AI Summary

This video presents an 'iceberg' guide to power scaling, the hobby of comparing fictional characters to determine who would win in a fight. It starts with simple concepts like attack potency and durability, then progressively dives into more niche terminology, logical fallacies, and high-level cosmic scaling. The creator aims to share the thoughtful side of the community, countering stereotypes of toxic shouting matches.

[01:10]
Definition of Power Scaling

Power scaling is the comparison of different characters' powers to discern which is likely to win in a hypothetical battle, based on transitive relation.

[01:56]
Attack Potency

Attack potency measures how much damage a character can do, often quantified literally (e.g., Newtons) or via shorthand (e.g., car level, building level).

[02:48]
Durability

Durability is how much force a character can take before passing out or dying, ranging from average human (one bullet) to tanking massive attacks.

[03:06]
Feats and Anti-Feats

A feat is a citable example of a character's stat (e.g., a strength feat like creating a tornado). Anti-feats are instances of unusual weakness.

[03:38]
Speed: Complexities

Speed is calculated as distance over time, but it's complex due to differences in running, reaction, flying, and fighting speeds.

[04:06]
One Punch Man Misconception

Many erroneously believe Saitama can beat any character because of his gimmick, but this is later debunked by the No Limits Fallacy.

[07:01]
Tier 2 Concepts: BFR and Canon

BFD (Battlefield Removal) is a win condition by removing opponent from battlefield. Canon refers to specific versions of characters with unique histories and feats.

[09:09]
Goku vs Superman Debate

A decades-long internet debate fueled by Death Battle videos. The controversy illustrates how different canons and versions complicate versus discussions.

[10:19]
No-Selling and Speed Blitz

No-selling is absorbing an attack with zero damage. Speed blitz is using vastly superior speed to defeat an opponent before they react.

[10:56]
Hacks

Hacks are abilities that ignore conventional stats (strength, speed, durability), such as reality warping or dimensional manipulation.

[13:58]
Stomp and Death Battle

A 'stomp' is an extremely one-sided matchup. Death Battle is a popular web series but often contains errors, amalgamations, and biased outcomes.

[15:51]
Fallacies in Power Scaling

Common fallacies include ad hominem (attacking the debater), burden of proof fallacy, and appeal to motive fallacy, undermining rational debate.

[17:00]
Dimensional Scaling

Affecting higher dimensions implies infinitely greater power. But hacks can bypass dimensional limits without infinite stats.

[41:14]
Outliers and No Limits Fallacy

Outliers are feats or anti-feats contradicted by most other feats. The No Limits Fallacy assumes a character has no limit because one hasn't been shown (e.g., Saitama).

[65:58]
Reality-Fiction Transcendence

The ultimate tier: a fictional character affecting the real world (breaking the fifth wall). This remains unclaimed, as even fourth-wall breaks are still fictional.

Power scaling is a fun, harmless hobby for nerds who enjoy math and debate, as long as participants avoid toxicity and respect different interpretations. The iceberg format shows the depth of the community, from simple comparisons to mind-bending cosmic concepts.

Study Flashcards (10)

What is power scaling?

easy Click to reveal answer

The comparison of different characters' powers to discern which is likely to win in a hypothetical battle.

01:10

What does attack potency measure?

easy Click to reveal answer

How much damage a character can do, often quantified literally or via shorthand like 'building level'.

01:56

What is the No Limits Fallacy?

medium Click to reveal answer

Assuming a character has no limit because one hasn't been shown; often used to argue Saitama is unbeatable.

55:46

What does BFR stand for?

easy Click to reveal answer

Battlefield Removal – a win condition by removing the opponent from the battlefield (e.g., throwing Hulk into space).

07:09

What is an 'outlier' in power scaling?

medium Click to reveal answer

A feat or anti-feat that is regularly contradicted by most other feats, and thus ignored.

41:14

What is the difference between lifting strength and striking strength?

easy Click to reveal answer

Lifting strength is how much weight a character can lift; striking strength is how hard they can punch. They are related but not interchangeable.

25:17

What are 'hacks' in power scaling?

easy Click to reveal answer

Abilities that ignore conventional stats (strength, speed, durability), such as reality warping or dimensional manipulation.

10:56

What is the 'argument from narrative' fallacy?

hard Click to reveal answer

Arguing a character wins because of their role in the story (e.g., protagonists always win), rather than using feats or scaling.

89:01

What does 'omnipotence' mean in power scaling?

medium Click to reveal answer

Being all-powerful in the most literal sense – can do anything in any dimension. True omnipotence is rare, often a hyperbole.

40:23

What is the 'world of ants' argument?

medium Click to reveal answer

A variant of the No Limits Fallacy: a character who only fights weak opponents (ants) cannot be assumed to beat any stronger opponent.

