AI Summary

In this video, trader Brett Gold shares seven Bible verses that he credits with transforming his trading career. He emphasizes that the Bible serves as an operating manual for life, teaching principles like discipline, patience, and self-control that are essential for trading success. The video is aimed at traders of all backgrounds, religious or not, who want to improve their trading psychology and profitability.

[00:01]
Introduction: Bible as an Operating Manual

Brett Gold introduces the video by stating that his best trading lessons came from the Bible, not charts. He positions the Bible as an operating manual for life, emphasizing that applying its principles improved his discipline, patience, and emotional control, which in turn improved his trading.

[02:34]
Joshua 1:8 - Obedience Over Knowledge

The first verse, Joshua 1:8, teaches that success comes from meditating on and obeying truth, not just knowing it. Brett explains that most traders know what to do (e.g., not overtrade, follow a plan) but fail to obey. He emphasizes that obedience to a trading plan, risk management, and process is what leads to prosperity.

[06:34]
Matthew 6:24 - Money as a Servant, Not a Master

This verse, 'No one can serve two masters,' changed Brett's relationship with money. He clarifies that the Bible doesn't condemn money but warns against the love of money. He shares how detaching his self-worth from his net worth allowed him to trade from discipline rather than desperation, leading to better results.

[11:08]
Proverbs 13:11 - Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Proverbs 13:11 warns that wealth gained hastily will dwindle. Brett applies this to trading, advising beginners to focus on consistent, small gains rather than trying to get rich quick. He shares his personal story of blowing seven accounts and losing $10,000 by rushing the process, and emphasizes that slow growth transforms a trader.

[14:17]
Luke 14:28 - Count the Cost (Risk Management)

This verse, about counting the cost before building a tower, is applied to risk management. Brett contrasts amateurs who think about potential gains with professionals who think about potential losses. He stresses the importance of knowing your stop loss, risk per trade, and being able to emotionally accept a loss before entering a trade.

[17:22]
Proverbs 16:32 - Self-Control Over Market Control

Proverbs 16:32 states that ruling one's spirit is better than taking a city. Brett explains that the biggest enemy in trading is yourself, not the market. He emphasizes that real strength is self-control, and that the market is a mirror reflecting your character. Confidence without self-control becomes arrogance, which the market punishes.

[19:43]
Galatians 6:7 - You Reap What You Sow

This verse teaches that you reap what you sow. Brett applies this to trading, stating that consistent actions lead to consistent results. He encourages traders to sow discipline, journaling, and backtesting, and to trust the process, as no trade is wasted and every action is a vote for the trader you want to become.

[22:04]
Proverbs 11:14 - The Value of Counsel and Mentorship

Proverbs 11:14 highlights the safety in a multitude of counselors. Brett shares his mistake of trying to figure everything out alone, leading to confusion and losses. He emphasizes the difference between information and wisdom, and promotes mentorship as a way to shorten the learning curve and avoid costly mistakes.

[25:39]
Conclusion: Faith and Divine Purpose

Brett concludes by discussing God's omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence, suggesting that every trial and loss happens by design, not chance. He encourages viewers to trust God's plan, view failures as corrections, and keep showing up and obeying principles, as this mindset makes it almost impossible to truly fail.

The video concludes that applying biblical principles of obedience, detachment from money, patience, risk management, self-control, consistency, and seeking counsel can transform a trader's mindset and lead to profitability. Brett encourages viewers to trust that every experience, win or loss, is part of a divine plan and to keep showing up and mastering themselves.

23:43

[00:01] ever had in trading didn't come from a chart. They came from the Bible. [music] And I know some people are going to hear that and immediately think that, "Oh, this is just some religious video." But the more I studied the Bible, the more I

[00:16] realized something. The Bible is not just a religious document. It's an just a religious document. It's an operating manual for life. Because every single time I applied a principle from the Bible, my life improved. My

[00:30] discipline improved. My patience improved. My emotional control improved. And as a result, my trading also got significantly better. And I started have to be a Christian to watch this video. You don't even have to be

[00:46] religious. Because what I'm sharing here today are principles. Principles to become a profitable trader, like discipline, patience, wisdom,

