Too Many Villains? Actually, More!
60sControversial take on the crowded villain roster sparks debate and curiosity.
▶ Play ClipEric Voss hosts a live Q&A session on the New Rockstars channel, answering lingering questions about the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer. He discusses theories about Sadie Sink's character (likely Jean Grey), the role of the Hand, and the future MCU slate, while engaging with super chat donations and fan predictions.
Eric dismisses the idea that Peter will be roommates with Boomerang, noting the trailer likely won't focus on minor villains like Boomerang or Tarantula.
Eric believes Hulk also forgot Peter due to the spell, and Bruce Banner learns who Peter is during their conversation in the trailer.
Eric addresses concerns that Jean Grey is too powerful for a street-level story, arguing her powers will be used for mind possession rather than large-scale destruction, keeping it grounded.
Eric considers the Typhoid Mary theory but notes Sadie Sink has a three-picture deal including Secret Wars, making Jean Grey more likely than a street-level villain.
Eric predicts the July 2028 slot is for X-Men, May 2029 for Black Panther 3, and July 2029 for a Blade/Midnight Suns movie, based on new Disney release dates.
Eric speculates that some stylized shots (e.g., the Hand in daylight) may not be in the final movie, while practical Glasgow footage and prison fight likely will.
Eric thinks Ned taking a dark turn is unlikely; he prefers Ned and MJ's paranoia about their forgotten connection to Spider-Man as a sweet narrative.
Eric praises the trailer's swinging shots, noting the VFX supervisor from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is involved, and hopes for more practical rigs.
Eric suggests the Punisher one-shot will be released before Brand New Day, likely shot on Daredevil sets, and doesn't need to show the first meeting.
Eric doubts the movie takes place on Battle World, as it's still set in 616 New York connected to Daredevil: Born Again season 2.
Eric finds the theory that the ninjas are the Ten Rings interesting but requests elaboration, as the visual design matches Frank Miller's Hand.
Eric argues the voice is Marvin Jones III, not Keith David, based on vocal similarities and the actor's previous work.
Eric wants a green savage Hulk whose abilities are triggered by Jean Grey tampering with his mind.
Eric theorizes the Man-Spider form is a nightmare/hallucination caused by a toxin or Jean Grey, not a permanent transformation.
Eric acknowledges Firestar as a possible alternative to Jean Grey, but thinks stretching for non-Jean theories is unnecessary.
Eric believes the Hand in this movie is visually different and likely part of a vision, not requiring viewers to watch the Defenders saga.
Eric is glad Mephisto is not involved, as the MCU already has him, and the movie doesn't need Sasha Baron Cohen.
Eric loves the theory that Jean Grey could bypass the spell and help MJ and Ned remember Peter, and also help Frank Castle remember his kids positively.
Eric prefers an X-Men team movie first to establish dynamics, rather than solo films, as general audiences need the group introduction.
Eric thinks Punisher is trying to stop Spider-Man from interfering with the tank breakout, acting as a guardian to Jean Grey.
Eric believes the movie is set four years after No Way Home, with characters out of college and moving back to New York.
Eric speculates Scorpion's tech comes from the DODC vault or an arms dealer, possibly linked to the Berkeley building seen in the trailer.
Eric wonders how Peter affords his lifestyle, suggesting he might work as a graphic designer for the Daily Bugle or have a deal with his landlord.
Eric strongly believes Daredevil will appear in the movie, calling it 'ridiculous' to pretend otherwise.
Eric thinks Peter could trust this universe's Norman Osborn because he understands variants are different people.
Eric acknowledges the Man-Spider storyline might be too goofy for casual moviegoers, but trusts Tom Holland's performance.
Eric puts the chance of Daredevil appearing at above 50%, reiterating his belief.
Eric suggests the DODC restrains Jean because few mutants exist yet; after Doomsday/Secret Wars, more mutants emerge and Xavier provides a haven.
Eric thinks the Venom symbiote from No Way Home's post-credits won't appear, as adding symbiotes would overcomplicate the story.
Eric concludes the Man-Spider is likely a nightmare/hallucination, possibly induced by a toxin or Jean Grey, but the form will appear briefly.
Eric announces a special episode on X-Men: First Class, emphasizing the phrase 'Children of the Atom' as key for the MCU's mutant saga.
Eric wraps up the live stream by thanking viewers and editors, hinting at future office hours, and reminding everyone to watch Project Hail Mary. The session clarified many fan theories while leaving room for speculation about the MCU's mutant future.
"The title promises answering more questions about the trailer, and the video delivers exactly that – a live Q&A addressing fan theories and lingering doubts."

Why does Eric think Hulk doesn't remember Peter?
Because the spell erased everyone's memory of Peter Parker, including Hulk.
4:40
What is Eric's main argument for Sadie Sink playing Jean Grey instead of Typhoid Mary?
Sadie Sink has a three-picture deal including Secret Wars, and Typhoid Mary is too street-level for the Russo brothers to care about.
7:16
Which MCU movie does Eric predict for July 28, 2028?
Marvel Studios' X-Men.
9:04
What VFX supervisor is working on Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
The same VFX supervisor from The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
13:49
Why does Eric think the outdoor shot of the Hand might not be in the final movie?
Because it looks too stylized and may have been created just for the trailer.
10:47
What is Eric's best-case scenario for Hulk in Brand New Day?
A green savage Hulk whose abilities are triggered by Jean Grey tampering with his mind.
21:12
According to Eric, what is the likely nature of the Man-Spider form?
A nightmare or hallucination caused by a toxin or Jean Grey's powers.
24:55
Does Eric think the Punisher one-shot will show how Peter and Frank first met?
No, he thinks it's unnecessary and prefers the mystery.
14:25
What phrase does Eric believe will be key for the MCU's mutant saga?
Children of the Atom.
53:02
How does Eric think Jean Grey's powers will be used to keep the story street-level?
Through mind possession rather than large-scale destruction, like controlling someone to operate a tank.
5:22
Street-level Jean Grey
Eric provides a concrete explanation for how an omega-level mutant can fit into a grounded Spider-Man story.
5:22MCU release date predictions
Eric offers specific, reasoned predictions for the 2028-2029 MCU slate based on new Disney dates.
8:02Spider-Man swinging VFX quality
Eric reveals the VFX supervisor from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is involved, explaining the improved swinging visuals.
13:49Tombstone voice actor debate
Eric argues for Marvin Jones III over Keith David, demonstrating attention to vocal nuance and casting details.
18:21Jean Grey as memory key
Eric proposes a clever narrative function for Jean Grey: bypassing the spell to restore memories for MJ, Ned, and Frank Castle.
33:11X-Men movie first approach
Eric explains why a team-up film should precede solo X-Men movies for audience engagement.
35:58[00:08] Hey,
[00:15] hey,
[00:22] hey.
[00:28] Hey,
[00:48] hey,
[00:50] hey.
[00:52] Heat. Heat. N.
[01:05] Hey,
[01:28] hey hey.
[01:30] Heat.
[01:45] Heat. N.
[02:17] Hey everybody, welcome back to another
[02:20] New Rockstars Friday AMA. Hey, we're
[02:22] doing some office hours here. We're
[02:23] going to be answering some questions
[02:24] about this Spider-Man brand new day
[02:26] trailer that are still on your mind.
[02:28] Stuff I didn't get to in the breakdown
[02:30] that came out yesterday uh or today's
[02:33] extra video that we did. Um I'm here
[02:35] live on the New Rockstars channel. I
[02:38] think I said my name's Eric Voss. I
[02:40] don't remember. Hey guys, thanks for
[02:43] hanging out with me. Uh it's fun. We
[02:44] like to do these every now and again
[02:47] when um we can. Uh, anybody who's
[02:51] joining us as a member like uh like you
[02:55] um Tanner Pro Bowl, awesome. Thanks for
[02:58] joining us. This is this is why we do
[03:00] this for you. Um, you did. I don't
[03:05] remember. Um, yeah, Terrence, I do think
[03:09] it was so gas. Wasn't so ass. Um,
[03:14] yeah, a lot of predictions happening out
[03:16] there. Some people saying they were
[03:17] predicting Morland.
[03:19] Um, all of you in the chat, this is
[03:21] really fun that I can do this. Um, Sarah
[03:24] Hadidorian, I see you. Uh, Ethan
[03:27] Phillips, ooh, just came through with a
[03:29] super chat. Let's see.
[03:35] Um, saying, "Do you think Peter and
[03:37] Boomerang will be roommates?"
[03:41] Uh,
[03:43] no.
[03:44] I don't know. I don't think I think
[03:46] Peter it's hard for him to afford to
[03:48] live in Manhattan without a roommate,
[03:50] but I don't know if he's going to be
[03:51] roommates specifically with this person.