[00:00] quick who would win Spider-Man or link

[00:03] how about Captain America versus Batman

[00:05] or Gojo versus journo Power scaling is a

[00:09] controversial and complex form of media

[00:11] analysis but it's also one of my

[00:13] favorites for some people the only

[00:15] exposure to the Hobby is dorks on

[00:18] Twitter commenting don't care Goku

[00:20] Stomps under any post about another

[00:22] character but there's actually multiple

[00:25] large communities full of fun and

[00:27] thought-provoking conversation and that

[00:29] is the side of it that I want to share

[00:31] with you today this Iceberg will cover

[00:33] everything you'll need to know about the

[00:35] mechanics and Concepts behind power

[00:37] scaling as well as some of the more

[00:39] common debates memes and even some

[00:42] controversies getting more and more

[00:44] Niche the deeper we descend this is the

[00:47] power scaling

[00:54] Iceberg tier

[00:57] one these are simple Concepts and ideas

[01:00] that are very easy to grasp if you've

[01:02] ever seen anyone discuss who would win

[01:04] in a fight you've probably seen these

[01:06] terms thrown around power scaling power

[01:10] scaling is the comparison of different

[01:11] characters powers to discern which is

[01:14] likely to win in a hypothetical battle

[01:17] the basis of all power scaling is

[01:19] transitive relation I know that sounds

[01:21] big it's not if a is bigger than B and B

[01:26] is bigger than C then a is most likely

[01:29] bigger bigger than C it's that simple as

[01:32] an example we've seen that Naruto beats

[01:35] pain in a fight and pain beat Kakashi so

[01:39] even though they never fight at this

[01:40] point in the series we can determine

[01:42] that Naruto is stronger than Kakashi

[01:45] this also works with characters across

[01:47] different franchises instead of

[01:49] comparing who they've beaten a fight we

[01:51] compare their stats and what they've

[01:53] accomplished attack

[01:56] potency one of the most important stats

[01:58] to consider when power killing a

[02:00] character attack potency is just how

[02:02] much damage a character can do this

[02:04] might be from how they Punch Kick shoot

[02:07] a laser cast a spell whatever the point

[02:10] is how much damage can they do a lot of

[02:13] the time this will be measured literally

[02:14] and scientifically we see the Hulk punch

[02:17] through this wall made of concrete and

[02:19] after we do some math we know this punch

[02:21] is at least 100 Newtons of force much of

[02:25] the time power scalers develop shorthand

[02:27] for when they don't want to or can't

[02:29] calculate specifically how much force a

[02:32] character exerts something like kid

[02:34] Goku's Kamehameha blew up a car so we

[02:37] know his attack potency is at least car

[02:40] level this is less than super boy whose

[02:43] heat vision destroyed a building so he's

[02:45] building

[02:46] level

[02:48] durability durability is simple how much

[02:51] force can a character take before they

[02:53] pass out or die some characters have

[02:56] average human durability a single bullet

[02:58] from a handgun could would end them but

[03:01] stronger characters often take much more

[03:03] powerful attacks and aren't hurt at all

[03:06] Feats a feat is a citable example of a

[03:09] character showing one of their stats if

[03:12] all might punched so hard he created a

[03:15] tornado that is a strength feat and can

[03:17] be referenced in discussions about him

[03:19] as proof that his punches are at least

[03:22] that strong now sometimes people will

[03:25] discuss anti Feats or instances where a

[03:28] character looks particularly weak or

[03:30] Showcases of vulnerability this isn't

[03:32] super common but it does

[03:34] happen speed this is one that seems

[03:38] simple but is actually pretty

[03:39] complicated in some matchups at its core

[03:42] speed is calculated as distance traveled

[03:45] over time 10 mph a meter per second Etc

[03:51] where this gets complex is when you

[03:52] compare how fast the character runs to

[03:55] how quickly they can react to an

[03:57] incoming punch for example or or if

[04:00] their flying speed is actually faster

[04:02] than their running speed

[04:04] Etc one punch man onep punch man is a

[04:08] web comic Manga and Anime originally

[04:11] created by one who also authored mob

[04:13] psycho 100 the main character is saitama

[04:16] a superhero who is comically far more

[04:19] powerful than every other hero and

[04:21] villain in his series saitama frequently

[04:24] appears in versus debates and most

[04:26] people erroneously assume that he can

[04:28] win a fight against any any character

[04:30] out of all of fiction because that's his

[04:33] gimmick we'll get into why that's wrong

[04:35] a little later but for now all you need

[04:37] to know is that there's a sizable group

[04:39] of people who believe the one punch man

[04:41] is the strongest character in all of

[04:44] fiction

[04:46] range range is how far away a Target can

[04:49] be and still feel the effect of an

[04:51] attack a good example is the Punisher

[04:54] who has a range feet of just over 2

[04:56] miles sniping someone with a very

[04:59] powerful gun but instead of projectile

[05:02] attacks range could also be about how

[05:04] wide a character could spread a force

[05:06] field how far away someone can be and

[05:08] still have a telepathic connection Etc

[05:11] range is all about distance and how

[05:14] effective an ability is based on that

[05:16] distance

[05:19] stamina this is how long a character can

[05:22] last before they become exhausted a

[05:24] great example of this most people

[05:26] understand that Goku is far stronger and

[05:29] faster than Naruto but Goku's greatest

[05:32] battles typically last an hour or less

[05:35] while Naruto has battled non-stop for

[05:38] over 24 hours and still he's tossing out

[05:41] high level attacks at the end Naruto has

[05:43] more

[05:44] stamina

[05:46] intelligence how smart a character is

[05:49] but this actually has some important

[05:51] variance most people assume intelligence

[05:53] is about how good you are at math but

[05:56] there are many forms of intelligence

[05:58] Ingenuity or the ability to to come up

[06:00] with new ideas quickly and effectively

[06:02] is a very valuable type of intelligence

[06:04] in battles someone like Spider-Man has

[06:06] this in Spades but this is entirely

[06:09] different from kinesthetic intelligence

[06:11] or Mastery of the body characters like

[06:14] Goku or Gojo can perform complex and

[06:17] difficult martial arts after just seeing

[06:19] them once this is a very powerful form

[06:22] of intelligence that is completely

[06:24] separate from mathematical or logical

[06:27] reasoning Goku wins

[06:30] this refers to how sort of like there

[06:32] are those who think saitama is the

[06:34] strongest character ever there are a lot

[06:36] of people who think Goku is the

[06:38] strongest character ever and love to

[06:40] make sure everybody knows it they are

[06:43] wrong of course and usually they're just

[06:45] doing a little harmless trolling which

[06:46] is all in good fun but unfortunately

[06:49] these are the people who tend to make

[06:51] others disillusioned with power scaling

[06:53] and view the whole hobby as a brainless

[06:56] shouting match tier two

[07:01] this tier has some of the ideas and

[07:03] vernacular of those who have already

[07:05] engaged in a few debates

[07:09] bfr bfr or Battlefield removal is a

[07:13] potential win condition in some debates

[07:16] consider Superman is fighting The Hulk

[07:18] and instead of punching him really hard

[07:20] or using his heat vision Superman throws

[07:23] the Hulk into space now Hulk may be able

[07:26] to survive in space but he has no way of

[07:28] actually making it back to Earth to

[07:30] finish the fight even though he doesn't

[07:33] die Hulk still loses this fight because

[07:35] he was removed from the battlefield he

[07:38] was

[07:39] bfr environmental

[07:41] destruction this is a character's

[07:43] non-battle attack potency essentially

[07:46] when a character is so strong that they

[07:48] damage the world around them without

[07:50] intentionally attacking it maybe a

[07:53] character is constantly on fire like the

[07:55] Human Torch and just by standing still

[07:57] he burns the grass that he stands on how

[07:59] much damage he does passively to the

[08:01] environment can be used to add Credence

[08:04] to calculated attack potency or even

[08:07] describe why for instance Captain Cold's

[08:09] freeze gun wouldn't affect him

[08:13] Canon Canon is the concept of continuity

[08:16] or rather the idea that specific

[08:18] versions of characters exist with unique

[08:22] histories abilities and Feats once you

[08:25] understand the idea of Canon you can

[08:26] grasp that there are many different

[08:28] versions of a single character there's

[08:31] pre-crisis Superman post crisis Superman

[08:34] New 52 Superman rebirth Superman reev

[08:37] Superman caval Superman DC Au Superman

[08:41] and many others only then can you grasp

[08:45] how silly of a question Goku versus

[08:47] Superman really is well which versions

[08:50] are we talking about are we doing some

[08:52] sort of amalgamation how do you balance

[08:54] that sort of amalgamation and this is

[08:57] why people end up arguing in circles so

[09:00] many Debaters can't wrap their mind

[09:01] around the fact that there are different

[09:03] iterations of a single character which

[09:06] leads us to Goku versus

[09:09] Superman this is a debate that ravaged

[09:12] the internet for literal decades the

[09:14] Allure is obvious Superman is notorious

[09:17] for always being strong enough to defeat

[09:19] any villain he faces and Goku is the guy

[09:22] who always finds a way to get stronger

[09:24] and come out on top they're both aliens

[09:26] sent to Earth by their parents and end

[09:27] up becoming her greatest protector so of

[09:30] course people want to know which one can

[09:32] punch harder whole thing only got bigger

[09:34] when screw attack's death battle made

[09:36] two videos about the fight with Superman

[09:39] coming out on top both times this was

[09:41] highly controversial both times but

[09:44] we'll talk about death battle in a

[09:45] little bit blood lust this is a term

[09:48] used to describe a status that can be

[09:50] applied to characters in a matchup a

[09:53] bloodlusted character does not act how

[09:55] they normally would instead their

[09:58] personality is erased and they use their

[10:00] entire Arsenal immediately with the

[10:02] intent to kill their opponent this

[10:05] condition is usually used in battles

[10:07] with opponents who typically hold back

[10:09] considerably or those who are too

[10:12] good-natured to try to kill someone

[10:14] think Spider-Man Sonic the Hedgehog or

[10:17] deu

[10:19] noell to noell an attack it's sometimes

[10:22] called tanking is when a character's

[10:25] durability is high enough to take an

[10:27] attack directly and suffer AB absolutely

[10:29] no damage Batman's strongest punch would

[10:32] do nothing to Thor so Thor could noell

[10:36] Batman's punches speed Blitz this is

[10:40] when a character uses their

[10:41] significantly higher speed to take out

[10:44] an opponent before they even have a

[10:45] chance to react someone like the flash

[10:48] or Quicksilver could speed Blitz a

[10:50] character like Daredevil so arguing the

[10:52] fight any further would be

[10:54] redundant

[10:56] hacks hack is a term that comes from a h

[10:59] a cks hacks like you're playing an

[11:02] online game against someone and they're

[11:04] obviously hacking making the fight

[11:06] unfair hacks abilities are those that

[11:08] tend to ignore strength speed durability

[11:11] anything like that for example

[11:13] Spider-Man could obviously beat up

[11:15] Doctor Strange in a fist fight but not

[11:17] if Doctor Strange uses his magic hacks

[11:19] to send Spider-Man to a different

[11:21] dimension or turn him into Play-Doh or

[11:23] revert him back into a baby those are

[11:26] hacks abilities now some of these hacks

[11:28] have specific weaknesses although that

[11:30] tends to happen more often in anime and

[11:33] manga power levels power levels are a

[11:36] concept introduced in Dragon Ball Z it's

[11:39] over

[11:41] 9,000 where a character's strength speed

[11:44] and durability could all be neatly

[11:46] represented in a single number it's

[11:48] where the over 9,000 meme came from

[11:51] measuring a power level even though that

[11:53] was actually a translation error and it

[11:55] was 8,000 but whatever what most people

[11:57] don't get is that power level lels were

[11:59] deliberately introduced to show that

[12:01] with martial artists who wins in a fight

[12:04] comes down to more than just raw power

[12:07] and after the Frieza Saga these were

[12:09] phased out of the series but that didn't

[12:12] stop fans from speculation of what cells

[12:14] power level was or Super Saiyan 3 Goku

[12:18] and this rudimentary form of speculation

[12:20] gave way to what would become a lot of

[12:22] modernday power scaling Alien

[12:26] X Alien X is one of the many aliens that

[12:29] Ben Tennyson can transform into from the

[12:32] Ben 10 series the important thing to

[12:34] note is that he was popularized by Kuro

[12:37] the artist in a video called why Ben 10

[12:39] can beat Goku Superman and pretty much

[12:42] anyone in the video Alien X was gassed

[12:45] up to be completely undefeatable and I

[12:47] want to make note here that his powers

[12:49] are incredibly impressive he was even

[12:51] able to survive the destruction of the

[12:53] universe and then recreate and so most

[12:56] people considered him basically

[12:57] equivalent to God

[12:59] this isn't correct and some of the terms

[13:02] we'll get into later will explain why

[13:04] but the important thing here is that

[13:06] this cemented Alien X up there with Goku

[13:09] and saitama as a popular character for

[13:11] people to tout as the strongest in

[13:14] fiction

[13:16] multipliers a multiplier is a simple

[13:19] numerical value used to describe how

[13:22] much more powerful a character becomes

[13:24] whether it's after a Time skip or after

[13:26] a transformation the most well-known

[13:29] known multiplier is Super Saiyan which

[13:31] boosts the strength speed durability and

[13:34] attack potency of a character by 50

[13:37] times simple multipliers make

[13:39] extrapolating hypothetical Feats very

[13:42] easy if we know that Thor can lift 100

[13:46] tons and his belt of strength gives him

[13:48] a two times multiplier on his strength

[13:51] then we can calculate his max lift at

[13:53] 200 tons

[13:56] easy

[13:58] Stomp a stomp is when one character very

[14:01] very easily defeats their opponent

[14:04] because the matchup was unfair Rock Lee

[14:07] versus the Silver Surfer would be an

[14:10] obvious stomp as the Silver Surfer is so

[14:13] many magnitudes stronger faster and more

[14:16] versatile than Lee so he

[14:19] Stomps Death Battle Death Battle is a

[14:22] long running YouTube web series by screw

[14:25] attack and Rooster Teeth where The Two

[14:27] Hosts whiz and Bo stick power scale two

[14:30] characters and then watch them compete

[14:33] in a versus Battle ultimately declaring

[14:35] a Victor and explaining why they won

[14:38] death battle is a lot of fun to watch

[14:39] and has some really impressive

[14:41] animations sometimes but it's sort of

[14:43] notorious in more serious power scaling

[14:46] circles for how often they get things

[14:48] wrong they frequently use amalgamations

[14:51] of characters ignoring Cannon and

[14:54] confusing the parameters of the fight

[14:56] they also have a habit of rigging it so

