The Bird Persona Mystery
60sExplaining the origin of the bird costume persona and its tribute to artist friends is a quirky, behind-the-scenes reveal that fans love.
▶ Play ClipThe video is a live stream of the final moments of a Cars and Bids auction for a Toyota 4Runner that served as the camera car for the Regular Car Reviews YouTube channel. The host, Mr. Regular, interacts with viewers across multiple platforms, shares personal stories about his car history, and provides real-time commentary as the auction concludes.
The host tests audio and video, switching between cameras and microphones to ensure proper setup.
The auction for the 4Runner is scheduled to end in 34 minutes, and the host shares the link and promotes the stream on social media.
The host discusses his upcoming motorcycle review of a 1991 Honda CB750 cafe racer and shares his history with motorcycles.
The host explains that his bird persona, Remote, is a tribute to friends who are also bird characters, and that he sees it as a role, not an emotional attachment.
The host provides instructions for submitting a car for review: DM on Instagram or email [email protected].
The host goes live on Instagram, filming the monitor to show the auction countdown, and encourages viewers to join the YouTube chat.
The host discusses the 4Runner's history: bought in 2021 at the height of the pandemic with 75,000 miles, used as a camera car with a rolling rear window for filming.
The host explains that the DJI Osmo 3 Pocket made the 4Runner obsolete as a camera car because it can be mounted outside the car, allowing the operator to stay inside.
The auction ends with a winning bid of $13,600 from user 'Mild Chart'. The host reveals he paid $16,000, taking a $3,000 loss, but considers it worth it for the content produced.
The host plans to use the auction proceeds to pay down his mortgage and mentions upcoming videos: a cafe racer review and a Ford KA imported from the UK.

45:43[02:35] test two. Test two audio. Test two.
[02:39] Anything. Test two. Test two audio. Test
[02:45] two. Test two audio. Test two. Test to
[02:50] audio. Yes, sound. Yes, sound.
[02:53] Interesting. So, you have

[03:02] you? Do you see me? Am I in the picture?
[03:06] Am I in the
[03:10] picture? No. Well, that's
[03:13] that's So, you see the bird, but you
[03:15] don't see me. So, what it's seeing is
[03:17] the previous stream. This is this is
[03:20] really
[03:24] bizarre.
[03:29] Okay. Why don't you see the video? That
[03:32] is
[03:33] interesting. Camera or audio. Make a
[03:36] choice. This is interesting. All
[03:42] right. All
[03:49] right. Changing it to my camera.
[03:51] Changing it to my camera. Do you see my
[03:54] camera? Do you see my camera? Do you see
[03:59] the camera? Do you see the
[04:02] camera? Do you see? We see you and hear
[04:04] you. Okay, now we're going to switch to
[04:06] the studio camera. Switching to studio
[04:08] camera now.
[04:12] You see me here? Do you see my hand? Do
[04:16] you see my hand? Do you see my hand? Do
[04:19] you see my hand?
[04:22] Hand. Hand. Hand. Hand. Do you see hand?
[04:27] Do you see hand? Do you see hand? Five
[04:31] fingers. Good. That's the answer. Okay.
[04:33] Good. All right.
[04:41] Testing the mic. Do you hear my voice in
[04:44] the mic? Do you hear my voice in the
[04:47] mic? Do you hear my voice in the mic? Do
[04:50] you hear my voice in the mic? Do you
[04:53] hear my voice in the mic? Beepus beepus
[04:56] beepus beepus beepus. Hyper beepus
[05:00] inflating hyper gigantic balls. Gigantic
[05:03] balls. You hear me by 5 by five. Yes,
[05:06] you hear the voice too damn internally.
[05:08] I hear your voice in my Dan Arnets.
[05:12] Good.
[05:16] Okay. Thank you so much for joining me
[05:18] for the final moments of regular car
[05:21] reviews. Um the final moments of my
[05:24] Toyota 4Erunner
[05:25] auction. Uh the auction
[05:30] is scheduled to end in 34 minutes.
[05:36] So if I'm smart, I
[05:43] will I
[05:46] will tell people that it's ending and I
[05:49] will also share this live
[05:52] stream
[05:53] to social media accounts because that's
[05:57] the name of the game. Thank you to
[05:58] everybody who's joining us today on this
[06:00] Friday.
[06:02] And
[06:04] now I need to go to what's the mileage?
[06:08] The mileage is
[06:10] 93,800 miles. And uh there should be a
[06:14] link to this auction uh in the
[06:16] description of this video. And if not,
[06:17] you can go to cars and bids on your own.
[06:19] Oh, quick silver main, thank you so much
[06:21] for the donation. Says $2 for the brown
[06:23] gods. I appreciate that.
[06:25] Yeah. And I am trying to go to my
[06:30] channel. There it
[06:32] is. And I need to share this. There it
[06:37] is. Copying the
[06:40] link. Going to all the social media.
[06:44] It's this castanza. Hello.