[00:58] self-control, emotional mastery. So, whether you believe in God or not, if you apply the right principles the right way, your life will change. Now, once again, the Bible didn't teach me about candlestick

[01:11] patterns. It didn't tell me where to buy or where to sell. But it taught me the character traits that most losing traders are missing. And once I started applying these principles, I stopped gambling. I stopped chasing trades. I

[01:25] stopped revenge trading. And I finally became consistently profitable. So, in this video, I'm going to break down the seven Bible verses that completely changed the way that I trade. And how they helped me become a profitable

[01:39] trader. Now, if you don't know who I am, my name is Brett Gold. I've been trading for 7 years, and I've made millions from the market itself. Every single trade documented live on my second channel, Brett Trades. I've also helped hundreds

[01:52] of students become six-figure funded traders through my mentorship program, 1% Club. And I'm also the founder of Edge Flow, a trading platform built to help traders stay disciplined, manage risk, journal their trades, and stop

[02:05] making emotional mistakes. But, before I'm a trader, before I'm a founder, before I'm a mentor, before I'm a YouTuber, I'm a child of God. And that is why this video means so much to me. So, quite

[02:20] simply put, I don't want your money. I want you to become a better trader. Okay, now that you know who I am, let's get right into the video. So, the first verse that completely changed the way that I trade was Joshua

[02:34] changed the way that I trade was Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. It says, "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in

[02:48] For then you will make your ways prosperous, and then you will have good Now, I know that's a lot to take in. Let's try to digest it a little bit. Let's Let's break that verse down, because it literally contains the

[03:02] formula for success. So, it basically says that you should not only speak the says that you should not only speak the truth, but meditate on the truth, and do what the truth says every single day. And only then you will become

[03:16] prosperous, you'll become rich, and you will have good success. And when I read this, it hit me, because I realized that that is exactly why most traders lose. Most traders don't lose because they don't know what to do,

[03:29] right? They already know they shouldn't overtrade, they shouldn't revenge trade, they shouldn't trade without a plan. They already know that they should be review their trades, and trade without emotion.

[03:43] But they still don't do it. That's the problem, because knowing the truth doesn't change your life. Obeying the truth change your life. Now, for years I kept thinking that I needed more knowledge, more information. I

[03:57] needed to find a holy grail trading strategy. I needed more causes. I needed to watch more YouTube videos. But the truth was I didn't need more information. I needed obedience.

[04:10] I needed to obey my trading plan. I needed to obey my risk management rules. I needed to obey my data. I needed to obey the process even when my emotions

[04:22] And that's when I realized that profitable trading is not just about analysis. It's about submitting to the rules, submitting to the process, submitting to the fact that the market doesn't care about how I feel. And

[04:37] that's why this verse changed me. Because it taught me that success is not random. Success comes when you take the right principles, meditate on them until they become part of you, and then actually live them out daily.

[04:51] That is why you should back test to find out whether a trading strategy works. That's why you should journal and review every trade so you can get a data to improve your trading strategy. That's why you should master your

[05:04] And once I started doing that, my trading changed. I stopped chasing trades. I stopped forcing trades. I stopped needing to win every single day. I stopped treating every loss like a personal attack.

[05:19] Because I finally understood something. Once again, I didn't say this, the Bible says this. The Bible says, you will make your way prosperous. Meaning God give to walk in them. You can pray for discipline, but you still have to close

[05:36] the laptop when you hit your loss limit. You can pray for wisdom, but you still have to stop entering stupid trades. You can pray for success, but you still have to become the kind of person who can handle success.

[05:51] And that's the first lesson. Success doesn't come from knowing the truth. Success comes from obeying the truth long enough for it to transform you. And pretty much a trading platform that is designed to help you stay disciplined,

[06:06] help you manage your risk, journal your trades, and stop making emotional mistakes. Because once again, most traders don't need another strategy. They need a system that helps them obey the rules that they already know. So, if

[06:19] superapp, I'll leave the link below. Now, before you move on to the next verse, make sure you go and grab a cup of tea or coffee, right? Because of tea or coffee, right? Because it helps you stay focused, right?

