AI Summary

This video provides a comprehensive breakdown and analysis of the horror film 'Obsession', directed by Curry Barker. It explores the film's central themes of illusion, control, and the destructive nature of obsession, while also uncovering hidden details, Easter eggs, and behind-the-scenes information. The analysis focuses on how the film uses its low budget to create a deeply unsettling psychological horror experience.

[00:00]
The Core Illusion

The film's most famous scene shows Bear confronting Nikki about faking her dad's cancer. Instead of denying it, she asks 'Then why does it matter?' to preserve the fantasy. Bear accepts this because it's easier than dealing with the reality of her lies.

[04:12]
Record-Breaking Budget

The film was made on a budget of $750,000 and has become one of the most profitable movies of all time, signaling a change in cinema towards more psychological horror.

[04:58]
Comedy to Horror Transition

Director Curry Barker came from a sketch comedy background ('That's a Bad Idea'), and the film's success follows a trend of comedy filmmakers transitioning to horror, like Jordan Peele and Zach Cregger.

[06:09]
Opening Scene Symbolism

The opening scene at the diner sets up the theme of illusion, as Bear is actually talking to a waitress, not Nikki. This foreshadows how his image of love is all an act.

[09:45]
Character Name Symbolism

Bear's name is a reference to the viral question about whether women would rather be left alone in the woods with a bear or a man, highlighting that he is a predator.

[20:40]
The One Wish Willow Origin

The 'One Wish Willow' was inspired by the Monkey's Paw and a Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode. It is designed to look like a cheap, hokey toy, not a typical creepy horror item.

[18:48]
The Green Man Shop

The shop is called 'The Green Man', a folklore figure associated with rebirth and the cautionary tale of being careful what you wish for.

[22:40]
Cinematography Style

The cinematography was inspired by David Fincher's work, particularly 'Seven', with murky, grim visuals and centered framing that leaves empty space, creating an unsettling atmosphere.

[42:02]
Nikki's Brief Breakthrough

The real Nikki breaks through when Bear confronts her about her father's cancer, screaming 'No!' repeatedly. This is her rejecting the lie, but the entity quickly takes over again.

[49:16]
The Only Way Out

The only way to break the wish is for Bear to die, as explained by the customer service line. Bear is given a chance to cancel the wish but refuses.

[60:44]
Ian's Selfish Wish

Ian wishes for a billion dollars instead of helping his friend, which leads to his death as the money falls on him. This shows the selfishness of all characters.

[63:04]
Nikki's Fate

Nikki is left alive, surrounded by the dead bodies of her friends, and will likely be charged with triple homicide. The ending is bleak and tragic.

[00:00] Okay, so one of the most twisted parts

[00:03] the movie's most famous scene. No, no, no.

[00:11] In it, Bear confronts Nikki about her faking her

[00:15] they were having a nice time. How about

[00:19] she simply says something so they can go back to

[00:25] illusion because this is what would

[00:29] "Then why does it matter?" Because if things

[00:34] matter if something darker is going on behind

[00:38] as well because it's easier than dealing with

[00:42] to stay in the fantasy because in his mind, this

[00:48] And this is exemplified when we jump cut to the

[00:53] but is just going through the motions much like

[00:58] as well is showing that she's really asking Bear

[01:04] he does. Though the real Nikki constantly leaves

[01:09] ignores this to keep up the illusion. Bear knows

[01:14] which also stops him from really connecting to

[01:18] as we know, this isn't the real Nikki. But to

[01:23] movie is all about how much he's willing to ignore

[01:28] creepiest ones happens when Nikki's asleep, and we

[01:34] ignore it, though, and this leads to the death

[01:39] respected Nikki's wishes rather than his own,

[01:43] despair. Nikki ends up becoming his prisoner, who

[01:49] She completely loses her autonomy and becomes

[01:53] looks human. Now, another big moment happens

[01:57] She looks otherworldly, which is a testament to

[02:01] and there's obviously a lot of subtext here with

[02:06] which is why the face looks off. It's uncanny and

[02:11] and mannequins are, of course, figures that

[02:15] or agency. It also plays into Bear's desires

[02:20] her personality, her dreams, and desires, and

[02:33] feels like a direct nod to Get Out, which

[02:42] no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

[02:47] of how obsession is a poison chalice. Sure, if

[02:51] and hit the thumbs up, but you have to wonder

[02:56] that person feeling anxiety and fear. And when

[03:00] it then puts them in a position where they then

[03:04] things to try and get the person to love them

[03:08] this destroys everything around them. This is even

[03:13] conditions that Nikki's shown. Now, this site

[03:17] is used to explain why Nikki is acting like she

[03:23] to mental health issues with there being anxiety,

[03:28] all things Nikki exhibits. Barker explained how

[03:32] how they'll end up being destructive. Also

[03:36] makes you blind and what you'll be willing to

[03:40] Bear is the only perspective that we follow

[03:45] to any other characters. We only ever see things

[03:50] So everything is his self-centered worldview

[03:55] thing. It's the ultimate tale of Be careful

[03:59] we're going to be breaking it all down. Welcome

[04:03] Paul, and my one wish is that you follow us

[04:12] It's a horror that along with back rooms has lit

[04:17] cinema is changing. Made on Omega $750,000, it's

[04:24] all time. Beyond its accomplishments, though, I

[04:28] fact that it's got so much going on with it.

