The Unwritten Rule: No Resignations
50sRajnath Singh's 2015 statement that ministers don't resign in NDA government sets the stage for a controversial debate on accountability.
▶ Play Clip"The title's 'zero resignations' is technically accurate for work-related mistakes, but the video qualifies it by acknowledging MJ Akbar's resignation on unrelated grounds, making it slightly overstated."
The video examines the claim that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, not a single minister has resigned due to mistakes in governance over 12 years, tracing this to an unwritten rule stated by Rajnath Singh in 2015. It contrasts this with historical precedents of resignations on moral grounds, such as those by Lal Bahadur Shastri and Nitish Kumar, and argues that the lack of accountability undermines democratic norms.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh declared, 'Ministers do not resign, is NDA government,' establishing an unwritten rule that remains in effect.
After 296 deaths in Balasore (2023), Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav faced resignation demands but remained in office.
In 2021, four farmers were killed by a vehicle linked to the son of Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni; no resignation followed.
Opposition demanded Home Minister Amit Shah's resignation over the Manipur violence that lasted two years, but he stayed.
The sole resignation in the Modi government was MJ Akbar in 2018 due to sexual harassment allegations, not a work-related mistake.
Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu offered to resign after an accident in 2017, but the government refused, and he was later moved to another ministry.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan initially denied NEET paper leaks, but re-investigation proved him wrong; he remains in office.
In 1956, Railway Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri resigned twice after accidents, despite no personal fault, setting a moral example.
Nitish Kumar resigned as Railway Minister after the Gaisal train accident, taking moral responsibility despite lack of direct blame.
After Argentina invaded the Falklands, UK Foreign Secretary Lord Carrington resigned within three days, though later found innocent.
The video concludes that the Modi government's refusal to accept resignations from ministers, despite multiple scandals and accidents, represents a departure from earlier Indian and international norms of accountability, leaving affected families and the public without redress.

03:37[00:01] is NDA government. This statement is from the year 2015 and the person who made it was the then Home Minister of the country, Rajnath Singh. And believe me, he was not joking
[00:13] because in this one line he had stated the unwritten law of the government and even today, after 11 years, every word of his is proving to be true. Because in the last 11 years, Modi government has changed a lot in India.
[00:36] Names of cities and villages changed. The road changed, the stations changed. Who will have power at the airport has also changed. But just one thing did not change. That was the one thing did not change. That was the ministerial chair surrounded by allegations. This means that zero in mathematics was
[00:51] discovered in this country. But the zero in resignations has been discovered by India's Modi government. And this story is not just about ministers. This is a test for your children. It is your train's. It is from your street. It is about your life. It is about your future.
[01:07] Because just take a count of the incidents in which resignation was not taken. 296 deaths occur. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav remains in his place. In the year 2021,
[01:20] four farmers were crushed by a vehicle in Lakhimpur Kheri. The But Teni Saheb's chair remains where it was. Manipur, that lasted for two years. The opposition
[01:32] Manipur, that lasted for two years. The opposition kept demanding the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah but now the future of your children is being In 2024, the minister refuses. They express their desire in 26 but the
[01:47] in 26 but the chair is safe. In 11 years, if we combine all the demands, big and small, there have been at least nine major demands for resignation. But till date, only one resignation has taken place in the BJP's Modi government, that of MJ Akbar and that too
[02:04] of MJ Akbar and that too on the MeToo allegations. Not due to any mistake in government work. This on the MeToo allegations. Not due to any mistake in government work. This means that till date there has not been a single resignation in the BJP government due to any mistake in functioning. means that till date there has not been a single resignation in the BJP government due to any mistake in functioning.
[02:22] cabinet would be changed again. But not a single resignation was ever presented to the public regarding anyone's accountability. ever presented to the public regarding anyone's accountability. tell you an interesting thing. In this government, resignation is not even in the hands of the minister himself.