[06:34] that changed not just my trading, but the way I perceive money is Matthew chapter 6 verse 24. It says, "No one can serve two masters. It says, "No one can serve two masters. You cannot serve God and money."

[06:49] Now, this verse completely changed my relationship with money. And I think a lot of people misunderstand what the Bible actually says about money. Because the Bible never says that money is evil. That's a huge common misconception. What

[07:03] it does say is this, "For the love of money is the root of all evil." Not money, the love of money. That distinction changed everything for me. Because I realized that money wasn't the

[07:17] problem. My attachment to money was the problem. So, back when I was a losing problem. So, back when I was a losing trader, I wasn't just trading my system. I was trading my fear of being broke. I was trading my ego, my insecurity, my

[07:32] mental well-being, and my need to prove myself. And when you trade from that place, you can't think clearly. You can't see the market for what it is because you are blinded by your own emotions. That is

[07:46] feel like the market has given you feedback. It feels like a personal attack on your identity. And that's when trading becomes extremely dangerous because listen, the market is already hard enough. It's already so difficult

[08:01] to trade, but when you add desperation into the equation, you start making decisions you would never make if you were calm. You start chasing trades. You start forcing trades. You start sizing up. You start to try to make everything

[08:16] back and then you call it trading. But really, it's just emotional survival. It's just gambling. Now, this verse made me realize that money is a powerful me realize that money is a powerful servant but a terrible master.

[08:29] Money can do a lot of good. It can take care of a family. It can allow you to help the less fortunate. It can give you endless amount of freedom. It can help you build businesses to serve other people. So, the issue here is not

[08:43] wanting to make money. The issue here is when you let money owns your heart. When you let money owns your soul. And this is where I also think some people get it twisted. Because the Bible doesn't glorify laziness or poverty either. Like

[08:58] if you look at the Proverbs, it literally says, "Love not sleep, lest literally says, "Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty. Open thine eyes and thou shall be satisfied with bread." So, clearly, the Bible is not saying,

[09:12] "Hey, go and stay lazy, stay broke, and don't build anything, be selfish." No, it warned us against greed, but it also warned us against laziness. It teaches diligence, stewardship, wisdom, and self-control. So, for me, the lesson was

[09:28] very simple. I don't need to hate money. I just needed to stop worshipping money. I needed to detach my P&L from my identity. I need to detach my self-worth from my net worth.

[09:43] And once that shifted, my trading changed. I stopped needing the market to validate me. I stopped seeing every trade as a chance to prove my worth. I stopped treating every loss like it meant something about who I was.

[09:58] And that is when money became a result again. It became a byproduct of mastering the skill set of trading. Not my master, but my servant. And ironically, when I stopped needing money so badly, I made more of it. It's

[10:15] incredible how the universe works when you start to detach from the things that you really want. Because that is when I could finally trade from a place of discipline instead of desperation. So, that's the lesson from Matthew

[10:28] chapter 6 verse 24. If money controls you, the market controls you. But when money becomes a tool instead of your god, you become a much better trader, which automatically means you

[10:41] become a much more profitable trader. Now, if you guys are wondering why am I I'm preaching. I'm preaching, bro. That's why. It's usually if you watch my videos, I'm usually like sitting down in my office, but today I'm preaching. So,

[10:54] I decided to stand up for this entire video so that I can really project what I'm trying to convey here. Anyways, the third verse is Proverbs chapter 13 verse 11. It says, "Wealth gained hastily will

[11:08] dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it." This is the verse that I would give to every beginner trader out there. Because when you first start trading, the temptation is always speed. Oh my

[11:23] humanly possible. I want to become a millionaire trader in 6 months. You feel this strong desire to flip your small $100 account into tens of thousands of dollars. You want to pass a six-figure funding challenge fast. You want to make

[11:38] to change your life overnight fast, right? You want everything fast. Now, look, I get it because I was the same. When I first started trading, I didn't want slow progress. Hell, I created my

[11:52] first live account within the first 60 days. Imagine that. I was studying open a live account. I tried to rush the process. So, as a result, I over-leveraged, I forced trade even though there's no opportunities, and I