[14:58] the less popular character wins even if

[15:01] they shouldn't all to stir up

[15:03] controversy and boost their views in the

[15:05] algorithm with all the angry comments

[15:07] they get and finally sometimes they just

[15:10] post easy Stomps that anyone with any

[15:13] knowledge of power scaling will know the

[15:15] outcome is going to be exactly what they

[15:17] think it is before the video even plays

[15:20] unfair matchups like The Flash versus

[15:22] Quicksilver ultimately death battle is

[15:25] fun but wrong very frequently even

[15:27] though some people treat it like gospel

[15:29] it's

[15:30] not tier

[15:34] three now we're getting to real

[15:36] Community Centric lingo if anyone throws

[15:39] around these terms they either consume

[15:41] power scaling content regularly or they

[15:43] do a little bit of it themselves this

[15:45] doesn't mean they know what they're

[15:46] talking about though so make sure to

[15:48] remember that

[15:51] fallacies a fallacy is a common belief

[15:54] or argument that is based in unsound or

[15:57] incorrect logic there are a lot of

[15:59] fallacies that are frequently used in

[16:01] power scaling debates but to give you an

[16:03] example one of the most common is ad

[16:06] hominin this is where you try to say

[16:08] someone is wrong and your evidence is an

[16:10] attack on the person not the actual

[16:13] character that they're debating about

[16:15] you could tell me that Batman could lift

[16:17] 10 tons and instead of disproving that I

[16:20] could just say that you're stupid and

[16:22] you don't shower enough you you stinky

[16:24] you smell these are insults not

[16:27] arguments and that makes them an ad

[16:30] homonym fallacy we'll get into plenty

[16:32] more fallacies further down the

[16:34] iceberg character induced

[16:37] stupidity this is when a character self-

[16:40] imposes restrictions or limitations on

[16:42] their abilities because they aren't

[16:44] smart enough to use them correctly a

[16:47] great example is denji from chainsaw man

[16:50] he can unlatch the chains on his saws

[16:52] and theoretically use them to swing

[16:54] around like Spider-Man but he never gets

[16:56] the idea so he doesn't do it

[17:00] Dimensions Dimensions or dimensional

[17:03] tearing is an important part of higher

[17:05] level power scaling debates first you

[17:08] need to know that there are three

[17:09] spatial Dimensions length width and

[17:12] height this is true in the real world in

[17:16] power scaling any character with an

[17:17] ability to affect two or more Dimensions

[17:20] is infinitely more powerful than a

[17:22] character that can only affect one

[17:24] dimension and so on so if a character

[17:27] could affect the fourth dimension with

[17:29] their raw strength or speed it can be

[17:31] inferred that they have more than

[17:34] infinite three-dimensional strength or

[17:37] speed it's important to note that this

[17:39] does not include hacks hacks are by

[17:42] Design special abilities that bypass

[17:44] typical physical limitations so

[17:46] affecting a higher dimension in that way

[17:48] does not mean you have an infinite stat

[17:51] in this

[17:52] Dimension Game

[17:54] mechanics a lot of times in video games

[17:56] the character will have wildly varying

[17:59] abilities depending on how the player

[18:01] chooses to play because I found a glitch

[18:04] that lets link travel across Hyrule in

[18:07] 1.6 seconds that doesn't mean Canon link

[18:10] can actually move at the speed of sound

[18:13] or however fast that would actually be

[18:15] in the same way sometimes video games

[18:17] have mechanics that let you do things

[18:20] that don't make sense in the world good

[18:22] example of this is inventory if I wanted

[18:25] to scale Minecraft Steve I probably

[18:28] wouldn't take into account the fact that

[18:29] you could completely fill up his

[18:31] inventory with gold ingots and he would

[18:33] technically be carrying an entire

[18:35] planet's weight in metal around with him

[18:38] these game mechanics are usually ignored

[18:40] when scaling

[18:42] characters this

[18:44] one uh this is a word that is British

[18:48] slang for a very specific form of self

[18:54] massage yeah that probably won't get age

[18:57] restricted if I phrase it that way

[18:58] basically in power scaling this means to

[19:01] overe exaggerate a character's abilities

[19:04] intentionally or not to make them seem

[19:06] stronger than they actually are

[19:08] sometimes people will do this by using

[19:10] fallacies and other times their math is

[19:12] just wrong if done unintentionally this

[19:15] can be really annoying but it can be a

[19:17] ton of fun if you're just goofing around

[19:19] and seeing how strong you can make a

[19:21] character while using a bunch of logical

[19:24] fallacies for a good example check out

[19:26] this episode of my podcast where we

[19:28] debated stiltman versus Big Wheel I

[19:31] promise it's pretty funny

[19:34] lowball so this is the opposite of the

[19:36] previous one to lowball a character or

[19:39] feat is to assume the weakest possible

[19:42] version let's say Superman punches a

[19:45] building apart a lowball estimate would

[19:48] assume the building was only as big as

[19:50] we saw and that it was made of weak

[19:53] materials but a high ball would assume

[19:56] the building is taller than we actually

[19:58] saw and was made a very durable metal or

[20:00] something the lowball is the safest and

[20:03] most reasonable argument when gauging

[20:06] something standard

[20:08] equipment do you know how Canon

[20:10] describes different versions of

[20:12] characters well individual versions of

[20:14] characters can also differ quite a bit

[20:17] depending on their equipment I could say

[20:20] MCU Tony Stark specifically in Iron Man

[20:23] 2 but in that movie he wears like three

[20:26] different armors standard equipment is a

[20:29] term that means the character only has

[20:31] at their disposal what they usually do

[20:34] in most stories standard equipment

[20:37] Batman will definitely have batarangs

[20:39] and a grapple gun but probably will not

[20:41] have the bat shark repellent he keeps

[20:44] around specifically in his

[20:47] watercraft

[20:49] jobbing when a character jobs they lose

[20:52] a fight they should normally win this

[20:55] tends to happen in order to make a new

[20:57] villain look stronger but sometimes it's

[21:00] due to a character induced stupidity uh

[21:03] maybe it's just bad writing that's also

[21:05] a possibility great example is Vegeta he

[21:08] jobs in basically every fight he gets

[21:11] into always finding some way to lose so

[21:14] Goku can show up and win in versus

[21:17] debates jobbing is taken into account to

[21:19] invalidate stupid anti Feats like that

[21:23] one time flash got knocked out by

[21:25] Catwoman that was the Flash jobbing and

[21:28] should be assumed he normally would not

[21:30] lose in a fight against

[21:32] Catwoman flying

[21:35] brick a flying brick is a term used to

[21:38] describe Superman type characters very

[21:41] strong very fast nearly indestructible

[21:44] and very strong notable flying bricks

[21:47] include Superman Thor Goku omn Man

[21:50] Captain Marvel the Sentry

[21:54] Etc

[21:56] scans a scan is an image of a comic or

[21:59] Manga page usually a specific panel used

[22:02] to demonstrate a point often someone

[22:05] will ask for a scan of something that

[22:07] seems unreasonable if you told me

[22:09] Spider-Man has said he could beat The

[22:11] Hulk in a fight I would ask for a scan

[22:13] of that conversation for you to prove it

[22:17] Buster so this one has two meanings but

[22:20] they're towards the same point Iron Man

[22:23] is known for crafting countless

[22:24] different armors some of which are

[22:26] specifically designed to de beat a

[22:28] single opponent the Hulk Buster is the

[22:31] most obvious example but he has built a

[22:33] Thor Buster as well more generally the

[22:36] term Buster means the ability to defeat

[22:39] or destroy characters will often be

[22:41] called City Busters or Planet Busters

[22:45] this is shorthand this means that they

[22:46] have the attack potency to destroy a

[22:49] city or a planet I don't need to debate

[22:51] if freza could beat might guy Frieza is

[22:55] a known planet Buster and guy isn't you

[22:58] can get into all the details but that

[22:59] shorthand makes it really

[23:02] simple

[23:04] suppression a character will supress

[23:07] their full potential and fight in a

[23:09] weaker State most of the time and this

[23:11] is known as suppression there are a lot

[23:14] of reasons for this in Dragon Ball the

[23:16] saans enjoy battle and they purposely

[23:19] start off fully suppressed and work

[23:21] their way up to max power sometimes

[23:23] suppression is character induced

[23:25] stupidity but other times it makes sense

[23:28] maybe going all out drains the

[23:30] character's life away or makes them

[23:31] weaker over

[23:33] time Batman with prep this one is a meme

[23:37] essentially because Batman has so many

[23:40] contingency plans for all these

[23:42] different scenarios there are a lot of

[23:44] people that think with enough prep time

[23:45] he could defeat literally anyone a lot

[23:48] of this stems from the fact that he did

[23:50] manage to craft a bullet capable of

[23:52] killing dark side which is a crazy feat

[23:55] but that doesn't make him Unstoppable

[23:57] also this one is kind of silly because

[23:59] there's no way to calculate the

[24:01] effectiveness of prep time like I don't

[24:04] know would he lose to Thor with a minute

[24:06] of prep time but two minutes oh he would

[24:08] win he's going to beat the God of

[24:10] Thunder

[24:11] easy

[24:13] solos okay this one is my biggest pet

[24:17] peeve to Solo in a fight Means A Single

[24:21] Character defeats many opponents by

[24:24] himself that is what solo means one

[24:27] alone so if I put up a picture of 10

[24:30] Shonen characters and ask who wins and

[24:33] you said Goku solos that means Goku

[24:36] could beat everyone there all at once by

[24:40] himself that is the right way to use the

[24:42] word the wrong way is just

[24:45] interchangeable with winning like omn

[24:48] man versus homelander oh omn man solos

[24:52] no no no no he doesn't solo it's a

[24:55] one-on-one fight what would soloing a

[24:57] one-on one fight even mean it's

[25:00] ridiculous people just use words without

[25:02] any clue what they mean please if you

[25:05] take anything from this video just know

[25:07] that soloing is when one character beats

[25:10] many characters it's not just synonymous

[25:12] with

[25:13] winning lifting strength versus striking

[25:17] strength this one is simple but a lot of

[25:19] people get it mixed up tell me who's

[25:21] stronger Mike Tyson or Arnold

[25:24] Schwarzenegger the correct answer is

[25:27] both Arnold could lift more weight but

[25:30] Tyson can punch a lot harder the two are

[25:33] not mutually exclusive so when people

[25:36] discuss strength it's important to know

[25:38] that lifting strength and striking

[25:40] strength are related but they're not

[25:42] interchangeable in the same way who's

[25:45] faster Bruce Lee or Usain Bolt obviously

[25:49] Lee can fight faster but bolt can run

[25:52] faster fighting speed and travel speed

[25:55] are different stats too and should be

[25:57] measured separately if you want to

[25:59] measure fighting speed well that leads

[26:01] us into our next one reactions and

[26:04] perceptions essentially this is how

[26:06] quickly a character can see something

[26:08] coming and react to it either by

[26:10] blocking it dodging countering whatever

[26:14] in the real world reaction speeds are

[26:16] limited to three things number one the

[26:19] speed of light we cannot react to

[26:21] something before we see it number two

[26:23] are neurons it takes time for our eyes

[26:26] to Signal our brain that something is

[26:27] coming and number three actual reaction

[26:31] time this is based on training and you

[26:33] can get better at it a lot of boxers

[26:35] instinctually Dodge punches but most

[26:37] people would just get smacked in the

[26:39] face by a similar attack in fictional

[26:41] worlds all three of these limitations

[26:44] are malleable characters can often see

[26:47] things that move faster than light even

[26:49] though they shouldn't be able to see

[26:50] anything at all this is all part of the

[26:53] suspension of disbelief but it's

[26:55] important to know when gauging reaction

[26:57] times

[26:59] Goku's Universal

[27:01] punch this refers to a clash between

[27:04] Goku and beerus at the start of Dragon

[27:06] Ball super it's sort of Infamous because

[27:09] before Super Dragon Ball characters were

[27:11] usually scaled to solar system or Galaxy

[27:14] level at the very high end but after

[27:17] sharing a strike that threatened to

[27:18] destroy the entire universe including

[27:21] the entire universe sized Realm Of

[27:24] Heaven as well Dragon Ball scaling was

[27:27] thrown into an entirely different realm

[27:29] of power a lot of people like to

[27:31] downplay it because they find the scale

[27:33] so impossibly large and of course there

[27:36] are others that assume this meant Goku

[27:38] was all powerful they were all wrong and

[27:41] it led to a lot of discussion respect

[27:44] thread this is a collection of a

[27:46] character's Feats neatly compiled for

[27:49] easy reference usually with links to a

[27:51] scan of each feet the point of a respect

[27:54] thread is to make future debates easier

[27:57] with a quick place to look for

[27:59] everything you might need to know about

[28:00] a character for example a thread titled

[28:03] respect Hokage Naruto would outline all

[28:07] of Naruto's abilities as an adult with

[28:09] scans for his strength speed attack

[28:12] potency hacks

[28:14] Etc tier

[28:17] four slightly more Niche and slightly

[28:20] more complex this is where Petty

[28:22] arguments begin to turn into long essays

[28:25] in the YouTube and Reddit comments but

[28:27] if you like like that sort of thing

[28:29] let's

[28:30] go

[28:32] hyperbole hyperbole is essentially

[28:35] outrageous exaggeration in the context

[28:38] of power scaling this refers to

[28:40] character statements and guide book

[28:42] descriptions that tend to really

[28:44] exaggerate things in order to get the

[28:46] viewer all hyped up notable examples

[28:49] include Shonen Jump ads describing every

[28:52] single new Dragon Ball movie or game as

[28:55] the most powerful battle in history or a

[28:58] certain Naruto guide book that said part

[29:01] one Kakashi was omnipotent with his

[29:04] shingon which is clearly not true and if

[29:06] you don't really know what omnipotent

[29:08] means don't worry that's in the next

[29:10] tier

[29:12] inconsistencies this refers to a

[29:14] character or ability behaving

[29:17] differently at points in the story even

[29:19] though it shouldn't maybe Daredevil is

[29:21] normally fast enough to dodge gunfire

[29:24] but someone smacks him with a baseball

[29:25] bat and it's never explained why these

[29:28] sorts of things are common in Long

[29:30] running comics and shows and need to be

[29:32] considered when discussing versus

[29:34] battles plot induced stupidity so you

[29:38] know that character induced stupidity is

[29:40] when a character doesn't act in the

[29:42] optimal way because they're kind of dumb

[29:44] well plot induced stupidity is when a

[29:46] character doesn't act in the optimal way

[29:49] even though they should be smart enough

[29:51] to know better this is basically just

[29:53] bad writing plot and do stupidity or p

[29:58] is important to point out when

[30:00] discussing a character's intelligence

[30:01] because maybe they're usually smarter