[06:50] Uh,
[06:52] join
[06:54] me live for the end of
[07:02] my
[07:06] 4Runner
[07:08] auction and paste. There it
[07:12] is. And then if I'm
[07:15] smart, select it all. Copy it. Post. And
[07:19] we'll do that again
[07:22] for Twitter and Instagram. Although
[07:24] probably with Instagram maybe we'll just
[07:26] use a live video with that or excuse me,
[07:28] Tik Tok. Best of luck, Mr. Regular. Do
[07:29] you ever plan on doing another
[07:31] motorcycle review? Yes. In fact, I'm
[07:33] finishing it today. Uh the video that's
[07:36] going to come out on Monday is a
[07:39] motorcycle. We're returning to
[07:40] motorcycles. The motorcycle in question
[07:42] is a
[07:44] 1991 Honda
[07:47] CB750 that has been turned into a cafe
[07:51] racer. I have wanted a cafe racer since
[07:54] I started riding motorcycles. And I talk
[07:56] about a little bit about this in the
[07:59] video. Um, I started riding motorcycles
[08:02] in 19
[08:03] No, well, okay. My very first bike was a
[08:06] little scooter that I bought against my
[08:08] parents wishes with no title. It was a
[08:10] Yamaha Champ, I think it was also called
[08:12] the
[08:16] Chappie. And it that was back in the
[08:21] year
[08:22] 2000. And then in 2007, I bought my very
[08:26] first motorcycle, also against my
[08:27] parents wishes, but I wasn't living at
[08:29] home at the time. So that was a Honda
[08:31] CM250C. And around that time is when
[08:33] Cafe Racers started coming out. and uh
[08:36] were sort of the silver age of cafe
[08:38] racers especially in the United States
[08:40] and Canada and I really wanted one back
[08:43] then but then they were so cool and I
[08:45] think now we're in the bronze age in
[08:47] 2025 of cafe racers where they're no
[08:49] longer hip and they're returning to a
[08:53] style of like dirty street racers which
[08:55] I love because that was the original
[08:57] intent of a cafe racer. It was a
[08:59] standard or a cruiser that was turned
[09:00] into a race bike and they were nasty
[09:03] machines. So, the cafe racers that we
[09:06] have now are more in tune to what they
[09:08] originally were, a cheap way to go fast.
[09:12] And that's what I have uh down on my
[09:14] back porch right now. It's red and white
[09:16] with the checkerboard pattern on it with
[09:18] dropped bars and the race seat. Oh, it's
[09:22] fantastic. I'm in I'm in riding it
[09:24] almost every day when the weather's
[09:26] good. Uh Val Cat says, "Any plans for
[09:29] another meetup and car show?" Probably
[09:31] at Fidelia. Yeah.
[09:35] We've gotten too big for um too many
[09:38] games, so there won't be a car meet
[09:40] there, but uh there will be uh something
[09:44] at
[09:45] Philadelphia. Um
[09:49] uh buy my Jeep. When's the VFR review?
[09:52] Oh, I'd love to get my hands on a VFR.
[09:54] Um
[09:56] uh the Lion King says, "Bring it out."
[09:58] Not sure what that means. It's all about
[09:59] the adventure bikes. Yeah, I I see a lot
[10:01] of people with money still doing the BMW
[10:03] thing. Triumph also has one as well. Is
[10:06] that the Triumph Tiger? Uh Eric Bernard
[10:08] says, "Where is PA? Are you? I'm located
[10:11] in Sailorsburg." I'm in the Philly
[10:12] suburbs now. So that's where I am. Oh,
[10:17] and I need to go
[10:19] [Music]
[10:21] to
[10:22] [Music]
[10:23] Twitter X. Uh Matt, thank you for the
[10:27] donation. Says, "Are you the big lot?"
[10:29] No, I'm not the big lot. I'm not. I did
[10:32] talk to him on the phone one time. Great
[10:33] guy. If not, then they're heavily
[10:34] influenced by you. Yeah. Had to lay down
[10:37] from the clipins. I love that
[10:42] guy. Posting on
[10:52] X. Um, you're in the portaotti at the
[10:55] north end of campus. Yep. Andy says,
[10:58] "Did you ever get to choose? Did you get
[11:00] to choose your persona and how long how
[11:02] did it end up being a bird?" So, remote
[11:04] here
[11:06] is a tribute to the people who got me uh
[11:10] back into the fandom after a long ways
[11:14] who uh whose characters are also birds.
[11:17] It's uh my friend uh who's an artist
[11:20] named Pulsar who also designed the RCR
[11:22] logo you see here.
[11:25] And uh another content creator, Adler
[11:29] the Eagle. You may know him.
[11:32] And who was the
[11:35] third? Who was the third person who also
[11:37] had
[11:38] [Music]
[11:41] a Maybe it was just those two. There had
[11:45] to be a
[11:47] third. Can't remember.
[11:52] Anyway, so I made a bird uh costume
[11:56] that's sort of a
[11:59] uh a tribute to them. I have no
[12:03] emotional attachment to Remote as a
[12:05] character. I see him simply as a as some
[12:08] people are very attached to to their uh
[12:10] personas that they make, but to me it's
[12:12] just a role that I play. Um uh remote is
[12:16] finance bird or uh
[12:20] um since since it's a blank character uh
[12:23] you can dress him up any way you like
[12:25] and sort of change his look. Um dang,
[12:27] I'm friends with Pulsar. You know his
[12:29] stuff. Yeah, he's a great guy. Also big
[12:31] into
[12:32] motorcycles. His bikes have been on RCR
[12:34] before.