[12:07] treated every setup like it had to be the one that changed my life. And as you guys know my story, I end up blowing seven accounts, failing six funding challenges, and lost over $10,000 because I was trying to make money fast,

[12:21] because I was trying to skip the process. Now, once again, I had to learn have to learn that the hard way because the Bible says, "Wealth gained hastily will dwindle." And that is exactly what happens to most

[12:35] beginner traders. Even if they make money quickly, they usually lose it quickly because their skill, discipline, and character have not caught up with the money yet. It's like, yes, you can make money, but

[12:48] because you haven't become the person that is worthy of the money, you end up giving back the money back to the market. Maybe subconsciously, not good enough. You think that you are not worthy. Once again, you haven't

[13:01] become the person who is worthy of the money. So, you shouldn't be surprised you have made. Now, if you look at the second part of the verse, it says, "Whoever gathers little by little will increase it."

[13:15] That is professional trading. Risking a small amount of money, making small improvements to your trading strategies, learning small lessons from the market daily, building small habits, and having small profits compound over

[13:31] That's how you actually become consistently profitable. Not by trying to win everything today, but by becoming the type of trader who can survive long the type of trader who can survive long enough in this game to get good so that

[13:45] you can actually make consistent profits. So, the lesson from this verse is very simple. Beginner traders shouldn't be obsessed with making money fast. They should only be obsessed with becoming consistent

[13:59] slowly. Because fast money usually exposes you, but slow growth transforms you. Remember, slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. The next verse is Luke chapter 14 verse 28. It says, "For which of you,

[14:17] desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost?" well, we're not trying to build a tower here. We're trying to trade, right? So, what does it mean? Well, that verse literally means risk management.

[14:32] Because most amateur traders that enter into a trade thinking, "How much can I make?" But professional traders enter into a trade thinking, "How much money can I lose?"

[14:46] Because back when I was a beginner, I only cared about the upside. You know, I would see a setup, and then I would imagine how much money I could make, and then I could start to fantasize about the items, the possessions that I could

[14:59] make $100 on this trade, I can buy that new Nike shoes. If I just make $1,000, I could buy that new iPhone 17 Pro Max." And with that mindset, I keep on jumping into trades without properly thinking about the downside. Right? And as a

[15:12] result, I lose a lot of money because I was obsessed over the upside while neglecting the downside. But once again, the Bible says, "Before you build anything, you count the cost. Before you build a tower, you count the

[15:27] cost. Before you build a business, you count the cost. Before you build a count the cost. Before you build a trading career, count the cost. And before you enter a trade, count the cost. Think about how much money you

[15:41] could potentially lose if this trade does not go as planned. What is your stop loss? What is your risk per trade? What happens if you are wrong? Can you emotionally accept the loss before you even enter?

[15:54] Because if you cannot accept the loss before entering the trade, chances are you are probably risking too much money. And that is why I always say, "Risk future self." And you are the only one responsible for

[16:09] And you are the only one responsible for delivering it. So poetic. Such a lovely But it's really true, because every single time you respect your stop loss, you are protecting your future self. Every single time you control your lot

[16:23] size, you are protecting your future self. Every single time you walk away after hitting a loss limit, you are protecting your future self. Because surviving one trade. It's about

[16:36] surviving long enough in this game to actually become good at this game so And this verse taught me that wisdom starts before the action, not after. You don't count the cost after you enter the trade. You count the cost before you

[16:51] even press the buy and sell button. So, the lesson from Luke chapter 14 verse 28 is simple. Amateurs think about how much money they can make. Professionals think about how much money they can lose. And a trader who can protect his

[17:05] downside will always outlast the trader who is obsessed with the upside. And in the market, the trader who lasts the longest in the game wins. The next verse is Proverbs chapter 16 verse 32. It says, "Whoever is slow to

[17:22] anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city." This verse is pretty much talking about trading psychology in one sentence.

[17:35] is not smart money, it's not big banks, broker, it's not prop firms, it's not market manipulation, it's not spreads or the news or the commission cost. The biggest enemy in the market is you.

