[00:12] Many of you may have seen this story the other day about a 12-year-old who tragically passed away from pancreatic cancer, and the last video that was posted of him was opening Pokemon Packs where he pulled a Jirachi SIR.

[00:24] He was extremely excited and very passionate about Pokemon, and it is a heartbreaking video to watch, and my best wishes go out to his family. Now, normal, sane people see or hear about a story like this and exhibit real human emotion.

[00:42] Scalpers see something like this, and they get dollar signs in their eyes like fucking Mr. Krabs, because you know what happened after this story went viral? Scalpers then started to artificially inflate the price of that Jirachi SIR that Avery pulled

[00:58] in order to make money off of it because of the interest in the card now. So you have these fucking freaks that are monitoring Pokemon cards like Professor X and Cerebro just jacking in looking for every opportunity to exploit and sink even lower

[01:13] to try and squeeze a couple extra clams out of the hobby. So here's one of the thousands of accounts that are just constantly perusing Pokemon charts, and it's reporting on the recent climb in price for this card.

[01:26] Breaking news, the Jirachi EX Special Illustration Rare, by the way, misspelled Jirachi, even though the fucking name is right there in front of you, LARPer, none of these revolting putrid mosquitoes know anything about Pokemon,

[01:38] and don't even pretend to, they don't even put up a facade. They are just blatantly bending over, showing their whole ass, and letting you know that they are only here for money. So even this account that just reports on Pokemon,

[01:51] like that's their big fucking thing, Lord Charizard here, by the way, doesn't even know how to spell Jirachi. Yeah, you're not fooling anyone, Buster. But anyway, the Jirachi climbed over $100

[02:03] after being in the $70 price range a few days ago. It is entirely because of the story of Avery and him pulling it on camera If you know the reason backstory of this card It understandable why its value has climbed No you loveless ogre there nothing understandable about what happened here The

[02:22] card's value was immediately inflated overnight, pretty much instantly once the video went viral. This is just degenerate garbage. This card will be remembered forever. Yeah, it will. And you know

[02:34] what else will be remembered forever? These scalpers that are trying to use a child's death to make a couple extra dollars. Some of these delusional insects even have the gall to try and spin this as a positive thing,

[02:46] like this is their way of honoring Avery's memory and his legacy by selling the Jirachi at a higher price that they are jacking up themselves. Real people, by the way. They actually exist.

[02:58] And it is unfortunately a real thing that's been happening with this card. If you look at the price history for the Jirachi SIR, around the 21st of September, it was selling in the 60 to 70 ballpark, then Avery's story went viral on the 22nd and 23rd,

[03:15] and then you can immediately see the next day, basically, the card then starts going up for hundreds of dollars, and then their sales for 100 plus for the card. And now the lowest listing

[03:27] price for it is $114. But maybe this is too cynical. Maybe I'm just looking at it, you know, way too much of a scrooge. These are probably good people with good souls that,

[03:39] you know, the markup isn't meant to be disrespectful. You know, this is in celebrating Avery, you know, honoring him. And who wouldn't want to support some good old-fashioned small business owners that are just in the community

[03:53] because they love it, just in the hobby for the love of the game, like this guy. I pull hundreds of Pokemon cards, and I'm 35. I have more of a legacy than that kid That was in a Pokemon restocking Discord when there was a lot of, like, discussion and some turmoil about the price of this card going through the roof now after Avery's passing.

[04:13] So, that's how they're defending themselves, by the way. Now, I haven't gone deep into the Discords or anything. That is a screenshot that's floated around a lot. Could it have been posted ironically? Maybe. But people like that do very much exist.

[04:26] Like these scalpers do have that attitude that is just who they are as things I struggle to call them people to be honest The whole thing is so extraordinarily fucked up that these salpers have now flocked to

[04:40] Jirachi SIR in order to keep driving the price up because now that everyone is talking about that card in Avery's story, they've realized that they can market up by absurd levels and make more money off it to try and capitalize off a 12-year-old's death. And it's gotten

[04:56] so bad that now people are starting to point the finger at the family, saying that they're the ones kind of driving it, they're behind the wheel here trying to make money off of it. And I imagine a lot of that comes from scalpers trying to scapegoat and pass the

[05:10] blame on the family. No, no, no, like the family's doing it too, like they're making money. So now Avery's family has come forward to address this because it's gotten so out of control. So they posted this, the statement from Avery's family, we are not involved in

[05:24] or benefiting from any cards being sold in Avery's name or likeness. We have not approved these sales. We have asked sellers to take their listings down. Please do so immediately. This does not honor Avery's generous heart.

[05:36] We are mourning our son and caring for our children. Please let us do that in peace, Christian and Rebecca. This is a family that now can't even mourn their son properly because these fucking sick freaks are out there trying to capitalize off their son's passing.