[12:39] Um, uh, drove through Pennsylvania for
[12:41] the first time recently. Was suddenly
[12:43] very obvious and amazing how it would
[12:45] be, uh, uh, it would be like to drive a
[12:47] Miata. Yeah, a Miata in rural
[12:48] Pennsylvania is fantastic. How do we
[12:50] submit for a regular review? I have a
[12:52] you have a Lucid Air. Holy [ __ ] You
[12:54] live in Delaware, uh, but from Bucks
[12:56] County? Yeah. Uh, send me a DM just on
[12:58] on Instagram is honestly the best way.
[13:01] Send me a DM on Instagram. Regular car
[13:02] reviews on Instagram. And if you don't
[13:04] have Instagram, uh, just
[13:06] [email protected]. Send me an email
[13:08] that way because we never I I see Lucid
[13:10] Airs. They're super weird. They're big.
[13:13] They're big. I like them from a
[13:15] distance, but I'd love to get my hands
[13:16] on
[13:18] one. Chris, if you're able, like, please
[13:21] do that now. We'll we'll talk after this
[13:23] auction or hopefully we'll talk at the
[13:25] end. So, we have 20 minutes 27 minutes
[13:27] left on the on this auction. Most
[13:29] everything happens in the last 10. Um,
[13:32] but I'm eager to see what this thing's
[13:34] going to go for. Right now it's at uh
[13:38] $13,000. Uh, Christopher says, "You're
[13:40] doing it now." Thank
[13:42] you. I should go to
[13:45] Instagram and do a live on
[13:48] Instagram. I also need power for this
[13:52] phone, which should be part of the
[13:54] Instagram
[13:57] thing.
[14:00] Live. And there it
[14:09] is. Yeah, I'm literally filming. I'm
[14:11] literally filming the monitor here. Has
[14:15] RCR ever done a Euro van? Uh, how was
[14:17] hanging out with Gus Johnson? Gus
[14:20] Johnson? I hung out with Gus
[14:22] Johnson.
[14:23] Um, so hello to everybody on Instagram.
[14:27] I'm literally filming the screen. We are
[14:30] filming the final uh moments of Cars and
[14:33] Bids auction right here. So, you can
[14:36] join us on our main channel on YouTube.
[14:38] Everybody in the chat, say hello. Say
[14:40] hello to Instagram. I'm filming you
[14:42] guys. I'm filming the chat right now for
[14:44] Instagram. Everybody get in here. Uh if
[14:47] you're looking for something to keep you
[14:48] busy for the
[14:50] next 25 minutes,
[14:53] uh we're filming the end of the auction
[14:56] for RCR's camera car or former camera
[15:00] car. Uh it is ending with no reserves.
[15:02] Someone in the next half hour is going
[15:04] to win my car. Going to win the auction
[15:07] for the car. What's up with the guy who
[15:09] sold you the What's up? Is this the guy
[15:11] that sold you to Honda today? Uh I don't
[15:13] know. No. Oh, what's up? This is the guy
[15:16] who sold you the Honda today. Hi, crazy
[15:18] kid Ed. I remember I still have that
[15:21] car. Oh, wait. So, you're watching this
[15:23] guy that sold you the Honda today.
[15:24] You're literally in this. So, okay. I
[15:26] have to go get my charger anyway. You
[15:29] want to see where your old car is?
[16:02] I apologize to those
[16:29] YouTube happy.
[16:41] Now back into the podcast studio living
[16:44] room slash set
[16:47] really. Okay, we're back.
[16:50] So, everybody on Instagram, you're going
[16:53] to want to go to the YouTube channel,
[16:55] Regular Car Reviews on YouTube or
[16:56] Regular Cars on YouTube, and uh join the
[16:59] chat here because we're live streaming
[17:02] the end of my
[17:05] auction
[17:07] for my former camera car. Matt says,
[17:10] "Have you ever worked with Zack, Job, or
[17:13] Jeremiah Burton?" I apologize. I don't
[17:15] know who those people are, so I don't
[17:18] think so.
[17:21] All right, my phone's on the battery,
[17:22] which is nice. Champagne of beers, yep,
[17:24] is left over from my party.
[17:27] So, a nice uh cheerful beverage for this
[17:31] afternoon. Cheers to you guys. All
[17:33] right. Um, everybody on Instagram,
[17:37] you're going to want to head to my
[17:39] YouTube channel and join the chat there
[17:42] because I'm closing it. Uh, you remember
[17:44] the Red Falcon auction? Yeah, my old
[17:46] Falcon. That Frankenstein car.
[17:50] Okay, I am closing this. See you in the
[17:54] main channel, guys. Everybody from
[17:55] Instagram, go to my YouTube channel.
[17:57] That's where this is going on.
[18:07] Bye. I got
[18:14] a my YouTube
[18:18] channel to see the end of
[18:22] the
[18:29] [Music]
[18:32] auction. Share. Okay. Uh, didn't RCR
[18:36] review a
[18:38] lot? Did we do a lot? We did a Yugo and
[18:41] we did What did we do in Seattle? We did
[18:44] something.
[18:46] Am I like overexposed? I feel like I'm
[18:49] overexposed.