[03:53] I honestly don't think we're going to
[03:54] really get to know Boomerang or
[03:56] Tarantula that well. I have a lot of
[03:58] thoughts on like Boomerang, Tarantula,
[04:00] the Hand in this. A lot of people are
[04:02] like too many villains. You're doing too
[04:03] much. I don't think it's going to be
[04:04] part of a first act montage. I think
[04:06] there's going to be even more villains
[04:07] that are just part of like a different
[04:09] kind of sequence that actually happens
[04:10] like in the second act of the movie.
[04:14] It's a super chat, so I feel obligated
[04:16] to put on screen, but I also kind of
[04:18] agree. Yeah, release them all. Release
[04:21] them all. I don't care who's in there.
[04:24] Um,
[04:26] uh, hi. Hi, Chstick.
[04:29] Um, yeah, new Rockstar's in the chat as
[04:32] well. Um, Berg, I believe, is
[04:35] controlling the chat. Uh, be nice to
[04:37] Berg. Um,
[04:40] uh, no, I don't think Hulk does either.
[04:43] To answer your question, Stephen Gabriel
[04:46] Rivera, I don't think anybody does. I I
[04:49] think a lot of people are saying, "Well,
[04:50] Hulk still remembers." No, I don't think
[04:52] Hulk remembers either. And just Bruce
[04:54] Banner saying, "Uh, wait, what' you say
[04:56] your name was again?" I I think he
[04:58] learns in that conversation who Peter
[04:59] is, and he helps him out after the fact.
[05:01] Uh, but I don't think Peter's going to
[05:02] go into the whole history of like what
[05:04] his adventures were with the Avengers.
[05:07] Uh, so if you guys have questions about
[05:10] the Spider-Man brand new day trailer,
[05:12] put them in the chat like this. I will
[05:13] try to answer as many as I can for as
[05:15] long as I can. I got other stuff that
[05:16] I'm doing today. Hey, Chadwick Myers,
[05:18] thank you for your super chat. Uh,
[05:19] Chadwick's saying, "Satie is Jean. Uh,
[05:22] Satie Azene is great casting, but I'm a
[05:24] bit irked that she's in it at all. They
[05:26] said they were doing a classic street
[05:27] level vigilante Spider-Man movie, but
[05:29] then the big villain is the most
[05:30] powerful core X-Men." You're on to
[05:32] something, Chad. I I I hear what you're
[05:34] saying. Yeah, a lot of people that's
[05:36] like their big gripe with this is like
[05:38] how do you do a a street level
[05:39] Spider-Man story and then have like one
[05:41] of the most iconic omega level mutants
[05:43] who has a Phoenix force coursing through
[05:45] her veins. I really encourage anyone who
[05:48] feels that way just go watch the video
[05:50] that I made a couple weeks ago why it
[05:52] has to be Jean cuz I do think that there
[05:54] is a version of the story that works
[05:56] here specifically what we're seeing in
[05:57] this trailer here. I'll show you I show
[05:59] you what I mean here. Uh, I have a a
[06:02] high bit rate version of it up here. Uh,
[06:05] I don't need to hear audio.
[06:07] Um, where Jean's powers kind of leaprog
[06:11] around uh, according to Trel Tilman's
[06:13] character going from here.
[06:18] Uh, to this guy to
[06:22] this guy. Look at that smirk. That's
[06:26] what I want to know. Um, yeah, that's
[06:28] kind of like the extent of it in this
[06:31] movie. I really do think that it's more
[06:33] of going to be a mind possession kind of
[06:35] thing. And I think this is appropriately
[06:36] street level. We're not talking about
[06:38] like a firebird coursing through the sky
[06:42] blowing up buildings. Uh, I think the
[06:44] explosion that we see in this shot is
[06:46] really just her controlling someone to
[06:48] to operate the tank that rams it into
[06:51] the building. And the tank has some
[06:53] artillery that can blow up stuff. So, I
[06:55] think that you can get street level
[06:57] enough with Gan Gray that way. But I I
[07:00] do feel your concern and I could see it
[07:02] going a completely different way, too.
[07:04] I'm not going to be here on the hill
[07:06] dying on this hill saying that it's got
[07:08] to be Gan Gray. I just think of the
[07:10] clues we're given, that's the likeliest
[07:14] direction. But with another theory, here
[07:16] is uh Tyrie IB team fearless saying, "Do
[07:19] you think Satie is playing Typhoid
[07:21] Mary?" I I I think that's another way
[07:24] you can look at it. Typoid Mary is more
[07:26] street level and does have more of a
[07:27] relationship with like the Daredevil
[07:30] Punisher hand corner of the MCU, the the
[07:33] street level heroes for higher friendly
[07:35] neighborhood folks. Uh the issue with
[07:37] Typhoid Mary is that from what has been
[07:39] reported, Sadi Sink has like a three
[07:41] picture deal. Uh she's she is coming
[07:44] back for Avengers: Secret Wars, and I
[07:45] have to imagine she's going to be
[07:46] playing the same character. And I just I
[07:48] just don't really see a scenario where
[07:49] the Russo brothers care about the
[07:51] character of Typoid Mary that much. But
[07:53] I could see a scenario where they want
[07:55] to introduce a lot of the new mutants
[07:57] that are going to be in the mutant saga
[07:58] thereafter. Um, I want to take a moment
[08:02] to ask you guys, if you've seen this
[08:05] news, that uh there's going to be three
[08:09] um three
[08:13] three uh announced MCU movies that are
[08:17] going to be in 2028 and 2029. Here, I'm
[08:20] going to read you when uh those dates
[08:22] were announced. Uh they are coming in.
[08:28] Uh so there was going to be like a
[08:30] February 2028 release date that was
[08:33] unfilled by Disney. Now that has been
[08:34] moved to July 28th, 2028. There will be
[08:37] an MCU movie coming out after Secret
[08:39] Wars on July 28th, 2028. Another one
[08:43] coming on May 4th, 2029. And then
[08:46] another MCU movie coming out on July
[08:48] 13th, 2029. So in the summer of 2029,
[08:51] we're going to have two MCU movies. one
[08:53] in May, one in July, and then in the
[08:55] whole calendar year of 2028, we'll just
[08:57] have one MCU movie coming at the end of
[09:00] end of July. My predictions for those
[09:02] three is that after Secret Wars, I I do
[09:04] still think we're going to get Marvel
[09:06] Studios X-Men, and I think that's going
[09:07] to be the July 28th, 2028 movie. I think
[09:11] May 4th, 2029 could be Black Panther 3.
[09:15] It could be a Deadpool and Wolverine
[09:16] followup. It could be Blade. I think
[09:19] Blade might be just permanently
[09:21] cancelled. And maybe they'll reconfigure
[09:24] it into something like Midnight Suns or
[09:26] something like that, a Ghostriter movie.
[09:28] Especially since Ryan Gosling confirmed
[09:30] that he and Kevin Feige have actually
[09:31] talked about it. He and Marvel Studios
[09:33] at least. And Kevin Feige is like,
[09:34] "Yeah, I'm on board." That just moves us
[09:36] one step closer to getting a Midnight
[09:38] Suns Ghost Rider Blade teamup type
[09:40] movie. Um, that doesn't feel like a
[09:42] summer release for whatever reason, but
[09:43] if it is, I think it would be a late
[09:45] summer release. So, I'm kind of thinking
[09:47] Black Panther 3 as the May 4th, 2029
[09:50] movie. And then um and then whatever
[09:52] that other weird thing is which could be
[09:55] like a Blade Midnight Suns movie in July
[09:57] of 2029. Uh but also we're talking 2029.
[10:01] That could be when we get a sequel to
[10:03] Fantastic 4 first steps. Like maybe we
[10:06] see the Fantastic 4 next steps at that
[10:08] point. We'd be four years after the
[10:10] fact. I I do think if whatever contracts
[10:12] they have with Pedra Pascal and Vanessa
[10:14] Kirby, I think Fantastic 4 did well
[10:17] enough for Marvel Studios that I could
[10:18] imagine them, especially if the
[10:20] characters are really popular coming out
[10:22] of Doomsday, I can imagine them doing a
[10:24] follow-up with those characters and
[10:25] making that the the sequel that we see
[10:27] in 2029 and and four years after the
[10:29] fact, I think, is enough. Um so, uh let
[10:33] me know if you guys have any thoughts or
[10:35] questions about specifically what um
[10:37] those those three other movies could be.
