This video presents a comprehensive Mythic+ DPS tier list for World of Warcraft's Midnight patch, analyzing the current meta and ranking each specialization from S-tier to D-tier. The creators discuss the surprising rise of specs like Arms Warrior and Feral Druid, the fall of previously dominant ones like Balance Druid and Devastation Evoker, and highlight the importance of group synergy and utility in high-end keys.
The Mythic+ DPS meta has shifted significantly since the last tier list, making it a great time to play DPS. Affliction Warlock received buffs but still isn't top-tier, though it's climbing into higher keys.
Arms Warrior is one of the biggest surprises, climbing from a meme spec to near S-tier. It's ranked as top A-tier, just below S, and is performing exceptionally well in high keys.
Assassination Rogue is A-tier, but the definition of A-tier is explained: it's based on top 10 players over 4K IO, with performance not equal across the board. Outlaw is the best rogue spec, carrying the class.
Augmentation Evoker is doing well, providing significant group utility like dispelling bleeds and curses, and a max AoE soothe. Its value isn't always visible in damage logs but is crucial for high keys.
Balance Druid has fallen to B-tier, losing its AoE identity to specs like Devourer and Unholy. It's not bad, but no longer the king of AoE.
Arcane Mage is in C/D tier, missing crucial tuning and being the squishiest mage spec. Defensives become a real problem past +17 keys.
Beast Mastery Hunter has climbed rankings, being simplified and more consistent. It's a good Bloodlust provider, though not the top choice.
Demonology is the breakpoint of A-tier, but it's losing a bit on AoE and is surprisingly squishy. Its 3-minute cooldown and weak defensives are issues.
Destruction has fallen off due to the removal of Inferno, losing its AoE scaling niche. It's now inferior to Affliction and Demonology, and Frost Mage does its job better.
Fire Mage is similar to Destruction, played only by one-tricks. Even perfect play barely scratches top DPS needed for highest keys, and it lost its niche.
Frost Mage is A-tier, a notch behind Demonology. It excels in single-target and 2-3 target cleave, but struggles with defensiveness and capped AoE in big pulls.
Marksmanship is C-tier, carried by skilled hunters off-speccing. The best hunters funnel skill into Beast Mastery, leaving Marksmanship inflated by less skilled players.
Outlaw is the best rogue spec, carrying the class. It's AoE capped but has good defensiveness and consistent physical damage, often paired with Arms in top keys.
Survival is close to the caster meta, interchangeable with Demonology. It's solid but doesn't bring unique utility, and physical damage can be sourced elsewhere.
Devastation was S-tier at the start but got nerfed into the ground. It's now B-tier, squishy, and its utility is better provided by Augmentation.
Devourer (VDH) is 'absolutely cracked', having everything without sacrificing AoE or single target. It's likely to be nerfed in Season 2.
Elemental has the highest burst in the game during Ascendance, but it's on a 3-minute cooldown. It's S-tier at the top of A, and brings the Mastery buff which is strong.
Enhancement is top of B-tier, close to A. It suffers from squishiness but has good defensive tools like Astral Shift and magic damage reduction from interrupts.
Feral has finally overtaken Balance, being insane in AoE and fitting well into physical comps. It brings Mark of the Wild and synergizes with Arms and Outlaw.
Frost DK has climbed from F/D tier to B-tier. It has good utility like AMZ, but its damage is lower than Unholy's.
Fury has dipped to bottom of A-tier, outclassed by Arms. It has decent single target but is AoE capped, and its niche isn't exploitable.
Havoc is B-tier, with upfront burst on a 2-minute cooldown. It's not bad but is outclassed by other specs and suffers as a melee in a dodge-heavy season.
Ret Paladin is A-tier, benefiting from Shaman mastery buff. Its utility kit (Blessing of Protection, Freedom) is crucial this season, and it's tanky.
Shadow Priest is A-tier, the only priest spec that keeps up. It brings Power Infusion and has good spread cleave, but its damage profile depends on Psychic Link tuning.
Subtlety is A-tier, with reliable burst more often than Elemental. It deals shadow damage, so it doesn't fit perfectly into physical comps, but it's not bad.
Unholy is the last king of the tier, still crushing it despite nerfs. It's fun with Circle of Death and Death and Decay providing cooldown reduction.