[04:32] miss, and just tons of talking points going on

[04:37] analyze the movie and talk about everything

[04:42] check out our obsession inspired shirts at the

[04:46] spoiler collection that's got lots of shirts

[04:50] got a massive sale running right now for summer

[04:54] this get made. Now, Obsession was written and

[04:58] a sketch comedy channel. That's a bad idea. This

[05:03] Tomlinson who also plays in in this movie. Now

[05:09] make superb horror movies with Zack Greger putting

[05:14] cut his teeth in comedy and I think horror is

[05:20] really good timing, which is something that horror

[05:25] for a second too long, dropping the scare at the

[05:30] timing. Comedy can also lower the audience's

[05:35] it can really heighten the scares. But it's clear

[05:40] And he even said on the Dead Meat podcast that

[05:44] and Peele. Speaking with The New Yorker, Barker

[05:48] with horror movies starting in 2003. That was

[05:54] and it's something that's going to prove

[05:58] of it. But Obsession is a film that I've become

[06:03] we're going to be going through it all. No one on

[06:09] to love someone as much as I love you. Now, we

[06:15] we're supposed to think is Nikki. Well, that is

[06:20] memes flooding the internet. I was actually h on

[06:24] it opening weekend. to air. But yeah, by Monday,

[06:29] a thousand times. Thematically, this also sets

[06:34] into how we'll not really see the real Nikki. The

[06:39] and that's something that's a key point throughout

[06:43] though, but he's keeping up the act he loves her

[06:49] lays the groundwork for everything to come,

[06:53] One thing I like is how he's sitting in a diner

[06:57] of different romcoms, and most notably in When

[07:02] of the table as the restaurant later on, and it

[07:06] he spells his guts, I also feel like he's trying

[07:11] he and Nikki talk about later as we learn she's

[07:15] a romance. One shows though that the pair on

[07:21] different things. Romance to me, if you're asking,

[07:26] there's an excitement and you do gestures to show

[07:32] love is a steady and more meaningful foundation

[07:37] to me, the wish currently makes someone fall

[07:40] there's a romantic connection between you. But

[07:45] so he mistakes romance for that, just like

[07:50] it's not a romance. It's a love story. Isn't that

[07:57] Bear says he doesn't talk like this and almost

[08:01] we see Nikki do later on when the real Nikki wakes

[08:06] also kind of echo what the wish did to Nikki.

[08:11] No, it's okay. Which is something he struggles

[08:15] how he should be acting, but he puts himself back

[08:20] he breaks throughout the movie before fully

[08:25] he's even coaxed along by Ian, who if we seen

[08:30] um you could see Ian as being in the situation.

[08:38] also foreshadows Nikki's mental state. This

[08:42] losing control of himself thinking about Nikki.

[08:47] which ultimately gives him complete power over

[08:51] nice things for him, but in Bear's view, kindness

[08:56] to treat him like a friend and was constantly

[09:01] she's estranged from her dad as well and possibly

[09:05] get to see that he's just talking to a waitress,

[09:10] is all in act. How about the waitress opposite

[09:15] even hooked up with her. There's also the

[09:18] as well. And this is the first hint that he could

[09:22] with someone who loved him back, but he's just

[09:26] if you will. The obsession at this point exists

[09:31] wreck that's constantly thinking about her, even

[09:36] I would choose you over everything. Bear is of

[09:40] completely strips Nikki of her agency and makes

[09:45] uh meant to be a play on that recent question or

[09:50] but about how women would rather be left alone

[09:55] the one, it went viral. But the point is, bears a

[10:00] a predator. So his name highlights the danger that

[10:04] by saying that it's cringey. Ian seems to know

[10:09] this kind of thing. as we learn he's actually been

[10:14] all while coaching Be on how to get with her.

[10:18] sabotaging Be's chances, especially because he

[10:24] Ironb trivia, this is what her bullies used to

[10:28] the nickname. So, yeah, not a good move there.

[10:32] off for him. Upon second viewing though, you

[10:37] as a distinct lack of understanding of who Nikki

[10:42] as he's sleeping with her. However, as she later

[10:47] to provide. The waitress also suggests getting

[10:51] against Ian's advice of just being less sappy.

[10:56] dismisses her by saying, "Flowers, the candy that

[11:06] you. He then pretty rudely h just brushes her

[11:11] Ian. Nikki ends up becoming this to bear as well

[11:16] But like Nikki, the waitress is just a prop for

[11:21] not needed. And I bet they didn't tip her either.

[11:26] do that." No, it's okay. You're okay. just pretend

[11:32] Nikki do things later on. What I like as well is

[11:37] expected Jack Quaid's character and companion, but

[11:44] Ian asks Bear if he's ever even flirted with her

[11:49] He's another dude who mentions romance whereas

[11:53] He then basically says to neg her and this is

[11:59] knows it's going to piss her off. Ian also says

[12:03] quickly replies saying how she always invites Ian.

[12:08] replies with, "Who else is going to be there? I've

[12:14] for." Now Nikki, as we learn, is going through

[12:18] on by constantly going back to the guy who doesn't

[12:24] time." Which is the total opposite of Nikki, who

[12:29] has hinted that just before the movie kicked

[12:33] uh or the entanglement, if you will. Also wondered

[12:39] represents a side of her that's angry that she was

[12:44] also doing the same thing back with his life. But

[12:49] arrested development. And even Sarah is applying

[12:54] way to open up the film though. And as he repeats

[12:59] his dead cat. Talk about the cat uh more in just

[13:04] to it. The reason that I want to focus on this

[13:08] when they were making the movie, we were going to

[13:12] actually going to start with the TV similar to how

[13:16] would be playing on it and the camera would then

[13:21] then mirror the ending where we see Nikki on the

[13:26] Cody thought it would be cool to have the opening

[13:30] test audience reactions. They were also frustrated

[13:36] what it had done to Nikki. How about Barker

[13:41] he didn't want to fix the wish and instead wanted

[13:46] work even though it was hopeless. Either way, the

[13:50] how it says, "Do not eat on the bottom. You're

[13:55] How's the cat supposed to read that?" But for some

[13:59] medicine, including her pulse. It shows how he

[14:04] and very much establishes things with Nikki. also

[14:09] health. The lid's so insecure as well, an animal

[14:14] doesn't close first time, and he was barely

[14:19] death. And that is subtext for Nikki. Bear's

[14:24] though, and his carelessness with the wish causes

[14:28] Wish Nikki is the soul of the cat come back.