[10:40] But this is like huge news about the the
[10:41] Marvel slate. This is going to be
[10:42] something I'm going to be saying in a
[10:44] lot of videos. Ah Sarah Hadidorian,
[10:47] thank you uh for joining us as always
[10:49] saying, "Given how Sony is with her
[10:51] trailers, how much do you think of this
[10:52] trailer will actually be in the final
[10:54] cut of the movie and how much of this
[10:55] ends up being trailer only?" Great
[10:58] question, Sarah. Great question. Uh, I
[11:01] have a feeling when I'm looking at shots
[11:03] like this that this shot will not be in
[11:07] the movie looking like this. Um, but I
[11:10] do think shots that really look like,
[11:12] you know, stuff that they shot in
[11:13] Glasgow,
[11:15] uh, I think shots with like Frank
[11:17] Castle, um, will be in the movie. I
[11:20] think all this sequence will be in the
[11:21] movie. I think I even think the prison
[11:23] fight will be in the movie uh, with the
[11:25] hand. I just think the outdoor shot of
[11:27] the hand, for whatever reason, won't
[11:29] necessarily be in the movie. Um, just
[11:30] because I know they put a lot of time
[11:32] shooting this, it doesn't seem like
[11:34] something they whipped up just for a
[11:35] trailer.
[11:38] Um,
[11:43] uh Troy
[11:44] Theodorovich,
[11:47] thank you for your super chat saying Ned
[11:49] equals Goblin trying to find out who's
[11:51] Spider-Man's identity. referring to the
[11:53] end of the trailer, I'm guessing, where
[11:54] they have this research wall. Uh,
[11:57] everyone really wants Ned to be to take
[11:59] on the Hobgoblin arc. I I
[12:03] kind of wanted to get there. I just
[12:04] think Jacob Balon brings so much role to
[12:06] this, so much more to this role that uh
[12:09] I don't need to see him take that dark
[12:11] turn. I I can see other characters
[12:13] coming into Peter's life who represent
[12:15] that. Um, but I I think it's actually a
[12:18] really beautiful, sweet thing that both
[12:19] MJ and Ned have this kind of paranoia
[12:22] that they had some connection to
[12:24] Spider-Man at some phase of their lives
[12:25] and they just can't put their finger on
[12:27] it. And I think it's sweet and beautiful
[12:29] that they're like spending their idol
[12:31] time watching uh Spider-Man Mayor Key to
[12:35] the city uh ceremonies uh because they
[12:38] just kind of love him and they need him
[12:40] in their lives.
[12:41] Oh, um, here's, uh, Ned saying, probably
[12:44] another theory for what could be these
[12:46] 2028 or 2029 movies, saying a Scarlet
[12:49] Witch movie. Thanks for your super chat,
[12:50] Ned. Uh, a Scarlet Witch movie.
[12:53] Elizabeth Olsen keeps saying no. A
[12:55] Scarlet Witch appearance in Doomsday and
[12:57] Secret Wars. That's what I think we we
[13:00] should be focused on. Um, I don't know
[13:02] if we're going to get a Scarlet Witch
[13:03] movie. I think that's what Multiverse of
[13:04] Madness was. The only Scarlet Witch
[13:07] movie that I could see them doing is
[13:09] something as big as like House of M. But
[13:12] in order to get House of M, you have to
[13:13] have mutants in the MCU first in order
[13:15] to say no more mutants, right? So, if we
[13:18] ever get a Scarlet Witch movie, I think
[13:20] we're like 10 years away from a Scarlet
[13:22] Witch movie.
[13:24] Uh, Ethan Phillips 5601, thanks for your
[13:28] super chat saying, "What do you want to
[13:29] see when it comes to swinging?"
[13:31] Um, I'm trying to figure out what
[13:34] exactly you're asking here. Uh, I just
[13:37] want to see some practical swinging and
[13:39] I'm already seeing it to be real with
[13:41] you. Uh, this trailer is already kind of
[13:43] giving me what I wanted.
[13:46] I mean, just like these shots. Um, I
[13:49] think it looks really good already and
[13:51] it's because they're using the same VFX
[13:54] supervisor that they had on The Amazing
[13:56] Spider-Man 2. That's why it looks that
[13:58] good. So, imagine someone with those
[14:00] kind of skills
[14:02] even better at what they can do. Uh, I
[14:04] think this movie is going to bring it.
[14:06] Um, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 still to
[14:08] this date is the best liveaction
[14:09] Spider-Man swinging action that we've
[14:12] seen in a movie. And, uh, I I think they
[14:15] can do even better by bringing in some
[14:17] more practical elements like the
[14:18] practical swinging rig that they had in
[14:20] Glasgow when they shot this. Havoc
[14:23] Torres, thanks for your super chat.
[14:25] Havoc saying, "Could they have filmed
[14:27] the Punisher special feature during this
[14:29] production? It shows how Peter and Frank
[14:30] first met. You know, um it's possible.
[14:33] The Punisher oneshot I think was
[14:34] confirmed yesterday. It's going to be
[14:36] coming at some point this summer. Um and
[14:38] if it's this summer, I would have to
[14:39] imagine it's before Spider-Man Brand New
[14:42] Day because Spider-Man brand new Brand
[14:43] New Day comes out on Harry Potter's
[14:44] birthday of July 31st. So there's like,
[14:47] you know, several several weeks of
[14:49] summer before that. Um, I don't think
[14:52] they would have needed to shoot them at
[14:54] the same time just because you only need
[14:56] to shoot the Spider-Man one shot during
[14:58] the Spider-Man production if you're
[15:00] going to be paying Destin Daniel Cinton
[15:01] even more to help shoot that to use the
[15:03] the space uh on the set that they have
[15:06] and to um uh and to shoot that in the
[15:11] UK. We don't know where they shot the
[15:12] Spider-Man or the the Punisher oneshot
[15:15] stuff. I would imagine they're going to
[15:16] shoot that on the same sets that they
[15:18] had for Daredevil Port again season one
[15:19] and two because there's not uh in season
[15:21] two and three because there's not much
[15:23] of a gap time between those productions.
[15:25] So, they're probably going to use those
[15:27] sets and I think a Punisher one shot is
[15:29] going to be just kind of Burnal by
[15:31] himself and with a bunch of other extras
[15:33] rather than a bunch of other cameos of
[15:35] MCU characters. Uh, and I really don't
[15:37] need to know how they met. I kind of
[15:39] like the idea that just sometime over
[15:41] the past four years they crossed paths
[15:42] and got to know each other. That's kind
[15:44] of the fun of the Marvel world is like
[15:45] not everyone needs to have an origin
[15:46] story or a meat cute. Um, Rantel Moore
[15:52] saying, "Could this or future film be uh
[15:54] take place in Battle World unknown to
[15:56] the characters?" You know, that's one of
[15:58] like my favorite like meta theories that
[16:00] has been pitched uh since the early days
[16:04] of the multiverse saga when people were
[16:06] looking at movies like Eternals and
[16:07] Shani in 2021 saying, "Well, are we
[16:11] already looking at things that are
[16:12] taking place in Elseorlds that we're
[16:14] going to find out how they're connect?"
[16:15] Um, now that ended up not being
[16:17] confirmed yet, at least. Um, I think
[16:19] Marvel Studios wants to imply that those
[16:22] things still just took place in the 616
[16:24] universe. Um, I I think this is still
[16:27] the New York of the 616 universe that's
[16:30] going to be connected to Daredevil Born
[16:32] Again season 2. Um, which is not like in
[16:35] a a part of Battle World yet. Uh, if
[16:37] anything were to take place between
[16:39] Doomsday and Secret Wars. I don't know
[16:41] how you do that. Like for example,
[16:42] Daredevil Boarding in season 3, I don't
[16:45] know how that comes out after Doomsday
[16:48] without that part of New York taking
[16:50] place in Battle World. I don't know how
[16:52] they're going to do that because we're
[16:53] going to see Avengers Doomsday and if it
[16:55] ends with the creation of Battle World,
[16:56] then how the hell is is Daredevil born
[16:58] again season two gonna make sense? Um
[17:01] Tanner
[17:04] um asking, "What if the ninjas are
[17:05] actually the 10 rings and not the hand?"
[17:08] The ninjas not 10 rings. Um I guess you
[17:13] could say if
[17:15] you know if Oh, you're counting 10 here.
[17:17] One two.
[17:20] I see 10. Uh, so you're saying that
[17:23] these humans on screen are
[17:25] representations of
[17:28] the of WW's
[17:31] metallic alien metal rings.
[17:34] Cool theory. I I I need more. I request
[17:37] elaboration.
[17:39] Um, Triple Ogle 12 saying, "What will
[17:45] Russo's work with Marvel after Secret
[17:47] Wars?" Uh it may be a while before we
[17:50] see them work with them again. They're
[17:52] expensive directors. Um and you only
[17:55] really need them when you have huge cast
[17:57] movies because their best skill set I
[17:59] think as filmmakers are balancing the
[18:01] egos on a set. So only when you need
[18:04] massive cast movies with a lot of big
[18:06] egos who were people coming back from
[18:09] the Infinity Saga movies is when you
[18:11] need the Russos. There are other great
[18:13] directors like Destin Daniel [ __ ] who
[18:15] I would rather be given a third movie
[18:17] than the Russos be given a seventh.