Windwalker is still in the shadow, but got a buff to Zenith stomp. It's climbing but hard to justify bringing when other monk specs are better.
The Mythic+ DPS meta is diverse and fun, with several surprising risers and falls. While some specs like Unholy and Devourer dominate, the overall meta offers many viable options, making it a great time to play DPS.

33:12[00:06] Dude, we haven't seen this much of a shift in the mythic plus DPS meta, I think since we've started doing tier list. And once again, things have months since the last time we visited this. So, what is actually cooking right
[00:21] now? And is this the best time to play mythic plus as a DPS? It is. It is. It is very fun. Please do. Starting off with affliction that has received buffs a couple weeks ago. Not enough to bump it up, but we will put it up here
[00:36] because it is starting to do higher and higher keys. It's starting to get into higher keys. It's starting to get into those 20s, 21s depending cuz most of the high ranking affliction warlocks are just demonology warlocks that have been
[00:49] allowed to spec swap to affliction. It's definitely not enough to keep up with Definitely not with a lot of other specs as well. But, it is a really good situation to look at a tier list and not see demonology at the bottom of the list
[01:03] because spoiler alert, there will be a bottom of the list. Arms warrior is probably one of the biggest surprises. And this has been a difficult one to rank because if you look at the arcan.gg DPS breakdown in
[01:19] terms of, you know, score and IO averaged out of course cuz these are not like the best players. The best players are over 4K IO. Arms is ranked as S tier. Now, I was really wanting to put arms in S tier, but it's just not quite
[01:31] tier specs. It's kind of like one key below. And it's like one or two really meta and the rest are still kind of struggling. So, with that in mind, this is as close as you can get to S tier. And kind of the order of the specs in
[01:46] this list matters a little bit. So, think of it as bottom S tier, top A. But, I think it's top A for now. This bro, I cannot believe that arms climbed from a meme spec at the beginning of the expansion to actually being close to
[02:00] S-tier. This is unprecedented. Man, I don't know what they did this season, but I'm having a blast doing dungeons with all sorts of characters, not just DPS. There's something about playing a spec that synergizes with your party and
[02:14] doing cool pulls, big damage, something that I've enjoyed in all manner of But as all friendly as Midnight has been, it still makes having a lot of alts ready to play and take a little bit too much time. And that's [music] an
[02:27] itch that WoW just cannot scratch for me. Not to mention, I think this has been said for a while, but the more modern design of WoW just doesn't sit as well with me anymore. I need more grit. I need my characters
[02:39] to look more badass. And no game does this better than Raid: Shadow Legends. I swear that whenever I look at a raid orc or knight or elf, I'm like, "Man, if we could get a bit of this design into WoW to replace the butterfly
[02:54] and pajama transmogs." Anyway, I need to get my itch scratched somehow, and being able to play the guy or the gal that I like is a big thing for me. Not to mention that with all the time WoW seems to take from me, I don't
[03:08] have a lot of it free to do other stuff. Turns out, collection RPGs are my thing. Collection RPGs, if you've never heard of them, are all about building the right team of characters after unlocking them, upgrading them, and sending them
[03:21] on giga grinds for fat loot. What Raid does that really works for my schedule is give me auto battles. I like the grind, man. I like farming for that epic set of armor that will let me clear the boss. And WoW items are just too boring,
[03:35] to be honest. At least in Raid, I can just keep juicing them up. Also, the multi-battle system, coupled with super raid, I just check my team and get my party the way I want it. And let's be honest, it's it's mostly orcs, okay? I I
[03:50] there are a whole bunch of factions with cool and sexy looking people, but I need spikes and muscle. I then send them all on a dungeon farming spree while I work on more videos and I don't know, the feeling of coming back and getting my
[04:04] feeling of coming back and getting my loot feels really good. You can get Raid for your phone, works on PC as well, by the way, by clicking the link in the description or scanning the QR code on the screen. Right now, you can get some
[04:18] catch up with a huge starter pack that has the legendary champion Kael'thas Fox Hunter. Legendary is just a character further down the upgrade path and starts further down the upgrade path and starts out stronger, just FYI. Also, as soon as
[04:31] you reach level 15, you get an additional epic champion to bolster your roster. You unlock a lot more good stuff to get you started, especially as a new player. So, you can choose one out of five promo codes for another legendary
[04:44] champion, which only works within 48 hours of using our link or QR code. The coolest one they have right now has to be this Turvold dude. Look at this menace, bro. I know it's not an orc, there are no orcs on this list, by the
