YouTubers Should Update These Settings... NOW!

[00:00] that we do a little housekeeping on our YouTube channels. that are interacting with our content, that we need to make sure that we have set up as well.

[00:13] for hackers to get control of your YouTube channel. The first section is channel cleanup and we're starting right now with channel cleanup.

[00:28] added to your channel page as sections. is it simply makes it easy for the viewers to find more of the content of yours that they wanna watch.

[00:42] is you wanna put your uploads playlist at the top, for whatever date range that you select. and the 90-day view, so you can get an idea for the content

[00:57] In my case, I have two AI videos that were pretty strong I'm gonna be putting my AI playlist there. are interacting with my content, I'm keeping my YouTube

[01:12] I stopped my news experiment, so I'll be removing that So, make sure you're subscribed, Keep in mind you can move these around at any time.

[01:26] to find more of your content that they're enjoying for the people Also, as a new YouTube feature, you now have the option

[01:39] which at the time of this recording, But it's important to know and click More Settings, you can choose

[01:52] While we're in the Customization tab, set for new and subscribed viewers. or select videos that make sense from your archive.

[02:05] where you can get one after the video is over. to zero when you go to checkout. Here, you'll see your About Me page and channel links.

[02:19] that comes from the top part of your About Me page. as shared on other social media sites, that you have some type of information

[02:33] In your channels links, or you can use TubeSpanner social bio tool. and link all of your social accounts.

[02:46] with this option, add videos, and so on. if you don't have a bunch of things that you're linking to. that's connected directly

[02:58] This email's gonna show up for anybody who looks for it, Doing this is gonna make it just one step harder

[03:10] - [Hacker] Ah, come on man. - Now, we're gonna go into your YouTube settings and make sure that you have only let linked accounts

[03:26] this is supposed to prevent companies from using your videos Next, click on Upload defaults.

[03:38] This feature allows YouTube systems on the videos that it thinks the viewers but if you do wanna control everything about your videos,

[03:54] In this same area, if you click on the Monetization option, or you can keep it on to choose at the time of upload. but it is something that you should update from time to time

[04:07] If you go to the Community section you're gonna see the Blocked words box. when somebody mentions it in your comments.

[04:21] I put the names of political leaders and political parties, and I just don't want those discussions happening here. as a means to try to get people

[04:34] But you can also use this to block things or just other things that bother you. Now, let's talk about content cleanup.

[04:46] We're gonna talk about what to do with videos First, go through your video descriptions and nothing is linking to anything malicious,

[04:59] is because sometimes companies go under that ends up buying their web address, And if somebody ends up following that

[05:12] then you can get in trouble for it. or if you have links that you need to swap out, that will make that process take five minutes

[05:27] to a keyword tool that I no longer recommend, to recommend Opus Clip instead. that it's a great tool for taking long-form content

[05:42] So, I swapped it out for that I changed out 70 something videos in about 3 minutes. It makes that task extremely easy and efficient.

[05:57] for you down in the video description, and make sure that they're linking Since you've been publishing videos on your YouTube channel

[06:11] now, you make better videos, that would just be a much better fit, that you were working on at that time

[06:24] Next, go through your pinned comments is linked to additional content that is relevant, or titles that locks your content into last year,

[06:40] For example, I have videos with 2023 in the title. and I'm gonna swap those out, Now, let's talk about videos that are not getting views

[06:55] What you wanna do and if people responded well in terms of, you know, but maybe they just weren't clicking on it enough,

[07:08] and descriptions on content that you think As part of that, update the description while you're there we listed previously for the content that is getting views.

[07:22] because you don't wanna waste your time doing this And look, this year, I want you It's gonna take work, but I put out a video recently
