The video is a playthrough of the indie roguelike game 'System 21', where the player takes on the role of a casino computer tasked with rigging blackjack games to meet profit quotas while managing suspicion. The creator demonstrates the core mechanics of card manipulation, discusses strategies for managing player hype and heat, and offers a critical review of the game's pacing and player progression.
The game is a roguelike where you are a casino computer rigging blackjack games. You act as the dealer, and patrons bet against you; their losses are your profit.
The player deals cards from a draw queue, sees the top card, and can manipulate the deck. The patron bets money each round, and the goal is to hit a profit quota.
The game explains blackjack simply: closest to 21 wins, over 21 busts. The dealer (player) must hit on 16 or less and stand on 17 or higher.
The player can delete cards from the queue or invert them to change the outcome. Each cheat increases suspicion, and reaching 100 suspicion ends the run.
Heat is the tax for cheating; different actions cost different amounts of heat. The player must balance cheating with managing suspicion to survive.
After training, the player deploys to production with four decks and three seats. Upgrades like seeing deeper into the draw pile are available.
Different patron types (regulars, tourists, by-the-book players) have unique behaviors and hype mechanics. Regulars bet smaller after losses, tourists press bigger after wins.
Managing patron hype is crucial. A regular win restores hype to other regulars, but if a patron's hype drops too low, they leave, and you lose their benefits.
Rounds without cheating fill a block, and after three such rounds, heat is reduced significantly. This encourages strategic use of cheats.
Between shifts, the player can visit a shop to buy upgrades, such as seeing further into the draw pile, or sell items for money.
The demo ends after one cycle. The creator notes the game is fun but criticizes the pacing, saying the player doesn't get enough 'juice' or power quickly enough.
System 21 is a promising indie roguelike with a unique premise and satisfying puzzle mechanics, but it suffers from pacing issues where the player doesn't feel powerful enough early on. The creator recommends it for fans of puzzle games and roguelikes.
Unique Premise
The concept of playing as a rigging computer is fresh and immediately engaging.
00:03Cheating as Core Mechanic
The delete and invert mechanics are central to gameplay, adding strategic depth.
02:42Hype Management
Balancing patron hype is a key strategy, showing the game's depth beyond simple card play.
12:19Pacing Critique
The creator's critique highlights a potential flaw in game design: slow player progression.
41:42[00:03] 21, a rogike where you are a casino computer tasked with rigging the computer tasked with rigging the blackjack games. So hey, sounds very Steam. That's what we're checking out. So in we are going to go. You are the
[00:17] dealer. Everyone here is playing against you. This is a patron. They bet against Yeah, they bet money against you every round. Their losses are your profit. Hit the quota to survive. This is the draw queue. Cards deal from here. Top to
[00:32] first. You can see it, they cannot. The patron bets 40 bucks. Press this to advance the table. So, we deal them the eight. We deal us the seven. Yeah, we just go back and forth here. So, we have a nine. Interestingly,
[00:48] it does hide it from us, even though like we do literally know what it is. The patron has 14. Closest to 21 wins. If you're over 21, you bust. If you don't know blackjack, literally the
[01:00] whole game is summed up by these two sentences right here. I mean, you know, closest to 21 wins over 21 bust. They get to choose if they want to take an extra hit, an extra card, or if they want to stay. Uh, dealers, I think,
[01:14] typically have requirements so that it's like automated. You're not playing against like a real person. You're playing against like a rule structure, basically. Anyway, they want another card. hit. Uh, all right, buddy. So,
[01:29] going to go to 24 and they're going to lose. Sure. Their bet is yours. Your turn. You have no choice but to hit on a 16 or less and no choice but to hit on a 16 or less and stand on a 17 or plus or higher. Uh, so,
[01:44] okay. So, yeah, that is just the rules for us. But as long as we have as long as we don't go over 21, we would win that there. So, there's that. We take their cash. I do see a couple other buttons here.
[02:01] $40 extracted. Those rules cut both ways. Deal the round. Watch what happens. King 10 10 six for us. We're at 16. They
[02:13] stand at 20. So we are going to hit at 16. We're going to go to 18. And we're going to be forced to stay. So there we uh we stay
[02:25] at 18, we lose obviously, you know. Oh well, it's a bummer. Minus 40. The rules just robbed you unless we cheat. The queue is not sacred. Deal until the fatal card shows.