[14:33] I've read them. I'm not sure. Uh, but I do think

[14:39] the cat was left in the house on its own, and Bear

[14:44] little regard he has for things that he loves. He

[14:49] showing how he can't let go. Should have let Nikki

[14:53] himself to do it. You can also see the cat as

[14:59] curiosity killed the cat. The cat dies much like

[15:04] one wish Willow and he sets in place a chain of

[15:09] highlight his own issues and explain why he's

[15:13] through this that the name of his grandma was

[15:17] where he takes them to end the curse. But yeah,

[15:22] also see photos of his friend group who are called

[15:26] in the school band, which is also presumably why

[15:31] the photos taken in a photo booth, and the first

[15:36] and forcing her to be there. That is subtext.

[15:41] while Nikki looks pissed off. The third is Bear

[15:46] showing where her heart may possibly lie. The

[15:51] and as we know, he's killed at the end. Sarah is

[15:57] at her death. And Nikki looks angry as Sarah's

[16:02] and basically spells out the plot of the movie.

[16:07] the booth and ruined his moment with Nikki and

[16:11] Michael Johnson's superb as Bear throughout and

[16:17] so well. Also love how the obsession titles

[16:22] bear scrolling through Nikki's Instagram. You

[16:26] Tomlinson who again plays Ian. Really makes you

[16:31] uh like back in the day, back in the day when

[16:35] someone through your phone 24/7. You [ __ ] kids.

[16:41] and like uh we broke up for the summer holidays.

[16:47] I didn't see videos of her, didn't see photos of

[16:52] a healthier way to live. Nowadays though, you can

[16:57] in on your crush. So, the obsession can become

[17:02] every moment of your life and yet also not with

[17:06] not really there and are trapped behind a screen

[17:11] bear and forced to betray the image that he wants.

[17:16] was kismmet. We can also see that he's put love

[17:21] simp move. He instantly smiles though even though

[17:27] seems to be about work. They don't really have

[17:31] seems like they're friends. Now the creative team

[17:35] being where Nikki was into bear and one where she

[17:41] think it adds some ambiguity. bearing the grief of

[17:45] night cuz he is a bit of a mess. Uh, so she then

[17:50] turns out that she's putting her two weeks notice.

[17:55] her reason is that they're running out of time

[17:59] probably hurts more now that Sandy's dead and

[18:04] His cat has just shown how quickly things can be

[18:09] this chance to confess his feelings. Also love

[18:14] tonight's the night and Nikki drops her necklace.

[18:19] crisis and he has no idea what to say. He sort of

[18:24] to be the perfect idea of what he has in his head

[18:29] be normal. Cutting to the new age hippie shop, the

[18:33] and asks why would she even say that. I love the

[18:38] much like Nikki and kind of disconnected from

[18:44] in and out and she's also got a voice in her head.