[04:57] way, but this dude, this old and viking looking beast, that's what I would pick. Sadly, I'm not a new player anymore, but you can be. Plus, you'll be supporting the channel in the process of making a lot of our work here possible. Rogues
[05:10] have also had a hero's journey type story with assassination being also A-tier and I want to kind of explain a little bit what A-tier is. A-tier is little bit what A-tier is. A-tier is basically everybody over 4K IO, most if
[05:23] you look at the top 10 at at the very least. Some higher, like one or two players in that top actually bridging the old way up to like 4.1 K IO, but performance is not equal across, let's say the top 10. We usually look at the
[05:36] top 10 players so that we have like a larger sample pool, but we cannot break players in the world are just like a cut above everybody else. So, it's kind of hard to hit the balance of okay, is assassination an A-tier spec? Well, 90%
[05:50] close, maybe C-tier specs. So, we kind of have to make a choice and this is where we choose to put assassination. It's not too bad of a spec. It's almost the best rogue spec, by the way, spoiler alert. We will get to that in a second
[06:03] because first we need we need to raise the glass for the king. Still consistently, it's actually not a solo king, by the way. It has a partner in
[06:16] crime and then we'll get to the partner towards the end of the video. You'll see. But, augmentation is actually doing really well and I don't know what they performance of augmentation right now
[06:29] because the logs break down the value of it but might into an actual damage source that you can check out. Now, I don't know how accurate this is, but it definitely bringing the juice into a team and although you might not see this
[06:42] you're using a Blizzard UI or Details or augmentation is really good. And of course, it brings a lot to the table. spec. It can dispel bleeds and that's very, very important. It can dispel
[06:55] curses. It has a max AoE soothe, which is something like really, really good for Skyreach. Come with the some of the first pulls also really good on the Algeth'ar Academy in the first pull with all the
[07:08] enraged flowers or mosquitoes or whatever. It's really good. Moving to balance, the mighty have indeed fallen. Right now, balance is indeed fallen. Right now, balance is about a B-tier and [music] it's not
[07:22] very steep competition with druid. Not to mention that now bear, for some reason, is the wrong rank one tank. So, the chances of you bringing a balance to is I'm talking by the way. I'm talking about keys over 20 and and stuff like
[07:37] that. Not your average Anything below 20 doesn't really matter. Like if we would have ranked all of these specs based off of their performance up until plus 20s, and A's tier and that's about it. But, that's a boring tier list to make and
[07:49] cuz we kind of like unpacking a little bit some of the higher-end players. Balance is not necessarily bad, but it did lose its AoE identity, let's say, to did lose its AoE identity, let's say, to most likely Devourer and Unholy as well
[08:03] to an extent. I'm not sure if it does more damage than other really good AoE specs than like Demonology, but we'll end up seeing in the end. However, Balance is not too bad. It's just not the king anymore.
[08:15] the king anymore. Neither is Arcane as far as kings go. And I've debated whether to put Arcane into C or D tier. I think it it's the same situation as Arms. It might as well be bottom C, top D tier. Again, if you
[08:27] look at the top 10 Arcane players in the world, they're doing relatively high keys and it's getting really close, but I do feel like Arcane is missing crucial tuning to kind of make it there. Not to mention that Mages as a whole, and as we
[08:40] group when we push our keys, struggles hard with defensives. And Arcane is, I think, statistically the squishiest out of all of the Mage specs. slightly more damage than, let's say, Fire Mage, and we're going to get to
[08:54] Fire Mage, it definitely doesn't have the tankiness and it actually starts to become a problem at keys. I I would say past plus 17s. That's usually when it's a real issue to contend with to be able to stay alive comparing yourself to your
[09:10] other party members. Beast Mastery has also climbed the rankings and I am still in awe and salute my fellow players that can actually stomach playing this spec. Good for you. You are awesome. And it is
[09:25] actually doing really, really well in terms of overall performance. And I think Hunter as a whole is in a decent spot as a class with maybe one exception Mastery is doing really well. It has been simplified a lot and its damage
[09:38] profile has kind of been I don't want to say necessarily streamlined, but the way that you have access to it it's a little bit more straightforward and it doesn't feel like you have like you can be get punished let's say, right? It's
[09:50] definitely not the far where you're if you mess up a pool, mess up a cool down, consistent that I want to say and I think this does a a little bit of the heavy lifting for Beast Mastery. Obviously, you bring Bloodlust to your
[10:03] specific this season. Obviously, I have the augmentation, the Frost Mage, and possibly the Elemental Shaman that are like the top Bloodlust bringers of a group right now. And the next the best thing would probably be Beast Mastery.