[02:38] Because there was a Railway Minister of India, Suresh Prabhu, who himself wanted to resign in the year 2017 saying that an accident has happened and I am resigning on moral grounds. But you will be surprised to know that he was not allowed to resign. The
[02:53] not allowed to resign. The later returned to a bigger ministry. Ashwini Vaishnav still holds several ministries including Railways. That means the controversy in the current government system is a
[03:08] speed breaker for the ministers but not a wall. However, the problem of speed breaker concessions was also there in the previous governments. But because the public had settled the accounts of the previous government. That is why we talk about this government and talk about resignations
[03:23] because in a government where there is no resignation, it is assumed that mistakes are not being made. At least it is accepted on paper. However, the reality outside the paper is different. Like in the case of Dharmendra Pradhan, Dharmendra Pradhan sahab was saying in 204
[03:37] that there is no evidence of paper leak in NEET UG. The himself had said this and after that he himself had to accept that something was wrong, brother. When re-investigation was done, it was found that the paper had reached 35 children before the examination.
[03:53] arrested. That means the minister himself turned out to be wrong and the same story happened again in 2026. turned out to be wrong and the same story happened again in 2026. Now being wrong once is a mistake. Being wrong twice is a policy. But even after being proven wrong twice, the minister's
[04:07] chair is safe. There is chaos from Jantar Mantar to the streets and Parliament. The boys are policemen were accused. The boys are breaking people's heads. Both are blaming each other and one man's chair is not being removed.
[04:23] And this is where the people of the country are asking questions. Those who are watching from social media, those who reached Jantar Mantar or the streets to Parliament, are asking whether the accountability of a minister's chair has become
[04:41] And it is not just about Dharmendra Pradhan. The point is what is the system of answering in the current Modi government and if you want to understand where it started then you will have to go back to 2015. That day when this unwritten law was spoken for the first time because of a fugitive sitting in London. The
[04:58] That day when this unwritten law was spoken for the first time because of a fugitive sitting in London. The Hello, I am Shubhankar Mishra and

[06:10] Now let's start from the year 2015. The day this rule was made. In 2015, when the Modi government had been in power for a year, allegations were leveled that External Affairs Minister Sushma
[06:22] Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia arranged for the papers of fugitive Lalit Modi, who was in London, so that he could go to Portugal. That fugitive who sits outside these days and keeps speaking nonsense against India and all the businessmen of India. The
[06:37] and all the businessmen of India. The same Lalit Modi who was being chased by the agencies. Now in that period the opposition roared from the streets to the Parliament. Demands for the resignation of both arose. This news ran in the media day and night. This was the first time the
[06:52] government had to decide which path it would take. The way to respond path it would take. The way to respond or the way to stand firm by creating a shield. And then on 24 June 2015, the then Home Minister Rajnath Singh announced a decision. The
[07:08] same statement that we told you in the beginning. Ministers do not resign, is NDA government. Yes, this is NDA government. Not the UPA government. That means the entire calculation was done in one line. There is no talk of the investigation being completed, nor any response to the allegations.
