Why I NEVER Trade Longs in Premium
60sControversial trading rule with strong opinion sparks debate and engagement from traders.
▶ Play Clip"Title promises 'mystical tings' but delivers a standard live trading session with music and chat; some value but padded with filler."
This video is a live day trading session focused on futures, primarily NQ and ES. The trader shares his market bias, executes trades based on his plan, and discusses the importance of maintaining a loose bias and accepting losses. The session also includes music, viewer interaction, and reflections on trading psychology.
The trader asks viewers whether they are bullish or bearish, noting a mix of responses. He emphasizes that his bias is loose and that he will react to price action in the moment.
He explains that while a larger time frame bias is important, it doesn't dictate his immediate trades. He looks at buy-side liquidity and expects the market to draw to it eventually, but not necessarily at open.
He notes a 350-point move in the overnight session, making him bearish at open. He prefers to see manipulation first (taking highs) then a break lower to rebalance into the 1-hour fair value gap.
He states he would never touch longs when deep in premium, emphasizing better risk-reward for shorts. He only considers longs after a rebalance.
He stresses keeping bias loose to confidently react to market moves. Holding onto a bias prevents taking trades when the market shows a different direction.
The high is taken early, which aligns with his plan. He waits for a retracement lower to enter a short.
He takes a short stab with a tight stop, noting it's early. He scales in with two contracts and moves stop to break even after a five-minute change.
He gets stopped out, noting it was a few points from his first profit target. He remains calm and waits for more context.
He takes another short at the fair value gap, scaling in low size. He gives himself two entries per trade setup.
He is stopped out again, down $12,000 total. He reflects that he followed his plan and took the trades he wanted.
He emphasizes not being tied to outcomes and not seeking validation from the market. He plans to journal and reflect after the session.
He advises knowing when to step away and not forcing trades. He says your day should be big wins, small losses, and small wins.
He recaps his two losses, noting the first was close to profit target and the second had execution issues. He remains positive, emphasizing following his plan.
The trader demonstrates discipline by following his plan, accepting losses, and maintaining a loose bias. He emphasizes the importance of journaling and not being emotionally tied to outcomes, ending with encouragement to enjoy the day.
What is the trader's bias at market open and why?
He is bearish because the market is deep in premium after a 350-point overnight move, and he prefers to see manipulation first then a break lower.
05:20
Why does the trader say he would never touch longs when deep in premium?
Because the risk-reward is better for shorts, and longs are not favorable when price is overextended.
06:03
What is the importance of keeping a loose bias?
To confidently react to market moves in the moment, without being stuck on a preconceived bias.
07:54
How many trades did the trader take and what was the outcome?
He took two short trades, both stopped out, resulting in a $12,000 loss.
01:30:29
What does the trader say about being tied to outcomes?
He says you cannot expect to win every day, and being tied to outcomes leads to seeking validation from the market.

57:28[00:11] ain't no river enough. Baby, river enough. Baby, >> call me
[00:24] baby. >> Yo,
[00:36] >> Happy Thursday. >> Happy Thursday.
[00:48] [ __ ] day today. >> I can smell it. I can feel it in my bones right now. My my vibrational frequency is through the roof.
[01:02] mountain >> guys.
[01:33] >> Let's go. My favorite song ever. This is absolute banger. Absolute banger. It's a classic song. It's like a always a good feelood song.
[01:48] finish my 9 to5. Ready for them profits or losses. There we go.
[02:07] Hopefully everybody is doing well. We got a uh an interesting day ahead of us. time till market open. We got like 18 minutes or so, but I want to run through
[02:19] kind of hang out here for the morning until open, listen to some music, vibe out, but I want to go over uh my bias here first. So, can we can we get I want to I want to I'm very curious. Put in the chat
[02:34] I'm very curious. Put in the chat whether you think that I'm bearish or know what you guys are. Are you bullish or are you bearish going into the day? little breakdown of what you guys are thinking.
[02:56] Bearish. Bullish. Bullish. Bullish. Bullish. Bullish. Bullish. Bearish. We're kind of all over the place right now. We kind of got a solid mix. I think I'm seeing a little bit more B bulls. Bear bear.