[18:21] Uh 27 Dan saying, "Do you think
[18:23] Tombstone will play a big role in the
[18:25] movie since he was not shown in the
[18:26] trailer?" Okay, here's a question I
[18:28] really want to ask you guys all about.
[18:30] Was it Keith David or was it Marvin
[18:32] Jones III? Most of you think it was for
[18:34] sure Keith David and are screaming at me
[18:36] for even suggesting it would be anyone
[18:38] else. Guys, I heard Keith David, but I
[18:41] also hear Marvin Jones III. You just
[18:43] don't know Marvin Jones III. And I guess
[18:45] you skipped on YouTube past the
[18:47] Breakfast Club clip that I showed you
[18:48] where his voice sounds d exactly like
[18:51] the voice that we hear in the trailer.
[18:53] Um, Marvin Jones the third is playing
[18:55] Tombstone in the movie. I get it. You've
[18:57] heard Keith David's voice from Rick and
[18:59] Morty and so many other things way more.
[19:01] So, that's what's in your head. and and
[19:03] you watched a couple other videos where
[19:05] people said it was Keith David and now
[19:06] you have this audio paridolia and you
[19:08] can't hear any other voice other than
[19:09] Keith David, but I'm I'm telling you, I
[19:12] I' I've worked in this line of work a
[19:14] lot and and I have to keep my mind open
[19:16] to other possibilities and I think it's
[19:18] just as likely that it's Tombstone. In
[19:20] the in the YouTube clip, it says uh
[19:23] narrator who says these ridiculous
[19:25] things about the life stages of spiders.
[19:28] Um, you're also those of you who are
[19:30] saying that like spiders do have three
[19:32] life cycles are also textually and
[19:35] factually wrong. Uh, the narrator is
[19:37] incorrect here. I know you you saw some
[19:41] other Twitter thread that said that egg,
[19:43] spiderling, and adult are three life
[19:45] cycles. First off, no, they're not
[19:47] cycles, they're stages. And B, no,
[19:50] they're also not stages of a spider's
[19:52] actual life. Spiderling and adult are
[19:54] not two distinct stages of a spider's
[19:56] life. It's a very weird line. Just admit
[19:58] it. Just admit it that the screenwriters
[20:00] either are writing a character to be
[20:02] factually wrong or the screenwriters are
[20:03] wrong. It's weird to put in the trailer.
[20:06] Um uh but I think it's going to be
[20:10] Marvin Jones III in some other weird
[20:12] context. Um personally, uh Anowak
[20:16] beatbox saying if Bruce turns into
[20:18] Greyhulk, people might say, "Where's the
[20:20] green?" Just like in lanterns. You know,
[20:21] we're going to have a thumbnail that
[20:23] says that. I will make sure there's a
[20:26] thumbnail. Uh, I'd prefer Green Hulk
[20:28] versus Greyhulk. Anyone? Berg, if you're
[20:30] in the chat, can you put up a poll for
[20:32] Green Hulk versus Greyhulk? I want to
[20:34] know the results of it. I've missed some
[20:37] of these uh super chats coming through
[20:40] here, guys. I'm sorry about that. Um, so
[20:43] I'm going to try to answer some other
[20:44] ones. Um, let's see. Brazilionaire 801
[20:48] thanks for your super chat saying random
[20:51] Spidey Sony Punisher Netflix Hulk
[20:54] Universal and Gan Gray Fox characters
[20:56] representing the four non-D Disney
[20:57] corners of the Marvel universe colliding
[20:59] for the first time in the MCU. I like
[21:02] that observation. That's fun. Um,
[21:07] Slugger Slugged Sumo, thanks for your
[21:11] super chat saying, "What's your best
[21:12] case scenario with the Hulk/ Bruce in
[21:14] Brand New Day?" a green savage Hulk uh
[21:17] whose um whose abilities are brought
[21:20] about by Gan Gray tampering with his
[21:23] mind and opening parts of his
[21:24] subconscious.
[21:26] Um
[21:30] guys, thanks for joining us. We're we're
[21:32] just answering some unresolved questions
[21:33] we all had after Spider-Man Brand New
[21:36] Day's incredible trailer.
[21:40] Uh, Enigma Reed, thank you for your
[21:42] super chat saying, "Not really a theory,
[21:45] just a fun what if to think about. What
[21:46] if Satie Synync is a Mary Jane variant
[21:48] whose world is ending an incursion and
[21:50] is seeking help or sanctuary? 0%
[21:53] happening. Just a fun thought." I agree.
[21:54] It is a really fun thought. And that was
[21:56] like where my head was at for a long
[21:58] time after Sadie Sync was announced. I
[22:00] wanted her to be a Mayday Parker uh from
[22:04] another universe or just a Mary Jane
[22:06] variant. Uh, that makes more sense for a
[22:08] movie that's going to be setting up
[22:09] Doomsday, but I think you're right. I
[22:11] think it is just going to be 0%
[22:13] happening.
[22:14] Um, Rantel Moore saying, "Does Peter sit
[22:17] upside down with a via sticky butt
[22:19] hair?" Butt sticky question mark. Yeah,
[22:23] people are like, "He's not he's he's got
[22:28] to be sitting on this upside down
[22:29] somehow." Um, I think all parts of his
[22:32] body can just get clingy. He could just
[22:34] like
[22:35] a bunch of web and then just sit in it.
[22:37] You know, when you dip um a sugar plum
[22:40] in a bunch of frosting and stick it to
[22:41] your gingerbread house. He could have
[22:43] pulled one of those moves, but it's a
[22:45] good question.
[22:49] Let's see.
[22:52] Uh Javi or Javi Blueey saying typoid
[22:56] Mary or Spider Queen? Not Jean. again,
[22:59] someone else who's like dead set on it
[23:02] not being Gan Gray. That's fine. Uh,
[23:05] that's fine. We We'll see. We don't know
[23:06] for sure. I If it's not Gan Gray, I also
[23:09] don't think it's either of these two
[23:10] characters. Personally, personally, I
[23:13] don't think her powers have anything to
[23:14] do with Spider or anything. Um, but I
[23:17] appreciate your super chat. Villian Jew
[23:20] saying, "Two streams in a week. God
[23:23] dang. Spider trailer is a gift that
[23:25] keeps on giving me waifu." Um, actually
[23:27] we did three streams this week. Yeah, we
[23:30] did one on Tuesday. Yeah, Tuesday to
[23:33] talk about those one to two second uh
[23:35] clips that were being shown. Yeah, we're
[23:37] really just like I know a lot of you
[23:39] guys are on YouTube right now. So, I
[23:40] just want to join you guys for these
[23:41] conversations and uh and get your
[23:44] thoughts on all this stuff. So, but it's
[23:46] really fun to been able to do this.
[23:47] We're not going to do this all the time.
[23:48] Like I'll be out of town next Friday, so
[23:50] I won't be doing another office chat.
[23:52] Maybe in a few weeks we'll do another
[23:54] one of these. Uh Tanner Probable
[23:58] um saying at the end of the Shani movie
[24:00] um sister recreated the 10 rings group.
[24:03] Could this be them instead? Oh, since
[24:04] the hand was destroyed. Yeah, I think a
[24:07] valid question. I just think the the
[24:09] look of these guys is how Frank Miller
[24:12] drew the hand. Uh, I think it's it's
[24:14] hard to look at them as anything other
[24:16] than the hand, but I I do think that
[24:18] this is just going to be part of like a
[24:20] rapid montage where either Peter or
[24:22] Manspider
[24:24] becomes uh like just kind of runs
[24:27] through a bunch of scenarios where he's
[24:28] fighting a bunch of other people, but
[24:29] all of this looks hyper stylized and not
[24:32] like objective reality that Peter's
[24:33] going through. So, a dream sequence,
[24:35] some kind of toxin based hallucination,
[24:38] um, either brought about by Peter's own
[24:39] man spider transformation or or
[24:41] something uh, Scorpion stings him with
[24:43] or something Gan Gray puts in his head.
[24:45] I I think he I think it's weird that the
[24:47] hand would attack him in broad daylight
[24:48] like this. Um, so I I do think something
[24:52] else weird is going on here.
[24:55] Melted many saying, "I think it's going
[24:57] to be loosely follow the other. Hope
[25:00] so." Um,
[25:03] I don't know the exact context of what
[25:04] you're asking right now, but if if other
[25:06] people have thoughts on this in the
[25:07] chat, engage with Melted Mini. Engage.