[02:42] I mean, font is quite tiny tiny. So we got queen 10, they take a 10, we take the six, and then I guess we're going to be deleting this king. So, we get a five. The king is on top. 16 + 10 equals 26. Thank you for the math. You bust and
[02:56] 26. Thank you for the math. You bust and pay. So, delete the king. So, the five is now next. We get 21. We cheat. We win.
[03:08] Gotcha. Gotcha. The house wins. Path rewritten. Every rewrite leaves a trace. Suspicion at 100 will end the run.
[03:21] Okay. Deal until you need the card under the Deal until you need the card under the card.
[03:33] here. Three on top is a 19. You lose under it is a five. under it is a five. Invert. six. What? Realistically, why would we not? I mean, like, sure, it's the
[03:49] me, but like, is there a reason why we wouldn't just want to delete this and take the five because it seems cheaper. I don't know. Heat climbs invert costs more than deletes.
[04:03] Yes, I do see that, which is why I would have deleted instead, but okay. All have deleted instead, but okay. All right. 21 money. House wins again. Heat is the tax.
[04:19] All right, so now we got a couple one real round. The quota is 300. Everything is unlocked. Play freely. Use delete and invert if you need them. Okay, so we have We could look ahead a bit and plan stuff. We got 395.
[04:35] Eh, they're going to be at 13. I mean, I think we just need to deal out theirs and then we'll work from there. Okay, so five, but yeah, 13 15. I mean, we could leave them at 15
[04:51] and it's not that big of a deal. I don't really want you to be at um I really I don't really want you to be at 19.
[05:07] Is it worth deleting the queen? Probably. Then we get a two. I mean, this is awkward, but like I don't really want them at 19. That makes things a little bit tighter for us. We're at seven. I hate that we
[05:19] have to like remember because it just we know we know that it's seven. So, okay. to look at it again. All right. I mean, uh we can take we can
[05:32] All right. I mean, uh we can take we can go up to 15. That's totally fine. hitting to 17.
[05:44] hitting to 17. I don't want this nine. I guess we're going to just have to delete again. Stay at 18. I think we'll want to invert because then we give them the nine.
[05:59] What? We We stay at 18. We give them the nine, they bust. Give them the six, nine, they bust. Give them the six, they're at 19.
[06:11] I mean, we have to like we have to cheat a lot in order to make this um work. Oh, wait. They stayed. Okay. I was going to say, what's going on? Okay, so they stayed at 13. I thought it was just saying like you
[06:25] have to go until uh until you max out there. didn't actually have to cheat that much. We could have uh got away with that cheaper, but whatever. It's training is done. Deploy to production. Okay. Band
[06:39] done. Deploy to production. Okay. Band the UI. I like it. It's very very primary. [laughter] You're the dealer for the house. Patrons lose. Both you and the house profit. Hit the quota without maxing suspicion. Four
[06:52] decks, three seats. You have delete and invert. Implying that there's other invert. Implying that there's other loadouts here. Clearly there is um array view depth plus one. See further into the draw pile. Okay. So currently
[07:06] we can only like normally we can only see one and then this is making it so we definitely going to be a way to get upgrades. Displays hand totals on patron terminals.
[07:21] Is that like really required? Regular burns less hype after a loss. Regulars bet 20% smaller
[07:35] after three rounds live. After a loss, they double one step further. A regular they double one step further. A regular win restores hype. Interesting. Okay. Is this their hype meter or is this just like their color? I don't know.
[07:51] Anyway, execute next turn. We got a third uh a third by the book player. about this? I guess I just don't get to know.
[08:05] I can see what they've done specifically, but I can't see like the rules about Okay. about buy the book players. Understood. Give you a two, give you a six,
[08:19] give you a four. Like I feel like I don't need to adjust too much because we don't we don't have a lot we get to do here. Bringing you up to a 12. I mean it's a little awkward which is nice.
