Chapters
Only 10 will be sold, starting at €11 million before taxes. It is a new model, not just a cut roof from the coupe.
The speedster has a new front blade for altered aerodynamics due to the missing roof. Active downforce flaps also feed air into front radiators.
The car has normal doors instead of the coupe's gwing doors, requiring all-new front and rear wings. The windscreen is slightly lower.
The speedster is 25 cm longer than a Huayra, with a classic longtail design. It features a matte cream paint and active aero.
Ceramic-coated exhaust pipes are added, with two extra hidden lower pipes for more sound. The car has more power than the coupe but focuses on noise.
All speedsters are manual, requiring a new central spine, wider pedal box, and altered rear subframe.
Uses the Utopia's 6.0L V12 twin-turbo engine with 864 horsepower. The gearbox has bronze accents nodding to the Utopia.
The largest single piece of carbon fiber Pagani has ever made, measuring 3.7 square meters.
No plastic inside; everything is metal, wood, leather, fabric, or carbon fiber. Special fabric has 4 million stitches and is made by a unique machine in Europe.
Carbon fiber core with mahogany overlay and aluminum bolts, machined down. The dog leg manual gearbox is described as glorious.
Two-tone green color scheme, with machined metal air vents and dials with special green paint unique to the speedster.
No overbearing screen, just Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Seats are same structure as Huayra but new fabric and leather choices.
A fire extinguisher is included, addressing a common hypercar issue.
Multiple storage spaces throughout the cabin, including a glove box, dash space, phone holders, and bespoke luggage.
Includes a suit bag and a cup holder. Rear luggage pods are accessed via a complex procedure with leather straps.
The front bonnet reveals beautiful carbon fiber, especially with a solid color. Mentions Pagani's OCD-like attention to detail.
A roof option exists, requiring two people to fit. Detailed step-by-step fitting process shown with Lorenzo from Pagani's special projects division.
The car is part of the 'Gandhi Complication' family, focusing on few-off and one-off cars. It started as an open-roof evolution of the Codalunga coupe.
The prototype green paint (Veres Pitster) is custom, with over 60 samples tested. Despite client interest, Pagani initially won't offer it.
Only top-tier clients can purchase, with all 10 units sold before the prototype was shown. The speedster is preferred for the open-top experience.
The Pagani Codalunga Speedster is a masterpiece of engineering and craftsmanship, blending open-top exhilaration with bespoke luxury. Its extreme exclusivity and price underline its status as a pinnacle hypercar.

[00:00] This beautiful thing is the new Pagani
[00:02] Quadalonga Speedster. Only 10 will ever
[00:05] be sold and the starting price is from
[00:07] €11 million and that's before taxes. And
[00:10] I'm going to tell you why it's so
[00:12] special.
[00:16] You might be thinking that Pagani have
[00:18] taken the Quadral Coupe and just cut the
[00:20] roof off. It's not that simple. So,
[00:22] while it looks the same from the front,
[00:24] it's not. The Speedster has this new
[00:27] blade there for altered aerodynamics cuz
[00:30] they've changed the arrow on this car
[00:31] because it has no roof. Now, here at the
[00:33] front, you have these wonderful big
[00:34] flaps there. So, they are active
[00:37] downforce, but they also help feed air
[00:38] into the front radiators. Moving down
[00:40] the side, one thing you notice is that
[00:43] this windscreen is slightly lower than
[00:45] on the coupe. It gives the car a more ra
[00:47] shape. Another obvious change is this.
[00:49] So, the coupe has gwing doors. This has
[00:52] normal doors. They do look the same in
[00:54] terms of the design, but the shape is
[00:56] all new. And because they fitted these
[00:58] new doors, they've had to alter the
[00:59] wings at the front and at the back. So,
[01:02] those body panels are all new. So, too
[01:05] is the rear deck as well because we have
[01:07] no coupe roof. And we've got vents in
[01:09] there where you can just about see the
[01:10] engine. Also, you got these huge scoops
[01:12] there and there which do help that big
[01:15] V12 breathe. Terms of wheel sizes, they
[01:18] are the same as on the coupe. 20 at the
[01:20] front, 21 at the rear. And look at that.