[19:19] there. Think the light I I need like
[19:21] it's weird like I have lighting there. I
[19:23] think I need like another studio light
[19:24] like right
[19:25] here. Uh when is RCR coming to Namibia?
[19:29] I don't know, man.
[19:31] Um, will RCR re review my sourdough?
[19:35] Like sourdough
[19:37] bread? Uh, Angry Shoe Box says,
[19:40] "Forrunner looks great. No peeling, no
[19:41] clear coat, no brake dust. Wheels
[19:43] usually see." Yeah. Well, thank you.
[19:45] That makes me feel happy. Current bid is
[19:47] still
[19:51] $13,000. That eagle is the most unique
[19:53] persona I've ever seen. I think you need
[19:55] an AMC.
[19:56] Oh, like that'd be funny. Just to get
[20:00] like an AMC tank top and wear it over
[20:02] it. You could do
[20:03] that. Um, if people would get that, you
[20:07] know, some people would probably see the
[20:08] AMC logo and they're like, "What? AMC
[20:11] theaters." Mike Maverick says, "I'm a
[20:13] bird and I want you to drive a reliable
[20:15] car, not a Dodge Nitro." Yeah. GH. Um,
[20:19] Matt says, "You have a following in
[20:21] Bangladesh." Funny enough. Really?
[20:23] Bangladesh? I'm flattered to hear that.
[20:26] Anyway, Darn says, "Third gen, best
[20:29] gen." Of course, it is. 19 minutes to
[20:32] go. People are hanging back on this
[20:34] auction. Uh, no one in the last uh
[20:37] moments are actually bidding on it, but
[20:40] you know, it all comes all comes down to
[20:42] the last 10
[20:43] minutes. How much would you hope to get
[20:46] out of the 4ERunner? I'd hope to get my
[20:48] money back, but again, I bought this
[20:50] car. I'll tell you how much I bought it
[20:52] for after the auction close.
[20:55] But I bought that a I bought the car in
[20:59] 2021, which is at the height of the
[21:01] pandemic, at the height of the over um
[21:04] the overpriceness of uh of used
[21:09] cars. But when I needed a new camera car
[21:11] and I knew I wanted a 4erunner and I
[21:14] knew I wanted a third gen because it
[21:15] would fit in my garage. And then I saw
[21:18] this one. When I bought it, it had
[21:19] 75,000 miles on it, man. So, it was
[21:22] nice. It was a really nice
[21:25] car. Uh, Proigan Porman says, "Where
[21:28] near Philly did you move?" I'm in
[21:30] southern Montgomery
[21:31] County. I'm not going to tell you my
[21:35] town but
[21:39] um, who and yeah, he hide the pandemic
[21:42] and Overlanding. Yeah, it it was it was
[21:44] a lot. We'll see how close it gets to
[21:47] that. And if and if it surpasses it,
[21:49] hey, fantastic. And if not, well, the
[21:51] truck the truck or SUV, whatever you
[21:53] want to call it, it made its
[21:54] money and uh I just don't drive it
[21:57] anymore. So, regulars should come to
[22:00] Northern Europe and drive some of the
[22:02] 90s runabouts that we have lying around
[22:03] here. Old Audi's, Astros, Vectors, old
[22:05] pat, old Ford Galaxies. Yeah, the Ford
[22:08] Galaxy minivan. I remember seeing like
[22:10] one or two of them in the
[22:14] UK. Which countries don't have a car
[22:16] culture? It's a good question. I mean,
[22:19] people like cars
[22:22] everywhere. Oh [ __ ] Amler cars and
[22:25] coffee has to be damn near home for you.
[22:27] Amler, little Amler has cars and coffee.
[22:29] I recognize Amler from uh the
[22:32] landline. When I say landline, I don't
[22:34] mean internet. That is the Lansdale
[22:36] Doorstown line that I take into the
[22:38] city. And by city, I mean
[22:41] Philly. What? Uh something something.
[22:44] For a couple grand more, you could
[22:46] almost get a new Hilux Champ with a a
[22:48] street food kitchen.
[22:50] Nice. Amler cars show was in May. Ah,
[22:54] okay.
[22:58] Uh oh, Mat with a uh super chat. Thank
[23:01] you so much. You should go to Katie's
[23:03] Cars and Coffee near DC. I've been to
[23:04] Katie's Cars and Coffee uh in before
[23:07] times. Uh I liked it. lot of lot of
[23:10] pricey stuff there and uh a lot of
[23:12] people. The thing I remember most about
[23:15] Katie's Cars and Coffee was there was
[23:18] this one guy making content. He was
[23:20] filming. He was using his
[23:22] phone. No, wait. I'm thinking of
[23:25] something else, but it's still Katie's
[23:26] Cars and Coffee. Um, at K's Cars and
[23:28] Coffee, someone wrote rode up there with
[23:31] a Ferrari F40
[23:34] EO and there was like a line of people
[23:39] waiting to pose and do this in front of
[23:42] it.
[23:47] Gosh, I remember someone posting a
[23:49] picture at the New York Auto Show next
[23:52] to a
[23:53] Rolls-Royce, but they were just there
[23:55] with their phone and poof, this bottle
[23:58] is a champagne flute. They got a
[23:59] champagne flute and just posted a
[24:02] picture of the champagne flute in front
[24:04] of the the flying lady on the
[24:06] Rolls-Royce. And I'm like, I'll bet you
[24:10] have I'll bet you're so not funny. I'll
[24:13] bet you're a boring guy at every party
[24:15] if you're gonna do
[24:16] that.