[08:35] Throw you the nine at 15. I don't really want to put myself at 12 either. invert these. We could take the ace in blackjack. It is either a one or an 11. blackjack. It is either a one or an 11. Whatever is better for you. So, I I
[08:50] would prefer having the ace. So, we could do that. And then we put them at a 14, which is a pretty bad spot, but I don't know if I need to burn
[09:03] spot, but I don't know if I need to burn or not yet. Like, we could just delete. I could just delete for cheaper so that they don't get the ace have a nine hit. Uh, okay. We can give them an ace.
[09:19] They're at 13 because there it doesn't go over. And then if trust the chart go over. And then if trust the chart wants a hit, they stand. Okay. Stand. Oh, thank God you stood because uh [laughter] because that was about to be
[09:32] [laughter] because that was about to be 21. All right. So, we take this seven. 21. All right. So, we take this seven. We're at fif 15 16. We win. But I I do We're at fif 15 16. We win. But I I do think that um Tai will go to me in
[09:45] situations, but we have to hit until we hit 17 anyways. Even though we are like already winning, we still have to follow that rule. So, we are going to go ahead and hit again and we're fine. We're we're good. But we
[09:57] and we're fine. We're we're good. But we could have deleted things if need be. Did I need to delete that ace in hindsight? Probably not. But we took a lot of their money there. Their hype is going down. But I think
[10:10] we're going to have to like have them win some. We're going to need them to win some otherwise they're going to leave. otherwise they're going to leave. Gotcha. Gotcha. Give you an ace. I mean,
[10:28] we could try and be strategic with it and just give them a win when it's um and just give them a win when it's um pretty low like payout or whatever. I mean, the thing is, you're already going to be at 19. Like, like I said, I
[10:42] do kind of need to give them some wins, so could have some of them win and some of them lose. It's not the end of the world. 16 is awkward. God, 18. I mean, I'll
[10:56] just have to rig like a crazy hand if I want to win this one, invert because it's still a nine over there anyways.
[11:12] So, you're going to stand. Stand. Yeah. I mean, this is extremely logical. Split. Oh, they're splitting. So, they're going to go for two separate they're going to go for two separate ones. Oh, that sucks.
[11:29] here. It's 100 bucks.
[11:42] at least. Probably. I'm going to do it though. Like he's got too much going on though. Like he's got too much going on here. Standing on the 15. We'll give him the seven. What are we at? We We get to look right, dude.
[12:03] were probably worth it. But again, their morale is going to be pretty shot. Do we get a watch code then? Yeah. So, you are at risk of leaving.
[12:19] House wins 48. Kind of want to keep you. A regular A regular win restores six hype to every other regular in the mix. hype to every other regular in the mix. So,
[12:35] but the issue is they they keep on doubling their own value. My question that I have in regards to the hype here says restore six hype. How the hype here says restore six hype. How do I know what six hype is?
[12:52] does it? I like I get that you're low hype. How much do you lose? How much hype do you lose? I really wish I could know that. Anyway, I'm going to let somebody win. Probably should have you win the good, which is good because
[13:07] win the good, which is good because giving you a jack is like pretty good setup for that. Then we have this five. Do I need to Then we have this five. Do I need to invert this?
[13:24] Shuffling adds heat. Exploits cost slightly less. Even fewer patrons peaking heats you faster. Tougher players sit down.
[13:38] Exploits cost even less. Cost less heat. One Q card lost every round. See less of the queue. I mean, those start to they start to suck. I can't lie. Okay.
[13:52] Yeah. Like, I'm fine to give you the eight. God. All right. Fine. Take the five. I guess what I could I could just I could guess what I could I could just I could intentionally throw.
[14:29] so this is already pretty bad. I could get you up to 17, Doesn't matter if you're at 17 or if you're at at 25, you lose either way.
[14:45] And then we put you at 17. I mean, it's going to be another clean sweep round, but that's kind of a problem cuz this guy's totally leaving. He's got cuz this guy's totally leaving. He's got He has to leave.
[15:02] a regular. So basically if we um we lose this effect. Gotcha. We'll lose that effect if one of them leaves. I'm just really wondering how
[15:17] this. I'mware. [music] How much How much should I value tossing here? Each round without a delete or an invert fills a block. Third events big heat.