[17:50] And I know that's hard to admit, because when you are losing money, it's so easy to blame everything outside of yourself. But at the end of the day, you are the one clicking the buy and sell button. You are the one choosing the position

[18:04] size. You are the one breaking the trading plan. You are the one that is reacting emotionally when the trade doesn't go your way. That is why this verse hit me so hard. The Bible literally says, "The man who rules his

[18:17] spirit is better than the man who takes a city." In other words, real strength is self-control. Not aggression, not action, not forcing trades, not trying to dominate the market or impose your will onto the

[18:32] market, but because you cannot control the but because you cannot control the market. You can only control yourself. You cannot control your P&L, but you can control your actions. You must

[18:44] understand that the market is simply a mirror. It just reflects your character. Every trade showed me who I really was under pressure. under pressure. Was I patient? Was I disciplined? Was I

[18:57] humble enough to admit the fact that I was wrong? Or was I still controlled by fear, greed, and ego? That's why most traders don't need more confidence. They need more self-control. Because confidence without self-control

[19:13] becomes arrogance, and arrogance in the market gets punished very quickly. So, the lesson from Proverbs chapter 16 verse 32 is very simple. The trader who can rule himself is more powerful than the trader who thinks he can rule the

[19:28] market. Because once you master yourself, you stop fighting the market. You start trading with the market. You start following your process and your And when you do, good things tend to happen to you. So, the next verse is

[19:43] happen to you. So, the next verse is Galatians chapter 6 verse 7. It says, Galatians chapter 6 verse 7. It says, "Do not be deceived. God is not mocked. For whatever one sows, that he will also reap." Right? So, it's pretty much the

[19:55] you reap what you sow quote. This verse changed the way I look at results. Because I realized that in trading, nothing is random forever. You eventually reap what you repeatedly sow. If you keep sowing impatience,

[20:10] over-leveraging, emotional entries, and poor preparation, you shouldn't be surprised when you reap inconsistent results. Because inconsistent actions lead to inconsistent results. But if you keep

[20:23] sowing discipline, journaling, backtesting, patience, and risk management, eventually those seeds will compound. most traders they tend to quit way too early. You know, they follow their

[20:37] trading plan for 1 week, and then they wonder why they are not magically profitable yet. They journal five trades, and they wonder why they don't have clarity yet. They backtest for 2 days, and they wonder why they don't

[20:50] have a million dollars in their bank account yet. But that's not how sowing and reaping works. Let me give you like a quick example. doesn't plant seeds today and get angry when there is no harvest tomorrow. He

[21:04] keeps watering it. He keeps tending the soil. He keeps trusting the process. And trading works the exact same way. Because I fundamentally believe that no trade is ever wasted, even if you don't see immediate results.

[21:20] Because every buy or sell is a vote for the trader you want to become. trading plan, you are casting a vote for discipline. Every single time you respect your risk management, you are casting a vote for patience.

[21:34] you are casting a vote for self-awareness. And over time, those votes become your identity. So, the lesson from this verse is very simple. Your trading account is not just a

[21:48] reflection of your strategy. It's a receipt for the seeds you've been planting. So, the final verse is Proverbs chapter 11 verse 14. It says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall. But in the multitude of

[22:04] counselors, there is safety." Now, this verse hit hard because this was one of the biggest mistakes I made when I first started trading. When I first started trading 7 years ago, I was trying to figure everything out alone.

[22:17] I thought that if I just watch enough YouTube videos, if I join enough free trading strategy to another trading strategy, eventually I will figure it out. But what actually happened was that

[22:30] I became even more confused. One person was out here saying, "Trade supply and demand." Another person said, "Trade indicators." Another person said, "Trade ICT concepts." Another one said, "Trade smart money concepts." And because I had

[22:44] no real guidance, no real mentor, no real support, I had no feudal. I didn't know what was true, what was noise, what actually worked, and what was just someone trying to sound smart online. As a result, I had to really test

[22:59] everything out by by to see what actually works. And I think that is why the Bible says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall." Not because you're stupid, but because without guidance, you repeat mistakes

[23:12] someone ahead of you could have helped you avoid. And that's exactly what trying to figure everything out, I blew so many accounts, I lost so much money, all because I was trying to pay market tuition to understand what works and

[23:27] thinking that the problem was the market. But now looking back in retrospect, I realized that the real problem was that I had no structure. I had information, but I didn't have wisdom. And that's a big difference.