[01:22] looks stunning. In fact, this matte
[01:24] cream paint is just round the back. I
[01:27] mean, this is a classic longtail. So,
[01:29] it's 25 cm longer than a wirro, and it
[01:32] just looks so good. Once again, with the
[01:34] active arrow, just looks beautiful when
[01:36] it's stationary, and then it looks
[01:37] high-tech when it's driving. Another
[01:39] cool feature is we have ceramic coated
[01:42] exhaust pipes, but unlike the coupe,
[01:45] this speedster adds two extra exhaust
[01:47] pipes. They're actually hidden
[01:48] underneath here. Look, there they are.
[01:50] Now, they're added because this car has
[01:52] more power than the quadalonga coupe,
[01:55] but it's not about the power really.
[01:56] It's about the noise. Little button in
[01:58] the cabin, press it, opens up valves in
[01:59] those lower exhaust for more sound. The
[02:02] body panels and the exhaust are not the
[02:03] only thing that differentiate this car
[02:05] from the coupe version or quad longer
[02:07] speeds at the moment are manual. And
[02:09] because of that, they've had to alter
[02:10] the car chassis. So, they've had to fit
[02:12] this central spine here, which is
[02:14] different than on the coupe. They've
[02:15] made the pedal box wider so you can have
[02:18] three pedals. Also, the manual gearbox
[02:21] has a different bracket. So, the rear
[02:22] subframe has had to be changed as well.
[02:24] It's basically completely new. As with a
[02:26] quadalonga coupe, the starting point of
[02:28] this car is a wirer. So, the wheelbase
[02:30] is the same as a wirer. However, because
[02:32] it's a long tail, there's this extra bit
[02:34] of chassis which is longer to
[02:36] accommodate that longer tail. Unlike the
[02:38] quadalonga coupe though, which uses the
[02:40] Wira engine, this Speedster uses the
[02:43] Utopia engine. So, six liter V12 twin
[02:46] turbo power 864
[02:49] horsepower. Now, you can see the gold on
[02:51] here. That's a nod to the Quadral Lunga
[02:53] coupe. However, if you look here, you
[02:56] will see this bronze on the gearbox. So,
[02:58] this is the manual gearbox here. That is
[03:00] a nod to the Utopia. Now, you might be
[03:02] thinking, "Blime me, that's a lot of
[03:03] carbon fiber, Matt." Well, yeah. This is
[03:04] the biggest single piece of carbon fiber
[03:07] that Pagani has ever made. It's 3.7
[03:10] square m. It's huge. The interior of
[03:13] this car is just exquisite. So the
[03:15] design is the same as the Quadrala
[03:17] coupe, which means it's different than a
[03:18] Wra or a Utopia. It's unique to the
[03:20] Quadalonga series. And everything you
[03:22] see and touch is either metal, wood,
[03:25] leather, fabric, carbon fiber. There is
[03:28] no plastic in here at all. It's
[03:30] absolutely gorgeous. Special shout out
[03:34] to this fabric here. It's not your
[03:35] average everyday fabric. Oh no. It's
[03:37] actually embroidered by a special
[03:39] machine, of which there is only one in
[03:40] Europe. And there's four million
[03:42] individual stitches to produce the
[03:44] fabric in this car. The total cost.
[03:47] Well, all this fabric, just this these
[03:49] bits, same price as an average family
[03:51] car.
[03:53] It's nuts. Same with the steering wheel.
[03:55] So, it's got a carbon fiber core like a
[03:57] wirer and then they put mahogany over it
[03:59] and then some aluminum bolts and they
[04:01] just machine it all down. So, it just
[04:03] feels luxurious. Same with the gear
[04:06] shifter. In fact, let's have a little
[04:07] go. Oh, so it's a dog leg manual gearbox
[04:12] and I just love just seeing
[04:15] seeing it working with the linkages. It
[04:18] is glorious. Another thing to note is
[04:20] this green color. Very, very special.