[15:33] Okay, so we can actually Okay, that's good to know. We We could just send a good to know. We We could just send a round with no um I'm I'm willing to put my thumb on the scale like pretty hard here. Oh, Jesus Christ, man.
[15:54] we can get there, though. Like, this is brutal. But we're doing all of that just to deal this one guy a all of that just to deal this one guy a win. But I got to tell you, sure. Hit.
[16:20] We're still beating this one guy, which I think is fine. So, we lost here, which is good. So, you're going to basically regain
[16:33] some sanity, which also gives this guy a little bit of sanity. Ideally, we have this guy when he's up to 192.
[16:55] All right. Queen 74. I mean, let's see if we can just um let this ride. if we can just um let this ride. 10 13 on my end is pretty bad. Stand.
[17:07] Good. Hit. Okay. Am I fine with letting them win here? I think I have to be.
[17:24] I mean, I'd have to I'd have to trash a lot of stuff here.
[17:36] going to lose out on so much here. But like I think I just have to accept this like I think I just have to accept this loss. We'll reset things. We'll drop our heat. This is unbelievably terrible, obviously. But everyone's happy, I
[17:51] obviously. But everyone's happy, I guess, except for me. So, okay. Wait, wait. That visual is just two. We actually only have one. Oh
[18:06] god. I did that because I thought we were at this tool tip made it seem like actually only have one out of three. All right. Well, yikes. I like Okay, actually I'm really happy with letting this guy win
[18:23] with letting this guy win on 21 here with a bet of $24. Realistically, that's when we should be letting these fools win, you know. So,
[18:35] letting these fools win, you know. So, um, I mean, I don't really love being at 12. 12's fine.
[18:52] I could also delete like 50 bucks. I need to I need to extract some value from some of these fools. Ideally, we keep on letting keep on having this guy lose. I think we we want you to keep on winning to fuel the
[19:07] hype of trust the chart. You keep on winning. We lose $24 each You keep on winning. We lose $24 each round. Great. You keep on losing until round. Great. You keep on losing until you go for the huge payout.
[19:22] That's the ideal. And then you I just whatever. I just manage you up up and down. So, we could like end up taking a loss So, we could like end up taking a loss here for a bit.
[19:38] plays out. So, you're standing on 13. You're standing on 20. I mean, yeah, why wouldn't you? 12. Oh, jeez, man.
[19:52] We don't lose that much. I would have to delete twice in order to do this. I think I would rather have my cool off happen. I'd rather have my cool off happen. I'd rather slowly work down my uh my my
[20:05] threat. Obviously, we're down a lot of cash, but this is this is for a purpose. We need them to Look at that. Look how freaking happy they are. Okay, that's freaking happy they are. Okay, that's great. Now is when we strike. [laughter]
[20:18] Okay, now is when we strike. It doesn't matter to me, I guess, which one loses. In fact, it's probably better if it's you because you have more [music] um allowance for it.
[20:39] I got to be honest. Is by the book cheating? don't want to delete or inverted. I'd have to use it twice.
[20:51] have to use it twice. Stand at 12. stand at 13. Stand at 12. stand at 13. Okay. How can I get, Dude, how much in the hole are we going to go?
[21:11] Like, I think as long as we have players here, we're fine, though, cuz we don't have like a limited day or anything, as far as I can tell. fine. All right. Fine. We'll uh we'll let this vent. We'll vent big heat.
[21:29] We'll go in the hole for now and see what this is. He's hyped. What and see what this is. He's hyped. What happens on hype?
[21:43] I'm not sure. Maybe their bet goes crazy. Jeez. Okay. This guy cannot win. We cannot let that guy win.
[22:09] the five, you take the three, you take a two. I'm up to 20. You want a hit? I'll give you one. Bang. Thanks for the 484 bucks hit.
[22:21] Uh I can't remember what this is. I can't lie. I was just too excited. 12 hit up to 15 hit. What? Okay. You
[22:36] 12 hit up to 15 hit. What? Okay. You guys are crazy this time. All right. That's right. That's right. Okay. Huge. Huge. We played with their Okay. Huge. Huge. We played with their emotions. We hyped them up. Oh, he quit.
[22:49] I think because he lost all of his money, didn't he? which means we lose that set bonus as well or whatever.