[18:48] man, which is a folklore figure usually associated

[18:54] around the idea of being careful what you wish for

[18:58] green man to gain glory and notoriety. However,

[19:03] take his penins which ultimately leads to his

[19:07] on a breakdown of the Green Knight movie h that

[19:11] sure you subscribe for that. However, I'm hesitant

[19:16] here as it's actually the name of the location in

[19:20] and you can go there if you want. Beyond that,

[19:25] is a real place as well. You may recognize it from

[19:29] Neil Peresque drum solo and Stairway to Heaven's

[19:34] and she's also played a shop assistant in Barker's

[19:38] necklaces, and he has no idea if she's talking to

[19:43] and how women of this world aren't really engaged

[19:48] in the mirror, showing how at this moment, he's a

[19:53] how Nikki looks when she stands in the corner,

[19:58] the rose quartz attracts love, but he just asks

[20:03] this is known to bring wealth. Don't know if it's

[20:07] Bear wishes for good energy in a way in getting

[20:12] So, maybe it's foreshadowing that, but Bear says

[20:17] it just further shows how she's not fixated on

[20:22] He then sees the very 40s/50s toys that would be

[20:27] in with the art deco clock in his home. It's

[20:32] which Nikki has a tattoo of, a chromoscope,

[20:36] which I can't quite make out. In the middle,

[20:40] McGuffin of the movie. This was actually inspired

[20:45] episode 2. and in that Lisa dreams that Homer had

[20:50] but had unforeseen side effects such as Lisa

[20:55] taken over by Kang and Kronos. That story itself

[21:00] which wishes are granted that have a double-edged

[21:05] for £200 to pay a final mortgage payment only

[21:09] Barker was also inspired by the idea of a what

[21:17] what might happen when people are so obsessed with

[21:23] together. And I will also die on the hill that

[21:28] the one wish Willow is intended to look like a

[21:32] Barker explained that he wanted the mcguffin

[21:37] to the usual creepy horror magic stuff. kind of

[21:43] I don't know like hokey magician thing there. As

[21:48] as the company that makes them is called Tabbyat

[21:52] an omen though and every time there's a cat, it

[21:57] also a phone number which Bear calls later and the

[22:01] Beyond that, Tabby is also not to his YouTube

[22:07] Bear opts to buy the One Wish Willow and the

[22:12] popular ever since they came out. The assistant

[22:16] saying he shouldn't come back and complain if

[22:20] as he tries to find out the truth. He jokes about

[22:25] they wish they were dead or do die, which are all

[22:29] weird demeanor with the shop assistant that

[22:34] is also deeply unsettling in the way it's shot as

[22:40] the top, left, and right. Cinematographer Taylor

[22:45] Fincher, particularly Seven. And lots of this

[22:49] work. One thing I also noticed as well is that

[22:54] $7. Might be a goof. Uh, or it could be because

[23:01] will be a hidden cost. That is subtext. Am I

[23:05] to Barker's pub for trivia night, which is

[23:09] The trivia host is played by Curry's father, who

[23:14] later on. He's actually becoming a screenwriter

[23:18] so expect to see more of him at the table. I also

[23:23] centered while his friends sit around him. He's

[23:28] foreshadowing how he'll be caught in the middle

[23:32] give us a hint at the secret. Red can mean power,

[23:37] Nikki. The yellow of the mustard bottle in front

[23:42] um a color often associated with being a coward.

[23:47] but is hidden by Ian. We also get the hint at

[23:51] been slacking and not tuning the guitars or doing

[23:56] her novel. Meanwhile, Sarah's dad owns the store

[24:01] Bear though, who loves Nikki, who's banging Ian

[24:06] one that leads to them all ending up miserable

[24:11] Bear is going to confess his love, but Nikki

[24:15] we finally see Nikki played by Indie Navarette who

[24:20] from 13 Reasons Why or Superman and Lois.

[24:25] the movie. She's very much meant to be the cute

[24:29] but never auditioned for her and played her more

[24:35] in 500 days of summer, wore a leather jacket or

[24:43] I don't think it's a gay drink. Nikki roasts

[24:47] his feminine side. And I like how even the Borman

[24:51] later on at the party, Bear actually has a beer,

[24:56] should be for her. He does this, he says, because

[24:59] evolution shows that he's trying to become that

[25:04] all day, but we know he's been scrolling through

[25:08] can't even tell Nikki about the cat though shows

[25:13] yeah, she might potentially be put off by the

[25:18] he thinks that she wants. She then says, "Open

[25:23] flustering him. Babe is just one of those terms um

[25:29] just say it as being a friend. Um and I do think

[25:33] saying it to the bowman, he starts secondguessing

[25:37] for her, only to be interrupted again, this

[25:42] or more specifically um Czechov's description of

[25:48] a gun in the breakroom safe. So yeah, that's how

[25:52] and they all do their shots except for Bear who

[25:56] he doesn't like alcohol. Ian and Nikki then run

[26:02] He actually confides in the character who offers

[26:07] on an act, but he's just too obsessed with Nikki.