[03:11] I mean, we're pretty like smack down in the middle, I feel like. Oh, yeah. Wait, can I do a poll in the chat? Wait, hold on. Start a poll.
[03:52] Okay. I'm going to tell you what I am. before I tell you what I am, actually, I'm going to give you a little bit of rundown. bigger time frame. When we look at the 4
[04:07] noticing. And we also need to stay separated a everybody, right? And the is because I'm going to tell you why it kind of really doesn't matter. Bigger time frame bias, everybody's always focused on like what's my what's my
[04:22] liquidity, right? And that's important to have, but my bigger time frame draw hour is not going to really matter when it comes to me taking a trade and being me right then and there. So I can look at this chart and I can say, hey,
[04:37] as buy side. I want to see the market draw to that eventually. Now, is the market going to do that right at open? Probably not. It could, right? But probably not, right? That's another 200 point move. Now, why does it also seem
[04:52] less realistic for that to happen than it is to possibly be bearish in the morning first? Because we've already had a 330 point move in the overnight session is resting and where midnight open is, Asia session is all the way
[05:06] back down here, right? So, we we displaced 350 points away from Asia, right? So, midnight open is resting all the way down here. So that makes me look at the previous Asia session highs which was right here from yesterday. So
[05:20] of relative equal highs here and we're coming back to the recent weekly opening coming back to the recent weekly opening gap. Now I would want to prefer to see manipulation at open first to go higher to go take this and then break lower to
[05:34] see a rebalance back into the 1 hour for value gap. Now, when we can rebounce market can then tell me if I want to be more bearish or more bullish because if build price action here and then see a continuation towards the external draw
[05:50] once we rebalance first. So, going into the open, it makes more sense for me to be bearish, looking to see those highs get taken first than it is me being bullish and taking a long, especially when we're such deep in price action,
[06:03] right? And also ask yourself what's going to give me better risk and what am not confident taking a [ __ ] long here. I don't know who is. Maybe you are, but for me I when we're deep in premium and we've we've pumped this
[06:16] hard, I I do would never touch longs here. Literally would never touch longs. Now the only way that I could touch longs is if we rebalance on the bigger look to trade the rebalance back to the 1 hour free value gap? What does the
[06:29] inefficiencies and hunts liquidity. So, I want to go see us hunt these equal highs that we have right above us, right? I want to see market open, go look for internal manipulation, and then look to see if we can get a sell model.
[06:42] see if we have a 4 hour here as well. The 4 hour won't open until 10:00, open, and so we can maybe see that. But the 1 hour, we have this 1 hour for volume gap that hasn't been tapped. Same thing over on ES, right? We have this 1
[06:56] would make more sense for me to look to take a long if we can see something like this first than it is we just pump it open. Now, if we pump that open, it is it is what it is. There's no really trade for me if that's the case, right?
[07:11] And that's just focusing on practicing good habits, right? There's no trade if we just pump it open. So, I would prefer to see if we can get a short setup. Um, doing right now, which is leave that high intact and start to see a a short
[07:27] model, which is like if we break this fair value gap and we break lower before going into open or before we take those highs. I don't want to see that because to say, okay, well, is the market going to short before we take the high? I
[07:41] don't want to do that, right? I want to see us market open, go higher, take the high, then go lower, right? Buy clear. Okay, we're going to see what happens at open. Obviously, again, this is a bias that I keep loose in my head, right?
[07:54] Anytime that we talk about what whenever you get into the market, whenever you're sitting in whatever market's about to open, always remind yourself that my bias is loose, right? I because if my bias is not loose and I'm holding on to
[08:07] it, I'm not going to be able to confidently react to what the market's showing me in the moment it shows me it, right? So, I could be bearish going into present something. so clearly bullish, but I'm like, "Oh, no, no, no. I'm
[08:20] Right? And then I won't be able to take anything, right? And I'm not going to be let market open. We're going to let it do its thing. We're going to have a great day. We're going to listen to some good music. We're going to vibe out.