[30:04] than how they act in these weird one-off

[30:07] instances

[30:09] FTL FTL stands for faster than light and

[30:14] a shorthand for describing how fast a

[30:16] character can go I'll briefly go over

[30:18] the other categories subsonic means

[30:22] slower than the speed of sound or about

[30:24] 760 mph Sonic is the speed of sound

[30:29] Hypersonic is five times the speed of

[30:31] sound from there we have a really really

[30:34] big gap then we get to relativistic

[30:38] which means approaching the speed of

[30:39] light basically anything a tenth the

[30:42] speed of light or more is considered

[30:45] relativistic then we have FTL and

[30:49] finally mftl or much faster than the

[30:52] speed of light they're actually even

[30:54] faster tiers we'll talk about later but

[30:57] these cover 9 9% of characters that

[30:59] you'll see talked about area of

[31:03] effect so you understand attack potency

[31:06] right how strong your attack is how much

[31:08] it can destroy area of effect is a term

[31:11] that relates to potency Superman might

[31:14] punch doomsday with enough Force to

[31:17] shatter the Earth but then why doesn't

[31:19] the Earth actually shatter it's because

[31:22] the area of effect is limited to

[31:24] Doomsday's face all that Force isn't

[31:27] being spread to the planet this is why

[31:30] characters in a lot of anime like Dragon

[31:33] Ball for example don't shatter the

[31:35] Galaxy every time they

[31:37] Spar

[31:39] Universe a universe is an infinite 3D

[31:43] Space Bound by a single dimension of

[31:45] time when characters are described as

[31:48] crossing a universe instantly or

[31:50] destroying a universe remember from our

[31:52] section on Dimensions that this means

[31:55] they have an infinite 3D stat

[31:58] although they might just barely be

[32:00] brushing into 4D because there are so

[32:03] many different ideas floating around in

[32:05] fiction some universes are distinctly

[32:08] finite not infinite or maybe they're

[32:11] bound to different Realms like Heavens

[32:14] Hells different planes magical Pockets

[32:17] the thing that binds all these places

[32:19] together is that they exist on the same

[32:22] timeline they make up one Universe

[32:25] stepping outside of that and we get into

[32:27] a Multiverse which I will discuss later

[32:30] no

[32:32] powers this one is a meme it's a common

[32:35] occurrence for someone on Twitter to pit

[32:37] two characters against each other but

[32:40] with the caveat that they don't have the

[32:42] powers they normally have usually though

[32:45] we have no way of actually determining

[32:47] what this means would no powers Goku

[32:50] simply have no key control would he

[32:53] still be bulletproof and super strong

[32:55] because that comes from Saiyan

[32:57] physiology or what about Daredevil would

[32:59] he fight like he could see but he didn't

[33:02] have his radar sense we have no earthly

[33:05] idea which is why these fights are

[33:07] usually pretty silly and there isn't any

[33:09] sort of distinct

[33:11] answer magic system a magic system is

[33:15] the specific functions and rules of a

[33:17] particular franchise for example Naruto

[33:20] has chakra and the characters in the

[33:23] universe use chakra in all sorts of

[33:25] different ways chakra is distinctly

[33:27] different from bending which is the

[33:29] magic system from Avatar the Last air

[33:31] bender and then some universes have

[33:34] multiple different Power Systems one

[33:36] piece has devil fruits but they also

[33:39] have hockey JoJo has hamon and it also

[33:42] has

[33:43] stands burden of proof

[33:46] fallacy this is a fallacy where someone

[33:49] makes a claim let's say gone freaks is

[33:52] faster than lightning and when asked to

[33:55] prove it they turn around and say no no

[33:57] no no no you prove he's not faster than

[34:00] lightning this is wrong the person who

[34:03] makes a claim must be able to prove it

[34:06] either with a scan a statement or a

[34:08] scale that shows G really is faster than

[34:12] lightning every Pokemon versus one

[34:15] trillion

[34:16] Lions this is the closest most people

[34:19] get to doing any power scaling as it's a

[34:21] popular question on Twitter and for

[34:23] streamers to debate about usually they

[34:26] end up using a bunch of f IES and just

[34:29] horrible math but it's all for jokes and

[34:31] shouldn't be taken too seriously uh for

[34:33] anyone wondering the Pokémon win and it

[34:35] isn't even a little

[34:37] close word of

[34:39] God word of God is a term used to

[34:42] describe an author's statement about a

[34:44] story that wasn't actually shown inside

[34:46] the story if hirohiko arachi said that

[34:50] joro's star plattinum could punch with

[34:53] the force of the Big Bang but it's

[34:55] clearly never shown him doing that any

[34:57] in JoJo that would be considered word of

[35:00] God on the flip side death of the author

[35:04] is a common literary criticism that

[35:06] basically says the author's comments

[35:09] outside the work itself shouldn't be

[35:11] considered and you should judge the

[35:13] story on its own merits at the end of

[35:16] the day it doesn't matter which Camp you

[35:18] fall into as long as you agree on one

[35:21] before you engage in any

[35:23] debates reality

[35:25] warping this is a subset of hacks

[35:28] abilities that specifically involves

[35:30] altering the nature of reality to your

[35:32] will you might have a weak reality

[35:35] warping ability like you can change the

[35:37] color of something or maybe you have a

[35:39] very strong reality warping ability like

[35:42] you can turn people into candy whatever

[35:45] it may be these are basically considered

[35:47] magic hacks and tend to bypass

[35:49] durability unless otherwise proven not

[35:52] to Sailor

[35:55] Moon Sailor Moon popular magical girl

[35:58] anime icon from the 9s is on this list

[36:01] because most people have no idea exactly

[36:04] how powerful she is to put it briefly

[36:06] she is much faster than the speed of

[36:08] light capable of destroying Dimensions

[36:10] has hacks that can let her time travel

[36:13] survive the destruction of a universe

[36:15] and exist outside a fourth-dimensional

[36:17] time space and actually recreate the

[36:20] entire universe not long after she's

[36:22] insanely

[36:24] powerful

[36:26] Kirby much like Moon Kirby is a cute and

[36:29] innocent character that's secretly

[36:31] extremely powerful for anyone willing to

[36:33] do a little scaling Kirby has punched

[36:36] enemies across planets cracked worlds

[36:38] with his 200 million Megaton punches

[36:41] escaped black holes and survive small

[36:45] supernovas and all of this is with the

[36:47] big asterisk Kirby is a baby star child

[36:50] meaning that his powers are roughly

[36:52] equivalent to how much weaker a baby

[36:54] human is to an adult theoretically adult

[36:58] Kirby would likely be a multiversal

[37:00] reality warper with fourth-dimensional

[37:02] attack

[37:05] potency Seth the

[37:07] programmer this is going to be a long

[37:09] one uh Seth is a very notorious member

[37:12] of the power scaling Community

[37:14] especially recently he was well known

[37:17] across the internet for his toxic and

[37:19] edgy interactions with people always

[37:21] trying to go others into debates and

[37:23] just steamroll them he would debate

[37:26] Dragon Ball Naruto com iics he'd also

[37:28] talk about politics philosophy the age

[37:31] of consent anything as long as he felt

[37:34] he could win the argument and he was

[37:36] just about as sore a winner as you could

[37:38] get the thing is when he wasn't debating

[37:41] in Discord he would actually make some

[37:43] pretty informative YouTube videos and

[37:45] had a lot of great collaborations with

[37:47] other power scalers Chuck swag KAG six

[37:51] noodles uh king of lightning there's a

[37:54] ton of them he was super entertaining

[37:57] but he love to play up this villain

[37:59] Persona where he would mock his fans

[38:01] call them losers virgins Flex how much

[38:04] money he makes and just generally act

[38:06] like a huge jerk he really only stopped

[38:09] getting away with it when Clyde his

[38:11] former friend and collaborator dropped a

[38:14] big video explaining why he stopped

[38:16] working with Seth it detailed a lot of

[38:20] horrible things Seth had done

[38:22] manipulating people lying trash talking

[38:25] backstabbing defrauding his patreon

[38:26] supporters basically anything he could

[38:29] do to Lord his power over others and

[38:32] this included some very sketchy

[38:34] interactions with miners Seth since

[38:37] dropped a big explainer about how that

[38:39] was misconstrued and how he never did

[38:42] anything explicit and though most of the

[38:44] internet abandoned him a chunk of his

[38:46] followers are still around here's the

[38:48] thing Seth really did his best to focus

[38:52] the entirety of this controversy on this

[38:55] brush with the minor which he could you

[38:58] know mostly disprove rather easily but

[39:00] in doing so he shoved a lot of the other

[39:02] stuff under the rug where he wouldn't

[39:04] need to address it but I will spell it

[39:07] all out here for you very simply Seth

[39:09] the programmer is extremely insecure he

[39:12] craves the validation of his fans and

[39:14] the people who think they're his friends

[39:16] and when he's feeling bad he dumps on

[39:18] them to lift himself up he didn't write

[39:21] or edit the vast majority of his best

[39:23] videos and many of the really good

[39:25] scales he used were divised by other

[39:27] people and he took all the credit he's

[39:30] an egotist but he's also a huge fraud a

[39:33] liar and a massive hypocrite and if this

[39:35] seems like I'm being super harsh and

[39:37] mean it's because I actually really used

[39:39] to like Seth a lot back when I was an

[39:42] edgy teenager um he's actually pretty

[39:44] sharp and really good at debate um but

[39:47] everything about him is toxic and after

[39:49] getting a peak behind the curtain and

[39:51] learning how he begs his friends for

[39:53] validation while acting to the public

[39:56] like some match Mo Uber mench I really

[40:00] just kind of pity him now here's hoping

[40:02] he actually get some help instead of

[40:04] pretending like nothing

[40:07] happened tier

[40:11] five okay we're getting into bigger

[40:13] ideas now sci-fi jargon and theoretical

[40:17] physics are pretty much the norm from

[40:18] here on out so buckle

[40:21] up

[40:23] omnipotence omnipotence is someone who

[40:27] is is all powerful what's important to

[40:29] note is that this is in the most literal

[40:31] sense an omnipotent character can do

[40:34] literally anything in any dimension in

[40:37] any place in any way that they want

[40:40] there is no limit to how much they can

[40:42] lift how fast they can go how hard they

[40:44] can hit it is the maximum across the

[40:47] board can an omnipotent character create

[40:50] a stone so heavy that he couldn't lift

[40:53] it yes doesn't matter that that doesn't

[40:55] make sense it doesn't need to to he's

[40:58] omnipotent of course a lot of Time

[41:01] characters who are very powerful will be

[41:03] described as omnipotent but they

[41:05] actually are not um we'll get into a few

[41:07] of them later but for now just know that

[41:09] those are mostly

[41:12] hyperbole

[41:14] outliers an outlier is a feat or an anti

[41:17] feat for a character that doesn't make

[41:20] sense when their other Feats are taken

[41:22] into consideration for example if Batman

[41:25] can usually lift 500 lb but in one

[41:28] single issue from 1972 he can lift 2,000

[41:33] lb that is an outlier because there are

[41:36] so many more instances where he can lift

[41:38] 500 we consider the 2,000 lb feet to be

[41:42] an outlier and we ignore it now some

[41:44] people will consider rarely presented

[41:47] abilities to be outliers but that's

[41:49] different a feat is only an outlier if

[41:52] it is regularly contradicted not if it

[41:55] just doesn't get referenced all that

[41:56] often

[41:59] Association

[42:00] fallacy this is a fallacy where someone

[42:03] draws a false conclusion just because

[42:05] two characters are associated for

[42:08] example deu from my hero Academia was

[42:11] able to beat the villain muscular and

[42:13] because AA is in class 1a along with deu

[42:17] he could also beat muscular this is

[42:20] wrong gravitational binding energy this

[42:24] is the amount of energy it would take to

[42:26] completely disperse a Celestial body or

[42:29] effectively overcome the force of

[42:31] gravity keeping it together this means

[42:34] planets moons large asteroids and stars

[42:37] it's calculated with this equation where

[42:40] U is the force we're looking for in

[42:42] Jewels G is the gravitational constant m

[42:46] is the mass of the planet and R is its

[42:48] radius the calculation for stars is only

[42:51] slightly different as it also includes

[42:53] the value n which is the polytropic

[42:56] value basically it says what kind of

[42:59] star it is white dwarf red giant Etc uh

[43:02] these are equations that tell us exactly

[43:05] how strong a feet is in a measurable

[43:08] number

[43:10] Multiverse a Multiverse is a fifth

[43:13] dimensional time space that contains any

[43:16] multitude of four dimensional universes

[43:19] each individual Universe in a Multiverse

[43:22] has infinite time and space so a

[43:24] character who can affect more than an

[43:26] enti entire universe with their attack

[43:28] potency has edged into multiversal

[43:32] destructive

[43:33] capability Universal Energy System we

[43:37] talked about Power Systems earlier

[43:39] essentially the way magic Works inside a

[43:42] fictional Universe the universal Energy

[43:45] System is one of three ways to classify

[43:48] magic systems it basically means that if

[43:50] a character has a supernatural power

[43:53] like shooting a laser or firing a spell

[43:56] then there other stats would be roughly

[43:58] analogous the energy system is universal

[44:02] Goku's Kamehameha is in the same tier of

[44:05] power as one of his punches as well as

[44:08] his level of durability if a character

[44:10] blows up a star you can assume they'd

[44:12] probably survive a star exploding too

[44:15] the second type is a nonphysical Energy

[44:19] System this is basically the opposite so

[44:21] a character may have a fire spell or

[44:23] something that could blow up a building

[44:25] but that is in no way evidence that they

[44:28] could survive a building that blows up

[44:30] their magical Feats and their physical

[44:32] stats are not related but their magical

[44:35] Feats are assumed to be related so if

[44:38] your fire spell is building level your

[44:40] wind spell is probably also building

[44:43] level and finally we have a limited

[44:46] Energy System this is where you don't

[44:48] assume anything is related nothing is

[44:50] analogous so a character may use magic

[44:53] sometimes and Technology other times and

[44:56] their Feats with e either are not

[44:57] assumed to be proportional nor do they

[45:00] scale to physical stats every single

[45:02] thing is

[45:04] separate appeal to motive

[45:07] fallacy this is a fallacy where you

[45:09] attack the person arguing instead of the

[45:12] argument but instead of AD homonym this

[45:15] one isn't an insult instead you attack

[45:19] their motive you only think Sasuke beats

[45:22] Naruto because you're an ucha Fanboy

[45:26] that's an appeal ultimotive fallacy and

[45:28] it's not a legitimate

[45:30] argument weak

[45:32] homelander so this one was a meme on

[45:34] Twitter for a while and it's pretty

[45:36] funny in the Amazon series The Boys the

[45:39] most powerful soup is homelander a

