very modern cloud-like, very fluffy... Oh, that always does it. ...like hair and fur underneath there.
[28:19] It makes it feel too modern. And, you know, the set looks nice. Please don't think that I'm... Oh, good. If it's modern, it can't be good. No. Okay? The set looks really good. It looks a bit out of place to me, personally. I think there's too much going on for a warrior.
[28:32] There's too many details. He has a gem. He has this blue thing. He has this gold. There's brown. There's blue. There's gold. There's fur. there's red there's gems there's studs
[28:44] there's straps it's like keep a warrior simple for me I like it when the sets are particularly the painted bits which aren't three dimensional I like it when they're really detailed
[28:56] almost a bit over fussy with these kind of more classic sets I think that's cool for me yeah it's too grand the only thing I love about this is like the stupid little glowing red eyes yeah that really wills old school
[29:08] to me beyond the horns the shape of the helmet is very good. I like how it's like dead straight down there. The shape is great but like way too much detail and embellishment I think for a warrior.
[29:20] I'm sure other people will have like different opinions but oh, it's frustrating. This set is frustrating. It could be really, really good. I know. And like, and I think if you look at the gloves, right, those look good. The shading on them
[29:32] looks properly old school but then the shoulders like are almost the bronze is almost this higher. There's more highlighting in it. Yeah, They're more highlighting. They're different. Oh, these are going to carry over to retail?
[29:44] You know, this is essentially data mining because these aren't available in gaming. Exactly. So maybe they will be down-res further. But as it stands, what's your score? I'm going to have to give this one a seven. I'm disappointed in the high-res activity going on here.
[29:58] Yeah, I'm going to give it a seven as well. Well, Evie, we have our winner. Yay! Oh, look who's the winner. Hooray. But, you know, special mentions to the priest and the mage as well. I don't like the Hunter being that far up, if I'm completely honest.
[30:11] I think the Paladin set is better than the Hunter set. Personally, the Shaman, Druid, Warrior are the ones that really don't work for me. And the Rogue one actually does work for me. Yeah, it's really just about that special.
[30:23] I'm with you totally. I think Priest brought something really, really special and managed to pull off being a little high-resonant over the top, but it still felt like it fit. Mage just had that forever feeling for me.
[30:35] It just felt good. Warlock absolutely takes the crown, and I am happy to see Hunter doing well. And some of these do look a lot better in the BlizzCon trailers than they do in the datamines.
[30:47] So, you know, kind of reserving judgment in a little way. We're just kind of going with what we've got in front of us here. Generally, I feel like there are sets amongst these that fall into some more modern,
[30:59] WoW kind of design language traps, but generally, I think they've done a really good job. The warlock is the prime example that should be held up for everyone making sets like this going forward.
[31:11] But yeah, the mage one worked really well. And the priest may be an idea and a kind of a sign of what you can do by basically ignoring classic design language, but still staying away from more modern world design language.
[31:25] And I'd love to see that priest set in retail, honestly, it'd be fantastic. Yeah, there's a fine line to tread for a lot of these, And some of them managed to capture that forever feeling in different ways, which is pretty cool.
[31:37] You know, in game, we'll wait and see what they look like. That's just what it looks like for us in isolation at the moment, and that's how we've rated it. Plenty to look forward to. This was your first ever Wow Forever tier set ranking video.
[31:52] But what do you think? What have we completely misunderstood? What sets do you completely disagree with us on how we rated them? What would you put at the top, and what would you put at the bottom? and why don't we understand what we're talking about. You told us how wrong we are for the last 10 years.
[32:05] Don't stop now. Just keep it going, guys. Let us know in the comments below. And thanks for joining us today. If you like this video, don't thank us. Thank our patrons who give us an actual, real-life money to make all of our work happen.
[32:17] And patrons, seriously, thank you. Because without you, there'd be a whole lot less Taliesin there. If you didn't like it, downvote the shit out of it. And remember, my name is Zico. Hey! Where's all my gold? No, my name is Taliesin.
[32:29] Oh, where do I go? But for this meeting, she never had it. For me, and for me, and me too. See ya.