[08:33] going to answer some questions. And overall, it's going to be a good overall, it's going to be a good Thursday. So, everybody's morning going so far? Where are we? Where are we based? Where
[08:48] curious. Where are you guys where are you guys listening from right now? Where are you guys watching from?
[09:04] Germany. Oh, England, UK, London, Italy, Germany, Texas, Serbia, Houston, Seattle, Georgia, Scandinavia, Scotland, Australia. We got the whole damn [ __ ] world here. Oh my goodness. South Africa, Michigan, Turkey, Quebec,

[10:40] Actually, we'll listen to that today. Also, tomorrow ASAP Rocky drops, I Also, tomorrow ASAP Rocky drops, I think.
[11:16] >> Let me make sure my uh copy trader is working. >> Okay. All right. We're good to go. Everybody right now.
[11:38] >> Let me make a post on Instagram real quick, too.
[12:30] Okay. So, we're just capping now.
[12:51] Okay, this high got taken, which is exactly what I wanted to see early. So,
[13:25] Oh you. Yeah, here on my own.
[13:55] What was the volume indicator? It's a volume profile. >> I just put it on my chart to see where the where the volume nodes are.
[14:26] >> we got 6 minutes. In 6 minutes when market opens, music off. Dial in. market opens, music off. Dial in. >> Until then, we jam.
[15:10] What was the last song? >> Uh, it was looking for love disclosure. you on Trading View, you can create a template. If you right click it,
[15:25] template. If you right click it, template, and then save as. So, I just go to settings, put a label on it, and then I save it as a template.
[15:38] overextended? 100%. That's why I want to be bearish at open, but I want to wait high because we could shoot to this high. We We could absolutely just go would prefer to see a retracement lower at open.
[16:26] I'm addicted and I just can't get enough.
[16:50] >> Some jam. Oh, Jqua is so good.
[17:16] a chance to get to heaven. I used to worry about the future. I used to worry about the future. >> I threw my caution to the wind. no. >> Until I took a trip to the other side of
[17:32] town. You know, I heard that boogie. You know, I heard that boogie. Hey, I had no chance to get down down. Hey, I had no chance to get down down. Nothing else I need to do but dance.
[17:47] >> All these bad times I'm going through. Dance Dance got candy in my heels tonight.
[18:18] >> Y'all want the playlist so bad. Actually, like a playlist that I made. There's only 36 songs on this. So, I'll I'll
[18:35] give you this. I'll give you this. >> This is I don't even remember when I made this cuz I didn't finish the playlist. So, there's only 37 36 or 37 tracks on it. But, it's a good playlist. There's some vibes on it for sure. I
[18:48] There's some vibes on it for sure. I mean, it's literally called vibes. So,
[19:02] >> this is Guys, one minute. One minute. One minute. One minute. All right. One last one last rip before we before we go. we before we go. Ricky James.
[19:38] you wouldn't make love to me. You went fast asleep. You wouldn't even talk to me. You say I'm so crazy.
[19:54] >> I said I just want to love you. >> I just want to love you, baby. >> Why I'm so elated. >> Come on, girl.
[20:10] >> All right. Mark it open. Mark it open. Mark it open. I got him. I'm down. Okay,
[20:30] This would be my five minute change in the state of delivery here. through. See if we can start getting lower.
[20:54] I want to I don't want to see us I want to see us get below this, but if I don't open. I would rather see us if we can close below it. Oh, we're kind of trying close below it. Oh, we're kind of trying to hold it or not.
[21:21] where we can close below this. You could it's it's early entry, but it's it is below it. But I'd like to see us dance here and then see a next leg lower. this though, then we're still bullish and I'm still just watching All right.
[22:28] Stay patient like a little duckling waiting for his mommy.
[23:09] for I got super early into the open right now. So, super early into the open right now. So, just waiting. Just waiting.
[23:36] >> All right, I'm going to give a short stab early here. Stop's going to be tight. It flipped. Didn't get that close.