[10:21] Speaking of the main that was nerfed It wasn't really nerfed, but my main is no longer meta anymore and I and I say this while putting it into A-tier because I do want to make a distinction here. Demonology is the breakpoint of A-tier.
[10:35] Um Demonology and anything past Demonology that you see right now on the screen is going to be a cut below specs like Arms for instance. Um and I think I've put Assassination wrong as well. Assassination is kind of around here,
[10:49] Assassination is kind of around here, maybe ahead or behind um Beast Mastery. But uh Arms and anything after Demonology is could very well be in a tier of it of its own, but because we didn't want to make like an S+ tier or
[11:02] uh putting another uh E-tier and it's But I do want to mention that Demonology is not not bad. Obviously, I'm maining it, but I do feel like it's starting to kind of lose a little bit on the AoE. Um
[11:17] it's it's definitely slightly capped and it is kind of squishy surprisingly. I'm playing a warlock. However, I it's hard to keep up with specs like Death hard to keep up with specs like Death Knight. Uh it's I you have your 3-minute
[11:32] cool down and and unending resolve, which is a very strong defensive, but then you have like 45 seconds to a minute defensives that are very poor, uh around your healer cool downs. I feel
[11:44] like that's maybe one of the biggest issues with demonology. And I do want to a lot of heavy lifting for demonology, but also all the other warlock specs if stronger. Uh Blight of Tongues is actually really
[11:56] good for your group, but it's also very very niche, and it's also like only one it's good. Warlocks are eating decent this year, but they're not what they were at the beginning of the season. Speaking of, we're going to chuck
[12:10] destruction right here, a notch behind affliction. Dude, dude, this is like a have seen in the last couple of expansions when it comes to warlock M+
[12:22] the king of Mythic Plus, and even then it wasn't that great uh with the exception of the odd season here and there. Definitely, destruction has has fell off the uh the top spat spots, let's say. I think a lot
[12:37] of that has to do with inferno no longer being a thing. And the old inferno, if older version of destruction, was when your rain of fire used to uh have a chance to generate shards when hitting multiple targets. Then you would end up
[12:50] just spamming rain of fire in big AoE. And kept AoE, destruction used to be the And kept AoE, destruction used to be the absolute best AoE scaling spec, almost that way, but they've neutered that down so much that I really don't see why you
[13:04] would ever bring destruction unless it was just broken, period. It's a dual necessarily something that you would want in a dungeon. Plus, frost mage does that way better. It's AoE is just inferior to affliction and demonology
[13:19] and half of the other DPS specs. So, really, it doesn't really feel like destruction has a niche anymore. And unless you just break it by just making it do a billion DPS, I don't really see how destruction can keep up.
[13:33] Almost there, finishing up with Mage. Fire is kind of like very similar to top keys being cleared. I feel like Fire is just being played by by the one trick, the actual true lovers of the Fire Mage spec. [music] And even if you
[13:48] look at the DPS breakdown, it's it's it's a cry, it's a cry for help, bro. Even perfect playing as Fire barely scratches the top DPS as what and what would be needed to actually clear some of the highest keys. And there's not
[14:02] been simplified as well. There used to be a time when Fire had access to like can fill different types of niche. Now it's all We've done this too too long. You know what it is. If you like it, you like it.
