This video from Deitrader Telugu introduces a trading journal concept and an accompanying Excel sheet designed to help stock market traders track their trades, emotions, and strategies. The presenter emphasizes that maintaining a journal is a life-changing practice that can transform a trader's psychology and improve decision-making.
Most traders face issues like overtrading, excessive risk, fear of greed, and fear of stop loss, which stem from a lack of structured tracking and self-awareness.
A trading journal is described as a diary of your entire trading journey, essential for intraday, options, swing trading, and stocks.
The provided Excel sheet automatically calculates monthly returns on total capital and tracks capital additions, helping traders monitor performance over the financial year.
Traders should note their emotions during trades, stop losses, targets, and strategies to identify patterns and mistakes.
Beginners often lack a methodology; writing down the logic behind each trade (e.g., resistance breakout) helps in understanding and refining strategies.
The presenter advises against blindly following tips, noting that success depends on how you handle trades, not just the calls themselves.
The journal includes fields for entry price, average price after adding positions, stop loss, target, and exit price, with P&L calculated automatically.
The journal covers a financial year (April 1 to March 31), and the presenter updates the Excel sheet annually, sharing links in comments and groups.
Fill in the journal after taking a trade, not during, to avoid distraction; review trades weekly or monthly to spot overtrading and other issues.
Maintaining the journal helped the presenter personally change, and it can warn traders against financial mistakes and help them grow.
The trading journal is a powerful tool for self-improvement in the stock market, enabling traders to track performance, emotions, and strategies, ultimately leading to better discipline and profitability.

13:51[00:00] Hello friends, welcome to Deitrader Telugu. This video is definitely life changing for those who want to grow in the stock market. I was learning different concepts in the initial days and trying them in the market.
[00:18] I understood what I was doing wrong and what I could do to become a better person in the stock market. Most of the people think this is not a strategy or concept.
[00:36] But trust me, this will change your entire psychology. What is the problem in the stock market now? How many YouTube channels and websites have this problem?
[00:48] It is not that problem. We all accept this. Same strategy, same strategy.
[01:00] another person deals with another. Another person may over trade after the trade is completed. Another person may take over quantity and take more risk.
[01:14] And fear of greed and fear of target hit. And fear of stop loss and fear of stop loss. You are making this mistake.
[01:28] today we are going to talk about a concept. Friends, what is the trading journal? It is the entire trading journey in a diary.
[01:43] I am going to give you an excel sheet with this video. trading intraday, option trading, swing trading, stocks, everyone should use this journal.
[02:00] We have to put efforts on how to represent our customers. use it and try to understand the changes that are coming.
[02:15] I am going to give you this excel sheet with this video. I will give you the trading capital. Once the financial year ends,
[02:27] I will update the trading journal in the comment section. But if you want to know other updates along with this,
[02:39] I will update the excel sheet in the comment section. you can join our trading group by clicking the link in the description.
[02:52] You can see the capital you are adding here. This will be updated automatically. The monthly return on the total capital will also be created here.
[03:05] I will explain the trading journal to you. and how to use this excel sheet Let's talk about it step by step.
[03:18] if you find our efforts valuable, and encourage our efforts. It is a recording of our work.
[03:34] your boss or HR will understand your activity. how much quality work you give, They will understand if you are efficient or not.
[03:48] If you are doing a business, You will understand the margin and cost of the business. you will have taken a trade after coming to the stock market.
[04:06] After trading many times, How was your emotion at that time? How many stop losses and targets did you set?
[04:20] strategies, Have you noted the trading you did? It will continue from here.
[04:32] This is a helpful element in my personal trading journey. Even the mistake I don't understand, This is the element I showed.
[04:45] Please watch till the end. if you take the first trade, If you take the third trade,
[04:57] Next segment. Are you buying stocks or selling? If you are buying futures, it is FB.
[05:11] If you are selling options, it is OS. At what time are you entering the trade? what is the option you are taking?
[05:24] or selling it. Are you doing futures? Then logic.
[05:36] Beginners don't have methodology. Or did you take it from your own conviction? How did you take it from your mind?
[05:48] Write it down in Telugu. write it down as you feel. After you understand some trades,
[06:01] let's say there is a channel that gives tips. Note down the tips they gave in the channel. you will understand their performance.