[25:10] King JVTV. Will Peter have visions or
[25:13] hear Madame Web's voice? I love everyone
[25:16] who wants Madame Webb to be in this
[25:18] movie. I my heart goes out to you. Um, I
[25:23] for them to do a new version of Madame
[25:25] Web this soon, I think would be a pretty
[25:28] big move by Sony. I'm not saying we'll
[25:30] never get like Madame Web, but it's just
[25:32] like in our heads. Madame Webb just came
[25:34] out in 2024, you know, like this movie
[25:37] was the script was being written while
[25:40] Madame Webb was still in post-prouction.
[25:42] So, I just don't think they're going to
[25:43] do the Dakota Johnson version of Madame
[25:45] Webb. And I think sometime in the
[25:46] distant future we get like an old, you
[25:48] know, elderly Madame Webb. I just think
[25:50] in this movie might be a little too soon
[25:52] for it. Iron Dad. Um, good luck to the
[25:56] arachnophobes watching this movie. Is it
[25:59] a better story for this movie and
[26:01] trilogy Bernett and MJ to learn that
[26:02] Peter is Spidey or not?
[26:05] I h that's a good question. I I don't
[26:08] know enough about this story to say
[26:09] whether it would properly serve that
[26:11] story. I don't need Peter to be a
[26:14] stranger for uh to Ned and MJ for that
[26:17] long. Um
[26:20] I'm okay. Uh I'm okay um them being
[26:24] friends again. Um I I just think it's
[26:26] they're so good and sweet together. I I
[26:28] like I also don't know how many more Tom
[26:31] Holland Spider-Man movies we're going to
[26:32] get. So like if you reunite them here.
[26:35] Yeah. I I guess we're assumed to get
[26:37] another trilogy of it, but like pretty
[26:38] soon the fifth movie you need to have a
[26:42] Miles and Peter movie. You know, we got
[26:44] to get Miles and Gwen in the picture
[26:45] here. So, either they never find out and
[26:48] Peter's okay with just letting them live
[26:49] their lives or um or they find out and
[26:53] they're just like, you know, friends who
[26:55] are part of Peter's life and Peter's
[26:57] just kind of okay with MJ not being his
[26:59] like, you know, love and soulmate or
[27:01] just someone he'll come back to later in
[27:03] his life. Uh Chris Mentor saying, "Yeah,
[27:05] wasn't Typoid Mary and Iron Fist?" There
[27:07] was a version of the Typoid Mary story
[27:09] line in uh in in the Netflix era of
[27:13] Marvel shows. You're correct. Um that's
[27:17] uh there was also Typhoid Mary and
[27:18] Electra. And yeah, one of the things we
[27:21] talk about in the sneak peek that's
[27:22] coming out on Sunday is like
[27:25] just the moniker of Typhoid Mary and the
[27:28] historical meaning of Typhoid Mary and
[27:31] who that person was in history. I think
[27:33] might just give some Sony execs some
[27:36] pause to put the Marvel version of
[27:38] Typhoid Mary in a movie. There's just
[27:40] like it's just like too specific of a
[27:44] deep cut to Marvel. Not like a deep cut,
[27:46] that's not the right word. It's just
[27:48] something that like I just don't see
[27:50] them putting in an international
[27:53] release that they need to make a billion
[27:54] dollars. I just think it's not why you
[27:56] you wouldn't cast um you wouldn't cast
[27:59] Satie Sink for that role, I think, is
[28:01] really what I'm thinking. There's a lot
[28:03] of other actresses who could play a
[28:05] really cool version of Typhoid Mary. I I
[28:07] just think Satie Sink based off of the
[28:09] roles we've seen her play in uh Stranger
[28:12] Things in the Whale in the that Taylor
[28:15] Swift all Too Well music video like she
[28:17] is kind of like a better Marvel girl
[28:19] Jean Gray than a lot of these other
[28:20] options that are being theorized. Um
[28:24] Feice OG saying oh just thanks for your
[28:26] donation. Uh Dan 82 saying in the
[28:29] trailer you can see Peter falling over a
[28:32] different scene of him in the alley.
[28:33] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's uh I
[28:36] think you're referring to around here.
[28:42] Yeah.
[28:45] Okay. So, like there you can see Peter
[28:47] falling over and a different scene of
[28:48] him in the alley.
[28:53] Yeah. I think there's a couple scenes
[28:54] that are like spliced together here. Um
[28:57] and I don't really know.
[29:00] I think there's at least two scenes that
[29:01] are happening. Um,
[29:04] and I don't know if the scorpion in this
[29:07] movie is going to be the one to poison
[29:09] him. I think the physiological changes
[29:11] that he's going through are like an
[29:13] adaptive part of his evolution. It's his
[29:15] it's his own genes that are reacting to
[29:17] his environment in a new way. I think it
[29:20] gives Michael Mando Scorpion too much
[29:22] power to make him the the one whose
[29:24] poison is solely responsible for what
[29:26] Peter's going through.
[29:29] Um,
[29:33] Firestar, I think, is the theory here,
[29:35] from Brazilaire. Um, yeah, that was
[29:38] another name that I threw out there.
[29:41] Another mutant, by the way, because I
[29:43] think she's technically a mutant from
[29:44] that NBC animated show. Um, yeah,
[29:49] again, all of these theories I I don't
[29:51] see as invalid. I just think like we're
[29:54] really really getting stretching hard.
[29:57] We're bending over backwards so hard to
[29:59] make it not Jean Gray. Uh, Rantmore
[30:02] said, "Will MCU ever adopt spider totem
[30:05] mythology?"
[30:07] Did they kind of start to do that in
[30:09] Madame Web a little bit with Ezekiel
[30:11] Sims? No, I guess they never really used
[30:12] the term totem that specifically. Um, I
[30:16] think there was a plan at some point for
[30:18] Sony to do that. I think that was going
[30:20] to be where they were headed with like
[30:22] Madame Web Web and Craven and then just
[30:24] those two movies bombing. They kind of
[30:26] moved away from it. I don't I I don't
[30:29] know if um like Kevin Feige is that
[30:31] interested in it or any of the Marvel
[30:32] executives are that interested in it.
[30:36] Uh Elijah Pericone says, "Will the
[30:38] appearance of the hand mean that viewers
[30:40] will need to see the Defender saga
[30:41] before this movie?" Um if you haven't
[30:45] already watched it, what's wrong with
[30:46] you? No, I'm kidding. Like I I don't
[30:49] know. I I think you can watch a new
[30:51] Rockstar video and we'll kind of catch
[30:52] you up on it. It just seems like the
[30:53] hand in this movie is different than the
[30:57] the hand that we saw in the Defenders
[31:00] saga, right? They look completely
[31:02] different. It it I think these are more
[31:04] just like kind of warriors that Peter is
[31:07] fighting through whatever vision he's
[31:10] going through here or whatever process
[31:12] he's going through here. I don't think
[31:13] this is going to be the same group of
[31:15] Nou who is fighting like you know the
[31:17] defenders where you got to imagine
[31:19] Sigourney Weaver being their boss at
[31:21] some point.
[31:24] Uh, Lost Chief asking, "Could the
[31:26] narrator be real and part of the dream
[31:28] hallucination sequence that you've
[31:29] theorized about? It would explain the
[31:30] scientifically wrong dialogue." Thank
[31:32] you for saying scientifically wrong.
[31:35] Also, Frank Miller's The Hand equals uh
[31:37] Frank Miller's Electra. Oh, like if we
[31:40] have Frank Miller's version of The Hand,
[31:41] we could also see Frank Miller's version
[31:42] of Electra. I guess I could see that.
[31:45] Um, I just don't think they're going to
[31:47] put an Electra in this movie. It's
[31:48] already got so much going on in this
[31:50] movie. so much going on and and I think
[31:54] the one saving grace from all these
[31:56] cameos in it is they're they're just
[31:58] kind of like masked warriors that
[31:59] Peter's just kind of going through. Um
[32:01] so if we have to get to know any of
[32:03] these people, the movie's going to be
[32:04] really oversted. But like los chief,
[32:07] you're also saying narrator being real
[32:08] and part of the dream. Uh narrator
[32:11] referring to spiders have three life
[32:13] cycles. The voice of either Marvin Jones
[32:15] III or some of you think Keith David.
[32:18] Um, I don't know why he'd be called a
[32:20] narrator, but it sounds like it's
[32:21] playing from some kind of audio source,
[32:23] like uh Peter's watching a documentary
[32:25] or something like that, or it's like the
[32:27] documentary is part of the dream
[32:30] hallucination that he's going through
[32:32] and it's freaking him out. I It's so
[32:34] confusing to me, guys. Like, I I'm kind
[32:36] of here I have so many questions. I I
[32:39] really want to know what you guys think
[32:40] cuz I I can't make sense of it. Why that
[32:42] character group called a hair a
[32:43] narrator? why scientifically inaccurate
[32:47] information is in a trailer like this.
[32:49] It's weird.