[45:42] flying brick and dark parody of Superman

[45:45] the joke is that while he's the

[45:47] strongest inside the boys Universe he's

[45:49] actually quite weak when you scale him

[45:51] against other fictional verses it's

[45:53] funniest when you know how much of a

[45:56] vile monster he is and he loses handily

[45:59] to the most sweet and innocent

[46:01] characters like Kirby deu or

[46:04] tanero galatis

[46:07] hunger in Marvel Comics galatis is a

[46:10] living force of nature that consumes

[46:13] worlds eating planets to maintain the

[46:16] correct level of entropy Across the

[46:18] Universe because he absorbs the powers

[46:21] of these planets his power actually

[46:23] varies depending on how long it's been

[46:26] since he last at a planet and so in

[46:29] versus battles people will often specify

[46:32] full galatis or starving galatis or

[46:35] mildly hungry galatis it's kind of funny

[46:38] so there were some memes about okay

[46:41] could Thanos be galatis if he had like a

[46:43] late brunch but no dinner yet and it's

[46:45] already 700 p.m. funny stuff like that

[46:49] astral

[46:50] resistance this is the ability of a

[46:52] character to defend against attacks made

[46:55] not to the minder by body but the soul

[46:58] or Spirit a character with strong astral

[47:01] resistance could tank the forced

[47:03] projection attack Doctor Strange does uh

[47:06] where he knocks your soul out of your

[47:07] body they would get hit and nothing

[47:09] would happen or like in Dragon Ball

[47:12] where hakai attacks destroy the body and

[47:15] the Soul surviving one would prove you

[47:17] have a high level of Astral

[47:20] durability [ __ ] second an [ __ ] second is

[47:24] a very very very very very very short

[47:28] amount of time it's used to calculate

[47:30] speed Feats by characters like Sonic or

[47:33] the flash who are just ridiculously

[47:36] nonsensically fast in case you're

[47:38] wondering an addcond is equal to one

[47:42] quintillionth of a regular second put

[47:44] another way the number of addos seconds

[47:47] in a normal second is the same as the

[47:49] number of normal seconds in about 30

[47:52] billion years and the Flash has stated

[47:55] that he's able to proceive

[47:57] and understand events that happen in

[47:59] less than an add second yeah chew on

[48:02] that Squirrel

[48:05] Girl Squirrel Girl is a Marvel Superhero

[48:08] real named Doran green who has the

[48:11] ability to control an army of squirrels

[48:13] she's sort of Infamous in power scaling

[48:15] because she tends to only show up in

[48:17] stories and One-Shot the villain just

[48:20] overwhelming them with a mountain of

[48:22] squirrels they may not that may not seem

[48:24] like a big deal uh if she fought like

[48:26] King pin or modok or something but she's

[48:29] beat Thanos galatis Dr Doom just with

[48:35] squirrels the one above all and the

[48:39] presence the one above all is the god of

[48:42] the Marvel Universe and the presence is

[48:44] the god of the DC Universe now I don't

[48:47] mean a god like Thor or Zeus or dark

[48:50] side I mean capital G God omnipotent all

[48:54] powerful unmatched they exist above all

[48:58] other beings in every dimension in their

[49:00] respective cannons and are usually

[49:02] referenced whenever someone is talking

[49:04] about a truly omnipotent character if

[49:07] you're wondering what would happen if

[49:08] they fought each other it's the exact

[49:10] same thing that would happen if they

[49:11] fought any other true omnipotent

[49:14] instantaneous and eternal stalemate kind

[49:18] of anticlimactic

[49:20] huh Stan Lee

[49:22] argument this refers to a popular clip

[49:25] of Stan Lee discussing discing a

[49:27] question he frequently got from fans

[49:29] which character would win in a fight and

[49:31] his response is that the writer decides

[49:34] who wins and that's that arguing about

[49:37] it is completely pointless and so many

[49:39] people use this to describe power

[49:41] scaling as pointless or inherently

[49:44] stupid but here's the thing I don't

[49:46] think Stan Lee was right not exactly see

[49:50] he was a writer it was his job to tell

[49:53] stories and make them entertaining so if

[49:55] you asked him who win between Spider-Man

[49:58] and Iron Man his gut reaction isn't to

[50:01] start doing math but instead to concoct

[50:03] a story where the two of them would have

[50:05] a reason to fight and then figure out a

[50:07] way to make that fight fun to read maybe

[50:10] Spider-Man is tweaking the Shocker

[50:12] gauntlets after he got in the tough and

[50:14] then he ends up using them to take down

[50:16] Tony that's not cold calculated versus

[50:19] Battle it's an exciting story if you

[50:22] don't believe me take a look at this

[50:24] Stanley might not like ranking

[50:26] characters by power but there are a ton

[50:28] of official Marvel panels that power

[50:31] scale the characters for us like this

[50:33] one here which shows us seven popular

[50:35] Heroes and tells us exactly what their

[50:38] maximum lifting strength is enough

[50:42] said all right that's the end of tier

[50:44] five we're halfway through this Iceberg

[50:46] so I want to take a really quick

[50:47] interlude to ask you to consider give

[50:50] this video a like and maybe subscribe to

[50:52] my channel I'm going to keep it real

[50:53] with you I talk about nerd [ __ ] all the

[50:56] time

[50:57] whether it's power scaling making

[50:59] theories rewriting bad stories I've got

[51:01] content lined up through the end of the

[51:03] year for Marvel DC ton of anime and

[51:06] games all great stuff so maybe stick

[51:09] around if you're feeling generous give

[51:11] me some money on patreon please uh

[51:14] you'll get access to my Discord server

[51:17] and you can ping me to ask who wins

[51:18] between SpongeBob and Peacemaker all

[51:21] right back to the

[51:23] iceberg tier six

[51:28] in this tier we're talking about more

[51:30] than just two characters fighting but

[51:32] instead larger groups and more nuanced

[51:35] competitions things are getting kind of

[51:39] complicated attack name

[51:41] fallacy this is a fallacy that asserts

[51:44] an attack does exactly what it's named

[51:47] for example Vegeta has The Big Bang

[51:50] Attack it's pretty easy to tell that

[51:52] this actually doesn't have the force of

[51:54] the Big Bang behind it or de's 1 million

[51:58] per smash word of God later clarified

[52:01] that the 1 million per was simply

[52:03] hyperbole deu was using it to psych

[52:06] himself up it wasn't actually 10,000

[52:09] times stronger than his maximum so if

[52:11] anyone wants to tell you that cyborg is

[52:14] really firing a million DB from his

[52:17] million DCB sound Cannon you can tell

[52:19] them that's the attack name

[52:22] fallacy the kardashev scale this this is

[52:26] a scale used to calculate a

[52:28] civilization's technological development

[52:31] it's all centered around how efficiently

[52:33] they can capture and use energy at the

[52:36] bottom are subtype one these are

[52:39] civilizations unable to completely

[52:41] capture and store the energy of a planet

[52:43] that would be us humans in real life we

[52:46] may be able to harness some geothermal

[52:49] and wind power but not up to 100%

[52:52] efficiency then we have type one who as

[52:55] you might have guessed can 100%

[52:57] efficiently use a planet's energy their

[53:00] Mastery goes to the point where they can

[53:02] even control physical phenomenon like

[53:05] earthquakes and volcanoes type 2 cves

[53:09] can directly consume and efficiently

[53:11] utilize the energy of an entire star

[53:14] this makes them incredibly powerful as

[53:16] stars are gigantic Fusion engines

[53:19] finally type three civilizations are

[53:22] completely utilizing the power of an

[53:24] entire galaxy this is a crazy amount of

[53:28] energy and this is where cardash shev's

[53:30] types ended but with all the different

[53:32] stories in Fiction more types were

[53:34] eventually introduced type four can use

[53:37] all the energy in a galactic super

[53:39] cluster and type five can use an entire

[53:43] universe type six can generate more than

[53:46] entire universe of energy in a single

[53:49] second continuously forever and type

[53:52] 7even is so powerful that the amount of

[53:54] energy they manipulate is beyond Beyond

[53:57] calculation civilization tearing system

[54:01] this is a different way to scale a

[54:02] civilization as opposed to the kardashev

[54:05] scale while that measures how much

[54:07] energy a people can produce the

[54:09] civilization teering system instead

[54:11] keeps track of how advanced their

[54:13] government and technology is starting at

[54:16] the bottom we have pre-industrial they

[54:18] haven't yet discovered electricity

[54:20] they're relying on simple tools and

[54:22] animals for transport and battle after

[54:24] that there's post-industrial essentially

[54:26] what every nation on Earth is like today

[54:29] beyond that is planetary a single

[54:32] civilization that controls an entire

[54:34] planet all under one government a

[54:37] stellar civilization controls a whole

[54:39] solar system an Interstellar Civ

[54:41] controls multiple solar system from

[54:44] there it goes Galactic Intergalactic

[54:46] Universal multiversal higher dimensional

[54:50] and finally

[54:52] Transcendent

[54:54] omnipresence omnipotence is is to be all

[54:57] powerful and omnipresence is a single

[55:00] element of that to be all present

[55:03] essentially this is the peak of speed

[55:05] you exist everywhere in every single

[55:08] location simultaneously now it's

[55:11] important to note just because you're

[55:12] omnipresent doesn't mean you're

[55:14] omnipotent you may be everywhere at once

[55:17] but you might still have weaknesses you

[55:18] can't lose in a race though that's the

[55:21] one thing you have

[55:23] here

[55:24] omniscience omniscient I is to know

[55:27] everything all things that have happened

[55:30] are happening or will happen you have

[55:32] access and full view of all of it this

[55:35] includes what people are thinking after

[55:37] all thoughts are just electrons firing

[55:39] inside neurons and you can see that

[55:42] happening No Limits fallacy this is a

[55:46] fallacy that assumes because a limit has

[55:48] not been shown that no limit exists for

[55:52] example Superman Has Lifted 100 tons a

[55:55] million tons a billion tons and he's

[55:58] never struggled the No Limits fallacy

[56:02] would state that he can lift literally

[56:04] infinite weight since we've never known

[56:07] that he has a limit we've never seen a

[56:08] limit this is an assumption and it's

[56:11] wrong this is also sometimes called the

[56:14] world of ants essentially if there's a

[56:16] character who gets in hundreds of fights

[56:19] but only ever fights ants and they

[56:21] always win just by stepping on them the

[56:23] No Limits fallacy would say they could

[56:25] beat any character ever because they've

[56:27] never lost inside their world of ants

[56:30] this is also wrong and by the way this

[56:32] is why saitama doesn't beat everyone in

[56:35] fiction he may beat everyone in his own

[56:37] series but that doesn't mean there

[56:39] aren't characters outside the series who

[56:41] couldn't beat

[56:43] him Tune Force this is the ability of a

[56:46] character to use very powerful reality

[56:49] warping for comedic Effect characters

[56:52] like Bugs Bunny are a great example he

[56:55] can teleport shape shift lift infinite

[56:57] weight alter the malleability of objects

[57:00] transform his environment his abilities

[57:02] are seemingly Limitless but only if

[57:05] they're for comedic effect this is known

[57:07] as Tune Force short for cartoon

[57:10] sometimes characters will have a limited

[57:12] amount of Tune Force a rale from Dr

[57:15] slump has crossed over with Dragon Ball

[57:16] super and while she's strong enough to

[57:18] beat Godly Fighters that she has no

[57:21] business fighting her comedic Powers

[57:23] don't let her contend with beerus who is

[57:26] too serious and Powerful for toune Force

[57:28] to work on

[57:31] gerer gerer or gold experience requium

[57:36] is the standability of joro giovana from

[57:38] JoJo part five ger is sort of Infamous

[57:42] in power scaling or at least it was for

[57:44] a while for its wacky ability Return To

[57:47] Zero it can return anything to zero and

[57:51] if you're confused what that means it's

[57:53] intentionally vague that's what makes it

[57:55] powerful you run up to punch jno well he

[57:58] returns your position to zero so you

[58:00] never moved uh you manage to land a hit

[58:03] on him he returns the damage to zero he

[58:06] punches you to death guess what he can

[58:08] return your death zero so you live over

[58:11] and over again infinitely and get this

[58:14] jono doesn't even need to see the attack

[58:16] coming gerer can act without his

[58:18] knowledge he even did so against diblo

[58:21] during his time skip arguably scaling

[58:24] his awareness to high fourth or low

[58:27] fifth dimensional slap on a healthy

[58:29] layer of No Limits fallacy and for a

[58:31] while many posters thought Geer was

[58:34] completely

[58:36] unbeatable power levels current

[58:39] year this is a reference to a very low

[58:42] effort form of YouTube video that gets a

[58:44] ton of views despite how inaccurate they

[58:46] are basically the person making the

[58:49] video picks two characters let's say

[58:51] Naruto and Sasuke and then they assign

[58:54] them power levels based on on different

[58:56] points in the story culminating with

[58:59] their current strongest forms and some

[59:01] ridiculously huge number to go along

[59:04] with it these numbers are not based in

[59:07] anything substantial they're just

[59:08] guesses but they do sate the Curiosity

[59:11] of little kids who are just starting to

[59:13] get into versus debates that's why they

[59:14] get so many views as long as you don't

[59:17] actually take them seriously they're

[59:18] harmless

[59:19] fun grandmas Luke this refers to Luke

[59:24] Skywalker as he was depicted in the the

[59:26] Star Wars extended Universe the now

[59:28] non-cannon collection of books telling

[59:31] the story of the Star Wars characters

[59:33] after episode 6 Luke became

[59:36] substantially more powerful in these

[59:38] stories to the point where he could do

[59:39] with the force what was barely

[59:41] recognizable from the movies he could

[59:43] fold space to teleport himself and

[59:46] objects he has nanc reaction times can

[59:49] project his thoughts into thousands of

[59:52] Minds across the Galaxy simultaneously

[59:55] and he even uses the force to affect a

[59:57] black hole in that Cannon he's the most

[1:00:00] powerful force user who ever lived and

[1:00:02] is frequently used to scale other Jedi

[1:00:05] and Sith against speed force

[1:00:08] LOL this is another meme this time about

[1:00:11] the flash all versions of The Flash be

[1:00:14] they Jay Garrick Barry Allen Wally West

[1:00:17] all of them tap into a supernatural and

[1:00:19] extradimensional power known as the

[1:00:21] speed force this Force grants them their

[1:00:24] tremendous speed but also allows them a

[1:00:27] myriad of other powers some of which

[1:00:30] make no sense for example the speed

[1:00:33] force will surround and protect anything

[1:00:35] The Flash is holding so when he picks up

[1:00:37] a person and runs them across the

[1:00:39] country at 1,000 miles an hour they

[1:00:41] don't splatter apart from the g-forces

[1:00:43] or sometimes when he needs a costume he

[1:00:46] can just summon one out of speed force

[1:00:49] energy whatever the hell that means it's

[1:00:52] the speed force I ain't got to explain

[1:00:54] [ __ ]