[23:43] Because information tells you what something is. Wisdom tells you how to difference can cost you years of your life and thousands of dollars. That is why I say that mentorship is essentially wisdom without the battle scars. Not

[23:58] because a mentor will magically make you profitable, but because the right mentor helps you see your blind spots, help you shorten your learning curve, and stop making the same mistakes over and over again. And honestly, this is one of the

[24:12] reasons I created my free 33-day Market Mechanics Mentorship Series. Because I know what it feels like to start trading and feel completely lost. I know what it feels like to watch 100 videos on YouTube and still not

[24:26] understand how price actually move. So, I put together everything I wish I had when I first started. So yeah, I just finished doing this series where over 33 days, I break down how to trade market structure, how to identify liquidity,

[24:41] trade supply and demand zones, fair value gaps, order blocks, how to manage your risk, how to manage your emotions, how to build the right foundation, how how to build our daily bias, everything that I wish I had when I first started

[24:55] trading. No upsell, no opt-in, no [snorts] just a full free mentorship series to help you understand how the market actually works. So, if you're just someone that have been trading for quite some time, but you

[25:10] still feel confused, go and watch that free mentorship series after this video. Right, there's 33 lessons in there. I'll leave the link below. So, yeah, this verse basically says that trying to figure everything out alone by yourself

[25:23] is incredibly expensive. But with the right guidance, it can save you years of pain. So, those are the Bible verses that completely changed the But before I end this video, I want to leave you with this. It could be like a

[25:39] like ponder on. Think about it. God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. That means he is all-powerful, all-knowing, and he is everywhere, always present.

[25:53] So, if God knows everything, sees everything, and has power over everything, why would he make mistakes? God doesn't make mistakes. And once you truly understand that, your

[26:06] whole perspective on life changes. Because it literally means that every Because it literally means that every trial and tribulation, every loss, every trial and tribulation, every loss, every setback, every failure, every season of

[26:19] confusion, every painful lesson that you have to go through, did not happen by chance. It happened by design. Life doesn't happen to you, it happens for you. Everything is divine. Every

[26:32] situation you have gotten into is divine. And I know that's so hard to accept, especially when you're in the middle of the storm. When you are losing trades, when you are blowing accounts, when you're failing funding challenge,

[26:46] when your account is down bad, when your business is struggling, when you feel like you're doing everything right, but nothing is working. Well, understand that sometimes God is not denying you. He is developing you.

[27:00] And sometimes he's not taking away something to punish you. He's removing it because he has something better planned. If it doesn't go in your way, it's because he has better plans for you. And that is why faith is so

[27:14] powerful. Because when you trust God, even failure doesn't feel final. If something doesn't go in your way, you don't have to spiral. You don't have to panic. You don't have to think that your life is over. You can just trust that if

[27:29] God allowed it, there is a reason for it. Because worry comes from trying to control what only God can control. Faith is knowing that even when things doesn't go according to your plan, they are still moving according to his plan.

[27:44] And that is why the Bible says, "Walk by faith, not by sight." Because sight only sees what is happening right now. Faith trusts what God is building behind the scenes. So, whether you are in a winning season or losing season, whether you're

[27:59] actually profitable right now or you're still struggling, remember this. Everything is happening in the exact order it's meant to happen. Your job is to keep showing up. Keep obeying the principles. Keep managing a

[28:14] risk. Keep doing the right things. Keep mastering yourself. Because God really does work in his own miraculous ways. And if you carry this mindset, it And if you carry this mindset, it becomes almost impossible to truly fail.

[28:26] Because every win becomes confirmation, and every loss becomes correction. Every setback becomes preparation, and every delay becomes part of the plan. So, if you guys want a part two to this video because there are still so many

[28:42] Bible verses that I wanted to cover, but there's just not enough time in this video. And if this video help you out, send it to someone who needs to hear it. wisdom. Let's spread God's words and expand his kingdom together as one. So,