[32:51] Um, no. I don't I don't think Mefesto is
[32:54] going to be in this. I don't need Misto
[32:56] in this story. We've gotten Meisto in
[32:58] the MCU. We've won. So, I'm not I'm kind
[33:01] of done saying here's Misto. Is Meto
[33:03] over there? We already have him in the
[33:05] MCU and and I don't think this movie
[33:07] needs Sasha Baron Cohen in it, too. Uh,
[33:11] two easy designs. Will Gan Gray unlock
[33:13] old memories for MJ of Peter for MJ? I
[33:17] love that theory. I think that could be
[33:19] the case. Yeah, like
[33:23] Jean Gray could be how these characters
[33:26] remember each other. She could bypass
[33:29] the runes of cough call that is still
[33:31] affecting them.
[33:34] Um,
[33:36] yeah, I I could see that. I I hope
[33:38] that's the case. And I hope that's what
[33:40] like MJ does for like Frank Castle. Kind
[33:42] of silences the memories of his kids or
[33:44] remembers good things about them so he
[33:46] just doesn't hear them screaming get
[33:47] them daddy in his ear all the time.
[33:50] Melted Mini saying the other story line
[33:52] just Oh, I see. Just felt very on the
[33:54] nose with all the talk of rebirth and
[33:55] gaining powers. Lots of talk about
[33:57] evolving too. Okay, I could see that. I
[33:59] could see that.
[34:03] Wiggly Stardust saying Satie Sync is
[34:05] reprising her role from the whale in
[34:07] Brand New Day. Oh, I don't know about
[34:09] that.
[34:11] No, I'm saying Satie fits Firestar, not
[34:13] Jean, who should be taller than
[34:14] Wolverine.
[34:17] Well, we don't know who Wolverine is yet
[34:18] in the MCU, I guess. But his amazing
[34:20] friends makes more for Francis story to
[34:22] usher in more of a mutant saga. I get we
[34:23] all have like a different version of
[34:25] like what feels appropriate and what
[34:27] feels right in our heads for Tom Holland
[34:29] Peter at this stage of his journey, but
[34:32] wait till you see the actor's
[34:33] performance. We haven't even seen Sadi
[34:34] Sink's face on screen in any of this.
[34:37] Um, also the height. I mean, Hugh
[34:40] Jackman was taller than most of the
[34:41] people on screen, and you can't tell me
[34:43] that he was a not appropriate Wolverine.
[34:45] He he made the Marvel Cinematic
[34:47] Landscape what it is. I disagree. Um,
[34:52] Lee Devil Union, what are the chances
[34:54] Net or MJ will find the note instead of
[34:55] Peter telling them in the first place?
[34:57] Referring to this depressing, sad note
[35:00] that Peter reads.
[35:04] Yeah, I think they're going to be
[35:07] confused when they do read that note.
[35:10] But yeah, I think this note is gonna
[35:12] come up.
[35:15] Plot twist. It's the Foot Clan and the
[35:18] Teenage Mutant Ninja Mut Ninja Turtles
[35:19] are coming to help. Yes, don't forget
[35:21] when the hand was introduced, they were
[35:23] part of the same equation of the foot uh
[35:26] the the ninja villains of Teenage Mutant
[35:28] Ninja Turtles.
[35:30] I love that.
[35:32] Do you think we're going to get a
[35:33] trilogy? Yeah, I guess we're going to
[35:36] get a Brand New Day or The Day Trilogy.
[35:39] Or is Doomsday part of that trilogy? I I
[35:42] don't know. But I do think we're going
[35:43] to get the day trilogy now. Hey, thanks
[35:45] for your donation, Manny.
[35:48] Mr. Dresh, when it comes to the X-Men,
[35:51] would you rather solo movies that lead
[35:53] to a teamup film or an X-Men movie from
[35:54] the start and then solo films after?
[35:58] I think at this point we are going to
[36:00] get an X-Men movie first. I'd prefer an
[36:02] X-Men movie first just because Marvel
[36:04] needs these things to be popular. They
[36:07] if you were to start with like what a
[36:09] rogue movie or or a Storm movie or a
[36:11] Cyclops movie, whatever it is, it's not
[36:14] enough. I think uh we need to see the
[36:16] X-Men as a group, the interpersonal
[36:18] relationships and the dynamics. It needs
[36:20] to be a team movie. Um I think for min
[36:23] for most general audiences
[36:26] saying what role do you think Punisher
[36:27] is going to be? I think he's helping
[36:30] Jean.
[36:32] Like he's the he's trying to stop
[36:35] Spider-Man from stopping this tank,
[36:36] right? So, by that logic, if the tank is
[36:39] being used to break Gan out of this
[36:40] facility, Punisher wants to help in that
[36:42] process. And I you do see Frank later in
[36:45] the trailer right around here where
[36:47] doesn't it kind of look like a a similar
[36:49] facility where he's just saying, "Hey,
[36:51] lay off of this girl. Uh, let her be." I
[36:55] think he's going to be kind of this
[36:56] guardian figure to Jean Gray.
[36:59] I do think it is going to be Jean.
[37:01] Thanks for the gift memberships.
[37:04] Uh do explo
[37:06] just notice the left hand we get out of
[37:08] his web stuff. Yeah, we talked about
[37:09] that in today's video. It's it's you
[37:12] can't look. It's tough. If you lighten
[37:15] this image, what kind of looks like
[37:18] moldy skin is just the webbing that's in
[37:21] the foreground over it. And it is kind
[37:23] of in shadow, but if you look at it, you
[37:25] could be like, "Wait, no, that's just
[37:26] his skin. That's his skin that's doing
[37:28] that. It's just webbing. It's webbing
[37:30] that's between us and the hand. But it
[37:32] is dark enough that it shouldn't be it
[37:35] shouldn't be that much in shadow away
[37:37] from this light source if the light's
[37:39] going to be coming from this side
[37:41] pointing in. So I I do think this is a
[37:43] weird dark hand. There's something weird
[37:45] going on here. Thanks for the donation.
[37:48] Lance basketball. basketball saying,
[37:51] "Thematically, man spider works as an
[37:53] emblem of a fear that without his life
[37:55] as Peter, the human part of his identity
[37:56] is lost. Just life as a spider."
[37:58] Excellent observation, basketball.
[38:00] Basketball. Yeah, I think you're on to
[38:02] something there. That really having Ned
[38:06] and MJ and M and Aunt May in his life
[38:09] are what really brought the humanity and
[38:11] the spider bite is something that
[38:13] naturally takes him into this beastly
[38:15] direction.
[38:17] Christian unpronouncable in the chat
[38:19] giving out gift memberships. Thanks,
[38:20] Christian. Was not expecting it in our
[38:23] live stream on a Friday. This is the
[38:24] second office hours we've kind of done.
[38:27] I'm going to try to do these at least
[38:28] once a month if I can. It's just nice to
[38:30] be able to connect with you guys when it
[38:31] feels like there's a lot of lingering
[38:32] questions.
[38:34] Manny asking or I think the makeup
[38:37] department has them all looking older,
[38:39] so they might be done with college and
[38:40] just moving back. What do you guys
[38:41] think? Yeah, I think we must be four
[38:44] years later when we're seeing these
[38:45] characters. Um, Tom certainly looks
[38:49] older.
[38:52] I think it's kind of the hair as well.
[38:54] He's got this like longer Andrew
[38:56] Garfieldesque hair. Um,
[39:01] Ned has the glasses in a way that just
[39:02] kind of makes him look older. But this
[39:04] is just this is how old the actors look
[39:05] in real life, too. But I do think we are
[39:07] like after college and they're moving
[39:09] back to New York. I just want to know.
[39:10] Okay, so after MIT, what are they doing?
[39:12] Where are they working? Are they working
[39:13] for Oscorp? What what what's their job
[39:16] and their life now?
[39:20] How do you think he got the material for
[39:22] his suit? I think you're probably
[39:24] referring to Scorpion, right?
[39:28] Stay out of my way. Where is he? Yeah, I
[39:32] want to know, too. I want to know how he
[39:33] got out of prison. Who's bankrolling
[39:35] him? Um, this looks like the kind of
[39:38] tech that was in the DODC vault. That
[39:40] was Adrien Tombse that he scavenged from
[39:42] things like the Chitauri battle in New
[39:44] York. Uh or Stark Tech. Uh but there has
[39:47] to be some other kind of arms dealer
[39:48] who's building cool exo suits like this
[39:51] with giant scorpion tails. Um oh, this
[39:55] looks like Berkeley building. B E R K L
[39:59] E Y. You can see it a little bit more
[40:01] clearly now.
[40:03] Um
[40:05] yeah, this kind of thing isn't just
[40:07] built by anybody.
[40:11] Who is Tom Holland's trainer? He looks
[40:13] ripped.