[07:23] Direct announcement that resignations do not happen. And this is not a theory. After this, the record of the next 11 years is a witness in itself. Yes. Sushma Swaraj then remained the Foreign Minister. Vasundhara Raje then remained the Chief Minister. The storm passed and the government learned its first lesson
[07:37] that storms will keep coming. Just hold on to the chair and sit down and it did Just hold on to the chair and sit down and it did n't happen once. Today we will n't happen once. Today we will tell you the rules of 12 years of Modi government. When there was
[07:50] uproar regarding different ministers at different times. Allegations were made. But the resignation of not a single minister was accepted. There are at least nine such occasions. In the year 2016, many types of allegations were made against Smriti Irani. In
[08:02] which the JNU incident and the case of suicide of Rohit Vemula during that period remained in the headlines. The Education Minister was cornered on both issues. There was a demand for the resignation of the Education Minister but he did not resign. A few months later, there was a cabinet
[08:17] reshuffle and Smriti Irani was given the Textiles Ministry instead of the Education Ministry. There was no resignation. The department was changed. Year 2017 Suresh Prabhu, whom we mentioned in the beginning. Suresh Prabhu is surrounded by railway accidents. Suresh Prabhu himself
[08:34] offered his resignation. The minister wanted to leave but the government said that it would not accept his resignation. The minister was saying that it is my moral responsibility and I should resign on moral grounds. The government said no, no, it doesn't work here. This means that
[08:49] even to take responsibility, permission is required from above. After a month, Suresh Prabhu was quietly sent to the Commerce Ministry and after 2019, he was sent out of the Cabinet. The after 2019, he was sent out of the Cabinet. The only resignation taken in the Modi government in the year 2018 was that of
[09:03] MJ Akbar. He was accused of MeToo. Me Too of sexual harassment. accused of MeToo. Me Too of sexual harassment. But that matter was not related to government work. That But that matter was not related to government work. That means, in the last 12 years, there would have been only
[09:16] one resignation in the Modi government and that too would not have been due to any work related mistake. This Teni, Lakhimpur Kheri were the four farmers who were run over by vehicles.
[09:29] Direct allegations were made against the son of the Minister of State for Home. There was anger across the country. Resignation is demanded anger across the country. Resignation is demanded but does not happen. And in the same November, when the opposition threatened to boycott Parliament, the government sent a clear message that nothing like this would happen.
[09:43] government sent a clear message that nothing like this would happen. Between the years 2023 to 2025, Ashwini Vaishnav was accused not once but thrice. In June 2023, there were 296 deaths in Balasore. But when the question of resignation was asked on the spot, the Railway Minister's answer was that in such a time, the matter of humanity is
[09:59] Minister's answer was that in such a time, the matter of humanity is important. No direct answer. Then Kanchenjunga in June 2024, then demand, then silence and then February 2025 when there is a stampede at New Delhi Railway Station. The opposition then alleged that the death toll was hidden but
[10:14] his resignation was not accepted even after three accidents. It can be said that in this country the railway tracks change but the ministers do not change. Now the government also has a role in this. The government says that we did not accept the resignation because the Railway Minister is doing a good job.
[10:29] Railway accidents have decreased compared to the last few decades. Okay, it is true and Okay, it is true and credit should be given for the truth. But the question is, credit should be given for the truth. But the question is, accountability does not work on average, sir. The
[10:43] average may decrease. But for the family whose house was destroyed, it was 100% an accident. And we are saying this because there have been such examples in India. You remember, there was a Railway Minister in the year 1956. He himself sent his resignation over the accident. His name was
[10:59] Lal Bahadur Shastri Sahib, without any allegations, without any pressure. And we will tell you the story of what Pandit Nehru said at that time. At that time resignations were being given on moral grounds. resignations were being given on moral grounds. Now morality
[11:13] demands a press release. Similarly, take the example of Manipur. The state continued to burn from May 2023. The opposition kept demanding the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah for 2 years. But the resignation did not happen. Yes, Chief Minister Virendra Singh definitely went later. But when did you go? After 21 months.
[11:28] definitely went later. But when did you go? After 21 months. When the game of numbers was going wrong in the assembly. This When the game of numbers was going wrong in the assembly. This means that resignation does not happen due to public pressure but due to the mathematics of the chair. And there are countless such examples. Smriti Irani, Suresh
[11:42] Prabhu, Ajay Mishra Teni, Ashwini Vaishnav, Dharmendra Pradhan, if you look at them then again and again you will understand that resignation on the fault of work is void. Zero: Now if we have to
[11:55] compare this then we should compare it with previous governments also. However, the previous government was uprooted from the country due to corruption and was thrown out in such a way that it did not even get the post of Leader of Opposition twice. So the public had settled their accounts.