[04:22] And you got two-tone here. So you got
[04:24] different color green up there as on
[04:26] those air vents and the air vents
[04:27] themselves once again machined from
[04:29] metal. If you look at the dials, they're
[04:31] the same structure and layout as the
[04:33] quadalonga coupe, but it's got special
[04:35] green paint. It is unique and everything
[04:37] that you just touch feels like even the
[04:39] door latch. Oh, to open the door,
[04:41] everything is a pleasure to use. I'm
[04:43] just like pressing buttons randomly
[04:45] because they just all feel so nice.
[04:47] Never has applying a parking brake felt
[04:49] so good.
[04:51] All these switches, once again, unique
[04:52] to the quad lunger. You don't find these
[04:54] on other Pagani cars. The layout is new.
[04:56] And we haven't got an overbearing
[04:58] screen. You just got enough for your
[04:59] Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Most
[05:01] likely with customers Apple CarPlay. The
[05:04] seats themselves are the same structure
[05:06] as in a wirer, but completely new in
[05:08] terms of the fabric and the leather
[05:10] choices. There is one extra feature on
[05:12] this car that's worth noting, and it's
[05:14] the fact that sometimes you've seen
[05:15] videos online of like hyperars bursting
[05:17] into flames and stuff and then, you
[05:19] know, people buying them to try and do
[05:20] them up and then failing to do it.
[05:21] That's not going to happen with one of
[05:22] these because look, you got a fire
[05:23] extinguisher here in the car. So, if
[05:25] anything should happen, pop that and
[05:27] everything's good. ish. Now, cars like
[05:30] this, they don't tend to be practical,
[05:31] but there's something about Bagani which
[05:32] has a sort of boutique luggage feel to
[05:35] it, and that extends to the car. So,
[05:37] there's loads of little places to store
[05:39] stuff. So, there's your glove box, but
[05:41] then up here on the dash, you have more
[05:43] space. Up there, there's some little
[05:44] places there for your mobile phone.
[05:46] Here, there's some more storage. Here,
[05:49] there's some more storage. Up here,
[05:51] there's some more storage. Here is some
[05:53] bespoke luggage once again with the
[05:55] embroidery and leather that's on the
[05:57] seats. We have a suit bag here as well.
[06:00] There's a place for your mobile phone
[06:01] there and your USB sockets. But you
[06:03] might be thinking, well, that's all in a
[06:05] good mat. There's no place for your
[06:07] drink. There is. There is. They thought
[06:09] of this. Look, there's a cup holder
[06:11] there. Perfect. But there's even more
[06:13] luggage capacity on this car. It's more
[06:15] practical than you think. But before I
[06:17] show you that, I need to just let you
[06:19] see the key.
[06:21] It's a perfect model of the car. Look at
[06:23] that. Wow. Don't lose that. To be honest
[06:26] with you, accessing the boot is a bit of
[06:27] a palava. So, you open the door, undo
[06:31] these lovely leather straps like that.
[06:34] Flick this. There we go. Then you have
[06:37] to go around the other side.
[06:40] Same procedure. Undo that. Undo that.
[06:44] There we go. And then lifty upy.
[06:49] And now you can access the luggage pods.
[06:52] Look down here. So once again under the
[06:55] strap.
[06:56] And now drop this down. And there is
[06:58] your bespoke luggage once again with
[07:01] that wonderful embroidering. And then
[07:03] when you done that you um you have to
[07:05] put it all back together again.
[07:08] Okay. But do you know what? You don't
[07:09] really mind. And I'll tell you why you
[07:11] don't mind because you just have a look
[07:15] at the beautiful engineering and
[07:16] craftsmanship. There's something about
[07:18] seeing the the top of a tire. If you
[07:21] have a car where you can see the top of
[07:22] the tire, you're living your best life.
[07:24] I'm wondering what's under the clamshell
[07:25] bonnet, though. So, to open that, it's
[07:27] the same procedure. Undo the buckles.
[07:30] There is definitely a luggage theme with
[07:31] this car. Do the clip, run around,
[07:37] clip, and up.