[14:16] guilty pleasure, but I always feel like I like the the magic has been lost. But it has been gained by Frost Mage. And Frost Mage kind of deserves its uh its flowers, its roses, its its its
[14:32] glory, its spotlight right now. It's a notch behind demonology, but not too much. And this is funny because uh both Marshall and I are playing both of these specs and we can kind of see like we're starting to fall slightly slightly
[14:45] behind when it comes to certain things. And Frost Mage definitely struggles from the defensiveness. It's capped AoE doesn't really help it in really big pulls. It does seem to have uh exceptional single target and and
[14:57] exceptional two target to three target cleave. Like I'm thinking the second very good example, the three target cleave. The uh third boss in Magister's
[15:09] Those types of bosses are really good for for Frost Mage cuz his damage is just very very efficient, let's say. Obviously, the more targets you add, the less that damage actually starts to shine. But it does have a more flexible
[15:23] specs, and here we are. We're still looking at Frost Mage being A-tier. So, [ __ ] yeah. The black sheep of the Hunter class is definitely Marksmanship, and it's one of those specs where I feel like the top
[15:37] Marksmanship are just basically good hunters that are carrying the spec because their party let them do it. I feel like that's the story of C-tier specs, bro. I feel like in C-tier, the specs are just really good specs
[15:50] that are off-specking these specs, but because their party just says, "All right, bro. You've played Beast Mastery all this time. You can have a couple of keys on your Marksmanship right where farming our plus 19s, plus 20s.
[16:02] fun so you can shut the [ __ ] up." I feel like this is kind of the only reason you considering that they're part of a class with a much better counterpart specialization, which also skews the performance overall distribution of
[16:17] in the world that have the most amount of skill are funneling that skill into another Hunter spec. I wonder if there's another Hunter spec. We'll talk about that later. Then, you'll definitely have less skill to inflate the Marksmanship
[16:31] spec, and that's kind of the story of, you know, multi-DPS spec classes that, you know, have one of the specs that is meta and one that is not. Which doesn't seem to be the case for Rogue, although we do have to agree that
[16:44] Outlaw is definitely carrying the Rogue class when it comes to the absolute top. Now, normally I said that I wanted to put Arms into S-tier. The thing is most Arms keys that are done at the very highest
[16:57] of levels are done with an Outlaw in the group. It's mostly kind of like the same that's just the nature of these people being very good at Mythic Plus, but you would you would always have an Outlaw in the top keys and in those keys, you
[17:11] of go hand in hand with a bunch of other specs that are coming in a couple of in a couple of minutes. Of course, Outlaw suffers from similar situations with Frost Mage in terms of being AoE capped. Now, Rogue is I think
[17:25] a notch ahead in terms of defensiveness and tankiness so as opposed to Mage and it does do really really good physical damage. It's DPS profile being also consistent definitely helps as well to actually be really good in a lot of
[17:38] other cases considering that the meta is also populated by very niche and specific DPS specs. Finishing off with the Hunter, we're going to drag Survival very close to the caster meta Demonology Frost Mage, let's
[17:55] well. It's I mean, you can probably interchange Demonology Jesus Survival playing it or what week that is or who got the 5% or 3% buff that time, which
[18:07] is funny cuz neither of them have been buffed in in recent times and they're not doing too shabby as you can obviously tell. You could probably put a Survival in one of those metaphysical comp groups, but it's it's debatable
[18:21] since in those groups you'd normally have a resto shaman that brings the mastery buff and the Bloodlust. So, really Survival doesn't really bring a lot of stuff and you have better sources of that physical damage output that you
[18:33] can put into those groups and we'll get to to the last one in a second. So, Survival is just solid. It's just if you really want a hunter, you're probably going to want a Survival before any other spec. It is still a melee so maybe
[18:45] that's a consideration as to whether you take Survival or Beast Mastery, but this is only for the very very very top keys once again. Devastation, if I'm not mistaken thinking back at the
[18:59] beginning of the expansion, Devastation was broken and it was S-tier. Now, it's I think it's this is the story of don't be too over-powered at the beginning of the season because you're going to be nuked into the ground and
[19:13] sometimes you stay there and it looks like that's the story of devastation. augmentation is like at the polar opposite side of the list. So, what are you going to do, man? I do feel like devastation has been done a little bit