[12:09] But because when you create an explainer you want to give both perspectives you want to give both perspectives so it's easy to compare. So the previous government which was ridiculed for corruption. 10 years of UPA, in which
[12:22] Shashi Tharoor lost in the IPL controversy in 2010. A Raja had gone on 2G. Ashok Chauhan had resigned over the Adarsh scam. Yes, the Tharoor case was personal because many
[12:35] other things had come up, so we give discount there. Okay, we'll leave it there. Chauhan later became the state president. Tharoor also later returned as a minister. So the story of career not ending is not a disease of BJP. That was
[12:49] also a disease of Congress. This makes sense from this. But the difference was resignation. There used to be resignations during the Congress era. Later, when the matter slowly cooled down, the
[13:01] return would take place. There is no return here. It came out clear. However, it is not that resignations happened there every time. They were not there either.
[13:13] Like P Chidambaram's resignation was demanded regarding the 2G scam. But Chidambaram also did not resign. Sheila Dikshit's name was sought on CWG. He also did not give it. The same shield was there too. Only sometimes it would break down or the
[13:28] sometimes it would break down or the conscience would awaken depending on the choice. For example, in 2013, when elections were about to come, two ministers were removed in a single day. Ashwani Kumar and Railway ministers were removed in a single day. Ashwani Kumar and Railway Minister Pawan Bansal. However, this was done
[13:41] because his nephew was caught taking a bribe during that period. But it is also interesting that when allegations were made against the nephew in UPA, the uncle lost his chair. Because there was no direct allegation against Bansal. But Ajay Mishra Teni's son was accused of crushing the farmers
[13:56] Teni's son was accused of crushing the farmers and his father remained the Minister of State for Home. However, we do not want to make this fight an NDA versus UPA fight. Let NDA versus UPA fight. Let
[14:10] it NDA vs NDA. Let us compare the BJP government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the BJP government of Narendra Modi. Nitish Kumar
[14:22] resigned over the 1999 Gasal rail accident. About 290 people died and Nitish Kumar resigned on moral grounds. Look, today there will be thousands of questions about Nitish Kumar's politics but whatever he did during that period is recorded.
[14:36] Therefore, first of all we own its responsibility and we gave resignation and not only Nitish Kumar, in the year 2001, Vajpayee's Defence Minister George Fernandes also resigned on the Tehelka scandal. It is true that he returned after a few months.
[14:53] But the resignation took place. That is, the tradition of resignation being based on accountability was also alive in Atal Bihari Vajpayee's NDA government. It has been buried under this government. Now, in the meantime, if you are feeling love for Congress, then let us also make it clear
[15:08] that if the public had ousted them, then there was a reason for that too. The reason was that the scams in the UPA government were becoming very big. For example, in 2G, CAG had example, in 2G, CAG had given the figure of Rs 1.75 lakh crore at that time. The
[15:23] resignations of UPA were also not on moral grounds. Raja Saheb had gone when the court was at his whim. Chauhan had left when the high command said that the resignation was the result of pressure at that time and not sacrifice. It was just that pressure does not work in today's government. There was
[15:38] pressure at work in the government that was in power at that time. Today the government is absolutely clear. But the story is the same again. Is today's government also going in the same direction ? The same mistake that the previous government had made and as we said, the public has settled the accounts of the previous government. This
[15:53] as we said, the public has settled the accounts of the previous government. This time the story is what is happening. The public will make an assessment about this. Now the question is why does the government not resign? So let's listen to the government also. The government has an answer. Those who understand politics explain
[16:08] that the government does not accept resignations from its ministers because the government fears that if the resignations are accepted, it will send the message that the government has accepted its mistake.
[16:20] send the message that the government has accepted its mistake. And the Modi government is not accepting a single resignation in the last 12 years because it does
[16:34] this message to go out that any minister's resignation was taken under pressure. There is also an argument behind this that it is unfair to take resignation before the investigation is completed. Government supporters say that UPA also used to do the same. He resigned under media pressure and later his
[16:48] ministers were acquitted by the court. Now the government's argument is that is leaving the chair on allegations democracy? It sounds good to hear. But then comes a story of morality. The morality that George Fernandes and Nitish Kumar showed in Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government.
