Umaru-chan Revival Announced — Full Breakdown & Transcript

[00:00] So Umaruchan is returning, and this is really surprising for one big reason. The reason why the series even ended, and he got revealed this at the end of last year, is because the author was basing Umaruchan on his sister.

[00:13] And so, wow, I'm actually shocked to see this news right now. Do you remember the heartbreaking story I covered at the end of last year in December, where the Himoto Umaruchan author opened up for the very first time on why their manga ended like it did?

[00:26] It was thanks to the manga being based on his now-deceased sister. And honestly, it was very heartbreaking, and it makes a lot of sense why the manga ended like it did. But before we had that information, a lot of people were legitimately dissatisfied with the conclusion of the manga.

[00:42] People were like, that's it, and all that. They were just left like, play me. And so, when we got that information for the very first time, Kimotu Maruchan trended worldwide. A lot of people were talking about it, a lot of different social media platforms, myself included, were talking about it,

[00:55] because it was legitimately eye-opening. It was eye-opening to kind of the struggles and, you know, depression that the author was facing for a very long time by themselves. And basically, them opening up about it showcased one big thing,

[01:09] that they were trying to be better, they were trying to open up, and trying to be healthier mentally. That was basically what it kind of seemed like. And the author laying this out there, it makes a lot of sense why, you know, Himoku Maruchan got ended like it did, like the manga just came to a swift end,

[01:24] is because of the, you know, the manga was based off of his deceased sister, well, before she died, and then when she did, it probably felt really painful. Every time he would continue writing Himouto Umaruchan, he would think of his sister, and that

[01:38] would probably be very painful, especially when you're going through a time of grief So the reason why all this is very relevant is because there been a lot that been going on with Senkaku Head aka the author of Himoto Umaruchan in the last few months honestly since the beginning of this year and I want to kind of give a timeline of events before I talk

[01:54] about the new stuff that came out literally just a day ago, new information about Himoto Umaruchan. So first off, I want to talk about the fact that in April of this year, there was an announcement

[02:06] that Senkaku Head, the creator of Himoto Umaruchan, that was writing another work, wasn't selling very well. It wasn't doing so well, basically, he was asking fans for help themselves to be able to help boost the series where, you know, it won't be axed.

[02:21] And sadly, the series was in fact axed literally at the end of last month, and it ended after like six volumes, which is really tragic. It's really sad to see, because obviously, the manga was very cutesy, it was basically just, you know, a little white manga about a father and daughter,

[02:37] and if I had to take an educated guess, most likely the manga was based on, you know, the author's personal life. Because for those that don't know, the author of, you know, Himoto, and then also the other manga that got cancelled,

[02:49] he actually has kids. He has kids, and most likely he based that work off of his kids, and he was just having fun as a father. That's pretty much what it is. It's a very innocent little thing. And so, with that coming to a close, it's kind of sad, honestly, because obviously, you know,

[03:05] I hate seeing someone, you know, kind of having bad news after bad news, especially when they're trying to get back out of depression. But then there was something that was announced literally yesterday. Now, honestly, it just came out today, literally an hour ago, that actually shocked me.

[03:19] And that is this. Himoku Maruchan by Senkaku Head will return with a new work titled Umaruchan 100 on October 1st 2026 on Yanjan Plus website and you can see the actual offer this is their official account even talking about it eight hours ago So yeah this is official this is really happening Umaru is returning and this

[03:44] honestly shocked me. It shocked me because, obviously, with how Umaru was ended, and then the information we got at the end of 2025 about the reason he's too wide-ended like he did, I'm just

[03:56] shocked to see this title even be tackled ever again. I mean, it made a lot of sense why we never got more anime, because of everything, and so seeing this, it just, it makes, like, okay, it's, like, are we actually getting a continuation?

[04:09] And the reason why I think that this is even happening, if I had to take an educated guess, is most likely money concerns. And I'm not saying this is true, this is me pouring it out of my ass, okay, I just want to make sure there's no source, this is literally just me making shit up, okay, that's literally what it is.

[04:24] But we've got to look at context clues, okay? His mom got came to an end at the end of last month, on the 30th, okay? And then, obviously, with that, he's probably looking for work. He's looking for stuff that he can work to be able to make money.

[04:36] That's obviously, he has a family, he has kids. You have to pay that, like, you know, pay utility bills. You have to make sure they have their food expenses paid, his food expenses paid. You know, everybody needs money to drive, and I don't fault the man for that.

[04:48] So, when I look at the situation with Imaru-chan coming back, this looks like a situation where he's having to bring the series back, because obviously his most possible work, and he's writing it to be able to obviously be able to afford

[05:02] probably his lifestyle, paying for, you know, his kid's lifestyle and stuff like that, which there's nothing wrong with it. So, I think that's one of the big driving forces, probably behind the scenes, of why. Now, I could be wrong, obviously, like I said, I'm pulling this out of my ass, because obviously stuff like this, networking and setting stuff like

[05:17] this up could theoretically take months it could take probably even a year So for All I know this was already in the works since literally when he dropped that news story at the end of December last year for all I know But I am still pointing this out that he obviously he had his latest work basically

[05:32] cancelled or ended, so him getting back to Umaruchan makes a lot of sense from a money standpoint. Now, regardless if that's true or not, I do think that him either willing to tackle the work of

[05:44] Maruchan is interesting because it indicates for one that he is, the audience is aware of the relationship he has with the series now, but I also think it will allow him to write a more thought-provoking

[05:56] and more gut-wrenching story. And the reason why I say that is because obviously now that his audience and people are reading Maruchan know about his sister, I feel like he's going to be able to breathe

[06:08] in different perspectives into it that will allow him to breathe life into Maruchan that we've never seen before. Now, obviously, we don't know necessarily if this is going to be a full-blown, completely, like, long-running series or not.

[06:20] For all we know, this might only run for a very special limited amount of time, five chapters or so. We don't have a lot of information, to my understanding. But still, it's very interesting to see him come back and writing again.

[06:32] I hope he's in a better headspace, honestly, because I know that has to be very painful. And then writing a work that technically is the legacy of your sister, maybe the reason why he's wanting to write it is to honor her legacy in a way, because it's like he doesn't want to end Umaru-chan

[06:46] maybe in a sad fashion or a disappointing fashion for the fans. Maybe he wants to bring it back to not just honor, you know, the fans, but his sister, and just make it where people appreciate it. That's the way to look at it.