[26:11] on in the car as well, which when he tells her, I

[26:17] back to their table, we also see Nikki take Ian's

[26:22] there. When they leave, it's nowhere to be seen,

[26:26] things close to him behind. He then says that he

[26:30] bed and begs Ian to take her home. Highlights how

[26:35] different things and ultimately aren't on the

[26:39] instead. And we watch as Nikki goes and gives

[26:45] $20. She takes it from Sarah and then gives it

[26:50] But Bear is blinded by love and he loves her for

[26:56] and he's kind of missing the thing that's right

[27:00] "Get your girl home safe." And Nikki says, "Get

[27:05] And I thought the worst thing she could say is,

[27:10] to call when the loss of his cat finally hits. She

[27:15] what she said. Nikki then says she's not happy

[27:20] bear though, this is the place he gets to be with

[27:24] work. It shows how different they are, though, and

[27:29] him. To write her story, she needs to feel loved

[27:33] jaded by things with Ian. This is where they

[27:37] script actually had a longer monologue here that

[27:41] "I don't think romance is real. I think love is

[27:46] Then your parents split or they're so miserable

[27:50] love fades, it's a mirage. They're wrong. Romance

[27:56] I want to write. The good, the bad, the ugly. Real

[28:02] says that Be's the only person she can talk to

[28:06] wall. This is why I feel her life changes due to

[28:12] nothing in common with. This is why I feel

[28:15] especially as she tries to pro him to find out

[28:20] a friend and Nikki says that when she has a crush

[28:26] knew she was banging Ian. However, I feel like

[28:31] make it obvious, she does actually like Bear. Do

[28:37] to tell me. She wants him to step up though and

[28:42] to. Now, look, I know there's people who disagree

[28:47] reject him, but I don't know. Um doing it the day

[28:53] my interpretation is that she's asking him

[28:57] and then. But his failure to do so is ultimately

[29:03] the pair would have potentially got together,

[29:06] wish for it even more pathetic. Ian even says in

[29:12] he misses the chance here and then does something

[29:17] had what he wanted there and then. Uh, so yeah,

[29:21] of people that think the opposite. I can totally

[29:26] just look at her face when he says they're good

[29:32] fantastic use of music here as well as he tells a

[29:36] It plays and slowly builds up, but cuts sharply

[29:42] though, it's like one of his core memories. Uh,

[29:47] a Hail Mary, he then calls her Freaky Nikki,

[29:52] cruel. Expect that Ian has been talking about Be

[29:57] is something she recognized as Ian's idea. He then

[30:02] actually inspired by a pen that Bock used to play

[30:06] cactus. The willow tree is also commonly connected

[30:11] branches of it are used in a lot of stuff dealing

[30:16] that allowed the witch to control people made from

[30:20] music then cuts as it breaks and she comes to the

[30:25] something's off with her as well as she says she

[30:30] jumble. I do even wonder as well if she's merging

[30:35] up bringing the cat up. She then asks if he wants

[30:40] weird. Now, I feel like the entity at this point

[30:44] fully taken over. Nikki is still able to break

[30:50] kind of acting weird. She even laughs at first and

[30:56] horror becomes clear. This is something that gets

[31:01] a backseat passenger in her own brain much like

[31:06] me a lot of Hereditary, which is also a film about

[31:10] sight in Bear's room, much like the grandmother

[31:15] what's happening on autopilot similar to Peter

[31:19] crying from Ari assa's other movie Midsar and

[31:24] working though Nikki is a lot different and India

[31:29] the X trilogy I personally feel that she's the

[31:33] where she absolutely loses it as she goes to the

[31:38] makes things far more unsettling so far we've

[31:44] we kind of having this missing is a bit unnerving.

[31:50] crouches down smiling, which is even freakier. She

[31:56] creepy thing about this is how she's acting

[32:01] back and clearly creeped out, even though this was

[32:06] he knows he wanted something genuine rather than

[32:11] gone from a self- assured layered person to a

[32:17] Bear refuses to go in or take her to his house

[32:22] manipulation. It invents a story about her dad

[32:27] her in this state. If you ever seen uh like 5,000

[32:33] the fakers will often use a cancer diagnosis to

[32:38] basically keeps them on the hook and stops them

[32:43] leave someone in that state? But the entity acts

[32:49] by using any means necessary. Sadly, because Be's

[32:54] question the story. Arriving at the house, we can

[32:59] being like a bit disappointed. However, the entity

[33:05] around the house saying that it's nice. He then

[33:10] music builds up again when we think there's going

[33:15] in bed with her. She then takes off her top as he

[33:20] makes the juxosition between that and the poster

[33:24] the song televisions by current Joyce. She starts

[33:29] sudden she snaps out and the real Nikki takes over

[33:34] how she doesn't want to go through with this, but

[33:39] stopping the whole thing at this moment and trying

[33:43] downplaying how bad it is. Nikki even tries to

[33:48] it and that this situation wasn't his fault.

[33:53] situation even though she's really the victim,

[33:58] stuff, you'll see the victims often end up doing

[34:03] sorry, blaming the outburst on a panic attack. She

[34:08] sympathy, but Bear is clearly shook and he decides

[34:13] bottom over his head, kind of showing how she's

[34:17] the one wish Willow and we see he's using a Google

[34:23] Reddit comes up as well and this movie's version

[34:28] the one wish Willow is a Mandela effect and this

[34:32] also calls it a collectible sensation. That's

[34:37] some collectors just keep it sealed. Like a real

[34:42] answers and one username is called Bernsteeen

[34:48] effect case in which people debate the spelling.

[34:52] but I think it's likely because of the bear

[34:56] you disagree. You also see someone mentioned that

[35:00] he seemed a bit weird. And this might be a reach,

[35:05] a reference to Barker's previous movie and cereal

[35:10] yeah, with it being Barker on the phone as well,

[35:14] laptop, goes back to Nikki, and seemingly shrugs

[35:20] shares his bed with her and wakes up to find that

[35:24] Uh, this is just completely normal as it has no

[35:30] what love is is completely blurred in its mind

[35:35] inappropriate for something that you love. The

[35:39] and it further plays in the obsessive worship that

[35:44] you can also see her weird fast movements that she

[35:49] and it further highlights that something isn't

[35:54] together and though she seems normal, things start

[36:00] the boss for using the word Karen in a derogatory

[36:04] thinking his mate got his end away. The framing is

[36:09] chat, Nikki slowly goes behind the counter and

[36:14] between asking if he slept over as well, he also

[36:18] thunder until Bear looks at her and she does a

[36:24] he's afraid of what Sarah is going to do, hinting

[36:29] me wonder why he didn't just nudge his pal towards

[36:35] that he doesn't really care about women's

[36:39] going through something, but doesn't bring up the

[36:44] has cancer. Well, not the fact, but you know what

[36:48] and on a second watch, we immediately know why.

[36:54] and the fact she's never brought it up just seems

[36:59] has that Be's taking advantage of Nikki later on

[37:04] with her. But yeah, he's the one taking advantage

[37:09] how though the background's blurry, you can

[37:13] Ian then theorizes she might be on Molly again

[37:19] he's going there to get the truth as she probably

[37:23] the end of the shift and Bear says he can't

[37:27] Seems very strange on the surface though, but does

[37:33] link for her for 2 years. They then talk on the

[37:37] of Molly that we mentioned before. This is through

[37:42] considering genies are known for granting wishes.