[17:04] Which was shown by Lal Bahadur Shastri Saheb in Pandit Nehru's government. Taking moral responsibility and committing a crime are two different things. Resignation does not mean that you are guilty. Resignation means that you are
[17:21] accepting responsibility. There will be an investigation, if you are innocent, return it later. But the Modi government accepted the resignation on moral grounds. However, supporters of the Modi government say that look, the government has resigned. He tried to
[17:36] resigned. He tried to time, was himself removed. Ravi Shankar Prasad was removed. Education
[17:48] Minister Nishank was removed. Now, regarding this, the supporters of the government say that ministers also go to BJP on the basis of performance. You guys are not saying the right thing. But then we are telling you that brother, there is a difference between reshuffling and removing someone by accusing him of lack of accountability before the public. There is a
[18:04] and removing someone by accusing him of lack of accountability before the public. There is a these resignations were written on paper. A few hours before the reshuffle, neither responsibility was accepted nor any explanation was given. Only a list came that the government has
[18:20] reshuffled the cabinet and the government never accepted that Dr Harsh Vardhan was removed due to Covid. This was what the media believed. Resignation is the answer, removal is the
[18:34] believed. Resignation is the answer, removal is the cleanup. This means that there is accountability in this government but perhaps in closed rooms because till date the Modi government has not accepted it even once in front of the public. Now another argument is very popular these days. Resignation is an old-fashioned thing.
[18:50] Now accountability comes from the courts, from elections, from the media. It sounds very cool, it sounds modern. But sir, the court catches crime, not negligence. Elections come once in 5 years and that is a package deal. The
[19:05] vote of the entire government does not change due to the mistake of one minister and the media can ask those questions. Can't get an answer. Resignation is the only thing that admits to the public at that time that a mistake has been made. All other admits to the public at that time that a mistake has been made. All other ways either come late
[19:19] ways either come late or do not come at all and that is why today when it is being alleged that 70 papers were leaked in 7 years.
[19:32] n't there be accountability to the public by the minister's resignation? Now some people will say that brother, what will change with resignation? The government also says that instead of resignation, we are improving the system. Like in the case of NEET, he says that look,
[19:46] CBI, Rajasthan, SOG and police of many states are investigating the NEET 2026 paper leak and arrests are being made continuously. We also got the paper done again. But then I am saying that just ask that child who prepared for a year and then
[20:01] gave the biggest exam of his life and later this incident happened to him. His paper got leaked. The leakers were the teachers appointed by NTA to set the paper.
[20:14] Yes, supporters of the government can say that the government is spotless. But then if my question is contested then the name of Sardar wins and if I lose then the question is also of Sardar. The thief was not from outside, sir. There was a man appointed by the gatekeeper who appointed, examined,
[20:30] who appointed, examined, tested and handed over the papers. So this is the thing that Manmohan Singh ji was accused of. That he takes bath in the bathroom wearing a raincoat. That means there is no water on his hands. The same thing applies to Dharmendra Pradhan as well, that
[20:45] if such big incidents are happening in Dharmendra Pradhan's department, then why is he not held accountable ? And if there is punishment for the mafia then why is there nothing for the minister? This means that in 7 years, papers of 70 examinations in 15 states are
[21:03] leaked. The opposition makes even bigger claims. He says 152 papers were leaked. 7.5 crore children were affected. This is the opposition's figure. That's why we are saying, take it as per the opposition. But the one with 70 has been published in newspapers also.
[21:16] Now even after that if the resignation does not happen then the next question is where will the resignation happen? Meaning there must be some standard. Based on morality. But it seems
[21:28] that the government's calculations are different. She wants to change the agency, change the officer, conduct the exam again, re-enact the law but do not change the minister. Changing the minister will not change the minister. Changing the minister will bring a stain on the government and the government does not want to take any stain.