[19:27] lot of drawbacks when it comes to Mythic Plus with it being squishy, with it the holder of a utility kit that's always more desirable to be brought by an augmentation because augmentation brings a bunch of other stuff as well, a
[19:41] which ends up being definitely a consideration in the highest of keys where people start to struggle with surviving. And that doesn't really help augmentation and does not bring those tools as well. One thing that
[19:54] devastation had good for it at the beginning of the season was explosive burst AoE. It was crazy, crazy, and incredible single target and and multi-target cleave. I think its dead spot blind spot was kind of in between
[20:10] something like that, somewhere in between there cuz it felt like it was doing crazy on massive AoE and crazy on small stacked cleave with mass story, it's like we don't that doesn't really matter anymore, it might have
[20:23] undertuned and could definitely [music] use some buffs, please. Now, my other main that I'm not playing in Mythic Plus to take advantage of the fact that it is absolutely cracked and is devas- devour. It has the dev in
[20:39] accidents, okay? Bro, devour just has everything. As much as I love this spec and I don't really think it's very easy to pull off this damage, I do feel like it's just designed very
[20:52] differently. You don't sacrifice AoE and single target almost at all. The fact target and your best AoE ability at the same time with the exact same build is crazy design. It's crazy to have a talent build that has almost no
[21:07] drawbacks whatsoever when you think of let's say Beast Master as an example has the talent into AoE or it has no AoE whatsoever or specs like Affliction who have no single target at all because otherwise they don't have AoE either so
[21:22] they have to do that choice but the VDH doesn't have that choice at all. I think first season where it's out. I'm pretty sure this is not going to last. If you are playing the VDH right now, have fun because I bet hard money that in season
[21:35] 2 this will all change. They will probably want to make you have to choose between single target and AoE and if not really nerf the performance of the VDH. pretty strong with it being a new spec into the game.
[21:50] Elemental has also kind of been like a like a underdog or wild dog in this race because it's been consistently high performing but kind of under everybody's those specs where as opposed to Beast Mastery its
[22:06] damage is very particular. You just have the highest burst this season out of everybody in the game during Ascendance. It is unreal how stupid that
[22:18] burst is and if you can play around it, you're just going to make Elemental explode and delete packs on its own. The problem is it's a 3-minute cool down so you're not going to stop for 2 minutes in between each pull to wait for that to
[22:32] happen. So that's probably what keeps Elemental from being any higher but with that being said, I mean it's in the top part of eight tiers definitely S tier spec at the beginning of the
[22:44] So it's really good not to mention that if you do bring an Elemental, you have Mastery buff which is one of the strongest ones this season and most likely every season altogether and that opens up a lot of a lot more diverse
[22:58] group composition for you that you can play with since that Mastery benefits a lot of other specs, a lot actually, specs like red paladin, but we will get to that in a second. We do have to look at enhancements
[23:11] for I think it's top of beat here ish kind of, so it's it could be close to A tier, but I feel like the difference between the top 10 enhancement shamans and the top 10 elemental shamans is a little bit
[23:24] put them in the same tier cuz it didn't really feel like they're equal, let's equal. With that being said, enhancement is not doing too shabby, obviously. It is probably still suffering from its massive squishiness because shamans
[23:39] definitely lost earthen wall totem, which wasn't necessarily a great defensive, and maybe the compensating factor of it is that defensive cool down, and you lose the taunt option of it, and with
[23:55] I forgot the name when you interrupt it a target and you have magic magic damage reduction for 18 or something like that or 15 seconds or whatever it is. That's also really good considering that you can actually efficiently rotate kicks
[24:08] many casts as it were in in the war within, thank god, but there are enough where you could essentially maintain the sub time damage reduction, which is very good. Not a lot of specs have this, and this coupled with your astral shift is
[24:22] probably something that's keeping you alive, but I don't see shaman as a whole We're not going to talk about restoration cuz that's a healer. Feral has been a very happy surprise, to be honest. It has finally overtaken
[24:37] balance druid. Finally as in, you know, in a random season, because we've been looking at tier lists since BFA, and we always knew that balance was just superior to feral, period. But feral right now just is insane with the DPS.