[37:47] quite interesting as well. We can see that he's

[37:52] Part of me even wonders if he actually hastened

[37:57] week. He's also asked how to know if you've been

[38:02] and how to woo a girl. He also looked up how to

[38:08] song for the movie as it's all about anxiety. We

[38:14] looking all nice and says she shouldn't have taken

[38:18] take advantage of her which is probably something

[38:23] her home. It's also trying to make him lose his

[38:28] about their relationship. We then get confirmation

[38:32] even been confirmed to her by Ian trying to mess

[38:37] things for him around Christmas, which might be

[38:42] We then get a perfect romance movie montage where

[38:46] and it looks like everything that Bears ever

[38:52] know, your classic romcom montage. It's like the

[38:57] the lust fades and you either make or break for

[39:02] Bear can't deal with all of Nikki's obsession

[39:07] pair kissing which you could chalk down to him

[39:12] time. It's also the read that he's concerned as

[39:17] he's wondering if something is going on with her,

[39:23] then see them looking at a post which appears to

[39:27] a sweater." Now, I can't tell if this is just

[39:31] but it's something that seems very sweet on the

[39:36] wears some of Sarah's skin, which this moment

[39:42] um, which is obviously a copy of a human's

[39:47] uh, which is in a way much like Wish Nikki. shows

[39:52] just like the waitress at the start to bear though

[39:57] him which is very sad to see and Sarah even looks

[40:03] him as they watch TV and he moves her head back

[40:07] her obsessions getting in the way of things for

[40:12] that's that fixated on him cut to the restaurant

[40:17] is some great writing as well as after bear

[40:21] much reverence for their time in school. Here

[40:26] earlier as well, the couple are in the same

[40:29] and we see what happens when Bear tries to break

[40:34] and he says he's been told he's a private person.

[40:38] closed book, which is something that she referred

[40:42] that they're separate entities and that Wish Nikki

[40:47] says he wants to be a food critic as a joke, which

[40:51] puts his cat in his pack lunch clutch. He then

[40:54] that Nikki's dad isn't ill. Again, the framing

[40:59] the whole time as Bear walks closer to the camera.

[41:04] shot before and just an evolution of how she's

[41:09] also in front of a tree carving, which is there to

[41:14] that Nikki tells Sarah she friend-zoned Bear and

[41:19] she then gives him a tiger's eye that's been

[41:23] interesting as well as Bear originally went to

[41:27] with Willow and said Nikki would hate that. So,

[41:32] her which he should pick up. Plus, there's like a

[41:37] and yeah, this is someone that she's only been

[41:41] brings confidence and willpower and it's clearly

[41:46] might empower her to come back. He then realizes

[41:51] loves him more than anyone in the world. This goes

[41:56] she becomes enraged and we get that instant

[42:02] this no is actually the real Nikki saying no

[42:08] the entity then takes over, makes it weird, and

[42:14] break the illusion, sends her off the deep end,

[42:19] though, he just agrees that it doesn't matter,

[42:24] [ __ ] harrowing. Uh, as she's just completely

[42:28] much like the real Nikki's going through.

[42:32] of the movie, though. Um, and yeah, just very,

[42:37] And you know why you cheeky booger. On her wrist

[42:41] which is supposed to represent protection from

[42:46] and no matter what she does, she's not getting rid

[42:51] with a face messed up like we touched upon before.

[42:57] run about the room holding a plant pot in front

[43:01] when the mask starts to slip and to keep Bear

[43:06] she then screams, "Stay!" Apparently, Never had

[43:14] actually have a higher vocal register. Bear then

[43:19] which yeah, to be fair, your trim is scuffed.

[43:24] and the obsession is making her try and inflict

[43:30] though, and is actually annoyed that she's doing

[43:34] you're doing? Let's not do that. During this, he

[43:40] book. Uh, but you might notice that the book's

[43:45] love the lingering shot of her and the characters

[43:48] his sketches, then you'll know it's something he

[43:53] horror. He then says she had a bad dream and

[43:58] reminds me a lot of Alien after Kane got the

[44:02] something trying to appease him. She then does

[44:06] end of Pearl. In fact, that movie's credits show

[44:11] movie ends with a now unpossessed Nikki crying

[44:16] pair then kiss and he's disarmed once more giving

[44:22] this work and hilariously he cuts her off as she

[44:27] the restaurant, like it was cute when he wanted

[44:32] bored with it. He's built up this ideal Nikki in

[44:38] Instead though, he's got an obsessed crazy

[44:42] to deal with her warts and all. And again, be

[44:47] where Bear sees that she's taped the front door

[44:52] only Bear's reaction. Barker explained that the

[44:57] made of tape and only a few parts were actually

[45:01] piece. Nikki just wants him to stay home the whole

[45:06] She's kind of become um a bit like a pet or a cat.

[45:12] doesn't really have anything else to occupy her.

[45:17] which is how he finds her when he comes home. It's

[45:23] her to scuttle off, but see how her life's nothing

[45:28] frozen in place, symbolizing the fake image that

[45:33] and doesn't want to move as Bear is the only

[45:39] get together and sometimes isolate themselves and

[45:45] causes friction amongst your friends. And that's

[45:49] the party as he's now a part package with Nikki at

[45:55] I think might be his childhood one as there's a

[46:00] which she took in secret but it gets even weirder

[46:05] asleep and this is clearly a cry for help as we

[46:10] is basically spelling out to him that they'll like

[46:15] her own free will. as he starts to be creeped out.

[46:20] and not willing to wait. Now though this is about

[46:25] reference to how Bear took a shortcut and skip

[46:31] way. It's also funny how he's sitting there

[46:36] calling back to how he just used the waitress at

[46:40] a party and he confronts her over what she said to

[46:45] for two years almost gets revealed here, but she's

[46:50] into another art school and her dad just coldy

[46:55] Bear used his one wish for something selfish when

[47:00] go and realize her dreams. This is something

[47:04] wish to free Nikki, he just wishes for money for

[47:10] down in the dumps and she rests her head on bears.

[47:14] lunch. Gets revealed that his sandwich is a sand

[47:20] have done that joke a lot better. There is a good

[47:24] H but the revolution makes him puke in the bin.