[24:19] Um, 80s and Morris says, "Hello from
[24:21] Athens Greece."
[24:24] Hello. Uh, can agree on overpaying for
[24:26] pretty much uh historic
[24:29] cars.
[24:30] Um, I bought two, one in 2021, one in
[24:33] 22. 10,000 for each dealership. At least
[24:36] there was a Crown Vic and a Sienna. Both
[24:38] around 70,000 miles. Cool.
[24:41] Uh, Ivan Ivan 2 says, "I grew up in
[24:43] rougher areas of the United States, but
[24:45] whenever I see fancy vehicles, it just
[24:47] seems like an invitation to get
[24:48] carjacked. When you drive nice vehicles,
[24:50] do you worry about the attention they
[24:53] attract?" I've never had nice nice cars,
[24:57] like really aspirational
[25:01] vehicles. Maybe my crazy
[25:05] taxi. I mean, the most expensive vehicle
[25:08] I own is my Kia, but that's just because
[25:10] I bought it new. So, and that's just a
[25:13] Kia.
[25:16] So, and the flashiest thing I ever
[25:19] had, the flashiest thing I have is
[25:22] probably Crazy Taxi, but that's not
[25:26] something I mean, it attracts a lot of
[25:28] attention, but it's never really
[25:29] attracted negative attention or or or
[25:31] jealousy.
[25:35] Um, I suppose the most Let me answer
[25:38] this. Super chat says, "Dave, the Primis
[25:40] Plangler freaking rules." You mean the
[25:42] Primly Plymouth Prowler? The Plymouth
[25:46] Prangler. I' How funny would that be if
[25:48] there was a real car called the Prim
[25:50] Plymouth
[25:51] Prangler? Um, what are you currently
[25:54] driving most as of
[25:56] late? Um, my Honda today. I don't drive
[26:01] it every day, but it's such a good car
[26:03] for Philadelphia. It It's I did an
[26:06] airport run in it. Now, I don't drive
[26:08] the Today every day, you know, it's a
[26:10] tongue twister. Prefer that car. Let's
[26:12] just call it the JA4. I don't drive the
[26:14] JA4 every single day, but um I mean, I
[26:18] still drive my Kia all the time. I mean,
[26:20] that's just the daily, you know, you
[26:22] plug in the car and it goes. Um, another
[26:24] super chat. Michael Rosenberg. I was
[26:26] supposed to answer some other question.
[26:27] Uh, Eric Buell is gonna be the host of
[26:29] Honor at Radner Hunt Club in September.
[26:32] Do you ever go to an event like that? I
[26:33] don't really go to car show events
[26:36] because I'm spoiled and I like to drive
[26:41] cars. Standing around them and talking
[26:43] about
[26:49] them. I'm not a big firearm guy, but
[26:53] it's sort of
[26:55] like imagine going to a range and
[26:58] watching other people practice
[27:00] marksmanship, but you just get to sit on
[27:02] the bench and watch with earplugs
[27:06] in. That's what a car show feels like to
[27:08] me.
[27:17] Um, Eric, if a Prangler came up on Cars
[27:19] and Biz, I would buy buy it immediately.
[27:21] Nice. Um, Prowler meets Jeep Wrangler.
[27:24] The all newer. I like
[27:28] that. Um, Honda every other day. Hey
[27:32] there, Birdhead. Yes, Remote is here
[27:35] being a
[27:36] co-host. We are at 12 minutes 47
[27:40] seconds.
[27:41] So far, we did someone uh the new high
[27:45] bidder. It is now at
[27:49] $13,100 with uh 12 minutes 36 seconds
[27:53] left. The firing range cucks share
[27:56] event. Exactly. Yeah.
[28:02] There's always the one little kid at the
[28:04] uh at the at the range trying to hold
[28:08] the uh ear protection that are too big
[28:10] for his ears to the side of his head. He
[28:12] doesn't know why he's here. He can't do
[28:14] anything. He just has to sit there and
[28:16] be
[28:18] good. Uh pro wagon performances. Lots of
[28:21] Pennsylvania is depressing. Not wrong,
[28:23] but there's plenty of good and great car
[28:24] culture. Oh yeah, for sure.
[28:26] Yeah. I mean, the joke is outside
[28:29] outside of the major cities. It's all
[28:31] just
[28:33] uh you know a car show was just a
[28:36] million
[28:38] Corvettes. Andrew Oven says Allentown is
[28:40] my hometown. I would love to move back.
[28:43] Would you
[28:44] know? I'm thinking this a is that my
[28:46] audio levels okay? I feel like it could
[28:49] be a little louder. What do you think? I
[28:51] don't want to have too much audio hiss
[28:53] coming through the ATM, but what do you
[28:55] think? Based on the old cars and bids, I
[28:57] think 13,000 is pretty close to the
[28:59] price these days. Fingers crossed for
[29:00] 15.
[29:02] Yeah.
[29:04] Um, is he going to say how much he paid
[29:07] for it after how little he paid for it
[29:09] after it sells? Uh, I don't think I'm
[29:12] going to do that.
