14:19[00:00] that the best YouTube content creators in every niche do These are things that separate them that ultimately ends up serving their viewers better.
[00:15] and you can start applying them to your videos which is starting right now. So when it comes to YouTube, a lot of content creators
[00:31] then they start thinking about, how can I title this? How can I shoehorn this video into a thumbnail and title? you're increasing the likelihood that your thumbnail
[00:46] and title are not going to set up the best expectation When that happens, people leave the video quickly, which then works against you.
[00:58] with the video idea, then before they commit what am I gonna do for the thumbnail for this, The reason they do this is because, first,
[01:12] to be able to package the video up in a way The second reason they do this is to make sure in order to put the thumbnail together.
[01:27] and they're thinking about if this video shows up and somebody decides to click on it, what might that viewer expect as soon as the video starts?
[01:40] is going to grab people's attention make the best video possible Taking this approach will not only help people
[01:54] and how you can present that topic but it's also going to help people be able what they expect when they click on it,
[02:07] The next thing that the best YouTube content creators do Simple is usually best, and they lean on that. of different imagery in their thumbnails,
[02:21] they'll usually focus a thumbnail on very few key elements. and if they do include text, They make sure that there's a very clear focus point
[02:34] that that content the style of the thumbnail also helps people identify But the big idea that the best content creators use
[02:49] and to make sure that you keep that as simple is to grab the viewer's attention, The next thing that the best YouTube content creators do
[03:02] they use open loops in their titles. comes from the filmmaking industry. and you create anticipation
[03:14] You can use open loops in your video content, and you can also use it in your titles when they get the opportunity, of course,
[03:27] Pat Flynn, "Stop selling info and do this instead." and two, he has the solution and what that does is that opens the loop for the person
[03:41] and it says, first, I'm getting challenged here. I need to click on this so that I can go in and have that understanding shade diversity.
[03:54] He's gotta focus on the lights saber to grab the attention He shows himself for his fans to be able And then the open loop is presenting to the viewer an idea
[04:08] who invented it haven't actually done it yet. I wonder if they've got something really cool that loop to understand what it is that he's talking about.
[04:26] MKBHD, here's the thing about the M three MacBook Air. which is something that we talked about earlier. that it's his video, but when it comes to the open loop,
[04:40] or people that are considering getting the Air there's something with this that you need to know about, in order to understand or know what it is
[04:55] should be ending videos this way. and you gotta click on it when you see him in the thumbnail, and helps you connect as a YouTuber.
[05:10] it makes you the content creator say, oh, wait, I need to click on this video to get that information to close that loop so that I can understand a better way
[05:25] The next thing the best YouTube content creators do as soon as the video starts. about how the best content creators will think
[05:39] before they commit to making the video? that the viewer's gonna have to make the video itself, they can make sure
[05:52] goes into the video, this is that moment. after they built that expectation, then they have some type what they're expecting outta that video.
[06:07] that they said in the thumbnail and title. that they made in the thumbnail and title. that illustrates the idea
[06:20] but the big idea is that they're meeting that expectation is what you're going to get. what it is that you're expecting out of this.
[06:32] that they said in the thumbnail and title, that the viewer is going to get or they simply show something to the viewer
[06:45] that they're going to get what they came in for. this is such a big deal and then making that connection again in the video content
[06:58] that they're rolling out to creators what they do there is they actually pick the thumbnail So that means whichever thumbnail
[07:11] is the one that's going to be the winner. that YouTube even leverages this concept to ensure that they expect,
[07:24] is to consider those things for the people that are interacting with our content. up with their video topics themselves,
[07:38] is going to be most qualified and then they start knocking things out of the way or be interested in that content.
[07:51] in Cincinnati, Ohio that was closing down and the title of that video then the qualifiers for people
[08:03] about what's going on in Cincinnati. about a donut shop closing down in the first place. to be interested in donuts in some capacity.
[08:16] on that video when it's presented to them. around podcasting content and live streaming content. on this channel is called Nimmin Live.
[08:29] we answer YouTube content creator's questions. we had Brian G. Johnson on the show. that particular live stream, "Nimmin Live
[08:42] The reason for that is because the qualifiers with what Nimmin Live is, Two, you would also need to know who Brian G Johnson is.
[08:55] and if you don't know either one of those, which means that most people won't click on it. I knew that Brian, Dee and myself
[09:09] what I would do is I would title that particular live stream Now, the difference there is when I optimize it then you have all these qualifiers in place.
[09:24] your YouTube channel using search engine optimization, to a lot of people based on the topic by itself, What matters is that a conversation is taking place
[09:39] to click on podcasts and live streams more into what it is that you audience cares about, So because of that, you are leaning on the topic itself
[09:54] So when you're considering is this going to go out or the largest amount of people within my niche, The next thing that the best YouTube content creators do
[10:08] that they're trying to get views from. They're publishing a video I want this to get more views from the homepage.
[10:22] and they're packaging everything it is that they're doing, for those particular pages of YouTube. and remember as I'm showing you these examples,
[10:36] these decisions are being made at the video ideation stage that's where these decisions are being made. "How to make a chocolate cake in under 30 minutes",
[10:50] what you're hoping for is when people type When it does the under 30 minutes part as long as that's a good thing for a chocolate cake.
[11:04] This next one is targeted towards homepage This chocolate cake recipe is delicious now to be clear, the difference
[11:19] you are optimizing for people looking for the content. you have to qualify it by saying, is this something If the answer is yes, then in that case,
[11:33] If and only if you are trying to target YouTube search. of this chocolate recipe is delicious and healthy, and they're not searching for it,
[11:47] and it's not something to where if somebody sees it, It's more about you're trying to introduce them to the idea with a delicious looking piece of cake in the thumbnail,
[12:00] it's delicious and it's healthy. all this starts at the ideation stage, so you would need But the idea is when you are thinking about these things,
[12:14] then it helps you better target the different pages that you're making is compelling. is they focus on a very specific type of viewer.
[12:29] it seems to go against the idea that removes all those obstacles for people to be able very specific people that are interested
[12:42] when it comes to YouTube what everybody does is we target very specific groups and we just keep giving them more content that they enjoy.
[12:58] because everything on our channels when it comes to the brand deals we do And when you're targeting a very specific type of viewer,
[13:12] to understand the nuance about things that people care about of things, they like this. So it can help you fine tune your content
[13:25] this also helps you in YouTube's recommendation system that are enjoying your content across all their other users and they're like, hey,
[13:39] Okay, let's test some of this content that machine for you. When you target a very specific type of viewer
[13:52] Okay, with this video idea, is this a good fit Okay, well, I'm not gonna publish it then. Is it a good fit for these people?
[14:05] to do that brand deal. So when you focus on a specific audience, The next thing the best YouTube content creators do
[14:19] Sure, they might speak a little bit louder or maybe they communicate just like they do normally, and sharing themselves of the world,
[14:33] that holds small channels back instead of leaning into themselves that they think about things.
[14:46] it will help you make better connections with the people and it'll just make you a better creator overall, that makes entertainment content and she plays a character,
[15:00] and she'll put that character on, than when she comes out of the room. that the best YouTube content creators do
[15:12] that adds value to their viewers in some way. We all know that it's difficult to get people especially if you're just getting started,
[15:25] on making good videos and getting better if it does bad, you focus on getting better and understanding the people that you're reaching
[15:39] to add value to those people that are interacting You got this, and hey, if you need help along the way, around your YouTube channel.
[15:52] Thank you so much for watching, I'll see you next time.
