AI Summary
The video discusses the disturbing trend of manga authors being harassed off the internet by fans who impose their own headcanons on fictional works. The speaker highlights three specific cases, including well-known authors like Karuna and the creator of Nippon Sengoku, and blames the rise of extreme fandom behavior, particularly from yaoi shippers, for driving creators away. The rant underscores a broader mental health crisis and calls for accountability.
Chapters
The speaker claims this is the third time in four to five months that a manga author has been harassed off the internet by fans who cannot separate fiction from reality.
Karuna, author of Gotcha, was labeled homophobic and harassed until she closed her social media, later reinstating it only to prevent impersonation.
Another author faced harassment over a brief teacher-student scene in their manga, leading them to consider quitting entirely.
The most recent case involves the author of Nippon Sengoku, who was run off the internet by yaoi shippers pushing gay headcanons on straight characters.
The speaker identifies yaoi shippers as the primary cause, as they impose their preferences on authors and label them homophobic if they disagree.
The speaker notes that such extreme harassment was rare before 2020, citing Tite Kubo as a past example but not to this level.
The speaker attributes the problem to a mental health crisis, calling for action against violent individuals.
The video concludes that unless the fandom culture changes, more manga authors will be driven away by harassment, and the speaker emphasizes the need to address the underlying mental health issues in the community.

[00:01] this entire video and potentially my channel is going to get deleted because this is the third time within four to five months that a manga author has been ran off the freaking internet by insane individuals that cannot separate fiction
[00:16] perspective, okay? And the three individuals this is now happened to, this happened to Karuna, the gotcha creator author, a very very popular author by the way. She got ran off the
[00:28] internet because people were labeling her as basically homophobic. They were doing head cannon that her characters are trans or gay or whatever, all sorts of stuff. Basically, pushing so much like head cannon onto the author that it
[00:42] so much harassment. People were calling her racist, homophobic, all sorts of eventually, it got so bad, she just closed it completely where nobody can interact with her, even comment with
[00:56] they started following her onto Instagram and other places just to harass her to completely shut her off the internet. And eventually, she did reinstate her Twitter account, but she also left this on social media that
[01:12] prevent impersonation, which makes a lot of sense. I mean, she has 416,000 followers. That's a lot of followers, okay? Almost half a million people would leave the account up to prevent impersonation, but the point is is that
[01:28] they ran off a very well-known author that has a very popular anime off the there. We also had for instance the happened recently. They had an anime coming out and they got basically
[01:43] silenced where they wanted to completely stop being a manga author entirely because of the amount of harassment that they received and it was over people not reality because within the manga there was just a scene that was basically
[01:57] between a teacher and student briefly and there was nothing really going on, but obviously people just went completely bonkers about it, a fictional scene, and just legit lost their [ __ ] and started harassing the author to the
[02:10] and started harassing the author to the point that they bent the knee. Then now we have the recent situation with Nippon Sengoku where they um have been ran off completely blunt, I don't know anything about Nippon Sengoku. I I've never read
[02:25] apparently has an anime. I don't know, okay? All I know is is apparently it's it. That's all I really know about it. But the point though is is regardless if going to be upset about this because this is completely unacceptable
[02:41] unacceptable to do to an author over fictional work. And you want to know what caused this, why this happened to begin with? It was because yaoi shippers. I'm not even [ __ ] you. That that's legit
[02:55] what happened. Yaoi shippers are what caused this. This the problem here is is that the apparently, from what I can gather, the
[03:09] series was war like a in the warring era of Japan, the typical tropes and themes, and characters were married. They basically were straight characters, but you had a lot of psychos that basically were like, "Oh, your characters are gay.
[03:22] obviously gay." And so they start drawing a lot of fan art of the trying to shove it down the author's throat that the characters have to be Eventually, if the author doesn't want to see it, they don't care about it or
[03:35] homophobic. And eventually, they're going to be called racist. And Nazi. You get the point. This is the type of language that happens over and over again. This legitimately is so [ __ ] infuriating how often this
[03:49] happens and how many people continue to do this to authors. Like, you did not see this [ __ ] pre-2020. This was not something you saw. Yes, there was still psychos. I'm not going to act like there wasn't. Tite Kubo had to face a lot.
[04:02] But, the point here is is that it was not to this extreme level where you have so many rabid individuals just trying to run authors off the internet. Like, you literally have an individual here like right in the comments commenting on
[04:16] this, "Manga authors are a bunch of snowflakes." And [ __ ] deleted his account because he was upset by yaoi fan art.
[04:28] statement. That's insane. Like, so insane. Like, I feel so bad for this author. They basically had this author quit. They had this author quit because of harassment.
[04:42] of harassment. >> [sighs and gasps] isn't going to be the last time. This is going to happen again. FYI. Like, we're we're going to see this happen again because people
[04:54] There's so many mentally ill people. There really is. And Like, legitimately just locked away because they are a danger not just to society. And it's clear. Like, we have a mental health crisis that needs to be
[05:09] settled because this is just ridiculous. There is just too many violent people and honestly, that's just it's a certain side monopoly on certain violence. I'm just going to say.