[24:50] If you look at some of the top ferals in the world, like Algeth'ar Academy feral, this is just absolutely destroying and you want to take feral in your in your physical calm groups, let's say in your arms and
[25:02] rogue video Jesus arms and rogue dungeons and that's you know outlaw rogue and those are kind of like AoE cap, but that's where feral actually shines where it might lose in single target. Although
[25:14] target is that bad either. It still brings the juice in AoE and you it is a good source to bring that mark of the wild especially if your monk is your tank cuz you want that physical damage debuff as well and your shaman is your
[25:29] healer. That just makes the comp to be really good and I think this is pretty world within is just because the synergy between them is so good and it's such an efficient distribution of group buffs in between all of these specs because if
[25:43] you if you put the druid to be the bear, then you have to put the monk to be the healer and then you do you bring an elemental that doesn't really match that Obviously enhancement is a cut below all of the rest and if you instead instead
[25:57] get the resto shaman and instead bring windwalker. Windwalker is not that bad. cannot really hold a candle to the top. So feral is kind of locked in. That's just how it is. Another happy surprise has been frost
[26:11] death knight and figured oh it's beat here. It's not that not that amazing, death knight was kind of at the at the bottom at the beginning of the season. I F or D tier level where devastation kind of is at the moment and with all of the
[26:26] mention if you watched the last week's tier list, you might know that frost DK is I think it's an S tier spec in raid in terms of like boss damage and that's really good. It's It doesn't bring the the amazing
[26:39] the DPS output that unholy has [music] because the utility is just pretty much the same with frost death knight utility is just very very good this season. To be fair, AMZ just gets melted no matter what DK spec you are. It definitely does
[26:54] help, but it feels like the higher keys you go, the the faster the AMZ just gets depleted. In terms of like group value that you bring to a party, and groups always good. It's not a a frost thing. It's unholy also brings that. So, it's
[27:08] unholy doesn't already. But, if you do doing just fine so long as you don't want to push. I don't know what they're doing right now. 22s, I think. Fury warrior has also dipped a little
[27:20] beginning of the season, and now it's just the bottom of A-tier spec. It has definitely been outclassed by arms warrior at the moment. And fury warrior still has decent single target. I think probably better single target than arms
[27:34] Um but, it of course it's AOE capped, and we see AOE capped specs struggle. incredible niche situation, like let's say frost mage. For First of all, frost mage is not AOE capped at like what? Four, five targets. And uh it it does do
[27:49] really insane two-target cleave, which fury is not bad at, but it's not that specialized in. So, the niche that fury brings cannot just be exploited whatsoever. They tried to do something with I think it's called rampaging ruin,
[28:03] where your rampage splashes AOE, but it's so undertuned and underwhelming. I don't even know if people take this uh in their kit period. It definitely had a lot going for it at the beginning of of the meta because we've tested it
[28:15] on the beta, but uh all that hope was lost once that was once rampaging ruin was nerfed because it felt like the devs uh heard people complaining about the the thing." And then it's like, "Nope, it's too strong. Nerf it." And now it's
[28:28] just [music] kind of pointless. Which is I don't want to say it's the A-tier in the end. Havoc, on the other hand, could be considered a pointless spec. It's not a pointless. It's It's B-tier, right? It's
[28:42] I have a better spec in my class that does way better than me tier, but I want to play this one instead uh type situation. Havoc is not that bad as opposed to the war for instance. It's burst is very, very, very up front. It's
[28:56] on a 2-minute cool down of course as far as you get your meta. You do have your hunt which activates a 1-minute type burst, but it's just not the same. I mean, demonology has the 1-minute type burst with tyrant and its damage is just
[29:09] way different. It's the hunt is just not quite the same. The only difference is that with meta, you might end up doing slightly more, but even with that that's still debatable. I think it's just that the
[29:21] they're not bad obviously. You're beat here, but they're not quite there yet not to mention that Havoc is also a melee this tier when melee has always had a rough time keeping up with range especially this season where there's so
[29:35] many circles that you have to dodge. And as opposed to specs like on holy where you have some range and can still have some up time on the boss, you just have nothing with Havoc. Speaking of specs that can have up time
[29:48] at range, we're definitely looking at Ret Paladin now. Ret Paladin isn't really 100% used in the physical comp groups. I don't even know if it is used at all. However, Ret Paladin manages to keep up there pretty high with a lot of
[30:02] other specs. From what I understand, Ret Paladin really, really, really, really benefits from the Shaman mastery buff and that's really good. So, you might groups especially when they're pushing the highest of keys. To be fair, Paladin
[30:15] has a really good utility kit for this season. I cannot overstate how important it is to have a blessing of protection and a freedom this season. Of course, that brings that, but you're probably not going to see that on Prot Paladin.