[23:50] My stop's at that recent high here. want to see us get below this down close candle on the one minute and then break through the five minute I'm in two cons I'm not in full size I'll see if I can scale into a position
[24:06] again this is early but I like it there's the fivem minute but I like it there's the fivem minute change stop to break even need to see us close below this
[24:52] it's like I have no idea how much we want to displace again. would want to still pretty early. But now we just got the close, so it's looking good so far. We're just going to let this do its thing.
[25:14] And we're way above minute. We're way above minute open.
[25:55] at this low. The reason I have this cuz there's some here and we're and it's around equilibrium of this range.
[26:14] but I want to see ES fall because if ES falls, then NQ should dump. I'd want to see that get ran through, right? But risk is on the table.
[26:27] right? But risk is on the table. Letting the market do its thing here.
[27:46] I follow my plan. My plan going into the day was I want to see a beer. through and we close below this change. Now my entry of what I was looking for higher and we got below these series of down close candles I entered in
[30:07] want to see again that change in state hold. But ES is holding bullish.
[30:39] want to see this get rejected and then sell back off.
[32:09] accepting risk right now. Let the market do its thing. minute bearish for valley gap. Buy side gets taken. This is my model. You sit here and you just let the market do its thing.
[34:29] >> All righty. Stopped that right there. Totally fine with that. Now, it was unfortunate cuz we're around a couple points away from my first PT. Almost got tapped, but again, right now, this sign right here, if this invalidates and this
[34:43] super bullish. Now, we could end up wicking this. So, right now, I'm just going to stay still. Let the market give me more context still like wick this and then just like immediately dump there might I might
[34:56] reenter depending on how price looks. But if we want to go higher, I'm not going to fight it. Yeah, look at this 15-minute candle closer. This 15-minute candle close is super bullish. 15-minute holds. We end
[35:08] up wicking all the way back up. So, right now, just chilling. Took my trade, took a loss. Let the market do its thing here now.
[36:28] Oh, let me take these freaking limit orders off.
[36:46] Come on, girl. Give it to me, babe. Give it to me.
[37:38] I gets taken. New SMT that's bearish comes in. The 15 second to 30 seconds is a little bit too tight. I wish we could see internal manipulation on one minute. see internal manipulation on one minute. I'm still going to just watch price.
[37:54] down close candle, we are very we're going to dump to the 1 hour. manipulation because there's nothing on the one minute.
[39:03] there's two outcomes that I would see play out here. Now, if we if we play the continues to get ran through and we get above like the fiveminute candle closes above this down close candle and like new highs get made, then I would I would
[39:18] still no high probability trade that I can take when we're so deep in premium to take shorts if the model is clear from like right now what we're doing is we're having another 15-second internal model buy gets taken SMT we have a
[39:30] holding bearish I would still want to see lower prices but I'm looking for a re-entry and so far if I was to enter right now I have I was to wait for the fiveminute order block to close below this it's probably
[39:44] confidence with the model of what I below this downlo candle and then play a rebalance and then enter back short. if the short plays out. if that's what the model does.
[40:01] But it's still very early, so I'm just watching.
[40:25] many traders, and then start to work our way back down. So, if this for Val gap's Don't want to see us go yet if I can get an entry.
[40:46] And I want to see that fivem minutee candle close. We we I mean, we just opened this candle though, so
[41:39] if we can get a rebalance. But again, bias that I wanted played manipulation like beforehand. And it was hard for me to really take another entry the 15-second. That's why I would I wanted to prefer to see if we can get
[41:52] still get offered if we can get a rebalance to it. We'll see.
[43:17] If we get up to like the midpoint of this fur, I'll probably scale in.
[43:30] another short try here. Again, still low size, nothing crazy. F value gap. I'll give it one more shot again. Give myself two entries on a trade like this.
[43:45] trade like this. See what the market wants to do.
[44:41] close candle. I need to see us close below that. Got a minute left.
[44:57] >> Order filled. >> All righty. I'm done there. I am down 24 time. Let me see.
[45:45] what I wanted to see going into the day, right? So, I planned for this trade. I take my trade, take a loss, let the market do whatever it wants to do now.
[46:11] play out if we get below it. But right now we're we're having a lot of now we're we're having a lot of hesitancy. So, stopped out both times. Can't trade anymore.