[23:01] well or whatever. Rage quit soon. Tourists. have anything going on or they do they have some kind of
[23:24] All right, we can almost we could hype. Can have by the book get hyped up
[23:37] think that we could maybe uh accept an L. But like, am I going to really want to go through and vent again? Probably not.
[23:53] stand. They're going to be fine. They're asking for a hit. Okay. Sorry. I mean, thank you for the reliable 50 bucks, guy. not house wins. We just It's just neutral. Cool.
[24:13] It's doing fine, though. This guy's doing fine.
[24:34] what's up. 19. I can't see. I mean, I can't see further, so there's not really a point here to be doing too much. I could give him the two. I could give him the two, but I kind of just want to see how this plays out. Oh,
[24:48] just want to see how this plays out. Oh, of course. Okay. 20. He's lost twice. It of course. Okay. 20. He's lost twice. It may be good to hype him up a little. He's got 400 bucks left in his wallet. I think I think it's good to give him one
[25:03] win. Like a win, two loss. A win, two loss. So, we'll let him have that. Ideally, I'd like you to win, too. double.
[25:18] I mean, okay, here's the thing. He would get hyped up like crazy. Is this already factored into the double or did he bet 30? Cuz he's obviously or did he bet 30? Cuz he's obviously he's about to get 21.
[25:44] really wish he didn't double because he was he was going to get hyped anyways. hyped and we're going to take all his money on the next round cuz we don't have a good hand here anyways. Like we're going to Yeah, we're just going to
[26:00] let that happen. It's going to be a one bad round and then next round if you get hyped up, you should bet like crazy and we can just should bet like crazy and we can just guarantee you a loss.
[26:18] clean sweep here. All right, that's pretty good. I think we can I think we can smack him off of a 16 cuz he's probably going to stay on that. Oh, yeah. I mean, I'm good. I got 20. I'm I'm good. Hit. Sure.
[26:35] Hit. Okay. they want to hit, they can hit. It's not going to It's not going to make a going to It's not going to make a difference here. Oh, huge.
[26:54] We got our cash we needed. All right. That took a long time because I was just having like I was just having fun there. All right, All right, but we got it. Proceed to the shop.
[27:07] Heat cools off while on the floor minus 13%. You start the next shift at 10%. You don't have the money for these. Could sell these.
[27:23] See, one step further in the pile. I got to be honest, that's like really good.
[27:41] Two or more tourists means we've got tourists press bigger after a single win. A tourist win adds six hype to every other tourist. After three rounds live, a tourist loss
[27:57] drains six hype from every other tourist in the mix.
[28:09] I think we just need to give them guaranteed wins. We need to get them in and out fast, which you know, they're a tourist, so that checks out. So, tourist, so that checks out. So, ideally, we have them both win. You
[28:26] you win too. It'll probably be easier. It'll probably be easier. But yeah, we can go down to - 750. As long as we're not at - 750, we're fine. Send you to 9 12. I mean, we can just
[28:42] Send you to 9 12. I mean, we can just always uh have our self bust. We're giving them a 19. Like, that's plenty. 18 plenty. Yeah, I feel like we can have this. Um, I think this is going to work out. Oh,
[28:57] I think this is going to work out. Oh, 14. Oh, that guy's staying. Shoot. I really wanted you to win, too, man.
[29:09] And the next but the next three cards are incredible, unfortunately, for us. So, there's not I don't know. I'm not going to spend 21% suspicion to give this guy a win. I think that just doesn't make sense.
[29:25] So, unfortunately, this is a push. This sucks. [laughter] tourists to win and win fast because after three rounds alive, they are going after three rounds alive, they are going to be in trouble.
[29:39] All right, six. six. The next number after six, four. Should we invert and just give them the 10 or delete and give him the 10?
[29:56] Like, it's just a really good starting spot, obviously. All right, they're at 10. Middle's at 9. 17. I feel like we can make that work. 17. I feel like we can make that work. We're We're going to be at 16.
[30:14] double. Oh, okay. Surely we can be fine. Can we take this loss and be fine? Yes, we can take this loss and be fine. loss and be fine. Imagine they hit. Okay.
