You've Never Seen a Wheelchair Like This

[00:00] Not only can it spin in place by balancing on just two wheels, there are some additional features that involve things like disco balls,

[00:13] train horns, spinners and dual mounted Nerf guns. came from the brain of this kid right here. His name is Cash.

[00:26] You fell down? Push off. Now push off your bed right there.

[00:38] That’s what I’m saying boy! I could help you, but you wouldn't know that you could do it on your own. Sometimes in life you fall.

[00:50] You just pull yourself back up. Get up there, get up there. who are there for every challenge.

[01:03] with everything you've got. Pop your wheelie. Go, Go. Don't fall back.

[01:15] Both arms. Push, push, push. Push. Quit rocking it don’t go back–

[01:29] Yeah ha ha ha!! That’s how you get it baby! pregnancy ultrasound

[01:42] because he had a condition called spina bifida. pregnancies like these were terminated And so that refusal to give up, despite the odds, has been his story

[01:57] and whether he’s fostering his diehard passion for basketball by ripping out more pull-ups in a row than I've ever done. he just doesn't waste time with excuses.

[02:10] So once I learned about Cash, I was so inspired by his attitude I knew I had to make my way out to Texas to research what it would take to surprise him by building the wheelchair of his wildest dreams.

[02:22] we got right to work. This makes me want to pen a rock ballad

[02:37] I've now transformed into Roger from the wheelchair supply company. All right, here we go. I'm from the wheelchair Supply company.

[02:51] How do you like this wheelchair? Okay! Such as wheelchair dimensions.

[03:04] How to bomb a rainmaker. And yes, even proper wheelchair motor size. Not even Steven Curry has muscles that big.

[03:17] He is Stephen. Three! What are you talking about?

[03:29] you wish that it had that it doesn't have? And if he just stopped there What if it could go upstairs?

[03:43] And it didn't take much to really open the floodgates. Yeah, every day. Yes!

[04:12] we'd have to compress down to a ten second build montage. They are 5 minutes away.

[04:26] for the big reveal. And Roger was practically my alter ego now, so I didn't need any makeup artist. Let's frickin do this.

[04:40] was Roger's wheelchair supply company. But to Cash Oh he’s huge.

[04:52] It was time for Roger to make an appearance. My mustache is falling off Oh she just found one of the cameras

[05:04] Roger! Good. What are you looking at over there? It looks like a lizard.

[05:18] I'm just going to give you a tour of the wheelchair factory. Okay. This isn't my real hair. This isn't my real goatee.

[05:30] I saw your boxes. We have even cooler stuff here than the fish. And Cash wasted no time

[07:24] and the blinged out wheel-spinners we cooked up three different modes he could switch between by simply sliding a different module down our custom rack hot swap system.

[07:38] a linear actuator raising the disco ball for maximum visibility The second mode is for the days when you need to navigate a crowd because now the green button will activate the train horn.

[07:53] 3... 2... 1... You roll up to school and you want to let everyone know you're there.

[08:05] as well as a soundboard hooked up to the loudspeaker so we could play any custom sound, which would of course include the clown horn. Awww that’s low-brow.

[08:19] But then don't catch yourself sleeping on the number one requested feature Hey, sis!. Bring me a drink of water! And that cupholders the perfect spot to hold a glass of milk.

[08:35] He could pair with the contents of the secret under-seat hidden stash spot. And as for Cash’s verdict on Feastables? And so before I introduce him to the third and final module,

[08:49] I had a demonstration for him. I've seen this done, but I wanted to wait till you were here to do it for the first time myself and I might want to put on my seatbelt

[09:01] Okay, now all I do is hit this stairs button, and when I do that, a set of tracks which are connected to the wheels via And then you just tank-tread your way up any set of stairs.

[09:15] for the most ridiculous modifications of his wheelchair, I'm going up the stairs, buddy. I want to shout out the incredible engineers at Scewo

[11:08] It goes on, yeah. Okay abort! Abort! Like nothing ever happened.

[11:21] Starting line up for the Battle: We put the whole system to one final test. Yeah!

[11:46] Let’s go yes. Did one of you guys hit me in the ear? Can you handle any more surprises?

[13:41] The motto for him, from us is so we don't really have any resistance but we'll get right back at it.

[15:03] And as we were leaving the game because he's one of those rare humans with such an infectious enthusiasm for life

[15:15] who openly embraced the tough challenges as an opportunity to get stronger. And so as we said goodbye, I found myself feeling equal parts grateful I could experience his incredible attitude of resilience firsthand