[1:00:56] varying fourth

[1:00:58] Dimensions this is an important one to

[1:01:00] understand when discussing characters

[1:01:02] who affect or control time see we are

[1:01:05] aware of three spatial dimensions and

[1:01:08] one temporal Dimension the fourth

[1:01:10] dimension is time this is generally the

[1:01:13] case in most fictional universes but in

[1:01:16] some this is not the case and the fourth

[1:01:18] dimension is separate from time meaning

[1:01:21] there are four spatial dimensions and

[1:01:24] then time is the fifth Dimension make

[1:01:27] sense so a character in that Universe

[1:01:29] could transcend three-dimensional speed

[1:01:33] but instead of time being affected they

[1:01:35] would simply begin moving fourth

[1:01:37] dimensionally it's a bit difficult to

[1:01:38] wrap your head around I know but just

[1:01:40] remember the fourth dimension isn't

[1:01:42] always

[1:01:43] time slow

[1:01:46] Thor Thor Marvel's God of Thunder is

[1:01:49] very powerful and Incredibly fast as

[1:01:51] well he has very good traveling speed

[1:01:54] Feats as he normally flies through space

[1:01:57] unfortunately he has significantly more

[1:01:59] battle speed anti Feats what this really

[1:02:03] comes down to is plot and du stupidity

[1:02:05] the writer needs to find a way to keep

[1:02:07] The Godly Avenger tied up so the rest of

[1:02:09] the team actually has some time to shine

[1:02:12] this translates to Thor being smacked

[1:02:13] around by slow moving attacks hit by

[1:02:16] cars shot with normal Guns Etc in

[1:02:19] reality he has plenty of battle Feats

[1:02:21] that show him with much greater reaction

[1:02:23] times but because there are just so so

[1:02:25] many many scans of Thor jobbing to slow

[1:02:28] moving objects there's a peras of belief

[1:02:31] that Thor is super strong but very

[1:02:34] slow interverse

[1:02:37] mechanics so you understand magic

[1:02:40] systems Naruto has chakra Avatar has

[1:02:43] bending but what about this let's say

[1:02:46] Ang tries to do Spirit bending an

[1:02:48] ability that takes away his opponent's

[1:02:50] ability to bend and he uses it on

[1:02:54] Kakashi would Spirit Bend ending sever

[1:02:56] Kakashi's ability to use chakra would it

[1:02:59] stop a Jedi from using the force this

[1:03:02] question is how the mechanics of

[1:03:03] abilities work across Universe are

[1:03:06] important and must be decided before a

[1:03:09] debate if you hope to get anywhere

[1:03:11] otherwise even the weakest of characters

[1:03:13] from Hunter Hunter could defeat Goku

[1:03:16] with a simple Ren projection that's kind

[1:03:18] of

[1:03:19] silly Ash's Pikachu this is a reference

[1:03:23] to the Pikachu from the Pokémon anime in

[1:03:25] game

[1:03:26] if you take the time to actually

[1:03:27] calculate every battle this Pikachu has

[1:03:29] been in all the XP he should have earned

[1:03:32] from those fights in conjunction with

[1:03:34] some of the crazy Feats he displays in

[1:03:35] the movies he becomes disgustingly

[1:03:38] powerful for example in the 18th movie

[1:03:41] during a clash against the antagonist

[1:03:43] Hoopa Pikachu's Thunderbolt is able to

[1:03:46] counteract the force of six of the most

[1:03:48] powerful legendaries in existence

[1:03:51] including Dialga pelia and gutina it's

[1:03:55] lumped in with some attacks from other

[1:03:56] legendaries but through scaling it's

[1:03:58] clear that they were holding off Hoopa

[1:04:01] so Ash's Pikachu is literally on the

[1:04:03] level of the Pokemon gods of time space

[1:04:06] and antimatter and if you don't believe

[1:04:08] me I'll put the scale for this one in

[1:04:10] the

[1:04:12] description

[1:04:15] sttgl in the gyx anime guran lagon the

[1:04:19] main character Simone the Digger Pilots

[1:04:21] a Mecca along with his crew team die the

[1:04:25] Mecca continuously evolves throughout

[1:04:27] the series attaching onto and absorbing

[1:04:30] larger and larger enemy mechs towards

[1:04:33] the end of the show Simone's spiral

[1:04:35] power or Humanity's indomitable Spirit

[1:04:38] push their Mech to evolve to extremely

[1:04:42] high levels of power their Pinnacle is

[1:04:45] super Tangen tapa guran lagon which is

[1:04:48] what sttgl stands for this enormous

[1:04:52] construct dwarfs the entire universe and

[1:04:55] has 11th dimensional multiversal attack

[1:04:59] potency and durability omnipresence

[1:05:02] probability altering attacks and this is

[1:05:05] all with the implication that it can

[1:05:07] continue evolving further forever

[1:05:12] sttgl is usually used as a benchmark

[1:05:15] when discussing complex multiversal

[1:05:17] opponents or as an easy dunk when

[1:05:20] someone says Goku is the strongest anime

[1:05:22] character ever he's not

[1:05:26] dodging

[1:05:27] lasers this refers to a character's

[1:05:29] Feats where they Dodge out of the way of

[1:05:31] a laser attack and how that doesn't

[1:05:33] necessarily imply they have light speed

[1:05:35] movements or reaction times for example

[1:05:38] if you shot a laser gun at Batman and he

[1:05:41] dodged the blast it's likely because he

[1:05:43] got out of the way while you were aiming

[1:05:45] and pulling the trigger not after it

[1:05:47] already fired this is important to

[1:05:50] understand so characters aren't

[1:05:51] accidentally scaled up to outpacing

[1:05:54] photons

[1:05:55] tier

[1:05:58] seven from here on out we're getting a

[1:06:01] lot of deep Cuts strange arguments

[1:06:03] confusing logical fallacies and Niche

[1:06:06] ideas that Debaters will reference like

[1:06:09] top level chess players bringing up

[1:06:11] famous strategies and

[1:06:13] gambits higher dimensional

[1:06:16] existence we sort of covered the basics

[1:06:18] of this one already we know a being with

[1:06:21] fourth-dimensional strength has more

[1:06:23] than infinite three-dimensional strength

[1:06:25] but often times they're typically bound

[1:06:28] to three dimensions and only express

[1:06:30] higher dimensional stats when

[1:06:32] participating in their outlandish

[1:06:34] battles but a being that has higher

[1:06:36] dimensional existence is by their very

[1:06:39] nature Unbound by our three dimensions

[1:06:42] physical distance and its implied

[1:06:44] limitations do not apply and so they

[1:06:46] appear Godly in turn for example Mr

[1:06:50] mix's Pedic of DC Comics is a

[1:06:53] fifth-dimensional imp he can c usually

[1:06:56] teleport reality warp and use all manner

[1:06:58] of hacks because spending any time down

[1:07:01] in the third dimension is like entering

[1:07:04] Minecraft creative mode for him

[1:07:08] Omniverse you know that a universe is an

[1:07:11] infinite 3D Space Bound by time and a

[1:07:14] Multiverse is a collection of universes

[1:07:16] bound across a Fifth Dimension but what

[1:07:19] about a Multiverse of

[1:07:21] multiverses this is what's known as a

[1:07:24] hyperverse and that name sticks for the

[1:07:26] 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th and 11th Dimensions