[06:13] I have not seen anyone in the stock market who took tips and filed income tax in so many years. It is good to have tips.
[06:26] Many times, they asked us in the comments section. Even in public, if we tell them to buy or sell,
[06:38] The reason why we are telling you what we are doing making adjustments and making videos, is that you should earn and develop on your own.
[06:50] everyone from highly successful people to beginners Our success is how we handle them. they will give you failure calls.
[07:03] there will be a difference between your handling and his handling. So, it is up to us to decide and who will be better in which segments.
[07:16] until we can handle everything, learn and then go to the next step. I will earn this much every day.
[07:29] I repeat, I don't know anyone who has followed tips in the stock market. and if they say that they have filed income tax to follow tips,
[07:41] But I have not seen anyone like that. Because, those who follow tips, and handle the risk.
[07:54] What strategy are we following? Are we following the panel stick breakout? Resistance, support breakout?
[08:06] enter that logic here and type. We feel all these after the end of the trade. Later, we are averaging up side.
[08:20] Or, averaging down side. if we add further, will we get average price? Again, we are not taking the trade.
[08:35] Here, we will not take the entry price once. We will mention the average price here. Let's say, I took the entry at 100 rupees.
[08:50] if my stop loss is near 90, So, the stop loss I am taking is 10 points. So, after adding 90,
[09:02] 20 percent is my target. in red, or did I exit manually? Even if I achieve the target or stop loss profitably,
[09:18] if I keep all these things near the exit price, If I achieve the stop loss, I have to put 90 rupees here. I am exiting at any other price other than the target stop loss.
[09:34] And, P&L, Profit and Loss, will be automatically calculated. So, let's say, I want to trade in equity. Logic, resistance breaks.
[09:50] Am I following the rules or not? I am exactly resistance break out. If it is in the theme, if it is my rules,
[10:03] I followed the rules. Stop loss, 340. And, if my target hits, I will enter 370.
[10:17] profitability is also calculated. No, if my stop loss hits at 340, means if I exit at my stop loss,
[10:31] So, 10 points multiplied by number of quantities, 10 multiplied by 10, 100 is loss. I will enter the complete trade review here.
[10:45] I entered November, December, January, February and March. like 2023, April 1st, 2024, March 31st,
[10:59] If you are watching this video at that point, I will also put the link of the new Excel sheet in the comment section. I will update it in our group too.
[11:12] the last holiday of the year is over for the market. mostly all are working days. And we are adding another important book in the market.
[11:29] Basics, The important data points and links in Telegram that I shared, PDF links, I will add them in the important segments.
[11:43] So that, this Excel sheet will be the trading journal for traders. I will also keep the important links related to learning in the Excel sheet. And another thing, when to do this?
[11:56] When you are taking the trade, focus on the trade. There will be a gap after taking the trade. Because, if you take the entry price of the trade,
[12:11] No need. fill it in. You will understand a lot of things.
[12:23] or a strategy, whether they are correct or not, you will understand whether you are profitable or not.
[12:35] You will understand that you are over trading. Because, after taking a trade and writing that you took the trade, you will not agree to trade again.
[12:49] if you directly sit in the market, and if you take a trade after taking a stop loss, And here, you will see the return on the capital.
[13:01] You will see the loss on the capital. If you go out of the box and hurt yourself financially, this journal will warn you that you are making a mistake.
[13:15] no stop loss, the strategy we are following, we can understand all this through this.
[13:27] You will understand the paper trade, As I told you earlier, And at the end of the point,
[13:39] If it is not, the profit in 1 or 2 months will go in 1 day. Review your trades once a week, once a month.
[13:51] note down below that this did not work for you, And if you see any new people, This is an element that brought me personal change.
[14:04] after maintaining the trading journal, When I am telling this in a course related manner, whoever is trading unnecessarily in the market,
[14:19] trading unnecessarily, they will understand. They will find out that this is a mistake.
[14:31] and what I wanted to do. You can download this completely, tell me that you have put the formula wrong,
[14:45] Or if you are following any trading journal, The element that is extraordinary in what you are telling, and try to update that as well.