[30:28] and people have been pushing really high with Prot Paladin, definitely not on first Paladin spec that you can bring for an extra bleed dispel, an extra root
[30:40] break in those pit of sorrows when the gargoyle just yoinks somebody up. They're very important. So, or in seat of the triumphvirate, or in pit of saurn debuff that is so good to remove with stuff like freedom. It's unbelievable.
[30:54] And of course you have an immunity. You are also tanky. I think probably rip out of the tankiest eight tier spec in uh in this season. And that says quite a bit and its damage is not too bad. Somehow it just always seems to do a lot of
[31:07] damage. A new contender into the eight tier is definitely shadow priest and I think people might be sleeping on shadow than fury um
[31:20] in in at least as of recording this video, but don't take that too seriously right now. Shadow priest is not doing too bad and it's kind of the only priest spec that keeps up. I think it's it's you know uh the
[31:32] a toss up between it and and discipline priest. However, discipline priest has is just a pure DPS spec. It obviously has spread cleave which is really good. Its damage profile is is I want to say it's really good design, but it kind of
[31:45] depends on where the devs want psychic link to be cuz nothing has been yo-yo'd it does bring power infusion, which is nothing to scoff at and it definitely helps a lot of the DPS specs. And I've seen uh shadow priest just play with
[32:00] babysitting I'm sup- posing. posing. I'm guessing rather devourer and Devourer can just handle everything. Just infuse it with power.
[32:17] rogue class this season. It's not doing too bad and rogue is is rogue the only class that has all of its spec in specs in eight tier? This is wow. This is actually not that bad considering that rogues also had a rough start of the
[32:32] And subtlety actually looked to be the strongest one going in, but it seems to rogue specs. And again, um it's it it lost also its niche in terms of like the best burst in the game. I'm
[32:46] subtlety. The difference is that subtlety has access to the burst way more often than Elemental. So, it's a little bit more reliable, but once again, it is it is a I was going to say it's a melee physical damage dealer, but
[32:58] of shadow damage. So, it doesn't really fit as well, I guess, into the physical comp. It's not a bad one, but the mystic touch from the monk might not help subtlety as much, of course, but
[33:12] just fine. But, hey, subtlety not too bad. Rogue having everything in eight-tier poggies. The last king, uh spoiler alert, of this tier is definitely Unholy. Not something that I have expected. If you would have
[33:28] certain that Unholy would have been up. And Unholy was nerfed, and people were they've been doing, "Oh my god, my Unholy. Oh, what am I going to do?" And lo and behold, it is still absolutely crushing it. And I do have to say, on a
[33:42] side note, total total tangent, I have come around and uh realized that Unholy is actually really fun. Um it has had some of the wildest ride in terms of like uh how fun it was to play since beginning of alpha all the way to right
[33:57] coaster, and now I feel like they're really nailing down on a very crucial design uh choice for Unholy, especially with the what is the Circle of Death right now, which was it which was kind of new. They added it in 12.0.5. That
[34:10] was wild to do. And I feel like that definitely bumped Unholy up a lot with very big pulls in Death and Decay just giving you so much Petrified cooldown reduction. It is so fun. Please, don't take this away.
[34:23] lifting for how fun Unholy can be in super high-end content. A dark horse that is still a little bit in the shadow is Windwalker. And
[34:35] Windwalker is Well, well, to use the rogue analogy, right now. Both Mistweaver and Brewmaster are doing so well, so it's kind of hard for Windwalker to shine. But also, I believe still in 12.0.5, it
[34:49] got a change to its Zenith cooldown where now you have Zenith stomp, the old Faeline stomp. It's just you just stomp, right? And that has ever since that Windwalkers push higher and higher keys. Now, I don't know if they have what it
[35:03] takes to to get into A tier just yet, but climbing from C, D tier, whatever we had them last in before 12.0.5, it's been a while. Um we can only hope for more with Windwalker because Windwalker has had a
[35:19] weird journey in the last 2 years where it where it kind of swapped identities introduction of the hero talents. But that's an older story right now. Windwalker's doing really good as just it's just very hard to justify bringing
[35:32] a Windwalker when when every other monk spec is doing so much better. This is how the meta's looking like this week, and don't get it twisted, it's super fun and don't get it twisted, it's super fun to play any one of these DPS specs in