[1:07:32] but if you're feeling really cheeky and

[1:07:34] you want multiple 11th dimensional hyper

[1:07:36] verses all collected beneath a 12th

[1:07:39] Dimension this is known as an Omniverse

[1:07:43] it's essentially incomprehensible for us

[1:07:46] to Fathom but there are fictional

[1:07:48] characters that have this level of Power

[1:07:50] Note Omniverse is sometimes used

[1:07:53] interchangeably with outerverse

[1:07:55] if a character is called outer versal

[1:07:58] this means they are Beyond 11th

[1:08:00] dimensional in attack potency durability

[1:08:03] speed

[1:08:04] Etc argument from incredulity fallacy

[1:08:09] this is a very common fallacy that

[1:08:10] people often struggle to argue against

[1:08:12] because they don't know how when someone

[1:08:15] commits this fallacy they claim

[1:08:16] something is wrong simply because they

[1:08:19] can't believe it they refuse evidence

[1:08:21] simply because it seems outlandish to

[1:08:24] them for example some someone making

[1:08:25] this fallacy might say I don't care if

[1:08:28] you have a scan I don't believe

[1:08:30] precrisis Superman destroyed a solar

[1:08:32] system with a sneeze that's too stupid

[1:08:35] so it didn't happen he can't do that

[1:08:39] ultimately this is a really childish

[1:08:41] argument but that's what makes it so

[1:08:43] difficult to

[1:08:44] refute gag

[1:08:46] character a gag character is one whose

[1:08:49] purpose in a story is for comedy

[1:08:51] primarily usually with a heaping helping

[1:08:54] of Tune Force the reason they're on this

[1:08:56] iceberg is many people believe gag

[1:08:59] characters inherently win versus battles

[1:09:01] by their very nature taking that a step

[1:09:04] further they can then apply the term gag

[1:09:06] character onto a character who happens

[1:09:09] to be funny and suddenly they now have

[1:09:11] an argument as to why they're Invincible

[1:09:14] of course we know by now that Tune Force

[1:09:16] often has limits and Powerful gag

[1:09:18] characters are still subject to the

[1:09:20] world of ants argument so if you run

[1:09:22] into this argument in the wild now

[1:09:24] you'll know it's both

[1:09:26] Krillin versus

[1:09:28] Marvel this is in reference to Sunny

[1:09:31] straight the English voice actor for

[1:09:33] Krillin in Dragon Ball Z he made a

[1:09:35] Twitter post in 2017 where he stated

[1:09:37] that Krillin despite being relatively

[1:09:40] weak in his own series could defeat

[1:09:42] every character in the Marvel Universe

[1:09:45] with ease and defeat all the Avengers at

[1:09:47] once this led to a bit of a dog pile

[1:09:51] where hundreds of power scalers sent him

[1:09:53] arguments scans and quotes from guide

[1:09:55] books telling him just how wrong he was

[1:09:58] and while he tried to argue a little bit

[1:10:00] at the end of the day he responded

[1:10:01] pretty charitably with a wow you guys

[1:10:03] sure know a lot uh maybe there are some

[1:10:05] pretty strong Marvel characters out

[1:10:07] there I think he handled it well but

[1:10:10] some people still reference it when

[1:10:11] discussing how little the general public

[1:10:13] actually knows or understands about the

[1:10:16] complexity of these things but as long

[1:10:18] as you're nice about it remember it's

[1:10:20] okay to be proven wrong sometimes we're

[1:10:23] all having fun with this you don't need

[1:10:24] to be V triolic or

[1:10:26] snarky SCP

[1:10:30] 682 known as the hardto destroy reptile

[1:10:33] this is one of the countless entries in

[1:10:35] the SCP Foundation Wiki a collaborative

[1:10:38] fictional Secret Agency that captures

[1:10:41] and retains anomalous monsters and

[1:10:43] objects 682 is a large lizard with the

[1:10:47] unique ability of adaptation what this

[1:10:50] means is that it will instantaneously

[1:10:52] evolve in order to survive whatever

[1:10:55] situation it's put in if you put it

[1:10:57] underwater it grows gills if you drop it

[1:10:59] in lava it becomes heat resistant put

[1:11:01] him in space hey he no longer needs to

[1:11:04] breathe what makes him so formidable is

[1:11:06] when you start to get creative well if I

[1:11:08] threw Naruto at him he'd likely found a

[1:11:11] way to nullify chakra if I pit him up

[1:11:14] against Superman he'd grow immensely

[1:11:16] stronger and gain the ability to fly and

[1:11:19] if you had SCP 682 fight super tangin

[1:11:22] tapa G and lagon he'd likely evolve into

[1:11:25] an outerversal being see how quickly

[1:11:28] this becomes

[1:11:29] insane immeasurable

[1:11:32] speed we discussed speed earlier from

[1:11:35] subsonic all the way to massively faster

[1:11:37] than light and if you understand

[1:11:39] infinite speed too but beyond that is

[1:11:42] immeasurable speed when something is

[1:11:45] immeasurably fast it not only can move

[1:11:48] infinitely fast but it can travel

[1:11:50] through time see if speed is distance

[1:11:53] over time the only way way to go faster

[1:11:56] than infinite distance over finite time

[1:11:59] is infinite distance over negative time

[1:12:02] going so fast you finished the race

[1:12:05] before you start it looking at it

[1:12:07] another way say that there were a closed

[1:12:09] space where time does not exist if you

[1:12:12] or I were there we would be frozen

[1:12:14] completely unable to think or move

[1:12:16] because time does not pass but a being

[1:12:19] with immeasurable speed is able to move

[1:12:22] even in a realm without time it is only

[1:12:25] a single step down from True

[1:12:28] omnipresence Zeno the Omni

[1:12:31] King introduced in Dragon Ball super

[1:12:34] Zeno is the little guy who sits a top

[1:12:36] the hierarchy of gods because Dragon

[1:12:39] Ball is the series that got so many

[1:12:40] people into Power scaling to begin with

[1:12:42] there's a very large consensus who

[1:12:44] believes Zeno is omnipotent this is not

[1:12:48] true Zeno may be the most powerful being

[1:12:50] in Dragon Ball but we know that at the

[1:12:53] very least he's Bound By The Fifth

[1:12:54] Dimension ition as multiple versions of

[1:12:57] him exist across different timelines

[1:12:59] Zeno is not all powerful he is not on

[1:13:02] the level of the one above all or the

[1:13:05] presence Mario and Luigi versus

[1:13:09] seepo this one is a bit of a meme but

[1:13:12] it's pretty funny it started as a

[1:13:14] Twitter thread pitting various video

[1:13:16] game characters against one another but

[1:13:18] the reason it got so popular is because

[1:13:19] of the outcome Mario and Luigi take this

[1:13:22] fight easily and it's not even close

[1:13:25] close obviously sepo is an extremely

[1:13:27] powerful character he's the final boss

[1:13:30] of Final Fantasy 7 but Mario and Luigi

[1:13:33] specifically from their titular RPG

[1:13:35] series like Dream Team or Bowser's

[1:13:37] Inside Story have way crazier Feats they

[1:13:41] regularly bounce back attacks with the

[1:13:42] Bros Hammer that are far stronger and

[1:13:45] faster than anything sepo can put out

[1:13:48] especially from their confrontation with

[1:13:50] dream Bowser who had fifth-dimensional

[1:13:52] attack potency the Mario Brothers can

[1:13:56] even destroy seph Roth's Soul after

[1:13:58] killing his body which makes this a very

[1:14:00] clean

[1:14:02] Victory Kishimoto doesn't know how to

[1:14:04] beat

[1:14:06] MAA this is in reference to a rumor that

[1:14:09] Kishimoto the author of the Naruto manga

[1:14:12] supposedly stated that M ucha had to be

[1:14:15] removed from the story and replaced with

[1:14:17] the villain kaguya because he could not

[1:14:19] figure out how to possibly defeat him

[1:14:22] this is not true uh but due to the

[1:14:24] pervasiveness of this rumor a lot of

[1:14:26] Naruto power scalers believe that this

[1:14:28] makes MAA omnipotent or incorrectly

[1:14:31] scale him as stronger than kagia

[1:14:34] stronger than end of series Naruto and

[1:14:36] Sasuke and just about every other

[1:14:38] character this is a pretty common thing

[1:14:40] in these sorts of debates where people

[1:14:41] will reference different word of God

[1:14:44] statements that were never actually made

[1:14:46] in the first place they're just rumors

[1:14:48] so always be sure to ask for a source or

[1:14:50] a

[1:14:50] scan

[1:14:53] tioo this is a YouTube tuber who's made

[1:14:55] it his goal to get more people

[1:14:57] interested in Zoology or the study of

[1:14:59] animals by power scaling them he uses

[1:15:02] video gaming terminology in a comedic

[1:15:04] fashion referring to continents as

[1:15:06] servers and different species as builds

[1:15:09] but at the core of his content he does

[1:15:11] meticulous quality work outlining the

[1:15:14] size speed weight strength and special

[1:15:17] abilities of countless different animals

[1:15:19] and has made several great tier lists

[1:15:21] scaling different animals within a Genus

[1:15:24] or in a bio

[1:15:26] tier

[1:15:28] eight this tier covers a lot of the

[1:15:31] Heavy Hitters although there are more

[1:15:33] below too extremely strong characters

[1:15:35] and universes that often come up in

[1:15:37] tertiary

[1:15:39] discussions Cosmic armor

[1:15:42] Superman also known as the thought robot

[1:15:45] this is one of the most powerful

[1:15:47] versions of Superman across all cannons

[1:15:49] despite the fact that it's not actually

[1:15:52] Superman created by the outer versal

[1:15:55] race of beings known as the monitors and

[1:15:57] described as being powered by the very

[1:15:59] concepts of symmetry Duality

[1:16:02] probabilities and possibility Cosmic

[1:16:04] armor Superman is literally a plot

[1:16:07] device it takes the physical appearance

[1:16:09] of Superman because it fulfills the role

[1:16:11] that Superman does in every narrative

[1:16:13] but on the grandest scale possible

[1:16:15] within the DC Comics it can adapt

[1:16:18] instantaneously to any Potential Threat

[1:16:21] manipulate reality causality and even

[1:16:24] the plot of the the story

[1:16:26] itself

[1:16:28] Kratos the main character of the God of

[1:16:30] War series The Ghost of Sparta is far

[1:16:33] more powerful than most people believe

[1:16:35] primarily due to the lore surrounding

[1:16:37] his in-game Feats when he manages to

[1:16:39] unlock the power of Hope or the Undying

[1:16:42] Will to carry on he gains the ability to

[1:16:44] manipulate Concepts an abstract

[1:16:47] existence that allows him to resurrect

[1:16:49] eternally even if he's killed the power

[1:16:52] to negate the immortality of those he

[1:16:54] fights as well as negate curses he has

[1:16:57] low multiversal level attack potency was

[1:17:00] able to battle on par with Thor and the

[1:17:02] nidhog who could chew through the fabric

[1:17:05] of the

[1:17:06] Multiverse lime

[1:17:09] green this is an obscure meme a

[1:17:12] reference to Gojo from Jujutsu Kaizen

[1:17:14] Gojo's primary cursed ability is

[1:17:16] Limitless or the ability to manipulate

[1:17:18] the concept of infinity he has the curse

[1:17:21] technique blue which allows him to

[1:17:23] essentially create a black hole forcing

[1:17:25] matter closer together his reverse curse

[1:17:28] technique red does the opposite

[1:17:30] repelling all matter in a burst of

[1:17:32] energy and when he performs both

[1:17:35] simultaneously essentially combining the

[1:17:37] power of positive and negative Infinity

[1:17:40] you get Hollow purple harnessing the

[1:17:43] power of the imaginary number to create

[1:17:45] an Infinity that does not exist in this

[1:17:48] reality it deletes from existence

[1:17:50] anything it touches in a gigantic

[1:17:52] torrent lime green is the fan-made

[1:17:56] concept of Gojo creating yet another

[1:17:58] extremely powerful attack that surpasses

[1:18:01] the others following the nameing

[1:18:02] convention of a color uh lime green was

[1:18:05] picked because of how weirdly specific

[1:18:07] and funny it is I should note that part

[1:18:09] of this meme developed from a quote from

[1:18:11] the author of jjk who said Gojo succeeds

[1:18:15] at anything he tries of course people

[1:18:17] have interpreted this to mean he could

[1:18:19] literally beat anyone ever um and of

[1:18:21] course they're

[1:18:23] wrong Z know

[1:18:26] Goku this is one alternate universe

[1:18:28] version of Sun Goku from the Super

[1:18:30] Dragon Ball Heroes promotional anime and

[1:18:33] manga series it's important to note that

[1:18:35] this is a different version from the

[1:18:36] Goku people usually discuss this version

[1:18:39] lived through all the events of the

[1:18:41] non-canon movies as well as the timeline

[1:18:44] of Dragon Ball GT so Zeno Goku can

[1:18:47] transform into Super Saiyan 4 but not

[1:18:49] any of the god forms or Ultra Instinct

[1:18:52] he also has a slew of Feats from the

[1:18:54] Super Dragon Ball Heroes manga in anime

[1:18:57] where he acts as a Time patroller

[1:18:59] battling villains that threaten a

[1:19:00] multitude of different causalities due

[1:19:03] to the absurdity of his Feats and the

[1:19:05] Feats of his enemies Zeno Goku scales up

[1:19:08] to sixth dimensional or complex

[1:19:10] multiversal he's currently much stronger

[1:19:13] than Canon

[1:19:14] Goku post Hawk Argo prompter hawk

[1:19:19] sometimes just called the post Hawk

[1:19:20] fallacy this is when someone assumes two

[1:19:23] events happening in sequence have a

[1:19:25] causal relationship for example

[1:19:27] Spider-Man's costume was ripped when he

[1:19:30] fought against Green Goblin in this

[1:19:31] particular issue Spider-Man won this

[1:19:34] fight therefore we know that his costume

[1:19:36] being ripped is what gave him the

[1:19:38] strength to do it this obviously ignores

[1:19:40] the multitude of other reasons

[1:19:41] Spider-Man could have won the fight and

[1:19:43] while it may seem silly a lot of people

[1:19:45] use this

[1:19:47] fallacy multiversal Dooms Slayer the

[1:19:50] Doom Slayer also known as Doom guy is

[1:19:53] the main character of the Doom series of

[1:19:55] video games put simply he hates demons

[1:19:58] and he loves killing them using a vast

[1:20:00] array of different increasingly bigger

[1:20:02] guns what's so interesting about him is

[1:20:05] that if you read the lore associated

[1:20:06] with the games it becomes evident that

[1:20:08] he's not just some building level super

[1:20:11] soldier type character he slays Khan

[1:20:14] mcir the Supreme Being of the

[1:20:16] six-dimensional space known as erak and

[1:20:19] while fighting against the forces of

[1:20:21] Hell which is a higher dimensional plane

[1:20:23] than ddac Doom guy actually implodes the

[1:20:26] Multiverse containing an infinite

[1:20:28] variability of branching timelines hell

[1:20:31] is not bound by time space or even

[1:20:34] Dimensions it is only Bound by the