[30:33] So, if I delete, I can take the money from the middle guy.
[30:46] to delete I'd have to delete like three times in order to make a difference times in order to make a difference here. That's just too much.
[31:00] But if I delete, I can take this guy's money and reset him down. When they fine with him leaving. It's not that big of a deal, but do we want him to win?
[31:13] Cuz we are going to want to do like a a We're going to want to hype them up and them all at the same time once once they're excited. So, I'm just going to let him win. I am going to let him win here. I think that's fine. We're We're
[31:26] like down a lot, but this guy should be bumped by that. I'm assuming that bumped by that. I'm assuming that doubling gives them more hype.
[31:41] Oh, I gotta be honest, that's not nearly as much hype as I thought. guy lost, he's been losing a lot is really problematic,
[31:56] kind of a rough go. I'd have to spend too many resources to fix it.
[32:08] six, I mean, it's fine. You're just going to have a million cards. 15. I'm happy to have you at 15 cuz maybe we could like nestle oursel at 16 and have little bit more money to play with because we have the floor of - 750.
[32:24] because we have the floor of - 750. Lord have mercy.
[32:36] Uh, [sighs] I mean, I'd put myself at 17, that's honestly 17 feels pretty safe. like almost a safe win
[32:52] like almost a safe win because we'd be putting you at 16 by giving you the jack. That's not good. That's not good
[33:11] see it. So, they're going to stay, right? Like they're going to stay make them mad and they're going to leave.
[33:25] leave. Oh, brother. is bad. So, if I get you to 15, do you stay
[33:37] Do you stay on a 15? You surely you stay on a 15. You're not going to stay on a on a 15. You're not going to stay on a 12.
[33:50] You going to be at 20? What's the likelihood I can get you both to 21? No shot. I feel like I have to go crazy here. God, I hate I I hate what we're going to have to do.
[34:07] Get them to 16. You're going to go up to 18. Um, so the only person you're going only one I don't really want to be winning. The hell, man?
[34:19] of these guys to win, but they suck at blackjack, apparently. And by that I blackjack, apparently. And by that I mean they suck at luck. Um, I could delete and then invert. So, we delete and then we invert. We take the
[34:33] delete and then we invert. We take the three, we go to 14, they go to 16. That's a lot of resources, but I got to tell you, this is bad. So, tell you, this is bad. So, let me take the three. We get you to 18.
[34:51] But I'm doing it. 16 can get you up to 18 on the next one. You wanted Yeah, you took the other hit. H hit. Great. Love
[35:03] as well. So, you're going to be up to 17, which puts us at 14. So, we have to hit Oh, perfect. Okay, that was a just a crazy amount of resources,
[35:17] but uh Oh, shoot. We're going to get 17, huh?
[35:29] a double delete to rig this round that hard? My detection's at 45. But I got to tell you, I think we need to go crazy here.
[35:44] I think we need to go crazy. We need to We need to rig this so bad that we lose We need to rig this so bad that we lose really hard here to reset their really hard here to reset their happiness.
[36:02] Still didn't get hyped. Can we lose again? We are allowed to lose again. We could lose all of this up at And then we could just go for a big sweep. So, this is We could go up to 220. Oh god. 220 310. It's close, but we could
[36:19] lose all of these and be fine. We're giving you a 19. I love that. giving you a 19. I love that. 13. Whatever. Four or 14. Put myself at a 13. Okay. Stand. Trace. Sreeze. Stand. Actually, a
[36:34] little bit surprising. Stand. Uh, okay. Yeah, this is this is okay. This is okay. So, you're going to get hyped. We need to clean him out now.
[36:47] We now clean him out. We cannot We literally cannot handle another uh another uh loss there. But this guy is going all in. 655. Take him to the
[36:59] away with taking him to the cleaners without having to even rig it. So, we without having to even rig it. So, we have 13. I mean, it's not great. 17.
[37:12] It's not It's not the worst, but it's not It's awkward.
[37:24] Yeah. I mean, it's too too many resources to get you anything else. Hit. You're crazy. Okay. I mean, I didn't even have to try. Stand. Hit.
[37:45] that. All right. 17. What are we at? We're like pretty low down here. Take an eight. We can go up to 16. Um, I don't really care if this guy wins. I think that's probably fine. In fact, it's maybe even good.