[21:41] However, there is another story behind Dharmendra Pradhan's survival. Let me tell you one more bitter truth. However, there is another story behind Dharmendra Pradhan not resigning and we explain that story through this question. The question is whether
[21:56] accountability in this country is also based on status and position ? Because Dharmendra Pradhan, from whom the students are demanding resignation, is not an ordinary minister and this is the real shield of his chair.
[22:08] Dharmendra Pradhan's father Devendra Pradhan himself was a minister in the Vajpayee government. That means he has been fed politics and Dharmendra has been the Prime Minister since May 2014, i.e. from the first day of the Modi government. and Dharmendra has been the Prime Minister since May 2014, i.e. from the first day of the Modi government.
[22:24] Like the Ujjwala scheme was launched from his ministry. The big role in BJP's victory in 2024. Dharmendra Pradhan has the image of
[22:37] a low profile leader in the BJP who is serious. Stays away from chaos. The people above like it. He has control over all three areas – union, organization and government. In simple words, Dharmendra Pradhan is that player of the BJP team whom the captain finds
[22:52] costly to keep out. Whatever his performance on the field , his hold in the dressing room is strong and as long as his hold in the dressing room is strong, no one pays attention to his scoreboard and there is nothing new in this. Every government protects its own people
[23:06] ? Whether Congress saved it or not. This is not a one party disease. But the question again is, have we accepted that loyalty will always trump accountability? 70 papers leaked in 7 years, hundreds of children injured, policemen injured. One resignation can
[23:22] end the hunger strike in the country. Things can get better. The government will not be defamed. better. The government will not be defamed. That's the question. However, there is one more thing.
[23:39] Regarding Dharmendra Pradhan not resigning. BJP's Modi government tires out movements. She weighs them on the scale. You understand. This is a very interesting part. The BJP government does not show interest in any movement just like that. The government's formula is not in its books but in its records.
[23:53] She weighs every movement on a scale to see how much anger there is among the public. How much impact will this have on politics? If there is no visible loss, the government will not relent. She waits. Many journalists who have been observing this government for years say this.
[24:07] And you can see this from this movement also. In between, NEET exam was conducted again and this time the result has also come. If you notice the government, the BJP government keeps a close watch on the movement every time. Farmers' protest in 2020-21:
[24:23] Farmers staged a sit-in protest against the three agricultural laws. The government remained adamant for months. But then government remained adamant for months. But then bowed out in November 2021. Modi ji said that there was some shortcoming in our penance. But if you look at the time there, there were
[24:37] But if you look at the time there, there were elections in Punjab and UP. That means the government bowed down but when the complete test was done and the elections came closer, now whether you call it the tears of the farmers or the mathematics of vote bank, this is a story to understand.
[24:54] And now the question arises whether Dharmendra Pradhan will resign? So look, after whatever happened on the streets and around the Parliament on July 20, two CJP spokespersons JP two CJP spokespersons JP Nadda went home. Demand letter submitted. Three demands were made
[25:07] that Sonam Wangchu should be released. Give compensation to the victim's family and accept the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. It was also interesting that the resignation of the Education Minister was being sought and talks were being held with the Health Minister.
[25:20] and talks were being held with the Health Minister. Said to end the protest. That means neither the door was closed nor kept open. Now the question is what will happen? Will this Dharmendra Pradhan sahab stay or will he be removed? Look, a theory is coming from within
[25:37] that the government was going to make changes in the cabinet and the organization. But then the old story comes, if Dharmendra Pradhan was removed because of CJP, then the government will have to accept that a mistake was made and this government's track record shows that the government does not accept its mistake and to understand this,
[25:56] you remember the story of Suresh Prabhu. Suresh Prabhu had submitted his resignation but it was rejected. A few months later, the ministry was quietly changed. Was dropped from the cabinet later in 2019. That means neither defeat of resignation nor
[26:10] victory of accountability. Quiet farewell. So don't be surprised if Dharmendra Pradhan's department changes in the next few weeks or months. Just keep an eye on one thing. In the next reshuffle, Pradhan's name appeared in the organization rather than in the government. So you will understand that
[26:24] Suresh Prabhu's formula has worked. Because the BJP government has a track record. The minister does not step down. Well, overall let's return to the fact that there are no ministers' presence here. Rajnath ji had given this statement in the year 2015, this is the truth of 2026.