[29:14] Um, audio is lovely. Okay, I'm a little
[29:17] quiet. Okay, let me up this a little
[29:20] bit.
[29:32] There might be a little uh analog
[29:35] hiss. That was three taps on the
[29:39] ATM. Some hiss, but it's fine. Just eat
[29:42] the
[29:44] mic.
[29:46] H. This probably peaks it. This is
[29:49] probably way too much
[29:51] audio. Way too much gain. It's in the
[29:54] red. Yes. Very minimal hiss. That's
[29:58] better. Am I blowing out the mic by
[30:01] doing this? Peak content. Okay.
[30:05] Yeah. Yeah. Too loud. Okay. Down it
[30:19] goes. So there we go. This is pro. Well,
[30:21] this is almost pretty much what we had
[30:22] before.
[30:24] If I peak the Oh, I see. I see what's
[30:27] going on. The ATM is doing its own
[30:30] modulation.
[30:32] Interesting.
[30:35] Okay. Too much
[30:37] again.
[30:38] Yeah. Interesting. Interesting.
[30:41] Interesting. Volume is better.
[30:44] Okay. Em uh Ransom says, "Are you going
[30:47] to regret selling
[30:49] it?" Yep.
[30:53] I'm going to miss the
[30:54] 4Runner. I miss a lot of the cars I've
[30:57] had. I don't
[30:59] miss the
[31:01] Falcon. It
[31:04] was a big headache at the end because it
[31:07] had so many weird parts and when
[31:10] something went wrong, uh, you had to
[31:13] remember what type of part you put in
[31:15] there. I don't really I don't miss it.
[31:18] No, cuz I realized that that car was
[31:21] just too much modification for it to be
[31:23] a fun
[31:26] car. I
[31:28] miss Yeah, I miss my Honda
[31:33] Fit, but that started getting
[31:35] uncomfortable for long
[31:37] trips. I miss
[31:40] my Subaru Forester. That thing was
[31:44] everything. It did everything great
[31:45] except for gas miles, but that thing
[31:47] just sort of rusted
[31:49] away. Uh, I missed my MR2 a lot, but
[31:53] also I didn't drive it because it was
[31:55] too nice. I was afraid of uh getting it
[31:59] banged up and also intimidated
[32:04] by Is the audio synced on
[32:12] this? Are we synced?
[32:14] Or is this not
[32:18] synced? Let me know if this is
[32:21] this I'm watching
[32:24] my levels and I'm not sure if this is
[32:27] it's close enough.
[32:29] Okay. All
[32:37] right. Not very sing. Anyway, now great.
[32:40] Your hair off. Great.
[32:44] Wonderful. Um, off by about a quarter of
[32:47] a second. That's That's a ton. I'm so
[32:50] sorry. Video is slightly ahead, which
[32:52] means audio is lagging
[32:56] behind. So, we have two different
[33:00] sources. We
[33:10] have so the video coming out of the
[33:13] camera. Well, we're going to use
[33:15] different cameras eventually. Maybe
[33:16] that'll fix the sinking problem. I don't
[33:19] know. Uh, what are you going to replace
[33:22] the 4ERunner with?
[33:24] Nothing. No, I'm thinning the herd. I
[33:28] want to get down to two cars. Right now,
[33:30] I have four. I have the 4ERunner.
[33:33] 4Erunner right there. I have my daily,
[33:37] which is the Kia. I have the other
[33:39] daily, which is the which is the Honda
[33:42] today. And then I have the fun car, the
[33:44] crazy taxi, even though the the the
[33:46] Honda today is also the fun car.
[33:49] So, this we use the Kia now as the
[33:52] camera car. So the old camera car that
[33:56] just
[33:57] sits and it's not financially wise to
[34:00] hang on to it.
[34:02] So says do not sell the taxi. No, it's
[34:04] going to be a long time before I sell
[34:08] crazy taxi. That thing's a
[34:10] delight.
[34:14] Um and then the next thing to sell would
[34:17] be the uh Honda today.
[34:23] Um, I like it.
[34:25] It's if I feel like driving somewhere
[34:28] where I know I'm not going to get public
[34:29] charging, then I just drive the Honda
[34:31] today and it's fine. Um,
[34:35] and but eventually I'm not I'm not
[34:38] married to the Honda today because it
[34:40] was just sort of a yeah, I guess
[34:42] purchase. It's it's a lot of fun because
[34:44] I don't really care about the car that
[34:46] much. I just sort of shift it and drive
[34:48] it and I don't dole attention onto it.
[34:51] It's fun.
[34:54] Um, did you solely buy the 4Runner to be
[34:56] a camera car originally? Yes. And the
[34:59] reason it was because it has that
[35:00] rolling rear window that goes back down.
[35:03] And that was the original way we filmed
[35:05] stuff. We ratchet strapped a tripod. In
[35:07] fact, the camera that's filming us right
[35:09] now, the the Canon XA60 was our uh the
[35:13] camera that filmed the show.