[1:20:36] concept of chaos and its dark lord davo

[1:20:40] uh is the source of all of Hell's power

[1:20:41] and yeah Doom guy killed him too

[1:20:44] destroying his very

[1:20:45] essence Super Boy

[1:20:48] Prime this is an alternate universe

[1:20:50] version of Superman who lost his home

[1:20:53] planet in the crisis on infinite Earth's

[1:20:55] storyline slowly driven mad by this he

[1:20:58] eventually cracked and went on a tear

[1:21:01] across the Multiverse trying to destroy

[1:21:03] everything and bring back his own

[1:21:05] version of Earth what's so special about

[1:21:07] Super Boy Prime is that he is

[1:21:09] significantly stronger than post crisis

[1:21:12] Superman as well as most other

[1:21:14] kryptonians he's immune to Kryptonite

[1:21:17] and Magic he's immune to reality warping

[1:21:19] hacks too he casually tortured Mr Mixie

[1:21:22] spck and was unaffected Ed by Dr

[1:21:25] Manhattan his presence alone strikes

[1:21:28] fear Into the Heart of Green Lantern

[1:21:30] rings not Green Lanterns but the Rings

[1:21:33] themselves his punches not only shatter

[1:21:36] Dimensions but rewrite realities his

[1:21:39] punches literally create retcons he

[1:21:42] shattered the anti- monitor in a single

[1:21:44] strike making him sixth dimensional on a

[1:21:47] very low

[1:21:48] lowball metahuman

[1:21:51] Ash so we know how powerful Ash's

[1:21:53] Pikachu is is but what about Ash Ketchum

[1:21:56] himself believe it or not due to some of

[1:21:58] the shenanigans that take place in the

[1:22:00] anime 10-year-old Ash is actually a very

[1:22:04] powerful superhuman he has relativistic

[1:22:07] reaction speeds shown while dodging

[1:22:09] light based attacks from Pokemon he's

[1:22:12] fast enough to run straight up a wall

[1:22:14] strong enough to casually lift a cosmoem

[1:22:17] which weighs over 2,000 lb he's jumped

[1:22:21] hundreds of feet in the air and even

[1:22:23] Tanked is level attacks all that and it

[1:22:27] still took him 20 years to finally

[1:22:29] become a Pokemon Master he should have

[1:22:31] just started throwing hands with the

[1:22:33] Pokemon

[1:22:34] himself tier

[1:22:38] nine we're too deep now it's your last

[1:22:41] chance to turn

[1:22:43] back the Scarlet

[1:22:45] King the SCP Foundation has thousands of

[1:22:49] entries but perhaps the most important

[1:22:50] entry is SCP 001

[1:22:54] and that's because we don't actually

[1:22:56] know what 001 is there are 10 proposed

[1:23:00] possible contenders for the spot with

[1:23:02] the other nine being deliberate

[1:23:04] misinformation created in order to

[1:23:06] prevent the real one from being

[1:23:08] discovered one of these proposals is

[1:23:10] known as the Scarlet King an ancient

[1:23:13] evil God of chaos that consumed all the

[1:23:16] other Elder gods and has been attempting

[1:23:18] to enter our reality to lay waste to it

[1:23:22] the king's mere presence in our world

[1:23:24] would tear apart the fabric of reality

[1:23:26] and spell an end to the universe and all

[1:23:29] adjacent causalities he has an

[1:23:31] outerversal existence and immortality

[1:23:34] SpaceTime and conceptual manipulation

[1:23:38] and he possesses an acausal form meaning

[1:23:40] if you manage to destroy him in the

[1:23:42] present it will not affect him in the

[1:23:44] future and he can simply return he even

[1:23:47] destroyed the world tree an infinite

[1:23:50] Library filled with platonic

[1:23:53] Concepts dark

[1:23:55] Schneider a dark wizard from the battle

[1:23:58] sign in bastard dark Schneider is

[1:24:00] Infamous among power scalers for his

[1:24:02] ridiculous amount of specific hacks

[1:24:05] abilities and resistances I'm going to

[1:24:08] give you an Abridged list for the sake

[1:24:09] of brevity but know that he has a lot

[1:24:12] more than this he has a collection of

[1:24:14] barriers known as dispel bounds Each of

[1:24:17] which is designed to repel a different

[1:24:19] type of attack there's a dispel Bound

[1:24:21] for magic reality warping Psy attacks

[1:24:25] physical attacks herbicide insecticide

[1:24:28] gas attacks sound waves anti-

[1:24:31] assimilation immortality eraser there's

[1:24:33] a lie detector anti-p paralysis

[1:24:36] anti-poison anti- camouflage even

[1:24:39] penicillin whatever the hell that means

[1:24:41] and every single barrier can repel up to

[1:24:45] 67 billion attacks every second and if

[1:24:49] you somehow manage to break through

[1:24:51] every barrier you need to destroy dark

[1:24:53] Schneider on three separate planes of

[1:24:56] existence or he'll immediately

[1:24:58] regenerate He even wears a set of armor

[1:25:00] connected to every single Dimension so

[1:25:03] higher dimensional beings need to

[1:25:04] contend with that before attempting to

[1:25:06] attack

[1:25:07] him reality

[1:25:10] Equalization this is an important

[1:25:12] concept to grasp when discussing

[1:25:14] interverse battles where one character

[1:25:16] hails from a lower version of reality I

[1:25:19] don't mean a lower Dimension but a lower

[1:25:21] form of reality so for example sord word

[1:25:24] art online or Tron they both take place

[1:25:27] in Virtual Worlds so the characters

[1:25:29] would technically immediately lose

[1:25:31] against any character from a physical

[1:25:33] world reality Equalization is where we

[1:25:35] say okay if this character from Sword

[1:25:38] Art Online is going to fight this

[1:25:40] character from Black Clover or assuming

[1:25:43] they both have a physical existence for

[1:25:45] the sake of this hypothetical

[1:25:48] battle DC humans double

[1:25:51] stats so in the Marvel Universe

[1:25:54] superheroes are always running around

[1:25:56] real cities like New York Chicago La Etc

[1:25:59] but in the DC Universe all the cities

[1:26:02] are fictional Gotham Metropolis West

[1:26:05] City Star City but what most people

[1:26:08] don't know is that all the real cities

[1:26:10] also exist New York City is just North

[1:26:13] of metropolis coast city is just south

[1:26:15] of San Francisco so if all these cities

[1:26:18] exist the actual Earth must be larger

[1:26:21] than Earth in real life right otherwise

[1:26:24] how would you fit twice the amount of

[1:26:26] cities and that's where the scale comes

[1:26:28] in the theory is all human characters on

[1:26:32] DC's Earth actually have twice the

[1:26:35] strength and speed of a normal human

[1:26:37] because the gravity is double they look

[1:26:40] normal on their home Earth but if you

[1:26:42] took Batman and placed him on Marvel's

[1:26:45] Earth he would be a genuine

[1:26:47] superhuman

[1:26:50] Popeye the cartoon sailor from the early

[1:26:53] 20th century com comics and cartoons

[1:26:55] Popeye is famous for his spinach gimmick

[1:26:58] where he gulps down a can of spinach and

[1:27:00] through the power of Tune Force grows

[1:27:02] impossibly strong but he does more than

[1:27:05] lift heavy things poey actually has some

[1:27:07] Bonkers Feats he can send his punches

[1:27:11] through radio waves punch hard enough to

[1:27:13] alter the weather use his bicep like a

[1:27:15] crystal ball and gaze into the future he

[1:27:18] can manipulate his own age survive in

[1:27:21] space without air or an atmosphere shape

[1:27:23] shift in into a rocket ship transmute a

[1:27:26] lion into a basketball and even survived

[1:27:29] reality being deleted and he doesn't

[1:27:32] even have access to a can of spinach

[1:27:34] because he can summon one from thin air

[1:27:36] with a whistle or petition spinachia

[1:27:39] goddess of spinach and no I didn't just

[1:27:42] make that last one up that's

[1:27:44] real 9in

[1:27:47] skulls several years ago there was a

[1:27:50] post on the who would win sub renit

[1:27:52] asking if Batman could defeat a

[1:27:54] Silverback Gorilla in hand-to-hand

[1:27:56] combat the outcome of that particular

[1:27:58] debate isn't important what is important

[1:28:01] is that one of the commenters tried to

[1:28:03] argue that the gorilla could not suffer

[1:28:05] concussive damage to the head because

[1:28:07] its skull was quote 9 in thick now in

[1:28:11] actuality a Silverback Gorilla's skull

[1:28:13] is about 9 in Long which is probably

[1:28:16] where the commenter got confused uh but

[1:28:19] to put that into perspective if the bone

[1:28:21] of a gorilla's skull were 9 in Ines

[1:28:24] thick Not only would their head be three

[1:28:27] times as big but they could stop sniper

[1:28:30] bullets with their foreheads 9 in of

[1:28:33] solid bone is such a ridiculous and

[1:28:35] implausible assumption to make that it

[1:28:37] became a meme and people would often

[1:28:39] reference it like well uh maybe Ichigo

[1:28:43] loses to Naruto but what if Ichigo had a

[1:28:45] 9in skull what

[1:28:47] then tier

[1:28:51] 10 this is the bottom there's no

[1:28:55] escaping now embrace

[1:28:58] it argument from

[1:29:01] narrative this is a fallacy where one

[1:29:03] argues not using the Feats or scaling

[1:29:06] for a character but instead by analyzing

[1:29:08] the role they play in a story and

[1:29:11] transposing that onto the hypothetical

[1:29:13] Narrative of a debate I think the best

[1:29:15] example I can give is the two death

[1:29:17] battles between Goku and Superman the

[1:29:20] conclusion they reached was that

[1:29:21] Superman wins not necessarily because he

[1:29:24] has Feats that are greater than Goku's

[1:29:27] but because in Superman stories he's

[1:29:30] always as strong as he needs to be to

[1:29:32] win so in this scenario where he fights

[1:29:34] Goku he's as strong as he needs to be to

[1:29:37] win it's important to understand that

[1:29:39] this is a fallacy and if you were to

[1:29:41] take this seriously then any protagonist

[1:29:44] would automatically beat any other

[1:29:45] character you put them up against

[1:29:47] because protagonists have a nagging

[1:29:49] tendency to win their battles of course

[1:29:52] gone freaks defeats Vegeta in the story

[1:29:55] of Hunter Hunter gone is a freak of

[1:29:57] nature who always pulls out a victory

[1:30:00] see it's silly and it's it's

[1:30:02] wrong as

[1:30:04] athoth the works of HP Lovecraft often

[1:30:08] delve into a Pantheon of gods renowned

[1:30:10] for their Cosmic horror or the way their

[1:30:13] unfathomable existence strikes fear into

[1:30:16] the reader through inherent

[1:30:19] incomprehensibility most popular of

[1:30:21] these Gods is cthulu but the greatest of

[1:30:24] these Gods is the demon Sultan aatho

[1:30:28] ruling over time and space from a Black

[1:30:30] Throne in the center of chaos this outer

[1:30:33] veral Supreme deity is omniscient

[1:30:36] omnipresent and omnipotent his very form

[1:30:39] is not only a causal but a conceptual he

[1:30:43] cannot ever truly be perceived and every

[1:30:46] time someone glimpses his nature they

[1:30:48] see a completely different

[1:30:50] form sugs verse

[1:30:54] this refers to a collection of stories

[1:30:56] written by liony C sugs built upon the

[1:30:59] initial idea of pushing the very

[1:31:01] boundaries of What fictional characters

[1:31:03] are capable of achieving the quality of

[1:31:06] his writing is generally considered to

[1:31:08] be rather poor but Suggs himself as an

[1:31:11] interesting individual and he has a

[1:31:13] rather pervasive digital footprint

[1:31:15] across various different websites and

[1:31:17] forums scaling different characters and

[1:31:20] explaining his own character's abilities

[1:31:22] to give you a general idea of what to

[1:31:23] EXP ECT when reading Suggs verse content

[1:31:26] many characters are not only omnipotent

[1:31:29] but have power equal to omnipotence

[1:31:32] multiplied by Infinity now you probably

[1:31:36] guessed this is inherently nonsensical

[1:31:38] it doesn't make any sense but that's how

[1:31:40] Suggs verse characters function they are

[1:31:42] literally different conceptual forms of

[1:31:45] logic used to describe their abilities

[1:31:48] Spade logic and sugs logic when a

[1:31:51] character grows powerful enough they

[1:31:53] stop operating in accordance with

[1:31:55] logical principles and Ascend to the

[1:31:57] complex and confusing principles of one

[1:31:59] of these new forms of logic and at the

[1:32:02] very peak of power that a character can

[1:32:04] attain they tap into our final entry in

[1:32:08] this

[1:32:09] Iceberg reality fiction

[1:32:12] Transcendence Beyond Infinite Strength

[1:32:15] beyond the outerverse transcending

[1:32:18] causality omnipotence all forms of

[1:32:21] platonic Concepts and logic sitting at

[1:32:24] the very highest point in all of fiction

[1:32:27] is the real world our real world the one

[1:32:31] where you're watching a YouTube video

[1:32:32] right now the greatest feat a fictional

[1:32:35] character could possibly achieve would

[1:32:37] be to affect us affect the real world

[1:32:42] that is reality fiction

[1:32:44] Transcendence of course there's a

[1:32:46] simulated form of this Deadpool or

[1:32:49] She-Hulk will leave their comic book

[1:32:51] story and actually go speak to the

[1:32:53] writers at Marvel Studios but those

[1:32:55] events are still bound within the comic

[1:32:58] book or TV show where they happen this

[1:33:00] is just breaking the fourth wall true

[1:33:03] fiction Transcendence which we could

[1:33:05] call breaking the fifth wall is if

[1:33:08] Deadpool were to actually step out of

[1:33:10] the screen and shake your hand and until

[1:33:14] this happens the throne at the absolute

[1:33:17] Pinnacle of power scaling Still Remains

[1:33:20] unclaimed

[1:33:24] wow that was a lot honestly with how

[1:33:28] many different characters and worlds

[1:33:30] there are throughout all of fiction I

[1:33:32] could probably make an entirely separate

[1:33:34] Iceberg filled with more Niche and

[1:33:36] interesting power scaling topics and

[1:33:38] Concepts but I think this one gives you

[1:33:40] a pretty damn good intro into the

[1:33:43] hobby the last thing I want to say which

[1:33:46] is sort of like my love letter to the

[1:33:48] communities that I've been browsing

[1:33:49] since I was in Middle School is this

[1:33:52] power scaling is a fun F harmless

[1:33:55] activity for nerds who like math and

[1:33:57] debate as long as you're not toxic about

[1:34:00] it and you don't spend your time

[1:34:01] bothering people with hot takes they

[1:34:03] didn't ask for power scaling is a great

[1:34:06] hobby just like writing fanfiction or

[1:34:09] shipping or making stand edits or

[1:34:12] whatever else power scaling is a totally

[1:34:14] legitimate way to appreciate media that

[1:34:17] you like and if someone tells you it's

[1:34:19] stupid or pointless or annoying tell

[1:34:22] them they have no right to police how

[1:34:25] you choose to engage with your favorite

[1:34:28] stories