[46:57] can't be on this model. It has to be has to be a new a new model in the market like let's say my short, right? So first of all, this first trade
[47:09] unfortunate. Three three points off my first PT. Second trade entry was a little lagging. Now the bias is not invalidated. The So if we do end up playing out, then I go back and journal and say, "Okay,
[47:23] well, what was the execution problem of this?" Right? >> Because I still would want to see this play out. Nothing's invalidated it.
[48:37] la. Want
[49:13] not bullish right now, bro? It's literally a long setup. Good try, literally a long setup. Good try, Justin. Bro, dumb setup.
[50:02] below that 5 minute. So we should start to see the next leg lower.
[50:16] quite amazing. Life and death is no mystery, but I want to taste it.
[50:42] feel embrace it only.
[51:21] listens to this song. >> That's crazy. Why would I feel strange?
[51:36] Something that I can't explain. I tried to deny it, >> but I can't feel
[51:49] strange. It's something that I can't explain. It's something that I can't explain. I tried to deny it, I tried to deny it, >> but I can't.
[52:13] jealous." He got Bruno Mars tickets. That What the [ __ ] and then shows me his Bruno Mars tickets.
[53:08] I know we'll be all right. Perhaps it's just imagination. Perhaps it's just imagination. Day after day, it reappears.
[53:23] >> Night after night, my heartbeat shows the fear.
[53:37] >> Is anybody still in a short right now? The market's kind of tweaking.
[53:55] >> Nice. Nice. Nice. I want to see I would I would want to see the next leg lower I would want to see the next leg lower here from this
[54:21] millie today. I just lost my [ __ ] inheritance. And I just lost my [ __ ] inheritance. And you're laughing.
[54:55] Nobody does it like the Japanese, bro. Japanese and their funk and their jazz Japanese and their funk and their jazz go so crazy.
[55:18] You love it seemed to be the cause of my tone. We never knew the changes. really gone. All the way. >> I know how much you try.
[55:31] All the same. >> You never stay to see. It's empty. >> You never stay to see. It's empty. You wanted more to take of me than I
[55:53] stressed or or tweaking from the market price action right now, don't touch it. If you're in a trade right now, let it be. Keep your stop loss in place. Just whenever we have price action like this again, what is a lot of the time the the
[56:07] things. Number one, I still I would expect this to clean up. I would expect speed up towards the downside as soon as we once we get below this down close candle. I want to see the market speed up to the downside. Now,
[56:21] keep in mind overnight session 350 point move. Now, for me, this is kind of one of those days again my goal is to show you everything, right? So, I'm not going to hide the fact that if I take a trade like today and I lose, my job is just to
[56:34] sit here and watch price action, right? You cannot expect to win every single day. And if you're going to be so tied to the outcome of it and so tied to the reflection of you and your identity, as a reflection of you as a trader, then
[56:48] you're always going to be looking for the market to validate you. I came into the day exactly the plan that I wanted to. Took a short. Now that's for me to also go back after the session, take some time, journal, reflect, go on to
[57:00] some time, journal, reflect, go on to the next day, right? situation, right? I could put myself in a bad bad situation if I'm not in the
[57:13] right headsp space or I'm not focused on the right things. I could try to just take a bunch of new entries, right? And dig a hole for myself, right? Your day should be big wins, small losses, and small wins. That's it, right?
[57:28] know when to step away. You don't know when to recognize you're going to make a when to recognize you're going to make a bad decision. you. If you're not clear with it, just be patient and wait. You don't need to
[57:42] take action every second. You can sit here. Come vibe. Come over, man. Come vibe with me. Stop giving a [ __ ] about what the market's doing right now. Come what the market's doing right now. Come vibe with me.
[57:54] We never knew the changes love could take her through. take her through. >> Can't you see I'm trying to get through?

[1:00:24] if if we want to. I mean, we're lacking displacement, so >> this might be the long. >> I already took my two trays, though. I'm done.

[1:02:47] "This is garbage. How can you listen to this?" And then like 3 to six months more listens in and I was like, "Oh, fuck." Like, "This kind of goes crazy."