[35:18] So,
[35:20] uh, we filmed out the back window down
[35:23] with the back window down. We got some
[35:26] nice depth of field. The one limitation
[35:29] was you couldn't really pull the car up
[35:32] next to the 4Runner. You were sort of
[35:34] limited to where it could because you
[35:36] had to keep the camera's field of view
[35:39] within the back
[35:41] window. And also Nick who operated the
[35:45] camera for the ro roll rolling shots. He
[35:48] had to just live with whatever weather
[35:50] was outside the car and also the wind
[35:53] that would come in. Nick and I couldn't
[35:55] talk to each other even though we were
[35:57] only a few feet away because all the
[35:59] noise that would come
[36:01] in. Once DJI came out with the Osmo 3
[36:04] Pocket, that thing you just vacuum cup
[36:07] to the outside of the car with a mount
[36:09] and that thing films backwards to the
[36:11] side. It tracks. Nick can be inside the
[36:14] car in the cold and he can be inside
[36:16] enjoying air conditioning in the hot.
[36:19] So, a $800 camera did the job of a
[36:23] $13,000
[36:25] SUV. So, why am I holding on to the
[36:29] car? Someone else deserves
[36:31] it. Um, yeah. Andy says, "We're down to
[36:35] the last four minutes. Let's see if
[36:36] there will be a bidding war in the last
[36:38] three." In fact, I should
[36:41] uh get on Tik Tok and tell people we're
[36:44] doing this
[36:53] here. Jake says, "Do you think that the
[36:56] mention that a car was reviewed and
[36:57] owned by RCR has a noticeable effect on
[37:00] cars and brid's auction price?"
[37:04] If it's I think so because if it's
[37:07] enough that the people at Cars and Bids
[37:11] will mention
[37:12] that it has it's it's a nonzero
[37:17] percentage and I think
[37:19] uh I think that's fair to say. I think
[37:22] it's making a difference in a positive
[37:24] way, but we don't know uh how much
[38:01] Okay, we're uh telling Tik Tok to get in
[38:05] here. Will you review some Jaguar XJS
[38:08] like the 1994 1998 X3? I think we did
[38:12] like a million years ago.
[38:15] Ian says, "Once the car is sold, will
[38:16] you tell much how much you originally
[38:18] bought it for?" Yes, I
[38:21] will. So, we're I'm filming Tik Tok now.
[38:25] So, Tik Tok, you um I'm just filming the
[38:28] chat. So, so the chat itself is live on
[38:30] Tik Tok. Um when this is over, find the
[38:34] best uh car for that amount on cars and
[38:36] bids. Well, I'm being responsible with
[38:39] the money that this auction uh will
[38:41] bring. It's all going to get thrown at
[38:43] the principle of my mortgage because
[38:44] that's a responsible thing to
[38:47] do. Hello Tik Tok. Yes, hello Tik Tok. A
[38:51] bunch of people are joining on Tik Tok.
[38:54] Um, take a brown says Castanza. What you
[38:57] mean? Literally film myself going to the
[39:00] bathroom. Um, I have been driving a
[39:03] third gen for 20 years and it's going
[39:05] strong. Thank you, Thomas. Yeah. Oh, we
[39:08] got a new bid. It is now
[39:11] $13,200. Hello to everybody uh joining
[39:14] on Tik Tok. Uh you are watching the end
[39:17] of the Cars and Bids auction uh for
[39:20] RCR's former camera car. If you want to
[39:23] join uh the chat uh that is on our
[39:26] YouTube channel uh um Oh [ __ ] we're
[39:31] down. We're getting down to the last
[39:32] moment. Does it hit 14,000? It is. We
[39:36] are down to the last minute.
[39:39] $13,200.
[39:40] $13,200. Come on. Someone else wants it.
[39:43] You know you're gonna
[39:46] $13,300. What's another $100 for a car
[39:49] that's going to appreciate this? You
[39:51] know you want this car, man. You know,
[39:54] whoever is it? Come on. 13,200. Are you
[39:58] going to let this go? Are you going to
[39:59] really let this thing go for under
[40:02] 14,000? Something you know you can flip
[40:05] for 15? It's going. It's going. It's
[40:08] gone. It's gone. It's 10 15 14 13 12.
[40:15] It's going to be gone. It's going to be
[40:16] gone forever. 10 9 8 Oh,
[40:22] $13,400. Someone knows a good
[40:25] deal. Okay. But that's still a bargain.
[40:29] You know that's still a bargain. You
[40:31] know that's still a
[40:33] bargain. All right, guys. on Tik Tok.
[40:36] You're going to have to join this last
[40:37] minute. I can't hold this camera
[40:38] forever.
[40:40] $13,400. I know you're thinking about
[40:42] it. You know, you can go to 135. I need
[40:45] to see 135 because you are going to kick
[40:48] yourself knowing that you just missed
[40:50] out on a 4erunner for
[40:53] $13,400. Really? All right, Tik Tok. I
[40:56] got to get rid of you guys. This is it.
[40:59] We're getting down to the last 10
[41:02] seconds. This is it. 14 13 It's going.
[41:05] It's going. This thing's going to go. 10
[41:08] 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 There it is.
[41:17] 13,000.
[41:19] 13,500. We know we're serious now.