[40:15] Want to hear Net Poto. Um I don't I
[40:19] don't know what Tom Holland's workout
[40:20] regimen is, but he's always been in in
[40:22] really good shape. I mean, he he
[40:25] was like a kid who was in the cast of
[40:27] Billy Elliot and had to like dance and
[40:29] like I don't know, probably not eight
[40:31] shows a week cuz there's four of them in
[40:32] that rotation, but yeah, he's he's
[40:35] always been like a physical guy, a
[40:37] physical performer. Um, and if you have
[40:40] been in this, this is your whole career,
[40:42] like you don't really have an off
[40:44] seasonason. You kind of have to always
[40:45] stay in shape. Uh, so yeah, but he
[40:48] definitely is is gained some muscle mass
[40:51] for for this movie.
[40:56] Um, oh, you're asking. Oh, okay. Thanks
[40:59] for the clarification, Spidey. The
[41:01] raised webbing seems hard to make. Okay,
[41:03] so you can't see it that clearly here. I
[41:07] guess here. Yeah, you can kind of see
[41:08] the raised webbing here.
[41:11] Um, look, Peter's pretty talented with
[41:14] like sewing, with
[41:17] costume construction, with with the
[41:20] suit. Like, I think he just spends a lot
[41:21] of time doing it. Now, the money to be
[41:24] able to afford to do it. The guy also
[41:26] has a, you know, $1,000 smartphone here.
[41:29] Uh, I don't know what he's doing for a
[41:30] living, how he's able to afford living
[41:32] where he's living. Maybe there's some
[41:34] like money that Tony Stark left him his
[41:36] will that he But like if his bank
[41:38] account got erased from the runes of
[41:40] cough call spell, does he still have
[41:41] that? Uh does he have some kind of
[41:45] internship somewhere that's like helping
[41:46] him make ends meet? Is he just taking
[41:50] because I mean I don't even think now in
[41:52] 2020 whatever um a Daily Bugle
[41:56] uh photographer could could even make a
[41:58] living, you know? So,
[42:02] I feel like if he were like a graphic
[42:04] designer working for the Daily Bugle, if
[42:06] you're an intern, maybe maybe he could
[42:08] make some money there. Maybe he has a
[42:10] deal with like the landlord. Um,
[42:13] but, you know, over time, I think he
[42:16] could like scavenge. He could find
[42:17] stuff. He could get in and out of places
[42:19] quickly and and pick up gear from that
[42:22] have fallen off trucks. Iron Dad saying,
[42:25] "Brace myself for only banner in two
[42:27] scenes to explain the mutation and no
[42:28] Hulk." A but for Satie Sink to not be
[42:31] Jean and someone else we aren't even
[42:33] guessing. Yeah, I think that's likelier
[42:35] than some of the other names that I'm
[42:36] hearing guest. If it's not Jean Gray,
[42:38] it's just someone we none of us are even
[42:40] really talking about. Um
[42:43] yeah, I I I can't blame you for like
[42:45] wanting to hedge your bets because we've
[42:48] just been like let down before. Um, but
[42:51] I do think if you're gonna put Mark
[42:52] Ruffalo in something, you you're gonna
[42:54] spend the money to have his Hulk form.
[42:58] Could Tras already be working with the
[43:00] DoD?
[43:02] Oh, so saying, are we going to get
[43:04] sentinels? Bolivar Tras. Yeah, that's a
[43:09] I hope so. I hope somewhere there's
[43:11] master mold that's just printing
[43:12] sentinels somewhere. I hope that's
[43:14] already out there.
[43:17] Alex White feed saying potential
[43:21] Daredevil mention from Frank setting up
[43:24] SM5.
[43:27] Oh, I see Daredevil mention from Frank
[43:29] setting up a a fifth Spider-Man movie.
[43:32] Uh maybe um I just think Daredevil is
[43:36] going to be in this movie. Like I think
[43:37] it's ridiculous that we're all
[43:39] pretending like he's not going to be in
[43:40] the movie. Get out of here, Doc.
[43:45] I don't know why this is on screen.
[43:51] Let's see.
[43:56] Just it was there and then it went away.
[44:02] I don't [ __ ] care.
[44:05] Uh, another question. How could they
[44:08] introduce Oscorp? I feel like Peter is
[44:10] smart enough to remember that Norman
[44:12] Osborne killed his aunt. So, there's no
[44:13] way he'd fully trust this universe's
[44:15] version of Norman either. I think he'd
[44:18] be okay with trusting this universe's
[44:19] version of Norman because he understands
[44:21] well enough that variants are different
[44:22] people from different realities,
[44:24] different backgrounds that just kind of
[44:26] have like different moral alignments. I
[44:28] think if like he had a boss who was
[44:30] really convinced him that like Oscorp is
[44:33] trying to be like the new Stark tech of
[44:35] this universe and is just trying to put
[44:36] a suit of armor around the world. I I I
[44:38] could see this Peter getting um getting
[44:42] convinced that that person is worthy of
[44:45] working with. Thanks for your donation.
[44:47] Hulk archer
[44:49] raise webbing he got Aunt May to help.
[44:52] Okay. Uh Jonah Cassell saying, "Do you
[44:56] think going with a man spider storyline
[44:57] is risky? In my opinion, it's one of the
[44:59] more goofy story lines in the comics and
[45:01] may throw off the more casual movie
[45:03] audience." Yeah, I think you're right.
[45:06] Um I I I think like that's that was kind
[45:09] of my concern with all this is that like
[45:13] how do you
[45:15] how do you convince like average movie
[45:17] goers that it isn't now just like a
[45:18] freaky kind of horror the fly type
[45:21] thing? Um, I I could see why they'd be
[45:24] afraid to put something like that in a
[45:25] trailer. I just think it'd be weird to
[45:28] like
[45:30] um
[45:31] to
[45:33] to put that in a movie, too. But I don't
[45:36] know. Maybe it's going to look really
[45:37] cool. Maybe Tom Holland just pulls it
[45:39] off. Um, I don't want to assume that
[45:42] that's that that's going to be something
[45:44] that's awful, but I I can I get the
[45:47] concern.
[45:48] Wild cat Kyle saying, "Do you think he's
[45:50] working with the DODC to make rent?" Oh,
[45:52] yeah. Could be. Especially if you look
[45:56] at this screen here. Like, why would he
[45:58] allow himself to get scanned like this?
[46:00] This is crazy.
[46:02] Um, and he's definitely sitting with
[46:04] Trel Tilman in that shot.
[46:08] But he's not like Peter in the shot with
[46:10] Tal Tilman. He's Spider-Man.
[46:13] So yeah.
[46:19] saying, "What are the odds we see
[46:20] Daredevil?" I I put it as at above above
[46:24] 100%. Above 50%.
[46:26] Uh Zashian saying, "I'm praying for a
[46:30] symbiote Spidey versus Hulk final
[46:32] battle." You mean black suited
[46:33] Spider-Man? That could be what's uh
[46:36] being hidden here is that he's actually
[46:38] wearing the black suit. I just think
[46:39] that's going to be in Secret Wars. I
[46:41] don't know if it's going to be in this
[46:42] movie.
[46:44] Ned might drop another D star.
[46:48] Uh, DN A MC. Am I the one who doesn't
[46:52] like the man spider idea? I think it's
[46:54] going to freak out a lot of casual fans
[46:55] who come to watch a two- armed
[46:56] Spider-Man. I don't know if they're
[46:57] coming to watch a two armed Spider-Man,
[47:00] per se, and wouldn't have an open mind
[47:02] to something freaky and weird happening
[47:04] to their boy Tom Holland, but I think
[47:06] you are right. I think there are some
[47:08] people who are freaked out by the idea
[47:10] of that. Part of me I I I think we might
[47:13] see him in that form briefly in the
[47:15] movie, but if that's going to be like
[47:16] where it's all going, uh where like the
[47:19] major final battle is him in that eight
[47:22] limbmed state, I think it is going to be
[47:24] a pretty bold swing that like this movie
[47:26] is going to have to do a lot to make
[47:27] audiences okay with that.
[47:31] That's just my thinking.
[47:36] Um,
[47:39] Billy Boy saying it's not going to be
[47:41] Bruce Banner. Hulk is on the backpack.
[47:49] Just putting up some other stuff you
[47:51] guys are saying.
[47:55] So, I really appreciate you guys
[47:57] watching. Um, I assume you watched our
[47:59] our trailer breakdown 48 minutes. I I
[48:02] really have to shout out the real heroes
[48:04] of that video. Joshua Steven Herd, Abby
[48:07] Fel, Devin Clearary, Erin Kerion, Ed
[48:11] Vilderman worked on that. Uh Kelly Joel
[48:16] worked on that. Um let's see. I want to
[48:19] make sure I shout out everybody who who
[48:22] made that happen.