[07:42] Now, I'd normally say there's no point
[07:44] going underneath the bonnet because
[07:45] there's no storage. But it is quite nice
[07:46] to look at this carbon fiber, isn't it?
[07:48] Especially if you've gone for a solid
[07:49] color like on this car. There's
[07:51] something about Pagani and their carbon
[07:52] fiber. It's definitely worth
[07:54] appreciating. Look at the way that's all
[07:55] lined up there.
[07:59] I think they have OCD at Pagani. Now,
[08:01] you might be thinking, "Yes, Matt,
[08:03] lovely car, but it's roofless. What
[08:05] happens if it rains or it's cold? You
[08:07] can only take it out in good weather."
[08:08] Well, no, because you can get it with a
[08:10] roof. This is the roof for the car.
[08:12] However, it does take two people to fit
[08:14] it and you need to know what you're
[08:16] doing. So, this is Lorenzo from Pagani's
[08:18] special projects division and he is
[08:20] going to show me what we need to do to
[08:21] fit the roof. So, what's the first
[08:22] thing?
[08:23] >> So, the first thing is to close the
[08:24] front bonnet.
[08:25] >> Okay.
[08:26] >> So, we just need to lift it down.
[08:28] >> Yeah,
[08:30] I'm good with this, I think.
[08:32] >> Yeah, close it. Perfect. Then fix the
[08:36] latch.
[08:39] Okay latched.
[08:41] >> Then we just need to close a little bit
[08:43] the door without closing total.
[08:45] >> So just a little bit. Not not completely
[08:47] closed. Do we shut this down?
[08:48] >> No. Just maintaining it open.
[08:51] >> Okay.
[08:52] >> And close the mirror a little bit.
[08:53] >> Close the mirror a little bit.
[08:55] >> Yes.
[08:55] >> Okay. This is very specific. Right.
[08:57] Good. Correct.
[08:58] >> They feel nice, by the way.
[09:00] >> Which side do you want me on?
[09:02] >> I get the one. Okay.
[09:03] >> This one. The right one.
[09:05] >> Lift it up.
[09:06] >> Lift it up. It's really lightweight.
[09:08] >> Yeah, it is light. Are you sure you
[09:10] can't do it on your own?
[09:12] >> Um, no. Because it's really large.
[09:14] >> Oh, yeah.
[09:15] >> So, okay. Right.
[09:18] >> Yeah. This is nerve-wracking.
[09:20] >> Then you can see there is a metal cone.
[09:23] You You need to put the metal cone
[09:24] inside the recess.
[09:26] >> It's gone in.
[09:27] >> Got it. Perfect. And then just
[09:29] >> Wait, wait, wait. You clipped something
[09:30] there.
[09:32] >> Oh,
[09:33] >> no. Yours, your your size clicked. No.
[09:37] Okay.
[09:37] >> Is it open? The handle?
[09:38] >> Yeah, the handle's open.
[09:39] >> Okay. Then there is uh a handle here.
[09:42] Just open it.
[09:43] >> Where?
[09:44] >> Here. There is a handle.
[09:45] >> Okay. Yeah, I've got a handle.
[09:47] >> Yeah.
[09:47] >> Wait, I can't get it open.
[09:48] >> Pushing the Okay, I got it. That feels
[09:51] nice.
[09:51] >> Then close it here.
[09:53] >> And then close also the handle at the
[09:55] back.
[09:55] >> Right. So, you got to do that in order.
[09:56] Oh, perfect. Done.
[09:58] >> Everything feels so gorgeous, doesn't
[10:00] it?
[10:00] >> We just need to close this one before
[10:02] the door.
[10:02] >> If I done that the wrong way round, what
[10:04] would have happened? Uh, probably you
[10:06] could scratch the rear trunk.
[10:08] >> Right. Good job you said that, Lorenzo.
[10:10] That could have been catastrophic and
[10:12] very expensive for me. And now just clip
[10:16] that down. That's clipped.
[10:18] Just close the door. And there it is.