[41:22] $13,600. Come on. You get to think about
[41:25] this. I know you're thinking about this
[41:26] for the last
[41:28] minute. I'm trying to get cars and bids
[41:30] on this phone. Cars and
[41:33] bids. Yeah, cars and bids. I gota I
[41:36] gotta I gotta call out the people who
[41:39] are actually
[41:40] bidding. Come on. There it
[41:43] is. All right, bids. Who are you? Who's
[41:46] the high bidder? High bidder. I have to
[41:49] see
[41:52] it. All right, there's 25 bids on
[41:57] this. 25 bids on this. Who's my high
[41:59] bidder?
[42:02] Who is the high bidder? It's Mild Chart.
[42:05] Gle01. Come on, Gleen01. Are you gonna
[42:08] get a Are you going to get outdone by a
[42:10] guy with a name like Chart? Come on.
[42:13] You're going to lose Glemo to a guy
[42:16] named Chart. You're not going to let
[42:18] that happen, are you? You know you're
[42:20] better than him. You want this? Glemo.
[42:23] Gimmo. Gleno. Gleno. Shart's going to
[42:26] win it. Is the guy who's going to win
[42:28] this literally called
[42:31] Chart? There it is. It's checking
[42:33] checking for last bids. A guy
[42:35] named A guy named Mild Chart just won my
[42:40] 4Erunner. Mild Chart. Well, that's
[42:43] appropriate, isn't it? Mild
[42:46] Chart.
[42:48] Okay. Well, it looks like I get to call
[42:50] a guy named Mild Chart. Shart for the
[42:54] win. Yep. Yeah. I hope it's not a joke
[42:57] account. Well, what happens is if
[43:00] someone welches on the
[43:03] auction, their credit card still gets
[43:05] pinged for the uh uh winning fee. So,
[43:11] it's they're not going to get pinged for
[43:12] like
[43:14] 13,0006. Uh they're going to get pinged
[43:16] for whatever percentage
[43:19] uh uh Cars and Bids takes. So, let's go
[43:22] mild chart. You have to call with him in
[43:25] the Mr. a regular voice. Yes, that's the
[43:26] next thing. Uh I will be getting an
[43:28] email
[43:30] uh with the information from Mild Chart
[43:33] and
[43:34] uh that's funny. Uh I will get an email
[43:38] from a guy named uh I will get to have a
[43:41] phone call with him. Whether I live
[43:43] stream that
[43:45] uh I don't know. So, I'm going to check
[43:47] my email right now and see if
[43:53] uh and see
[43:57] if we will send you the next steps to
[44:00] completing your sale shortly via email.
[44:02] Please let us know if you have Okay, so
[44:04] I don't have his uh his info right about
[44:07] now. Andy says, "Are you going to
[44:09] disclose the price now or after?" I
[44:11] will. I paid $16,000 for that. So, I am
[44:15] taking a loss of
[44:18] $3,000. So, I took a loss on it, but
[44:21] again, I bought this car at the height
[44:22] of the pandemic in 2021.
[44:25] So, I wasn't really expecting to make my
[44:29] money back, but you know, that's that
[44:31] car has produced more than $3,000 worth
[44:34] of content for me, so it's
[44:37] fair.
[44:39] Yep. Yeah. Ask him if he found this
[44:42] because of my YouTube channel.
[44:44] Yeah, 3,000 after five years of
[44:46] ownership. Not too
[44:50] bad. Brent R. State says, "I paid 16,000
[44:53] for mine as well."
[44:56] Yep. The reason I paid 16,000 is because
[44:59] that was the asking price at the little
[45:01] car dealership where I originally found
[45:02] this thing and I didn't feel like
[45:05] negotiating with him because I knew what
[45:06] it was and I knew I wanted it. And yeah,
[45:10] Steuart show says a $5,000 pre-
[45:12] pandemic. Don't you know that? Yep. How
[45:14] many miles did I put on it? Uh, what?
[45:18] 75
[45:21] 75 8 75
[45:25] 8593. So, I put
[45:27] on like 1,00 like I put on like 13,000
[45:31] miles in four
[45:34] years. It's the Castanza says, "Yeah,
[45:37] you're OG. You remember the Red Falcon
[45:38] on this channel?" Yep. the Vagabond
[45:41] Falcon. Money goes, but memories stay. I
[45:43] said it was worth it. Yep. All right.
[45:46] All right. That's our live stream. Thank
[45:48] you for watching. I'm going to go back
[45:51] to work and uh finish editing
[45:55] the Cafe Racer video because that needs
[45:58] to get done. and then possibly tomorrow
[46:02] uh record my narrative
[46:06] uh for the next the video after next
[46:08] which is we we got our hands on a Ford K
[46:11] or Ford CA the Ford KA someone imported
[46:15] one of those from the UK into the United
[46:17] States and we got to drive one because
[46:19] we missed it when we were in the UK we
[46:21] didn't get to get one like we did like
[46:24] and people were like yelling us when we
[46:25] did the UK trip like how could you come
[46:27] to the UK and not do a Ford car
[46:28] everybody remembers those things
[46:29] Everybody's driven on them like no one
[46:31] offered one. So, or maybe someone did or
[46:34] we couldn't fit it into our schedule,
[46:35] but now we got one and it's even fun
[46:37] funner to drive one in the United
[46:39] States. All right, guys. Have a great
[46:41] day. Thank you for watching. Thanks for
[46:42] liking RCR. Bye.