[26:41] From Smriti Irani to Suresh Prabhu to Teni to Ashwini Vaishnav and now Dharmendra to Ashwini Vaishnav and now Dharmendra Pradhan, in 11 years, the government has not presented a single example of being wrong. And it's not just bookish morality that does
[26:53] n't apply anywhere in the real world. In 1982, Argentina occupied the Folkestone Islands in Britain and within 3 days the Foreign Minister Lord resigned. Foreign Minister Lord resigned. Prime Minister Tatcher kept trying to stop him but
[27:07] he did not listen. He said that the country has been embarrassed and he is responsible for that embarrassment and the biggest thing is that when the investigation was done later, he was found innocent. That means he had resigned without any fault. There are he was found innocent. That means he had resigned without any fault. There are
[27:23] As we said in the beginning, in the year 1956, more than 100 deaths. Shastri Saheb had sent his resignation. Prime Minister Nehru had
[27:35] rejected it. This is the second accident in Ariyalur, Tamil Nadu within 3 months. 144 deaths occurred and Shastri again sent his resignation. Neither did he leak the paper nor did he run the train. Nor was there any allegation against him. But still he insisted. In his resignation he wrote
[27:50] that it would be better if he quietly left this post. This time Nehru also said in the Parliament that Shastri was not responsible for the accident. He is accepting the resignation so that it becomes an example for the country in future. Now connect these two stories. Be it the story
[28:05] of Shastri Sahab or the story of England. There is the same parameter at a distance of thousands of kilometers. That examples were given. But the question arising in India today is
[28:18] where has that example gone now? Because once upon a time there were ministers who would quietly come on the basis of morality. ministers who would quietly come on the basis of morality. but not on the demands of morality and accountability; they are quietly removed so that they are
[28:33] not seen leaving. The words are the same, the meaning is reversed. Then there was resignation over the accident. Today it doesn't even happen on arrests. Shastri left without any charges and Dharmendra Pradhan is sitting here after being wrong twice. Responsibility was exemplary then. Today defeat
[28:48] is accepted. And when answering becomes a defeat, do you know who loses? Neither the minister you know who loses? Neither the minister nor the party loses, the families who have suffered that pain. Be it the 296 families who lost everything in Balasore. Be it those four
[29:03] farmer families or those lakhs of children who had to take the biggest exam of their life twice because of a leaked paper. The who had to take the biggest exam of their life twice because of a leaked paper. The Dharmendra Pradhan will go or not. In Britain, the
[29:19] that tradition is slowly fading away there too. People are changing there too. The ministers have started getting stubborn. The courts are starting to break down. But understand the difference. There, when the rules are broken, they are seen being broken. Debates take place, reports are made, answers are sought. We have a rule here,
[29:33] are made, answers are sought. We have a rule here, but it is unwritten and that is that resignations are not accepted here, sir. So the real question remains: is there
[29:46] this become the norm? That if you come forward on so many deaths, so many leaks, so many wrong statements, then we should not have to ask for your resignation. You should leave it yourself because this much can be expected
[29:58] because this much can be expected in a country which has seen Lal Bahadur Shastri. What do you think? The comment section is waiting for you. Our effort was just to understand whether resignations based on morality have been abolished in India
[30:12] ? The question is very important and this was a complete attempt to understand this question. What do you think? What do you think? And among the examples we have given, which one makes you feel that a new India should be imagined and before leaving,
[30:26] one last question, what kind of Ram Rajya is this where there is no standard of morality, Rajya is this where there is no standard of morality, think about it sir.