[10:20] And with the roof on, the car looks like
[10:22] a coupe. It does, doesn't it? It's
[10:24] lovely. So, can you tell me what what
[10:26] exactly is the idea behind this car? And
[10:29] what does the special project division
[10:31] do? So this car is part of the Gandhi
[10:33] Complication family. Gandhi Complication
[10:35] is the special project division in
[10:37] charge of working on few off car as well
[10:39] as oneoff car. This car start as an open
[10:43] roof evolution of the Kodalunga coupe.
[10:45] Maintaining exactly the same design
[10:47] approaches in terms of simplicity. The
[10:49] car looks like uh hand molded or
[10:51] sculpted by the wind. We have removed
[10:54] everything was not necessary. No grills,
[10:56] no aerodynamic elements, no wings.
[10:58] Everything was like sculpted by the
[11:00] wind. a real timeless car.
[11:02] >> There's certain features on it which
[11:03] really stand out such as this paint.
[11:05] This is just not your normal Pagani
[11:07] paint. Like when you're configuring a
[11:08] Utopia, you can't select this paint, can
[11:10] you?
[11:11] >> No, this paint is custom made for this
[11:13] car. Uh the name is called Veres Pitster
[11:16] and we have done more than 60 samples of
[11:19] color tone before choosing the right
[11:21] one.
[11:21] >> So, how long did that take?
[11:23] >> It's really long a long process.
[11:25] >> Obviously, customers, they won't
[11:26] necessarily be going for this green. Has
[11:28] some gone for this green
[11:29] >> right now? No, because we wanted just to
[11:31] keep it as a prototype, but many clients
[11:34] are asking it.
[11:35] >> Really? Okay. We said many. There's 10
[11:37] cars. 10 have been sold. How many of the
[11:40] 10 customers have asked for this green?
[11:41] >> Many of them. But till today, no one
[11:43] will have it.
[11:44] >> Really? But might you change your mind?
[11:46] >> Let's see it.
[11:47] >> Do you know what? Every single Kala
[11:49] Lunga speed is going to be in this
[11:51] green. I tell you cuz it looks great.
[11:53] What else is special about this car
[11:54] then? There was a very important uh
[11:57] thing about the design that is the
[12:00] central tunnel that evolves to the roll
[12:02] bar and we when we have designed the
[12:05] central tunnel we wanted to create a
[12:06] sort of link between the exterior and
[12:09] the interior. This is the reason why we
[12:12] have a sort of color fold that from the
[12:14] rear part of the trunk goes down till
[12:17] the upper part of the front end. This is
[12:19] very nice.
[12:19] >> Well Lorenzo, I mean this is an
[12:21] absolutely stunning car. All cars have
[12:23] been sold. It's not surprising. Did you
[12:26] have all cars sold before you even
[12:30] started building the prototype
[12:31] >> in the way? Because we have considered
[12:33] it secret till the presentation last
[12:36] July. After the presentation, we had so
[12:39] many requests and for having one of the
[12:41] Kodalongas pista, you need to be on the
[12:43] top tire client level.
[12:46] >> So, not all the client could have one,
[12:48] only specific clients.
[12:50] >> There's even levels within Pagani. I
[12:52] mean it is insane but what a beautiful
[12:54] beautiful car. Thing is though one for
[12:56] me an open top car you get to hear the
[12:58] noise. I I prefer an open top car. I
[13:00] would rather have the speeder than the
[13:02] coupe if I was ever in that situation.
[13:04] However, I must say there is one Pagani
[13:07] that I've driven which I know even
[13:09] though this will sound great. It won't
[13:10] sound as good as this Pagani to find out
[13:12] what the Pagani is. Just click on the
[13:13] video window to check that out cuz it is
[13:16] insane. You got to hear the car. Anyway,
[13:17] listen. I hope you enjoyed the video. If
[13:19] you did, give it a like. Let me know
[13:20] what you think of the Quadlunga
[13:22] Speedster in the comments. If you
[13:23] haven't done so already, make sure you
[13:24] subscribe to this channel because we've
[13:26] got a very special Pagani video coming
[13:28] out soon. Anyway, thanks for watching
[13:29] and I'll see you next