[47:29] him further choosing to ignore the truth rather

[47:33] the night after the shift which is completely

[47:37] bare and he's all alone playing in in the feeling

[47:42] by him. But unfortunately he can't tell anyone.

[47:48] even more alone than before. Ian then asks for a

[47:52] car had an engine light. However, I feel this is

[47:58] to Bear. Ian knew his friend would give him a lift

[48:03] Bear is adamant though that Nikki is fine after

[48:07] told it looks like he's taking advantage of

[48:11] This is also why he didn't invite him over and he

[48:16] would just be a boy's night. But yeah, Sarah has

[48:22] He then attempts to rehearse what he's going to

[48:26] can't come to the boys night. Just before he gets

[48:30] plays and he decides to call the customer service

[48:34] Curry Baker. And I love how the guy on the phone

[48:39] nonchalant. And I've also been there during a call

[48:44] you'd like to cancel your wish? No. No. No. No.

[48:50] that that was basically his one chance to cancel

[48:56] The fact he says no though means that he can't and

[49:02] making it sound like I could put in a request.

[49:07] It's a hilarious exchange though. But the guy says

[49:12] make it any less real. He also says if Bear dies,

[49:17] he has a moral obligation to be there for her,

[49:21] his bed. We then get confirmation that the person

[49:26] currently being get outed. The guy on the phone

[49:31] hear her screaming in agony. You want to talk to

[49:41] parts of the movie as I just imagine what she

[49:46] clearly watching everything happening in front

[49:51] from a couple years ago where it said um said a

[49:56] earth's core and upon putting down a microphone

[50:06] and that has stuck with me for a long long time.

[50:11] that Wish Nikki's been waiting in the living room.

[50:14] now as she's messed herself up and clearly needs

[50:20] upset over his cat like it's nothing. However,

[50:24] the boy's night and then screams when he tries to

[50:29] going and Bear caves into just letting her come

[50:33] store and they play drinking Jenga. Now, a bit of

[50:38] actually burned down after filming due to the

[50:43] to the movie and we watch as one of the dudes and

[50:48] was all a plan to separate the pair, as everyone

[50:52] We also don't see what her forfeit is, but seems

[50:57] revealing something embarrassing. I expect the

[51:02] intoxicated and then lose control, similar to when

[51:07] we think Nikki did like Bear, but there have

[51:12] mentioned earlier, this poem was written by Curry

[51:16] Gredle. In it, the pair have grown up and now

[51:21] Previously, you know, the pair would just brother

[51:25] as like the friendship between Nikki and Bear. In

[51:31] that it's wrong. But Gretle says how she'd flail

[51:36] wasn't really into Bear and that she was then

[51:40] this as Nikki apparently said she sees Belle like

[51:45] her to love her and thus she feels wrong. There's

[51:50] writing and how she will force Bear to be with

[51:56] who knows things are wrong and Nikki will cause a

[52:01] though, but yeah, Indie is absolutely captivating

[52:07] excellently. The story also mentions that love

[52:11] conjure. So I do think this is more likely entity

[52:17] totally silent and she says it's a new book she's

[52:21] more likely that it's Entity Nikki and how it

[52:26] after this she asks him to kill her. It's Bear's

[52:31] the guy swapping places with him. However, they

[52:35] was Bears. And had he picked this, then he would

[52:40] left. I do wonder as well what might have ended

[52:45] some alternative version out there where we see

[52:50] Bear has to kiss the person to his left, which

[52:54] never let that happen and stands up frowning,

[52:59] excellent in a meme on the internet. also feel

[53:04] guy who's even entertaining kissing someone else.

[53:10] pursing out her lips. She's now also removing his

[53:16] hey, maybe you should think about that more, mate.

[53:21] Having never felt the love they do. She then says

[53:25] I'm not." And this freaks everyone out, especially

[53:35] She then smashes her head like the like

[53:39] are so funny. And even when they drive to

[53:43] completely ignoring what just happened, which

[53:48] Bear argues as we just see her get out

[53:52] and she just wants to stand outside. He then asks

[53:58] how Sarah likes him. We then see how he just

[54:02] how beautiful she was. It's not how smart and how

[54:08] and now she's damaged her face. He hasn't even put

[54:14] he's more down in the dumps for himself than he is

[54:19] more annoyed at her than he is at himself. He then

[54:25] she says, "I'm your freaky Nikki." This of course

[54:31] of her as it's something she'd never actually

[54:36] but what Bear wants is for the real Nikki to like

[54:40] it at all and that if you know something's fake,

[54:45] um that we've mentioned before when talking about

[54:50] world. In it, this basically gave people a choice

[54:55] with all its ups and downs or live in a simulation

[55:00] chose reality, and it's something that I think

[55:05] unhinged backward walk and according to the script

[55:10] just in self-preservation mode, though, and this

[55:15] of the movie. Bear then offers to let her have the

[55:19] using that as a way to manipulate him. And another

[55:25] as the voice on the phone said, he has a moral

[55:29] a very poetic way of describing her death and

[55:34] feel like sand and this will just wash over her

[55:41] in that it's almost comforting. It's what makes

[55:51] Or you could stay. Sarah then texts Bear. She

[55:57] I'm not sure how good of an idea it is to meet uh

[56:02] a car park. It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's

[56:06] Nikki pleads for him to kill her, and it's

[56:11] Someone pleading for death must be in complete

[56:17] but he simply doesn't care. He then says, "What

[56:22] says she's never been with him. Again, this

[56:26] as wish Nikki is a completely different person.