[48:34] Well, they're in the credits of that
[48:35] video, but I feel bad that I didn't know
[48:38] everybody was going to be I didn't know
[48:39] how long it was going to be, so I didn't
[48:40] know how many editors they were going to
[48:42] have to put put on it, but it was uh
[48:46] they did such great work. Like I always
[48:48] uh review a video before it publishes to
[48:50] the channel. And sometimes, you know, I
[48:53] I have to give a good amount of notes
[48:56] just because a lot of times I just
[48:58] didn't make it clear in in the script
[49:00] what asset to show. And um but in this
[49:03] one and especially lately, I I I'm just
[49:06] having to give fewer and fewer notes and
[49:07] it's just because our editors are so
[49:09] good. And in this one, a 48minute video,
[49:11] I only had to give like three or four
[49:13] notes for the whole thing, which is just
[49:14] incredible. So, um that's that's just
[49:18] really our editors just being amazing.
[49:20] and I wouldn't be able to do anything
[49:21] that I do without them. Damn it, I can't
[49:24] find our listing of like everyone who
[49:28] worked on that. But yes, they made it
[49:32] great.
[49:34] Uh Zilly Goo is saying, "I agree it's
[49:37] going to be Gan Gray, but I'm worried
[49:38] about how they're going to have her in
[49:40] this hardcore captivity when she's just
[49:41] going to go to Xavier's school."
[49:44] Um I want to know how that's going to
[49:46] play out.
[49:48] Well, I think there may be not that many
[49:52] mutants yet,
[49:54] and she's just one who's uh particularly
[49:57] dangerous and criminal in the way she's
[50:00] using her abilities. So that the DODC
[50:03] feels like they have to restrain her
[50:05] like this. And then after, you know, the
[50:09] next couple movies, Doomsday, Secret
[50:10] Wars, there could be more mutants who
[50:12] emerge through this kind of evolutionary
[50:14] process. And then you they don't even
[50:16] have rooms enough to lock up all of them
[50:18] like this. And then so you know, Charles
[50:21] Xavier is there to provide kind of a
[50:23] safe haven for them to go to school. I
[50:25] think it could I think it could play out
[50:27] like that.
[50:30] Could the cure for man spider at the end
[50:32] of the left behind symbiote of the PC?
[50:36] Okay. When you guys use too many things,
[50:38] I don't always know what you're talking
[50:40] about. Could the cure for man spider at
[50:42] the end be the left behind symbiote? Oh,
[50:44] I see. from the postredit scene of No
[50:45] Way Home, which can which he can go into
[50:49] the next Avengers with the symbiote.
[50:52] Um I
[50:55] I have a feeling that that little goo
[50:57] that was left on the bar top just isn't
[50:59] going to come back. Uh, I I think that
[51:02] they they aren't going to make room for
[51:04] a Venom or a symbiote in this movie.
[51:06] Again, just like even if it's not Gan
[51:08] Gray, even if like I'm completely wrong
[51:10] and mutants have nothing to do with this
[51:12] story, I still think adding
[51:15] uh venom and symbiotes with everything
[51:17] else going on in the movie makes that
[51:19] even more complicated. Then if it
[51:22] doesn't have to do with like genetics,
[51:23] but rather like this toxin symbiote
[51:27] that's going to kind of remind us of
[51:28] Spider-Man 3 from 2007, it just like it
[51:32] muddies and complicates what already
[51:33] from this trailer could be a very muddy
[51:35] and complicated story more than I think
[51:37] Gan Gray would.
[51:42] Hulk Darter with some thoughts here. Um,
[51:45] Melta Mini, I could see Mansider being a
[51:47] hallucination nightmare that he's too
[51:48] scared of the changes to him for
[51:49] whatever, possibly scorpion induced.
[51:51] Yeah, I think it could I think it's most
[51:53] likely going to be something like that.
[51:54] Like some kind of uh nightmare uh from
[51:57] some toxin from either his own
[52:00] pherommones or his his enzymes or
[52:03] whatever. He has his own kind of weird
[52:05] process that he's freaked out by uh or
[52:08] someone injects him with something or
[52:09] Gan Gray takes him through this. Yeah, I
[52:11] think it's going to be a nightmare
[52:13] hallucination. U but I do think he's
[52:16] going to be in the movie. I just there's
[52:18] been so I you can tell like
[52:21] when you see all the accounts there's
[52:23] like so much speculation. It means that
[52:25] someone working on this movie had some
[52:26] concept art that someone's cousin's
[52:28] roommate's brother saw and then enough
[52:31] people say it and then it's kind of like
[52:32] oh you could see how it was part of the
[52:34] movie but not a huge part of the movie.
[52:36] It was just like part of a concept art
[52:38] that they wanted that visual to be in
[52:40] the movie somewhere, but then it people
[52:42] run away with it and think that the
[52:43] whole plot's going to be about that.
[52:49] Um,
[52:58] yeah. Uh,
[53:02] tomorrow guys, we're going to have a um
[53:06] a special episode of the Road to
[53:10] Doomsday where we're talking about X-Men
[53:12] First Class. And uh I really am harping
[53:15] on the phrase children of the Atom
[53:17] because I do think that's going to be
[53:19] the phrase that the MCU uses to describe
[53:21] mutants a lot in the Mutant Saga. I I
[53:23] think it'd be a really cool thing to do
[53:25] and I think there's going to be some
[53:28] kind of an explanation coming out of
[53:29] what Franklin Richards does at the end
[53:31] of Battle World and I think Franklin
[53:32] Richards is going to say that phrase in
[53:34] Secret Wars and then that's going to be
[53:35] a big part of uh of the X-Men movie.
[53:39] Unknown nobody asking what if the DODC
[53:42] is working with Tombstone and sending
[53:43] Scorpion and Boomerang and Tarantula to
[53:45] capture Spider-Man until they can't and
[53:48] send Jean Gray. Uh, I don't know if the
[53:50] DoDC would work with these metahumans,
[53:54] uh, these enhanced people. I I think
[53:59] they just wouldn't trust them. They
[54:01] don't they don't have like they would
[54:02] trust their government forces more. I
[54:04] don't know if they subcontract out to
[54:06] other enhanced people. U, but I
[54:08] appreciate you trying to figure out how
[54:09] like this could all work because I think
[54:11] what you're really asking here is like
[54:13] how does it make sense that all these
[54:15] characters are in a movie together? Um,
[54:17] I I I get it why a lot of people feel
[54:19] like this is this is just too busy of a
[54:21] movie. Um, so like, okay, you can maybe
[54:25] just start grouping certain characters
[54:26] together and go maybe they're all
[54:28] working in league with each other.
[54:33] Uh, I'll stay on for a few more minutes,
[54:35] guys, but I got to get going. Um, so,
[54:39] um, if any of you are asking where our
[54:40] project Hail Mary breakdown is, that's
[54:42] what I need to go back and go finish
[54:44] writing right now cuz we're going to
[54:45] shoot that today. Uh, I love that movie.
[54:48] If you haven't seen that movie, go go
[54:50] watch that movie. It's wonderful and
[54:52] beautiful. You should spend part of your
[54:54] weekend watching it. And then it's a
[54:55] stunning, beautiful movie. Um, just Chad
[54:59] saying, "Could the body hopping person
[55:00] be the little inhuman mosaic? could uh
[55:03] he could jump from body to body at will
[55:06] in the comics.
[55:08] Oh, yeah. But I think it's Gene. I think
[55:11] it's Satie Sync's character who is who
[55:14] they're referring to here.
[55:18] Um, who do you think Peter was on a
[55:20] phone call before Ned entered the store?
[55:23] You're talking about here.
[55:32] Maybe he's calling his boss, asking for
[55:35] an advance on his paycheck.
[55:40] Good question, though. Who does Peter
[55:42] know well enough to call on the phone?
[55:43] Who do any of us know well enough to
[55:45] call on the phone? Send a text, you
[55:46] weirdo.
[55:49] All right, guys. I'm going to call it
[55:50] there. Uh, this has been a lot of fun.
[55:52] Hopefully, we were able to answer some
[55:54] additional questions. Um uh if you're
[55:57] watching this video after the fact. I
[55:59] try to do these office hours once a
[56:01] month. Um and it's a it's a privilege
[56:04] that I'm able to do this. A big thanks
[56:06] to Brian Kim and Joshua Steven Herd for
[56:08] troubleshooting our our live streaming
[56:10] software to uh fix some audio issues
[56:13] that we had on Wednesday. Um this has
[56:16] been a lot of fun to be able to hang out
[56:17] with you guys. Uh thanks for spending
[56:19] part of your Friday with me. Um have a
[56:22] great weekend and I'll see you guys next
[56:24] time. Bye-bye.