[38:05] probably this guy's definitely leaving. This guy might leave. he didn't end up leaving. Okay. All right.
[38:25] All right. So, now what do we want to try and hype up try and hype up the regular? Maybe.
[38:37] 13. Uh, nope. Point here. We We're We're back up in the green, so we can just let these guys take some W's. these guys take some W's. stand at 13. Oh, okay. Well,
[38:57] save you from yourself, man. I I'd have to go two cards deep to save you. we're going to we're going to take this the tourist's money instead. We will
[39:09] spend everything on on uh taking his cash. Oh, you are poor. Oh god, we almost we almost cleaned you out naturally. Okay. All right. Eight.
[39:22] out naturally. Okay. All right. Eight. We can't let you win. 14.
[39:37] I don't want to give you either of these.
[39:52] to give you a a 16 is like not that good. A delete and an invert. I don't really need it.
[40:08] cutting it too close for my cheating, you know. So, I think we just have to you know. So, I think we just have to accept a double delete here is not even a guarantee that we're going to be fine.
[40:36] I'd have to double delete to be fine here.
[40:59] how it would work. So, we're just going to go ahead and guarantee here. Connection severed. We really need to take this guy's remaining cash. Thank you. All right. Two ace eights.
[41:15] Two ace eights. 17ish.
[41:27] fine. We We'll We'll [music] handle it. Hits 15. Oh, okay. All right. Thank you for the cash. We're good.
[41:42] very expensive in uh in heat. Demo complete. How dare you? Is very fun. campaign has seven cycles plus something off the timeline.
[41:57] they just give you what? They get you one shop and a little bit of it. Just a little taste. It's very It's very satisfying little um puzzle system basically that they've got here. Uh as far as it being a rogike, I mean Yeah.
[42:11] Yeah. I guess I definitely I would like to see there be more um injection of player capability and like potential for uh run variety. Like I'm sure it's there. I'm sure it's there. But the fact that we played uh
[42:25] there. But the fact that we played uh for 42 minutes here and all that we had for 42 minutes here and all that we had was the same two abilities [music] and um the like we saw that we had a one the one passive where we could see one card
[42:38] could already see five cards deep. So like it felt like a downgrade to go into only could see two anyways. But it was like but it is technically an upgrade of plus one card to see. And then we got it into the shop. We had the upgrade that
[42:53] let us see one card deeper. So all of that to say, it's like I think you could let the player get a little bit more juice a little bit
[43:05] quicker. Like obviously I played slow. I I was just having a good time. Sue me. But you could give the player more sauce faster
[43:17] cuz like each round round has the has the potential to go very long. In theory, it has the potential to go on like like basically forever if you just keep on juggling money back and forth. So
[43:31] therefore, like there's going to end up being like this pacing issue potentially being like this pacing issue potentially with giving the player strength and like interesting things like the player fantasy of I am a you know like I'm a
[43:45] fantasy of I am a you know like I'm a cheating computer at blackjack. I like you have that it is realized but like the fantasy of what the game is um proposing as a rog like it's not like entirely delivering on quickly. I bet
[44:01] by the end of it, you'll have some sauce. But I think like giving the player a little bit more interactability potent or potentially cutting down like the length of rounds, but that's a tough one to say because again it's like
[44:16] entirely based on if you go for the jugular like right away or not cuz you could hype hype hype clean them out like pretty quickly. You could do that. But still uh really promising game though. I'm really really interested in it. I
[44:30] like it a lot. Uh I'd be happy to play more of it, but I feel like Yeah, I think that I think the player fantasy is uh needs a little bit more
[44:42] uh juice. Yeah, that's all I think I think the player the player could feel think the player the player could feel stronger in it like which is funny being able to see the cards ahead in blackjack it means you're OP. But like I
[44:55] don't know. I think you could get a little bit more alas. class. I'm just out, though. I do recommend it. Like, I had a really good time. I had a really really good time with it. Uh, as a puzzle game,
[45:10] necessarily It's not living that yet, but maybe in in the top description. Names cover indie games every single day with an lights. If that's something you're into, this is a channel that you should be