[56:31] the actual Nikki he wanted and instead has been

[56:36] something evil. At this point, I think he fully

[56:41] despite Nikki's pleading. He realizes just how

[56:47] talk to another girl. Bear then tells Sarah that

[56:51] even though he knows it's a lie. He's using

[56:56] because he knows she won't look further into it

[57:00] as well as Sarah says Nikki needs therapy and

[57:05] It's vastly different from Ian who insinuates

[57:10] been secretly sleeping with Nikki while Sarah

[57:15] different perspectives. It also shows that Ian

[57:19] the one taking advantage. And it does indicate

[57:25] on how to date her. Sarah has also got her last

[57:31] interesting wording as this is her last chance

[57:36] Earth. He then says he has sleeping pills which

[57:41] wonder if he somehow slipped them to Nikki.

[57:45] in the corner. So I think the sleeping pills

[57:50] it's another form of control. Sarah then breaks

[57:55] however, it wasn't romantic. She then hints that

[58:00] which she is here to as well. And there were

[58:03] filmed and Barker said to Polygon that there was

[58:08] him. He said it would have been heart-wrenching

[58:12] which is really interesting, but I do prefer the

[58:17] kept ambiguous. Barker explained in that interview

[58:22] date. Hence why he's pushing his best friend

[58:26] though by Nikki, who arrives and smashes Sarah

[58:31] Barker's previous film, Milk and Cereal, uh, where

[58:36] but I love the way that the horn kind of honks

[58:41] death that takes the film to the next level. Niggy

[58:46] but it's what he wanted. She blames him and says

[58:51] could then try and get out of this again and turn

[58:56] just very passive about the whole thing. They

[59:01] then Bear heads home. He stops to open the letter

[59:06] fact accepted by the art school. His selfishness

[59:11] just as Nikki's now missing out on hers. I love

[59:17] And yeah, just a horrendous way for her life to

[59:22] man and tries to find the one wish Willows. This

[59:27] assistant pretends that they just don't exist.

[59:32] complaints and yeah, when a guy comes covered in

[59:37] how they can sell this to people, but is told that

[59:42] not them making the wishes. The person who buys

[59:48] reverse his wish. And we then get a cut where he

[59:53] him having to face up to what he's become. We

[59:58] love to know what he wished for. Maybe more one

[1:00:04] item itself isn't cursed 100% as you can word your

[1:00:10] obviously going to backfire. He then tells Bear

[1:00:15] do it for him, but as we see, she just wishes to

[1:00:21] though, he then goes to Ian, and we learn Nikki's

[1:00:26] see how that works out in just a bit. Going to

[1:00:30] to get him to go around and remove him from Bear's

[1:00:35] will often remove them from those around them,

[1:00:40] Bear then reveals the one wish Willow and gives

[1:00:44] wish. Selfishly though, he chooses a $1 billion

[1:00:50] ultimately, this is what leads to his death. And

[1:00:54] practically using platforms, which is such a cool

[1:00:59] also survive after Ian's death. And Barker did

[1:01:04] a billion dollars in cash is uh you know, a a lot

[1:01:10] money would just come falling down and crush him,

[1:01:14] around, but ultimately he doesn't get to spend

[1:01:19] weird shrine for him, and the lotion bottle is in

[1:01:24] walks behind him like long legs as he tries to

[1:01:28] she's turned herself into Sarah, complete with

[1:01:32] even wearing Sarah's scalp complete with her

[1:01:37] quickly turns into the exorcist when Nikki starts

[1:01:42] but we know there's only one way out of this and

[1:01:47] being feral at the door and then uh yeah, just

[1:01:52] wants to hear. And when it comes to his death, he

[1:01:56] psych himself up with his gun and rubs his chest

[1:02:01] Charlie prepping himself to be stabbed in Scream

[1:02:05] is again I think an homage to milk and cereal. He

[1:02:11] brave. He then takes the pills but can't really go

[1:02:16] puke. So even that he's not able to fully follow

[1:02:21] But during this Nikki has made her wish, which

[1:02:29] He then goes out and I love how

[1:02:32] other. And it reminds me a

[1:02:41] That is such a random reference from things I

[1:02:46] camera then pans down to the wish and Bear finally

[1:02:54] to be a romantic movie, but it's actually a video

[1:02:59] shooting herself, unlike Bear, Nikki comes too

[1:03:04] friends. Now, Barkcat has confirmed that she'll

[1:03:08] an openandshot case. Bear also reflects his cat

[1:03:13] having taken the pills. It's also really a homage

[1:03:20] that Romeo thinks Juliet's dead only for him to

[1:03:25] though and she'd taken a potion that basically

[1:03:30] he'd done and then also takes the poison herself

[1:03:35] haven't seen it in a while. But yeah, for the

[1:03:39] was going to die as well at one point. Barker's

[1:03:44] though, and honestly, it's probably worse. Not

[1:03:49] gone through, but she also has to deal with

[1:03:53] learn about her fate in his next movie, Anything

[1:03:58] the movie takes place in the same universe as

[1:04:02] And apparently, she'll end up being charged with

[1:04:07] well, though. Um, so yeah, can't wait to see what

[1:04:11] Aaron Paul and Bryce Dallas Howard. So yeah,

[1:04:16] what we know, um, that follows fake paranormal

[1:04:21] are real. Oh, what? Ghosts are real. What? What is

[1:04:29] yeah, I can't wait to see that. Also, I kind of

[1:04:34] and all of his employees. But overall, I think the

[1:04:39] genre as it's been a decent year with Bone Temple,

[1:04:45] well. It's also Evil Dead Burn coming, Craig's

[1:04:51] eating good. Anyway, that wraps up the video and
